A large golden eye opened to bright sunlight. Gainesh's eye surveyed the area before him from where his head rested upon his claws. He sighed. He'd thought he'd chosen a rather heavily forested area to sleep for the day, but he was sorely mistaken. A beam of direct sunlight illuminated the patch where he'd made his nest for the day, bouncing directly off of the stallions head and shoulders. Gainesh could already feel his body heating up beneath his feathers, and his eyes burning from the brief contact with the light.
Sighing, he rose slowly, stretching out much like a cat, before giving a final shake to settle his feathers. Unhurriedly he let his eyes slide over his surroundings. He'd been with the flock for only a short time, perhaps a few days. Did he regret being caught? Not really. He'd already spent a night or two with a fierce little harpy, and couldn't say he regretted his decision one bit. Currently he found himself somewhere in the whistle stallion zone. He'd wandered a little farther away than necessary, just out of view from the main group of whistle stallions, but he had wanted a peacefully place to spend the day-lit hours. He knew that he was still well within their territory for no one had roused him to move him closer to the other males. Even in his slumber he had been able to pick out the sounds of someone coming to check on him, but they had not made him move.
Giving a large yawn, Gainesh slowly wandered over the little ridge separating him from the group of males. He wasn't close, but at least now they were in view. Quietly he settled himself back down to the forest floor, spreading his wings wide beside him in a somewhat strange fashion. He placed his head back down on his claws and watched them from a distance. Since he couldn't sleep he might as well observe his new companions. Eventually he would have to go and introduce himself to them, but was that day today? No, probably not. Instead the great owl watched bemusedly the antics of an utterly odd society.

One could only wonder why it was that such a handsome fella was not already being occupied for the day. The long feather coated tail flicked behind him, making the fluffy feathers kind of float to a rest at his flank. He didn't know why exactly he had nothing to do today; but he figured it had something to do with some higher power or another wanting him to be here for some other purpose. Assumptions could be dangerous though, right? Shaking the thought off, the Whistler stood up from his current perch in some trees and stretched, his claws flexing slightly. The motion caused the gold chains along his body to make a small jingle noise, before settling once more against his scales and flank. After a moment, he jumped down from the trees, looking around with a rather bored expression on his usually active face.
Lalita was still young, in all aspects of the word. He was just barely a young adult, with a charm that could challenge anyone's control. His energy was endless, and his need for something to amuse him was strong. So the fact that he was bored was not a good thing at all. The stallion glanced around, his head tilting for a moment, before he let out a slightly frustrated sigh. He knew all the other Whistlers; and he didn't want to really talk with them. Not that he didn't like them. But he wanted something more exciting. Something with a thrill, ya know? He could have gone and bugged Kalyana, but he was certain his brother was truly distracted by Vanwyn. Huffing lightly at the thought, he moved away from some of the others, his ears pinning back, before flicking to the side at a noise. He was beginning to wander around the area, seeing if anything was interesting, when a movement caught his attention from the corner of his eye.
Lalita tilted his head to the side, eyes flickering across the trees and toward the movement. It was then that he caught sight of something worth his interest. A large stallion, with the coloration of the owls Lalita saw flying at night. And his wings... They were magnificent. The tip of his tail flicked lightly, and his claws flexed into the earth, before he looked around. No one else seemed to be curious, so it was up to him! Smirking, the cocky stallion turned from his path and moved toward Gainesh, his head held high and his walk more of a strut. He paused when he got within a safe talking distance, before tilting his head to the side to stare down at him. "Now what is a handsome stud like yourself doing over here all on your lonesome? And without me knowing who you are! I take pride in knowing everyone by face, and you don't look familiar at all." He stated matter of factly.

