TEAM VICTORY MONITOR

Civisect Science Dome
Trolls may use this thread as an orp throughout the meta, till Sept 15th. RP posts that do not include game mechanics do not cost any actions.

Civisect’s illustrious Science Dome was very recently built, and it shows. The research facility spans multiple tall, lustrous buildings in Civisect. The “Dome” itself is showcased on top of the central building of the bunch, and is a feat of modern Alternian technology. Its surface is a reflective material that turns translucent in the nighttime and opaque during the harsh Alternian days. It is a glorious sight to behold, its foggy glass revealing the inner workings of the projects within. Multiple sky bridges branch out to the other parts of the facility, and a huge central elevator that takes up the core of the entire Dome’s building allows shuttle-sized cargo to be transported to the space ladder which is located immediately down the road on the edge of the ocean. The ladder construction has already begun, a constant flow of vehicles pouring from the immense dome to the rapidly growing landmark of Civisect glittering near the ocean. Tourists from all over Alternia are quick to take pictures in front of the buildings, and prominent businesses in the city are proud to report that Civisect’s Tourism and Housing divisions are booming this sweep.

The interior of the facility is sleek and clean, with nearly every interaction automated in some way. Keycard access brings trolls to a nervous system of light rails and elevators that seamlessly conducts traffic throughout the many buildings. The housing facilities are located on the outskirts of the main building, and boast balconies for each small individual room. Onsite provisions are provided by catering companies around Civisect that proudly boast deals for Space Race volunteers supporting their hometown. Amongst the temporary lodging facilities exist a couple of community pools and exercise rooms, as well as an eatery.

A quick keycard to the light rail will take you to either the research laboratory buildings, the communications center or one of many industrial sectors of the Dome. Chrome transportation units carry heavy supplies back and forth in the main construction area, but the employment of drones is still highly common. They work tirelessly among the volunteers in making the space ladder efforts a budding success. The buildings are practically cylindrical, with offices and laboratories surrounding and overseeing work areas down below. Offices higher up tend to be those of supervisors and top researchers, and if one looks closely one can see the sharp gaze of Dr. Vostok Verier supervising the forces down below.

What will you do today?
There is no activity in the central hub today, save trolls still chasing down various rogue elements of the hub and trying to maintain peace. No shipments of material are arriving from the facilities, and no machines are working at the space elevators. Whenever anyone who seems to be in charge is asked, they shrug. It seems that someone higher-up has ordered a halt to all activities, and everyone is left to wait for further instructions.

Main game mechanics are now all halted - this includes finding P! markers. RP is still open in all threads. Rebels may continue to send stolen resources/hack files. Mini-boss fights will continue until noon EST of the 25th, or until all bosses are defeated, whichever comes first. There are now no extra actions that can be used to fight bosses.

Central Hub Milestones
If a milestone is the same as a Manufacturing Facility milestone, it relates to activities carried out in both places,
cannot be claimed twice, and has just been repeated there for ease of access.

User ImageThe street around Civisect's Science Dome has been closed of to casual pedestrians in anticipation of the first day of the Great Space Race. Volunteers are let in, one at a time. As you pass through the entrance, you are handed a slick plastic pouch that contains a jumpsuit, keycard, and combination information pamphlet with important dates/map of the facility. Along with this you get a pair of socks, with CIVISECT #1 stitched cheerfully on them in clashing colours. You're directed down the empty street and into the main building, where signs lead you to a huge auditorium, swarming with volunteers. While there's more bustle in here than out in the main building, it does seem decently controlled and there are seats left, allowing you to nab one without having to fight for it.

As you look through your swag bag, the lights of the auditorium dim, and a spotlight clicks on, focusing on the stage. A figure can be seen walking across it to the podium in the center.

Dr. Vostok Verier takes his place at the podium and adjusts the microphone. He’s dressed as sharp as can be for the occasion, tinted visor gleaming under the spotlight. “Hello, everyone – volunteers, staff, thank you for joining us,” he begins. He’s cool but a bit brusque, attempting the best he can to look like he wants to be speaking in front of hundreds of random trolls. “My name is Dr. Vostok Verier, and I hope to acquaint myself with all of you during the construction of Alternia’s first space ladder in recent history.”

