Snowball's tail flickered when the shield broke that the Vanguardian had created he threw the shield up again. "Oh man this is going to get dicey." He caught some of the folks disappearing from other near by squares. Where they out? How long was it going to take to take out the hallow.
He used the pin in order to strengthen his shield as he felt it was a little weak.
Snow-walled! Snowball places his hands out in front of him and a wall of energy-snow forms to create a shield. The Shield can protect Snowball for about 10 seconds. The wall bursts into a spray of energy snow when hit and fades. Can be used twice.

Niflhel wrinkled his nose, "This is not good. I hope we get this thing contained soon." He looked over to Metis, Realta, Aquitania, and Totoro; "Are you guys good?"
He aimed his meteor hammer towards the Hallow again and focused his magic on the creature. Hoping it would cause it to at least be temporarily paralyzed.

Niflhel channels his magic into his single headed meteor hammer and upon channeling his magic the area around him begins to change. The area around Niflhel in a 20-foot area shows the illusion of a dark misty world and causes those inside the area feel as if they have died and ended up in a strange underworld left to wander. The longer an enemy is trapped in this illusion, the colder they will get. Their muscles may tense, as if going into rigor mortis, and they may find it difficult to move. They may feel building aches and pains, or an extremely unpleasant hollowness, as though not only have their bodies died but also their spirit. This can be incredibly disorienting and painful. This attack can last up to 60 seconds but players can choose to have lasting hollowness or aches and pains. Length of chain is 6 foot.

Totoro looked concerned as the shield broke around them even though Snowball was able to throw up yet another shield in order to help them he wasn't sure how much more of this they could take. "How much more do you think we need to do to get it to go inside the spikey prison?
He decided to help Niflhel this time try to hit the Hallow hard enough to maybe get it inside the spikey prison.
Sailor Scout Attack: Dabbling Touch - When Sailor Totoro calls this attack he can choose one target. This target becomes sensitive to being touched. This attack causes them to be 25% more sensitive. So if they're given a normal punch, that might would cause them to say 'ow' this would hurt 25% more than it normally would. This attack also increases the sensitivity to magic that touches the target's skin - however, it doesn't increase the damage. There's also a small chance this attack could backfire on Totoro and not work, or hit someone other than his intended target (including teammates).
Totoro can use this attack 3 times and the effect lasts for 15 seconds.

Axinite's actions surprised Tyndareus. A leader who actually cared about the people under him? He wondered how much of it was just Axinite simply trying to pretend he cared, to look good, but... He ate the berry. Axinite seemed quite genuine. Either he was a hell of an actor, or he meant it. He'd have to decide which Axinite was later.
Taking a breath, he launched himself up at the monster and beat on it with his fists several times before the gravity hurtled him back down. The lightning hurtled down after him, striking him with force that rattled his teeth. Heedless of how it looked, he wound up leaning heavily on Taenite as he caught his breath. Damn, damn, double damn.
Arsenolite exhaled slowly. Their efforts were slowly making a dent, that was for certain. But he wondered if it would be enough. If they'd be able to actually do it. Maybe he should've spent more nights gathering energy for the Chaos cannon. Maybe he didn't do enough. What if they failed, right here, at the last step?
No. He couldn't think like that. He fired another arrow into the beast. He'd do everything he could to stop it. To prevent it from eating his home. Somehow, he dodged a lightning strike, though it was a near thing.
Vesuvianite felt completely worn down. Like they ought to just lay down and go to sleep, forever. Like they ought to give up. They didn't want to, but everything felt so heavy. Somehow, they pulled themselves together enough to leap up again, to aim for the beast, and slice his sickle into the monster's flesh.
He swayed on his feet when he landed. He... he.... felt so close to passing out. Lightning just missed him, somehow, but that was enough to make him pass out.
They finally dropped, the pressure too much, Earth, possibly lost, everything crashing down—
They gasped with no air in their lungs as they were violently wrenched from their body. They felt scattered, nothing made sense, everything prickled and they felt a strange pressure, yet also at the same time, a release.
Were they dead? Was this death? If so, it sucked.
They turned around, searching, trying to make sense of it all.
The Dark Star held them.
Vesuvianite stopped. Everything. Moving, breathing, all of it. The Dark Star held every atom of his attention. Demanded it. Laughed at him.
There was no escape. Earth would die to it eventually. Vesuvianite knew this deep in his bones, now.
As the black lightning surged down from the sky, its jagged energy crackled with intensity, searing through the air with a vicious bite. Xamina, standing alone amidst the chaos, was struck directly by the lightning, the force overwhelming her small frame. Her body jerked violently as the current coursed through her, sending waves of pain throughout her system.
Her fur bristled with the static, and her paws trembled as the energy surged, her once-alert posture faltering. The pain was unbearable, a sharp contrast to the calm determination she had once held. Her vision blurred, and despite her best efforts to regain control, the overwhelming power proved too much.
Xamina’s legs buckled beneath her, the weight of the attack finally too much for her fragile form. With a final, soft meow of distress, her body collapsed to the ground, her energy utterly spent. The last remnants of her strength dissipated in the air, and she fell unconscious, a victim of the unforgiving storm.
She lay there, her breathing shallow and uneven, knocked out cold by the force of the strike, vulnerable and incapacitated.

