What is a Guardian Cat?

From the planet Mau, Guardian Cats are formally known as Mauvians and may be referred to as either. Mauvians are a race of technologically avid beings that have two forms – one that appears like an ordinary Earth cat, and another that more closely resembles a human with catlike ears and a catlike tail. They are identifiable by the star on their forehead; if they are affiliated with a Court or bonded to a Senshi, they may instead have a symbol on their forehead. Mauvians are an incredibly old race of aliens and existed even before the first Senshi was awakened. It has been their sacred duty to awaken all Senshi and work in tandem with the Senshi to keep the universe safe and protected.

On Earth, the Negaverse has taken notice of these Guardian Cats; knowing them to be a rare asset, the Negaverse seeks to corrupt what Guardian Cats they can. Guardian Cats for both Order and Chaos exist in Destiny City and each have unique roles and abilities!

Chaos Guardian Cats are unnatural; all Guardian Cats born or arriving on Earth started as Order. Chaos Mauvians exist only because a General Sovereign was able to push Metallia’s Chaos into them and draw them into the Negaverse.

Mauvians can arrive on Earth in one of three ways:

• As new Guardian Cats without past lives to be remembered. These Guardian Cats have never been on Mau, in this life or a previous one. They are the offspring of Mauvians on Earth.
• As reborn Guardian Cats; these Cats had a past life on Mau. Their memories are currently locked away and they cannot recall Mau with any clarity. Under certain circumstances, and with plot approval, they may unlock some memories of their past life (such as time spent with their bonded Senshi in the past), however they will never remember Mau or any meta details. Reborn Mauvians can only be born to Mauvian parents on Earth. Mauvian Kittens may awaken while they are with their parent/s (as long as one of the Mauvians is a player owned character), or separated from their NPC parents.
• As Guardian Cats placed in stasis during the fall of the Moon Kingdom. These Mauvians were alive a thousand years ago but have had all their memories locked away. These cats are unaware of the fact that they were not reborn like most of the others. Mauvians do not age while they are in stasis; to them, it would feel like they were just waking up from a long nap. Mauvians were put into stasis by magical means, so there is no way to naturally put them into stasis after they have awakened. Under certain circumstances, and with plot approval, they may unlock some memories of their life prior to entering stasis.

Regardless of how a Guardian Cat arrives on Earth, all of them will first appear to live as if they were a normal cat. A Guardian Cat may live on Earth for years before they awaken as a Guardian Cat. Until they awaken, their signature forehead star is hidden with a magical glamour to protect them from falling into the wrong hands. To awaken, a Guardian Cat usually has a spontaneous epiphany; they may awaken in a time of need or even during a mundane activity. Until they are awakened, they have no energy signature, no additional abilities, and cannot be corrupted. If an Agent attempted to corrupt an unawakened Mauvian it would be no different than trying to corrupt a normal Earth cat.

Once the Mauvian has their epiphany, they will gain the ability of deep thought and speech, as well as all Mauvian powers. A Guardian Cat who was in stasis was either put into stasis while on Earth around the end of the Silver Millennium or was put in stasis and drifted through space around the end of Silver Millennium. These Mauvians may awaken and immediately know they are Mauvians or may be disillusioned that they are a cat until they have an epiphany and awake. Though these cats were technically alive during the Silver Millennium, their memories before their time in stasis are locked away.

The youngest age a Mauvian can awaken is eight weeks old, however for a Mauvian to awaken at this age they would have to have been born to Mauvian parents on Earth. Most Mauvians will awaken when they reach a certain maturity or have gained certain life experiences, so it is most common for Mauvians to awaken after they are adults. Mauvians do not ‘age out’ of awakening; it would be possible for a Guardian Cat to live most of its life thinking it was a normal cat only to awaken in its senior years. Similarly, Mauvians of any age (provided they were weaned already) may have been put into stasis and would awaken on Earth at that age.

All Mauvians will instinctively know to travel to their Headquarters to learn what is going on. Once a Mauvian has awakened, they lose the glamour on their star and can be identified by powered individuals; at this point in time, they can be corrupted. No cat awakens corrupted; all Mauvians begin as Order, even those born to two Corrupted Mauvian parents.

Mauvians cannot uncover past life memories in the same way that other powered characters can; there are additional restrictions for where, and what, they can uncover. All Mauvians, Order and Chaos, are unable to travel to the Mauvian homeworld, Mau; as such, they cannot recall any homeworld or past life memories that may have taken place there. Order Mauvians may uncover some past life memories as long as they are personal in nature and are not related to politics of the Silver Millenium, meta happenings, or Mau. To do this, a player will need to PM the shop mule, The Space Cauldron, to describe the memory they would like to uncover as well as how they will uncover it. In most cases, the Mauvian simply has to be at the Wonder or Homeworld of someone they were close to in their previous life. Cats who awakened from a stasis would not have memories of their previous life but instead would simply recall a memory from before they were put into stasis, though they would still need to PM the mule with a description of the memory. A Corrupted Mauvian cannot naturally uncover any past life memories, even if they were invited to the Homeworld or Wonder of an Order character they used to be close with.

With plot approval, in some circumstances a Mauvian can be awakened from a Stasis Pod they were sealed in while on another world. Mauvians who were put into stasis on any world other than Earth would be sealed in a stasis pod that protects them for the duration of their stasis. Some factors will need to be considered when deciding how long ago a Mauvian was put into stasis; a Mauvian cannot survive alone on a world, so if the Mauvian was put into stasis on the world of a Senshi who awakened in present day, they would have needed to be put in stasis during the fall of the Silver Millennium. Mauvians living on the world of a Deep Space Senshi could have been put into stasis at any point in time. While in stasis, a Mauvian’s memories will be foggy and they will not have clear information about the Silver Millennium or Mau, and their memories about being put into stasis or the downfall of the world they are on may be foggy at player discretion. Like Mauvians who are awakened on Earth, they will not have all of their memories, but they can recover personal memories over time and through roleplays on worlds that were important to them or where they made their memories. These Mauvians are functionally no different from Mauvians that awaken from their stasis on Earth however they can only be released from their stasis pod by a character other than themselves. These Mauvians should only be found at Homeworlds or Wonders of characters who have reached third stage and unlocked a sustainable world, and players will need to PM The Space Cauldron to discuss where the Mauvian was sealed, why they were sealed, and how they will be found and rescued from the stasis plot.

Mauvian Physiology

Mauvians are an alien species, and as such they do not function in the same way as the majority of the characters in the shop. As aliens, they also have multiple forms they can access when unlocked, and each form allows them to utilize different abilities.

Appearance

Mauvians are most likely to be found in their cat form for safety purposes. They come in many shapes and sizes, and can appear to be any domestic (or domestic hybrid) breed. The cat cannot be a fantasy/made up breed, wild cat or large cat breed, and may be some fantasy colors provided they meet Faction Art Guidelines. When they are in their Humanoid and Mauvian form, they retain cat ears and tail that match the breed of their cat form.