He cleared his throat. “Maybe you’re here because you saw our handbill and felt a connection to the opportunity to explore the sciences. Perhaps it’s more likely that you’re here for free food and board.” Verier stops briefly and scans the audience. He breathes out, his nostrils flare. “This is no free ride you’re receiving. Take a moment with me. Realize the weight of your actions. What has brought you here, really? Do you realize that just outside of your lifetime, Alternia was at the forefront of spaceflight? Science, progress, and feats of engineering have been all but lost until now. It’s the dawn of an incredible re-awakening, and it’s not going to be a cakewalk. You are standing at the threshold of lasting history, undettered by Imperial shifts and honored by every generation of Alternians from past to future. Everyone has a place in the history we get to build. Consider your part in it. Make a difference. You’re already here, and so you’ve already put your foot in the door. Join us, no bullshit, just the promise of a better future for all of us. Even if you don’t know what brought you here, know that you matter. Strive to be your best.”

Vostok wisps a hair out of his eyes and adjusts his sleeves. His voice shifts to an instructional tone. “Volunteers proceeding will note that they will not be assigned to a schedule of tasks per evening. This flexibility should be utilized appropriately to maximize your efficiency, so please consider your strengths while working with us during this time. We have a number of opportunities for trolls of all strong-suits, so please consult a workforce coordinator if you ever find yourself looking for work to do. Use your keycard data to report in on your activities – the rest of the information can be found easily on any of the monitors under the “assistance” section as well as located on your personal dormitory hub. Once again, thank you all for coming and showing your support! Enjoy the rest of your orientation. Thank you.”

Vulpin's eyes glazed over the jumpsuit assigned to them, plainly manicured nails clicking over the metallic zippers and space-age fabrics. They laughed, though the sound coming out as more of a scoff. It was fairly gaudy, though they were sure it was better than whatever Chittentown might have doled out to their workers. Vulpin could tailor this, make it more suitable for their wear. Or perhaps, maybe it was better to leave plain, so to not arouse attention and suspicion.

If they weren't pleased by the jumpsuit, Vulpin's attention certainly was captured by the doctor giving the speech, Dr. Verier. Now there was someone who knew how to rock a look. As the doctor spoke, Vulpin's smile grew, the cold indifference of their leader only intriguing them more. That’s right. Here they were just a worker, nothing special. In this large of a crowd, they could move around fairly undetected, like a drone just doing their work. Perhaps they could even learn more than a few insider secrets that would help them further down the line.

Vulpin’s disguise was simple, but clean. They pulled their hair back into a tiny ponytail, adjusting their tinted visor carefully over their eyes. Their symbol displayed as hemoanonymous, but was easily covered by the standard Civisect jumpsuit. And with plenty of mint-accented accessories, they were given little trouble from the surrounding personnel. Knowing where they were useful, Vulpin delved into the Covert Ops activities, quickly accessing into Chittentown’s private data like it was nothing. “Goodness, they make it too easy,” They commented, addressing the trolls in the area. Hopefully Chittentown would put up more of a fight or else this would get boring fast.

Space was a vast and foreign place, but Gnash knew as a seadweller, one day she'd be expected to go there, in some leadership position. She enrolled in the Civisect space race, as the one closest to her home. Maybe she could learn how to be a good leader, like her lusus always demanded. Maybe she would have something good happen, for once. She wore the jumpsuit proudly, sleeves torn off to expose her pink metallic arms. It was too much trouble trying to maneuver her arms through the tight noodly parts of the suit.

She wandered a bit aimlessly through the facility, watching the other workers, when suddenly a hose burst, spraying water everywhere. "Ah!" she exclaimed, throwing her hands up. Gnash needed to fix it! She quickly grabbed the hose, taming it and getting the hose shut off before it caused any serious damage.

Eostre hated Chittentown, and thought that if she never saw the lowblood desert town again, she could die happy. But as it was, she was in competition with the town, as a Civisect Space Race volunteer. And of course, she immediately volunteered to do some covert ops missions to steal from them.

It was sort of backfiring now, as she had to travel there to get the information. She walked through the town listening to the gossip of locals and other volunteers, learning a few choice bits of information. As well, she had found some samples she could bring back, hidden in her pockets. It was good practice, at least, for when she would be doing this officially, for the Queen herself. Something as simple and inconsequential as a building project. She returned triumphant with her few pieces of information, passing it along to a drone.

Vulpin tapped their pen against the table, in deep observation about the trolls around the area. Taking detailed notes on their behaviors, patterns, and shoe styles, they were able to create a detailed analysis on strengths, weaknesses, and trolls that were generally worth avoiding. It would be fun to find a more perceptive troll to clash thoughts with, but considering their personal mission it was best to be avoided.

