MYO Slots

User Image

An MYO (Make your Own) Slot is a pass that allows players to acquire custom art from a source outside of our official In the Name of the Moon artists. This art will be considered valid art that can be put on icons and certed, though the artist doing the art (be it the player, a friend, or an artist they have commissioned) must be made aware of the intent and purpose of the art, and the extent at which it will be used. This art will function in the same way that templated art does; it is a valid, IC representation of your character’s current stage and can be used as their growth art.

MYO Slots are completely optional; Players who are currently growing on templates, and who wish to get new characters on templates, will still be able to!

Art Guidelines

All MYO art should be unique art created specifically for the player; this means that fanart or art found online will not be considered valid, however if the player has purchased an adoptable or YCH that meets uniform guidelines they will be permitted to use that. The art does not have to be purchased after the slot; provided you have valid art that meets guidelines, and artist permission, you may use previously commissioned pieces for your MYO Slots. If you would like to use art you have already purchased and/or an adoptable that you think meets uniform guidelines, please contact the mule with the finished art so we can review it!

Art must meet certain guidelines to be usable:

  • The art must be considered the same or similar quality to current shop art; it can be a different style but should be anime inspired and should be a finished, full colored, shaded piece.
  • All art must be full body and should have a transparent background.
  • Super deformed chibi art and stick figure art will not be considered valid.

Art should also meet all faction guidelines. A checklist for each faction is provided below for easy reference to all art requirements.

Faction Checklists

Quote:
White Moon Senshi:

        [+] Tiara
[+] Sailor Collar with stripe(s) that reflect stage
        [+] Chest Bow
        [+] Brooch
        [+] White/cream/off-white Bodice
[+] Buttbow (or substitute sash around waist)
[+] Super Senshi need two stripes on bottoms or two layers of fabric
[+] Eternal Senshi need three stripes on bottoms or three layers of fabric
[+] Eternal Senshi need a pair of white, fluffy wings at their lower back. A second, smaller set of wings are optional
[+] If Transcended, glowing marks on skin
[+] If a Deep Space Senshi they must follow art appearance rules
        [-] Extensive Armor
        [-] Weapons
        [-] Capes
[-] Masks that cover the eyes
[-] Symbols reserved for other factions (listed below)

  • Do they have a tiara? Tiaras can look like the traditional canon tiara, but can also be substituted with a headpiece (such as a hat, bandana, a headband). All headpieces must be worn atop the head or over the forehead.

  • Do they have a Sailor Collar? This can be a traditional Sailor Collar, some sort of scarf or wrap, or any other design element, however it MUST be easily identifiable on the senshi and exist below their chin and at or above their shoulders. A choker or thin necklace wouldn't count. The collar cannot be easily confused with another uniform piece; the collar cannot double as a chest bow, for example, these need to be two distinct pieces. The collar must have stripes to denote rank (one for basic, two or super, three for eternal). Senshi collars that could function as or be mistaken for a cape or capelet should not exceed a length past the waist at any stage, and should be no longer than ~the armpit at first stage and ~mid upper arm at second stage.

  • Do they have a chest bow? This might be a traditional sailor bow or a similar accessory, such as a tie, but it must be obviously present and a distinctive part of the uniform. It should not be mistaken for any other uniform requirement.

  • Do they have a senshi brooch located somewhere on their torso? The brooch must appear somewhere on the Senshi’s torso between the neck and waist. The brooch may appear as high as on the senshi collar, on the chest bow, on the bodice, or as low as on the senshi sash or a belt around their waist. The brooch must be located on the torso; it cannot appear on the head, arms, or legs.

  • Is the bodice predominantly white/cream/off-white? The bodice is the lowest layer of fabric worn over the chest and should be visible.

  • Does the Senshi have a butt bow? Butt bows can be substituted with sashes or any other easily identifiably accessory around the waist/butt area.

  • Does the Senshi have any armor? Senshi may have very slight armor appear on their artwork, but it should be predominantly decorative and not fully functioning. Armor is typically a faction feature of Knights so should be used sparingly on Senshi.

  • Is the Senshi Holding anything? Senshi should not be holding any weapons; they may have their approved personal item appear on their artwork but weapons are reserved for Knights and Negaverse Agents. Senshi may have small magical elements that reflect their sphere appear on their artwork, such as flower petals or sparkles.

  • Does the Senshi have anything that can be mistaken as a cape? These are a faction design feature of Knights and Negaverse agents; at higher stages, senshi might have capelets, but these should be reviewed by staff to ensure they are consistent. No accessories should ever be able to pass for, or be confused for, such things as capes; if a scarf has enough fabric/similar volume to a cape and falls in a similar way (behind the character), it should be treated as one and the design will need to be adjusted to reflect faction and rank.

  • Is the character wearing a mask? Masks or items that cover the eyes or top half of the face will not be permitted, but masks that cover the lower half of the face are allowed. Full face masks or masks designed to cover the eyes cannot be worn on art. Goggles, visors, glasses, or other eye-wear that is at least semi-transparent can be worn on the art.

  • Is the character wearing age appropriate clothes? Underaged characters should not have overly provocative/'sexy' outfits.

  • Personal Items are outside uniform guidelines. Personal Items need to be approved and ICly acquired before they can appear on art, but these are accessories outside of the normal faction guideline.

  • Is the Senshi a Chibi? If templated, they must be on chibi senshi lines. The uniform cannot be scandalous or provocative in nature.

  • Is the Senshi Super? If so, they must have either two stripes on their senshi bottoms to denote rank, or they must have at least two layers of fabric to denote rank. If the Senshi is using layers to denote rank and already had two layers of fabric at a previous stage, they must gain an additional layer of fabric.