Emain Ablach was more than happy to take Promethei's suggestion to leave behind the chaos operatives harassing them instead of helping. Just in time, too, as black lightning began to strike the field around them. Just as Emain Ablach nearly slid into the area protected by a glowing senshi, a bolt struck overhead, deflected only by the grace of the shield over Emain Ablach's head. Cursing quite colorfully, he rummaged for his berry, ate it, and then struck out at the beast with his shield.

Amoris was right behind Emain Ablach and Promethei, wanting no part of the people circling and commenting on them. He would have lashed out at them, but firstly he wasn't sure that was a good idea with it two against four, and secondly there were bigger fish--or snakes--to fry. Taking a page out of Emain Ablach's book, Amoris grabbed his astrolabe securely and reached out to strike as hard as he could.
Basiluzzo, transcended Knight of Uranus Location: E4 Action: attacking CH for 100%, eating his berry, being shielded from lightning damage Total: 8 + 10 HP: 52/150
Basiluzzo was never a fan of Encke trying to go off and do things by himself, and he opened his mouth to protest the direction to stay where he was. But there was nothing he could do to help Encke, and so he was forced to admit that Encke was correct. That did not, however, mean he had to stay inactive. Basiluzzo grabbed his staff in both hands and thrust the end of it toward the Calamitous Hollow. He was going to do something, dammit. He didn't have to leave Encke's protection to do that, even as a lightning bolt exploded against the shielding over his head.
Imhotep, squire of Mercury Location: E4 Action: healing Sacha for 100% of roll, eating his berry, being shielded from lightning damage Total: 5 + 5 = 10 HP: 79/125
Imhotep watched Emain Ablach and Amoris go in to land blows on the monster, but the state of a cat that had recently joined the area caught his attention first. He could see that the cat was struggling, in fact barely standing. "Hold still," was the only warning the cat got before Imhotep crouched and summoned the healing dome over him. A senshi next to the cat started to say something, but Imhotep was gratified to see that she changed her mind when it was clear what Imhotep was doing. When Imhotep was done, the cat stood a bit stronger, seemed to breathe a bit easier.
Speaking of breathing a bit easier-- Imhotep straightened and fished his berry out of the pouch it rested in, popping it into his mouth and rejoining the others.
Ancha, basic Senshi of Red Tide Location: E4 Action: attacking CH for 100% of roll, using pin, being shielded from lightning damage Total: 8 + 10 (pin) HP: 16/100
She had just summoned the pool of red water--which sprayed toward the Calamitous Hollow in a glittering arc--with a tap of her pin to go with it when she saw someone approach a very ragged Sacha. Ancha turned her head to tell him off, to leave Sacha alone. They didn't need people meddling and distracting them. But she stopped when she saw the glowing dome go over Sacha and saw Sacha's condition improve. Opting instead to bite her tongue, Ancha gave him a brief nod of thanks that he didn't seem to notice. Well, either way, she had bigger things to worry about--
Like the lightning that would have hit her if not for the protection, making her jump.

Sacha, in fact, felt good enough after the mystery knight's intervention that he immediately fired a beam laser toward the monster. The pin attached to the cord around his neck glittered as he called on what it could do for him. Once that was done, however, he leaned against Ancha's legs, panting. He didn't have much more in him. Hopefully the beast went down soon--
She wasn't panicking, she wasn't. They could do this, they could absolutely do this. Look it was running awa--- no no it wasn't holy s**t ********>. The Hallow coiled up with lightning and then blasted at Earth and something exploded out from Earth to strike back at it. A defense mechanism, probably. At least there was... that. The creature crashed into the shield and she, somehow, dodged a bolt of lighting as it cracked next to her.
She couldn't think that Earth was gone. Not yet. She couldn't give into the despair trying to claw up her chest. No.
She howled again, calling her magic and willed it to apply to herself. To aid in her punch as she launched herself forward and attacked. She landed it with a cry of fury, and jumped back. Once with the group again, she followed Hati's actions and popped her berry into her mouth.
"It's within the spikes, there's still a chance. I ain't quitting until I'm dead!"