"Wow, did you write all that?"

Vulpin's eyes narrowed, snapping up to the troll who had crept up behind them. "I-" Vulpin started to stammer, but was cut short by the other troll.

"This is so useful, its so precise! I'm sure we can all learn a thing or two from this," The other troll turned to one of their friends, shouting. "Bethes! Come look at this!"

Vulpin hid their face, waiting for a chance to break away. Perhaps they would have a better, more peaceful break at the facilities further away.

Scooting into the seat that was closest to the edge of the room, Aconan gripped Loupsus's ruff excitedly to settle him. Loupsus was a little wary about his little troll (so little. so cute. so well behaved.) (well maybe not the last one..) being around so many other trolls, especially the bigger ones. But there were, he observed, other lusus-kid pairs, and Aconan was staying close to him. He snuffled at his charge worriedly, who shushed him excitedly as an adult troll (in a fancy visor!) took the stage.

Aconan came away star-struck. Aw man, this was gonna contribute to the empire, to the expansion of Alternia....to...to...everything! Enamored by all these victorious thoughts, Aconan scurried to check where her dorm was, then went to find it so she could dump the few belongings she'd brought with her in it. We'll leave the slight horror Aconan had at the accommodations aside for now. I mean, it wasn't as if they were bad. Just....not the kind of place she was used to.

At least it had a balcony, she supposed.

But we digress. Stripping out of her usual outfit, Aconan put on the jumpsuit. (After pinning her tail to it. There was no WAY she was leaving that off.) Feeling like a smart, essential, efficient cog of the empire, Aconan swiped at the screen in the dorms, looking for what jobs she could be doing. Huh, there was sections. Scrolling through the fancy digital system (and feeling a little intimidated by it, if she were to be honest), Aconan found a transporting job for small parts. There, that sounded perfect!

After picking up the parts, Aconan scurried across scaffolding to deliver them, only to find when she stepped across the final part, that there was an ominous creak. And shortly afterwards, an ominous crack as the scaffolding collapsed beneath her. Thankfully, Aconan's small stature worked in her favour as she darted across the collapsing scaffolding, her weight neglibible enough it didn't cause further damage. Panting from exertion and the adrenalin created by thinking she was going to fall, Aconan dumped the parts (carefully) into the mechanic's arms.

"Here you go!"

".....How am I going to get back though. That scaffolding's pretty uh, broke."

"Oh, thanks! Teaching me to fix it'd be awesome!"

Psykgi was so ******** stoked to be doing this, it was impossible to contain just how stoked she was. There was no need to touch up her smile – it, completely naturally, never left her face. This was a chance she hadn't realized she'd been waiting for her whole life – a chance to really set her home city apart from all the others. Sure, it was sometimes not too friendly towards her, but it didn't have to be – it was her home, and she loved it so, so much.

And it was going to win.

”Hello, hello!” she said cheerily to some very important trolls. She was at her most charming at a gala, dressed up gorgeously with minimal buzzing and fluttering from her very proud lusus. ”Now, as I'm sure you know, Civisect is THE city of innovation! And that's going to be technology too, just you see... why, you can see it right now!” She gestured to the growing space ladder. Yes. Look at what her city had wrought. Didn't they want to be a part of that?

Maybe they would remember her later. Maybe they wouldn't. Either way, she buttered them up good.

Testing the resistance pool and other important space training mechanisms back at the research facility falls to you.

Austri hadn't even considered Chittentown. The place had too low standards for her liking, and honestly, Austri needed the best! And Civisect definitely was with all this high-tech stuff. Sure, Austri enjoyed the simpler things in life, but she wasn't about to pick the crappier place instead of the definitely on their game Civisect elevator!! So she decided to help them no matter what. After all, space was her dream, and as an eager helper she'd definitely be one of the first on that elevator!!

She definitely popped on that jumpsuit, but removed the sleeves and tied them around her hips easily. She wore a white tank-top, something simple but effective-- And she had to say, while the jump suits weren't flattering, she was definitely making this work~ Immedeately after the... captivating speech, Austri moved to her first matter of work: Searching for something that was her strong suit. She was rather strong, sure-- Maybe they could use her help in the facilities? A moment later, and the impatient bouncing troll was already in the training hall, grinning widely at the assistants that were there to watch her. Of course she was flawless in her steps(with a a few missteps, but those didn't count), and every moment she spent using her amazing agility was more of a boon than a break!