Gainesh had been mentally choosing personalities and back-stories for the stallions before him. He had yet to meet them, so for now he was trying to decide what they were like just from their actions and wondering how they had fallen into the flock's clutches. He couldn't claim to be very good at it, but it was amusing in this time of idleness. And when he finally chose to approach the other's, it would once again be amusing to see how close he came to their actual dispositions.
Gently amused, it took Gainesh a few second's to realize that one of the stallions had moved from his perch up in the trees down to the forest floor. It was a quiet chiming that brought the owl's attention to the stallion, but it was the creature's beauty that kept it. Gainesh let his eyes rove over the stallion. From his clawed feet to his blonde Mohawk, Gainesh examined him. The male exuded grace and charm, with just a hint of cockiness. Gainesh's thoughts ran to how well suited the peacock feathers were for the stallion. He was so busy admiring Lalita, that it took the owl a moment to realize that object of his attention had noticed him and was headed his way.
Should he rise? Should he stay still? Momentarily perplexed Gainesh ended up doing nothing at all as the stallion approached. And nothing at all as he listened to the stallion's words. After a moment the the owl blinked languidly, before focusing his golden gaze on Lalita. "Hmmm, why just admiring the scenery of course...generally it's best to get a feel of the area before you plunge yourself headlong into battle." Gainesh replied in a mild tone. Deciding that he no longer wanted to be in such a vulnerable position before this dazzling stallion, Gainesh gathered his feet beneath himself and rose with a quiet elegance. He was taller than this stallion and although it pleased him to be so, he didn't let it show. Instead he ducked his head, nodding to the stallion, "And I am newly arrived, some three days past, so it is not so odd that we have never crossed paths..." A small grin tugged up the corners of Gainesh's beak as he continued, "...Though I spent most yesterday in the same fashion as today and don't recall seeing you down there."

Lalita's eyes flickered over the stallion when he was closer. He took in the large wings, and for a moment was rather destressed that they were clipped. He'd seen other stallions with wings; and he knew the process. Especially after the last escape that happened within the Flock lands. There was no way that the Sisters would let anyone ( especially someone so handsome ) to have wings that weren't clipped. They were growing more protective of their stallions by the day, it seemed. Not that Lalita minded. He had a good life here, after all! The beak kind of threw him off. He had never seen a creature with a beak on their nose. But it seemed to fit the fluffy stallion. Honestly, Lalita kind of wanted to just bury his face in the feathers and see if they were actually as soft as he imagined.
At the mention of scenery and battle, Lalita glanced around. This place? A battle ground? He snorted out a small laugh. This was probably the most easy going area of the Flock. Even the foals were more tense in their lessons than the Whistlers did on a day to day basis. His tail gave a thoughtful flick, before he focused on the stallion once more. He was standing now, and Lalita had to tilt his head slightly to look up at him. Being part Kirin, he was small in stature. But his personality was big enough to make up for all of that. He pursed his lips slightly, tsking and shaking his head at the mention of dates. Though when Mr. Fluff McHotpants stated that he was there yesterday, Lalita chirped slightly and ducked his head as though embarrassed, scuffing his claws against the ground.
"Ah... Yes.. A Sister had me most the day yesterday. Took me out hunting and then... you know." He shrugged as though it was nothing, which, in turn, it was. He loved servicing the Sisters with his charm and stories, but at the same time, flirting with handsome studs was fun too! His tail gave another small flick, the feathers brushing the ground for a second before falling still. "But three days? No, no. That is just unacceptable. I should have noticed you the moment your claws hit Sister Earth! You're just too stunning to idly miss for three days. I'm rather disappointed in myself, really."

Gainesh ruffled his wings self-consciously now that he was standing. He'd noted how the stallions eyes had lingered on the broken edges of his feathers and how a look of concern had passed over his face. It was quite endearing to the owl that this stranger seemed to care over his pain. For the whole ordeal had been painful. Gainesh flinched away from the thought and set his mind firmly in the present. Which wasn't hard, as the view was quite marvelous indeed...
Gainesh clicked his beak lightly in laughter at Lalita's words. Too Stunning, Him? "Ahhh I believe you may have mistaken my countenance for another's...perhaps you have looked in a pool of water lately and your own reflection is still dazzling your senses?" Delightfully amused at the stallion's words and his, well, flirtations? Gainesh decided to poke a little fun at the charming peacock stallion.
First he focused his golden gaze on the sky blue eyes of the stallion and held his attention for a moment, before dropping his look. Slowly, and quite deliberately he let his eyes wander over the stallion. Mmmm delicious. He savored the beauty before him. Drinking up the sight of the Whistler, before slowly drawing his sight back up to the stallion's. He paused for a moment, then said in his low baritone, "I'm sure the sister must have enjoyed spending time with you yesterday. I dare say I would have found it hard to have let you go at all."