So much happened at once that Neryn couldn't do much of anything. They just... stared. Watched the ballista and the beam of moon light. Watched the serpent shrink but still seem to be so out of reach. Watched it roar and crash into the shield. They watched as it rushed through the storm and collected energy in its body.
Watched as it fired upon Earth.
Watched as it crashed into the shield the rest of the Vanguard had create and shattered it.
They fired off their boltcaster again subconsciously.
It was the lightning coursing through their veins as they were struck that brought them back to the present. Everything hurt, everything ached. Their hands and feet felt numb, and not attached. They turned to Lysvi and let out a strangled sound.
"Lysvi!" they reached for their fellow Cadet and stumbledtowards them with jerking steps and a quickly narrowing field of vision.

Well that was... a display. For the first time since this started, Leifite was starting to feel the impossibility of their task. Metallia's power had only put a dent in it, the other attempts much the same. Yet the beast kept going. And going. And going.
It shot at Earth, Earth shot back and it crashed into the shield like the force of a storm.
This time the lightning doubled her over, and she shoved the berry in her mouth.
For the first time since they'd been pulled into this strange rift between realities, Leifite truly felt fear and hopelessnes pull at her chest. She could not die here, she'd not even reached her full potential yet.
She had to keep going. She had to.
She cracked her whip against the beast.

He was thankful for Remarque's magic shielding them. He was very thankful that the puppets took most if not all of the lightning.
He was less thrilled when the Hallow moved and fired at Earth.
He was even less thrilled when the creature crashed through the Shield and lightning slammed into him. Everything hurt so much he couldn't scream or do anything except feel all of his muscles clench at once.
Hydrus heard nothing around him for a moment, not even as he summoned another leviathan to bite the Hallow with it. It might be smaller, it might be closer, but it was angry and out for blood now.
The snake, or well, dragon!! Got even smaller, but like so many people in her life, the smaller they were the angrier they got. The chaos snake guy seemed pretty angry too, and strong. Maybe even as strong as Chillingham? Was it like, really to save the earth? Or did he have some kinda rivalry? Were snakes territorial?
A list of stupid questions prattled on in the back of Mönch's head even as silent, black slashes of lightning cut through the air. Her body hit the ground before her mind could register it that she was falling. Mönch was pretty sure this might actually be it, like it-it for her.
Still, she could feel one last bit of magic still in her, and if she could still fight, even if only a bit, then she would! One last barrage of kernels flew up, this time right at the thing's left nostril.
Crashing back down to the ground under another lightning strike, Mönch managed to weakly gasp out her last words, "You...butter...believe in...Sailor Mönch."
She should have been happy to see the Hallow shrink even more. But when that shrinkage came along with the shield failing and bursts of black lightning striking randomly, she couldn’t really say she was thrilled. Still, they had to keep fighting, right?
Her thoughts were momentarily banished by a jolt of pure adrenaline as she felt lightning striking all around her and heard a feline shriek of pain. Cuan! Roaring angrily, Saiph threw what magic she could muster at the snake, furious that it had managed to hurt her cat.
“Tail thrash!”

They were getting there! They could do this! Iapetus decided to feed her last bit of magic the hot banana. Sure, it was being a little rude given that the alien wasn’t the only one there fighting. But she was the closest to where Iapetus was. And she actually seemed willing and able to attack the ******** thing. So she got the magic boost!
But, before she could gloat too much, Iapetus was struck by a bolt of black lightning. Screaming in pain as it seemed to rip her apart at the seams, the lightning became her entire world. She was made, unmade and turned inside out.
Iapetus’ body went rigid as lightning danced about it. After a moment, she sank to her knees, eyes wide and glassy, reflecting the stars of a galaxy she’d never seen.