Health

While there are many things that differentiate them from normal Earth cats, they do not have the same health requirements as a standard house cat; they do not need to go to the vet to get checkups, they do not have any vulnerabilities to standard feline diseases, and they do not need to maintain any specific diet.

If injured while in their Cat form, a vet could reasonably treat a Guardian Cat without recognizing them as an alien, but if they were in their Humanoid form, they could be treated as if they were a human. Guardian Cats can become sick with cold or allergies, and are more likely to become sick from things that can make humans sick rather than cats. For this reason, Mauvians typically stick to a diet any human could expect to follow. Many Mauvians find cat food to be disgusting and can become ill eating it. A Mauvian can become sick from overeating, eating expired food, or eating poison, though their stomachs are fairly strong. Mauvians can also become drunk, and eat things a cat might not be able to, like chocolate.

Mauvian Stars/Forehead Symbols

The star (or Bonded/Court Symbol) on a Mauvian’s forehead is an immense source of their power. Before they are awakened, they have a glamour that protects them from being identified as Mauvians, and they themselves do not even know until they have a sudden epiphany. From that point in time forward, they cannot summon a glamour to hide their star. This star (or symbol) may feel smooth and hard, like plastic, or some may feel soft and fuzzy like the surface of a peach. It is unique to the Cat and can be written however the player likes, and the star may feel different depending on if they are in their cat form or their humanoid form. One thing that is consistent, however, is that if the star or symbol is covered, the Mauvian will rapidly lose power and cognitive abilities.

A Mauvians forehead star is the conduit for its power (for both Order and Chaos Mauvians). Covering a cat's star for just a few moments won't do anything to it (nor would permanently wearing a magical clothing accessory of their own that slightly obscures it), but if the star was covered unnaturally for a prolonged period of time, they would slowly lose their powers. Between twenty four and thirty six hours, they would lose access to their magical abilities and be on par with normal cats (with no ability to talk, shoot magical layers, create henshin pens or upgrade senshi, etc.) As soon as the star is uncovered once more they will be reconnected to Mau and be able to speak and think as normal, though it may take a few hours for the rest of their abilities to return to their full capacity.

Cats may or may not be able to access memories from times when their star was covered, though there will almost always be some loss of memories of the events that transpired while their star (or symbol) was covered. They may have a complete blackout or only a few gaps in memory; all memories should be a little fuzzy, though. The longer they had their star covered for, the harder it would be for them to clearly remember everything that transpired while it was covered.

Aging

Mauvians age differently than normal cats once they unlock the power inside of them; they generally grow at the same rate an earth cat would until they reach their second year. Mauvians have extended lifespans and would not appear to age after they reached adulthood. If a Mauvian awakens while it is considered a ‘senior’ cat in normal cat years, they may feel rejuvenated and have more energy as if they were back in their prime (though a player may elect to play their character as feeling the effects of age). Similarly, a player may awaken their Mauvian as a kitten and have them grow into adulthood at the rate of a normal cat or play off of the Mauvian’s extended lifespan and keep their Mauvian a kitten. This is up to the player and can vary between characters due to the unique breeds and genetics that make up the Mauvian population.

Reproduction

Guardian Cats cannot have offspring with normal cats; even if they tried before they awakened, they would not have been genetically compatible. The desire to breed with a normal cat should diminish when a Guardian Cat awakens and realizes they are a Mauvian. A Mauvian can breed with another Mauvian and produce Mauvian offspring, though! Mauvians usually have only one kitten per litter; though rare, it is possible to have more than one at a time. Gestation period is two months and all Mauvian pregnancies must be approved through staff. If two Mauvians breed, any offspring they have should be played as an NPC kitten, indistinguishable from a normal Earth cat, and should not have Mauvian abilities. Players are limited to one Mauvian each, so a friend who doesn’t already own a Mauvian could quest for the kitten; once the slot is acquired, the kitten can be played normally and awaken.

Abilities: Cat Form

Guardian Cats are unique in the way they grow, as they do not actually have 'stages' but rather have forms that they can unlock. All Guardian Cats start out in their basic cat form. Through hard work and perseverance (and meeting requirements!) they can unlock their humanoid form, but for now they are predominantly limited to spending most of their free time in this form. While in this form, they have a severely dampened energy signature; any other powered characters must be in extremely close proximity to a Guardian Cat to feel their energy signature.

Order and Chaos Mauvians both have different abilities at this stage!

Order Mauvians Can:

• Awaken senshi! This is a Guardian Cat’s primary job. They can sense an unawakened civilian’s starseed and approach them. They can sense a Senshi’s Name and Sphere and are capable of producing a Henshin Pen that allows the civilian to awaken and continue to power up into Senshi. They can also produce a Cell Phone as well as upgrade it! Mauvians can only sense Senshi that are unawakened; if a Senshi is powered down and in civilian form, the Mauvian will not be able to tell that they have a powered form.
• Upgrade Senshi who are ready for more power; to do this they simply upgrade the Henshin pen and focus on the Senshi’s starseed to help them unlock more strength.
• Access Order Mauvian Headquarters!
• Dampen the energy signature of large groups or conceal the energy signature of up to six Order characters at once. They can comfortably dampen energy signatures up to thirty feet away from them. It takes a significant amount of focus to suppress energy signatures (particularly if there are a large number of energy signatures being suppressed), so while suppressing energy signatures, cats can engage in conversation or small tasks but should not do anything particularly strenuous. A Mauvian should be able to suppress up to six energy signatures comfortably for two hours, however afterwards it would gradually become more and more difficult. Trying to conceal more energy signatures would be even more taxing, though an experienced cat might be able to conceal for longer or be less affected while concealing a larger group. They cannot conceal the energy signature of Chaos characters.
• Bond with a Senshi and/or ally with a Senshi Court
• Shoot a laser out of their forehead star. This expends a large amount of a Guardian Cat’s energy but is capable of stunning a target. It doesn't do damage, but it can stun a human or any average youma entirely. Very weak level youma may be temporarily dusted when hit with this beam, but this would be incredibly rare.
• Create a phone-like device to mimic Senshi Phones and allow them to access the Order Mauvian Database just as Senshi can. They will not be able to edit anything on the database unless they are back in Headquarters, but it allows them to communicate with other Order characters. A generic phone with the same features as the Senshi Phone (excluding ‘Homeworld Visit’ feature) can be created without permission, but any unique design or features need to be approved before they can be ICly created.
• Create or summon small trinkets to give away. These need plot approval, but all cats can give away one non-magical item to characters that they awaken, upgrade, or have grown close to. These are meant to be gifts and are more commemoration items more than functioning items. There is typically a limit to how many of these items a Mauvian can create or summon in any given time period. This item needs to be approved by staff so if you are interested in your Mauvian giving out a bonus item during upgrades or awakenings, please PM The Space Cauldron!
• Update or create new phone apps; Guardian Cats can work with Senshi or by themselves to release new apps for use on Senshi Phones. New apps or features must have plot approval to be introduced!
• Create small gadgets or electronics that have some ability or serve some purpose. Cats are naturally technologically inclined and, with plot approval, can assist in making personal items, one time use items, or just assist in plots that require technology in any aspect. All new technology that could not reasonably exist in the world must be cleared through the shop mule, The Space Cauldron!
• Create a small, customizable keychain sized transformation pen following a blueprint on the Order Mauvian Database that allows them to obtain a human civilian glamour for up to one hour a day. Pressing the button at the top of the pen will allow them to switch between Civilian and Mauvian form, and costs no energy to do so. However, they will revert to their Mauvian form after they have used the glamour for one hour. During this time they will appear as a human and will have no access to any magical abilities whatsoever; they have no energy signature and cannot sense energy signatures or awaken or upgrade senshi. They may customize their civilian attire as often as they want, however they will always appear as the same human in this glamour. They will not be identifiable as Mauvians even if they resemble their humanoid form. You may handwave your Mauvian creating this item!
• Access Subspace; Subspace is a little pocket dimension that Mauvians can utilize for storing items. This functions essentially as a miniature storage unit and is roughly the size of a backpack. Mauvians can access this immediately upon awakening and will have an innate understanding of how to reach it, put something in, and pull something out. All sorts of items can be stored here, such as first aid kits or snacks. Any perishable food will deteriorate at the same rate it would on Earth; things will continue to age while in subspace, and living creatures cannot be sent to subspace. Subspace cannot hold any weapons, and is only accessible by the Mauvian it belongs to. To summon an item from subspace, the Mauvian simply needs to focus on the item and it will be drawn into their hand. Similarly, to send something to subspace, the Mauvian needs only to imagine and focus on mentally tucking it away there.