Is the White Moon Senshi Eternal? If so, they must have either three stripes on their senshi bottoms to denote rank, or they must have at least three layers of fabric to denote rank. If the Senshi is using layers to denote rank and already had three layers of fabric at a previous stage, they must gain an additional layer of fabric. They must also have a pair of white, feathered wings. Both Eternal Senshi wings should be visible no matter what angle the character is at; the wings do not have a minimum size as long as they can both be seen at all angles, but they do have a maximum size; if they are standing with their arms straight out, the wings should not expand past the character’s elbow. The wings should be attached to the lower back, just above the butt. Wings should not extend above the armpit or below mid thigh; wings should not expand the entire length from the armpit to mid thigh but they can take up 3/4 of that space on any design. Because senshi wings can be done in so many different styles, there is some variation in how they can appear based on artistic interpretation of feathered wings, but the general size/mass should not exceed what is presented in these samples [1] [2]. Dual sets of wings are optional and may appear similar to these samples: [1] [2]

  • Is the Senshi Transcended? If so, they will need glowing markings across their body. The amount of visible markings is up to the player, but at least one glowing mark should be visible. They may substitute their tiara and instead have the symbol of their celestial body on their forehead.

  • Are they using symbols from another faction? Some symbols are reserved for specific factions. Symbols that are faction locked include the Vanguardian Emblem and Knight Symbols, which are spoilered below for easy access. Characters may use a five pointed star very sparingly in other designs, but it should not be used as a singular motif and should also not appear on a Senshi’s Brooch or Tiara. If a character’s design looks too similar to another faction, players may be asked to replace any symbols, no matter how sparingly they are used.

  • Is the character a Deep Space Senshi? If so, they will need to follow all rules for non-human Senshi. They must be humanoid, bipedal characters. They can have vibrant or non-human colored skin, textured skin, animal or fantasy ears that are close in size to a human’s, or non-human pupils without extra approval. Skin textures or patterns should not be mistaken for Transcended or Ascended markings. Anything that can easily be hidden with a glamour and does not add additional features (such as extra appendages) does not have limitations. They may have animal or fantasy-like features, but extra features or appendages should be no more than 15% of their body in art. This means, extra appendages should only take up about as much space on the art as the character’s arm. They can have extra cosmetic features or appendages. Extra features or appendages might include horns or antlers (that are either dulled or too sensitive to be used as weapons) that are no more than half a foot in length and width, fangs (that could reasonably fit in a human mouth and cannot be used to do extra damage), or tails (prehensile tails would not be permitted; the tails can swish or move but cannot be used to grab anything or lash out to do damage). Deep Space Senshi may have wings, but these must be small and can flutter but cannot be capable of flight. They cannot be mistaken for Eternal Senshi wings; they should be smaller than standard Eternal Senshi wings and should not be located below the shoulder blades. They can be black or white and feathered, or be bat wings, but they must not look like Eternal Senshi wings. They cannot have additional arms, legs, or largely altered appendages/limbs. Fur and scales may cover up 10% of their body and not tie into the 15% of extra appendages they are permitted. These designs must be approved by staff, typically in the stamping stage and again in the sketch stage.

Knights:

[+] Uniform Matches Knight Appearance Themes
[+] Uniform has appropriate Knight Symbols
[+] Uniform has appropriate Knight Color Scheme
        [+] Weapon on Art
[+] The appropriate amount of armor per stage (Pages less than 10%, Squires less than 30%, Knights less than 50%)
[+] If Transcended, glowing marks on skin
        [-] Cape before third stage
[-] Masks that cover the eyes

  • Does the uniform match the appearance themes of their aligned planet? While designs can be inspired by other elements, they should also be predominantly inspired by the appearance themes of the world the Knight's Wonder is located on.

  • Can you clearly identify the symbols of the Knight's assigned Planet or Celestial body? These symbols should be easy to spot; if small symbols are being used, they should be plentiful; if there are larger symbols that are immediately noticeable, there may be fewer. Knights should only have symbols from their affiliated Planet or Celestial Body on their uniform. A gallery of Knight symbols, color themes, and appearance themes can be found here.

  • Are the colors of the uniform predominantly from the color swatch of the Knight's assigned Planet or Celestial Body? In addition to colors from the Knight Swatches, Knights may use white or light gray in moderation. All knights can have up to 30% white or gray on their uniform, except for Cosmos Knights which can have up to 60% white. Additionally, all knights can have up to 20% of their uniform be a different color than their designated swatch. This is usually for small embellishments or detailing. Knights can also have metallic embellishments that do not count towards their 20%. Metallics should not dominate the Knight's coloring, but can be used for things such as jewelry or armor accessories. Knight weapons do not need to match the appearance theme or use the colors of the Knight swatch. A gallery of Knight symbols, color themes, and appearance themes can be found here.

  • Can the Knight uniform be mistaken for any other faction? They should not be too dark in color and should not be mistaken as Senshi. Knights should also clearly represent the planetary themes for the planet they serve and should not be easily mistaken as serving any other planet. A gallery of Knight symbols, color themes, and appearance themes can be found here.

  • Does the uniform have anything that might look like a cape? Capes cannot appear before Knight stage. A capelet that falls down to the waist may be permissible at Squire stage.

  • Is their weapon clearly displayed in the art?

  • Does the armor follow Knight rules? Armor is dependent on style and rank of a Knight, but planetary color and appearance theme need to be immediately noticeable and dominate the style. Knights do not need armor, but Pages should have no more than 10% of their uniform be armored, Squires no more than 30%, Knights no more than 50%, and Royal Knights no more than 70%. These are rough estimates and have variability depending on design and style so players are encouraged to PM if they have questions about armor.