Focusing purely on the Hallow, Cuan fired her forehead beam once more, feeling so tired as she noted how the Hallow’s body shrank, but it’s malice seemed to grow. The lightning that struck the battlefield was alarming. Unnatural. She turned to move, to check on her people and was struck.
Freezing and body arching and writhing, Cuan shrieked as the lightning burned through her. It held her for both an eternity and mere moments.
When she came back to herself, she was stretched out on the ground with Saiph scooping her up and crying. Cuan managed a tiny, rusty purr and swiped her tiny pink tongue across her senshi’s shaking hand. She’d live, even if, at the moment, she wasn’t sure she wanted to.
Everything was happening too fast, Ilmare thought. She had, she thought, one more shot of her more powerful magic left. She’d have to use it well. She was distracted by the lighting raining down upon them all and heard a cat scream close by. Before she could turn to look, she felt herself struck and froze in place as every pain receptor in her body went into a frenzy.
After a few moments, she sat on her knees, panting heavily as her skin felt like it was burning up. A glance showed her Saiph’s folded over body and she felt a chill. Then, she saw the chibi move and realized that the kid was protecting her cat’s body. s**t. Cuan hadn’t… no, the cat was moving feebly. Still…
Forcing herself to her feet, Ilmare summoned up her magic and threw it as hard as she could at the snake’s body. Only then did she stumble over to the chibi and do her best to protect the kid and cat with her own body.

