Customs Information and Procedure

Welcome to the Customs Procedure thread! Here you will find all the rules and procedures for customs, as well as how they will be handled in the shop. If you have any questions please feel free to either PM the shop mule, In the Name of the Mule.

Every custom done through this system will be for one of our templated characters. Samples reflect art done by our art staff but may have been done by artists who are no longer part of our team. Click on the thumbnail to see the full image of the template. If a thumbnail has an asterisk (*) it means that there are template variations; please click on the thumbnail to view them!

If your character is displayed on a template and you would like them replaced with another sample, please contact the shop mule, In the Name of the Mule, and we will remove your character!

Pricing and Information

Unless otherwise stated upon acquiring the character, all powered characters are guaranteed three stages of art so long as the growth requirements are met. Youma are presently the only faction that do not have three stages of art! Once a character Youmafies, they can only get one stage of youma art.

Prices:
  • Depending on how each colorist operates they will open initial custom slots where you can purchase your powered character for a base price of 1,000,000,000 gold per stage That is--one billion gold.. A three-stage powered character costs 3,000,000,000 gold--three billion gold. [If your character was acquired prior to the price change on April 12, 2015, it will only cost 1 million gold to grow your character to the next stage!]

  • Any custom civilian that is not on a school uniform template is 500,000,000 gold (500 million) each. Civilians on school uniform templates will be 250,000,000 gold (250 million) each and will not be subject to upcharge.

  • Cats are not available for custom at this time, but can be won in special events or purchased with Crown Tokens.

  • If an artist feels that your custom design is too complex, they may add on upcharing to a limit of 250,000,000 (250 million) gold per stage. However this is for incredibly complex work only and they will let you know before beginning work. You cannot be charged after the fact for complexity. [If your character was acquired prior to the price change on April 12, 2015, these additional fees cannot exceed 250k!]

  • If you acquired a slot and order only the first stage, you will not be able to acquire their growth art until they have completed RP Requirements. You have the option of paying and acquiring all three stages of art up front, but even with the art you will still need to hit the requirements before you can play the characters. You must decide whether you want the first stage or all three stages upfront; you cannot order the first stage, and then a few weeks later decide you want the next two stages as well. This must be decided before the artist begins your art.

  • There is a three month cooldown between when you can acquire a new powered character, and a one month cooldown between any civilian art (new or alternate, they share this one month cooldown!). These are two different cooldowns, so you can get a new civilian character at the same time you get a new powered art!

  • Because customs are an agreement directly between the artist and the player with no cut taken for the shop, it is up to the two parties involved to work out the payment independent of the GMs.

Growth Policy --

  • When a character is ready for growth, you may now choose which artist to go to! You are more than welcome to stay with the same artist from every stage or opt into a “grab bag” roulette system when you post for growth. This means that any available, interested artist can sign up to do your art. If you ordered all three stages up front, then your character will be done by the artist you won a slot from.

  • Depending on how you grow, you will need to use a different thread to post your growth. If growing on templates, check the Growth Thread to see if the artist you want is available. If they are, you can PM them to see if they are interested in taking on the work. If they are, you then post in the Growth Thread with this information. If your character is going to be growing through MYO slots they will need to be posted here instead!

  • If you have not finished your requirements you may not play a character at the next stage, or post for growth art. Even if you purchase and acquire all three stages of art up front, you cannot play the character at their next stage until the requirements are met. You still need to post in the Growth Thread, linking all of the finished requirements, before you can play them at the next stage.

  • If you would like to opt-in to the “grab bag” style simply quote In the Name of the Mule when you post for growth and indicate in your post that you would like to have this happen. If you do not quote the mule we will not be aware and it may take longer to get to you than it should. Please include as much information on the character as you can; the artists may be more inclined to take on your work if they like the design or know what you are asking for!

  • Even after a profile has been won and stamped, players must have completed art of their characters to RP. If you have civilian art, you can only RP your civilian. If you have powered art, you can roleplay both the powered and civilian side of your won and stamped character. WIPs of art, unfortunately do not count, as art must be fully completed.

Template Edits and Splicing Policy

    Please Note!

  • Template splicing is an option, not a guarantee. Please consult your artist of choice as to whether they are comfortable doing any splice at all and then the splice you have in mind.

Rules for Template Splicing on Powered Characters:

  • Eyes may be used from any template on any other template.

  • Arms/Legs/Heads may be used from any template on any other template.

  • You may not put non-feline characters on the lines made for a Guardian Cat/Mauvian. You may also not use any pieces of the Mauvian template for splicing for a character that is not a Mauvian. This is to keep the rarity of those lines rare.

Rules for Editing Templates for Powered/Civilian Characters:

  • You may ask your artist to edit the anatomy of the templates if need be! Some artists may be more willing than others to do this, so please consult with them to discuss this!

  • You may ask to have edits made to a male or female template to reflect any gender! The templates are presently sorted based on similar body type but can be edited to accommodate any gender or body type. All pieces and templates are interchangeable and can be edited to best represent your character!

  • Not every character fits on the templates we have available, but we are always working to provide new templates to fit our players' needs. Our artists have volunteered to try and adjust templates to better reflect your character, but have also expressed interest in creating new templates. If you have a character who does not fit on the conventional templates, please feel free to quest for them! If you win a slot in customs, we will try our hardest to give you a template that works for your character! (As a note, not all of our artists may be able to do extreme edits or new templates; this may mean that for the template/splicing procedure you may have to work with other or multiple artists!)

Unique Stage Art

  • Unique art is a special, non-templated art of your character. It is something that can be obtained through artist customs, raffles, bribes, auctions, crown tokens, and occasionally RLC. RLC slots will not be opened on Gaia and will vary between artists, so please make sure that you are in the Moonshop Discord Server if this is something you are interested in. Please note that due to limited artist availability and the fact that non-templated art takes much more time and effort, unique powered art is rare! Should you win a slot, you will have a six month cooldown before you can receive another piece of Unique Art.

  • If obtained in artist slots, unique art will cost One Trillion Gold for all human characters, either civ or powered. Non human characters (Mauvian, Half-Youma, Youma) will cost Three Trillion Gold. Depending on the design of the character, all unique art may have an upcharge of up to 500 Billion Gold.

  • Unique art can only be obtained one stage at a time; you cannot secure a slot for multiple stages or pieces of art at any point in time. If you win a slot for a unique character and choose to get a new character, you can only get one piece of art--either the civilian or the first stage. If you choose to get the powered art of your character, you do not automatically get the civilian art (even on templates). You must acquire civilian art in another way, sorry!

  • Unique art can be earned for any character type: you can win a slot and use it for either civilian or powered art and it can be for a new character, alternate art, or a growth. If you win a unique slot, you only go on the cooldown for unique art; what you choose to get art of once you win the slot is irrelevant and will not result in additional cooldowns. You cannot get art for a stage you have not ICly earned so if the art you are applying for needs plot approval before you can obtain it, please make sure you have permission from the shop mule, The Space Cauldron, to proceed!

  • If you elect to move to unique art for a stage growth, please note that this counts as one of your three guaranteed pieces of art to cover your character's growth. You are simply upgrading from getting templated art to unique art; you will not be given an extra piece of templated art if you decide to use a unique art slot for a character's growth art.

MYO Art

  • MYO (Make Your Own) art has it's own specific set of rules. If you are interested in learning about them, please see the MYO Information Thread!

Guidelines for Working with your Artist

Please keep in mind that your artists put a lot of work into making sure you get the character you want. There are a few things it helps to keep in mind to prepare and make your lives (and theirs) easier:

  • Know what template you're getting the art on. While it is understandable that if you are asking for a new splice and it doesn't turn out like how you imagined you might ask for some changes or move to a different template, you shouldn't be asking for multiple splices to decide what you want to get art on.