  • Is the Knight Transcended? If so, they will need glowing markings across their body. The amount of visible markings is up to the player, but at least one glowing mark should be visible.

Negaverse Agents:

[+] Military or Business Style Uniform
        [+] Dark Colors
        [+] Weapon
        [-] Abundance of Armor
[-] Overly Sexy or Revealing Outfits
        [-] Cape before third stage
[-] Masks that cover the eyes
[-] Symbols reserved for other factions (listed below)

  • Does the uniform reflect a military or business style of dress? Negaverse uniforms must be professional; there is some creativity that can be taken here, but it is a firm requirement that they be inspired by military uniforms throughout the world or appear to be business professional. Formal Military, Military Dress Uniform, and Ceremonial Uniform are encouraged for Military inspiration, as tactical uniforms may have too much armor. These uniforms should not be overly sexy or revealing; they can be slightly provocative, but an overabundance of skin should not be showing and outfits should not be blatantly sexual.

  • Is the uniform predominantly dark in color? Some lighter accent colors are fine but dark colors should dominate the design.

  • Does the uniform have armor? Armor, such as plate mail, is not acceptable. Armor accessories are fine, but should be strategically placed to allow protection while still keeping in themes of the Negaverse.

  • Does the uniform have anything that might look like a cape? Capes cannot appear before General stage. A capelet that falls down to the shoulder blades may be permissible at Captain stage.

  • Is their weapon clearly displayed in the art?

  • Are they using symbols from another faction? Some symbols are reserved for specific factions. Symbols that are faction locked include the Vanguardian Emblem and Knight Symbols, which are spoilered below for easy access. Characters may use a five pointed star very sparingly in other designs, it should not be used as a singular motif. If a character’s design looks too similar to another faction, players may be asked to replace any symbols, no matter how sparingly they are used. If a Negaverse Agent ICly corrupted from a Knight, they may have broken symbols of their previous Knight alignment.

  • Personal Items are outside uniform guidelines. Personal Items need to be approved and ICly acquired before they can appear on art, but these are accessories outside of the normal faction guideline.

Negaverse Agents (Half Youma) :

[+] Military or Business Style Uniform
        [+] Dark Colored Uniform
[+] Humanoid Monster Hybrid (Must be no more than 50% monstrous)
        [-] Weapon
        [-] Abundance of Armor
[-] Overly Sexy or Revealing Outfits
        [-] Cape before third stage
[-] Masks that cover the eyes
[-] Symbols reserved for other factions (listed below)

  • Half-Youma should always be posted for WIP approval, but the following guidelines will help in designing.

  • Does the character look humanoid? Half-youma should not have more than 50% abnormal or youma-esque features. Half youma characters may have abnormal skin or eye colors that would not be permitted on human characters. Half-youma mutations should be biological and should not be mechanical or cybernetic in nature.

While half-youma uniforms should still be somewhat militaristic or professional, because of their youma side these uniforms may appear tattered or altered in such a way that would accommodate their new form.

A capelet that falls down to the waist may be permissible at Captain stage.

  • Does the half-youma have any items on their art? Half-Youma Officers should not have any weapons or offensive items on their art.

Youma

        [+] Monstrous looking
[+] Can wear clothes but not required
        [-] Feathered/Royal Wings
        [-] Weapons
        [-] Abundance of Armor
[-] Masks that cover the eyes
[-] Symbols reserved for other factions (listed below)

  • Youma should always be posted for WIP approval, but the following guidelines will help in designing:

  • Does the youma look like an organic creature? They can come in many shapes and sizes and do not need to be humanoid. They can look beastly, be odd colored, have multiple limbs, etc. They cannot be mechanical or cybernetic in design.

  • Does the youma look like they could pass for a human? If so, this may be too close to half-youma guidelines and may need to be revised. Youma are fully corrupted and should not be able to pass for human.

  • Is the youma wearing clothes? They may wear clothes, but they should not be mistaken for any other faction.

  • Does the youma have wings? These should not look like Royal Senshi Wings, at all. Designs may permit feathered wings or appendages that could not pass for Royal Senshi Wings.

  • Is the youma holding anything? Personal items may be approved, but youma should not be equipped with weapons.

Mauvian (Cat Form) :

[+] Five Point Star on Forehead (Or approved Court Symbol)
[+] Can be any color with any pattern but must be based off of a real cat breed
[+] Can share accessories also worn by Humanoid Form
[-] Masks that cover the eyes
[-] Symbols reserved for other factions (listed below)

  • Does the Mauvian have a five point star on their forehead? These must be light colored for Order and dark colored for Chaos. The only exception is if an Order Cat is meant to be attached to a Court, in which case they can have the Court Symbol on their forehead instead.

  • Does the Mauvian have reasonable coloring? Mauvians may be fantasy colors, however these shouldn't be hugely saturated. Cats cannot have more than two unnatural colors (so no rainbow cats), but they can have varying shades or values of the same general color.

  • Does the Mauvian have any accessories in this form that they share in their human form? Mauvians may wear a few accessories that are shared between both forms, or no accessories all, at player choice. Any accessories that appear on the Cat form must appear on their Humanoid form as well.

  • Are they using symbols from another faction? Some symbols are reserved for specific factions. Symbols that are faction locked include the Vanguardian Emblem and Knight Symbols, which are spoilered below for easy access. The Five Pointed Star can be used by Mauvians provided they cannot be mistaken for a Cosmos Knight. If a character’s design looks too similar to another faction, players may be asked to replace any symbols, no matter how sparingly they are used.