Jet watched in horror as the Calamitous Hollow first circled through the clouds, then stopped to fire on Earth. Had they really been that close this whole time? There was nothing they could do but watch and hope their efforts weren’t in vain.
Black lightning crackled around them. Strange tears through space opened up sights he’d never expected to see.
What was this?
His heart raced in his chest. Thoughts swirled through his head. What did it all mean? Did anyone else see what he was seeing? Were they all too focused on the Calamitous Hollow? Not that he blamed anyone for focusing on what appeared to be the more present threat.
Jet held up an arm to shield his face against any scales that came spraying onto the ground. He caught sight of Aquamarine fighting to stay upright. Seraphinite was trying to get him to eat a berry.
“You use it,” he agreed with Aquamarine, taking a step forward so he could prepare to attack once Aquamarine teleported back.
Except with Aquamarine’s strength gone, Jet quickly dismissed his weapon to catch him as he fell.
“Aqua!” he hissed with alarm, arms around him as he lowered Aquamarine closer to the ground. He reached a hand to Aquamarine’s face, but was startled by what he saw and visibly recoiled. Jet’s eyebrows furrowed with confusion. His breath caught in his throat.
He placed one knee against the ground as he pulled Aquamarine into his lap. Jet smoothed his fingers over Aquamarine’s face briefly before checking his neck for a pulse. He was alive, but why did his eyes look like that? Jet was almost tempted to get his own berry and shove it into Aquamarine’s mouth, but--
Something shifted in the back of his mind. A thought. A consciousness. Aquamarine was there, but not there.
Along with something else…
Not willing to leave Aquamarine on his own, Jet carefully lifted him into his arms and hoisted Aquamarine over his shoulder. Even without his General King strength, lifting his partner over his shoulder was nothing to him. He just needed to hold on tightly as he summoned his weapon to his hand again, took aim, and hurled the glaive like a javelin.
Aquamarine would have fussed at him for doing so, but it wasn’t like he was conscious enough to see.
“Aquamarine is down. Stay close if you can,” he called over to Ashanite and Seraphinite. It looked like many of their own were falling around them. They had to figure out a way to either trap or kill this serpent as quickly as possible, otherwise their chance at success would quickly fade.
There was... a lot going on. A lot more than she was alright with or felt comfortable with or could, realistically, handle. The beast was so large and so strong and she was trying so hard. She'd thought they had a chance, then the Hallow fired at Earth.
It fired at Earth.
An overwhelming sense of loss filled her, as though she'd been hit by her own magic. Her mind was quiet, still, not quite accepting the fact that the Hallow fired upon Earth. That it could just have done that, at any point.
And then Haymitch fell from Albite's shoulder and vanished before he hit the ground.
Something cracked in her chest and Mizuki wailed. She flung her useless magic at the Hallow without thought or regard. Lightning slammed into her in response but she didn't care. Haymitch was gone. Haymitch was gone!
The last shreds of her sanity got her to eat her berry, but her eyes were wild.
Corrupt Guardian Haymitch Location: A4 Action: Failing to fire his lazer as he falls from Albite's shoulder and vanishes Total: 1 HP: -4 / 100 KO'd!
They were doing it, they were fighting it, they were making headway.
Until they weren't.
Lightning cracked through Haymitch's tiny body as he tried to fire off his forehead beam again. He slipped from Albite's shoulder with a gasp.
"Albite... I don't feel so good..."
He vanished before his body hit the ground.
Captain Litharge Location: A4 Action: Eating his berry then attack because OW Total: 3 + 5 = 8 HP: 21 - 20 + 15 = 16 / 125
He barely held on as the lightning slammed into him. His ears run, his bones felt like they were vibrating, and every nerve ending screamed in agony. His vision flickered and blotted out but he was still breathing, still alive.
Barely.
His hands shook with the effort it took to grab the berry and eat it. They settled a little, but the muscle spasms remained.
Mizuki wailed and he watched with horror filled eyes as the cat disappeared. No. No no. Not Haymitch. The kitten didn't deserve this.
Litharge forced his body to move, forced his limbs to work and turned his scythe on the Hallow. He swung and sliced with rage in his eyes.
Everything felt distant. Softened at the edges. Pendour blinked slowly, swaying on her knees. It was those moments right before falling asleep. In other situations, it would have been peaceful. The talking and the work of those around her slurred together, turning into something that was just background noise.
The shield was about to shatter despite everything she'd sacrificed. She knew it, deep in her heart. She could see it failing, see the holes in it. She swallowed, eyelids beginning to flutter. All she could do now was hope that it would all be enough. The Herald was smaller, now. The lightning prison seemed to be strengthening, trying to draw it in. Maybe-
The Herald attacked Earth in a single burst of energy. All turned to smoke around them. Maybe if she'd had the energy, Pendour would have screamed. The hope shattered inside her, all the same.
The lightning rose around them, stronger than before. Blacker. It tore at her skin, at her heart, at her dreams. She really hadn't been trying to put herself in danger, but with all the energy she'd given, she didn't have anything to resist it with.
She glanced at Encke for a moment, where he was in the distance. He wasn't close to her, but she always knew how to find him, knew what to look for. In that moment, she thought she could see a leader in him, the king from his past life, from his dreams, as he rode the lightning and tried to protect the others.
And Abzu. He was coming to her. She saw him glow, change. A Knight now, truly. She could feel the warmth and the strength of his arms around her, almost feel the power of his magic and his ill like energy around him.
Their strength, it wasn't enough to restore her hope. Another round of lightning passed through her body. She shuddered. Seeing how wonderful the people she loved were, it only reminded of her how much she was losing.
But the worry in Abzu's face, the pain? She didn't want him to have to feel like that. Not even at the end.
"Look at you," she murmured, in that sleepy way. She raised a hand to brush his hand from his furrowed face. "You're so beautiful, and strong. My Knight."
She kissed him on the lips. Softly, tenderly, the way that she hoped would give him a final moment of peace.
The lightning overcame her completely. She stiffened against him. Then, she dissolved into nothingness.
It ******** hurt, enough that America...no she was Brassite, she's Brassite here and now and she'd no idea where Miss Christ-on-Cola had got off too. Right up until she showed up way the ******** across the field, back and different.
Sometimes she forgot how strange senshi were, corrupt or not. They were so much less grounded in this world than anybody else. And whatever the eternal had done, well, it sure as hell wasn't gonna ********' fix that impression.
It still ********' hurt, and Brassite couldn't ignore it so instead she just became it. Settled right down into the burning of it. The freezing of it. The way it tried to split her down the middle and peel her out of her skin. Like a piece of unripe fruit, not quite ready with the flesh still trying to cling. It hurt more to move, she she ********' moved and told herself it she'd never felt to ********' alive.
She moved and rushed back at the thing, unwilling to hesitate in front of the General Queen who kept throwing her own self at it. At some point, she must've blacked out, 'cause next thing she knew she was back on the ground, fists dirty and aching, pain blanketing all her other senses.
It was fine, though, wasn't it? Grinning, eye wide and vacant, Brassite readied herself to run at it again. And again. Right up until either it stopped or she did.
Okay, there was no denying it any more. Chariklo was absolutely ******** pissed. She watched as the people around her were struck by lightning and even felt it hit herself. She wanted to be cavalier about it and say that birthing twins had been worse.
But that was a filthy ******** lie. Birthing twins was a goddamned picnic compared to how the black lightning seemed to be doing its best to tear her apart from the inside out.
She hurt, she was scared. But right now, she was also too damned spiteful to curl up and die. She knew she had one last hit of her eternal magic left to her. So she used it.

Slinging fireballs at the shrinking Hallow, Xibalba managed, just barely, to stay on his feet as lightning struck and burned through him. Granted, the pain had caused him to bite his own lip so hard he was bleeding, but that was fine. He would just look like a horror show for a bit.
Better that than some of the less pleasant potential alternatives.