Chaos Mauvians Can:

• Sense unawakened Senshi! This is a Guardian Cat’s primary job, though is a bit more difficult for Chaos Mauvians. Though they are corrupted, they do not have the ability to corrupt a White Moon Starseed. To awaken a Corrupted Senshi into the Negaverse, they must work in tandem with a General Sovereign of the Negaverse. They can sense the unawakened civilian but must rely on the General Sovereign to do the actual work of corruption; by forcing Chaos into their starseed, the Senshi will awaken. The Chaos Mauvian can then provide the Senshi’s name and sphere, as well as the Henshin Pen the Senshi will use to power up. Corrupted Negaverse Senshi can either use their natural Senshi name, or an assigned mineral name. Mauvians can only sense Senshi that are unawakened; if a Senshi is powered down and in civilian form, the Mauvian will not be able to tell that they have a powered form. They cannot directly awaken a Dark Mirror Senshi, as Dark Mirror Senshi must pass through Mirrorspace to awaken, but they can identify their name, sphere, and give them a Henshin Pen. Some players may choose to handwave this or say that they received these things from Mirrorspace.
• Upgrade Chaos Senshi who are ready for more power; to do this they simply upgrade the Henshin pen and focus on the Senshi’s starseed to help them unlock more strength. While Corrupted Mauvians have the ability to upgrade Corrupted Senshi, they must speak with a General Sovereign to get permission and resources to do so. They can report to any General Sovereign to submit a report on the Senshi they feel is ready to upgrade; if the General Sovereign approves, they will be given a small Chaos crystal and can use it to siphon more Chaos into the Senshi’s starseed while they upgrade their Henshin Pen. The crystals lose their charge after one use and it is impossible to acquire one without a General Sovereign. To upgrade a Dark Mirror Senshi, they will need to focus on the Senshi's starseed to unlock more potential, though the Dark Mirror Senshi will not physically upgrade until they pass through Mirrorspace. At this point in time, their pen will reflect the upgrade.
• Access Chaos Mauvian Headquarters!
• Dampen the energy signature of large groups or conceal the energy signature of up to six Chaos characters at once. They cannot conceal the energy signature of Order characters.
• Bond with a Corrupted Senshi
• Shoot a laser out of their forehead star. This expends a large amount of a Guardian Cat’s energy but is capable of stunning a target. It doesn't do damage, but it can stun a human or any average youma entirely. Very weak level youma may be temporarily dusted when hit with this beam, but this would be incredibly rare. While they are not encouraged to attack youma, some youma are incredibly volatile towards cats so this ability may be necessary to stay safe.
• Receive a Negaverse Tablet to keep in contact with other agents and access the Negaverse Database while out and about. They will receive a standard pen like other agents, and any adjustments to the tablet or other communication device must be approved before they can be ICly brought into play.
• Update or create new abilities for Negaverse Tablets; the Negaverse use tablets as a portal database to access Negaverse resources and Corrupted Mauvians are able to introduce new abilities or fix broken tablets.
• Create a small, customizable keychain sized transformation pen following a blueprint on the Chaos Mauvian Database that allows them to obtain a human civilian glamour for up to one hour a day. Pressing the button at the top of the pen will allow them to switch between Civilian and Mauvian form, and costs no energy to do so. However, they will revert to their Mauvian form after they have used the glamour for one hour. Abilities: Humanoid Form

Both Guardian Cats and Corrupted Guardian Cats can reach their humanoid form through roleplay. They cannot access this form until they have ICly reached requirements. Their humanoid form has an enormous energy signal (between the energy of a third stage and a fourth stage character) and is a beacon to everyone in the area. They can switch between their Cat form and Humanoid form as many times as they like, though constantly switching between forms will eventually begin to exhaust them. A Guardian Cat that has had more practice going between forms will have more ease than one who just gained access to their human form.

At this stage, regardless of faction alignment, the Guardian Cats gain the same abilities:

• They can assume a powered humanoid form for a temporary time period; this expends a decent amount of energy so is limited to around two hours a day while on Earth. It is not encouraged for Mauvians to attempt to impersonate a human while in this form; even if they can conceal their ears and tail, they still give off a large energy signature. While they have a maximum of two hours a day in Destiny City, they can switch between forms as often as need be, as long as they aren't in their Humanoid form for longer than two hours per day. It does not cost energy to switch between forms unless done multiple times within a short time frame. In some locations, such as the Moon (Order) or Negaspace (Chaos), a Guardian Cat’s energy would not drain while they were in their humanoid form. Because of the immense energy of their reflective factions, it would serve as a battery for them and they could remain in their Humanoid form for as long as they like.
• They can physically engage in combat to better defend themselves; they do not have any distinctive battle advantage and have strength, speed and durability akin to a normal human. Guardian Cats have human-like fingernails while in this form, but at will they can extend their nails an additional 1.5 inches. Their fingernails taper into points, mimicking the claws they have while in their cat form. These nails are incredibly durable and are capable of doing slashing damage if an enemy gets too close.
• The small, customizable keychain sized transformation pen they could create while in their cat form now allows them to maintain a human civilian glamour for up to three hours a day. Pressing the button at the top of the pen will allow them to switch between Civilian and Mauvian form, and costs no energy to do so. However, they will revert to their Mauvian form after they have used the glamour for three hours. During this time they will appear as a human and will have no access to any magical abilities whatsoever; they have no energy signature and cannot sense energy signatures or awaken or upgrade senshi. They may customize their civilian attire as often as they want, however they will always appear as the same human in this glamour. They will not be identifiable as Mauvians even if they resemble their powered humanoid form. If they did not create this keychain while they were limited to their cat form, they can create it now by following a blueprint on the Order/Chaos Mauvian Database. You may handwave your Mauvian creating this item!

