Shop Announcements

Hey, everyone! We want to thank everyone while we prepared this announcement; we've got a lot of really important things to go over, including allowing Senshi to be awakened at older ages, updates to the Senshi Information thread, a change to Negaverse naming mechanics, changes to art (including changes to cooldowns), changes to crown token sharing, and information about the new shop mule and how each should be utilized.

Changes to Senshi Age Caps

Our first change is an update to Senshi Age Caps! After extensive discussion we have worked out an option that will allow older Senshi to enter the game! In the same way that Chibi Senshi can awaken from ages 7-13, and our current Senshi can awaken from ages 14-20, this new option will allow older characters to awaken from ages 21-27! This change will not be retroactive; if you already have an awakened senshi, you cannot adjust their ages due to an IC change that affects senshi who awaken between these ages.

The full updates can be found in the Questing Handbook, the Senshi Information Thread, the Dark Mirror Senshi Thread, and the Negaverse Information Thread!

To summarize the updates and clarifications:

Chibi Senshi are awakened before their starseed is capable of manifesting its true power and their body is still growing and adapting. Their starseed has not matured enough to reach full potential, so they awaken with 'trial' powers that allow them to master it and grow with them. Senshi that awaken between the ideal ages of 14-20 do so when the starseed has the most potential to sync and grow with them. Senshi that awaken between ages 21-27 will still have a starseed with the potential to awaken, however the starseed has spent a very influential time in the character's life dormant; this power has been growing but hasn't had an outlet. When a character awakens between age 21-27, their magic will be erratic; it will be stamped by the same means as our typical senshi, however will have an IC understanding that their magic will, for a period of time, be erratic and more difficult to control as they adapt to the harbored energy they have just unleashed.

These characters will have powers that fluctuate erratically, opening the doors to many plot opportunities while also allowing us to ICly explain why this was not ideal/was not encouraged in the past. For their basic stage, their magic may fluctuate between being weaker or stronger than it is stamped; this may occur in RPs or be handwaved as something they note to allow players to utilize their characters to their fullest potential, but it is something that will need to be ICly observed. This will affect them only as a basic senshi; by the time they reach super stage and obtain their first upgrade, they should be considered in sync enough with their starseeds that they can comfortably control their magic. They will need to undergo a very small ritual (something as simple as going to their homeworld prior to upgrading and experiencing something meaningful on their homeworld that allows them to bond with it) in order to obtain mastery of their magic. This will need to be PM’d to the mule just so we can keep track of it!

ICly, there will not be an event or release of this, it is something that will naturally be allowed to occur as need rises. These starseeds are not as ‘loud’ as others, so without something to trigger the starseed a Mauvian may not be able to feel its erratic pulsing as they would any other Senshi who can awaken. Mauvians should be reluctant to awaken a starseed that seems erratic, so these characters should usually be awakened in dire situations that would necessitate the risk. There should be some element of danger that would justify a need to tap into that power! Mauvains should know that erratic starseeds may manifest with dangerous power, so they should handle with care.

The full changes are spoilered below:

    Questing Handbook (Civilian Post)

    Quote:
“Regular Senshi (Order and Chaos) can best awaken between the ages of 14-20. Once a Senshi hits their 21st birthday, they can awaken as a Senshi but will have a slightly different range of abilities while they adjust to awakening. Once a character hits their 28th birthday they are no longer able to awaken. For more information, please read the Senshi post! If your character already awakened but has now aged beyond these numbers, there is no issue! Once the character has accessed the power it doesn’t matter how old they are, they will always have access to it.”

    Questing Handbook (Senshi Post)

    Quote:
“There are some differences in magic, though! White Moon Senshi and Dark Mirror Senshi generally have the same limits in magic, but keep in mind that Corrupted Senshi magic is generally intended to be darker than their White Moon Counterparts.

Chibi Senshi (Senshi awakened between the ages of 7-13) are still senshi in training, so their magic should be weaker than their other Senshi Counterparts. Chibi senshi's magic usually has a shorter duration, weaker effects, or lasts for a shorter time period and can never cause massive damage. These characters will often notice oddities in their magic, such as the magic backfiring, working for shorter durations, or not working at all. Upon reaching their 14th birthday, chibi senshi can complete a ritual that allows them to grow into the power sets regular senshi have.

Senshi that awaken between the ages of 14-20 are the most in tune with their new abilities and will have an easier ability mastering their magic right off the bat.

Senshi that awaken between the ages of 21-27 have had dormant magic for many years with no proper outlet; that magic has accumulated and, once powered up, their magic can be very erratic. These senshi are stamped with the same standards as those that awaken between the ages of 14-20 but will notice extreme fluctuations with their magic. In roleplay, their magic may be either weaker than what is stamped, may backfire and attack them or allies, may have a shorter duration, or may manifest as a supercharged attack that is very powerful but very draining. More information can be found on this in the Faction Information Threads. Characters who are quested to awaken as Senshi at this age must understand that this is a temporary side effect of their characters awakening after their magic has been dormant for so long; by super stage they should have control over their magic but they will need complete a ritual on their homeworld to completely harness their magic.”

    Corrupted Senshi Information

    Quote:
Corrupted Senshi are somewhat of a rarity among the ranks of the Negaverse; Senshi are traditionally considered enemies and so some Agents may still look down on Corrupted Senshi despite their allegiance to the Negaverse. Their power level and abilities are on par with the White Moon Senshi, however have several notable differences—the most prominent being a hole in their chest and forehead, and the ability to have generally darker/more dangerous magic. Unlike White Moon Senshi, they do not have any past life memories and cannot teleport to their homeworld. Like Negaverse Agents, they are sorted into branches and given the same general responsibilities dependent on their rank, but unlike them, they do not have weapons. Instead, they have senshi magic.

Chibi Senshi cannot be corrupted into Corrupted Senshi, nor can a character awaken as a Chibi Corrupted Senshi. All Corrupted Senshi should awaken between the ages of 14-27, however any Senshi that are awakened between ages 21-27 will have noticeably fluctuating magic. This may mean that their magic manifests weaker than how it is stamped but has more uses, it may manifest in such a way that it attacks the wrong target, it may manifest with a more powerful effect but at the cost of reduced uses or draining the senshi to near exhaustion. These oddities may be handwaved so they don't occur in RP but should be noted by the character. By Super stage these oddities will disappear, however a ritual of the player’s discretion will need to be performed prior to unlocking magical stability. This may included venturing into the Rift with a chaperone, consuming a starseed, working with a General Sovereign, etc. This ritual just needs to show your senshi becoming more in tune with their magic; you must PM the mule for approval, though!

    Dark Mirror Senshi

    Quote:
Chibi Senshi cannot be corrupted into the Dark Mirror Court, nor can a character awaken as a Chibi Dark Mirror Senshi. All Dark Mirror Senshi should awaken between the ages of 14-27, however any Senshi that are awakened between ages 21-27 will have noticeably fluctuating magic. This will mean taking time in Mirrorspace and performing some sort of ritual, no matter how big or small you desire, relevant to a player or their character. This ritual just needs to show your senshi becoming more in tune with their magic; you must PM the mule for approval, though!

    White Moon Senshi
    See below!

FAQs (Added to the Faction Information Threads: Senshi Thread FAQ, DMC Senshi Thread FAQ, and Negaverse Thread FAQ; Mauvian Thread FAQ also has the question about Awakening Senshi)

    Quote:
    • What should Senshi that awaken after age 20 expect?
Senshi can awaken between the ages of 21-27 and can expect an erratic fluctuation to their magic. They will not suffer any permanent consequences; by super stage, the character should be in sync with their magic but must submit a ritual that their character undergoes upon growing. There are only very rare situations where a Super Senshi would still not be in tune with their magic, but if you have any questions or need assistance with a ritual, please PM The Space Cauldron and the staff will work with you!