Polair couldn't believe it. Was this all a dream? Sure felt so. The seadweller couldn't help but hide her smile behind her clipboard. Once she was called to help the lab workers, she felt a pang on her collapsing and expanding bladder based aquatic vascular system. She was supposed to bring them scalding hot hustle? Well, sure they probably needed it but the child was hoping to do something more... scientific. Possibly testing the machinery or doing simple research.

Does it really matter what I do? I helping out and I one step closer to my aims... She thought as she looked for the scalding hot hustles and prepared to deliver them to the lab workers.

Lorata couldn't have been more delighted as she paced through the Science Dome, observing all the trolls at work. From her own Sirens right down to the drones, everyone was giving it their all. That it had become a competition with Chittentown was really just icing on the cake. Heroes came out of conflict, and she was sure the challenge of it would bring out plenty of potential. Not to mention the possibilities that would open up once their space elevator was successfully built! Ah, to be a hero in the stars like Pythea!

She wasn't just watching, of course. She was supervising, helpfully letting everyone know exactly what they needed to be doing. And, as it was, she had the perfect idea for boosting their work ethic. They were all doing such a good job, but if they didn't take more breaks, they'd tire out entirely too quickly! Nodding to herself, she began giving the order as she passed workers.

Austri caught her eye further above as she was passing through and she paused, head tilting back for a better look at the greenblood. Then she lifted a hand with a wide wave. "Austri! Good work!" She gave her friend a proud smile. "Why not come take a break for a bit!"

Psykgi's energy lent itself well to tours. She was capable of doing the same route over and over again, without dropping her not-fake-at-all cheery smile and demeanor. She just learned so much on tour duty, and after explaining it over and over again, it got thoroughly drilled into her thinkpan... which put her in the perfect position to give advice.

It also gave her the opportunity to see just who was actually here... a few friends of hers, actually. Lorata in particular got a wave.

Sadly, not Leeroi – he'd gone over to the other side, as it were. Not unexpected – she supposed that their technological style spoke to him, and she was supportive of him... but she also hoped he wouldn't be too upset with her when Civisect beat his a**. Speaking of... she needed to secure a regular partner. She was sure she could find a few to work with, but there was one person in mind that she wanted to... heh... court, as it were. A very unexpected name on a list.

Sorry, Leeroi, she thought, penning a neatly written letter, But I work best in a team. And it just ends up being her...

You manage to fight through the constant screeching of a faulty alarm in order to disarm it and carry on with your work.

After that, Polair was sent to work. At least that got her hopes up! Whatever order she was given, the child strive to complete it successfully and perfectly, as the science dome had no space for mediocre trolls no matter their blood color. The alarm went off whenever she passed by, though everyone seemed aware that the device itself was faulty. Polair just ignored it, just like she ignores the feeble minded trolls she was sometimes exposed to. But when her technique stopped working, she decided to disarm it. Simple as that. So Polair methodologically took the item apart and set a little reminder for the trolls who work there in a sticky note.

What Eridia once thought it was a stupid nerd event suddenly became interesting. Who knew just how anyone could rock a jumpsuit? And that Doctor! She couldn't help but swoon over that face. Besides watching out for "impending doom" or watching other trolls perform their labors, Eridia was also here because of an annoying redblooded troll. Psygki Mentha, who apparently did know how to wear a jumpsuit. She even wore glasses for her new outfit! No matter, she just needed to show her she wore it better-- like that celebrity TV show she watched. So purposely she passed by the redblood with a catty smile. She pulled out the letter and waved it in front of her face as she hope Psy would follow her as she demonstrated her amazing scientific skills.

Eridia did what she was gifted at, meddling into other people's business. The files were quickly disorganized as she went through and read, and memorized their contents. Surely she'd use it later in case it was required.

So there Eridia sat on someone else's office, looking or at least trying to look like she's seriously working. But she failed as she sat very comfortable with her feet up. Psykgi better see her in her serious office mood or else she would miss a good chance for her to rub all the important things she has done on her cute face. After spinning and playing with the office chair for a few seconds, the highblood decided to put on some headphones and played with the video frequency. Until, she accidentally intercepted a message. Quickly, she wrote down ever word and sent it over to her research team. Gosh she had good info at hand!