Abilities: Mauvian Senshi Form

When a Guardian Cat has worked hard to uphold their duties and proven themselves over time, they have the ability to unlock a very special power upgrade known as a Mauvian Senshi. OOCly it can be earned by reaching a few requirements after unlocking the Humanoid Stage.

Mauvian Senshi physically have the same strength, speed and potential for magical power as a Super Senshi. Mauvians have human-like fingernails while in this form, but at will they can extend their nails an additional 1.5 inches. Their fingernails taper into points, mimicking the claws they have while in their cat form. These nails are incredibly durable and are capable of doing slashing damage if an enemy gets too close.

While powered up into this form, their energy signature is nearly equivalent to a Super Senshi; it can be hard to tell the two apart so they are usually in significantly less danger while they are in this form.

Mauvian Senshi are synthetic Senshi; unlike normal Senshi, they do not draw their power from their homeworld or Metallia. Instead, they must build a Henshin Pen of their own design and locate a crystal powerful enough to charge it. The only crystal strong enough to power their Henshin Pens appeared on Earth when an asteroid crashed into the outskirts of Destiny City. Small crystals can be found, either on accident or after searching, and the Guardian Cats (either Order or Chaos) can build this into their Henshin Pen to power up. Because they are not real Senshi, they do not have all the perks of real Senshi. Order Cats cannot teleport to their homeworld, form a Court, or claim a sphere, and Chaos cats cannot teleport, drain energy, form a Court, claim a sphere, pull starseeds, or gain other Negaverse abilities.

The Mauvian Senshi form is a special stage that gives Guardian Cats a way to have a little more impact on the war. Guardian Cats and Corrupted Guardian Cats can both earn this form, however unlike normal growth requirements it comes with a few specifics!

To earn this form, the Guardian Cat must have completed the following IC requirements:

• A minimum of six months must have passed after earning the Humanoid form.
• Must have completed eight RPs since earning the Humanoid form (at least two of the eight should be battles)
• Must have awakened or upgraded Senshi at least six times (two of which must have been after obtaining the humanoid form. Players can only use one solo of their Mauvian upgrading one of their own characters but the rest must be done through RP)
• Must have participated in two large events (any powered ORP, meta event, meeting, or large-scale/long-term plot can suffice!) at some point in time. Typically these events will include at least five characters.
• Must submit a plot where the Guardian Cat finds an asteroid crystal and constructs their Henshin Pen. The Henshin pen can take on a more unique form than the uniform Senshi Henshin Pens; this pen can be a small object that represents the Guardian Cat in some way. Over time, these crystals have been scattered throughout Destiny City so can reasonably be found anywhere, however a Guardian Cat can only ever find one, and must have completed the above requirements before they can do so.

When a player has unlocked this stage for their Guardian Cat, they should PM the mule with the following information:

• A physical description of the synthetic Henshin Pen then will create; this does not have to look like a standard pen and can be some other small, handheld object that best reflects the Guardian Cat in some way.
• A physical description or reference picture of the desired Mauvian Uniform. Guidelines for the Mauvian Senshi Uniform can be found here. While there is a lot of freedom in this design, a few things will remain standard; they must have a five point star on their forehead, or their approved Court symbol, Cat ears and Tail, faction appropriate colored bodice, and at least a few traditional Senshi traits (tiara, brooch, collar, chest bow, butt bow). Mauvian Senshi look very similar to ordinary Senshi, however they still have their ears and tail. All Mauvian Senshi art is free as a reward for unlocking this stage. This art will be provided by the shop for free and put on powered template lines (rather than the Humanoid Guardian Cat lines), even if your Cat was obtained through MYO. Alternatively, a player may instead request to get MYO art of the character and undergo the typical MYO procedure during the approval process. Whether on templated art or through MYO, the Mauvian design must be approved by staff during the WIP stage.
• The plot that includes the Mauvian's motivation to ICly need more power and want to build this synthetic Henshin pen; there is no blueprint available so they must discover this themselves. This plot should include them also finding the crystal to power their Henshin Pen. This plot does not need to be detailed, but does need to be outlined and roleplayed or written as a solo for the Guardian Cat to unlock the stage.
• A super stage style senshi magic attack. Mauvian Senshi cannot gain more power or rank up as a more powerful Senshi, so they are limited to only magical attacks that are the same power level as a standard Super Senshi. Because Mauvian Senshi do not gain a sphere, their magic should not be based on a specific sphere. Their magic should be fairly generic or based around a vague concept or tie into their appearance. With player approval, their magic may be similar or based off of the sphere of their bonded Senshi. Mauvian gain two Super Senshi style attacks they can cast—one offensive magic, and one defensive magic. These should be written as if either could belong to a Super Senshi.

Upon reaching this stage, Guardian Cats do not get a new name; they would receive the title of ‘Sailor’ before their usual name! For example, Luna would become ‘Sailor Luna’ or ‘Mauvian Sailor Luna’.

Guardian Cats can only hold their Senshi Form for an hour a day; this stage is not meant to replace Senshi, but to allow Guardian Cats the ability to better protect themselves and assist in emergencies.

Bonding with Senshi and Senshi Courts

Order Mauvians can bond to both an individual Senshi and a Senshi Court; typically if their bonded Senshi is in a Court, they will also bond to the Court, however there are instances where this might not always be the case. A Mauvian does not have to bond with a Senshi or a Court, these are both optional; it would be possible to be bonded to one or the other, or neither.

Chaos Mauvians can only bond to Corrupted Senshi; there is no Chaos equivalent to Senshi Courts at present, and due to the source of their chaotic magic, they cannot bond to Dark Mirror Senshi.

[Order Mauvians] Bonding with a Senshi:

Order Guardian Cats have the unique ability to ‘bond’ with a Senshi. A Guardian Cat can only be bonded to one Senshi at a time, and a Senshi can only be bonded with one Mauvian. Order Mauvians cannot bond with members of any other faction. While they can be friendly to other Order characters, the unique, magical bond only exists with one Mauvian and one Senshi. A Guardian Cat is not permanently bound to someone; if things fall apart ICly or OOCly, the bond can be severed and each character can move on to have another bond. Creating a bond is instinctive; it is not something either party will know how to do, but it will be something that happens naturally, and each party will feel a strong connection, and then a closeness and an awareness of each other that they share from that point on. A bond cannot be forced and can only happen between a Senshi and Mauvian that share a close connection.