Mauvian (Humanoid Form) :

[+] Five Point Star on Forehead (Or approved Court Symbol)
[+] Ears and Tail (if Applicable) Showing; must be same color as Cat Form
[+] Whimsical or Fantasy inspired outfit
[-] Shoes; toes and heels must be exposed
[-] Masks that cover the eyes
[-] Symbols reserved for other factions (listed below)

  • Does the Mauvian have a five point star on their forehead? These must be light colored for Order and dark colored for Chaos. The only exception is if an Order Cat is meant to be attached to a Court, in which case they can have the Court Symbol on their forehead instead.

  • Does the Mauvian have reasonable coloring? Mauvians may be fantasy colors. Cats cannot have more than two unnatural colors (so no rainbow cats), but they can have varying shades or values of the same general color.

  • Does the Humanoid Mauvian have visible ears and tail showing? These should reflect the colors of their Cat Form fur. If the breed does not have a tail, they are exempt from this.

  • Is their clothing based on a whimsical or fantasy style? Their clothes are meant to be high fantasy or magical girl inspired, or any other extreme fantasy that cannot be confused for standard modern day clothes. These appearances should be very distinctive and unique.

  • Are their feet bare? All Humanoid Mauvians must have toes and heels exposed.

Mauvian (Senshi Form) :

[+] Five Point Star on Forehead (Or approved Court Symbol)
[+] Ears and Tail (if Applicable) Showing; must be same color as Cat Form
[+] Bodice must be White (Order) or Black (Chaos)
        [+] Transformation Item
[+] Some Traditional Senshi Traits (Tiara, brooch, collar, chest bow, butt bow)
        [-] Butt Wings
[-] Masks that cover the eyes
[-] Symbols reserved for other factions (listed below)

  • Mauvian Senshi should always be posted for WIP approval, but the following guidelines will help in designing:

  • Does the Mauvian have a five point star on their forehead? These must be light colored for Order and dark colored for Chaos. The only exception is if an Order Cat is meant to be attached to a Court, in which case they can have the Court Symbol on their forehead instead.

  • Does the Mauvian Senshi have visible ears and tail showing? These should reflect the colors of their Cat Form fur. If the breed does not have a tail, they are exempt from this.

  • Does the Mauvian Senshi have a bodice that reflects their alignment? Order Mauvians must have white or off-white based bodices and Chaos Mauvians must have black or very dark based bodices. The bodice is identified as the lowest layer of fabric worn over the chest.

  • Does the Mauvian Senshi have their transformation item? This should appear on art and is their personalized version of a henshin pen.

  • Does the Mauvian Senshi have some traditional senshi traits? These include tiara, brooch, collar, chest bows and butt bows. Mauvian Senshi are not real senshi so have much more freedom in their design but still need some of these elements.

  • Can the Mauvian Senshi be mistaken for any other faction? If so, it may need design tweaks. They can look similar to their bonded senshi and take inspiration from them but they should not look like they are the Senshi of any specific sphere. They should not have eternal butt wings.

Corrupted Senshi:

[+] Cracked Black Hole in Forehead and Chest
[+] Sailor Collar with stripe(s) that reflect stage
[+] Black or Extremely Dark Bodice
        [+] Extremely Long Hair
[+] Butt bow (or substitute sash around waist)
[+] Super Senshi need two stripes on bottoms or two layers of fabric
[+] Eternal Senshi need three stripes on bottoms or three layers of fabric
[+] Eternal Senshi need a pair of black, bat wings at their lower back. A second, smaller set of wings are optional
[+] If Ascended, black cracks along skin
        [-] Extensive Armor
        [-] Weapons
[-] Capes (Unless the character is Eternal and Ascended)
[-] Masks that cover the eyes
[-] Symbols reserved for other factions (listed below)

  • Do they have a cracked black hole in their forehead? Corrupted Senshi may have a tiara also if they choose but they must have a cracked black hole in their forehead. Designs are encouraged to show the cracked skin, but if impossible for both to show, at least one cracked hole, either on the forehead or the chest, should be clearly visible.

  • Do they have Sailor Collar?

  • Do they have a cracked black hole in their chest? Corrupted Senshi do not need chest bows or brooches like White Moon Senshi but they may have these elements if they choose. The cracked black hole is a necessity and cannot be substituted. Designs are encouraged to show the cracked skin, but if impossible for both to show, at least one cracked hole, either on the forehead or the chest, should be clearly visible.

  • Do they have incredibly long hair? This is typically knee-length, but in all situations should be significantly longer than the character's civilian form. The hair can be tied up or styled but should always be easily distinguished as being very long.

  • Is the bodice predominantly black/grey/navy/brown/dark-colored? The bodice is the lowest layer of fabric worn over the chest and should be visible.

  • Does the Corrupted Senshi have a butt bow? Butt bows can be substituted with sashes or any other easily identifiably accessory around the waist/butt area.

  • Does the Corrupted Senshi have any armor? Senshi may have very slight armor appear on their artwork, but it should be predominantly decorative and not fully functioning. Armor is typically a faction feature of Knights so should be used sparingly on Senshi.

  • Is the Corrupted Senshi Holding anything? Senshi should not be holding any weapons; they may have their approved personal item appear on their artwork but weapons are reserved for Knights and Negaverse Agents. Senshi may have small magical elements that reflect their sphere appear on their artwork, such as flower petals or sparkles. Corrupted Senshi may also be shown holding a starseed.

  • Does the Corrupted Senshi have anything that can be mistaken as a cape? These are a faction design feature of Knights and Negaverse agents; at higher stages, senshi might have capelets, but these should be reviewed by staff to ensure they are consistent. No accessories should ever be able to pass for, or be confused for, such things as capes; if a scarf has enough fabric/similar volume to a cape and falls in a similar way (behind the character), it should be treated as one and the design will need to be adjusted to reflect faction and rank. However, third stage Ascended Senshi can have capes. These should not conceal any other required uniform piece (such as wings or collar).