  • Not all artists will be willing or able to do certain splices or template edits, but if you do request these things, please understand that it will take your artist longer to complete the art. This is extra work on top of doing the actual character. Similarly, collaborations can also take longer since it requires artists to transfer files between one another, so while one artist might have you next on their list of art to do, the artist you requested to collaborate with them might also have a list before they can work on your art.

  • Once you get a sketch on your chosen template, you cannot choose a new template. If you are not 100% certain that is the template you want, you should not ask your artist to move to the next stage of arting.

  • You cannot request massive changes past a certain point. WIPs should be provided after each stage (unless you and your artist discuss otherwise) and you can request appropriate changes at that stage—but you cannot request a totally new outfit after it's been lined, or change your mind after it's finished. There is approval at each stage and players should respect that it is a lot of work to do a piece of art—and far more work to redo something from scratch.

  • Changes and tweaks (appropriate for the stage of art you are working on) will be permitted, but if you approve the sketch, you shouldn't suddenly request a new outfit after you've received lineart. Artists are permitted to decline changing things beyond what is reasonable and stage-appropriate. If you received a WIP you are unsatisfied with, you should politely discuss changes with the artist before clearing it to move to the next stage of the arting process.

  • The standard procedure for WIPs involves the artist providing several WIPs and the player approving them up until the finished project. The procedure starts with splicing; if the artist is willing and the player requests it, a template can be spliced. Once this is approved or the player selects a template, a sketch is completed. Once the general sketch is approved, lineart (and possibly base colors) will be done. Changes, such as detailing or smaller accessories can still be added or changed at this stage, but once it is approved the next stage will have shading. At this point, only shading should be tweaked. Some artists do not follow this procedure, but you can double check with them when working out details.

  • Always communicate with your artist! If it's been awhile since you heard from them after they've started your art, it's okay to message them but do so respectfully. If you are having issues with your artist or feel the art is taking too long and want to move to a different artist, please make sure you let all involved parties know what the situation is or PM the shop mule, [b[In the Name of the Mule, so we can work with you. You can talk to your artist about the expected wait time to get to your art and complete it before they start. If you haven't heard from your artist in over a month (and have not been warned about a wait time), you can contact them; if they do not reply within two weeks, you may contact the mule to step in.

  • If an artist informs you that your powered character design will need tweaks to fit within uniform guidelines please respect this. This is nothing personal or against you or your character, but this is to ensure that all Factions stay within the same general appearance. Designs will be modified to fall within guidelines and reflect shop standards.

  • If you request CC, you lose the right to ask for major changes. You can ask for some tweaks, but if you tell the artist the design is up to them, you cannot ask for them to keep providing different designs until you are satisfied.

  • Please make sure that when providing references to art, you are not stealing or cosplaying someone else's original creation! It is okay to reference small parts of an existing concept, or to ask for things inspired by a specific piece / created with the same aesthetic feel, but you should not be using official art or fanart as the entirety of your character's uniform or outfit. Please also make sure that if you are using an adoptable you have purchased, you have permission to use that design on other platforms. Some adoptable artists have specific rules against using their design in any other manner and we want to make sure that no one is accidentally using a concept they don't have permission to use!

  • Try not to use public forums to net artists to do your art; it's generally preferred by the artists that you contact them through private IMs or PMs rather than post in group chats or in thread. This can put pressure on them to accept art and puts them in an unfair position. If you want any available artist and don't have much of a preference, you can use the grab-bag option when posting in the growth form!

  • Please do not edit, trace, or draw the official shop templates in any way if you don't have permission to use them. The only people who should be doing any art on the templates are the shop's official artists or anyone applying to be an official shop artist. If you need to design an outfit or give reference, please use a different template or base. Many can be found online if you search for templates to draw on!

  • Remember to save your art and not just direct link to your artists' server! If you do not save your art and host it yourself, you risk losing your art, as not all artists will keep hosting the link for you after it has been posted. There are many free image hosting websites online, so please make use of them instead!

  • Please respect your artists. Many of them provide growths at no cost to you, and thanks to them the shop is able to give away so many free characters. Please remember that artists spend hours of their time trying to do art for you, so the least you can do is say please and thank you to make sure they know that their work is appreciated!

Please understand that our artists volunteer their time and talent to our shop. If you disrespect them, harass them, or otherwise mistreat them, they do not have to do art for you. Artists are not obligated to work with players who make them feel unsafe and have the right to block players who have consistently disobeyed rules or proper etiquette. A single bad experience will likely not yield any sort of punishment, but if a player is consistently rude, disrespectful, or otherwise cruel to their artist, the artist has the right to block them. A player can easily avoid this by being polite, respectful, and grateful to their artist for working with them to provide their art. If you do not get along with an artist, please do not deliberately seek them out to do your art in an attempt to harass them. Please use common sense and good manners. Nobody wants to be punished or excluded from shop activities, but we will not tolerate our artists being mistreated.

The Artists

In the Name of the Moon employs a number of incredibly talented artists; if you're looking for some information about their availability or what they will or won't do, you can check here:

Full-Time Artists

Quote:
Username: Guine
Availability: My availability depends on your willingness to wait. I am almost always available to place something on my list; however, there are factors that may delay art production. It will take longer if there is a Meta or event going on in the shop, as well as if there is something happening in my personal life. I don't want to sugar coat it, so if you are not willing to wait up to a month, maybe longer, it would probably be best to approach someone else.
Wait Expectancy: As stated above, it depends on what is going on in the shop and my personal life. It may take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks. Again, I don't want anyone upset if it takes longer. Plan on longer, and it'll be a nice surprise if it's shorter.
Will not do: I will do anything, if you are willing to wait. Unique splices and edits are preferred over creating new templates, but I will if necessary. I am open to CC, but understand that you are giving up your right to the design beyond what you request.
Work Flow: You will get a WIP for the sketch, lines with flats, and shading.
Samples:
Corrupt Guardian Cat Katya
Super Sailor Sidouer
Knight Delphi of Polaris
General Jet
Knight Sessrumnir of Jupiter
Transcended Eternal Sailor Ganymede

Quote:
Username: Sylent Nyte
Availability: Check here
Wait Expectancy: For full art, 4-6 weeks (ideally). If collabing, once the art gets passed to me it's typically only a week or two depending on the stage of art/amount of work needing to be done. HOWEVER, I have taken between 3-6 months so there are no guarantees - I am very slow at times but I will be honest and upfront with that. If you're not willing/prepared for a potential long wait, it would be best to ask another colorist or request me for a collab only.
Will not do: Full CC, full youma (unless a collab) and I don't love ruffles & lace. I will splice, but I will not do heavy redraws/new templates. I always prefer growths & alt powered rather than new characters, and I will always say yes to collaborating with other artists.
Work Flow: Splice (if requested) > Approval > Sketch > Approval > Lineart & Flat Colors > Approval > Shading/Final Product > All Versions Sent & art is posted to shop thread(s)
*note: for schoolkid civs, I only send a sketch (with colors) for approval and then send the final product (as typically it's just hair/accessories)

Quote:
Username: Whimsical Blue
Availability: Open to work through special slots; see custom thread
Wait Expectancy: Art should be done within a month of taking it on. I tend to do sketches in a batch so that I can work on things while waiting on approvals, and so people have something to look at while they wait. Art (unless really complicated) tends to be done all in one sitting if at all possible.
Will not do: Nothing much I'm unwilling to do as far as splices, redraws, new templates and characters.
Work Flow: Typically, I will send out a sketch with flat colors for approval and to make any adjustments you need. Once that's approved I go into lines and shading. I confirm the character once its done before I post it, but I typically only do the one WIP. I DO however, livestream my work a lot, and will let you know if I do yours so you can watch.