This unique bond allows a few special perks; for example, a Guardian Cat and bonded Senshi may be able to sense each other's unique energy signatures from two miles away. They have the ability to sense when their bonded partner is in danger. Guardian Cats can also visit their bonded Senshi’s homeworld (with permission). Cats who are bonded to Senshi may travel to their bonded's planet without the Senshi's help!

Both ICly and OOCly, the Senshi must grant permission to the cat for them to go to their homeworld. With the senshi's trust and some magic from their homeworld, the Mauvian can create a unique technological trinket that will allow them to go to space!

Cats operate on the same cooldown as their Senshi (if their bonded Senshi is a Basic level they can go once every three weeks, if they are Super they can go once every two weeks, and if they are eternal they can go once every week). The exception to this are cats bonded to Senshi Royalty (these Mauvians may only go twice a week). Cats do not gain lessened cooldown for travel if their bonded Senshi has transcended. Unlike senshi, the cats cannot take guests; this item will only transport them!

This ability is not immediately unlocked by any bonded Mauvian and Senshi and must be earned through plotting. In order to unlock independent travel to their Senshi's homeworld, the Mauvian player must submit a PM to the shop mule, The Space Cauldron, using the following code!

Guardian Cat: (Please include a link to your journal!)
Bonded Senshi: (Please include senshi rank as well as a link to their journal)
Trinket: (Your cat will need to design a trinket that will allow them to teleport to their senshi's homeworld in the same way a senshi phone can teleport the Senshi. This trinket will only be usable by the cat and will take on a unique design based on the cat, the senshi, and the homeworld involved. Let us know what yours looks like! It should be something fairly small and easy to hold.)
Plot: (There are no specific requirements for plot, however your plot must include the cat getting IC permission from the bonded Senshi, visiting the senshi homeworld and acquiring something from there to build the trinket with (usually some small, magical artifact), and building the trinket.)
Confirmation of Approval: (Please post here to acknowledge that you have confirmation from the senshi player ! You must have confirmation from the Bonded Senshi player that your cat can visit the homeworld freely! If this approval is ever revoked (ICly or OOCly), your cat cannot visit it alone! Additionally, if the bond is ever broken (through death, corruption, or other means), the cat will immediately lose the ability to teleport. The trinket will remain, but it will lose all magical abilities until such a time as the bond is reestablished.)

While Mauvians may obtain some past life memories through this method, they can only remember memories that occurred while on their bonded senshi’s homeworld, and cannot remember any meta information.

If a Mauvian’s Bonded Senshi corrupts, the bond is immediately broken unless the Mauvian corrupts, too. If only one the Mauvian or the Bonded Senshi corrupts, they may each still feel an emptiness, or a tugging sensation, but they must both be on the same side to have any Bonded perks. If the Senshi or Mauvian bonds to someone else, the tugging sensation will disappear.

[Order Mauvians] Bonding with a Court:

Mauvians may bond with a Senshi and a Court. In this instance, the Mauvian is usually bonded to a Senshi within the Court. A Mauvian does not have to be bonded to any Senshi to belong to a Court. A Mauvian that has bonded with a Court may have the star on their forehead replaced with the Court symbol. With permission from players, a Guardian Cat who has bonded with a Court may, through concentration, sense where any member of the Court is. While a Guardian Cat can only be bonded to one Court, a large Court may have more than one Guardian Cat affiliated with it.

Guardian Cats who have bonded to a Court may build a trinket that allows them to travel to the Court’s Headquarters, however the Mauvian player must submit a PM to the shop mule, The Space Cauldron, using the following code!

Guardian Cat: (Please include a link to your journal!)
Bonded Court: (Please include a Court Name and a link to a plot thread if applicable; if no plot thread is available, a list of current characters and players can be substituted!)
Trinket: (Your cat will need to design a trinket that will allow them to teleport to the Court’s Headquarters on the Moon. This trinket will only be usable by the cat and will take on a unique design based on the cat and the Court. Let us know what yours looks like!)
Plot: (There are no specific requirements for plot, however your plot must include the Guardian Cat interacting with members of the Court, visiting the Headquarters with Court Members (at least once), acquiring something from the Headquarters to build the trinket with (usually some small, magical artifact), and building the trinket.

Mauvians may travel to the Court’s Headquarters once a week but cannot bring guests. If the Court is teleporting to Headquarters, the Mauvian may teleport up with them without requiring any additional energy.

A Mauvian can break its bond with a Court, however this should have strong IC and OOC reason and needs to be approved through the shop mule.

[Chaos Mauvians] Bonding with a Senshi & Senshi Teams:

Corrupted Mauvians can share a bond with Corrupted Senshi only, however they are currently a bit more limited than their Order Counterparts. They cannot travel to their bonded Senshi’s homeworlds, as they are blocked by Chaos. Corrupted Mauvians cannot bond with Dark Mirror Senshi. Creating a bond is instinctive; it is not something either party will know how to do, but it will be something that happens naturally, and each party will feel a strong connection, and then a closeness and an awareness of each other that they share from that point on. A bond cannot be forced and can only happen between a Corrupted Senshi and Mauvian that share a close connection.

Chaos does not have Courts, however Corrupted Senshi may form teams. A Corrupted Mauvian may bond with the team and the star on their forehead can be replaced with the Team symbol. With permission from players, the Corrupted Mauvian may also, through concentration, be able to sense the location of Team members.

If a Corrupted Mauvian’s Bonded Senshi purifies, the bond is immediately broken unless the Mauvian purifies, too. If only one the Mauvian or the Bonded Senshi purify, they may each still feel an emptiness, or a tugging sensation, but they must both be on the same side to have any Bonded perks. If the Senshi or Mauvian bonds to someone else, the tugging sensation will disappear.

Headquarters

Both Order and Chaos Mauvians have headquarters designed to help them fully utilize their capabilities. These Headquarters are not linked and there is no way for an Order Cat to access Chaos Headquarters, or a Chaos Cat to access Order Headquarters!

Order Mauvian Headquarters

Beneath Destiny Tower there is a secret panel that can only be activated by the star (or Court Symbol) on a cat's forehead. It opens a hidden door in the base of the tower that leads down a stairwell into a large, shielded room. Only Order Mauvians may enter; they are not permitted to bring any guest, regardless of bond or alignment. An immense energy dampening system is in place here, so Mauvians can assume human form without any risk of someone tracing their energy signature.

Order Mauvian Headquarters is well hidden and the location should not be known to any Chaos Mauvian. If a Chaos Mauvian attempted to use their star to open the hatch, they would be rejected. The Chaos in them has distorted their star power and they will not be recognized as having access.

