Maihue is exploring Campus Grounds

Maihue hadn't been to the Campus before, and decided it was about time to get out of the forest and explore other areas. She made sure her lusus was comfortable and left her hive.

As she arrived on campus, she looked around at all the new scenery. This was definitely different (and louder) than the forest was. She weaved in and out of the way of others until she found a less cluttered area. With a sigh of relief, she slowed to a leisurely pace once again taking in the scenery around her.

As she was looking around, she stepped on something soft. Maihue backed up and looked down to see a hacky sack. She picked it up and tossed it a bit. She had never played with a hacky sack before. Maihue looked around cautiously to see if there were anyone around that would actually pay attention to her. Somewhat satisfied with her observation, she tossed the hacky sack up to give herself enough time to get it with her foot. She got one bounce in and became amused, this was actually fun. When she kicked it back up, she kicked it a little too high, and the hacky sack ended up dropping to the ground as she swung her foot to hit it again. Embarrassed, she picked the hacky sack up. Maihue mumbled to herself, " I should probably put this in the lost and found..."

[Voscil is exploring Campus Grounds and meeting up with Reemus.]

Voscil had paid a visit to her fellow yellowbloods hive as promised a few days following the parade. Staying in a rental hotel while not her favorite thing had been worth hearing he had a cool place to show her. The concept of getting to see more of town and wander around hadn't occurred to her. She agreed simply because he'd offered, and raced down to the location now that the center was up and running again. Waiting for him meant she'd done a lot of running around and wandering across town, so she had an idea where the place was.

While waiting for him, she happened upon a yellowblood selling lemonade. Sure it was a little weird, but being in a desert like Chittentown motivated her enough to agree to take a glass, paying off the beetles for two cups. After her's vanished down her protein chute she held a cup for Reemus as well.

She thanked the vendor, before stretching lazily. Peering around for sign of Reemus, she tilted her head some giving a wave of her hand when she thought she recognized the long haired troll. "Yo!" she called, at least mindful to not slosh the liquid all over and use her now free hand. "There you are! Check it out, I found a lemonade stall while I was waitin'~" She smiled at him, practically grinning from ear to ear toothily. Her giddy response was more to do with the fact she was just glad for a chance to make good on their promise to hang out regardless of the location. Holding the cup out, she waited to see if he'd take it. Otherwise it was just more for her and a total win, win in her books.

[Reemus is exploring the campus grounds with Voscil]

Reemus was dead to the world up until Voscil came around. He could sleep forevvvvver after the whole drought ordeal. He needed the rest, and his body needed to heal up. Of course, he'd have to get up once in a while to change the bandages on his feet. It wasn't any good to let the sopor slime get into his open wounds.
Once Vos appeared at his door, he realized that he didn't have a game plan. He needed to impress this other troll, and his little hive wouldn't cut it. She was too speedy for that. So, thinking a little, Reemus considered what was the biggest, shiniest, impressive thing in the area? Simple, the one place that would never send him any offers to attend ever.
Good old CEOHS.

Well, okay, he DID get some mail from them- just a notice that they were open again. He wasn't sure why he got it, but maybe they just sent them to everyone in case it might draw some new attention. If that was the case, it went right as planned. Reemus was keen on leading the other yellowblood down to the campus. This was exciting! But even though he made note of Vos's powered personality earlier, he didn't when actually meandering down. He intended to lead, but she had zoomed away before he could even start a casual conversation!
Meanwhile he was held back with Woofmum and her healing leg. Oh well. He was sure she'd catch up to her at some point...or she'd lap back to him. It was a pleasant surprise to find her not too far along on the campus grounds. If it had been him, he probably wouldn't have been able to help himself and gotten lost checking things out. "'Ey, mate!" His non-existent ears perked up at the lemonade she offered. "Aw, thanks!" He took it and drank it all down in basically one swig. Jeez, it was nice to drink something cool without having to ration it. "You didn't check out TOO many things without me, did ya, Vos?" he teased. In the meantime, he checked out a campus directory. "Hmmm..." Yup, it was official. He had no idea what any of these buildings were for. Except the absolute obvious, the library. But who would want to be held back by being quiet and dainty like that?