Quote:
Username: Bronze Coffee
Availability: Open -- but DM me on Discord or Gaia first
Wait Expectancy: 1-3 months
Work List: Here
Will not do: CC designs, growths with no direction, intricate deigns such as lace
Work Flow: I will send a sketch, colored, to the player and they get to say if they need changes. This is the only time I offer to change things. If yes, I make those changes and send the new colored sketch. From there I start the lines, often sending plenty of WIPs, then color and shading.

I do have commissions, and I work a part time job, as well as a complicated home life. That is why the wait is long.

Additionally: If I have done a stage for you, be it a growth, or a base stage, I automatically accept these growths. Contact me about it and then post in my customs thread.

Quote:
Username: amasis

Availability: I am currently working through a worklist! I have [0/5] general slots open for art. Please contact me on Discord if I have slots open, and you think I might be a good fit.

Wait Expectancy: I do have some health issues on top of a full-time job, so waits for me can be a little longer. Overall, though, it depends heavily on which part(s) of the process I'm taking on and how complex the character is, plus whether or not I need to run anything by mods. This is a decent rough estimate laid out per stage:
  • Sketch--one week or less for civilians or 1st level characters, 1-2 weeks for higher stages
  • Lines--one week, maybe two if the character is super complex
  • Flats--a week
  • Shades--a month or so

As far as updates, I usually send along screenshots of your piece not only at checkpoints, but whenever I've done enough work on it to be worth showing you! If you want more frequent updates, feel free to ask me on Discord. Please keep in mind that my schedule is generally opposite everyone else's since I work 6:00p to 6:30a Friday through Sunday (minimum, often more), and I keep the same sleep schedule all week. Please be patient if you send a message on the weekends or during the day!

Work List: unnecessarily ornate spreadsheet thus: [xXx]

Will not do: I prefer not to do 100% CC! I am also happiest if someone else does the sketch stage for me, but this isn't a requirement or anything. I'm comfortable doing splices and edits, but will have to look at them on a case-by-case basis.

Work Flow: I'll send along, at minimum, the finished version of each stage of the art I'm assigned. For example, if I'm doing the whole piece myself, I'll send along the sketch, the lines, the flats, and the final shaded version! Again, this is at minimum. Like mentioned in the wait expectancy section, I'll also probably send along screenshots in the middle of a section, just for fun. Step by step, you can generally expect it to go this way:

  1. I assemble your references, ask for anything I'm perplexed about, talk it over with you if I need to, etc.
  2. Sketch time! This doesn't usually take very long unless the concept is very complicated. It might take longer if I need to splice a base together.
  3. I send it to you/mods (as applicable) for approval. Once I have it, I move on! If I need to make changes, I let everyone involved know, adjust the sketch, and show it off again.
  4. I line everything! The amount of time this takes is entirely dependent on how complex the art is.
  5. The art gets shown off again. Checkpoint #2!
  6. Flats get thrown down, I go cross-eyed obsessing about pixel border gaps, the usual.
  7. Checkpoint #3! If the colours seem off, let me know! I colourpick from references/swatches when available, but if they need to adjust, I'm happy to do that as long as it stays within the shop rules.
  8. Shading! This section is what takes the longest for me, but is also the stage where you're most likely to get updates between checkpoints Just Because.
  9. "Final". This is just where I send off the final piece to you (and the mods if necessary) for last adjustments. This is a good time to remind me if you don't want the art posted publicly! If the art is all good, the process is finished!

When will I accept changes? Generally, any time before the lining is complete, unless I forgot something, or something needs to be adjusted in a subsequent stage to fit shop requirements (bodice colours, etc.). Once the art is done and signed off on, I won't do any changes except for something getting forgotten that was discussed previously.

Do I stream? Sometimes! If you don't want me to stream your piece, feel free to let me know!

Availability: Currently on hiatus!
Wait Expectancy: Lengthy. School starts in a week for me.
Work Flow: Because I am a greedy attention shark, I typically show progress updates as often as I can. Sketch, lines, flats will be the minimum. Edits can be requested at any point in the process, so long as anything major is handled up front. No adding huge pieces of clothing once I'm past the lineart stage, but small patches or jewelry would be fine. And color corrections are no sweat at any point.

Availability: Grab bag only [atm]
Wait Expectancy: 2 week - 1 month
Work List: Kao Worklist
Will not do: Will do most things, but I'm not fond of lots of metal or complicated weapons.
*I love CC*
Work Flow: Messy sketch --> Cleaned up sketch --> Lines and Flats ---> Shaded

If you're on discord, i have a tendency to poke people randomly with updates. I work full time, 40 - 50 hrs per week, I will let people know if I'm having a busier week.

Wait Expectancy: I do have a full time job, but I will generally get an initial colored sketch to you within a week, barring any unusual circmstances. After that, progress may be slower or faster depending on RL time available, but I am going to do my best to take no longer than a month after sending the sketch.
Will not do: It's not that I won't do certain things, it's more I have things I'd prefer not to do. I'm not a fan of steampunk aesthetics or anything too....mechanical? Long, particularly straight, hair is tedious and I'd really rather not.... I'm definitely more in to working on order senshi than other things.
Work Flow: Colored Sketch >> Lined+Flats >> Finished!! When I'm in the work zone, I really kinda hate having to wait for approval to finish. Whoops. Haha!

Availability: I take Grab Bag frequently, but am generally available to take on requests. My Work Log has a detailed listing of how much I'm working on. I will do edits, new templates, and unique/myo. biggrin
Wait Expectancy: Most likely a 3 week turnaround between acceptance and complete, not accounting for delays in approval or unexpected RL emergencies. Often much faster.
Work Flow: Basic flats -> final flats -> Shading. I send updates at important stages or if I would like the player to give their opinion on a style choice. I will accept changes until final flats are approved, at which point only color corrections are OK.

Wait Expectancy: I don't really have a timeline. Sometimes I get things done super quick - other times it takes longer. I am trying out doing art on iPad Pro, so I'm hoping my coloring time gets more consistent!
Will not do: Nothing really. I do prefer female over male, but more because I like cutesy things!
Work Flow: Sketch > Line & Colors > Finished! I'm always up for other in between updates (if you'd like)

Availability: I am always available pending visits to my mother's so maybe just a few days a month that I'm not free at least for a few hours to do art. I am up for collabing with anyone at any stage though I do have to run things by blue for approval as I am still new and learning! Discord is where I live SaraGreene #1984

Wait Expectancy:
Sketch: Less than one week pending blue's approval and redlining
Inking: Less than a week in most cases pending approval.
Flats: Within a day of completing lines
Shaded/Done: 1-3 weeks depending on work/streaming

Work List: Trelloooooo

Will not do: I'm not able to do full start to finish yet but things I am uncomfortable with so far are animal facial features for youma and DSS as well as extreme amounts of ruffles and pleats until I get more practice. I prefer not to do 100% CC at this point in time so that I can learn more about design transitions between stages.

Work Flow: (I am only doing Lineart for now but this is a standard workflow I use in my other shops)
Sketch: 1 day to 1 week. Sent to blue for approval first and redlining, may be sent more than once to finalize details between blue and the commissioner.
Inking: Less than a week in most cases pending approval from blue
Flats: 1 day to 1 week then approval sent to confirm with blue that everything fits the shop rules as I learn.
Shaded/Done: 1-2 weeks sent for final approval to blue and the person commissioning.