The main room of the Order Mauvian Headquarters is large enough to have a few couches and tables. It is not decorated with anything other than screens, wires, and blinking lights. Several large computers line the walls; they seem to be both ancient and futuristic. The consoles take up whole walls and are all connected.

These consoles may be used to:

• Enter and access data on the Senshi Phone network. The Senshi Phone network is the system all Senshi Phones use.
• Update or create new apps for the Senshi Phone.
• Track senshi patrol activity via remote connection to their phones (provided the Senshi has the tracking feature turned on).
• Send mass messages to senshi phones.
• Access the local news and the internet, though they do not have the ability to hack into these)

From the main room, there is a single, previously hidden hallway that leads to an underground complex filled with cat sized doors. The main hallway is long enough for a human to comfortably walk-through, and at the end of the main hallway is a human-sized door that leads to a second control center and a crystal that helps keep everything running. The hallway is lined with doors Mauvians can claim for themselves.

When a door is unclaimed, it is blank. Once a door is claimed, the Mauvian's name or symbol will appear on it and only they can open it. The rooms are six feet wide, six feet deep, and six feet high, and each have an outlet and a light that can be altered to fit the cat's needs. These rooms can be decorated as they see fit. Mauvians can only claim one room for themselves.

To claim a room, a Mauvian only needs to press their forehead against the panel on the door. The system will automatically log their address and a star in the color of their star, or other forehead symbol, will appear on the door. The door will open for them any time they press their forehead to the panel again. Mauvians can also make a small trinket that can be used to open the door instead.

It is impossible to break into someone else’s room, and while Order Mauvians can visit each other within these rooms, no other guests are permitted to enter. The magical barrier on the Headquarters allows only Order Mauvians to enter, even within the private quarters.

Chaos Mauvian Headquarters

Within the Castle in Negaspace there is an area accessible only by Mauvians (and General Sovereigns). A large metallic door with a black star in the middle is sealed using powerful technology; two security consoles are attached to the wall next to the door—one approximately four feet up and one a little lower than a foot from the ground. These double as a scanner and card swiper; to enter, they need to either swipe their card or allow the scanner to scan their star. General Sovereigns will use a card to enter, as they have no symbol on their forehead to scan. A Mauvian will also be given a card when they are brought into the Negaverse. To activate the cards, they need to touch their forehead star to the card. The card will scan the star and give them a unique identifier. To enter their Headquarters, they can either swipe their card or use the scanner to scan their star to gain access.

While Mauvians may bring a guest with them, the guest must be in the Negaverse and can be evicted at any time at the cat’s will. A security system is in place to prevent anyone from entering without a General Sovereign or a Corrupted Mauvian. Any guest that is evicted will be immediately teleported outside the door; an agent cannot teleport in or out of the room even if they are welcome. These Headquarters are air conditioned and everything inside is powered by crystals.

Inside the Headquarters, Chaos Mauvians will have access to:

• Several large computers, not unlike those in the computer lab. These, however, also have access to the Internet in addition to the Negaverse database. Their security features make them impossible to hack
• Wifi
• Workbenches and tools to work on their projects
• Pillows, chairs, and tables that can be moved or adjusted to fit any Mauvians needs
• A teleporter; this teleporter is a silver circle with crystals embedded in it. An identical teleporter is located in the Teacher’s Lounge at Romano’s and Mauvians can travel back and forth from Negaspace and Destiny City without needing to catch a ride with an agent. Only Mauvians can use these teleporters and they cannot bring a guest.

Mauvian Inventions

Both Order and Chaos Mauvians can create inventions to aid themselves and their allies. Some inventions, such as things that could reasonably exist already and be tinkered with (like cell phones, computers, or household appliances) do not need staff approval. Mauvians can create their own technologically improved versions of things and don’t generally require permission unless it is magical or weaponized. For example, making a hair dryer have better heat settings or a timer wouldn’t require permission, but making a hairdryer shoot fire would need permission. Inventions that can be used while powered or in battle do need shop approval before they come into play. These can be sent to The Space Cauldron.

Mauvians may also choose to share the blueprints of their inventions on their Databases; only Order Mauvians can access the blueprints on the Order Database, and only Chaos Mauvians can access the blueprints on the Chaos Database. Any Mauvian can create an item with a blueprint on the Database; some inventions may be too powerful to release for everyone to create freely but players are encouraged to PM if they have any ideas or requests! If your Mauvian has created an approved invention and you would like to share the blueprint so other Mauvians can create it, or if they have an approved invention they have created to benefit others or plot with, please PM the mule so we can add it here!

Order Mauvians can also create Apps for Senshi phones, and proposals can be sent to The Space Cauldron to be developed and added to that list as well.

Order Inventions

Quote:
Order Kitty Communication Device - A voice activated ear clip that has a built in projector and functions nearly the same as a Senshi Phone. It lacks some options, such as visiting their homeworld, but can tap into the Mauvian Order Database to access the same files as a Senshi can. Mauvians cannot edit the database through the Communication Device, but it allows for a hands off way to keep in contact and access their information even while they’re out and about. These devices will immediately shut off and be inaccessible in the hands of any Chaos character.

Created by Ash and Snowball; blueprint available. For PSDs to design your own, please see this thread.

Quote:
Mauvian Assessment Panel (M.A.P.) - A high-tech server and computer interface amalgam housed in Sailor Athalia's basement. It is a super computer designed to collect real-time information relating to all known Chaos Signatures, including Negaverse Agents, Corrupted and Ascended Senshi, Corrupted Mauvians, and Dark Mirror Senshi. This computer is capable of transmitting all received data into a small holodeck to project a 3D image of Destiny City with a real-time threat assessment overlay. The holodeck utilizes data feeds from hand crafted transponders that can be distributed or placed throughout the city. The computer can be used to locate a large number of Chaos signatures in a small area as well as plot suspected activity areas. While it is impossible to map all instances of Chaos in the city at once, this program can be incredibly useful in identifying high traffic areas or areas of interest for Chaos gatherings.

Created by Orias; no blueprint available. For plotting, please see this thread.

Quote:
Mauvian Assessment Panel (M.A.P.) Transponders - These transponders come in two forms; the first are small mini computers that can be placed in discreet locations throughout the city to monitor locations. They are vulnerable to the elements and can be easily destroyed, requiring them to be replaced after a time. The second type of transponder is a portable keychain distributable to Order characters; this transponder can be used while powered up or in civilian form. Both transponders use a system, called Sniffer, to pick up known Chaos signatures within a one block radius and feed the information back to Orias' supercomputer M.A.P. system. These transponders cannot identify the specific Chaos character in the vicinity, but it can register their Faction and Rank. Anyone in possession of a transponder can access a miniature holographic blueprint of the city and identify potentially active areas on that map. In instances where major Chaos activity is being registered, the keychain transponders will alert the wearer of the location. These transponders cannot access the Mauvian Database at all; they also cannot directly access Orias' supercomputer beyond seeing the map of the city and where Chaos signatures have last triggered a transponder. The transponders are not unbreakable and may malfunction; this can cause blackouts in the radar. Transponders are automatically designed to reboot when they malfunction, however this can take some time and Chaos signatures may be missed during the process.