As he was figuring out what to do next, campus security passed by and gave him a second look. The garbage bag n' bandaged feet didn't help him blend in too well. Oops. "Uhhh this way!" He pointed and started leading in a random direction. It wouldn't be good to get tossed out JUST as they got in the door!

Voscil looked fairly pleased with herself. The fact Reemus taken the offered drink, and was so quick to down it made her square her shoulders proudly. The garbage bag, foot bandaged kid had been pretty groggy when she'd come knocking it was the least she could do. Even if Voscil had a tendency to wander, and race ahead of others this had been his idea after all. "Of course!" she retorted with a giggle, nodding her head vigorously. "Ha! Nah man. I waited for you, even if it would have been fun to poke around! I promise!" She replied reaching out to pat his shoulder briefly. His tease made her puff her cheeks up at him playfully.

MamaJu noted the still injured howlbeast lusus, and her limp. The roarbeast still had bandages around her body, legs and neck all of which were still in the early stages of healing. The fact neither lusii was dead, and able to mind their charge was good enough for her. Sniffing in the beast's general direction, she didn't pay the boy's guardian much mind as she believed neither yellowblooded being posed her kit any danger. Instead she licked at her paw cleaning her face before standing up and bumping her head into Vos's hip affectionately.

All in all, Voscil was oblivious to the fact Reemus wanted to bring her to some place fancy, or flashy. Giving her mom a gentle pat on the head she looked between the pair now that they were both here. She'd just done what came natural in racing ahead and excitement to check it out. However, it was true. Vos had actually waited for him without getting into to much stuff. Why? Simply because exploring while awesome, was even better with friends.

When they encountered the security guard it gave her pause, blinking at them suspiciously. She had no idea they weren't technically 'supposed' to be here. They didn't seem to keen on them being here, but it was no matter they had places to be! Voscil fell in line behind the puppy-boy, trailing after him at an easy pace. "Lead the way!" She replied moments after him.

As they wandered, she spied a row of vending machines. Her stomach rumbled at her, and luckily they'd already scored some drinks with outrageous prices like that it was annoying anyway. "Ooo! Hang on be back in a flash!" she tapped at his arm, pointing before making a bolt for the machines, sticking in a few beetles to grab them both some protein nuggets before immediately going back to him. She offered him a package, already ripping into hers and munching on a few bites.

Psykgi, though very aware she was a lowblood and thus should be going to this place when she was older, had other plans. As did her Lusus. Ma'am would help her get into Civisect's establishment. That was her city, and she would make it proud.

For now, though, she was too young. And so, they were on a visit to see the rivals.

So this was the competition.

It was certainly a decent place, with history behind it, and she could appreciate that. History was what formed the mind, after all. Birth, life, death. So said her books. Ma'am chittered on her shoulder, and Psykgi looked in the direction the cockroach indicated.

”Hmm?” she squinted at the sign. ”Huskhubs? Really?” she smiled at her Lusus, ”You know I'm not interested in computers.”

Ma'am fluttered. Her troll should reconsider! There were many opportunities for programmers, so she had heard.

”I know what I want.” she said, giving her lusus a kiss before replacing her on her shoulder, ”But I'll check it out later, all right?”

Ma'am was satisfied.

Spotting a blueblood that seemed to be getting a lot of attention from the guards, she walked over confidently. ”Goodness!” she greeted, ”You certainly are the center of attention!” he had very interesting... holes... in his horns. Fascinating. Did they grow like that? How did he feel about them? First things first, though. ”Hi!” she greeted, ”Are you a student here?” unlikely – he wasn't much older than she, but it was an icebreaker.

Leeroi couldn't help but laugh. Finally a troll brave enough to speak instead of just stare at him from afar. He turned to Psykgi and smiled proudly, brushing his bangs back in an attempt to look cool (and to get a better look at her). "I can't help it. These trolls just know greatness when they see it," He said, analyzing her. She was... curious looking, to say the least. Especially with that roach on her shoulder. Was that her lusus? It must have been one tough roach if that was the case.

Still, she seemed kinda cool. Her hair was pretty awesome, kind of like how he was awesome. They could be awesome together. "Nah, I'm just sneaking around," He responded, "You too?" He smiled and held out his fist for a knuckle-touch. "The name's Leeroi. Leeroi Furore." He introduced himself and grabbed her arm, tugging at it. "Now let's stop standing around! I want to find some secrets..."

