An MYO Slot will serve as a pass that allows players to acquire custom art from a source outside of our official In the Name of the Moon artists. This art will be considered valid art that can be put on icons and certed, though the artist doing the art (be it the player, a friend, or an artist they have commissioned) must be made aware of the intent and purpose of the art, and the extent at which it will be used.
All MYO art should be unique art created specifically for the player; this means that fanart or art found online will not be considered valid, however if the player has purchased an adoptable that meets uniform guidelines they will be permitted to use that.
Art must meet certain guidelines to be usable: the art must be considered the same or similar quality to current shop art; it can be a different style but should be anime inspired and should be a finished, full colored, shaded piece. Super deformed chibi art and stick figure art will not be considered valid. All art must be full body and should have a transparent background. Art must be within faction uniform guidelines; players will need to send a sketch to the shop for approval. If the uniform is not within guidelines, it will need to be changed before it can be used. A WIP at sketch stage should be sent to the shop mule, In the Name of the Mule, and a player may contact a GM over discord to let them know that the PM has been sent so it can be shared with art staff immediately for approval. The art will be posted as soon as possible and approval or necessary changes will be sent within 24 hours so the artist can make necessary changes and complete the art. If the staff fails to correct a uniform discrepancy during the approval stage and it appears on the finished art, that is fault of the staff and the player will still be able to utilize the art (provided the mistake is corrected in the next stage) ; if the staff requires the art to be changed during the sketch stage and clearly outlines this in the response and it is not changed, the art cannot be used until it is corrected.
After the trial run, MYO Slots are anticipated to be available to the shop through a number of ways, including Crown Tokens/Credits, Raffles or Auctions, Quest Fairies, Event Prizes, or RL Slots, however distribution is pending the trial run of these Slots. For transparency, as they have been considered, RL Slots are not designed for profit of any member of staff and will be clearly utilized solely for the benefit of the shop and will be put towards necessities such as hosting or graphics.
The introduction of MYO Slots makes getting unique, custom art for characters optional! Players who are currently growing on templates, and who wish to get new characters on templates, will be able to! Nothing is changing regarding our templated art, except that civilians will no longer require art. After the trial period concludes and the shop has gathered the necessary information to plan a full release, players are anticipated to have the option to use MYO Slots to grow their characters off of templates, get new characters, or get alt art for existing stages. Because MYO Slots require less work from shop staff, they are anticipated to be released for lower prices should a player choose to pursue them.
Rules for claiming an MYO Slot
- All players, new or old, may claim a free MYO Slot for the duration of this event in exchange for filling out a survey based on their experience. Players have one month to claim an MYO Slot by posting in this thread. This thread will be locked the evening of Saturday, May 23rd, and will be closed to new participants. Ideally the art will be within a one month time period to assist us in gathering information so we can better plan a shop-wide release, however if the artist cannot provide art within that time period, there are no repercussions for the player, however they will need to dictate this on the survey. All surveys must be turned in by 11:59 EST Sunday May 31st.
An MYO Slot claimed during this free trial can only be used by the player claiming the slot and cannot be given to another player. They can use this slot for a new powered character or a powered growth (provided all growth requirements have been met and the character has been posted for growth). If the player chooses to use it for a powered growth, they will still be able to return to templates should the character require further growth, however choosing to utilize an MYO Slot for a character growth is a voluntary choice the player makes and will exclude the shop from being required to do that stage of templated art. When a player acquires a character in the shop, it is with the understanding that they will receive three pieces of art (if applicable for faction/growth options), so utilizing an MYO Slot instead is considered substituting one of these owed slots. New characters obtained through this MYO may grow on templates once they reach growth requirements. New characters being claimed will be considered acquired but must be posted for a stamp during the two week claiming period. Players with stamped quests prior to this date are encouraged to double check that their sphere or name/theme is still valid, and if there are any questions if a sphere, weapon, location, or name is valid they are encouraged to contact In the Name of the Mule immediately so we can give them answers as quickly as possible and work with them to make sure their art and character meets guidelines.
Art must be considered the same or similar quality to current shop art; it can be a different style but should be anime inspired and should be a finished, full colored, shaded piece. Super deformed chibi art and stick figure art will not be considered valid. All art must be full body and should have a transparent background.
Players should contact the shop mule In the Name of the Mule with a sample of art from the artist they intend to utilize before the artist is contacted to do art for this MYO Slot; because using outside art is new to the shop, we want to ensure that players are utilizing artists that meet our criteria. After the art is approved by the art staff, the player can move forward with acquiring the art. If the art does not meet the shop standards, the player will be asked to find another artist.
Players will have one month (until the evening of Saturday, May 23rd) to fill out the below form and claim their free MYO slot; they should contact the shop mule within that time period with their intended artist.
The player must inform their artist that the art is intended to be used within our shop capacity, and will appear on certs and as the icon for the character if these things are requested. The player must submit a WIP in the sketch stage of the art and send it to In the Name of the Mule for approval. They are encouraged to contact a GM as soon as possible to ensure their PM is seen as quickly as possible; the art staff will have 24 hours to approve the art or request changes. If changes are necessary to meet uniform guidelines, the player must see that they are corrected before the art is completed. If the art is not corrected after it is requested, the art cannot be utilized until it fits guidelines. If the staff fails to request a change that results in the art being completed within guidelines, the player can use the art as the mistake was on the staff’s end; however, the player will be asked to make sure the art is within guidelines when they grow again.
The art must be unique art created specifically for the player; this means that fanart or art found online will not be considered valid. For the purpose of this trial, the art must be new and acquired after the player posts in this thread to claim the slot.
If the player is uncertain if their design is within faction guidelines, they are encouraged to contact the shop mule; their design can be shared with the art staff for approval.
Players must fill out the below survey by 11:59 EST Sunday May 31st; even if your art is not completed, it is imperative that we have the survey so we can move forward with MYO Slots within the shop!
If you are interested in claiming an MYO Slot, please fill out the following form and post it in this thread! When you have finished posting here, please contact In the Name of the Mule with samples of the artist you wish to acquire art from; you may also submit a design if you want us to approve it for faction guidelines!