Availability: As of July 2023 I am currently closed for new art and collabs as I work through the April/May Raffle, Starfall Event, personal growths, and certs. ETA on reopening is the end of September.

Wait Expectancy: This really depends on when you catch me. The average wait time for each will be 2-7 days depending on complexity. This means if you're number three on my list then that's up to 3 weeks out.

Template Edits: N/A
Sketching: I don't do design work, sorry.
Inking: 2-7 days depending on complexity.
Flats: 1-3 days
Shades: Forever... 6 months... Better not to ask, sorry.

Work List: Contact me privately since most on my list are my own characters, pre-made raffles I'm working on, or event art. I'll work with the player to make room since most items on my list are flexible.

Will not do: I will not do splices, redraws, or new templates. I'm not comfortable doing any type of tattoos, scars, transcended markings, or facial hair. I cringe when asked to do very detailed hair with lots of braids, small waves, or tight curls, but I might still give it a go.

Don't mind doing: I don't mind fur, (long wolf fur, short cat fur, curly wool, etc), lace, transparent fabric, small details etc.

Work Flow: I get asked to help and shunt my personal art aside and agree. It is assumed when I receive the sketch that the art is fully approved by both staff (if required) and player. I will not make any changes to a sketch outside of cleaning up the sketch, for example: making sure each shoe has the same number of laces and elements are symmetrical (unless it is an asymmetrical design). This means no adding accessories, no changing the hairdo, etc. Sketches are lined and flatted then sent to the player for approval. Once my part is done it is either sent back to the sketch artist or to the person who will be doing the shading. Please note, I will not reach out to other artists to check availability or willingness to complete the shading, this will be the player's responsibility. Sometimes I'll stream, please let me know if you want to watch otherwise it is usually only for 1-2 other people just to keep me company and on task. In that same vein let me know if I shouldn't stream if it is a plot-sensitive piece of art.

Alternate Powered Art

Alternate powered art is art you can get of an existing powered character. It is an extra piece of art and you can acquired it to represent any change change in your character's appearance for their current stage. It is most useful in depicting significant changes--such as a side swap, Transcendence/Ascendance, half-youmafication, or a chibi growing into an adult, but you don't need an IC reason to want a different piece of your character!

Alternate Powered Art is most often purchased by saving up Crown Tokens, though sometimes may be given out in Shop Events, or won through Customs.

Alternate Powered Art comes with some specific rules, so please keep them in mind:

  • Alternate Powered Art has a cooldown time of six months, so when purchasing please make sure you factor this in to other plots!

  • This is an alternate image of an existing character; vast changes will require GM permission (and usually a plot) but you don't need permission to change hair (style or color), or minor accessories/design changes that do not exceed 10% of the overall design.

  • If your new design exceeds the 10% limit, you will need to send in a PM to the GMs to discuss this, and you will need a plot to do so! Transcendence/Ascendance, Half or Full Youmafication, Chibi Aging all need to have plots, so if you are sending one of these in and want your uniform to change some in the process, just include what you have in mind! Side-Swapping will always have more than 10% changes but do not need design approval as long as the new design reflects the original design but has been modified to reflect the rules of the new faction.

  • Unavoidable stylistic differences (such how style differences between one artist to another) are not included in the 10%, either. Some characters have very detailed patterns or designs, or very intricate accessories that cannot be easily recreated. One artist may draw feathers differently from another--these are stylistic differences.

  • This Alternate Powered Art can only represent your character in their current stage; it is not Alternate Universe art! You could get Alternate Powered Art of your Eternal Senshi, but you couldn't get an Alternate Powered Art piece of their Corrupted counterpart unless they have been or will be corrupting in the extremely near future.

  • Fourth-stage characters of any faction are ineligible for templated alternate art. This includes Order princes/princesses in their Eternal senshi form as well to keep things fair across the board. You may, however, win alternate art slots in events and such to be done by Natsube or commission her off-Gaia.

Pricing

An alternate piece of stage art costs the same as a single stage of powered art: one billion gold. If your design is particularly complicated, an artist may charge up to 250 million extra. This will be discussed prior to them starting your art!

Powered Uniform Guidelines

Each faction has some specific uniform guidelines that are expected to appear on all pieces of art. While there is some freedom in design elements, everything listed in the faction uniform information should be depicted on the art in a reasonably identifiable manner. For example, Senshi require a front bow; your character might have a neck tie, cravat, sash, something. You're allowed to be creative but it's the intent of the guideline that we want to see. Substitution is allowed but omission is not.

If an artist says your design will not fly please respect that. The staff here will always try to work with you, but the artists know better than anyone what fits within design rules, so if you are asked to change something, please understand!

There are a few things that all factions should keep in mind:

  • Underaged characters should not have overly provocative/'sexy' outfits; please plan uniform according to appropriateness for their age.
  • Personal Items are outside uniform guidelines. Personal Items need to be approved and ICly acquired before they can appear on art, but these are accessories outside of the normal faction guideline.
  • Masks or items that cover the eyes will not be permitted as part of the uniform designs! Some masks, such as doctor's masks, are permissible because they only cover the lower half of the face, but full face masks or masks designed to cover the eyes cannot be worn on art. Goggles, visors, glasses, or other eye-wear that is at least semi-transparent can be worn on the art.
  • Small magical elements can appear on official artwork, but this must be in some way tied to the visual effects of your character's magic or sphere. This should not depict a full attack nor should it dominate the artwork. Artists may or may not choose to include this upon request; it is not guaranteed to appear on artwork if requested.

Faction Checklists

Quote:
White Moon Senshi:

        [+] Tiara
[+] Sailor Collar with stripe(s) that reflect stage
        [+] Chest Bow
        [+] Brooch
        [+] White/cream/off-white Bodice
[+] Buttbow (or substitute sash around waist)
[+] Super Senshi need two stripes on bottoms or two layers of fabric
[+] Eternal Senshi need three stripes on bottoms or three layers of fabric
[+] Eternal Senshi need a pair of white, fluffy wings at their lower back. A second, smaller set of wings are optional
[+] If Transcended, glowing marks on skin
[+] If a Deep Space Senshi they must follow art appearance rules
        [-] Extensive Armor
        [-] Weapons
        [-] Capes
[-] Masks that cover the eyes
[-] Symbols reserved for other factions (listed below)

  • Do they have a tiara? Tiaras can look like the traditional canon tiara, but can also be substituted with a headpiece (such as a hat, bandana, a headband). All headpieces must be worn atop the head or over the forehead.

  • Do they have a Sailor Collar? This can be a traditional Sailor Collar, some sort of scarf or wrap, or any other design element, however it MUST be easily identifiable on the senshi and exist below their chin and at or above their shoulders. A choker or thin necklace wouldn't count. The collar cannot be easily confused with another uniform piece; the collar cannot double as a chest bow, for example, these need to be two distinct pieces. The collar must have stripes to denote rank (one for basic, two or super, three for eternal). Senshi collars that could function as or be mistaken for a cape or capelet should not exceed a length past the waist at any stage, and should be no longer than ~the armpit at first stage and ~mid upper arm at second stage.

  • Do they have a chest bow? This might be a traditional sailor bow or a similar accessory, such as a tie, but it must be obviously present and a distinctive part of the uniform. It should not be mistaken for any other uniform requirement.

  • Do they have a senshi brooch located somewhere on their torso? The brooch must appear somewhere on the Senshi’s torso between the neck and waist. The brooch may appear as high as on the senshi collar, on the chest bow, on the bodice, or as low as on the senshi sash or a belt around their waist. The brooch must be located on the torso; it cannot appear on the head, arms, or legs.