For a moment that intense gaze made him nervous. And Lalita rarely got nervous. As is, never. He couldn't remember the last time he had gotten to the point that his claws dug into the earth and his feathers on his tail ruffled. His scales seemed to glint in the light, as if his shifting on his claws caught the light and bounced off his clean scales. He was rather clean... but that was just because he liked to be! It had nothing to do with who was taking his breath away; and he was never distracted by his own appearance. He knew that he looked a-maz-ing. After all, he didn't wake up before dawn to groom himself for it not to work! But no, he was distracted by this handsome fellow before him, and Lalita had no idea what to do in this situation.
He laughed nervously for the first time in his laugh. His ears flicked back for a fraction of a second before perking up. He peeked up at the owl, staring for a moment, before he took a half step forward. He grinned up at the owl, before shaking his head some and tilted his head to the side. Lalita was good at being seductive without really trying. He had a natural air about him that just allowed him to flirt and be sexy. And that golden gaze that lingered on his body made him instinctively move to look more appealing. He shifted and lifted one of his front legs, the claws closing into a easy-going fist. He seemed to shift his body a bit to show off his best features; scales, feathers, long legs. A smirk shifted over his features by the time the stallion focused once more on his eyes, and he laughed gently.
"Noo. I think it's you, handsome. I've never seen a stallion like you; and I just can't help but admire how big and strong you appear. I mean just look at you..." Lalita took a half step forward, as though daring himself to move into the stallion's space, but instead paused and stayed just a step away. He took a small breath, before blinking slowly toward Gainesh, dipping his head down a little. "Well I guess it's a good thing I'm still in training, isn't it? Or I would have missed my chance to meet a quite striking man, huh?"

Big and strong? Aye, he was definitely that. At Lalita's words, the owl couldn't help but puff out his chest a little larger and stand a little taller. He didn't have the natural seductive qualities that the Whistler had, nor the ability to put his best foot forward, but he did straighten up a little at the praise. And when the peacock stallion moved a bit closer, Gainesh's breath caught in his throat for a second in surprise. Is he planning on making the first move? Surprise, and joy warred inside the owl, replaced by his quiet amusement when the other stallion hesitated. hrmmm... Gainesh was not nearly as reserved now that he was aware that the creature in front of him was, in some way, attracted to him. Though Gainesh thought perhaps this was the first time the peacock had encountered a stallion who returned his sentiments, for his nervous laugh and slight hesitations spoke of his inexperience.
Well. The owl regarded Lalita. Why not?
Gainesh moved slowly, but smoothly as he closed the gap between them. Close, he breathed his next word's to Lalita's ear. "It is a very good thing you are in training, I'd say, for TWO striking men. I'm feeling quite fortunate today indeed..." Gainesh purred, "but pray tell, what should I call you... My Luck?"

Lalita's sharp gaze caught the way that Gainesh puffed up. The way he stood up a little more and seemed to fluff his feathers out. And it took everything Lalita had not to laugh at the movement and shake his head. It was adorable, really; but he shouldn't laugh. If he laughed, it could be taken wrong! He wiggled his nose instead, smiling from under thick eyelashes. His tail gave a small flick behind him, the feathers ruffling slightly. His claws flexed against the earth and he had to keep himself in check. He was, after all, a Whistler. This was their turf! He could handle himself perfectly fine. But at the same time, he felt his heart pounding in his chest, and his breath was a little short. He'd never felt like this before... And it was kind of shocking. The stallion glanced down at his claws for a moment, flexing them again, before looking back up.
And that was when Lalita noted the stallion taking a step forward. Lalita lifted a claw, as if to take a step back and away, but instead just set it back down. He sucked in a sharp breath, his muscles tensing slightly. His ear flicked at the warm breath against his fur, and it took him a few moments before he was certain what was going on. He listened for several moments, before tilting his head down, his face feeling warm. This really was different. He sucked in a sharp breath again, trying to keep himself calm, but the warmth against his ear and the purred words made his skin almost crawl from something he wasn't sure of. He had never felt like this before.
Was this how the Sister's felt when a stallion was with them?
Wiggling his nose, Lalita let out an airy laugh. He flicked his tail again, before ducking his head. "Ah... You can call me whatever you want, handsome. Everyone else calls me Lalita." He breathed, his claws flexing under him again. Nervous habit, really.

