Personality:
Psykgi is a very happy lowblood. She greets everybody with a personable smile on her face and a skip to her step, and each night is, to her, a new opportunity to succeed. Enthusiastic about her life and about the world around her, Psykgi doesn't do anything halfway. With her lusus's constant pressure and support, Psykgi intents to transcend the role that her blood tells her she must play, and make something of herself. She is not a rebel, however. She sees nothing wrong with the system itself, and wants to succeed within it, not without it.
Psykgi's fascination is with the Trollian mind. She wants to know what makes a troll a troll. Motivations, hopes, dreams, phobias, traumas, ideals... she wants to know the what, the why, and the how. And so, she finds out. She peeks at things in their hive. She asks them nosy questions... all in an attempt to draw out what makes every individual troll so individual. She loves information, other trolls, and their secrets, and every troll she meets – be they a new friend or an old study – with an eager and voyeuristic delight. She stops just short of outright stalking – her lusus does not approve and she is, very much so, a 'lusii girl'
Initially, her interest was just in the structure and vagaries of the mind. However, with the advent of the propaganda filled 'mental health facility' in Civisect city, she has begun to drink Dr. Remsem's dyed fruit drink. Although many of his publications are far over her little horns, she has still collected what she can and reads them with an almost religious fervency despite her lack of understanding. To her, she clearly has all the answers, and Psykgi rejects the view that this is merely propaganda. When she grows up, she would do anything to work with him in his facility.
Anything.
Psykgi might be a 'sweet' and sociable troll, but she is perfectly willing to stomp on others to get her way, a behavior encouraged by her ambitious lusus. She may be a lowblood, but she can play politics like a highblood, for high stakes. While not specifically manipulative, she is not above such things and her book knowledge – and observations - of troll psychology give her an edge.
Ambition aside, she mostly just likes messing with people and lusii, just to see what they will do. Obviously this is risky, and she knows it. To her there's no point in worrying if her antics will get her culled. She enjoys it, and she's gotten away with it thus far. Why should she stop?
Strengths:
Intellectual
Psykgi is a smart little cookie of a troll – Booksmart, anyway, maybe not so streetsmart. She doesn't believe that she's the smartest troll on the planet – nor does she want to be - but she knows she's pretty far up there, and she likes the company of other smart trolls, or at least trolls that can hold a stimulating intellectual discussions with her. Meaning, at this age, a number of things. She likes to talk, learn, and think about various things, such as philosophy, the mind, and even politics. She reads a lot and is encouraged by Ma'am to talk to others about her interests and to connect with them as well: No point in hiding her brightness.
Cheerful
Psykgi is a perky troll, completely unconcerned with her world or her lot in life. She likes to be happy, and she wants to be happy, and nothing – color or status – will get in the way of that. Optimistic or, at least, happy in the face of depressing, violent, or terrifying circumstances, Psykgi would like to think her happy nature is infectious, or at least reassuring. Mostly, it just comes off as shallow or creepy.
Friendly
Despite her creepy and disgusting Lusus, Psykgi has been taught that connections are everything. Naturally chipper and extroverted, Psykgi refuses to live in terrified isolation. She is out of her hive often, hemoanonymously if she has to be (though she is not ashamed of her low coloration), mingling and chatting up anybody who will give her the time of day. She's a networker, simple as that, and finds that it comes fairly naturally to her.
Go-getting
Psykgi is energetic and motivated, traits her Lusus/Lusii has carefully nurtured. She is not the sort of troll to sit still, preferring action to inaction and the resulting boredom. She will do things, set up committees, organize actions, and generally be persistently and annoyingly active. She just has to be doing something. Usually, though annoying, her actions are firmly in the establishment and not cullworthy.
Flaws:
Treacherous
Psykgi is not loyal or trustworthy, no matter how sweet she seems. She is always looking out for herself and if that means selling out someone else... sure! She looks out for herself, first and foremost, something that her lusus has drilled into her head from day one, and everybody else can just wait.
Nosy
Psykgi is insatiably curious about her fellow troll. She wants to know what makes them tick, what makes them happy, what makes them who they are – essentially everything about them. She will ask questions she probably shouldn't, and snoop into things she shouldn't, and this is likely to get her on some serious shitlists.
Dangerously Carefree
Psykgi while perfectly aware that she is a redblood, apparently does not worry about being culled ever. Her lusus told her to take risks, and she does so to the extreme, seeking the thrill of messing with a fellow troll, sending in letters to people she probably shouldn't send letters to, or talking to certifiably crazy purplebloods who she really oughtn't talk to. Ma'am is trying to temper this into something less stupid and dangerous, but such tempering takes time and Psykgi is incredibly obnoxiously reckless.