  • Is the bodice predominantly white/cream/off-white? The bodice is the lowest layer of fabric worn over the chest and should be visible.

  • Does the Senshi have a butt bow? Butt bows can be substituted with sashes or any other easily identifiably accessory around the waist/butt area.

  • Does the Senshi have any armor? Senshi may have very slight armor appear on their artwork, but it should be predominantly decorative and not fully functioning. Armor is typically a faction feature of Knights so should be used sparingly on Senshi.

  • Is the Senshi Holding anything? Senshi should not be holding any weapons; they may have their approved personal item appear on their artwork but weapons are reserved for Knights and Negaverse Agents. Senshi may have small magical elements that reflect their sphere appear on their artwork, such as flower petals or sparkles.

  • Does the Senshi have anything that can be mistaken as a cape? These are a faction design feature of Knights and Negaverse agents; at higher stages, senshi might have capelets, but these should be reviewed by staff to ensure they are consistent. No accessories should ever be able to pass for, or be confused for, such things as capes; if a scarf has enough fabric/similar volume to a cape and falls in a similar way (behind the character), it should be treated as one and the design will need to be adjusted to reflect faction and rank.

  • Is the character wearing a mask? Masks or items that cover the eyes or top half of the face will not be permitted, but masks that cover the lower half of the face are allowed. Full face masks or masks designed to cover the eyes cannot be worn on art. Goggles, visors, glasses, or other eye-wear that is at least semi-transparent can be worn on the art.

  • Is the character wearing age appropriate clothes? Underaged characters should not have overly provocative/'sexy' outfits.

  • Personal Items are outside uniform guidelines. Personal Items need to be approved and ICly acquired before they can appear on art, but these are accessories outside of the normal faction guideline.

  • Is the Senshi a Chibi? If templated, they must be on chibi senshi lines. The uniform cannot be scandalous or provocative in nature.

  • Is the Senshi Super? If so, they must have either two stripes on their senshi bottoms to denote rank, or they must have at least two layers of fabric to denote rank. If the Senshi is using layers to denote rank and already had two layers of fabric at a previous stage, they must gain an additional layer of fabric.

Is the White Moon Senshi Eternal? If so, they must have either three stripes on their senshi bottoms to denote rank, or they must have at least three layers of fabric to denote rank. If the Senshi is using layers to denote rank and already had three layers of fabric at a previous stage, they must gain an additional layer of fabric. They must also have a pair of white, feathered wings. Both Eternal Senshi wings should be visible no matter what angle the character is at; the wings do not have a minimum size as long as they can both be seen at all angles, but they do have a maximum size; if they are standing with their arms straight out, the wings should not expand past the character’s elbow. The wings should be attached to the lower back, just above the butt. Wings should not extend above the armpit or below mid thigh; wings should not expand the entire length from the armpit to mid thigh but they can take up 3/4 of that space on any design. Because senshi wings can be done in so many different styles, there is some variation in how they can appear based on artistic interpretation of feathered wings, but the general size/mass should not exceed what is presented in these samples [1] [2]. Dual sets of wings are optional and may appear similar to these samples: [1] [2]

  • Is the Senshi Transcended? If so, they will need glowing markings across their body. The amount of visible markings is up to the player, but at least one glowing mark should be visible. They may substitute their tiara and instead have the symbol of their celestial body on their forehead.

  • Are they using symbols from another faction? Some symbols are reserved for specific factions. Symbols that are faction locked include the Vanguardian Emblem and Knight Symbols, which are spoilered below for easy access. Characters may use a five pointed star very sparingly in other designs, but it should not be used as a singular motif and should also not appear on a Senshi’s Brooch or Tiara. If a character’s design looks too similar to another faction, players may be asked to replace any symbols, no matter how sparingly they are used.

  • Is the character a Deep Space Senshi? If so, they will need to follow all rules for non-human Senshi. They must be humanoid, bipedal characters. They can have vibrant or non-human colored skin, textured skin, animal or fantasy ears that are close in size to a human’s, or non-human pupils without extra approval. Skin textures or patterns should not be mistaken for Transcended or Ascended markings. Anything that can easily be hidden with a glamour and does not add additional features (such as extra appendages) does not have limitations. They may have animal or fantasy-like features, but extra features or appendages should be no more than 15% of their body in art. This means, extra appendages should only take up about as much space on the art as the character’s arm. They can have extra cosmetic features or appendages. Extra features or appendages might include horns or antlers (that are either dulled or too sensitive to be used as weapons) that are no more than half a foot in length and width, fangs (that could reasonably fit in a human mouth and cannot be used to do extra damage), or tails (prehensile tails would not be permitted; the tails can swish or move but cannot be used to grab anything or lash out to do damage). Deep Space Senshi may have wings, but these must be small and can flutter but cannot be capable of flight. They cannot be mistaken for Eternal Senshi wings; they should be smaller than standard Eternal Senshi wings and should not be located below the shoulder blades. They can be black or white and feathered, or be bat wings, but they must not look like Eternal Senshi wings. They cannot have additional arms, legs, or largely altered appendages/limbs. Fur and scales may cover up 10% of their body and not tie into the 15% of extra appendages they are permitted. These designs must be approved by staff, typically in the stamping stage and again in the sketch stage.

Knights:

[+] Uniform Matches Knight Appearance Themes
[+] Uniform has appropriate Knight Symbols
[+] Uniform has appropriate Knight Color Scheme
        [+] Weapon on Art
[+] The appropriate amount of armor per stage (Pages less than 10%, Squires less than 30%, Knights less than 50%)
[+] If Transcended, glowing marks on skin
        [-] Cape before third stage
[-] Masks that cover the eyes

  • Does the uniform match the appearance themes of their aligned planet? While designs can be inspired by other elements, they should also be predominantly inspired by the appearance themes of the world the Knight's Wonder is located on.

  • Can you clearly identify the symbols of the Knight's assigned Planet or Celestial body? These symbols should be easy to spot; if small symbols are being used, they should be plentiful; if there are larger symbols that are immediately noticeable, there may be fewer. Knights should only have symbols from their affiliated Planet or Celestial Body on their uniform. A gallery of Knight symbols, color themes, and appearance themes can be found here.

  • Are the colors of the uniform predominantly from the color swatch of the Knight's assigned Planet or Celestial Body? In addition to colors from the Knight Swatches, Knights may use white or light gray in moderation. All knights can have up to 30% white or gray on their uniform, except for Cosmos Knights which can have up to 60% white. Additionally, all knights can have up to 20% of their uniform be a different color than their designated swatch. This is usually for small embellishments or detailing. Knights can also have metallic embellishments that do not count towards their 20%. Metallics should not dominate the Knight's coloring, but can be used for things such as jewelry or armor accessories. Knight weapons do not need to match the appearance theme or use the colors of the Knight swatch. A gallery of Knight symbols, color themes, and appearance themes can be found here.

  • Can the Knight uniform be mistaken for any other faction? They should not be too dark in color and should not be mistaken as Senshi. Knights should also clearly represent the planetary themes for the planet they serve and should not be easily mistaken as serving any other planet. A gallery of Knight symbols, color themes, and appearance themes can be found here.

  • Does the uniform have anything that might look like a cape? Capes cannot appear before Knight stage. A capelet that falls down to the waist may be permissible at Squire stage.

  • Is their weapon clearly displayed in the art?