Created by Orias; blueprints for both types of transponders are available on the Mauvian Database. Anyone is permitted to create additional transponders to place around the city to help expand the map and replace broken or damaged transponders. Likewise, anyone can create a keychain to carry or share with other Order characters.

Quote:
The Helipack - A simple strap-on backpack that, when activated, extends a rotary blade assembly above the user's head. This generates enough lift for low altitude flight. Ear protection is highly recommended, as is reading the non-existent user's guide. Suitable only for Mauvians and like-sized pilots.

Created by Orias; blueprint available. Before using these in any events, please contact the event host for permission; the Helipack generally functions well but can be sensitive to certain radio waves or magical interference and may not be allowed in large events.

Quote:
Senshi Glass, a.k.a. "The Scouter" - An communicator alternative for those who don't wish to use their standard issue devices. The base unit is housed in an over-ear cup while a sturdy mono-lens display can be extended out over one eye for visual data. The unit forms a hermetic seal over an ear, and is crafted with only the comfiest rubber sleeve and padding. The lens is of durable clear crystal, and can be fabricated in various colors! The display can be retracted into the ear cup when not in use for unobstructed vision, and a keypad can also be found on the cup. The Senshi Glass is not recommended for texting without plenty of practice. Before use, the Senshi Glass must be synced to the original communicator device via the included cable, and the replaced device will enter a non-responsive mode so as not to be a liability if it's stolen while not in use. Functionality can be restored by reconnecting the Senshi Glass and reversing the sync process, facilitated by a user password chosen during the initial switch. Each unit comes pre-installed with the novel +9K app, which for Order senshi allows it to run a modified Sniffer code to link with Orias' M.A.P. database at the touch of a button. In addition to working in sync with Orias' programs, the Scouter can also access all preloaded apps and functions on the user's Senshi Phone. If anyone other than the user tries to use the Scouter it will immediately disconnect from both linked systems, ensuring that Chaos cannot access Orias' system or the Mauvian Database.

Created by Orias; blueprint available.

FAQ

• What are Auras/Energy Signatures? How do they work?

All magically powered characters give off energy signatures/auras that can be sensed by other powered characters. Powered characters can sense these energy signatures on a sort of magical mental radar, where they can tell how many powered characters are nearby. It is possible to read someone’s rank and faction through their energy signature. For the most part, it is difficult to identify who an energy signature belongs to unless you have a very strong bond with the person, at which point you will be able to identify their specific aura. However, this takes time to develop and does not happen easily. A first stage character gives off a smaller energy signature than a third stage character and will be more difficult to locate on a radar; the stronger you get, the more powerful your aura. An inexperienced character may feel an energy signature like a haze in the distance that grows stronger as they approach, but an experienced character may be able to pinpoint directly where a signature is and head in that direction. While there is no specific range a character can sense an aura from (because this can improve as a character gains familiarity and experience with energy signatures, and can improve naturally the longer they’ve been powered), it would be reasonable to expect that an inexperienced first stage character might be able to sense up to five blocks away, a second stage character up to seven, and a third stage character up to ten. Mauvians are a special type of character with a unique energy signature; they can sense energy signatures as if they were a third stage character regardless of what form they are in, and if they have a bonded senshi they can sense each other from up to two miles away. They can sense other energy signatures as well as a third stage character, but while in their cat form they give off almost no energy signature unless someone is standing right next to them. Their natural humanoid form gives off an enormous signature and reads like a third or fourth stage character. Mauvian Senshi auras feel almost identical to a Super Senshi, and in their civilian disguise they have no energy signature. Mauvians have the unique ability to suppress energy signatures as well, and information about this can be found elsewhere in this thread!

The more energy signatures there are in an area, the harder it is to accurately read them; energy signatures of the same faction (or of Chaos and Order in general) may blend together, making it difficult to tell how many people and of what specific rank they are. Some character types have unique traits or features regarding their aura, but more detail can be found in their individual information threads. For example, Mauvians and Ascended Senshi have unique traits regarding their energy signatures, Vanguardians do not have an energy signature, and some civilians can sense energy signatures through enhancements or other magical boosts.

• Can a Mauvian in its cat form suppress the energy signature of a Mauvian in Humanoid form?

Having a Mauvian in its Cat form around would suppress the energy signature of a Mauvian in its Humanoid form by about 50% but they would not be able to fully conceal the energy signature. Two cats in their feline form could suppress a Mauvian in human form but three cats in any form together may make them a very appealing target.

• Is it considered ethically taboo for a Guardian Cat to develop romantic feelings for a human and pursue a relationship?

It isn't necessarily considered taboo for a Mauvian to develop feelings for a human, though certain individuals may find this taboo depending on the nature of the relationship. They are both intelligent creatures and, while aliens, could theoretically be emotionally compatible. It would be difficult to maintain a physical relationship because the Mauvians are naturally in a state akin to a cat and can only rarely take on human form, however emotional attachments would be acceptable. Some players have expressed discomfort with relationships of this nature so a small warning or disclaimer at the beginning of roleplays that feature this may be appreciated by these players.

• What are the differences in awakening a Senshi between ages 21-27 compared to other Senshi?

The Senshi should be in danger for their starseed to be sensed by a Mauvian; their starseed has the potential to have the same power as any other Senshi, however because it has been repressed for so long it is more difficult to feel it. Mauvians should understand that it is dangerous to awaken any starseed that fluctuates in the way that these starseeds to, so awakening one needs to be necessitated by some risk. The actual awakening feels no different and takes no more energy unless a player desires; these starseeds function erratically so there is wiggle room depending on plot and desire of players.

• Can a Mauvian do a double side swap? What consequences would multiple sideswaps have?

Sideswaps for Mauvians are possible but are incredibly taxing on the cat and may be more difficult to gain approval for than ordinary side swap plots. Any Chaos Mauvian that wishes to purify is technically undergoing a double sideswap (as all Mauvians start out as Order and must be corrupted into the Negaverse). Double side swaps (or more) are possible, but IC consequences would be relatively severe given the life-changing circumstance. After the first side swap, all side swaps will result in a temporary lock down of cat abilities while the starseed recuperates. This means the cat may be unable to awaken, upgrade or even sense senshi until their starseed was in a more healed state. They would not be able to access their humanoid stage at this point in time or reach senshi stage, however that would not be permanent. If those stages have not been acquired, RP can still count towards earning the requirements. Because the Mauvian Senshi stage is not unlocked in the same way as ordinary Senshi (in that, most senshi get an upgrade when their starseed is capable of wielding more power), they are not automatically banned from earning it. Guardian cats instead unlocked their Mauvian Senshi stage by creating a henshin pen that mimics the abilities of ordinary senshi; they are required to build an instrument that would allow them to change and then must go on a quest for a power source to fuel it (these can be found with permission when you submit your plot for your senshi to earn the stage!).