Playful
To Psykgi, life is a big game, a game you don't need to win to enjoy. Not precisely manipulative, as she doesn't always have a set goal, Psykgi likes to mess with people... just to see what they will do next.
Psykgi used to live in Old Hemisect City, and she had been there all her life, living in the redblood 'areas' (slums) until her lusus was confident enough in her young charge and the beetles they amassed to allow her out of the hive to purchase and find something better. And so they did - a decent enough apartment hive in a communal hivestem, affordable and far better than what they had had before.
For the most part, this was where she grew up. Ma'am kept it stocked with books and applications to the premiere schools, plotting and planning her young trolls success far in advance. Psykgi was rarely allowed outside until Ma'am was satisfied with her book-trained weapon ability, and watched at all times by her lusus. Finally, though, Ma'am was satisfied with her young troll's progress enough to let her out, and Psykgi's facination with her fellow troll soon came into play, sprouting quickly into a passion that began to drive her down the path of Troll Freud and other famed troll psychologists and manipulators. Ma'am approved, and the books the swarm brought back gradually drifted into information more dedicated to the mind than other subjects.
Allowed out of her hive, Psykgi soon learned how her lusus amassed so many beetles. 'Treasure hunts' were not uncommon troll-lusus activities for the two to do, and Psykgi amassed a veritable infestation of the valuable beetles.
When the OHC 'renovation' came along, Psykgi's hive - like so many other hives - was destroyed. Normally, as a redblood, she would not have been able to get a voucher, but she tapped into this store of beetles and into her fledgeling mentalist skills, picked up from her books on the mind, to brobe her way into a decent voucher.
Ma'am and her quickly made it a home, settling in. It was not long after they had done so that Psykgi heard of Dr. Remsem and her fascinating ideas about the trollian mind and it's mutability and understandability. That was when she decided what she wanted to be when she grew up, and who she wanted to work for one night.
Ma'am appreciated the value of this goal, and, path set, began to push her troll along it...
Psykgi's Lusus is not just one cockroach but many, with candy-striped red and white bodies and red, gleaming eyes. It is impossible to tell how many individuals comprise her lusus at any given time, but they all act as one superorganism. Though the individual bugs vary in their gender, they – as a collective – appreciate the respect that comes with the name they have taken, “Ma'am”, and so respond collectively to the feminine pronoun.
Ma'am's intelligence depends on how many of her there are at a given time, but at all times she is both highly protective of her charge and very ambitious.
Despite their shared blood color, Ma'am intends to see her trolls dreams of far far more come true. As such, Ma'am is less focused on the present as she is on the future, and highly concerned with her trolls education. She often employs nagging and other 'reminders' to make sure Psykgi does well, through study and training and reading and internships. This is a lusus that is devoted not to just having their troll survive, but thrive in a world set against them, and she can be fiercely political, often speaking with other troll's lusii where she can and otherwise advising her troll on the best course of action.
Fortunately for Ma'am, aside from a few misunderstandings and behavioral problems, Psykgi is not a rebellious wiggler, and is aligned with her lusus' goals for her. Ma'am is sure that those behavioral problems will be ironed out with age and maturity, and is resolved to guide her with iron mandibles. And, especially since Ma'am can always be nearby, she can offer her advice at any time, at any where, and keep Psykgi's attitude from getting in the way of success or her continued living.
Basically, Ma'am is an ambitous helicopter mom. If she was a dragonfly swarm, she would be even worse.
However, she is an undetermined number of cockroaches. Through an individual Alternian cockroach is relatively low-damage, and is only about the size of an average trollian hand, a swarm of them – hundreds or thousands of clicking, buzzing bodies – can be at the very least terrifying, and this swarm works with a ruthless intelligence, organization, and strategic mind, and the deadly motivation of a parent. Ma'am can kill, and will if she has to, whether with the multitudes of her little claws, or by strategically blinding a troll and sending them off a building, or whatever the hivemind can think of.
As a swarm insect lusus, Ma'am has some degree of communication with the Alternian currency of beetles, and uses this throughly to her charge's advantage. And nobody elses. Though she is a selfless lusus (lusii?) Ma'am cares about one thing and one thing only – her girl. All other trolls, quandranted or not, with an offer or not, will have to take care of themselves, an idea that she has instilled into her charge quite effectively.