He's blushing! Warmth suffused Gainesh and a smirk appeared on his beak as he watched the other stallion duck his head away. He held back a full blown smile, but he couldn't suppress the grin as butterflies danced in his stomach. His body was still, but internally he felt like he had fire in his veins. It was the same feeling he got while hunting. Anticipation and excitement. Well, this is a hunt of sorts, my prey just happens to be a little lovelier, Gainesh mused Though I suppose I can't just pounce on him as I did my meals...Nah, it may be better to let this be a drawn out chase.
"Lalita, Mmmm my Laaaaliiita" Gainesh tested the word, playing it off his tongue. It fit the fancy stallion, as eloquent as the creature himself. For now, Gainesh would use the stallion's given name; he was sure, with time, a suitable nickname would present itself. He had a few in mind already, but more time would be needed to see which one would be the keeper. "Yes, Lalita will do nicely ... for now" Gainesh rumbled. His attention was absorbed by Lalita's ducked head, and he followed the stallion's gaze down to his flexing claws. He yearned to cover one of Lalita's claws with his own, and he would, just not yet. He didn't want to frighten the other stallion off, and the claw flexing seemed like a nervous reaction to Gainesh. He worried that if he pushed any harder it might be the last time he saw the Whistle stallion. He definitely did not want that.
Despite Gainesh's desire to move closer, he began to withdraw. Slowly, he backed up a step, giving the peacock room. He paused, golden eyes gazing at Lalita before him, before giving himself a shake. Much like a wolf shaking off his fur, Gainesh puffed up and shook out his feathers. His wings opening slightly. The movement was a diversion of two sorts. First, it released the tension Gainesh had been carrying in his body; for throughout the exchange he had been getting more wound up from the Whistle stallion. And second, it was meant to eliminate some of the unease Lalita seemed to experiencing. Gainesh hoped the peacock wouldn't flee now that he had a bit more room, so the owl kept his golden gaze fixed on the stallion to see what he would do.

Honestly, Lalita wasn't certain what was going on in his head. Or his body. Or the world around him. On one claw some innocent flirting never hurt anyone! At least not in his book. But then on the other... this stallion. The Harpy Kirin's tail flicked behind him, the feathers shifting in the movement. It almost touched the ground, but seemed to just skirt above it. He rolled his shoulders slightly, listening as Gainesh seemed to purr out his name. It only made his face warm farther. This blush... it was so unusual! He gulped thickly and glanced up toward the owl for a few moments, as if observing him from under some of his bangs. And his? His? It made Lalita's heart pound harder in his chest then he could ever remember!
But then Gainesh seemed to move away. The movement caught Lalita's attention, and his head snapped up to watch the fluffy owl. His ears perked up, and he shifted his weight slightly, claws digging into the earth at the same time. The movement caused the chains on his form to make a small jingle of a noise, before going quiet once more. He watched the stallion for several small moments, occasionally looking around when he thought he saw movement from the corner of his eyes. A shifting bird or moving stallion. Something that caught his attention from the stunning man before him. But in the end, his bright blue orbs always locked back on fluffy feathers and amber eyes. The stallion seemed to stretch his wings, and the movement made Lalita bite his lip as best as any stallion could. He shifted a bit again, before looking down at his claws as if contemplating something.
Fluffing the feathers on his tail, the peacock looked up. Lalita smirked at him, all easy and cocky attitude, before tilting his head. "And what am I to call you, hm?" He purred back, voice dropping slightly in octave. If this stallion wanted to play that game, then Lalita would play. He was a master of it, after all. It was his life. Shifting easily, he moved to walk along the side of the owl. He moved slowly, walking a circle around Gainesh. A somewhat devilish look shifted into his eyes, before the stallion moved closer and pressed himself up against Gainesh, his tail sweeping behind him and rubbing against the back of Gainesh's legs. He tilted his head up, brushing his own velvety nose against the owl's cheek feathers boldly. "My strong, soft, handsome owl? Perhaps something a bit more... forbidden, hm?" Lalita purred, his voice softening to a whisper.
Now to hope that he wasn't getting too bold in front of the stallion.