He started to wander towards one of the buildings, looking in through the windows and noticing a lab of huskhubs. "Sweet..." He muttered. He knew where he wanted to go next.

Hmmm! Psykgi began analyzing the troll in earnest, her eyes eager as she began mentally taking notes. Typical highblood superiority complex, at first glance. she thought, But, judging from his grooming at my approach, he has some hidden insecurities maybe he isn't even aware of! Which was the best kind in Psy's opinion. That was one of the mysteries of the mind, that whole attributes could be completely unconcious to a troll. It was super cool.

She gamely touched knuckles. ”Oh, about the same.” she said, offhand. She wouldn't say she was sneaking, more... well... spying. That wasn't the point. ”I'm Psy... Psykgi Menthu.” she introduced herself, her eyes widening in surprise as he grabbed her arm.

”Oh, I'm all for finding secrets.” she said, allowing herself to be directed. And why not? She was looking for secrets too, and one way or another she would find them, in this troll or in this edifice of higher schoolfeeding.

Such immediacy. she thought, Is he looking for secrets, or for himself? She would find out. She hadn't given the building much thought before, but now she looked in with more interest. When she looked in, she saw huskhubs, including one facing the window with some sort of essay on it, one she could barely read beyond that it dealt with psionics and space travel. Essentially, she saw fundementally boring items she had never really taken to.

What was more important, though, was what did he see? What did he find interesting about this building? Did he like hubs? Time to find out!

”Do you want to go inside, Leeroi?” she said, Ma'am's scurrying form...s... unlocking the door so she could open it for him – a window into his mind. She raised her eyebrows, questioningly.

"Hell yes!" Leeroi exclaimed, running in through the door that Psykgi had oh so kindly held open for him. Glitch, who had been watching him from afar, suddenly stopped licking at the sidewalk and chased after her charge, bleating. She stopped before Psykgi, studying her with her numerous eyes. She blinked at Ma'am and gave the pair a friendly, thankful bleat before following Leeroi inside.

Leeroi rushed in, fingers tingling with excitement. Immediately he rushed over to the huskhubs, shoving aside a smaller troll to get to his desired desk. He hopped in the seat and laughed to himself, checking the contents of the huskhub.

And he found exactly what he was looking for. Pinball! He loved this game, in its wonderfully simple mechanics and its ridiculous sound effects. He didn't want to dwell on it too long, though. There were cooler things to find, and Leeroi could feel it. But maybe he'd stay long enough to beat the high score.

"Watch and learn, Psykgi," He said, cracking his knuckles. He'd show these students how a real pro played pinball.

Psykgi had to wonder what complexes that would give the blueblood. Many trollian mental abnormalities could be traced back either to caste or lusus, so with a lusus as strange as his... Well. Leeroi was basically a treasure trove to Psykgi. New people generally were.

Of course, she never bothered to analyze herself and whatever strangeness she might have due to her own lus...ii. Why should she? Her mind was fine. It was better than fine.

She peered at the screen and its sound effects curiously. Pinball? Clearly, this was key to understanding her new acquaintance. So she would watch and learn, particularly since she had never actually played it. She sat in a nearby seat, not particularly caring if she displaced anybody and inexpertly fiddled with her computer, just to see.

Typing games? Who would use those? Ma'am was teaching her elegant typing skills through trial, error, reward, and punishment because it was a marketable skill. She turned away from the husk screen to focus on Leeroi's game, to Ma'am's displeasure. ”So tell me about this game.” she said, slighty hypnotized by the movement on the screen – it was constant movement, a shining ball bouncing, the paddles flicking, the bumpers flashing... All on a computer screen. It was, she realized, a lot to keep track of, and he was certainly keeping track of it.

Was it because of his multi-limbed Lusus? Or perhaps something about where he lived? Oh, how she wished for a dossier, like what Dr. Mesmer must surely have. She would just have to make her own. ”I would hazard a guess and say you've played this before.”

Nonetheless, the game asked for his name. He spelled out "LEE" and submitted it, and was pleased to find that he made the top score.