    • What are the differences in awakening a Senshi between ages 21-27 compared to other Senshi?
The Senshi should be in danger for their starseed to be sensed by a Mauvian; their starseed has the potential to have the same power as any other Senshi, however because it has been repressed for so long it is more difficult to feel it. Mauvians should understand that it is dangerous to awaken any starseed that fluctuates in the way that these starseeds to, so awakening one needs to be necessitated by some risk. The actual awakening feels no different and takes no more energy unless a player desires; these starseeds function erratically so there is wiggle room depending on plot and desire of players.

    • Do Senshi between ages 21-27 have noticeably different energy signatures from other Senshi?
Not necessarily; because their energy is constantly fluctuating during their basic stage, a player may have their energy signature occasionally seem stronger or weaker but this is not a necessity. Because these senshi should have become more in sync with their starseed and magic by Super Stage, once they grow and complete their ritual their energy signature should be identical to other Senshi.

    Senshi Faction Information Thread Update

All of our Faction threads are a little out of date, so we are working on updating them to be more relevant! First on our list is White Moon Senshi! The entire thread has gotten updates, some as little as rewording things to be more straight forward, however we also have some entirely new posts! We did our best to plug in as much information as we could, so if you have a White Moon Senshi or are interested in the faction, please just give it a look over!

The new posts include information on Senshi Accessories (Phones and Pens) and Senshi Homeworlds, and there have been heavy updates to the Senshi introduction post and information on the Moon City. The FAQ contains modified questions from MQ&A that we couldn't plug into the information thread. If you have any questions, please feel free to PM The Space Cauldron or ask in the MQ&A!

    Negaverse Naming Mechanic Updates

Previously, Negaverse characters needed to have unique mineral names. We judged this by chemical formula. This can be a time consuming, frustrating process for all involved so to save time and prevent fewer mistakes, we are adjusting the rule so that this is no longer necessary. Instead, Negaverse names simply need to be unique. Alternate names or names given to color variations of minerals already in play will be permitted, however there will be some things to keep in mind.

The mineral name must be completely unique; for example, 'Diamond' could not be in play as well as 'Pink Diamond' because they still share the name 'Diamond'. Alternate names of canon characters may not be approved so please try to avoid these. Synthetic minerals, rocks, and elements are still not permissible as Negaverse names; all Negaverse agent names must be minerals. Please try to be respectful of players who have a mineral in play if you are choosing an alternate name for the mineral by making sure design elements don't overlap without permission.

    Art Changes

    Magic on Art

This is a small change, but we have clarified our rules to permit small magical elements to appear on artwork at artist discretion! This can be a small element that is in some way tied to the visual effects of your character's magic or sphere; it should not be a full attack nor should it dominate the artwork. The Custom Procedure Thread has been edited to include this line about it:

      Quote:
    • Small magical elements can appear on official artwork, but this must be in some way tied to the visual effects of your character's magic or sphere. This should not depict a full attack nor should it dominate the artwork. Artists may or may not choose to include this upon request; it is not guaranteed to appear on artwork if requested.

    Policy Changes

As our shop has grown, we’ve had the opportunity to see many wonderful characters come into play, however each new character is guaranteed at least three pieces of art. This has created a large workload and has put a lot of pressure on our artists to maintain these additional pieces of art. To make the workload more manageable, we need to implement some changes to our current system. We understand that this may cause disappointment or frustrations, but we hope everyone can understand that this is a necessary change to ease the art burden within the shop. Our artists all volunteer their time and skill to the shop, and they are presently extremely overburdened. In an effort to maintain the shop and ease things, we will be implementing the following changes:

    Cooldowns

    • The Cooldown for getting a new powered character is extending from three months to six months
    • The cooldown for Alternate Powered Art is extending from three months to six months.
    • Paid civilian art cooldown and free civilian art cooldowns will now be considered simply ‘civilian cooldowns’
    • The cooldown for civilians (new civilian or all civilian, full custom or schoolkid) is extending from one month to three months
    • If you elect to get civilian art at the time you receive a new powered character, you will also go on cooldown for civilian art. If you are already on civilian cooldown you will not be eligible to get more civilian art, so please plan accordingly!

Characters who are exempt from these cooldowns include characters won in bribes, auctions, concept contests, RLC, Quest Fairies, rehomes, and meta events. Rules for winning raffle characters will be posted in each raffle! These changes will only affect new art claims; anyone presently on cooldown will finish out the remainder of their duration as if nothing has changed; they will only be affected the next time they obtain new art.

    Crown Tokens

Crown Tokens will no longer be shareable; we will be releasing some new crown token purchases in the near future that will help explain why this is an important decision moving forward. Crown Tokens were meant to reward players for reaching certain accomplishments, and we are still very proud of the system but we need to ensure that our artists have a little more time between claims. By removing the ability to share Crown Tokens, we will also be able to introduce more Crown Token opportunities to the shop without fear of bursts of claims that overwhelm artists in a short period of time. You may still purchase art or new characters for another player, but you cannot gift or share your credits!

If a player has borrowed Crown Tokens, they will be able to repay them! When you post to pay back the borrowed credits, please just quote the claim where the credits were borrowed. If you are having a difficult time finding the post, please speak to the moderator in charge of the thread and they will be able to assist you!

For the sake of transparency: the credits staff members earn through doing shop work have also been updated to follow these same rules!

    Mule Changes

Additionally, we are ready to implement our second mule! As our shop has continued to grow, we've had a lot more PMs coming in. The sheer volume can make it difficult to sort through and sometimes makes things more difficult to keep up with. To simplify this and allow things to be better organized, we are utilizing two mules.

The Space Cauldron should be used for general shop inquiries and suggestions, rule clarifications, character changes, and plots.

In the Name of the Mule should be utilized for fourth stage nominations, artist hiring applications, art inquiries (guidelines questions, owed art, artist updates), all matters related to grab bag slots, and player or staff concerns.

If you aren't sure which mule to use, please use your best judgment! We have updated the Read First thread, the Guild Description page, and the Front page with this information, as well as all relevant threads! Please double check the information pages of any thread that requires you to quote or PM a mule to make sure it's going to the right one!

Hey, everyone!

Thank you for your patience while we took some time to finish a few projects! There are more on the way and we are working hard to get everything up to date so we can release our next meta! We have a few updates we'd like to touch on as well as information about our Halloween Event!

Deep Space Subforum

The Deep Space Subforum had gotten very out of date, so we have some heavy updates here! The [INFO] Castles of the Distant Past... has been renamed [INFO] Welcome to Deep Space; we have included updated information about the present state of Senshi Homeworlds and Knight Wonders, as well as information on Past Life Memories, World Building, Ancestors/Descended Knights and general rules. We have also completely updated the FAQ to incorporate all relevant questions from our MQ&A and general inquiries!

The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy thread has been archived; if you have information you want to share about your character's past life world, please post it in the Galactic Almanac located in the Realms of the Past subforum! While we may make a new thread for Past Life World logs with more space for information in the future, this will be the best place to log your information for the time being! A new thread has been set up in the Deep Space Subforum to log the current state of worlds! If you want to share the status of your world as is, or see where others are at, please check out the [INFO] Cosmic Almanac (Present Day) thread! We have also included some new information for the NPC Knight Planets; because Knights can travel between Wonders, we wanted to better paint the picture of the status of the NPC Worlds! Anyone with a PC Royal that also wishes to have an information post about this should please contact the mule so we can work with them on getting that added! We have also moved the Moon City Information to this thread and have made an adjustment to Moon Pearls, which now can be utilized by any Order character, not just Senshi!

The [INFO] Technology Guidelines for Senshi Civilizations has been archived; the information has been plugged into the main information thread in the subforum!