Gainesh noted Lalita bite his lip, his moment of contemplation and the renewed look of confidence when he lifted his head. The peacock stallion's smirk was infectious and the owl couldn't help but return his grin. It seemed that Lalita had come to a decision... "And what am I to call you, hm?" From the tone of the peacock stallion's voice, it was a decision Gainesh would enjoy indeed. He tracked the Whistle stallion, eyebrows raised, as Lalita did a slow circle of his person. A very close, very intimate circle. Gainesh's mind scampered away into dangerous territory. Tempting, so very tempting. Gainesh stood stock still, frozen by overwhelming emotion. Goosebumps raised along his skin at the brush of Lalita's tail and his eyes widened when the peacock stallion's nose nuzzled his cheek.
What was I thinking, slow drawn out chase? Bah to hell with it! This little peacock was asking for it, and Gainesh was in no position to refuse. Self-restraint was pretty much out the window at this point. His eyes narrowed and his pupils dilated as he listened to the purred and whispered words in his ears. "Beloved," came the owl's breathy response, "Call me beloved." In one slightly shaky motion, he lifted one of his broad wings and blanketed it over the peacock, pulling him in close. At the same time he arched his neck around Lalita, nuzzling his beak into the peacock's fine blonde braids. Inhaling, Gainesh reveled in the scent of Lalita. Mine. A wave of both possessiveness and longing gripped the owl. He didn't want to move, just stay here forever.
It wasn't logical these feelings. They'd just met! And although Gainesh recognized some of what he was feeling as simple lust, he had never felt such need to be with another creature before. He barely knew this stallion, and though it wouldn't be the first time he'd had a spur of the moment tryst, with a stallion no less, he had never, ever, felt anything close to what he did at this moment.
"Well, well, well.... what shall we do now, hmmm? My Lalita, will you share the rest of the day, and perhaps the night with me?" Gainesh whispered. His breath hitched in anticipation as he waited for an answer.

Lalita took a partial side step; just enough that he could see the details on the owl's face. He tilted his head slightly, still smirking and with a partially raised brow. The gold along his body seemed just as pleased as he was, as it glinted and let out small jingle noises with every shift of his lean muscles. His tail gave a small sway, once more brushing against Gainesh's back legs. This was such a strange feeling for him. He'd always been flirty and able to get what he wanted. That was simple. But actually wanting someone? Like... actually. That was totally different, and for Lalita, a little weird. He was so used to just... doing his own thing, and not having to worry what people wanted of him. His relationships with others ( aside from his brother of course ) lasted a day and a night; maybe two if they were lucky. But this... This feeling gave him knots in his stomach and his heart pounded faster. His head felt a little dizzy with worry over being denied and his claws seemed to curl and tap along the ground.
But his voice was breathy, and for some reason Lalita wanted to make sure he made this creature sound like that as much as possible. His ears flickered up, and his tail gave another sway in response. "Beloved... I like it." Lalita mused, his eyes fluttering slightly. The peacock shifted when he felt the wing moving, giving it a bit more space. He blinked toward the fluffy feathers, watching as they laid over his back and made it to where he had to step a little closer. The blush only seemed to intensify at the motion, and he let out a somewhat nervous laugh. His tail flicked, before sweeping behind Gainesh and resting somewhat along his back legs. Lalita tilted his head at the feel of the beak in his hair, letting out a small hum and closing his eyes. It was comforting, for some reason, and he really had no complaints about it. He'd never thought he'd find someone he clicked with so well and so soon and so quickly. And this wasn't Lalita's for show flirting. This was honest, and true, and it slightly frightened him. But he... he couldn't help it. He loved the feel of his body pressed against Gainesh's side and the way the beak moved so gently in his hair. It was a comfort, and he adored it very quickly.
The question caught Lalita's attention, drawing him away from the thoughts of what he was used to compared to this. He blinked owlishly; as ironic as that was. After a moment he tilted his head with a grin, wiggling himself free of the wing to step a few paces ahead. "Well, I have no other appointments for this evening. Unless a Harpy needs me, I am free as can be. And I don't think one will call on me if I prove to be... unavailable. So to answer your question, my Beloved, follow me. My nest isn't too far from here." Lalita winked, grinning at his new found companion, before turning his back to the stallion and started to walk toward the trees, tail flicking behind him every so often.
