RULES

    Bearitches exclusives
  • You must NOT own/co-own with breeding rights a purewalker or know you are receiving one soon. (We cant hold you accountable for not knowing however, and if you dont have breeding rights to a pure you dont exactly have access to getting more lol)
  • You must promise to follow All the Skinwalker rules and, if you accidentally break any rules, not to give staff a hard time when they ask you to change something to fit shop rules.
  • You CAN reuse your ideas from the Bear Squared contest if you submitted, ESPECIALLY If you got your entry reviewed to see how you can understand Skinwalkers a little better.
  • Its a work in progress, but you can see my Unofficial Skinwalker Guide if you're feeling a little shaky: FEEL FREE TO ASK ME IF YOUR IDEA WORKS BEFORE HAND! I want you guys to get really good at understanding skinwalkers so there'd be more reason to give out first gens in the future. Because I'm willing to help you polish plots/characters, I'll be mostly reviewing entries to make sure they follow rules/arent way off base and helping JetAlmeara if they get stumped on which they like best.

    General Rules
  • This is an User-Run Contest and not an official shop giveaway, So not only does it mean that it doesnt count to your monthly freebies, but it also means that what we are giving is all you can really get.
  • We'd prefer Active Soquili Regulars: While we both like newbies, the majority Grab and Dash, and we'd like to make sure this goes to someone who actually spends time in thread and trying for things, even if they dont actually own any soquili. We're trying to help the walker population and we can't do that if someone only shows up ONLY to enter for this contest and then leaves never to be seen again! There WILL be more contests, so if you're new and have been sort of shy, just hang out a bit: next time you should be golden! (PS: If you have no ponies and hang out in the main chat and actually talk you're golden <3).
  • Please fill the form out completely
  • Don't be a sore loser if you dont win: That'll be kept in mind for future basket contests and/or co-owns.
  • Late entries will not be accepted, even if neither owner is around to close the thread.
  • Feel free to edit your entries up until closing!

"Family ties"

As skinwalkers they have no real family binds and will be left to fend for themselves. However this is who/what they are related to. We take our Skinwalkers Seriously.

Basketmates
The trio of baskets are seperated almost immediately -- Pizzly dropping baskets on the edges of different herd territories in hopes of the foals growing to cause chaos and suffering for those living in the area, or putting them with other baskets/close enough to get them 'adopted' and put beside non-walker baskets only to chow down on their adoptive parents or their foals. Bits of jewelery have been scattered about along with a bit of blood smeared from a victim to make the baskets obviously orphaned to make them more appealing to future meals adoptive parents.

Chances of them ever meeting each other or their parents is slim since Pizzly really scattered them and put them away from her personal territory. Kids are just competition.

Name: Pizzly
About:

Pizzly preys on sleeping soquili and children that are not her own (easy prey) for food.. However when not looking for food she hunts the impressive, the beautiful, the well dressed....

The mare is incredibly vain, and horribly sadistic, often drawing out kills with an almost single minded determination, the only thing capable of distracting her from her ‘sessions’ is if her prey manages to get her to monolog. She keeps trophies of every single one of her victims, keeping them collected in her winter den, creating morbid decorations and having ‘fond’ memories of their pain and how exactly they died… Or , if they managed to escape, the wicked plans she has for them.

Additionally, she experiments with various forms of preservation. While most of her trophies are bone, feathers, and hair, Some of her trophies are mummified using rock salt (harvested from part of her den-cave well outside of the parts she lives in), bogs, or shrinking them down by boiling them in herbal water.

Her artwork is surprisingly beautiful, if Macabre, though some of it swings into the utterly grotesque. Her den, a cave that she had discovered to be attached to a rocksalt deposit she actively mines for her preservation experiments, is lavishly decorated with pelts and furs. jewelery and armor, silks and blankets... All stolen forcefully from her prey. Even other skinwalkers are not safe -- her favorite trophy animals are cursedwalkers.

Name: Glacier
About:

Glacier is as cold as his name implies, caring for nothing beyond his own personal desires at any given time. He views the inhabitants of the land as little more then walking meat and perhaps, if he's bored, things to toy with. Their overly emotional reactions to him are somewhat amusing and although he honestly doesn't understand why they insist on getting so pointlessly attached to one another the way they flail and moan and scream when he interferes with their lives can make an other wise boring day a little bit less so.

He's not entirely stupid however, like most predators he has a highly developed sense of self preservation and while he might toy with the weak and certainly will fight if he's cornered - he generally prefers to disappear when actual stiff resistance shows its face. Not that it matters to him - he's a wanderer and there are always more to torment on the road ahead, why bother expending energy against strong prey when he could find something which requires a bit less effort down the road.

Glacier is a migratory creature, birthed in the far North he found the area up there too desolate - not enough prey to sustain him and the decent areas to live in already taken and defended by older stronger creatures. As such he's followed the seasons... coming farther south in the winter and moving back to the north when the hot weather becomes to much of a burden. He follows his whim's and the demands his thick heavy coat places on him.

His meandering path throughout the land has left devastation and sorrow in its wake, grieving mothers, heartbroken sons and daughters etc but Glacier see's only the whining of the emotionally burdened inferiors that are only around for him to eat or toy with and pays it no real mind. He enjoys watching their reactions simply because he caused it and it appeals to his inner vanity to know he has made such an impact..but in the end all the wailing is really inconsequential.

Uncle Bear

User Image
Owner(s): Mindsend
Name: Bear
About:
At first appearances, when most soquili meet Bear, he seems to be a nice enough, if somewhat introverted fellow: He often times saves them from a rock slide, and brings them to the herd he's protector of, feeds them delicious food and teaches them skills. He never seems to take off his robes or wraps, claiming that he had a skin condition required him to be wrapped up and covered at all times, burns from when he was attacked by humans who mistook him for a purewalker. He'd rub his eyes and return their attentions to the food, saying it brought him joy to know they shared with him something he could not have while he ate cured meat or the occasional slab of raw liver so the best would go to his 'friends'.