• Why do Mauvians have such limited past life memories?

OOCly, Mauvians are extremely limited to what past life memories they can obtain because of how gamebreaking their memories could be. In their past life, they would have had access to meta information that has not been released, and they would have access to an understanding of magical and technological aspects that could affect gameplay too extremely.

• In Past Lives, were Guardian Cats responsible for awakening Senshi on their homeworlds? What was their purpose during the Silver Millennium?

In the past, Mauvians may have awakened a Senshi, but due to the closeness of the Senshi and their homeworld (the source of their planet), Senshi may have awakened through rituals or through other natural means. Mauvians, in the past, typically helped Senshi by guiding them. They created technology to improve worlds and communication between them and were curious creatures. Many Mauvians had goals unique to themselves, but ultimately their purpose was to aid the Senshi to protect the universe and study and improve technology to better the universe.

• Can there be more than one Mauvian in a Court? Can a Mauvian Senshi count as a founding member of a Senshi Court? Could Mauvian Senshi form their own Court?

It is possible to have more than one Mauvian involved in a Court, but there would need to be more than four Senshi, and Mauvians should never outnumber Senshi. Mauvian Senshi do not count as regular Senshi because their Senshi stag is manufactured and does not come from a homeworld like other Senshi. Mauvian Senshi do not naturally have that stage and are only able to activate it by creating a device that gives them additional power.

• Are Order Guardian Cats allowed to have their own cell phone or communication device?

While Mauvians do not naturally awaken with one of these devices, they can create one. Snowball and Ash worked together to create a communication design specifically fitted for Mauvians; the blueprint can be found in the database at Mauvian Headquarters so everyone has access to it. These communicators are designed to be earpieces that each Mauvian can design and customize to fit their needs or themes. These earpieces work in a similar fashion to Senshi Cellphones but are a little more limited in function. They can only be used by cats and are voice activated and can be used to make voice calls to Senshi Phones, text Senshi Phones. They utilize a sort of holographic technology and can project images or video chats. A PSD so Order Mauvian players can create an image of an earpiece can be found here! If this design does not appeal to a cat, a player is free to submit a plot to create a different item!

• Do Chaos Mauvians have their own cell phone or communication device?

Chaos Mauvians do not have a unique item to communicate with, however they do have access to the Negaverse Tablets! These devices are used by all members of the Negaverse and have the same general functions, however Mauvians should be trained in how to repair them and can be involved in submitting new functions for them. Tablets owned by Mauvians may have altered designs to allow them better function with their paws, however there is not currently a device geared towards their specific use.

• Can a Senshi’s Henshin Pen be broken? Can it be fixed?

A henshin pen can be broken; when it is damaged significantly, a senshi cannot power up. A Mauvian must repair the Henshin Pen. A pen should not be completely destroyed; there must be enough core components left for the Mauvian to work with. They can replace pieces as needed, but because of the strong magic in the pen, they cannot make a new one from scratch. Players should PM The Space Cauldron with their intention to destroy the pen, as well as a small plot about how it will be broken, for how long it will be broken, and who will fix it! Only Order Mauvians can fix Order Senshi Pens, and only Corrupted Mauvians can fix Dark Mirror and Corruptd Senshi Pens.

• Why do Chaos cats need permission to upgrade Corrupted Senshi? Why do they need a crystal?

When a Senshi corrupts, they lose all ties to their homeworld. When an Order Mauvian unlocks more power for an Order Senshi, they are essentially opening up their starseed to accept more power from their homeworld and grant them access to new abilities. Because Corrupted Senshi have no access to their homeworld, they get their powers from Metallia. Guardian Cats do not have the ability to push Chaos into starseeds, as only a General Sovereign or higher can siphon energy from Metallia into a character for an upgrade. General Sovereigns can push the necessary chaotic energy into a small crystal that a Corrupted Guardian Cat can then tap into, allowing them to perform an upgrade without a General Sovereign present. Because the Negaverse functions in an hierarchical manner and previously, General Sovereigns are the only ones who could upgrade an existing powered character, ICly the Guardian Cats would need to report to them for approval to upgrade a character. This meeting and the acquisition of the crystal can be handwaved if the players desire, but ICly all Mauvians would need to speak with a General Sovereign and have the upgrade approved to receive a crystal.

• How does a Corrupted Mauvian awaken or upgrade a Dark Mirror Senshi?

While much of the process is done in Mirrorspace, Dark Mirror Senshi need Chaos Mauvians to upgrade their pen for them and unlock the next stage of power for the Mirror to charge them up. While some Dark Mirror Senshi Players may choose to receive their name and Henshin Pen while they awaken in Mirrorspace, they may also choose to have a Corrupted Mauvian. Corrupted Mauvians cannot awaken a Dark Mirror Senshi on their own; another Dark Mirror Senshi must be involved to either take them to the Black Mirror in Mirrorspace or a Royal Dark Mirror Senshi may summon a mirror to awaken then elsewhere.

If a Dark Mirror Senshi does not acquire their Pen while awakening, a Corrupted Mauvian will be able to produce one for them to allow them to power up again. Corrupted Mauvians can also identify potential Senshi Candidates on sight, so may coordinate with Dark Mirror Senshi to select who they should attempt to awaken rather than rely on the Dark Mirror Court playing a guessing game.

Dark Mirror Senshi cannot upgrade each other; they rely on a Guardian Cat to upgrade their pen. The Guardian Cat will sense when the Dark Mirror Senshi is ready to receive more power and will upgrade their pen. The upgrade will not immediately appear and the Dark Mirror Senshi must then Mirrorwalk somewhere to receive the upgrade! Because they have a false starseed and Mirrorspace houses their real starseed, the upgrade is only complete once the Dark Mirror Senshi passes through Mirrorspace. This can be as simple as them Mirrorwalking into and out of the same Mirror; once they step in and then out of the Mirror again, they will have access to their new power.

• Are Mauvians Eligible for Fourth Stage?

No; Mauvians do not traditionally have three stages and grow like normal characters. Their Senshi stage is a synthetic stage that allows them access to the abilities of a Super Senshi, but there is no way for them to obtain a fourth stage power level, even through synthetic means.

• Can Mauvians get civilian art?

Yes; Mauvians can get art of their civilian glamours. While in this form they will have no visible Mauvian traits and will have no access to any magic; they will appear completely human. When getting Mauvian civilian art, the glamour should always resemble their humanoid form’s body type, but a Mauvian may choose to disguise themselves with a different appearance. Mauvians, like Vanguardians, can only program one general appearance for themselves; they may choose a different hair color, hair style, or eye color than their natural Humanoid Form! Getting art of a Mauvian in their civilian glamour will count as alternate civilian art.