The Order Database

The Order Database has been set up! This feature can be used by all Order Characters to record relevant information to be shared with others. It is replacing the old [SENSHI] The Negaverse Database thread, which has now been archived.

[INFO] IC RP Items

The [Info] IC RP Items has been a little out of date for a while, but we have added new posts with new information to include all of our items! The items are organized into several posts, including all of our Single Use RP Items (including battle items), Limited Edition RP Items (typically single used RP items that could only be obtained during a limited period of time), Permanent Accessories, and Player Distributed Items (which also includes a little bit of information on how your character can give out items they/you create, either regularly or in specific events).

[EVENT] Halloween 2019

User Image

Finally, Halloween is here! To earn tickets for this year’s raffle you will need to participate in special event roleplays and prompts. Our artists have prepared some great prizes and we may have more to release before the end of the event, but you can also win Crown Tokens, Growth Items, and RP Items, including a few new ones limited for this event only!

Roleplay opportunities will only be open from now until ~6pm EST on October 28th so head over to our Halloween Event Information Thread for full details and a list of our current prompts! Remember, all roleplays (or solos!) should be posted in the Mini-Event forum! Please make sure to read the rules on how many tickets can be claimed!

We hope everyone has fun! If you have any questions, please send them to The Space Cauldron!

We will have more releases in the near future, please look forward to announcements for additional updates as we prepare for our meta!

Hey, everyone! Updates have been a long time coming, and we have a lot more on the way! For now we'd like to announce a few things!

Meta Summary

Firstly, the Meta Summary has been updated to include summaries of our most recent metas. Some meta event threads were still stickied so we have unstickied and moved them to the proper subforums; we have a few more left to move and will be working through them by the end of this week to help clean things up a bit. If you want to reread any of these, you will be able to find their links in the Meta Summary! We are working to update the entire meta thread to include links and clearer summaries for all previous events as well!

Disposables

We have also updated our rules on Disposable Characters. Previously, you needed approval for every disposable character you intended to play in your roleplays, but the rules have been updated to make utilizing them easier. We still ask that everyone be aware of the disposable rules before incorporating them into your plots, but moving forward you will not need approval for an NPC that is intended to perish by the end of your roleplay or solo. If your character is killing multiple NPCs in a single RP or solo or if they are killing multiple NPCs in a short time period, you will need approval for this and should either utilize the Disposable Information thread or contact the shop mule, The Space Cauldron, so we can approve your plot.

If you require a powered disposable that is intended to be played over the course of several RPs and which will eventually end in their demise, please contact The Space Cauldron to discuss plot details.

While 'disposable' predominantly means that the character must die, there are some exceptions to this. The character should be put out of play after serving their plot purpose. If you require the character to remain alive and/or may need them for a later plot this should always be discussed with the mule before introducing them to gameplay. Civilian characters are the sole exception to this; you may still freely play NPC characters that serve as relevant background characters to your character's life (such as family, coworkers, friends, etc).

When using a powered disposable, please double check to ensure that you are following the guidelines! These characters cannot claim any valid name, sphere, or wonder and can be any rank but fourth stage. If you have any questions, please contact the shop mule so we can help!

Knight Updates

We have made a few changes for knights; while some of the changes are enhancements and expansions for Royal Knights, we also have an update for pages:

Previously, Knights could only access use of their planetary aspect once they had reached Squire stage. Because Pages only have weak weapons and no access to magical abilities, this has been lifted so that Pages may now utilize their planetary aspects after their first visit to their Wonder. This has been updated in the Knight Information Thread! Pages will need to visit their Wonder to unlock the Aspect at this stage, but all other Knights will have immediate access as it has been in the past.

Royal Knights will be able to unlock the ability to shift between their fourth stage and third stage forms, just as Royal Senshi can! This information can be found in the Knight Information Thread as well as the Knight Quest Thread. For a Royal Knight to gain the ability to shift between forms, they must complete any quest the player desires and visit the Code Piece on their Wonder. This quest can be as small or as significant as the player desires, and may be simply exploring, recovering a memory, or performing some duty or ritual--as long as it has some significant to either your character, their Wonder, or the lore of their world. This does not need plot approval from the mule to be performed unless the player wishes to have a conversation with the Code Piece on their Wonder. If they do not wish to have a conversation, they will simply feel the warmth of their Wonder when they visit the Code Piece at its core and they will unlock the ability to power up into their Knight stage and shift between that and their Royal Knight forms. This ability will also be unlockable for General Sovereigns in the future and we will have more information in a future update!

Order Fourth Stage Updates

All fourth stage Order characters will have the ability to provide extra protection to a starseed that is ready to head back to the Cauldron. Upon coming into contact with a starseed that no can no longer return to its body, a Royal Knight or Senshi can sacrifice a small bit of their energy to provide a blessing of protection for the starseed before it begins its journey back to the Cauldron. This provides a small bubble around the starseed that serves as a magical shield, protecting it from outside threats. They are also granted increased speed to aid them in their journey back to the Cauldron.

While the starseed is granted increased durability and speed, the extra magic also allows the starseed the strength to speak one last final message. The starseed's owner can manifest as a ghostly apparition to deliver one final departing message to whoever was sending it off. The magic is enough to deliver one final message to the Royal Knight or Senshi, typically in the form of one final request, a word of thanks, a last goodbye, or some other meaningful message. There is not enough energy to allow for a conversation, but this would allow the Royal Knight or Senshi to see who the starseed belonged to and give them one last chance for closure.

If it is an unpowered civilian character, they will manifest as their civilian self; if it is a powered character, they can manifest as either or shift forms before the Royal Knight or Senshi to reveal their civilian identity if desired. If a disposable character is being used, please make sure to follow disposable rules and avoid using any real names or mentioning any spheres for these characters.

The final message should not reveal canon or meta information outside of what is ICly known, and the message will typically last for only a few seconds and typically not be more than a sentence or two; if there is need for anything longer, please contact the mule for plot approval!

This technique and ability is first discovered by Camelot, and our thanks goes to Lith for proposing the ability!

FAQ Updates

We are working on plugging in questions from our MQ&A thread into the relevant information threads, but we've also had some questions asked outside of the MQ&A that we wanted to share answers for! These are also being plugged into the relevant information thread but because they were asked in other venues we wanted to bring a bit of public attention to them so they didn't get missed just going into the information threads!

Quote:
Do personal youma owned by an agent at Captain stage grow in strength as well when the agent reaches General Stage? Does it differ between NPC youma and PC youma?

A personal youma, regardless of if it is an NPC or official shop owned character, is not guaranteed to grow stronger when their bonded agent grows in rank. Youma do not have growth requirements and should be expected to only have the power they were initially approved. However, a player may submit a revision to increase their youma's strength if they feel like it is ICly warranted! If the youma's bonded agent grows in rank, this is often a good opportunity for the youma to grow as well, however because it is not guaranteed and needs approval, the player will need to contact The Space Cauldron to explain why they feel their youma may need more power. Youma that are not bonded to an agent may also submit a request to grow in strength or have altered abilities, particularly if the youma has been around for a while or has been very active. In any instance, a plot of some sort to ICly explain the changes will need to be submitted along with the proposed changes so the staff can work with the player!

Under any circumstance, can a Captain teleport with someone?
Teleporting while carrying others is predominantly reserved for Generals simply because they have the strength to do so with ease. Negaverse Agents only gain the ability to teleport at Captain stage, and teleporing themselves alone is incredibly draining when they are first learning to use the ability. However, with practice, a Captain will be able to teleport with ease eventually. The more they practice, the more durable they become, so much so that an experienced Captain may teleport up to one other person with them. This will always be incredibly draining; the first few instances may result in a Captain falling unconscious or being too exhausted to do anything else. While they may eventually build up resistance, a Captain will never be able to easily teleport someone with them and it will always be a significant strain on their body, though after enough practice they will still be able to function afterwards. A Captain is unable to teleport more than one person with them, no matter how experienced they are.