However, as time goes on there seems to be something sinister behind the facade. Bear leaves regularly, leaving them plenty of food and letting them nibble at the weeds in the gardens or play with the various, somewhat sedentary games or professions he'd teach them, often times after snapping into a frightening rage before wandering off to cool down. Everyone seems to be growing fatter and sleepier with the inactive lifestyle. Sometimes wandering soquili find what seems to be traps set to trigger rockslides or triplines. And to top it all off, none of the soquili nor familiars there have been part of the herd for more than a year, and sometimes they'd simply... Vanish, never to be seen again. After a while a new bit of fresh meat arrives for the meat eaters to savor, but where exactly is this 'mutant 'getting them?

As fall approaches, Bear begins focusing on creating 'the feast', saying he had big plans for everyone.. While some seem excited for this celebrator feast, some of the more observant members of the herd cannot help but feel a frightening chill they cannot quite explain....

--------

For Bear, the entire year when he wakes in spring from his winter slumber, he spends his time preparing for the next winter nap. However, unlike most purewalkers, even other bearwalkers, he's discovered an easier way to fatten up for the winter: Save some saps, often from his own traps, and have the smaller familiars farm and teach them skills that they can teach the soquili and larger familiars, and watch as they feed, fatten and create luxuries and food that can be used the next year to tempt in fresh livestock for his larder.

Crocodile tears, a poor, soppy story of his 'hideousness' and fabricated abuse in his past, and they eat it up and follow him blindly, lambs to the slaughter.

In the fall he taints the grand feast, knocking his prey out, and he drags them off to his pens, where others who had discovered his identity had been kept until they were fat enough to serve, and begins the slaughter, feasting, and curing of their meat, allowing him to store excess so he doesn't have to hunt too much in the spring. Stocking his stores and setting aside any baskets early enough in term to work as a starter stock for his next years 'crop', he settles in for hibernation and the cycle starts again, a meal well enjoyed, seasoned with the flavor of the heartbroken betrayal of his victims.

Bearitches? Don't you mean Bit-*mauled*~!

Username: Cajmera
Ideas for the foal's Name: Snerl, because she named herself and she likes snarly noises.

Personality: Snerl might be a bear in breeding and appearance, but when it comes to her personality and behavior, she has more in common with aquatic predators like sharks or crocodiles. She prefers to wait, silent and immobile, only to lash out fiercely when hunting or provoked. Because she prefers to use stealth and patience when hunting rather than strength, she has no tolerance for shared hunting grounds and finds her fellow skinwalkers in particular to be maddening.

Ever since she was a foal, Snerl has relied more on her shrewdness than her strength for getting food. Upon emerging from her basket, Snerl found herself to be quite alone; with no one there to provide her with food (or to become food), she had to learn to acquire it for herself. Though even a young skinwalker is nothing to be sneered at, the plain facts were that as a newly-emerged foal she had neither the strength nor the stamina to hunt by orthodox means, or for orthodox prey. Lizards and rodents were enough for her in the beginning, but from there she rapidly progressed to larger, more substantial prey.

Snerl is cold, quiet, and calculating; having grown up on her own, she never properly learned to talk and regards snarling and growling as her primary form of communication.

Her preferred hunting style is ambush. She is capable of remaining motionless for hours, buried amidst the leaves of the forest floor, the rocks along the walls of a canyon, or even the mud of a marsh. She finds likely spots, settles in, and simply waits for prey to wander by...at which point she erupts like a crocodile, preferring quick, clean kills that conserve the most blood and tissue. She maintains caches of meat for leaner periods, but prefers to keep her reflexes sharp by constant hunting practice, even when she's fully satiated. On those occasions she's not hunting for food, she likes to lighten things up a bit by posing her kills in amusing ways and fun places where they're sure to be stumbled upon by other prey. Even if Snerl isn't around to watch, she still gets a kick out of knowing someone will get to enjoy the results of her efforts.

Rough Plot ideas:
No specific plot ideas at this time, but I have an idea for a 'hide and seek' plot where some Soquili stumbles upon one of Snerl's posed kills and freaks out, but because Snerl herself is too far away to 'ambush' the Soquili, there is no kill. Instead, Snerl decides to make a game out of the Soquili's horror and starts to follow it about, staging further elaborate 'shows' for the Soquili to find until she either finally kills it or it shakes her. This would be best with a unicorn, I think.

I swear to follow all Skinwalker rules, and keep anything that doesn't fit shop canon out of the shop threads and guilds: Yes

-------RP examples?------
These are a pretty fair example of my rp style. I'll be upfront and admit I have never rped a truly evil Soq before, so if I do end up winning Snerl, it will be new in that respect. However, I prefer longer rps with lots of development, including many solos.

-------QUESTIONNAIRE------
It is required to answer these questions to have a chance.

Question: If someone you wish to breed your skinwalker with insists on all three breedings being together, how would you explain this in story canon? And How should this be handled in breeding forms?
Answer:
Given the nature of Skinwalkers, I wouldn't agree to that arrangement so it would be moot for Snerl. But hypothetically, it could be explained in story canon as the two skinwalkers having similar hunting styles/outlooks on prey/etc and being thrown into proximity with each other enough that mating instincts simply take over...multiple times. And in that case, you'd just use the standard 'selective permission' form.

Question: Do Skinwalkers form family units or care what their family thinks?
Answer:
...No. They don't feel love, or any other sort of emotional connection.

Question: If you have a hard time RPing a skinwalker in character, what can you do?.
Answer:
Research, research, research! Read the Skinwalker information guide to start with; talk to Uta the RP Manager; talk to the owners of Snerl's parents, or other purewalker owners for tips. But never compromise the nastiness that is a Skinwalker.

Question: Skinwalkers can, on rare occasions, form packs/herds to organize an attack, but they always break apart shortly afterwards or sometimes even before they manage to stage the raid. What do you think happens to cause these breakups?
Answer:
Well, they're Skinwalkers. They don't like anything except violence and mayhem, not even each other; considering that a gathering of skinwalkers would pretty much preclude there being any prey animals around, they'd have to get their mayhem and violence fill from each other. Plus, I imagine they'd easily annoy each other, given their preferences for solitude.