  • Does the armor follow Knight rules? Armor is dependent on style and rank of a Knight, but planetary color and appearance theme need to be immediately noticeable and dominate the style. Knights do not need armor, but Pages should have no more than 10% of their uniform be armored, Squires no more than 30%, Knights no more than 50%, and Royal Knights no more than 70%. These are rough estimates and have variability depending on design and style so players are encouraged to PM if they have questions about armor.

  • Is the Knight Transcended? If so, they will need glowing markings across their body. The amount of visible markings is up to the player, but at least one glowing mark should be visible.

[-] Overly Sexy or Revealing Outfits
        [-] Cape before third stage
[-] Masks that cover the eyes
[-] Symbols reserved for other factions (listed below)

  • Does the uniform reflect a military or business style of dress? Negaverse uniforms must be professional; there is some creativity that can be taken here, but it is a firm requirement that they be inspired by military uniforms throughout the world or appear to be business professional. Formal Military, Military Dress Uniform, and Ceremonial Uniform are encouraged for Military inspiration, as tactical uniforms may have too much armor. These uniforms should not be overly sexy or revealing; they can be slightly provocative, but an overabundance of skin should not be showing and outfits should not be blatantly sexual.

  • Is the uniform predominantly dark in color? Some lighter accent colors are fine but dark colors should dominate the design.

  • Does the uniform have armor? Armor, such as plate mail, is not acceptable. Armor accessories are fine, but should be strategically placed to allow protection while still keeping in themes of the Negaverse.

  • Does the uniform have anything that might look like a cape? Capes cannot appear before General stage. A capelet that falls down to the shoulder blades may be permissible at Captain stage.

  • Is their weapon clearly displayed in the art?

  • Are they using symbols from another faction? Some symbols are reserved for specific factions. Symbols that are faction locked include the Vanguardian Emblem and Knight Symbols, which are spoilered below for easy access.

        [-] Cape before third stage
[-] Masks that cover the eyes
[-] Symbols reserved for other factions (listed below)

  • Half-Youma should always be posted for WIP approval, but the following guidelines will help in designing.

  • Does the character look humanoid? Half-youma should not have more than 50% abnormal or youma-esque features. Half youma characters may have abnormal skin or eye colors that would not be permitted on human characters. Half-youma mutations should be biological and should not be mechanical or cybernetic in nature.

  • Does the uniform reflect a military or business style of dress? Negaverse uniforms must be professional; there is some creativity that can be taken here, but it is a firm requirement that they be inspired by military uniforms throughout the world or appear to be business professional. These uniforms should not be overly sexy or revealing; they can be slightly provocative, but an overabundance of skin should not be showing and outfits should not be blatantly sexual. While half-youma uniforms should still be somewhat militaristic or professional, because of their youma side these uniforms may appear tattered or altered in such a way that would accommodate their new form.

A capelet that falls down to the waist may be permissible at Captain stage.

  • Does the youma look like an organic creature? They can come in many shapes and sizes and do not need to be humanoid. They can look beastly, be odd colored, have multiple limbs, etc. They cannot be mechanical or cybernetic in design.

  • Does the youma look like they could pass for a human? If so, this may be too close to half-youma guidelines and may need to be revised. Youma are fully corrupted and should not be able to pass for human.

  • Is the youma wearing clothes? They may wear clothes, but they should not be mistaken for any other faction.

  • Does the youma have wings? These should not look like Royal Senshi Wings, at all. Designs may permit feathered wings or appendages that could not pass for Royal Senshi Wings.

  • Is the youma holding anything? Personal items may be approved, but youma should not be equipped with weapons.

  • Are they using symbols from another faction? Some symbols are reserved for specific factions. Symbols that are faction locked include the Vanguardian Emblem and Knight Symbols, which are spoilered below for easy access. If a character’s design looks too similar to another faction, players may be asked to replace any symbols, no matter how sparingly they are used.

  • Is the character wearing age appropriate clothes? Underaged characters should not have overly provocative/'sexy' outfits.

Mauvian (Cat Form) :

[+] Five Point Star on Forehead (Or approved Court Symbol)
[+] Can be any color with any pattern but must be based off of a real cat breed
[+] Can share accessories also worn by Humanoid Form
[-] Masks that cover the eyes
[-] Symbols reserved for other factions (listed below)

  • Does the Mauvian have a five point star on their forehead? These must be light colored for Order and dark colored for Chaos. The only exception is if an Order Cat is meant to be attached to a Court, in which case they can have the Court Symbol on their forehead instead.

  • Does the Mauvian have reasonable coloring? Mauvians may be fantasy colors, however these shouldn't be hugely saturated. Cats cannot have more than two unnatural colors (so no rainbow cats), but they can have varying shades or values of the same general color.

  • Does the Mauvian have any accessories in this form that they share in their human form? Mauvians may wear a few accessories that are shared between both forms, or no accessories all, at player choice. Any accessories that appear on the Cat form must appear on their Humanoid form as well.

  • Are they using symbols from another faction? Some symbols are reserved for specific factions. Symbols that are faction locked include the Vanguardian Emblem and Knight Symbols, which are spoilered below for easy access. The Five Pointed Star can be used by Mauvians provided they cannot be mistaken for a Cosmos Knight. If a character’s design looks too similar to another faction, players may be asked to replace any symbols, no matter how sparingly they are used.

  • Is the character wearing a mask? Masks or items that cover the eyes or top half of the face will not be permitted, but masks that cover the lower half of the face are allowed. [+] Five Point Star on Forehead (Or approved Court Symbol)
[+] Ears and Tail (if Applicable) Showing; must be same color as Cat Form
[+] Whimsical or Fantasy inspired outfit
[-] Shoes; toes and heels must be exposed
[-] Masks that cover the eyes
[-] Symbols reserved for other factions (listed below)

  • Does the Mauvian have a five point star on their forehead? These must be light colored for Order and dark colored for Chaos. The only exception is if an Order Cat is meant to be attached to a Court, in which case they can have the Court Symbol on their forehead instead.

  • Does the Mauvian have reasonable coloring? Mauvians may be fantasy colors. Cats cannot have more than two unnatural colors (so no rainbow cats), but they can have varying shades or values of the same general color.

  • Does the Humanoid Mauvian have visible ears and tail showing? These should reflect the colors of their Cat Form fur. If the breed does not have a tail, they are exempt from this.

  • Is their clothing based on a whimsical or fantasy style? Their clothes are meant to be high fantasy or magical girl inspired, or any other extreme fantasy that cannot be confused for standard modern day clothes. These appearances should be very distinctive and unique.

  • Are their feet bare? All Humanoid Mauvians must have toes and heels exposed.

Mauvian (Senshi Form) :

[+] Five Point Star on Forehead (Or approved Court Symbol)
[+] Ears and Tail (if Applicable) Showing; must be same color as Cat Form
[+] Bodice must be White (Order) or Black (Chaos)
        [+] Transformation Item
[+] Some Traditional Senshi Traits (Tiara, brooch, collar, chest bow, butt bow)
        [-] Butt Wings
[-] Masks that cover the eyes
[-] Symbols reserved for other factions (listed below)

  • Mauvian Senshi should always be posted for WIP approval, but the following guidelines will help in designing:

  • Does the Mauvian have a five point star on their forehead? These must be light colored for Order and dark colored for Chaos. The only exception is if an Order Cat is meant to be attached to a Court, in which case they can have the Court Symbol on their forehead instead.

  • Does the Mauvian Senshi have visible ears and tail showing? These should reflect the colors of their Cat Form fur. If the breed does not have a tail, they are exempt from this.

  • Does the Mauvian Senshi have a bodice that reflects their alignment? Order Mauvians must have white or off-white based bodices and Chaos Mauvians must have black or very dark based bodices. The bodice is identified as the lowest layer of fabric worn over the chest.