Can Negaverse characters bring guests from other factions into the Dark Kingdom? The Rift?

Under no circumstances should anyone be taken to the Rift unless it is to be devoured by youma; some youma in the Rift are so volatile that they will attack even Negaverse Agents. Anyone who is not specifically a member of the Negaverse and linked to Metallia will be immediately targeted. No one should be brought to the Dark Kingdom unless there is a plot approved reason; even Dark Mirror Senshi are not allowed here with a chaperone. There is too much of a threat of someone leaving with the wrong information. While there are very rare circumstances where this may be allowed for plotting purposes, such as for a corruption, bringing guests is highly frowned upon and may result in punishment of the agent and death of the guest. Metallia can sense when someone not under her rule enters and will immediately send Agents to intervene.

Can opposing factions know civilian identities? Even if they are aware of the risk?
No; regardless of circumstances, no powered character can know the civilian identity of a powered character on the other side. Because this has the potential to be a game-breaking mechanic, a magical glamour will active if someone learns the civilian identity of someone on the enemy faction, regardless of their relationship with each other. This glamour may activate immediately upon discovery or may activate as late as one week after the discovery is made. This allows for characters considering a side swap to perform plots within a reasonable time period. Even if a character is not side swapping, they will receive a new civilian glamour if theirs is ever compromised. If they do not side swap and simply have a compromised identity, they will keep all of their memories but will adopt a new civilian appearance and identity. There is no exception to this; any Order character cannot learn a Chaos character's civilian identity, or vice versa.

We have more updates and events on the way, including a release for Mauvians that is in development, updates and reformatting for some of our existing information threads, and clearing up how cluttered some of our subforums have gotten. We will have more information on these as we near completion of our projects. We anticipate running a meta this year and just need to get a few things straightened out before we can move more into that, but it's a project we are very passionate about and intend to release in the upcoming months! Thank you all for your patience and we look forward to the future!

Hey, everyone!

We've recently received some inquiries regarding how COVID-19 would be impacting Destiny City. Our shop typically operates in real-time, however after consideration we have determined that for the time being we are operating as if this threat has not been introduced to our roleplay environment. There are many uncertainties regarding how this will affect our players' lives and we want to provide a safe place away from the stress and hardships some of our players are already facing.

If you have roleplays that reference any sort of sickness and you are unable to adjust the content, please contact the shop mule, The Space Cauldron, so we can work with you on a reasonable plot that will be consistent with our in-game happenings. We appreciate everyone's understanding and wish everyone the best. Stay safe and take care of yourselves!

Additionally, we are currently working on several large changes within the shop and hope to have information regarding these changes in the near future. While we will have an announcement in the near future to detail our larger projects, the Moderator Staff is presently has a few open projects, including:

  • DMC Compact Updates
  • Mauvian Playability Updates
  • Disposable Character Thread Revision
  • Knight Quest Thread Revision
  • Meta Summary Expansion/Links

There are many projects that need to be completed and released for our shop, and are in various stages of completion aside from the list. While we have many open projects we understand that we do not always see everything that needs immediate attention. We would like to ask that, if any player sees a thread that seems out of date, or if they have any information they would like expanded on, to please send a PM to the shop mule, In the Name of the Mule! At this point in time we are specifically looking for threads that need to be updated/information that needs to be included! Links to specific threads and requests for specific information would be incredibly helpful at this time, so if there is something you know you want to see or that you think could benefit from being cleaned up, please help us and let us know!

We are still planning to run our meta, however need to cross a few hurdles before we can begin that. Major faction plots are not on hold but we are working towards ensuring our shop is up to date and has as much information readily available to our players as possible before we progress into expanding storylines and factions too greatly.

We want to thank you all for your continued patience and participation; we are optimistic at what the future will bring and are grateful to have so many wonderful players involved in our community.

Hello, everyone!

We are excited to announce a few changes to the shop! We’ve had some time to review our current policies and requirements and we have some pretty heavy revisions we want to lay out. First, we want to take this opportunity to thank all of our players for being so patient, and to thank all of our staff for working so hard for the shop. We wouldn’t be what we are without everyone, and we will always do our best to make the shop a fun, engaging environment where people can relax and have fun.

We have a few big changes releasing in this announcement, including removing the requirement for civilians to have art, a free civilian event, reducing cooldowns, updating our hiring thread (and allowing more art styles), and a trial release for Make Your Own (MYO) Art Slots.

Civilian Art Changes

We know it’s been difficult to get new characters lately, and we understand that some people have had difficulties with their growths or have put off getting art of their characters for fear of overburdening our artists. After consideration, we will be removing the requirement for civilian characters to have art. This means that, once you acquire a slot, as soon as the character is stamped you may begin playing them as civilians. You can still acquire art for your civilian character, however you will be able to purchase non-arted civilians for a single crown token. If you wish to acquire art for these characters at a later date, you can simply purchase alternate civilian art for them. These civilians can be upgraded to powered characters in the same way, for the same price, as civilians purchased with art. At this point in time, all powered characters still require art.

In addition to removing the requirement for civilian characters to have art, we are also revising our stance on new players; new players will be eligible for their first civilian character to be free; new players must set up a civilian only profile (no powered side) and can post in the ‘acquired’ slots with a note that they are a new player. Their civilian will not come with art, but it will guarantee that they can begin playing immediately after being stamped; this is being treated as an event character and will not put them on cooldown. New players aren’t the only ones to get something out of this update! All of our existing players are eligible to claim one new non-arted civilian as well! This character will be exempt from cooldowns; to find more information, please visit this thread!

Crown Tokens

There will be some further adjustment to Crown Tokens in the near future, however for the time being we have the following changes:

  • One Star-Candy, Luna-P, or Henshin Pen: Previously 2 Crown Tokens; now 1 Crown Token
  • New Non-Arted Civilian Character: 2 Crown Tokens
  • New Powered Character without Civilian Art (Common): 8 Crown Tokens
  • New Powered Character without Civilian Art (Rare): 11
  • New Guardian Cat: Previously 25, now 15 Crown Tokens

Cooldowns

Our present cooldowns often wind up limiting plots and can make it difficult to acquire new characters in a reasonable amount of time. We want to make new characters accessible to our players without overburdening our artists. For the time being, we are reducing all cooldowns, however we ask that players seriously consider their availability to play new characters before purchasing them. This is not to discourage players with a genuine interest in pursuing new plots, but rather to encourage players with extensive rosters to utilize characters they may not be active with before acquiring new characters. At present, the shop does not want to implement a character cap so we ask that players try to grow characters as often, or more often, than they are acquiring new characters. We will reassess cooldowns and caps at a later date pending review of this adjustment!

  • Instead of one new powered character every six months, you may get one new powered character every three months.
  • Instead of one piece of alternate powered art every six months, you may get one every three months. Alternate Powered art has a separate cooldown than new powered art, so being on a list for either of them does not lock you out from acquiring the other.
  • Instead of one new civilian character or alternate civilian art every three months, the cooldown is reduced to only one month . Alternate civilian art is on the same cooldown as new civilian, so you may only get one of either in this one month time period. New non-arted civilian characters will go on this same cooldown. Please remember that if you get civilian art at the same time you receive a new powered character, you will also go on cooldown for civilian art. If you are already on civilian cooldown you will not be eligible to get more civilian art, so please plan accordingly!

Hiring Thread Updates and Art Changes

Our hiring thread has been updated to be more consistent with current rules and to provide more information to interested applicants. Artist hiring is always open and moderator hiring will be open for the next two weeks. Any interested candidates can head over there for information on how to apply!