Question: In your own words, please explain the nature of Skinwalkers.
Answer:
Skinwalkers are evil incarnate, demons in Soquili form. They care for nothing other than their own lusts, specifically for blood and violence. The specifics vary from walker to walker, some preferring mind games, others just preferring straight-out facing ripping. They are born of evil, particularly the purewalkers, and they don't care what anyone thinks.

Ideas for the foal's Name: Mayoke (named by an adoptive parent; means "charm against an evil spirit")

Personality: Mayoke is a devious mare with the ability to manipulate the feelings of other Soq. She takes great pleasure in tormenting others with this talent, preferring to take her time with games and challenges as opposed to killing straight away. Very few Soq realize that they have been entwined in her web of violence and deceit until it is too late. The first victim of her maliciousness was her adoptive father.

Ever since she was a foal, Mayoke has dedicated her time to refining her techniques, creating new and terrifying ways to destroy the lives of others. This blood lust is often times demonstrated in her hunting style which targets other Soq and familiars. She will lure her prey into her traps with the promise of comfort (i.e. food, shelter, care etc.), allowing them to become complacent before revealing her true intentions.

Mayoke's favorite form of entertainment is offering a chance of freedom to her victims. She issues a challenge, stating that if they win she will let them go. No victim has ever seen the light of day again. Her other favorite past-time is destroying the loving relationships of non-walkers.

Rough Plot ideas: Mayoke was raised under the care of a solitary Draft Cerynae stallion. He named her with the belief that a great spirit sent her to ward off his loneliness and to help defend against evil spirits. Being of a more spiritual nature, the stallion chose to see past the vestiges of the Skinwalker, wishing to raise the foal as a warrior for the light. Little did he realize the evil that had manifested in his midst.

The plot would center around her early years (to begin with) and show the progression of descent into wondrous madness.

I swear to follow all Skinwalker rules, and keep anything that doesn't fit shop canon out of the shop threads and guilds: Yes

-------RP examples?------

Ummm, I don't really have any at this time since I just won my first Soq and haven't had a chance to RP yet. But there would be definite RP.

-------QUESTIONNAIRE------
It is required to answer these questions to have a chance.

Question: If someone you wish to breed your skinwalker with insists on all three breedings being together, how would you explain this in story canon? And How should this be handled in breeding forms?
Answer:
I would not agree to that given the nature of Skinwalkers. The only exception would be if the offered mate was also a Skinwalker and it was a matter of equal ability. In this case, I believe one would use a "selective breeding" form.

Question: Do Skinwalkers form family units or care what their family thinks?
Answer:
Nope. There are no such things as family ties to a Skinwalker.

Question: If you have a hard time RPing a skinwalker in character, what can you do?.
Answer:
Read the Skinwalker information guide, talk to an RP manager or Uta or Mindsend, research other Skinwalker RPs, RP in private guilds or PM or other similar threads/ways, be sure to state that they may not or do not fit within shop canon.

Question: Skinwalkers can, on rare occasions, form packs/herds to organize an attack, but they always break apart shortly afterwards or sometimes even before they manage to stage the raid. What do you think happens to cause these breakups?
Answer:
The very nature of a Skinwalker is to dominate, be violent, and to take care of number 1. Therefore, ego and blood lust take over so that the Skinwalkers fight one another.

Question: In your own words, please explain the nature of Skinwalkers.
Answer:
Skinwalkers are pure and unequivocal evil. They care for no Soq but themselves and will do anything to fulfill their desire for chaos and destruction. There is no reasoning with them as their whims are their own.

Bearitches? Don't you mean Bit-*mauled*~!

Username: Yushika
Ideas for the foal's Name: Snarl

Personality: Vicious and more animalistic than some Purewalkers, Snarl relies on instinct instead of thought. This does not mean she's stupid, or incapable of reason, it simply mean she embraces the more feral side of her nature and follows it. She does, when she is older, begins to develop thought out plans, but it isn't more intricate than: "Trick prey. Eat prey."

Snarl is a little monster who will grow into a lethal beast. As a basket, she will be adopted (hopefully by someone who is in the shop and not just a NPC), and grow into a foal ready to sink her new teeth into flesh. She'll display in inability to pause and think as a foal, instead thirstily throwing herself at anyone and everyone when hungry. She will eventually grow into a young adult, and thus slowly settle into her body and begin to plan out kills, slightly. She'll become more manipulative, luring strangers to her den by mimicking the sounds of a hurt baby foal (how she's learned this sound is something you probably don't want to know), and then lurk in the shadows until they come close enough, using only one leap to fall her prey.

Snarl never finds a need to use words. Sure, she can speak, but she much rather not. She's more fond of snarls and growls, thank you. Snarl also has a horrible habit of watching pregnant soq, tracking them, and kidnapping baskets whenever she can. Why? Because the foal will be absolutely delicious when it pops out of the basket.

The way she hunts is usually pretty simple. If she desires a soq she'll use her hurt foal trick, or simply charge at them. If it's another animal she tends to just throw herself at them. Nothing is off limits, and typically the bigger and stronger prey tastes the best.

Rough Plot ideas:
- I want to find someone willing to adopt her basket (I prefer they also have baskets), and when she emerges she immediately tries to eat the other foals. Of course, I won't let her kill anyone, and she'd eventually either be chased off or flee.
- I want her to stumble around the woods, finding other foals and adults and trying to take a nibble. She'll need to learn that hunting isn't just "chomp chomp".
- Naming herself. Or, rather, someone asks her name and she just emits a snarl, later recognizing that as her own name.
- Stumbling upon her "adoptive" family again and going for round two, and failing.
- Finally is an adult and starts looking for her own territory, maybe even chasing another Purewalker out of their home. Ultimately, she's a den creature and will claim a cave of her own.
- Finding a herd and stalking it for awhile, trying to pick off anyone who leaves the herd by themselves.
- Begins to decorate her cave with skins of her prey, just like her birth mother.
- Maybe MEETS one of her birth parents and immediately lunges. Probably is overpowered and flees, but will store whatever skills she spotted that they had and try to imitate them.
- Has baskets. Oh no. Best idea she has is dumping them near pregnant mares when they aren't looking. Maybe the foals will be lucky unlike her and get to kill another foal. That'd be cool. She most likely will just leave after that. She doesn't care at all about the babies. She primarily dumped them on others just so they wouldn't be on her territory.
- Meets one of her kids, tries to kill it, eventually just abandons it because it's too small for a tasty morsel. Maybe she'll wait until it's an adult and eat it then.
- All the fights and drama. Need a Purewalker to wreck havoc? Hi. Snarl is here.