  • Does the Mauvian Senshi have their transformation item? This should appear on art and is their personalized version of a henshin pen.

  • Does the Mauvian Senshi have some traditional senshi traits? These include tiara, brooch, collar, chest bows and butt bows. Mauvian Senshi are not real senshi so have much more freedom in their design but still need some of these elements.

  • Can the Mauvian Senshi be mistaken for any other faction? If so, it may need design tweaks. They can look similar to their bonded senshi and take inspiration from them but they should not look like they are the Senshi of any specific sphere. They should not have eternal butt wings.

Corrupted Senshi:

[+] Cracked Black Hole in Forehead and Chest
[+] Sailor Collar with stripe(s) that reflect stage
[+] Black or Extremely Dark Bodice
        [+] Extremely Long Hair
[+] Butt bow (or substitute sash around waist)
[+] Super Senshi need two stripes on bottoms or two layers of fabric
[+] Eternal Senshi need three stripes on bottoms or three layers of fabric
[+] Eternal Senshi need a pair of black, bat wings at their lower back. A second, smaller set of wings are optional
[+] If Ascended, black cracks along skin
        [-] Extensive Armor
        [-] Weapons
[-] Capes (Unless the character is Eternal and Ascended)
[-] Masks that cover the eyes
[-] Symbols reserved for other factions (listed below)

  • Do they have a cracked black hole in their forehead? Corrupted Senshi may have a tiara also if they choose but they must have a cracked black hole in their forehead. Designs are encouraged to show the cracked skin, but if impossible for both to show, at least one cracked hole, either on the forehead or the chest, should be clearly visible.

  • Do they have Sailor Collar?

  • Do they have a cracked black hole in their chest? Corrupted Senshi do not need chest bows or brooches like White Moon Senshi but they may have these elements if they choose. The cracked black hole is a necessity and cannot be substituted. Designs are encouraged to show the cracked skin, but if impossible for both to show, at least one cracked hole, either on the forehead or the chest, should be clearly visible.

  • Do they have incredibly long hair? This is typically knee-length, but in all situations should be significantly longer than the character's civilian form. The hair can be tied up or styled but should always be easily distinguished as being very long.

  • Is the bodice predominantly black/grey/navy/brown/dark-colored? The bodice is the lowest layer of fabric worn over the chest and should be visible.

  • Does the Corrupted Senshi have a butt bow? Butt bows can be substituted with sashes or any other easily identifiably accessory around the waist/butt area.

  • Does the Corrupted Senshi have any armor? Senshi may have very slight armor appear on their artwork, but it should be predominantly decorative and not fully functioning. Armor is typically a faction feature of Knights so should be used sparingly on Senshi.

  • Is the Corrupted Senshi Holding anything? Senshi should not be holding any weapons; they may have their approved personal item appear on their artwork but weapons are reserved for Knights and Negaverse Agents. Senshi may have small magical elements that reflect their sphere appear on their artwork, such as flower petals or sparkles. Corrupted Senshi may also be shown holding a starseed.

  • Does the Corrupted Senshi have anything that can be mistaken as a cape? These are a faction design feature of Knights and Negaverse agents; at higher stages, senshi might have capelets, but these should be reviewed by staff to ensure they are consistent. No accessories should ever be able to pass for, or be confused for, such things as capes; if a scarf has enough fabric/similar volume to a cape and falls in a similar way (behind the character), it should be treated as one and the design will need to be adjusted to reflect faction and rank. However, third stage Ascended Senshi can have capes. These should not conceal any other required uniform piece (such as wings or collar).

  • Is the Corrupted Senshi Super? If so, they must have either two stripes on their senshi bottoms to denote rank, or they must have at least two layers of fabric to denote rank. If the Senshi is using layers to denote rank and already had two layers of fabric at a previous stage, they must gain an additional layer of fabric.

Is the Corrupted Senshi Eternal? If so, they must have either three stripes on their senshi bottoms to denote rank, or they must have at least three layers of fabric to denote rank. If the Senshi is using layers to denote rank and already had three layers of fabric at a previous stage, they must gain an additional layer of fabric. They must also have a pair of black, bat-like butt-wings that are small and decorative. These must be black. Both Eternal Senshi wings should be visible no matter what angle the character is at; the wings do not have a minimum size as long as they can both be seen at all angles, but they do have a maximum size; if they are standing with their arms straight out, the wings should not expand past the character’s wrist. The wings should be attached to the lower back, just above the butt. Wings should not extend above the armpit or below mid thigh; wings should not expand the entire length from the armpit to mid thigh but they can take up 3/4 of that space on any design. Because senshi wings can be done in so many different styles, there is some variation in how they can appear based on artistic interpretation of bat wings, but the general size/mass should not exceed what is presented in these samples [1] [2]. Dual sets of wings are optional and may appear similar to these samples: [1] [2]

  • Is the Corrupted Senshi Ascended? If so, they will need black cracks stretching across their body.

Dark Mirror Senshi:

        [+] Tiara
[+] Detached Sailor Collar with stripe(s) that reflect stage
        [+] Metal Brooch
[+] Black Bodice, modest with no exposed skin from chest to waist
        [+] Moderately covered arms
[+] Metallic arm bands that cover half of arm from elbow to wrist
[+] Transparent overlay (attached to bodice between top of bodice and just below the bust)
[+] Butt bow (or substitute sash around waist)
[+] Super Senshi need two stripes on bottoms or two layers of fabric
[+] Eternal Senshi need three stripes on bottoms or three layers of fabric
[+] Eternal Senshi need a pair of black, fluffy wings at their lower back. A second, smaller set of wings are optional

Tiaras, also a necessity, usually use the same symbol as brooches, however this is not required.

  • Do they have a Sailor Collar? The collar must be detached from the bodice and sleeves. The collar must be a distinct piece and should not be extra fabric on the bodice. The collar can rest over or touch the bodice or sleeves, but their design must be unattached. For example, a scarf can rest on top of the bodice and sleeves, but it is not attached to either. A collar attached to a bodice (like a lapel) would not be valid.

  • Do they have a senshi brooch located somewhere on their torso? They must have a unique style brooch with some sort of a metal backing. The brooch must appear somewhere on the Senshi’s torso between the neck and waist. The brooch may appear as high as on the senshi collar, on the bodice, or as low as on the senshi sash or a belt around their waist. The brooch must be located on the torso; it cannot appear on the head, arms, or legs.

  • Are their arms at least moderately covered? This can be done with sleeves, gloves, or a combination of both.

  • Do they have metallic arm bands of some sort? These bracers must be placed between the elbow and the wrist and should cover at least half of that area of the arm. These are not armor or weaponized, but should be any metal color. They should not be confused with cuffs or bracelets.

  • Is the bodice black? Dark Mirror Bodices must be one solid piece (rather than bikini or two-piece) with no skin showing in the midriff area. They should not have bodices with holes or cuts designed to expose skin. Their uniforms should not show skin from the top of the bust to mid-thigh. If the bodice has slits designed for ease of movement, the cloth must be able to hang closed when standing still. The bodice is the lowest layer of fabric worn over the chest and should be visible.

  • Do they have a transparent overlay attached to the upper part of the bodice, anywhere between just below the collar or immediately below the bust, at lowest? While a sash or other accessory may cover the overlay, it needs to be clearly layered to imply the fabric is still attached at an appropriate point. While transparencies may be utilized in other aspects of the design, these will not count as the required overlay attached to the bodice. The overlay must cover the torso in some way. Overlays may appear as vests, and may have sleeves attached, but should always be below the collar. The overlays must fall over the bodice, so transparencies that are simply sleeves, skirts, or scarves would not count towards this.Fabric that is tied up (such as fashioned into a scarf), and sleeves alone would not count for the overlay. Transparencies traditionally start off shorter and lengthen as the senshi ranks up.