One of the major changes to art requirements is that the shop is willing to open up to new styles! While the full information can be found in the hiring thread, one of the major changes is that we are no longer requiring people to match our template style exactly; we are still looking for artists who are able to work in a style that compliments the templates, or who are willing to recolor templates they work on to maintain a cohesive style. While we traditionally operate in a soft shaded style, we are open minded to artists that prefer to color using cel shading, hard shading, or realistic shading--as long as it retains an anime influence and compliments our existing styles or can compliment reshaded templates provided by the artist utilizing our lines.

In addition to this, the shop has opened up a new position for unique artists only; these artists do not need to work on templates and will be permitted to do unique art in their own style. This style must still be full-color, full-body, anime inspired, and comparable in quality to our existing art. Full information can be found in the hiring thread!

MYO Art Slots

Make Your Own Art Slots are being introduced to our shop through a tentative experimental release where players will be able to sign up for a free MYO Slot. Pending the results of this experimental release and player feedback, the following information may change when released in a greater capacity for the shop. For the sake of the experimental release, we will be utilizing the following for MYO Slots!

An MYO Slot will serve as a pass that allows players to acquire custom art from a source outside of our official In the Name of the Moon artists. This art will be considered valid art that can be put on icons and certed, though the artist doing the art (be it the player, a friend, or an artist they have commissioned) must be made aware of the intent and purpose of the art, and the extent at which it will be used.

All MYO art should be unique art created specifically for the player; this means that fanart or art found online will not be considered valid, however if the player has purchased an adoptable that meets uniform guidelines they will be permitted to use that.

Art must meet certain guidelines to be usable: the art must be considered the same or similar quality to current shop art; it can be a different style but should be anime inspired and should be a finished, full colored, shaded piece. Super deformed chibi art and stick figure art will not be considered valid. All art must be full body and should have a transparent background. Art must be within faction uniform guidelines; players will need to send a sketch to the shop for approval. If the uniform is not within guidelines, it will need to be changed before it can be used. A WIP at sketch stage should be sent to the shop mule, In the Name of the Mule, and a player may contact a GM over discord to let them know that the PM has been sent so it can be shared with art staff immediately for approval. The art will be posted as soon as possible and approval or necessary changes will be sent within 24 hours so the artist can make necessary changes and complete the art. If the staff fails to correct a uniform discrepancy during the approval stage and it appears on the finished art, that is fault of the staff and the player will still be able to utilize the art (provided the mistake is corrected in the next stage) ; if the staff requires the art to be changed during the sketch stage and clearly outlines this in the response and it is not changed, the art cannot be used until it is corrected.

After the trial run, MYO Slots are anticipated to be available to the shop through a number of ways, including Crown Tokens/Credits, Raffles or Auctions, Quest Fairies, Event Prizes, or RL Slots, however distribution is pending the trial run of these Slots. For transparency, as they have been considered, RL Slots are not designed for profit of any member of staff and will be clearly utilized solely for the benefit of the shop and will be put towards necessities such as hosting or graphics.

The introduction of MYO Slots makes getting unique, custom art for characters optional! Players who are currently growing on templates, and who wish to get new characters on templates, will be able to! Nothing is changing regarding our templated art, except that civilians will no longer require art. After the trial period concludes and the shop has gathered the necessary information to plan a full release, players are anticipated to have the option to use MYO Slots to grow their characters off of templates, get new characters, or get alt art for existing stages. Because MYO Slots require less work from shop staff, they are anticipated to be released for lower prices should a player choose to pursue them.

If you are interested in participating in the Free MYO Trial Event, please head over here for more information!

Congratulations, Mauvians!

Through your valiant efforts, you have not only returned to your natural forms, you have also unlocked the ability to access a human civilian glamour for a few hours a day!

After finding a long-lost Mauvian space Capsule and defeating a faulty defense system, Mauvians uncovered a blueprint to create a small transformation pen. This keychain sized pen can be customized into whatever design your Mauvian prefers. By pressing the button on the tip of the miniature pen, Mauvians will be able to initiate the transformation into their human civilian glamour; to transform back they simply need to press it again. This blueprint is permanently available in both the Order and Chaos Mauvian Databases so all new Mauvians have access to creating it. You may handwave your Mauvian creating this item!

Mauvians who have met growth requirements and unlocked their powered humanoid form may access this human civilian glamour for up to three hours a day; if a Mauvian has not reached growth requirements to unlock the next stage, they can access their human civilian glamour for up to one hour. While in this form, Mauvians will appear completely human and will not have access to any magical abilities; they will not have any energy signature, will not be able to sense, awaken, or upgrade senshi, will not be able to use their laser, and will not be able to access any other Mauvian specific abilities. They may customize their civilian attire as often as they want, however they will always appear as the same human in this glamour. They will not be identifiable as Mauvians even if they resemble their humanoid form.

Transforming between forms will not cost them any energy, so they can switch as often as they like, but as soon as they run out of their daily energy to maintain a human glamour, they will automatically revert back to their Mauvian form.

This information can be found in the Mauvian Faction Information and we will be working to update that and other information threads in the near future!

We also want to thank everyone for participating in our Trial MYOs! We will be reviewing survey responses and planning on how to release these in the future. Additionally, if you're looking for some summer fun, the Destiny City Star Festival is right around the corner so keep your eyes peeled for that!

Hey, everyone!

Thank you so much for your patience recently! We've been working on a few projects and have more on the horizon! First, we want to thank everyone who participated in our trial MYOs! Thanks to the feedback, we are ready to implement MYOs on a permanent basis! There's a lot of information to take in, so if you are intersted in MYO Slots, please check out this thread!

In addition to that, we have a few changes, including an update to our Crown Tokens! The Crown Token exchange now includes the costs for new MYO characters and art and new rare characters, like half youma and youma. We also have some changes to how we define 'rare characters' and how you can obtain them. Moving forward, a common character is any human character with three guaranteed stages of art, including White Moon Senshi, Chibi Senshi, Negaverse Agents, Knights, Dark Mirror Senshi, and Corrupted Senshi. A rare character is any non-human character, including Youma, Half-Youma, and Mauvians. You cannot obtain a rare character unless you have been an active member of the shop for one year or you have posted to grow at least one character to third stage. Players claiming first stage Half-Youma must also send in an approved plot prior to playing their character. We strongly encourage anyone interested in obtaining a half-youma or youma character to read both the Negaverse Information thread and the side-swapping thread before committing to one of these characters and, if possible, to PM the RP staff if you have an idea for their backstory to be approved before claiming. If you already have one of these characters and do not have a third stage character or have not been a member of the shop, that's fine! You are grandfathered in! But, moving forward, you must meet these requirements to claim other rare characters.

In an effort to improve and expand our information, we have archived two vital threads--the [UPGRADE] Templated Art and the [UPGRADE] Unique Art -- Natsube threads. Both threads are moved to the 'Archived' subforum and link back to the current, new threads. Rather than just update these threads with new information, we made new threads that would allow us to reserve more posts and have more information immediately available. The 'Unique Art - Natsube' thread is very limited and, as Natsube is no longer a member of the shop in the capacity that she once was, if you are growing through Natsube you will use the new Unique Art thread, which has been designed for all MYO artist growths. The new links are as follows: [UPGRADE] Templated Art] and [UPGRADE] Unique Art.

We have also updated the Civilian Journal Information and the Powered Journal Information to include a bit more information and link to some of our available options for IC and OOC journals flare.