I swear to follow all Skinwalker rules, and keep anything that doesn't fit shop canon out of the shop threads and guilds: Absolutely!

-------QUESTIONNAIRE------
It is required to answer these questions to have a chance.

Question: If someone you wish to breed your skinwalker with insists on all three breedings being together, how would you explain this in story canon? And How should this be handled in breeding forms?
Answer:
Most likely, if this were to hypothetically happen, it'd be a coincidence and have to be with another Purewalker. Snarl follows her instincts, and when it gets to mating season she's not going to deny it. If she happens to bump into the same unlucky fella several times, well, so be it. He's just there for the pleasure, anyway. This won't make her favor him in the least, and eventually when they were done she'd immediately try and rip his head off. And I can bet you that the second she got baskets she'd try and hunt him down and murder him for what heinous thing he made her have. It'd be a ONS selective breeding. I won't be doing this, though, as it seems too close to mating them mates, which Snarl both can't have and I don't want her to have.

Question: Do Skinwalkers form family units or care what their family thinks?
Answer:
Nawp. You go Snarl.

Question: If you have a hard time RPing a skinwalker in character, what can you do?.
Answer:
Read the Skinwalker guide and approach a RP manager for help If you REALLY just can't do it, keep your RPs/plots/whatever out of the guild/shop if you decide to break shop canon.

Question: Skinwalkers can, on rare occasions, form packs/herds to organize an attack, but they always break apart shortly afterwards or sometimes even before they manage to stage the raid. What do you think happens to cause these breakups?
Answer:
Skinwalkers are not one for groups or emotions, and are typically territorial and solitary. Plop a bunch of Skinwalkers together and all you'll get is a little mess of violence and need to dominate/murder one another. They can't work together. It's just not possible. None of them are able to be submissive enough to do so. If Skinwalkers can't have any familial bonds why would they have anything to do with anyone else?

Question: In your own words, please explain the nature of Skinwalkers.
Answer:
Skinwalkers are the very soul of evil. They have an inherent lust for mayhem and destruction, and nothing will get in their way. Some are devious, some are tricky, some are animalistic, but all share one thing in common: They desire nothing but to destroy anyone in their path.

Ideas for the foal's Name:  Ice Heart
Personality:

Ravenous- The territory Pizzly abandoned her basket was lacking n everything. Food, prey, shelter, and water – the necessities to sustain life. It was a harsh and unforgiving place. A place that killed the weak, and made those who survived strong. But it also left her with an endless hunger, a hunger that could never be satiated, never satisfied.

Hunter- Her strength as a hunter lies not in her brain, but in her stamina – her ability to run down her prey until they are exhausted, and her strength which she uses to take down those larger than herself, and kill them swiftly. Where most 'walkers would torment their victims for a long time, before allowing them the sweet release of death, that is a luxury she does not have. It is wasteful, and she cannot abide waste.

Trophy-taker- Living in the harsh environment that shaped her, taught Ice Heart not to waste. One could never know when their next meal was coming, or if it was, and it was a lesson she took to heart. She would consume the corpses of her prey, even down to the bones. But she would take and hoard any trinkets that were inedible to decorate her hidden den. And the hearts, which she would preserve, a technique she stumbled upon accidentally, she would use to mark the boundaries of the land she claimed as her own. Serving as a deterrent and a warning...

Rough Plot ideas:
Strength to Survive- Mostly how the foal survives on her own in a land devoid of the basic necessities, and how the land shapes her.

Blood is Water- where there is little food and less water, one does what one needs to in order to survive. Ice Heart discovers that blood can quench thirst better than water...

This is how I Kill- Ice Heart develops her method of killing that wastes as little as possible.

This Land is Mine- After accidentally discovering a method of preserving hearts, and using them to mark her territory, a skinwalker encroaches on her lterritory, ignoring the warnings. Ice battles the creature.

Question: If someone you wish to breed your skinwalker with insists on all three breedings being together, how would you explain this in story canon? And How should this be handled in breeding forms?
Answer:
Breedings would be treated as flings, with a new agreement posted for each one. 'Walkers do not lifemate nor anything even close. If it is agreed that they will use all breedings togther -they would be treated as flings. IC'ly They might have territories nearby, and so are convenient to scratch the itch, or they recognize the other as a strong partner genetically, allowing for strong offspring and improvement of the species.

Question: Do Skinwalkers form family units or care what their family thinks?
Answer:
they can form packs for a short time or a single purpose, but their personalities don't permit it to last very long. For extreme situations or extremely rewarding potential payout.

Entire selfish beings, they care about nothing and no-one excepting themselves. They don't give a damn about what anyone else thinks. There are no bonds and even less care about the others who share their blood.

Question: If you have a hard time RPing a skinwalker in character, what can you do?.

You can ask for advice, to make sure you don't step over any boundaries. Or if you absolutely cannot rp them to fit within shop guidelines, keep rp ooc and off Gaia, or you can plot, find a co-owner who is more comfortable rp'ing them.

Question: Skinwalkers can, on rare occasions, form packs/herds to organize an attack, but they always break apart shortly afterwards or sometimes even before they manage to stage the raid. What do you think happens to cause these breakups?
Answer:
They might attempt to work together for a short time, but they are also very alpha type personalities, and their ideas will come n conflict with their goals, and with each other, they would sabotage the group by following their own desires and they would start to fall apart. And a myriad of other potential reasons.

