Virtues:
Calm in trying situations - not squeamish in the slightest, so Ume can work rather well when situations might be really tight. Calm under the gun, and won't wuss out because of any sort of injury.
Cooperative - a good subordinate. Takes orders well but capable as well.


Flaws:
Dark Sense of humor - her sense of humor is morbid to say the least, not unlike her curiosity. Blood, death, and zombie jokes and conversations abound.
Morbidly Curious - There is curious, and then there's being overly curious. Curious to the point where she'll be inconsiderate of whatever she's investigating and may come across as ruthless.
Other:
Socially Oblivious - Double Edged sword and fits in both. She misses out on things from being home schooled for a time((maybe)). So while she's not affected by any sort of negative things like rumors/gossip, at the same time, she tends to miss out on a lot of things.

Physical Description: Slightly diminutive in height she is vaguely doll like with pale skill and dark hair. Her Marroon eyes make a striking contrast that suits her more gothic preferences. Her build is slight but not unfit and she carries an air of confidence and self assurance about her that reflects in her bearing and pose.

Hair: Black, long and silky, most often partially held back in a bun and pinned with various hair sticks (which she collects)

Eyes: Almond shaped but expressive, they are a dark maroon

Face: Heart shaped and open, though even at her most relaxed she has an air of almost sad or solemn dignity.

Body: Lightly athletic, she's fit but not 'sporty', She enjoys hiking but has never done so out of more than passive interest in the out doors. She's not excessively endowed but its at least fairly clear she isn't a young man (with our without 'padding') Slender fingers and willowy movements combine make her seem slightly taller than she truly is.

Fashion: Of her own accord, gothic lolita and sometimes just goth. She prefers skirts to trousers unless she's hiking. She loves her lace and ribbons and adores little things like skulls and old cameo's.
If she were forced to shop by a 'brand' of clothes, she'd probably enjoy a bit of "emily the strange" for its humor and its adorable cats... but all in all she'd much prefer something of a Victorian air.

History - ((needs some editing))

Adopted sister to Alairi McDougall ((tentative?)) - and they couldn't be more opposite.
She is 'dark' to her 'sister's light, enjoying skulls, poor dark poetry (sometimes), gothic lolita, and well, goth in general.
This isn't to say they hate each other, they share enough in common in liking ribbons and the occasional sweet. They simply are on the fringes of complimenting each other while at the same time being in their own way 'opposing forces'

It's been a few years but she took some ballet classes, though never truly seriously. She had, after all little interest in performing on the stage, too much white after all... no matter how beautiful and tragic some of the stories. But still, on occasion she'll pirouette for no other reason than she still enjoys the dance. ((No matter if it -does- look a bit odd if you happen to have a lunch tray in your hand.))
She's also engaged in 'LARP' a handful of times, but without any serious commitment to it, more out of curiosity than any tolerance for 'rock paper scissors' as a roll playing aide.

She collects hair pins, most often singles as she finds it much more 'invigorating' if none of the pins she has placed into her hair for the day match each other as a set. The exception to this is her prize 'African porcupine quills' - picked up at a 'celebration of native american traditions' oddly enough (since they are african) - While she has no idea what they may have been intended for, there is some delight taken in the idea of having something that pointy stashed inside your hair. (at least for her)

She's slightly afraid of dogs, theirs no real reason for this other than a -very- mild phobia of them, especially the larger dogs. Perhaps it's simply because she's a 'cat person' at heart. Even if she doesn't know the cat, chances are she'll stop to try and pet it, or try and find some way to take it to a vet if it's a known stray and injured.

Plot related history

For some time theirs been a handsome black cat whom follows her to and from school. She'll sometimes stop on the way and pet him or scratch his ears.
Theirs something about him that she -just- can't seem to place that makes her feel wistful... and oddly as though she's forgotten something but -can't- quite remember what.

Solo 1 -



Dear Diary -

Ume tapped the pen against the page thoughtfully, her feet pulled up to rest on the rim of the papasan chair she was curled into while she wrote.
So many strange strange things are happening in the town lately.
That... thing in the assembly. Reports of 'terrorists' wearing..."
She paused considering.
Well, theirs some debate as to what they were wearing, some say sailor suits, others say school uniforms. But some of them have to be home made, their not the right colors.
She leaned back into her chair and stretched listening to her family with a small smile, shook her head and returned to writing.
"we haven't talked about it at all in the house, but I know they know. There has always been talk of strange events around the school though. I can't help but wonder if this has been going on for longer than people would like to admit. I wonder if 'Mom and Dad' have seen them, ha! maybe their part of it. Imagine Mom running around in a little school uniform fighting those 'mushi' or whatever you'd like to call them. I like Mushi though, even if its not really probably accurate, Oni might do though.

She paused for a moment to doodle a small cat into the corner of the page and drew an arrow to it.

On a lighter note, theirs been this sweet cat who's been following me sometimes. I don't -remember- feeding him or anything, but I guess I must have. Or perhaps he just likes the ribbons in my hair. I'm not sure how to describe him though, he just has... these amazing eyes. Their such a lovely red against his black fur. But their... unnerving. Like he -knows- you or something, perhaps a little sad? But then again I'm probably just 'projecting' my emotions on the cat" she jotted and gazed thoughtfully at her bookshelf, reaching over to grab a plush animal from the shelf. A black cat, but it of course had golden eyes. She tapped its nose thoughtfully and wondered.

Why did she always feel so... lonely when she saw it. No, lonely wasn't quite the word, like she'd -lost- something.

Maybe, she decided, maybe her birth parents had such a cat, maybe she was just remembering that somehow. Even though she really remembered nothing before living with her current family. Minds were odd things after all.

She paused and traced her finger on the brow of the plush cat. That was the other strange thing, she thought to herself. She could swear there was a small star on its brow, but he was solid black... wasn't he?