We are aware of multiple threads with dead links and are in the process of updating these, however if you come across one, please PM In the Name of the Mule so we can make sure nothing gets missed! We are also currently in the process of reviewing all of our threads and updating them with current, up to date information. This is a major undertaking and will take time to complete but we hope to have all of our threads updated before the end of the year so we can focus on rolling out a new meta in 2021 with solid foundations and information available to everyone. If there are any threads you are particularly passionate about and/or information you would really like to see reflected in an information thread, please also feel free to PM the mule! We have notes on every thread currently existing in the shop and multiple threads are already assigned to our team so we can continue to roll out regular updates. As each thread is updated, we will make sure there is an announcement so you can keep track of where we are and how much we have left!

Our first major faction thread overhaul will focus on Senshi; when this project is completed, we will announce what the next major faction thread is!

On top of all of that, we are also working on the Halloween event for this year and hope everyone is excited for something a little different than usual!

We want to give a big thank you to everyone in the shop; we have an amazing staff that's always working hard to make this the best experience possible, and we have an array of creative, inspiring players sharing their stories and ideas with the shop. We're excited about the future and hope you are too!

Hey, everyone! We have a few thread updates we want to go over! We are still working on updating all of our threads and the latest batch includes updates to the Revision thread, Stamping Thread (Acquired), Stamping Thread (Non-Slot), a new thread for CYO Knight Signet Rings and a new thread for CYO Order Mauvian Communicators. These threads are updated with all the most current information, and have expanded information and updated resources. We will have updates for more threads in the future; thank you for your patience while we roll out all of these!

We hope you're excited for our Halloween event; we're trying a few new things this year and we hope you'll enjoy it! We'll have the event up tomorrow, so keep your eyes peeled for another announcement about it!

Hey, everyone!

We have some big updates to drop today! We're still working on updating all of the information in the shop and we have rolled out our latest batch of updates! In addition to these updates, we are also opening hiring for two positions; we are looking for volunteers to help make Character Icons and Certs!

Thread Updates

  • The Senshi Faction Thread has a huge update; we have completely updated it, formatted it to be better organized, and clarified some consistency errors; there were some pieces of information that were spread across multiple threads that have been gathered into this single thread. There are updates to many things, including more information about Senshi Accessories and Abilities (Information about Subspace has been added), specific information about rank abilities, and the post about Chibi Senshi has been reformatted to a post that covers Order Senshi Variations (Both Chibi Senshi and Late Blooming Senshi who awaken between ages 21-27). A post about Transcended Senshi was added here; we will be removing the Transcended Information post in the future and adding a post about Transcended Knights in the Knight Faction Information when it is revised. Moon City Information has been removed from this thread and moved into the Present Day Cosmic Almanac (more information below). A big update has been made to Senshi Courts; while this information is currently remaining in the Senshi Information Thread, in the near future it will be moved to a new thread, detailing Courts, Brigades, and Teams. We have a major change to how Courts can be founded; rather than needing four unique players with at least one character each, you can now form a Court (or Brigade) with only two unique players. You will still need at least four senshi involved for a Court, but a single player can play up to three of them. A minimum of two players will still be required for all Court functions. The Knight Brigade Information has not yet been updated to reflect this information, but the Knight Information Thread is the next Faction Update on our list. The other Information Threads will be updated in a similar way, including formatting and including information that was previously missed!

  • The Disposable Characters thread has been archived and replaced with a new thread, the [INFO] NPCs and Disposable Characters thread. This thread has updated information on the types of background characters you can play in your approved characters' lives, as well as how to proceed with requesting a long-term disposable character for plot purposes. You no longer have to request permission for every disposable, but there are rules to abide by when using one!

  • The Knight Faction Thread had a small update; previously in the description of the Canon Worlds, the information only focused on the worlds as they were in the past. A while back, we updated the Deep Space Subforum with information on the current state of Canon Planets, in the event that Knights wanted to try exploring or travelling the planet their Wonder was located. We have updated this post to include information on the planet as it was and as it is to help players when planning for new characters or designing their Wonders.

  • The Deep Space Subforum has a major overhaul, including a revised and updated [INFO] Welcome to Deep Space information thread! This thread has been cleaned up and reorganized, and the major addition lies in the Homeworlds and Wonders post, which gives extensive information on Order Worlds, including information on designing them, bringing objects and guests, and restoring them.

  • The [INFO] Cosmic Almanac (Present Day) thread has also been updated in the Deep Space Subforum! There is information on Canon Senshi Planets for Knights with Wonders located on these worlds, as well as revised information on the Moon Palace, Olympus, and the Surrounding. Players are also free to share information about the present state of their world here if they like!

  • The Front Page is slowly getting updated; we are removing all of the Front Page Icons to make it easier for players looking for basic information and links to peruse the front page without needing to wait for the load time to Icons. The Front Page Icons have now been moved to the Character Icon Database. In this new thread, they have been sorted a little differently than the front page, so if you are used to using the Icons as a directory, we hope this will make things easier! If you need to post for an Icon, you can still use the Character Icons Information and Request thread, which has been updated with a little bit of extra information and a new form to use! If you have Icons that use the old form, that's okay! We just ask that the new form be used moving forward.

Icon and Cert Hiring

In addition to have the new Icon Thread up, we are also looking to hire at least two players, one to take over for making certs for the shop and one to make the character icons! Information can be found below:

Previously, some shop tasks (such as creating Front Page Icons and Certs) were assigned to a member of staff. We would like to move away from this process so our staff can focus on other aspects of the shop. To ensure that these graphics can be provided for the playerbase, we are looking to hire two players to help the shop by creating front page icons and certs!

We are looking for volunteers who have Photoshop, or a program that can open PSD files. Our front page icons and certs may use a specific text font unavailable in other programs so we ask that players be prepared to overcome that obstacle if they intend to utilize a program other than Photoshop!

Ideally, we are looking for one player for each task. Volunteers will be paid in crown tokens and we will ask that these tasks be completed once every two weeks, typically on the first and fifteenth of the month but with some wiggle room depending on schedule and availability.

In depth instructions will be provided upon hiring, but if you are interested for either position, please read about them below!

Character Icons

This task is relatively straight forward; players will fill out a form for their character and provide a link to character art; the volunteer for this task will need to resize the art so that the face fits in the box, type the correct name, rank, and sphere/planet/etc, and be able to code to link the icon to the character journal. The volunteer does not have to worry about hosting the image long term; the shop will upload the completed icon and will then update it with the rest of the faction icons. This task pays 1 Crown Token per 30 Icons, and there should be biweekly drops (when applicable) to ensure requested Icons are being completed in a timely fashion.

Certs

Certs require a little more creativity than the icons; players will post for a cert and will link their artwork as well as important details like character name, artists, and the phrase they want to appear on the cert. The volunteer must then must manipulate the shop provided PSD for the cert, to be themed off of the posted character. This may mean adjusting the colors of the cert, or getting more creative and overlaying patterns or images on the cert background. The shop will work with players. Volunteers will need to build a quote wall and link to the certs they have created in each batch. Depending on volunteer preference, the volunteer can either post this themselves or, if they would prefer, the shop can host the images and post it. This task pays 1 Crown Token per 20 Certs, and there should be biweekly drops (when applicable) to ensure requested Icons are being completed in a timely fashion.

All applications will be considered; depending on the interest in this position, we may impose limits for how long someone may hold the position to give others a chance, but this is entirely dependent on the number of applicants and will be determined at a later date. If you are interested in applying, please do so knowing that this may only be a temporary position!

Form:
[b]Username:[/b] (Your name here)
[b]Desired Position:[/b] (Front Page Icons or Certist)
[b]Art Program:[/b] (Photoshop, Sai, ClipStudio, etc)
[b]Experience:[/b] (Do you have experience creating graphics such as icons or certs? Do you have samples to share? This is not necessary, but will help us when making a decision for certist! Even if you have no experience, having an understanding of color theory is worth noting here, or proficiencies with art programs, or digital art!)
[b]Availability:[/b] (Are you able and committed to provide these graphics on a biweekly basis? Is there any foreseeable reason why you may not be able to meet this deadline?)