Question: In your own words, please explain the nature of Skinwalkers.
Answer:
Skinwalkers are evil incarnate, demons in Soquili form. They care for nothing other than their own lusts, specifically for blood and violence.  They don't care what anyone thinks. They know of no bounds, they will literally do anything to get what they want. They can't form bonds or relationships. Volatile, destructive, chaotic.

Ideas for the foal's Name: Worthless Runt, The Flayer

Personality: "Worthless Runt" - the only words her mother ever said to her, though it was more at her as she was being abandoned in the basket. She took the moniker as her name, though in later life she also becomes known to locals as "The Flayer" due to her favorite form of torture.

Runt is a calculating creature, relying on her wits since as her name implies, she is slightly smaller than normal. She uses clever traps or trickery to get her victims to her lair, subduing them with poisonous mushrooms or hallucinogenic berries so they are docile. The effects only last long enough for Runt to get them restrained - she wants them alert when she begins her work.

She slowly peels the skin away. Her goal is to keep the skin in one large piece, finishing before the victim can die. It typically takes days, as the victim will pass out from pain often. Runt takes pleasure in curing the skin to keep it, hanging it in her lair for decoration - and asking the victim how their skin looks on the wall. It's only then Runt will grant her victim the sweet gift of death and feast on their flesh.
Rough Plot ideas:
Runt spends the first weeks out of the basket nearly starving as she gets the hang of trying to capture meat. She's small and weak at first and the prey in the area was too fast or large for her alone. She grows weaker by the day without food, to the point she didn't bother hiding after getting water from the stream as normal. As luck would have it a small rabbit wandered by as she lie there. It approached her curiously, without fear. She remained still, even whined a little to seem more pathetic. The rabbit came closer... closer... and when it came within range and bent to nuzzle her she struck like lightning, her claws slashing across the rabbit's neck. A bit of the rabbit's skin caught on her claws, tearing off in a strip. She found she liked the tactile feel of it - and so The Flayer was born. She grinned, staring into the rabbit's eyes as its lifeblood drained on the ground. Before it died she began to feed as it struggled weakly against her. She felt strong for the first time in her short life, and she found she liked the feeling.

// Basically she will be something of a shadow creature, hiding in darkness and either poisoning her victims into complacency or if it becomes necessary, all-out trickery.

// Her foalhood rp will be her discovering and developing her skills through trial and error.

// As she moves into adolescence she will develop her den and begin keeping the skins of her victims, perfecting the ability to torture for days without killing her victims.

// Adulthood will find her an absolute horror- the scourge of her chosen territory. Feared and hunted by the soquili nearby.

Question: If someone you wish to breed your skinwalker with insists on all three breedings being together, how would you explain this in story canon? And How should this be handled in breeding forms?
Answer:
Well they aren't lifemates or lovers or "as close as they can get" to lifemates or even friends. Most likely they have territory that border each other and nothing more.

Question: Do Skinwalkers form family units or care what their family thinks?
Answer:
Bahahahahahahaha.... hahahaha... hahahahahahaha...... Ahem. No. I mean I guess if the mother wants to manipulate her foals before driving them off her land to fend for themselves, I guess that TECHNICALLY counts as caring what they think - but only because the mother would be trying to get them to do her bidding and behave the way she wants. But mostly no.

Question: If you have a hard time RPing a skinwalker in character, what can you do?.
Answer:
Take it to private guilds or whatever since it doesn't fit cannon. Or ask staff to help you out with what you're getting wrong

Question: Skinwalkers can, on rare occasions, form packs/herds to organize an attack, but they always break apart shortly afterwards or sometimes even before they manage to stage the raid. What do you think happens to cause these breakups?
Answer:
I would have to guess the inherent hatred they all have for each other. Having them work together for even a small period is a miracle in itself. Inevitably someone will do or say something that triggers the vanity, dominance, insanity, or pure lust for blood of one or more around them and then all hell will break loose.

Question: In your own words, please explain the nature of Skinwalkers.
Answer:
Just... evil. Pure, unapologetic, unrepentant Evil. Demons. Creatures of blackest darkness.

Ideas for the foal's Name: Little Bear

Personality: Little Bear is vicious and a blood-thirsting skinwalker. Despite her name Little Bear she is nothing little and those that choose to mock her name will endure a slow painful death. How she got her name was by a foolish foster parent who was protecting her basket, upon opening up there were clearly something strange about her but she still got a name based on her appearance. It took a small attack against a foster sibling to raise a red flag and so one night the foster parent took her foals with her while Little Bear slept. The disappearance of them meant nothing to her except for food lost.

So she self trained herself starting off killing smaller animals until she grew then she went for the larger prey. During her adult years she would train her body to get stronger so she’d be ready for a fight if another skinwalker would just happen to come across her. When she is not eating. She’s chewing on some bones. Sharpening up those teeth of hers.

Little Bear is no joke.

Rough Plot ideas:

-Finding someone willing to foster the basket. Though I just might use one of mine.

-She’ll be named Little Bear by the clueless foster parent.

-Learning to hunt and thrill of her first kill.

-Gaining her first territory.

-She’ll over power a lesser species. She’ll keep them as a toy until bored and then she’ll kill them.

-Encounter with the foster parent or foster sibling. They’ll make the mistake and let their guard down. She’ll kill them.

-Encountering another skinwalker looking for a fight.

Question: If someone you wish to breed your skinwalker with insists on all three breedings being together, how would you explain this in story canon? And How should this be handled in breeding forms?
Answer:
We could make it that they are from neighboring territories and not many other skinwalkers are nearby.

As if it was a fling.

Question: Do Skinwalkers form family units or care what their family thinks?
Answer:
No

Question: If you have a hard time RPing a skinwalker in character, what can you do?.
Answer:
Best idea is to study up on the guidelines for a skinwalker. If you have more trouble could always ask for advice from a current skinwalker owner or better yet if you feel you can’t do it justice perhaps seek a co-owner.

Question: Skinwalkers can, on rare occasions, form packs/herds to organize an attack, but they always break apart shortly afterwards or sometimes even before they manage to stage the raid. What do you think happens to cause these breakups?
Answer:
Well to begin with skinwalkers have no love for eachothers company and are power hungry creatures. So chances are if kept together for too long they’d probably end up killing each other.