Psykgi always has one of Ma'am's cockroaches with her at all times, and one never knows how many more lurk in the shadows, ready to spring to her aid. Or in the walls. Or in the floor. Ma'am is relentless in her attack. Being virtually immortal – since you can't really kill all the cockroaches or their young, and thus the hivemind continues on – Ma'am is not afraid to throw away the lives of individual roaches for the common good of her troll. In fact, she dies often – sometimes accidentally, sometimes not so much – and so Psykgi is used to her lusus dying and is not traumatized at all if someone smashes a bug. No hard feelings: There is always another to take its place, and Psykgi knows she is never alone.
Note:
Ma'am is capable of eating anything, but prefers rotten vegetation – especially fruit.
Due to the nature of the swarm, some members of her collective will be gathering for the colony, others will be breeding and raising young, and still others will be lurking in the surroundings as scouts... and so on. However, more like a bee than an ant, individual members of her collective are capable of any job at any time.
Psykgi's weapon is a handaxe, for no reason other than its a handy weapon to have.
Hive:
Civisect City
Psykgi's home is a modest hive in a not-particularly-fancy part of Civisect city. Its kind of a hole in the wall, not much from the outside but very comfy on the inside, simply furnished with blankets and many, many bookshelves. It is a one-room hive, with her respiteblock, culinary block, and lounging block all the same decent-sized room.
Though a Redblood, she managed to secure a voucher for a hive in her former hometown of Old Hemisect City through sheer bribery. In the chaos of the OHC reconstruction, many stashes of beetles were left behind or lost, and with her lusus's help she managed to locate and amass quite a few of them. In fact, even after the monstrous bribe her lusus helped her with, she is well-off for a redblood, with plenty secured away for a rainy night.
In all, her hive is a livable and modest place. Ma'am advised her not to try for someplace lavish: in part because they were pressing their luck as it was and in part because her lusus was going to infest it anyway.
Ma'am lives in the floors, the walls, the ceiling, the drapes... everywhere... and inevitably makes some degree of a mess. The simplicity makes it easy enough to clean, and thus, Ma'am approves.
Stuff:
Civisect Science Dome Jumpsuit Though this is a somewhat bittersweet reminder of the event, Psykgi thinks it is still a stylish choice, and keeps it around to remind her of how stylish it was. Of course, she wouldn't actually wear it around. Of course not.
Military Standard Medical Kit (Adept Artifact Support A) Acquired in the swamp, this medkit will prove useful in keeping Leeroi and others in the fight!
Roach Brooch (Adept Artifact Defense B) A stylish brooch in the shape of one of the roaches that make up her lusus. It is a fasionable piece of jewelery... it also emits a sound frequency that directs her lusus to come to her aid and take some hits for her. It is very handy.
Painkiller drugs (Novice Trinket Support A) A handy collection of drugs, there to keep a troll going even when their body is telling them NO PLEASE NO. Very handy in dangerous situations!
Blur Module (Novice Artifact Agility A)
Zap Grenades (Adept Trinket Offense B) Really, a few disposable robots Leeroi built for her. They are limited use but deliver a NASTY zap. She only has so many uses of these little guys, but damn are they useful.
Red Beamtube Prototype v2 (Adept Trinket Offense A) Its a snazzy beamtube that... burns? For some reason? Is it a laser? Psykgi thought it was nice and brought it home, and that's really it.

O Initially met at the Chittentown Edification Institute while I was snooping around. He seemed interesting and we began exploring together. Very fun. Was attacked by a purpleblood – was quite abrasive to and was badly beaten up by said purpleblood. No surprises, but was interesting to watch. Helped him out a little, hope to see him again – after all, need to investigate such a big personality further.
O Been spending time at his house – has a passion for videogames. Prefers violent roles over less violent roles. Ma'am disapproves – I enjoy it. Investigating video games for analytic potential. Also, enjoyment potential. VERY fun. I appear to fall into a complementary role – so called support roles. Interesting. Very interesting.
O On closer inspection, our relationship is, overall that of complementary roles. I enjoy his company, he enjoys mine. I also have a definite calming effect on him. Goodness, could he be my Moirail? I think so. That seems right. It seems very right.
O Bloodfest 2015 – Leeroi did not do well in the capture the flag. I think I erred in not stopping Ma'am from allowing a tussle with a random oncomer – ah well, he enjoyed the snacks. In the future, will find opportunities for him to have a good, energetic fight when he needs it. That won't kill him - that would be unfortunate. He also is very upset because apparently the random gerbils I picked for my bowling pins did not succumb to his gerbil's might. He insists that I must have somehow given them 'brain training'. I did nothing of the kind – perhaps this is indicative of an inner paranoia hidden by belligerence and loud talking? Must investigate further.
