Stamping Thread: Acquired Characters

If you have a purchased or won character whose quest is not yet stamped, please post here! For non-acquired characters, please post in the Non-Slot Stamping Thread

Rules of Posting:

  1. You may submit as many quests as you would like in to this thread, provided all characters are acquired. This means if you have multiple unstamped, acquired characters, you will be able to post them all at the same time.

  2. Once a staff member has claimed your thread to review, they will strike it out. They should note their name underneath to let you know who has picked your quest up. Typically a crit should be left within 24 hours of a moderator signing up for a profile.

  3. If the Mod who claimed your post has not replied to your quest in over a week after claiming your quest, or after you have responded to feedback, please either quote them again or message the shop mule, The Space Cauldron.

  4. If you are having issues working with your Mod, you can contact the mule and a GM can step in to take over the profile.

  5. Please do not repost your form in this thread once it has been selected. If you have been asked to work on something specific then you can quote the Mod once you have completed your changes and they will return to review it for you.

  6. The Mods will always select each profile in the order it comes in; they will work down the list in chronological order to ensure nothing is missed.

  7. Your character must be stamped before they can be played. Civilian characters can be played without art, but all powered characters must have art and a stamp before they can be played.

  8. When posting, you must decide if you want a critique to improve the profile beyond basic stamping, or if you want a stamp to allow the character to be played as soon as possible. More information on the differences between asking for crit and stamp can be found below!

  9. Only post in this thread if your quest thread is completed. A completed quest will contain:

    • The appropriate character form, as outlined here. All characters must have at least the civilian portion filled out. If the character is also supposed to be powered, the necessary faction form must also be filled out.
    • You may post just a civilian profile; if the character is to power up at a later date, you may simply fill out a powered quest for them when you are ready.
    • A full powered profile includes attacks/weapon for all three stages.
    • If you are unsure about appearance, you may substitute links of pictures to serve as imagery/inspiration for your character, or include that the outfit is CC

  10. If you have only acquired the civilian slot, only post the civilian profile for a stamp. Do not include your powered quest if it is not acquired. You can post the quest for a powered upgrade in a new thread afterwards, but staff may only be able to stamp that after it is acquired.

Requesting Crit and Requesting a Stamp

A player can choose to request crit or to request a stamp, which will prompt different responses from staff when reviewing the profile. The goal is to get a character stamped, however asking for critique specifically typically means the moderator will go over the profile more intently and give more suggestions and feedback. You can ask for either a crit or a stamp, or ask for both, but please be aware of the difference in what you are asking for!

    Critique

This option is available to players who want to go beyond the basic requirements for getting a character stamped. Normally this option is used by those who intend to enter their profiles into character concept contests where more detail may be expected by the staff members reviewing each submission.

If you want to improve your chances in these particular environments, then you can ask for critique, which will indicate to the mod taking on your profile that you want extra help on your profile. The moderator will work with you in an effort to enhance the profile to be the best that it can be. In general, critique is only there if you would like to go beyond the basic requirements. Asking for critique means that the moderator working with you will give feedback on aspects of the profile that are already stampable in an effort to further enrich the profile. This may also include the moderator giving feedback on spelling or grammar errors in addition to asking questions or making suggestions about the profile.

If you have acquired a character, you do not need to ask for critique if you don't want it; provided that your character meets the basic guidelines, you will receive your stamp! If your character needs tweaks or clarification you will recieve feedback on only the aspects that need to be changed before it can be stamped.

    Stamp

Requesting a stamp indicates to the moderator claiming your profile you are only concerned with meeting the basic requirements which will allow the character to be played in the shop. Once you have completed your character profile, you can submit it with a request for a stamp. When a Mod received this request they will ensure your character meets the rules for the shop and their faction.

A Mod will only give feedback on aspects of the profile which must be clarified or changed to meet the rules of the shop. Many profiles require minor critique or questioning before they can be stamped, but requesting a stamp means that you want to be able to play your character as quickly as possible and with as few revisions as necessary.

Once your character meets all guidelines you will receive your stamp. You must have a stamp in order to be able to play your character! While stamped, acquired civilians can be played without art, a powered character must also have art.

Forms and Tips

When stamping, we are looking for a profile that reflects a character who will be balanced and practical in roleplay. This means that your character should have an equal amount of personal strengths and personal weaknesses, and their strengths and weaknesses don't conflict with one another. In other words, please avoid having wild contradictions in the form that gives your character more than one distinct personality across the sections: if their Virtues are all about how they're confident and friendly and socially outgoing, the Flaws shouldn't be about how they're shy and antisocial and hateful of other people!

If you have traits that do contradict each other on the surface, don't panic! You just need to explain why the character has them both in their descriptions. An extra sentence or two can do a lot and can give a little more detail as to why your character may feel the way they do.

There's a lot of information in the Questing Handbook and we strongly recommend that players give it a glance over if this is their first time questing a character of a specific faction.

To give an idea of what a stamper is looking for, we tend to ask these questions when reading over a form:

  • Are the proper forms being used? Have the forms been fully filled out?
  • Is it easy to read? Is the information in the right spot?
  • Is the character consistent? Is there an underlying basic idea that's supported by all their traits and hobbies, or is the character muddied down by conflicting traits?
  • Is the surname already in use and, if so, does the player have permission to use it? Is the powered name already in use? The Master Character List can be used to look for potential overlaps.
  • If the concept is for a senshi, does the power sphere seem sensible? Does it meet all requirements for Senshi sphere? Do the attacks properly reflect the sphere? Do the attacks make a battle with the senshi seem interesting, or are they overpowered? Is the magic too close to a senshi with a similar sphere and powerset?
  • If the concept is for a Negaverser, does the weapon start out too powerful / is the weapon progression appropriate?
  • If the concept is for a Knight, is the weapon progression appropriate and do the powers fit the themes for the Knight’s planet? Is the wonder old enough? Is the magic written to draw from a limited pool of energy?

Form

When you are ready to post your character for review, please use the following form:

Character: (Please include the faction!)
Looking for: CRIT or STAMP
Quest Link: Post the url here.

When you have submitted your form and the Mods are happy that it meets all the necessary requirements, you'll receive two stamps--a trial stamp from the moderator, and the final stamp from a GM.

Trial Stamp

A gray stamp indicates that an RP moderator has reviewed your profile and is happy that it meets the requirements of the shop. You still need a GM to give the profile a review before you can play, but having a gray stamp means you're almost there!

Final Stamp

When you will receive a stamp in full color, in means your quest is fully approved! Once you acquire the slot, you may play a stamped civilian without art. You will still need powered art to play their powered side! You must set up a journal to play your character. Civilian journals without an approved powered side must be set up here, and powered journals must be set up here. If you need a civilian journal moved to the powered section because they have upgraded, please PM The Space Cauldron or ask a member of staff to help!