Question: In your own words, please explain the nature of Skinwalkers.
Answer:
They’re pure evil. Incapable of love, vicious and power hungry. As well as territorial.

Ideas for the foal's Name: Grolar, Polar, Iceberg

Personality: Solitary with more than a little bit of malice. She hates everything and everyone with a equal fervor. Often preferring to keep kills quick and clean so as to minimize contact with other creatures. To her all living things stink. She prefers to hang out with her very dead trophies often talking to them and plotting out her ideas. She has a thing for skulls and has been know to carefully kill her pray, behead them and then clean them to make them suitable for display. Her vanity is her collection and she's very fastidious about herself and her lair. Nothing must stink of the living. Nothing.
Rough Plot ideas:
Head Hunter: Literally. Either she succeeds in taking a Soqs head or they get away with quite a story to tell and very nasty scar. Also inheriting a rather nasty enemy.

Thief: Stealing skulls, possibly from her mother or anyone else. I can she her being rather fascinated with the ghost family and their skulls. Or any individual with an interesting skull really. Attached or not.

Offering: In an attempt to appease the monster, the locals (soq, human and familiar alike) begin bringing skulls to her in her territory. It seems to work. Unless she catches a would be offer-er. Double score.

It is required to answer these questions to have a chance.

Question: If someone you wish to breed your skinwalker with insists on all three breedings being together, how would you explain this in story canon? And How should this be handled in breeding forms?
Answer:
Since Skins do not lifemate, it would be separate flings. Since Skins believe in survival of the fittest, it could be that or a shared territory boundary with few other individuals in the surrounding area.

Question: Do Skinwalkers form family units or care what their family thinks?
Answer:
A mother may take care of her young until they are old enough. But love is not the driving factor. Instinct drives a Skin. They are killers and instinct dictates death, destruction, the furthering to the species and survival. Perhaps if all of those were a factor a Skin might stick around for a short while. But he/she will never care what his/her family thinks.

Question: If you have a hard time RPing a skinwalker in character, what can you do?.
Answer:
Either don't RP canonically or give a co-owner you trust RP rights so they can do it properly. There is also the possibility to learn and ask questions. There are more Skins now then there ever were. I'm sure a few good RPers and their RPs could help yield inspiration.

Question: Skinwalkers can, on rare occasions, form packs/herds to organize an attack, but they always break apart shortly afterwards or sometimes even before they manage to stage the raid. What do you think happens to cause these breakups?
Answer:
Instinct drives a Skin. They are killers and instinct dictates death, destruction, the furthering to the species and survival. Perhaps if all of those were a factor a Skin might stick around for a short while. But in the end you're dealing with a creature that is solitary, dangerous, and bent on blood. Expecting smooth relationships and interactions is foolhardy.

Question: In your own words, please explain the nature of Skinwalkers.
Answer:
Skins serve the purpose of quality and population control. Soquili have few true predators. What better than death and darkness incarnate? I like to think of Skins as being akin to a the old-fashioned view on the Vampire. Wholly evil and bent on blood and destruction. Smart and crafty sometimes, hungry always, but still evil.

Ideas for the foal's Name: Grizzly, or maybe something as simply as Bear. I want the name to be simple really, since she's essentially naming herself. Maybe even something like Claw? I'll settle on something, I'm sure. Haha. Maybe even Snow? So, Grizzly, Bear, Claw, or Snow.

Personality: Grizzly stepped out of her basket at a time of year when normally she'd just be resting. She'll never admit to anyone that the first couple of months were a rough start for her all on her own. She wasn't picked up by some unsuspecting family that thought they could handle the evil blood running through her veins, so she had to tackle the cold world all on her own.

From her experience growing up, she becomes extremely jaded. She believes herself to be a beautiful killing machine. She lives for the thrill of them hunt. She has created her own small territory by either running of those who lived their originally, or using their bones to create a perimeter so others know what they're getting into when they stumble upon it. The further you get into her territory the more horrifying the collection of skulls, bones, pelts and other accessories become. Her cave is painted with the blood of her victims.

Grizzly likes to seek out prey, drag them to her cave and let them 'escape'. Then, she likes to take her time hunting them through her ravaged territory as they get spooked again and again by the horrors they find inside.
Rough Plot ideas:

1. Waking up to Snow - I'd like to RP some of her struggles at being a young filly all on her own in the cold. Of course, this challenging in her youth will only build her into a strong mare in her adulthood.

2. Developing the Monster - Trail and error as a filly/early adolescence. Developing her hunting skills and searching for a place to call her home.

3. She's a Menace - As an adult she does wander from time to time, but really she prefers the comfort of her own den and territory. She's developed the skills to use bones and pelts form her victims to mark her territory and she's developed the ability to drag her victims to her cave and hunt them down in her lands.

4. Let's Battle - Grizzly is sure to become hated by others. Likely many might try to hunt her down by coming in her territory or tracking her as she wanders out to find new prey. She's more then happy to show you who's boss. I'd like fore her to fight other pure walkers/skinwalkers as well.

Question: If someone you wish to breed your skinwalker with insists on all three breedings being together, how would you explain this in story canon? And How should this be handled in breeding forms?
Answer:
I'm not sure I would agree to this really, it would have to be a fairly interesting plot, but even then I probably wouldn't let it go past two breedings together before the two simply couldn't stand each other. Regardless, it would be a 'selective breeding' each and every time, because Skinwalker's do not lifemate.

Question: Do Skinwalkers form family units or care what their family thinks?
Answer:
No way. The perfect example of this is how Pizzly abandoned her baskets. Not only did she abandon them, but she scattered them. Skinwalkers do not love. They only have pride in themselves.

Question: If you have a hard time RPing a skinwalker in character, what can you do?.
Answer:
I would do to the Skinwalker Guide first, and then Uta if I was still having trouble. Of course, I'd likely just discuss things with the parents' owners first. To see if things make sense for the child to be going through.