Applications will be open for one week; if you are interested in either position, please PM a completed application to In the Name of the Mule so we can review! Thank you!

Hey, everyone! We have a few quick updates for today:

SSBros and tatterpixie have joined our volunteer staff and will be working together on creating the graphics for our Icons!

Shanyume and DaisyMilk have joined our volunteer staff and will be working together to create our shop Certs!

They are currently hard at work and catching up with the backlog and we are very grateful for their assistance! Expect updates and drops in the near future!

We have also updated our Certing Request Thread; not much has changed beyond reformatting and cleaning things up a bit! There is only one change to the certs themselves; future certs will no longer include a gender symbol.

More updates will follow soon!

And, our Winter Holiday Event is right around the corner...

Hey, everyone!

We’ve taken some time to update and clarify our rules for Faction Uniforms. Many of the updates are not changes to the rules, but are instead clarifications of existing rules. Existing characters must follow these clarifications, as they are not rule changes and are simply rewrites of existing rules that include all relevant information. Moving forward, all new characters are expected to follow any new rule changes outlined in this update; existing characters are encouraged to follow any changes to the rules, however will be grandfathered in under the rules they were acquired under. Artwork that has already been completed but has not been dropped will not need changes, but new artwork must follow the rules.

Clarifications to the rules mean that all characters need to have these details factored into their art. It has always been the intention that these rules be followed, and characters that do not follow these rules will not be grandfathered in. These guidelines have always been expected of uniform guidelines but may not have been clear in previous wording. Clarifications to the rules include:

  • Dark Mirror Senshi must have a transparent overlay attached to the upper part of the bodice, anywhere between just below the collar or immediately below the bust, at lowest. While a sash or other accessory may cover the overlay, it needs to be clearly layered to imply the fabric is still attached at an appropriate point. While transparencies may be utilized in other aspects of the design, these will not count as the required overlay attached to the bodice. The overlay must cover the torso in some way. Overlays may appear as vests, and may have sleeves attached, but should always be below the collar. The overlays must fall over the bodice, so transparencies that are simply sleeves, skirts, or scarves would not count towards this. Fabric that is tied up (such as fashioned into a scarf), and sleeves alone would not count for the overlay.

  • Captain and Squire stage characters can have capelets that should end no longer than the waist.

  • Senshi collars that could function as or be mistaken for a cape or capelet should not exceed a length past the waist at any stage, and should be no longer than ~the armpit at first stage and ~mid upper arm at second stage. Collars and other accessories (such as scarves) should not be too long at first stage, but could be allowed to grow as the design progresses. No accessories should ever be able to pass for, or be confused for, such things as capes; if a scarf has enough fabric/similar volume to a cape and falls in a similar way (behind the character), it should be treated as one and the design will need to be adjusted to reflect faction and rank.

  • Corrupt Senshi cracks do not need to show through the fabric; they are technically cracked skin, and at least one of the cracks--forehead or chest--needs to be visible. It’s okay if fabric or hair covers the other, but at least one needs to be clear and designs should emphasize these.

  • Senshi must have stripes on the bottom part of their uniform to denote rank or gain a layer of fabric over their waist/bottom half to have a minimum of two layers at super and three at eternal stage. The rules previously stated ‘must have two layers at second stage’ and ‘three layers at third stage’, however the intention was that a senshi would grow more detailed as they leveled up. Characters that have two layers at first stage do not show the desired change in growth if they do not gain an additional layer when they grow to second change.

Changes or adjustments to the rules are considered new rules, and characters that were created before this point in time may be grandfathered in under old rules, They do not need to abide by these changes, but artists need to be made aware of this before they start the art, and there should be a disclaimer when the art is dropped. Players are encouraged to follow these new rules, even if they are grandfathered in, but it is not a requirement. These rules include:

  • All Senshi have been given leniency in brooch location; brooches no longer need to appear in the center of the chest bow. The brooch must appear somewhere on the Senshi’s torso between the neck and waist. The brooch may appear as high as on the senshi collar, chest bow, bodice, or as low as on the senshi sash or a belt around their waist. The brooch must be located on the torso; it cannot appear on the head, arms, or legs.

  • All Senshi factions must have a stripe on their collar to denote rank.

  • Negaverse Uniforms utilizing military styles should lean towards Formal Military, Military Dress Uniform, or Ceremonial Uniform styles. Agents should not be wearing modern day tactical gear or specialized uniforms (such as military bomb suits). Military Uniforms that rely on armor should not be used for inspiration.

  • Cosmos Knights have had a rule change that instead of requiring at least three colors from the swatch to be featured in a gradient, they only need two colors. Characters must still be ‘pastel rainbow’ but do not require the full spectrum of the rainbow or colors featured on the cosmos swatch. This update will be reflected in the Knight Faction Information Thread when the announcement is posted.

All of these updates can be found in an updated post in the Custom Procedure Thread. For ease of access, MYO artists can also find the Faction Guidelines in the Art Guidelines post in the MYO thread!

If you have any questions, please feel free to direct them to In the Name of the Mule and we'll get back to you as soon as possible!

We hope everyone is having fun with the Winter Holiday Event. The event ends January 13th, so there's still plenty of time to participate!

Hey, everyone!

Our Winter Holiday Event has come to an end; raffle prizes have been posted here! Remember, you have until 11:59 PM (PST) on Sunday, January 17th to claim for Individual Participation Prizes!

We appreciate the hard work from our staff and are grateful for all the player participation! We're already working on some new projects and are eager to share!

In the meantime, we wanted to give an update to some general shop maintenance as we continue to update all of our threads:

  • The Growth Item Thread has had mild formatting change and we merged the FAQ into the writeup.
  • The Crown Tokens thread has some slightly adjusted formatting and the FAQ was cleaned up a bit.
  • The OOC Chatter Info thread was formatted slightly and has a little more information plugged in.
  • The Art Dropoff thread has small updates and now links to the cert thread for dropoffs. It has also been updated to include a note to please save your art! If you do not save your art, you risk losing it!
  • The Plotting Information thread has been reformatted to match our other updated threads. There is slightly expanded information on Questable Shop Plots and how to submit them! At some point in time, we anticipate a unique thread for Questable Shop Plots to make them more visible, but for now information will remain in this thread.
  • The Master Character List has been updated with more posts; some of our posts were dangerously close to reaching the maximum character count, so to avoid losing any information we broke up factions into different sections. We have also edited the first post to provide information about the list, as well as a link to the Master Character List Revision thread, in case you notice any mistakes for your characters.
  • The Master Character List Correction Thread has been updated with a little more information; the title has changed to better reflect the other information threads as well.

In addition to those threads, the Realms of the Past Subforum has also been completely updated! We have some big changes here, including:

  • [INFO] Past Lives Information - this thread has some significant changes; it has been retitled and formatted to match our current updates. The first post has been written to explain what past lives are available to play; the second post has been updated with all of the current rules. The original information thread had one post dedicated to Culture, Political Climate, and Technology of several key locations (Earth, the Moon, and Mau specifically), and another post dedicated to the Knight Academy. Both of these posts were incredibly outdated, and the relevant information from these two posts were moved into the Cosmic Almanac (more information below). Replacing these, we have moved information on Canon Relationships into this information thread. Previously, to determine potential past life Canon Relationships, you needed to roll dice and rely on luck. Because results are completely up to chance and can negatively impact potential plots, we are no longer using this method, and the Canon Relationships and You thread and the Canon Documentation thread have been archived.
  • The Register of Negaverse Wonders and Corrupt Planet has been reformatted. The information has been updated to reflect current standards for choosing a name, as well as instructions for what to do if your character purifies after you have chosen a fictional name.
  • The [INFO] Cosmic Almanac (Past Life) is a new thread made to replace the old Galactic Almanac. This thread needed to be remade so we could reserve the front page and edit in shop hosted locations. We have updated this thread to include updated rules and the Past Life information for Canon Knight Homeworlds, The Knight Academy, Olympus, The Moon Palace, and Mau. We have also added an index that links to all player posts with past life information for their personal characters. Presently, these all link to the archived Galactic Almanac posts, but if you post updated information in this new thread, we will update the posts accordingly!