  • Is the Corrupted Senshi Super? If so, they must have either two stripes on their senshi bottoms to denote rank, or they must have at least two layers of fabric to denote rank. If the Senshi is using layers to denote rank and already had two layers of fabric at a previous stage, they must gain an additional layer of fabric.

Is the Corrupted Senshi Eternal? If so, they must have either three stripes on their senshi bottoms to denote rank, or they must have at least three layers of fabric to denote rank. If the Senshi is using layers to denote rank and already had three layers of fabric at a previous stage, they must gain an additional layer of fabric. They must also have a pair of black, bat-like butt-wings that are small and decorative. These must be black. Both Eternal Senshi wings should be visible no matter what angle the character is at; the wings do not have a minimum size as long as they can both be seen at all angles, but they do have a maximum size; if they are standing with their arms straight out, the wings should not expand past the character’s wrist. The wings should be attached to the lower back, just above the butt. Wings should not extend above the armpit or below mid thigh; wings should not expand the entire length from the armpit to mid thigh but they can take up 3/4 of that space on any design. Because senshi wings can be done in so many different styles, there is some variation in how they can appear based on artistic interpretation of bat wings, but the general size/mass should not exceed what is presented in these samples [1] [2]. Dual sets of wings are optional and may appear similar to these samples: [1] [2]

  • Is the Corrupted Senshi Ascended? If so, they will need black cracks stretching across their body.

Dark Mirror Senshi:

[+] Black Bodice, modest with no exposed skin from chest to waist
        [+] Moderately covered arms
[+] Metallic arm bands that cover half of arm from elbow to wrist
[+] Transparent overlay (attached to bodice between top of bodice and just below the bust)
[+] Butt bow (or substitute sash around waist)
[+] Super Senshi need two stripes on bottoms or two layers of fabric
[+] Eternal Senshi need three stripes on bottoms or three layers of fabric
[+] Eternal Senshi need a pair of black, fluffy wings at their lower back. A second, smaller set of wings are optional

Tiaras, also a necessity, usually use the same symbol as brooches, however this is not required.

  • Do they have a Sailor Collar? The collar must be detached from the bodice and sleeves. The collar must be a distinct piece and should not be extra fabric on the bodice. The collar can rest over or touch the bodice or sleeves, but their design must be unattached. For example, a scarf can rest on top of the bodice and sleeves, but it is not attached to either. A collar attached to a bodice (like a lapel) would not be valid.

  • Do they have a senshi brooch located somewhere on their torso? They must have a unique style brooch with some sort of a metal backing. The brooch must appear somewhere on the Senshi’s torso between the neck and waist. The brooch may appear as high as on the senshi collar, on the bodice, or as low as on the senshi sash or a belt around their waist. The brooch must be located on the torso; it cannot appear on the head, arms, or legs.

  • Are their arms at least moderately covered? This can be done with sleeves, gloves, or a combination of both.

  • Do they have metallic arm bands of some sort? These bracers must be placed between the elbow and the wrist and should cover at least half of that area of the arm. These are not armor or weaponized, but should be any metal color. They should not be confused with cuffs or bracelets.

  • Is the bodice black? Dark Mirror Bodices must be one solid piece (rather than bikini or two-piece) with no skin showing in the midriff area. They should not have bodices with holes or cuts designed to expose skin. Their uniforms should not show skin from the top of the bust to mid-thigh. If the bodice has slits designed for ease of movement, the cloth must be able to hang closed when standing still. The bodice is the lowest layer of fabric worn over the chest and should be visible.

  • Do they have a transparent overlay attached to the upper part of the bodice, anywhere between just below the collar or immediately below the bust, at lowest? While a sash or other accessory may cover the overlay, it needs to be clearly layered to imply the fabric is still attached at an appropriate point. While transparencies may be utilized in other aspects of the design, these will not count as the required overlay attached to the bodice. The overlay must cover the torso in some way. Overlays may appear as vests, and may have sleeves attached, but should always be below the collar. The overlays must fall over the bodice, so transparencies that are simply sleeves, skirts, or scarves would not count towards this.Fabric that is tied up (such as fashioned into a scarf), and sleeves alone would not count for the overlay. Transparencies traditionally start off shorter and lengthen as the senshi ranks up.

  • Does the Dark Mirror Senshi have a butt bow? Butt bows can be substituted with sashes or any other easily identifiably accessory around the waist/butt area.

  • Does the Dark Mirror Senshi have any armor? Senshi may have very slight armor appear on their artwork, but it should be predominantly decorative and not fully functioning. Armor is typically a faction feature of Knights so should be used sparingly on Senshi.

  • Is the Dark Mirror Senshi holding anything? Senshi should not be holding any weapons; they may have their approved personal item appear on their artwork but weapons are reserved for Knights and Negaverse Agents. Senshi may have small magical elements that reflect their sphere appear on their artwork, such as flower petals or sparkles.

If the Senshi is using layers to denote rank and already had three layers of fabric at a previous stage, they must gain an additional layer of fabric. They must also have a pair of black, feathered wings. Both Eternal Senshi wings should be visible no matter what angle the character is at; the wings do not have a minimum size as long as they can both be seen at all angles, but they do have a maximum size; if they are standing with their arms straight out, the wings should not expand past the character’s elbow. Vanguardians (Velencians):

        [+] Official Vanguard Uniform
[+] Cat-Slit eyes, pointed ears, soft pastel skin
[+] Rank Appropriate Brooch and Belt using the Vanguardian Emblem
        [+] Sci-Fi Weapon
[+] At least 75% of their base uniform must be worn at second stage
[+] At least 50% of their base uniform must be worn at third stage
        [-] Accessories at first stage
[-] Cape, no Caplet before third stage
        [-] Armor
[x] Because this is a new faction, please be prepared to work with staff as we continue to improve faction guidelines! Please ask questions about potential accessories or uniform changes between growths before getting art!