Only, he was the only score on the scoreboard. Wow, he thought, these students didn't know a good game when they see it. He looked over at Psykgi's screen and started to laugh. "Dude, that game is for wigglers," he joked. Psykgi clearly wasn't well versed when it came to computer games. But Leeroi could fix that.

The way he described the pinball game sounded deceptively simple, and yet the way he was playing it looked complicated. Psykgi watched with no small interest as the slight distraction she had inadvertently created somehow caused him to lose. Definitely not so simple, then.

Psykgi took another look at the game on her screen. ”Really?” she exclaimed. Well, she had typing training and if it was for wrigglers, maybe she could play it. She booted up the start screen and was greeted by a strange apparently 'educated' worm lusus, from the look of its graduation cap. It was slightly absurd.

The game was anything but, brutally testing her typing skills, and to her great chagrin, Psykgi did not do well. Honestly embarrassed with herself, and quietly chided by the lusus on her shoulder, she looked at Leeroi.

”Er.” she said, a little meekly, ”Would you show me how its done?”

Leeroi narrowed his eyes and tilted his head in confusion. Was she really struggling with a typing game designed for wrigglers? He couldn't help but laugh. "Show you how it's done?" He repeated, almost mockingly. Still, he couldn't back down from a challenge, as silly and meek as it was. He booted up the game on his own huskhub, making quick work of the simple game. Pinball had tested his coordination, but this game was a cakewalk.

Finishing one of the more difficult levels, he stretched his arms and turned back to Psykgi. "See? It's easy," He said, smiling toothily. He cracked his back and looked around the room, eyes peeled for anything interesting. Noticing a strange piece of technology out of the corner of his eye, he climbed out of his seat and bounded over to it. Once he turned it on he realized that it was merely a projector, and frowned in disappointment. But he couldn't help but make shadow creatures with his hands, amusing himself by making a little hopbeast walk across the screen.

”Wow!” she said, a little more impressed than she actually was. He was very good at the game, after all. She wondered what other games were out there, what else she had yet to properly see played. She was sure that she would improve if she played. If Ma'am would let her... maybe she could push for one? Just one? Surely her lusus wouldn't mind.

Psykgi was not usually awed by anything sort of an over-her-head psychology lecture, but as he managed to breeze through what had given her so much trouble, she was, indeed, awed. A little embarrassed, sure, but mostly intrigued. She turned in her chair, watching as he went over to the projector. She chuckled appropriately at the shadow beasts, but she had a better idea. She wandered over and fiddled with the wires.

”Goodness!” she commented, ”Now you can show everyone how its done.” she commented, amused, ”It would be so much easier to watch on there.”

Tamiya is "exploring" with Sinter!

Tamiya hated the Edification Center. Science, math, logic... The very thought of it opposed her faith. Each explanation drew a fallacious and false peace of mind that corrupted the magical, mysterious miracles from the wonders of life. Intellectuals, or so called, had challenged her, and they'd all failed or fallen. Tamiya did not need to see to believe. She didn't need to understand to believe. Believing was enough.

However, to get others to believe, one must make certain compromises. Today, that compromise was proselytization through flyers, and the chunky copiers at the school were incredibly efficient for spreading the posters she planned to distribute. Since the flooding there was a loss in faith in Chittentown - of order, of the government. However, the acquisition of rebels from the research facility was the handy chance she needed to prove the power of her cause, prayer, and organized chaos. And being Sinter's home, what better opportunity could there be?

She entered the campus growns with a grimace on her face and the flyer she aimed to make copies of in hand. At least her redblooded moirail was there to accompany her. She looked around at all of the school's possible paths. "I have never been here before. Sinter, are you familiar with these..... thinkpan-rotting grounds?" She said, scrutinizing the "grounds" with an emphasis on her consonants. "Let's go over there. The Comestible Mess. Yes."

Where everyone could see her. Goooood.

"Hey, that's an awesome idea!" Leeroi shouted. Now the others wouldn't have to crane their necks watching him play. The trolls here were easily distracted from their work, but Leeroi couldn't blame them. Secretly, he wished he thought of the idea, but nonetheless Psykgi was proving to be a very useful sidekick. And if anyone asked, he'd just say it was his idea. "I'm gonna play pinball, though. It's more fun, plus I think everyone else is good enough at typing," He said, booting up the game. He was determined to beat his last high score.