Reaching for one of the myriad shark teeth on her fuku, Namaka groped until she found one big enough for what she wanted. Holding it like a knife, the senshi of sharks ran and leapt for the Hallow, calling up her Dentricle Dam magic. She held no illusions that she’d be able to really damage the Hallow. But she’d be happy hurting it even a tiny bit.
She was allowing herself to drop from the sky when the black lightning caught her. Screaming and arching in mid-air, Namaka found herself plummeting and crashing into the ground once the lightning released her. As she lay there, all she could do was stare up and watch the snake.

Orcus had accepted the offered seed with a soft, “Thank you.” She hadn’t expected any kindness from the Court. Well, barring Remarque. But he knew her. This little green haired girl didn’t. Offering her a smile, Orcus turned her attention back to the fight. She didn’t know how much power she had left in her. Regardless, as lightning struck all around her, she summoned up what magic she could and released it, aiming everything she had at the Hallow’s ugly ******** face.

Somebody was there, catching her. Siegfried. There had been times before when her husband's embrace had been enough to snap her out of bouts of rage, or panic. Even now, it helped.
It just didn't help quite quickly enough. They hit the platform hard. They hit the platform at the wrong angle. Siegfried's ankle snapped. She could hear it.
She could feel her own wrist snap too, as they rolled slightly. The pain was white hot, mirrored by the lightning that seemed to be worsening. She grunted, although her head cleared a bit. She'd been through worse, but this was still bad.
She didn't know how much more she could fight, and the beast-

At least, trying to. There were shields, but she couldn't tell how well they had worked. There was just smoke in the sky and the Herald was still there, still trying to fight, and what about Olivia?
Her thoughts tried to jump over one another in her panic.
The thoughts of her wife, meant to be safe at home, made the tears slip from her eyes.
She didn't have the words left to keep encouraging the others, but it only took one hand to pull her tiara from her hair. It only took a little rage and a flick of the wrist to throw it at the snake.
Promethei, Knight of Mercury Location: E4 Action Using up some more magic because this thing needs to go down- HP 78 Roll 1 (lol) + 10 = 11
When Promethei was suggesting a place to move to to get away from the nosy half-youma general and his captain attachment, he didn't expect to step right into visions of a future he hoped they would never see, and Black lightning channeling directly into something nearby. It meant that he hurt considerably less than he might have, but his mind was screaming.
It was screaming in all four languages he knew at least some of! Merida, maldito serpiente, "זַיִן בַעָיִן!*"
The best they could do was try and kill the damn thing where it stood. Better to not waste Señor Araya's lightning suck he figured.

Thestias noticed that the people she was standing with started moving, and moved along with them. Maybe they didn't notice her specifically, but at the very least she needed to make sure she stayed with other people who felt like they had the same energy as her. She didn't know what to think of the people in darker outfits who are clearly inspecting the knights.
Thestias was too new to what was happening on Earth to understand who any of them were, all she saw was that the planet in front of her that she had just managed to make herself comfortable on for five seconds was dying.
And she couldn't let that happen, and the people she was standing with? It seemed like they were well equipped to make sure that stopped.
Hopefully.
Thestias would do her best to make sure they were still standing by the end, eyes widening as she felt the reptilian creature staring down at her.
"I thought we were supposed to be on the same side," she murmured, missing seeing Creatures like her, but absolutely not missing this kind of fight.
Maybe Ancha had a point. That lightning getting diverted wouldn't have happened where they last stood, he knew that. Perhaps standing with a group was not the worst thing in the world.
Would he say that to her directly?
Absolutely not.
Instead, he would proceed as if he would have if not necessarily protected from all of the Black lightning that charged at them. He did still feel the fact that the snake creature was slashing at them, and he knew the best he could do was tap on some other magic that he had.
The magic of his earlier stages was all about shielding himself from damage, and also potentially damaging the people who attacked them in the process. All he cared about at this point was the ********, ******** class="quote">
Stromboli raised his paddle again to give the snake another blow. What he wasn't prepared for was the searing pain that reverberated down his body as soon as his paddle made contact. It tore a shout from his throat, and he stumbled back, falling to the ground half-seated, half-prone. Ran wasn't sure how much he had left in him, but he was willing to do what he could while he could. He summoned his pit of game pieces one last time and resumed throwing them as hard as he could at the snake.
Onasilos took a deep breath and struck forward with a fist, gratified to feel it connect. But that did not save him from the black lightning that struck him in return and seared all of his nerve endings raw until it hurt to take any more breaths.