O Leeroi does not like my hive. Says it is boring. That is fine with me, though it reveals a definite need for constant action and energy of some nature. Nothing I didn't know before, but interesting to see none the less.
O Leeroi displayed typical aggression towards Azrael during the battle. He wasn't looking for a fight... at least, I hope he wasn't, since he had many other things to attack that would have been (and were) far more interesting than Azrael. Not that Azrael isn't interesting, but not as interesting as fiercely fighting rebels. I am noting this down to support my theory that, for Leeroi, a punch to the face is a very basic version of hello. I'm just glad he doesn't punch me in the face! Goodness, that would hurt a good deal!
In other news, he can handle his drugs well. I have no idea what I gave him, but the effects were very handy.
O We lost the Rebels in the swamp, unfortunately, and Leeroi's rage is not to be trifled with. Fortunately, I was able to get him away before he was murdered, but... It was alarmingly close to a bloodbath. It was awfully chilling. Its one thing to have him be aggressive and fight, its a whole other story to have him dead, and I'm not for it.
Interestingly, he rose to my defense. Proof that there is much beyond the rage and anger. Of course, I knew that, but I'm always glad to see it.
O We had a moment together in the swamp. Of course, I knew there was something pale between us all along... well, most of the way along, but I think he's starting to see it too. It's... nice. It's very nice. I'll remember what I said forever, I think... "You're always a winner to me." or... something like that. It's true.
O A spaceship crash landed in Four Fronds, bringing out some interesting troll personality traits. Leeroi did something surprising - he held Eridia while I hurt her. An interesting reversal of roles, and evidence of a possible spurt of character growth? I will have to keep an eye on this...
O A murder in a mansion, a party full of wigglers... Such a shame I wasn't able to participate much, but Leeroi sure had a lot of fun. Apparently Mapuye Puchen is his hero...? Well good for him that she was so awesome at the end... and... I'm glad he was with me. I don't know what I would have done without him.
O Gerbils! He's been working so hard on them and gosh, it was great to see them in action... especially Brainz! Shame he lost, but hey. Such is life!
O Corporal, like me! We got to go on our first space mission together, and it was a blast... rough, but a blast. There is nothing quite like fighting by his side... It's almost... blissful. No, it's exactly blissful. Its exactly that. I hope for many more victories at his side.
O I can't say the Flagship was hell. There are definitely worse things on and off this world. But it was... bad. It was bad at the first psionic daywalking monstrousity, and it continued being bad to the end. At least he's got a black flushed quadrant now - it'll be good for him. And we're all alive. And we - the whole group - kept our important bits, so that's good. It's good.
O The Flagship has joined my daymares - as expected of a trauma. This note is going in my notebook while it's still fresh... a fresh resolution. Leeroi... I never want to see him cry again. I never want him to cry for me again. I don't want him to hurt. I want him to feel victory, and love, and flushed hate. I want to support him, wherever he goes, whenever he goes, as long as it takes. He always says he protects me, but I know I have to protect him too. I'll do a better job of that next time.

O An interesting, very toothy seadweller I met at the Rehabilitation Center. I thought it was very good that she was there - seadwellers are not immune from maladies of the mind, and if they are made better members of Alternian society, why, that just improves the whole so much, doesn't it? And so often they leave their maladic thoughts untreated, don't they? Anyway, I accompanied her for a time and encouraged her, but she stormed away after drawing some interesting pictures... I will be analyzing these pictures most thoroughly. I hope to see her again!
O Natash was at the tower - I think that was her lusus with her. The creature in her pictures, If I remember! Gosh, I wonder if I've seen her around the Rehab center? I think I might have. Anyway, her lusus was giving her a hard time, and she was having a hard time, and I helped her out. I wonder how that made her feel...?
O Natash came by the stall very often! My, a lot of things have been happening in her life, apparently! Friends of her own caste, to name one, but clearly more than that. She seems a lot happier than when I saw her last (admittedly, that was under less... good... circumstances.)
We exchanged addresses - I could actually visit her, which would be really interesting I think! Ma approves. I can't wait to do friend-like things with her. And figure out her mind. Which, I wonder, should take priority?
O As an addendum, trenches. Trenches and ravines may have significance for her. I wish I could see one...
O Typical purpleblood - thinks shes in control, is violent when she thinks she is, and yet is bested by anybody with a working thinkpan. She should be fun to follow up on/annoy.
O I met this purpleblood at the get together, and later at the battle. Confirmed that I have an interesting and irritating effect on her. Also, she is very clumsy. Requires further investigation... which should be just so fun!