We'd like to thank everyone again for being a part of our shop; we're hard at work updating things and working on new projects and we hope to have more to share soon!

Thank you so much to everyone who participated in the Concept Contest for Feldspar and the Negaverse ORPs! We hope to do more character rehomes in similar fashion in the future, and are actively working on more thread updates as we inch closer towards our meta! Now that those events have concluded, we have some major updates for the following five threads: Negaverse Medals, Personal Items, Knight Information, Knight Quests, and Teams, Brigades, and Courts.

Negaverse Medals

Negaverse Medals are granted to Negaverse officers to acknowledge those who have proven themselves to be valuable. The old thread for Negaverse Medals was out of date and has been archived, to be replaced with a cleaner thread. Players are asked to create a single post and update it as they gain more medals rather than simply post to claim new medals. A new thread has been set up and the front page has been reserved to ensure we have enough posting space for future updates. In addition to these changes, the medals have been split up differently and there is information on how to obtain the medal, as well as how to request medals for player run Negaverse Events. Characters can now wear up to five medals instead of up to three!

Personal Items

This thread has been given a few more posts to make reading easier and provide clearer information. It has been reformatted, however it is also incredibly out of date. If players notice that their character is missing an item, have moved from Approved to Acquired, or if their item has otherwise changed/has an inaccurate description, please contact The Space Cauldron so we can get this updated! In addition to the thread format change and information update, we have also changed the rules on Personal Items. Characters can now own more than one Personal Item, however there are limitations to ensure no single player becomes too powerful. Personal Items should not be able to affect the tides of battle but might be important for personal plots, such as Homeworld development. We will work with players on these as more plots and item requests are sent in!

Knight Information Thread

This thread has some major updates in addition to just reformatting. Brigade Information has been removed and put in the Teams, Brigades, and Courts Information thread. Neptune Knights have a minor tweak to appearance description; “Mythical Sea and music. Think Atlantis, with a hint of ballroom dancer” has been changed to “Mythical Sea, Underwater Ballroom Dancers” to clear up any misconceptions and to avoid any confusion with the Atlantis Wonder. Some information on creating a Knight’s magic, choosing a weapon, and choosing a Wonder has been removed and put into the Questing Handbook. Locations now only need to be 500 years old to be considered a valid Wonder name; it is assumed that any locations built on Earth after the fall of the Silver Millennium may have been in tribute to the Wonders off planet. All Wonders still had to fall during the Silver Millennium, but their namesake can now be as young a 500 years old. Information about the Code has been put into the Knight Thread. Each individual stage has received clear outlines on physical boosts and abilities to be expected at this stage. Royal Knights have been rewritten to be able to have a second magic pool for a super powered attack (like Royal Senshi Magic) while still having access to their already approved Knight magic. Information on Transcended Knights has been moved to this thread. As a result, the Transcendence Information thread has been archived now that the updated information is in the appropriate threads. Knight Accessories Information has been given a heavy rewrite, including advanced information on Signet Rings and Subspace. Knight Abilities have also been expanded on, and have updated information on Aspects and Summons. There are some major changes to Summons, including the ability to keep the Summons out permanently while powered up, however it will always be in an astral form unless the magic is actively summoned. Characters who have already uncovered their Summons may ICly explain this change as simply being the result of their strengthening bond with their Wonder. The FAQ has been updated, and old MQ&A messages have been plugged into the writeup or added there. Some of the information has been resorted, but everything has been updated. Because this information is so extensive, every Knight player is encouraged to review the information thread!

Knight Quests

This thread has been reorganized and reformatted; many quests have been simplified or adjusted to be natural abilities gained simply through ranking up. Quests have been given clearer information, and the Knight Information thread now links clearly to the quests, as well as references quests and rewards in a more cohesive manner. The old thread has been archived; it was cluttered and confusing, and players most often do not need to log the completion of these quests. The new thread has been set up in the plotting subforum!

Teams, Brigades, and Courts

Previously, Brigade information was in the Knight thread and Court information was in the Senshi thread. This wasn’t always convenient or easy to find, so it has been gathered in one place. Additionally, updated information on teams has been included in this thread. This thread will also contain a registry of any Teams, Brigades, or Courts that players want to submit to be added to the registry!

We appreciate everyone’s patience while we work to get the shop updated, and hope everyone can have fun with these new updates! Any questions can be directed to The Space Cauldron!

Hey, everyone! We have two topics to touch on today: Updates to the Mauvian Information Thread and a Character Cap.

Guardian Cat/Mauvian Information Thread

The Information Thread for Mauvians has been updated! Most of the information is unchanged except for formatting changes and plugging MQ&A questions and some of the FAQ questions into the body of the Information Thread. The two largest changes include a new post about Mauvian Physiology, where all the FAQ questions about the topic have been compiled for ease of play, and a new post about Mauvian Inventions to compile a list of existing inventions as well as some information on how to submit your own.

Character Cap

In addition to the Mauvian Information thread, we also have a major change regarding the acquisition of new characters in the shop. Beginning July 1st, In the Name of the Moon will be implementing a character cap. We will be using a point scale that only factors in ungrown characters. Characters who have reached their final stage, or who do not have another stage to grow into, will not be counted towards the character count. This means a player can have an unlimited amount of third stage characters, civilians, or youma, because they do not have growth requirements to reach to grow.

First stage characters will have a value of two points. Second stage characters will have a value of one point.

As of July 1st, players cannot obtain new characters unless they do not meet or exceed 30 points. This means, a player with fifteen first stage characters will need to grow at least one of them to be eligible to claim another through MYO, raffle, custom, crown tokens, or other shop hosted event.

A character that has been posted for growth and has been added to an artist’s worklist, added to an MYO artist’s worklist, or added to the grab bag will be counted as the rank they have been posted to grow to. For example, if a first stage character has been posted and is in the grab bag, it will only count for one point, as they have reached second stage requirements and are on their way to being grown.

Characters who have double side swapped and lost a rank, or characters who have lost a rank for another ICly plotted reason, will be counted as the highest IC rank they have achieved. If you have a third stage character who double side swaps and returns to second stage, they will accrue 0 points because they have already ICly earned their third stage.

Characters that have been killed can no longer be played and will not accrue any points towards the character cap total. Characters who are out of play and may return or on hiatus still count towards the character count cap tally.

Players will not be able to acquire templated alt art if they have have 30 points. While they are still free to acquire unlimited MYO alt art of their characters, regardless of plot reasons, they will not be eligible to acquired templated alt art for any character if they meet or exceed the character cap total.

As of July 1st, when a player claims a new character by any means, the staff asks that they PM The Space Cauldron with a list of all of their characters and their achieved rank so we can have a staff resource that includes and up to date list of everyone's status.

We understand that this system may be confusing or frustrating so we plan to release it in stages so we can monitor the effect on the shop as it rolls out. The current plan is to reduce the point cap by 5 points every two months. Theoretically, by September 1st the point cap will be reduced to 25 points, 20 points by November 1st, and 15 points by January 1st. This will be a trial phase and corrections to the system may be made as issues arise and are addressed. Questions or concerns can be sent to The Space Cauldron!

We want to give as much advance notice as possible so players can prepare for this change moving forward. We appreciate everyone’s patience while we test this new system!

More updates will come in the near future; we are still working on updating information threads and hoping to release our meta within the next few months!