Question: Skinwalkers can, on rare occasions, form packs/herds to organize an attack, but they always break apart shortly afterwards or sometimes even before they manage to stage the raid. What do you think happens to cause these breakups?
Answer:
I believe hatred clouds their ability to work together as a group. Someone snaps at someone, and before you know it it could be an all our massacre of their fellow skinwalker until only a few remain. It's simply just not likely to last long. They're greedy and essentially pure evil.

Question: In your own words, please explain the nature of Skinwalkers.
Answer:
Their evil and malice all balled up into one large killing machine. They don't care for anyone outside of themselves, this includes family members. They hunt other Soquili and like creatures for meat. They have a hard time even pretending to be nice unless it;s to track in unsuspecting prey. Some of them prefer an outright hunt, while other prefer to see the emotional pain their can wreck on others before killing them.

Ideas for the foal's Name:
xxxxx Naming Herself Ideas: Icefang
xxxxx Naming From Others/Overhearing: The Grave Digger | Burial | The Entombment

Personality:
xxxxx This Walker is a twisted thing. Born and raised from evil itself, she walks with an air about her that people find bone chilling.

Foal: As a foal, the Walker will be seen as small and, well, defenseless. She's small at the start, a runt so to say. But every Walker has claws and fangs ready to take things apart. She's scared at first, mostly from the fact that she has no idea what the power she holds truly is. If any sneak up on her, she tries to attack. People make a loud noise, attack. If someone tried to reason with her ( highly unlikely, of course ) she'd attack. She's vicious and doesn't quite understand what everything in the world is. But she's so ready to maul anything that gets close.

Adult: Coming to age was something that was weird for the Walker. She didn't know what was going on, but she started to realize what drove her blind rage. Families. She despised them. The family that she saw when she emerged from her basket made her grow enraged. It fueled a sort of pit in her chest making her want to target everything that had to do with families. Be that baskets, eggs, shells, fathers or mothers. Even those adopted into families were her targets. Lone wolves bored her. They were nothing she could really torture. They just didn't have the agonizing scream that this Walker wanted to hear. So she targeted families, aiming to rip everyone apart that she could and leave survivors to guilt and despair.

The basics of any Skinwalker run through her veins. She's a brute; strong and confident and dark. But she's smart. She's clever and manipulative and likes to set traps; and that is one thing that has gotten her several different names. She loses her temper quickly; and easily. One wrong word or move and she snaps from cool and confident to feral beast. From intelligent creature to instinct machine.

Rough Plot ideas:
xxxxx The Birth of a Demon: Abandoned by her mother, a Purewalker lingers inside it's basket. An unlucky family finds the wicker capsule, adopting it as their own. But then when the monster emerges, they are shocked and quickly try to run it off. Thinking she had a mom and dad, the foal was shocked when she was being shoved away. Angered, she attacked, and the family tried to fight her off. But even Walker foals are strong, and this female kills them easily, claiming her first kills.
The Twisting of a Soul: Rather enraged by the rejection, the Walker grew a hatred for families deep in her soul. She quickly realized that families were the worst thing in the world; that they were a way for groups to grow strong. And in that, stronger than her. And that was something she could never allow to happen.
Killing is a Lifestyle, Not a Hobby: She grows up in the forests, stalking small prey at first before moving onto something bigger; a foal or a Usdia. It's then that she realizes just what she is; who she is. She's a Skinwalker; and she's going to be the strongest one yet.
Becoming the Monster: Families anger her more than anything. And with that being said, she wants to destroy them. And there are a few fun ways. She generally likes to kidnap either the mother or a foal or even a basket and hiding it away. And then she plants traps. Digs deep holes or waits to cause an avalanche. Anything to see people be tormented. If they can witness the death of their loved-ones, even better. If not, she abandons baskets randomly throughout the woods, and hunts them down when they have emerged, tormenting them as soon as they are able to be tormented.

Question: If someone you wish to breed your skinwalker with insists on all three breedings being together, how would you explain this in story canon? And How should this be handled in breeding forms?
Answer:

xxxxx Originally Skinwalkers don't form bonds; they don't/wouldn't breed with the same partner multiple times. The only way to do this canonly would be if Skinwalker A thought that Skinwalker B had great genetics, and thought that it would be a good idea to make stronger offspring. In breeding forms it would be multiple flings; NEVER a Lifemate/Lovemate situation. It'd just be a fling after another fling after another fling.

Question: Do Skinwalkers form family units or care what their family thinks?
Answer:

xxxxx Nope. They could care less. Family? Bah! Family is for the weak.

Question: If you have a hard time RPing a skinwalker in character, what can you do?.
Answer:

xxxxx You can talk to Mind or Uta about ways to improve, or even read up on other Purewalker RP's. Even talking to other Purewalker owners could help!

Question: Skinwalkers can, on rare occasions, form packs/herds to organize an attack, but they always break apart shortly afterwards or sometimes even before they manage to stage the raid. What do you think happens to cause these breakups?
Answer:

xxxxx It could happen for several reasons. one could be that there was a power surge; one wanted to be more in charge, and the other didn't approve, and in that they fight and start a fight within the group. Another could be wanting more food, and being selfish. After all, Skinwalkers do not like being around other creatures, and would rather kill each other than be in groups for very long.

Question: In your own words, please explain the nature of Skinwalkers.
Answer:

xxxxx Skinwalkers are dark, angry creatures. They're evil to the core. They don't care about people or families or /love/. They're just plain evil.

Ideas for the foal's Name: Мӧскӓ “The Siren”
( Mocka Means bear in Hill Mari )

Personality:
Mocka is something of a trickster. She loves her music, that glorious sound that comes from the mouths of her victims as she tortures them. Mocka found out as a foal that she took great pleasure in others pain. The more they scream, hollered, wailed… The calmer and happier she became. She learned over time that she had to trick others into her clutches to create the chorus she loved to hear. She did this by learning to create instruments from bones and creating what everyone else would consider ‘true, beautiful’ music.