  • Does the uniform design reflect the official Vanguardian uniform? There are only three base styles to choose from; ceremonial with pants, ceremonial with skirt, and a bodysuit. No design offers any IC boosts and should be chosen based on comfort of wear. First stage characters should arrive with only their standard issue uniform, however as they grow in rank they can swap out pieces or add accessories. By second stage, they must still use at least 75% of their base uniform. By third stage, they should use at least 50% of their base uniform. This means, they may choose to edit parts of their uniform, such as cutting off sleeves, or tailoring the cut of their shirt, or altering their pants to be in a different style, but they require at the percentage to remain unchanged.

  • Do the uniform colors reflect the official Vanguardian uniform? The thistle purple base will always be the same, but primary/secondary accent colors are customizable; these accent colors should not change between stages without approval. The uniform base should always be the thistle purple used in this reference image. For Cadets: on the official ceremonial uniforms, primary colors/accents should be used on the undershirt, the bottom layer of the shoulder pads, the belt, the stripe of the pants/skirt, and the soles of the shoes; secondary colors/accents should be used on the piping of the top, the topmost layer of shoulder pads, the patches on the sleeves and boots, and the piping on the boots. On the official ceremonial uniforms, primary colors/accents should be used on the undershirt, the bottom layer of the shoulder pads, the belt, the stripe of the pants/skirt, and the soles of the shoes; secondary colors/accents should be used on the piping of the top, the topmost layer of shoulder pads, the patches on the sleeves and boots, and the piping on the boots. On the official bodysuit, primary colors/accents should be used on the bottommost layer of the shoulder pads, the topmost layer of belt, and as the piping that runs across the body suit (sleeves, torso, legs); secondary colors/accents should be used for the topmost layer of shoulder pads, the bottom most layer of the belt, as the patches on the sleeves and boots, and the accent colors on the boots. As a character grows, parts of their uniform may change colors (up to 25% of their uniform is customizable at second stage, and up to 50% at third stage) so color changes will be included in design changes if a player chooses to alter their uniform between growths.

  • Do they look like Velencians? Velencians have several notable differences from humans that should appear on earth, including cat-slit pupils in their eyes, slightly pointed ears, and soft pastel skin color. Hair and eyes can be any color.

  • Is their hexagonal rank brooch or belt buckle visible? Only one needs to be visible on the art, but they should both ICly be worn. The brooch should always be worn on the upper right part of the chest. The brooch has three colored parts inside; at first stage the top and left part of the brooch should be white while the right part is the same thistle color as their uniform. At second stage, the hexagonal brooch should upgrade so the top part is colored to match their primary color and the left part should remain white. At third stage, the hexagonal brooch should upgrade so the remaining white part on the left side is colored to match their secondary color.

  • Is their sci-fi weapon clearly displayed in the art? These can be any range of weapons but must obviously have a sci-fi inspiration. They will be at their most basic at first stage and as they grow in rank they should be logical progressions. Their weapons should be based on sci-fi type weapons and use a special crystal to power them; their crystal will always be the color as the primary color of their uniform. These weapons are typically not designed to do immense damage and are instead supposed to stun or incapacitate their target. Weapons should be approved prior to getting art of a character to confirm they meet IC guidelines.

  • Are they wearing accessories? Velencians cannot wear accessories on art while they are Cadets; they should only have their official Velencian uniform. They may wear vision or hearing aids, as these are not aesthetic accessories. By second stage, they may wear some accessories, such as jewelry, hair pieces, gloves, a jacket, etc; they still need to use the required percentage of their base uniform. They may swap out boots or other small pieces of their uniform, and they may wear gifts given to them by powered characters, or acquired as a civ. Their base uniform (or at least their rank appropriate percentage of it) should be clearly visible, and either their hexagonal rank brooch or belt buckle must be visible. There is more freedom at third stage than there is at second stage. Accessories are encouraged to reflect the colors of their uniform, however this is not required. Velencians do not need to accessorize as they rank up; they may wear the same base uniform regardless of rank; individual personalization is unique to them and their growth. However, they will still need to have appropriate hexagonal brooch and belt buckle design, and may have a military style capelet when they reach third stage.

  • Does the uniform have armor? Full pieces of armor should not appear on art. Small armor accessories may be acceptable by third stage, but this should never dominate the uniform.

  • Does the uniform have anything that might look like a cape? Velencians cannot wear capes unless they have reached fourth stage. They can have a military style capelet by third stage, but this should not fall down past the hips. This should use their primary or secondary accent colors, or both, but should look professional and classy.

  • Can the uniform be confused for any other faction? Velencians can accessorize their uniforms, either from things they find in their daily life or from gifts from other powered characters. Their uniforms should not be easily mistaken for any other faction.

  • Are they using symbols from another faction? Some symbols are reserved for specific factions. Symbols that are faction locked include Knight Symbols, which are spoilered below for easy access. Characters may use a five pointed star very sparingly in other designs, but it should not be used as a singular motif. If a character’s design looks too similar to another faction, players may be asked to replace any symbols, no matter how sparingly they are used.

  • Personal Items are outside uniform guidelines. Personal Items need to be approved and ICly acquired before they can appear on art, but these are accessories outside of the normal faction guideline.

Questions about uniform guidelines can be sent to the shop mule, In the Name of the Mule.