  • Does the Dark Mirror Senshi have a butt bow? Butt bows can be substituted with sashes or any other easily identifiably accessory around the waist/butt area.

  • Does the Dark Mirror Senshi have any armor? Senshi may have very slight armor appear on their artwork, but it should be predominantly decorative and not fully functioning. Armor is typically a faction feature of Knights so should be used sparingly on Senshi.

  • Is the Dark Mirror Senshi holding anything? Senshi should not be holding any weapons; they may have their approved personal item appear on their artwork but weapons are reserved for Knights and Negaverse Agents. Senshi may have small magical elements that reflect their sphere appear on their artwork, such as flower petals or sparkles.

Is the Dark Mirror Senshi Eternal? If so, they must have either three stripes on their senshi bottoms to denote rank, or they must have at least three layers of fabric to denote rank. If the Senshi is using layers to denote rank and already had three layers of fabric at a previous stage, they must gain an additional layer of fabric. They must also have a pair of black, feathered wings. Both Eternal Senshi wings should be visible no matter what angle the character is at; the wings do not have a minimum size as long as they can both be seen at all angles, but they do have a maximum size; if they are standing with their arms straight out, the wings should not expand past the character’s elbow. Vanguardians (Velencians):

        [+] Official Vanguard Uniform
[+] Cat-Slit eyes, pointed ears, soft pastel skin
[+] Rank Appropriate Brooch and Belt using the Vanguardian Emblem
        [+] Sci-Fi Weapon
[+] At least 75% of their base uniform must be worn at second stage
[+] At least 50% of their base uniform must be worn at third stage
        [-] Accessories at first stage
[-] Cape, no Caplet before third stage
        [-] Armor
[x] Because this is a new faction, please be prepared to work with staff as we continue to improve faction guidelines! Please ask questions about potential accessories or uniform changes between growths before getting art!

  • Does the uniform design reflect the official Vanguardian uniform? There are only three base styles to choose from; ceremonial with pants, ceremonial with skirt, and a bodysuit. No design offers any IC boosts and should be chosen based on comfort of wear. First stage characters should arrive with only their standard issue uniform, however as they grow in rank they can swap out pieces or add accessories. By second stage, they must still use at least 75% of their base uniform. By third stage, they should use at least 50% of their base uniform. This means, they may choose to edit parts of their uniform, such as cutting off sleeves, or tailoring the cut of their shirt, or altering their pants to be in a different style, but they require at the percentage to remain unchanged.

  • Do the uniform colors reflect the official Vanguardian uniform? The thistle purple base will always be the same, but primary/secondary accent colors are customizable; these accent colors should not change between stages without approval. The uniform base should always be the thistle purple used in this reference image. For Cadets: on the official ceremonial uniforms, primary colors/accents should be used on the undershirt, the bottom layer of the shoulder pads, the belt, the stripe of the pants/skirt, and the soles of the shoes; secondary colors/accents should be used on the piping of the top, the topmost layer of shoulder pads, the patches on the sleeves and boots, and the piping on the boots. On the official ceremonial uniforms, primary colors/accents should be used on the undershirt, the bottom layer of the shoulder pads, the belt, the stripe of the pants/skirt, and the soles of the shoes; secondary colors/accents should be used on the piping of the top, the topmost layer of shoulder pads, the patches on the sleeves and boots, and the piping on the boots. On the official bodysuit, primary colors/accents should be used on the bottommost layer of the shoulder pads, the topmost layer of belt, and as the piping that runs across the body suit (sleeves, torso, legs); secondary colors/accents should be used for the topmost layer of shoulder pads, the bottom most layer of the belt, as the patches on the sleeves and boots, and the accent colors on the boots. As a character grows, parts of their uniform may change colors (up to 25% of their uniform is customizable at second stage, and up to 50% at third stage) so color changes will be included in design changes if a player chooses to alter their uniform between growths.

  • Do they look like Velencians? Velencians have several notable differences from humans that should appear on earth, including cat-slit pupils in their eyes, slightly pointed ears, and soft pastel skin color. Hair and eyes can be any color.

  • Is their hexagonal rank brooch or belt buckle visible? Only one needs to be visible on the art, but they should both ICly be worn. The brooch should always be worn on the upper right part of the chest. The brooch has three colored parts inside; at first stage the top and left part of the brooch should be white while the right part is the same thistle color as their uniform. At second stage, the hexagonal brooch should upgrade so the top part is colored to match their primary color and the left part should remain white. At third stage, the hexagonal brooch should upgrade so the remaining white part on the left side is colored to match their secondary color.

  • Is their sci-fi weapon clearly displayed in the art? These can be any range of weapons but must obviously have a sci-fi inspiration. They will be at their most basic at first stage and as they grow in rank they should be logical progressions. Their weapons should be based on sci-fi type weapons and use a special crystal to power them; their crystal will always be the color as the primary color of their uniform. These weapons are typically not designed to do immense damage and are instead supposed to stun or incapacitate their target. Weapons should be approved prior to getting art of a character to confirm they meet IC guidelines.

  • Are they wearing accessories? Velencians cannot wear accessories on art while they are Cadets; they should only have their official Velencian uniform. They may wear vision or hearing aids, as these are not aesthetic accessories. By second stage, they may wear some accessories, such as jewelry, hair pieces, gloves, a jacket, etc; they still need to use the required percentage of their base uniform. They may swap out boots or other small pieces of their uniform, and they may wear gifts given to them by powered characters, or acquired as a civ. Their base uniform (or at least their rank appropriate percentage of it) should be clearly visible, and either their hexagonal rank brooch or belt buckle must be visible. There is more freedom at third stage than there is at second stage. Accessories are encouraged to reflect the colors of their uniform, however this is not required. Velencians do not need to accessorize as they rank up; they may wear the same base uniform regardless of rank; individual personalization is unique to them and their growth. However, they will still need to have appropriate hexagonal brooch and belt buckle design, and may have a military style capelet when they reach third stage.

  • Does the uniform have armor? Full pieces of armor should not appear on art. Small armor accessories may be acceptable by third stage, but this should never dominate the uniform.

  • Does the uniform have anything that might look like a cape? Velencians cannot wear capes unless they have reached fourth stage. They can have a military style capelet by third stage, but this should not fall down past the hips. This should use their primary or secondary accent colors, or both, but should look professional and classy.

  • Can the uniform be confused for any other faction? Velencians can accessorize their uniforms, either from things they find in their daily life or from gifts from other powered characters. Their uniforms should not be easily mistaken for any other faction.

  • Are they using symbols from another faction? Some symbols are reserved for specific factions. Symbols that are faction locked include Knight Symbols, which are spoilered below for easy access. Characters may use a five pointed star very sparingly in other designs, but it should not be used as a singular motif. If a character’s design looks too similar to another faction, players may be asked to replace any symbols, no matter how sparingly they are used.

  • Is the character wearing a mask? Masks or items that cover the eyes or top half of the face will not be permitted, but masks that cover the lower half of the face are allowed. Full face masks or masks designed to cover the eyes cannot be worn on art. Goggles, visors, glasses, or other eye-wear that is at least semi-transparent can be worn on the art.

  • Personal Items are outside uniform guidelines. Personal Items need to be approved and ICly acquired before they can appear on art, but these are accessories outside of the normal faction guideline.