The filly would earn herself the reputation of being a siren. She would lure the unsuspecting in to their slow and agonizing demise. Mocka is the type to keep her captives/victims alive for long periods of time, especially if she enjoyed their screams. Once in a while she would accidently kill one sooner then she planned, this would anger her. How dare they die and stop giving her the ‘music’ she desired from them, but it also meant that she would have a tasty dinner.

Mocka is definitely stuck up. She isn’t selective with who she captures, but she’ll kill those who don’t make good music quickly. They just ruin the music she likes to create. She does think of herself higher than anyone else. Granted after being left by her mother, she hasn’t met another Purewalker, but she would certainly snub them too! Her music is the only thing she cares about, and it’s what drives her to keep doing what she does.

Being The Siren, also means that Mocka has some good intellect on her side. She had to study, use trial and error to make the instruments out of bones and skinning animals to dry out their hides. There was a lot of trial and error! She always thinks out her ‘concerts’ before she does them, to ensure she is getting the one pony or animal she wants most at that time( If there is one ). Though sometimes she plays just for her own enjoyment - After all, other than screams of agony, she love HER music.

Rough Plot ideas:

Foal

A different craving – finding out as a foal that she wants to eat meat and so she doesn’t mix well with the other local foals
You’re a princess! No, I’m a god. – Mocka can’t make friends as a foal because she knows she’s bette then everyone else.
Instruments – She starts to learn how to make musical instruments from either watching another horse/two leg or hearing stories.
The first time – the first time she lures an animal to it’s death with music

Adult

Siren! That’s my name, don’t wear it out – She learns about the name the locals have given her and she accepts it.
I’ll do anything for you - Capturing a horse that enjoys the torture and wants to serve Mocka.
I don’t share! - Jealousy amongst her followers
This is mine. - A fight over territory
You took it! – An unconsenting breeding from a stronger male.

Question: If someone you wish to breed your skinwalker with insists on all three breedings being together, how would you explain this in story canon? And How should this be handled in breeding forms?
Answer:
It could be explained as having neighboring territories so it’s convenient, the partner might offer a strong sire for children or it could be done by force / or just for the sensation.
On forms, it’s treated as a fling each time~ No lifemating!

Question: Do Skinwalkers form family units or care what their family thinks?
Answer:
Hells no~ They don't feel love, let alone a connection with anyone, even blood.

Question: If you have a hard time RPing a skinwalker in character, what can you do?.
Answer:
You could contact Uta, or talk with the parents owners or other purewalker owners if you feel comfortable. But if RP isn't really your thing, you can also plot.

Question: Skinwalkers can, on rare occasions, form packs/herds to organize an attack, but they always break apart shortly afterwards or sometimes even before they manage to stage the raid. What do you think happens to cause these breakups?
Answer:
Personality clashes / god complex. They're solitary creatures and so they think themselves always right and won't compromise. They want violence.

Question: In your own words, please explain the nature of Skinwalkers.
Answer:
They’re evil, self serving and care only about themselves and what can be done/used to help to achieve their goals. They eat only meat; there is no kindness or forgiving nature to them. They’ll manipulate anyone and kill without hesitation.

Ideas for the foal's Name: Dragen (means Bear in dutch) – Name she took for herself -- it was the last word spoken upon the dying breath of her first victim.

Personality:
I shall give you fear in a pawful of dust.
She is very calculating, strategic, and extremely patient. Dragen could wait years for her plots to unfold and not even grow bored with the idea. When those who help her with her plots have out grown their usefulness, she tortures them, relishing their fear. After the spark has left their eyes, and they are nothing but a shell of their old selves, she devours them, for at that point they are no longer entertaining and only useful as a snack. Sometimes the torture can take months, she enjoys seeing how long it would take to make her victim lose the spark of hope in his or her eyes. The prolonging of torture is a particular skill that has improved with time and she is quite proud of how her creations turn out. Especially if her victim screams, for the sound of screaming is music to her ears; it is the one sound she enjoys above all and would prefer to hear it every day. The bear walker does not only torture those who have lost their usefulness, she also has other victims to entertain her. When she is done with them, she keeps an item of theirs, so she could remember the sweet delicious memories of their fear and pain. During times of relaxation she would walk among the trophies, savoring the distant memories of their screams in vivid detail, for she never forgets a single thought, memory, or event that had occurred since she was born.

Rough Plot ideas:
 Self rp about getting the name Dragen
 Someone to bring offerings to the foal, they will treat her like a vengeful Goddess who could snap at any given notice.
 Her meeting some other foals her age and them barely getting away with their lives.
 More plots that illustrate her strategic planning capabilities.
 Plots with her “tools” – soquili she finds useful to gain information, while she is secretly setting them up to fail to ensure she will have her fun with them later. ((The outcome would be determined by the other owner, if they want their soquili dead, mamed, or whatever))
 These are very tentative and will change as I get a better grasp of her character

The two walkers have neighboring territories, and it would be nothing serious, just a passing fling, that could happen over and over again should the need arise for those types of activities. For this type of arrangement, Selective Permission would be needed each time, since walkers cannot mate nor do they have the desire to do so.

Question: Do Skinwalkers form family units or care what their family thinks?
Answer:
No, they do not form those types of bonds. They hate each other and will always hate each other.

Question: If you have a hard time RPing a skinwalker in character, what can you do?.
Answer:
You can take it out of canon, to PMs or private guilds. When posting on Lover’s Rock say that they need to PM you for plots and personality if they do not fit shop Canon. Also you can choose not to rp the Skinwalker and/or ask the RP Manager for help.

Question: Skinwalkers can, on rare occasions, form packs/herds to organize an attack, but they always break apart shortly afterwards or sometimes even before they manage to stage the raid. What do you think happens to cause these breakups?
Answer:
They are loners by nature and they do not care for others, for the longer they are with them, the more they want to kill them. They do not follow a hierarchal order, and forming groups that have such an organization will not end well. They also do not last in groups due to territorial behavior.

Question: In your own words, please explain the nature of Skinwalkers.
Answer:
They are evil, terrible, vicious creatures who want nothing more than the death and destruction of everyone (except for themselves). There is no remorse in them, many of them torture for fun and relish the fear that emanates from their victims.