Approval Process

Before a player can commission an artist, they should PM the shop mule, In the Name of the Mule, with a link to the artist and samples. When looking to have a new artist approved for MYOs, it is important to link to their main account (anywhere where they can be appropriately credited or contacted) as well as samples of finished pieces in the style you hope to commission. Some artists may offer multiple styles, and not all of them may be viable options for MYO Art for use within the shop. Even artists who are on this list may have certain styles that are viable for MYO and others that aren’t, so if you are commissioning an approved artist who is offering multiple styles, please make sure to confirm which style you would like when first contacting the mule about obtaining an MYO Slot!

When submitting an artist for MYO consideration, please submit the following form to In the Name of the Mule:

[b]MYO Artist Approval Form[/b]
[b]Artist Name[/b]: (Please include a name and a link to at least one website where they can be credited; this can be a social media page, a commission resource link, or some other link that would allow the artist to be properly credited)
[b]Artist Samples[/b]: (Please include a link to a sample of finished art in the style you will be commissioning)

To ensure that the art can be approved as soon as possible, the player should also contact a member of staff on Discord to ensure that the PM is opened and shared with the art staff for approval as quickly as possible. The following staff members have offered to be available on Discord for this purpose:

  • Kyuseisha no Hikari (Xigglet#7845 ; I am often invisible so please feel free to contact me even if it says I am offline! I get phone notifications and am usually able to respond fairly quickly!)
  • whimsicalblue#4331
  • Guine (Guine #2800; I too am often invisible so please feel free to contact me even if it says I'm offline. I will respond asap.)

If there are concerns with an artist or the artist’s style, the player will be requested to find another artist. If an artist has previously been approved, they may be utilized without the initial approval process unless the artist offers multiple styles, in which case the player will need to reach out to the mule to make sure their commission is being done in an approved style. Artists who have provided MYO art for the shop already include:

Quote:

When submitting a piece of art for approval, please submit the following form to In the Name of the Mule for each stage of the process:

[b]MYO Art Approval Form[/b]
[b]Character[/b]: (Please include the character's name and a link to the journal or quest for the character you are getting art of)
[b]Current Art:[/b]: (Please include a hyperlink to their current art; do not use an [img][/img] code; use a [url=]x[/url] code)
[b]Growing to:[/b] (What rank is your character growing to and are they undergoing any changes? Changes include things like side swaps/partial youmafication/ascending/transcending/etc)
[b]Has the character reached requirements and/or gotten plots approved?[/b] (You can get art approved before they have reached IC requirements so it is ready to be dropped when they do, but you must be nearing completion of growth requirements. If you are getting art that reflects any changes that require plot approval, such as side swaps/youmafication/ascending/transcending/etc, have you sent them in and gotten approval? We may not be able to approve art if you have not sent in a plot and begun the approval process but we will work with players.)
[b]Have you reviewed MYO procedure?[/b] (Please make sure that you send us a sketch and flats before the final stage of art; if staff misses something in the approval stage we will not punish players for our mistake, but players need to send us art that shows us a sketch of the outfit before it is lined, and it should either have colors in the sketch [i]or[/i] flats after the sketch is approved. If something changes between an approved WIP and the final art that does not meet guidelines, the art may not being usable as official art, so please be thorough when getting changes to design approved during this process.)
[b]MYO Art for Approval:[/b] (Please include a hyperlink to the image; do not use an [img][/img] code; use a [url=]x[/url] code)
[b]Artist:[/b] (Please include the artist's name and a link to the artist's social media page, commission information, or other website that they use)

If getting a new character, it is strongly encouraged that your character’s quest be approved and that you have checked that the name and sphere are still valid before commissioning an artist or beginning the art. If there is an issue with the name or sphere, the player will be required to choose something more acceptable.

After the art is commissioned, the player must be in open communication with the shop for approval to ensure the art is within faction uniform guidelines.

Players will need to send a sketch to the shop so we can approve the general design. While this sketch may be black and white, the shop will also need to see a color WIP as well. If the uniform is not within guidelines, it will need to be changed before it can be used.

All art will need to be at least somewhat forward facing and the art should be in a pose that allows staff to see all required uniform features. If players intend for their characters to be put on shop certs, they will need to keep in mind that the certs were designed to fit art with similar sizing ratios as our templates. Character art that is not done with similar proportions may not be able to be resized to fit on the certs. Characters done in dynamic poses, seated poses, or who are drawn in a way that makes the art too wide or too tall may not be able to fit on the certs. While players are permitted to get art of characters in these poses provided it meets all other guidelines, they forfeit shop-provided certs if our certists cannot reasonably make the art fit on the template.

All art WIPs should be sent to the shop mule, In the Name of the Mule, and a player should contact a member from staff from the list above to inform them that the PM has been sent so it can be shared with art staff immediately for approval. The art will be posted as soon as possible and staff will attempt to reply with approval or necessary changes within 24 hours so the artist can make necessary changes and complete the art.

If the staff fails to correct a uniform discrepancy during the approval stage and it appears on the finished art, that is fault of the staff and the player will still be able to utilize the art (provided the mistake is corrected in the next stage) ; if the staff informs that the art needs to be changed to meet guidelines and the changes are not made, the art cannot be used until it is corrected.

Once the art is completed, the finished art should be sent to the shop mule and it will be officially dropped by the mule. Once it is dropped, you can set up the journal and begin to play!

How to Acquire an MYO Slot

MYO slots can presently be acquired in a few ways, including:

Because MYO Slots require less work from shop staff, they cost less.

When a new character is acquired through an MYO slot, it is with the expectation that they will grow all stages through MYO Slots. Purchasing an MYO slot for a new character allows you to grow all three stages once they reach the required growth guidelines. If you need to move from an MYO slot/unique growth back to templates, you will need to contact staff. Depending on how you obtained your art and how many stages you will need done on templated art, you may be required to pay the difference for the templated upgrade.