O Violent and vicious. She nearly killed Leeroi, to the extent where I had to step in. Of course, he nearly killed her, so she had cause, but frankly I find that I don't care about her. In fact, I enjoyed her being assaulted. Hmm.
She does not work well in groups, and also apparently can't fight very effectively despite her ferocity. Fortunately, Azrael works well with her, making her at least potentially managable as an experimental subject. Though... I'm not sure if I want to talk to her for a while. I'm not sure if I can be... objective.
O Hitting her was very theraputic... though... she really does ruin everything, doesn't she. It seems, though, that there is a limit to how much can be absolutely ruined in one series of nights. Interesting. Bears further investigation. I won't complain if that investigation involves beating her up at some point, of course.
O Eridia was annoying as per usual at the party, but in the end... hmm... she seemed... distraught? And I... concerned? fascinating...
O An apology note? For herself? What fascinating depravities could spawn such an idea? I may have played a little game with her, and she appeared to be a good sport about it, so perhaps... games in the future? Research? Observation? Apparently, she has the potential to be very interesting...
O She stopped by my stall a few times... I wonder which questions on my advice wall are actually hers? I suppose it doesn't matter, but still... I wonder if I should be worried...?
O We had a blazing date on the docks and I'm very glad I didn't misread her otherwise I would not be writing these notes. She attacked with such ferocity, such furor... I thought she wanted to kill me. Well, there you go. She's very passionate.
O Her stall... was obnoxious. I wonder where she found all those pictures of me anyway? If she likes them so much, she should have asked. I'm sure I could provide plenty more...
O From what I saw, she actually did very well in the tower. Easily distracted, though, by camera crew and cheap reporters... Not a good trait. I'm not happy about how many times I ended up humiliated in front of her and others, but ah well. It happened, we move on. And beat the s**t out of the other. Either way, it was interesting to view her in this context, and to view the dynamic between her and the others. Fascinating.
O THAT b***h. IS UNHINGED. How dare she laugh at a burning tower?! How dare she laugh at the destroyed hope, dreams, and effort of so many trolls working as one for the good of the empire?! How dare she bring Gerard into this?! What is her thing with Gerard?! It used to be fun, but now... why? Why? Why indeed? She and I are through. O Fascinating purpleblood in Chittentown, accompanied by a redblood as she beat up Leeroi. Interesting to watch, didn't get an oppurtunity to talk to her or read her pamphlets. Oh well, maybe later, who knows?
O What luck! Spotted her at Bloodfest 2015 at her own Juggalo booth – explains the face paint. I made conversation, participated in her mask stall, and took a few pamphlets to read at my booth. Alas, nothing in depth as I had to keep up with my booth and all, but now that I know where she lives, there's always a later!
O I think she got shot at the mansion! Oh dear. Well, she'll probably be all right!
O I'm not surprised that she's a lieutenant. I'm not surprised we couldn't salvage the ship. I am surprised at how fun it was and how Leeroi and I somehow didn't end up having to fight her. I see this as a positive change, but I don't know if I can adequately psychoanalyze this juggalo...
O Note: Busthinders are interesting people. Azrael Mortis is a very pleasant blueblood who was kind enough to loan me a map of Busthind and escort me to the transport station. I hope to see him again - he hints at an interesting mind, and very intelligent conversation, where that is relevant...
O Is he Eridia's Moirail? Is he trying to be? I think they're a match. I do feel a little sorry, just a little, for him getting punched in the face, but if we spend time together, he's just going to have to get used to it because Leeroi is going to be along for many of those times. Then again, he might become more than used to it. I might just get to see something evolve. Fascinating! I can't wait for the next stage of this adventure!
O I wasn't expecting such ferocity from Azrael. Beyond the calm, composed demeanor, is there true violence? I wonder if the wrath – and the restraint he showed when I stepped into the brawl – has anything to do with the locked doors and rooms of his hive?
O I didn't speak to him much at the mansion, but he seemed to be enjoying the detecting festivities...? I'll have to speak to him about it later!

O He ran the Flarp booth at Bloodfest, but he was interesting – some trolls seemed really into it, some didn't, and he seemed to be both at once. Not an actor, but a creative? Possibly preoccupied with heavy labor? Not enough data to tell, as he only came once... ah well.

O He came to my stall but I don't think he knew what it was about... He wasn't very into FLARPing either... Hmm. He's probably interesting deep down.
O That... was some party. Note: never trust an invitation from the Empress. It is more than it appears. Always bring extra, extra medkits and possibly a weapon.
