Tierra hadn't had a lot of sleep the night before, so she had nodded off as she trudged along. She wasn't even sure where she was heading, she was just trying to keep moving. Everything passing by her was just a fuzzy blur in her mind. She thought she'd passed through a small thicket, and maybe a rocky area at the base of a mountain. There were now cliff walls high above her on either side. She must have gone through a passageway in the mountain. She sleepily looked up, blinking at the bright light of the sun shining down on her. It was now midday. Her body was sore from moving so far, and her mind worn from little sleep. It seemed safe enough here that she would take a short nap, at least long enough to sustain her for the rest of her journey. She found a level, smooth spot in the shade of a overhanging rock and propped herself against the wall before settling herself to sleep. Her eyelids were heavy, and it wasn't long before she had dozed off.

High up on the cliffs dark eyes watched the movement below. The day had worn on, nothing of interest had happened long into the afternoon. The sun was high above the kalona and she had grown bored watching the shadows play about below her. Movement had caught her attention and she watched the creature as it curled up to sleep with a wicked smile playing about her face. She unfurled her wings and leaped from the cliff, spiraling downward slowly, careful not to let her shadow fall across the sleeping creature lest she alert it to her presence. She landed softly mere feet from the strange creature. Wretch looked at her curiously, not sure what to make of her. She'd never seen anything like her. She eyed the dangerous-looking claws warily, but decided she could handle herself against this foe.
She approached slowly, purposely making noise to alert the sleeping creature. "So, you think you can just show up here and take over, huh?" She stood over the other female, her tail thrashing threateningly behind her.

She awoke with a start at the sound of the other mare. She blinked rapidly, trying to wake up. A mare stood over her, the sun behind her casting her shadow over Tierra. "Huh...Wha-- What do you mean take over? I'm just lying here sleeping." she snapped at the mare as she scrambled to her feet. "What, is this spot taken?" She eyed the blue mare, glancing at her horns and wings, and the thrashing tail. She wasn't exactly like herself, but bore many of the same traits.
"Are you Ulun'Suti as well?" she conjectured.

Wretch narrowed her eyes at the other mare, taking measure of her. "Ulun- what?" She started to circle the stranger slowly, her lip curled up in disdain. "I don't know what you are, but this is -my- territory. I won't tolerate any intruders." She particularly was not fond of non-kalona intruders. She had no idea what this ulun'suti creature was, but something about its similarity in appearance to kalona struck the mare profoundly. She felt offended by the very existence of such a bastardization of her race. She snarled and spun around suddenly, whipping her tail around to strike at the other female.

Tierra didn't understand why this mare was so upset about her being here, merely taking a quick nap. "Territory? Really? Wow." she rolled her eyes at the mare. Just as she was about to protest again, the mare spun around, her tail snapping against Tierra's neck. The scales there absorbed the brunt of the attack, but it still stung a bit.
She was shocked that the mare had attacked her, but she wasn't going to take it without a fight. "Hey! What the -?!" she cried, rearing onto her back legs and striking out with her clawed hooves, her wings flapping to keep her balance.Fatal Irony [OOC: I don't mind a bit of bloodshed or scarring, but don't really want to maim either of them.]

She unfurled her wings and leaped into the air, circling around the other mare, diving down from behind, snapping with her vicious teeth and flailing her cloven hooves.

*rolling to see if she is hit* odd - hits; even - miss She felt her claws tear through the other mares flesh, her blood soaking her talons. She landed on all fours again, flapping her wings. The other mare took flight, and began circling overhead. Tierra watched, her eyes squinted against the sunlight behind her. Out of the blinding light, Tierra felt teeth bite into one of her wings and hooves kicked against her neck. She tried to move to get away by ducking down and moving forward. She took took to the air to try and gain the advantage.

There was a sense of satisfaction in the taste of blood and Wretch grinned in delight. As the other mare took wing Wretch landed gracefully, grinning wickedly at the intruder. She ignored the throbbing pain in her shoulder from her own wound as she taunted her adversary. "Not much of a fighter, are you?" She let loose peals of laughter and stretched her wings out, cutting an imposing image as the light filtered through her translucent wing membranes. Moxxiie sorry so short. waiting to see what your girl does lol

Tierra flapped hard, gaining height quickly. She turned in the air, slapping her tail at the mare. She laughed maniacally. "I haven't even gotten started."
EDIT: Tierra caught sight of some loose gravel and sand below the mare's hooves. She concentrated hard on it, using her elemental power to cause a small sandstorm, sending the dust at the other mare. Fatal Irony OOC: Would you be okay with her using her element to cause a small sandstorm from loose gravel and dirt?

Wretch jumped back with alarm, feeling the sting of the pebbles and sand pelting her legs, chest, and face. She closed her eyes against the onslaught and unfurled her wings, rearing up on her hind legs and flapping to try to dispel whatever sorcery this was. She continued to back away, her momentary panic abating. She kept her eyes closed against the stinging sand but listened for the sounds of her opponent in the air. When she felt confident enough to open her eyes without the pain and tears blinding her further she took wing once more, sputtering a curse and spatting out the sand in her mouth. "What magic is this?" she demanded in a gruff voice, no longer amused by the encounter. What other surprises did this strange creature posses? Did she want to find out? She glares balefully at the other mare, trying to assess if if was worth continuing the little spat. She held her ground and her stare, demanding answers with her body language.

"You clearly know nothing about Ulun'Suti. Those of pureblood bare an elemental magic of which they are born." Tierra felt she must defend her race against this clearly uneducated, vengeful mare. The little bit of magic sapped the energy from her, and she felt herself losing the stamina to continue the fight. She decided to try and bluff her way out of any further confrontation. "That was only a taste of what I can do. I suggest you move on before I really have to show you what I can do."

The proud kalona spat on the ground as the other mare called herself "pureblood." The only blood that was pure was kalona blood! Her rage reached its peak as the stranger suggested she "move on." This was Wretch's territory. This outrage could not be tolerated! Forgoing all caution against the unknown powers of this strange creature, Wretch fell into a crouch, growling and snapping her teeth at the other mare. "I don't know, nor do I care what an "ulun-whatever" is. This is MY land and I'm not afraid of your sorcery and tricks!"
Her powerful muscles were coiled and ready, honed by practice and many bloody fights. She launched into an attack, spinning as she flew, kicking out with her hooves as well as her powerful tail, following through on the spin to snap with her fanged teeth.