The cost of MYO slots are generally cheaper because they require the player to utilize outside art sources; returning to templates moves the art back to the shop and may require compensation to cover that shift. If you purchase a new character through MYO slots and can no longer acquire unique art for their growths, please contact the shop mule In the Name of the Mule so we can help you move back to templates.

MYO slots can also be used to obtain alt civilian and alt powered art. Characters that are currently on templated art may move off of templates to get unique art of their characters through MYO slots for no cost. However moving off of a template and obtaining art through an MYO slot will forfeit the remaining owed art from the shop for that stage. For example, if you have a templated character and use an MYO Slot to get second stage art that is brought into play, the shop will no longer owe you second stage art for that character and you will not receive a voucher for an additional piece of art for the shop. When the character is ready to grow to third stage, you may utilize another MYO slot for their third stage art or use the template art otherwise guaranteed by the shop. If you use MYO for their third stage, you forfeit the templated art the shop would have provided you. If you are currently growing templated art onto unique art through an MYO slot, make sure you are posting in the [UPGRADE] Unique Art thread. You will also need to post in that thread when you are growing any stage of an MYO Slot. All information about the process can be found here!

Cooldowns

Because art for MYO slots utilize resources outside of the shop’s domain, MYO Slots have a different cooldown:

  • MYO Slot Alternate art (civilian or powered) has no cooldown
  • Template to MYO growth slots have no cooldown outside of normal character growth cooldowns. If you choose to move your existing characters off of templates for one or multiple stages, these growths are treated no differently than any templated growth. If you upgrade three characters in a week, you could move all of their growths to an MYO slot or grow them on templates.
  • New MYO characters are on the same cooldown for new templated characters; if you get a new character in an MYO slot you will not be able to get a new templated character for 3 months.
  • Event MYO Slots, like other event wins, will have no cooldown.

Rules for claiming an MYO Slot

If you win an MYO Slot in an event, they will follow the same general rules as outlined here, with the exception that Event prizes often do not go on cooldowns. Additional information about the prize won will be provided in the event.

If you are nominated for a Quest Fairy, you will have the option to get the art on a template or as an MYO slot. If your character is quest fairied, you may grow them through MYO slots or on templated slots. Because this is a gift from the shop, there are no costs to swap between the two and it is player choice whether they would like to obtain the art on templates or from an artist they commission. They will still need artist and WIPs approved if utilizing an MYO Slot.

When purchasing an MYO slot with Crown Tokens you will need to fill out the following form when you cash in your Crown Tokens:

If claiming an Alternate Art Slot (Civilian or Powered) :

[b][color=red]I would like to claim an MYO Slot![/color][/b]
[B]Claiming For[/b]: (Link to character’s journal and indicate if the slot is for civilian or powered alt art)

[quote]I understand that I am responsible for obtaining this art utilizing resources beyond In the Name of the Moon. I understand that I am required to use a previously approved artist [i]or[/i] get a new artist approved by staff. I understand that I must send WIPs that show sketch and colored versions of the art before submitting the final art to the shop mule, [b]In the Name of the Mule[/b]. If changes are requested to fit faction guidelines, I am responsible for communicating this with my artist to ensure the art can be used within the shop. If a powered design has more than a 10% change, this must be approved by the staff with an IC explanation.[/quote]

If claiming a New Character:

If changes are requested to fit faction guidelines, I am responsible for communicating this with my artist to ensure the art can be used within the shop. I understand that I should get name/sphere/weapon/etc approved prior to commissioning this artwork to ensure that my new character can be accepted into the shop; I understand that I should post a profile for stamping as soon as the MYO Slot is acquired and/or if I have a previously stamped quest I should check that everything is still available. I understand that a new MYO character slot covers the cost of three powered stages to be done through MYO slots and if, for whatever reason, I am unable to continue growths through MYO I will be able to return to templates to continue growing. I understand that the cost of moving to templates is an additional 2 crown tokens per stage. I understand that if I need to move to templates, I will need to contact [b]In the Name of the Mule[/b] to do so before posting for growth.[/quote]

FAQ

  • If I purchase a new character with an MYO Slot, can I get all stages of growth art approved at once?
No; purchasing a new character through an MYO slot covers the price of getting the character into play and growing within the shop, however staff will only be able to approve art for a character when they have earned a stage.

  • If I purchase a new character through MYOs and am not able to acquire an artist to do the first stage, or if I am unable to acquire an outside artist for any growth stages, what happens to my character?
If you cannot find an MYO artist after you have claimed for a new MYO character, you will have two options: if a new character, you may either get a refund of your crown tokens or you may pay the difference between getting an MYO character and a templated character. If you are unable to acquire an MYO artist to do any growths after purchasing and playing an MYO character, you may move back to templates for their growths, however for each templated growth you need done by the shop, it will cost 2 Crown Tokens. If you need to move to templates for second stage, you can return to MYO for third stage; you only pay the difference per stage you need done templated.

  • When a character is acquired in the shop, most factions are guaranteed three stages of templated art. If I move to an MYO slot for the third stage of one of my characters, can I get templated art of something else?
No; if you voluntarily move to an MYO slot for a growth, you are agreeing to the terms listed in the form that state you are forfeiting a slot of templated art in exchange for the unique art you will acquire.

  • If I have a character currently on templates and I want to get MYO for their growth instead, what do I do?
You only need to post that you will be growing your character in the Unique Art Upgrade Thread and indicate in your claim that you are swapping to MYO from templates. Please remember that if you do this, you forfeit your templated art of that stage. You do not have to pay to switch from templates to MYO for any stage. If you get templated art of a first stage character and move to MYO for their second stage, you are not locked into growing them as an MYO; you can still get their third stage art on a template.
