Occupation: He has been assigned to a small cluster of independent churches so that their presiding priest can fully promote to bishop. While he rotates through the churches on a fairly regular basis, he can usually be found at Christ the Good Shepherd.
Hobbies: --Hopeless Romantic-- while Teegan, himself, is aromantic, he secretly lives for all of the mushy bullshit associated with love and romance. He loves love, even if he, himself, doesn’t experience romantic love. He has the occasional trashy romance novel, but most of them are multi-issue arcs where the protagonist always ends up with the girl, guy, both- or neither-persuasion partner of their dreams. The backdrop genre varies--though he’s not a fan of westerns or period dramas--but there’s always a happy ending.
--Organization-- If Teegan is left alone with nothing to do in a room of average entropy, he will shortly destroy the second law of thermodynamics and drag that room into increasing order. It fills him with a sort of zen to sit down and arrange everything in a cabinet to be just so. His own living spaces are very tidy as a result. He doesn’t abhor messiness--messiness is a sign of a lived-in space, after all--but he does prefer things to be neat and has no problem with making them be that way.
--Macramé-- Organization is soothing, and so is tying fifty thousand knots until a bunch of rope is fashioned into something with both utilitarian and aesthetic purpose. Teegan was never a boy scout, but he knows his way around a knot or dozen. It also serves as a way to make gifts for friends and loved ones. Teegan’s gotten very good at macramé hanging planter baskets as a result, due to Diryas owning approximately a billionty plants.
--Languages-- Languages are fun, and Teegan likes studying the patterns, morphemes, cognates etc. that make up language. As a result of his love of language and his studies, Teegan is strong with Latin and conversational in Hebrew. He’s passable in Spanish and French, enough to get by in informal settings if the other person is patient.
Virtues: --Caring-- Teegan generally cares about how other people are doing. He naturally endeavours to reduce suffering where he can and offer support where he can’t. While he won’t be that person who feels overtaken by the injustice in the world, he is certainly very aware of it and will try to do what he can about it when given the opportunity. This has ranged from arranging childcare for single parents so they can go to job interviews to hosting food drives to setting up donations to help a family move into a house able to accommodate special needs. He is not terribly philanthropic, however, as a) he’s not exactly wealthy and b) he prefers to address the ills of the people around him directly.
--Level-headed-- His vocation requires him to take a lot of things in stride, and Teegan can be nigh unflappable at times. There are certainly things that can break through this, and he is no stranger to righteous anger, but in general Teegan is capable of hearing information and calmly processing it. There will always be time for anger and retribution later, after all.
--Outgoing-- Teegan has no issues with shyness or social anxiety. He likes interacting with people, hearing their stories, and connecting with them. It’s part of what drew him to his vocation in the first place, after all. He will reach out to people who look like they’re struggling, or just in general, especially if they seem to be perceptive. He like to play games, and it’s even better if the other person(s) is/are on board. He can be a little overbearing at times, but it’s rarely for very long.
--Perceptive-- It is, perhaps, good that Teegan is perceptive. It keeps him from being a freight train with other aspects of his personality, mitigating instances where he might otherwise outright run people over in a social situation. He is, of course, free to disregard what he observes, but he does tend to observe most people’s body language and other subconscious cues. It helps when noticing someone in his services who might be having a hard time, but it also helps with some less noble pursuits, such as deciding if someone’s being honest with him.
Flaws: --Secretive-- Teegan wants to know all of your secrets, but he’s not going to give you any of his in return. He’s very hard to get to reveal anything about himself that he doesn’t think you need to know. Even something like his name can be hard to get out of him if he doesn’t understand why or agree that you should have it. He’s just as likely to give you a fake name if you persist and leave it up to you to decide if you want to believe him or now. He will, when at all possible, avoid an outright lie, but he doesn’t shy away from convenient half-truths when he can use them. He has had friends realize that they don’t even know what half of his hobbies are, or what it is he actually does for a living.

--Hypocritical-- Part of why he doesn’t have many friends is that he is no stranger to hypocrisy. After all, he won’t tell you any of his secrets, but he wants to know all of yours. He often bristles at being asked where he’s going when he’s heading out, unless he thinks you’re allowed to know that information. He won’t be rude, but he will deflect and refuse to actually answer the question. If you persist, then he will be rude. His hypocrisy does not go unchecked, as it’s a problem he knows he has, but monitoring it and trying to take the edge off of it does not mean that it goes away.
--Domineering-- Teegan expects to get his way 99.99999999% of the time, and he acts accordingly. It’s not that he doesn’t like being told ‘no’. The word doesn’t particularly bother him. It’s moreso that objections are evaluated and measured for how much he feels he needs to listen to them. There are certain lines he cannot and will not cross, under any circumstances. Any sexual encounters, for instance, must have the legal and enthusiastic consent of everyone involved. But if you want to go to Outback for dinner and he wants to go to Roadhouse, and he’s driving, he’ll, uh… “take your suggestion under advisement”. He takes “stubbornness” and “obstinacy” and elevates to a whole new level. If you want to change his mind, go ahead and try. It’s not impossible. But it is very difficult, and he rarely cares that it can make him hard to work with.
After all, he does not have many friends, and his field is a largely solitary one.
--Compartmentalizing-- Part of what allows Teegan to balance so many obviously contradictory elements is that he’s adept at boxing things into their own spaces and dealing with them accordingly. He does not ever mix work and play, for instance, under any circumstance. Trying to get him to do so is one of the few things that will make him legitimately angry. He can seem to be two entirely different people and someone from one part of his life showing up in another can be quite jarring for him. Also, if something is bothering him, it’s not likely that it’ll be visible to other people, as he’ll bury it away and tuck it away in its own little box until he feels good and ready to deal with whatever it is. On his time and his time only of course.

Face: Teegan has very Irish(tm) features; he has deep-set eyes, a strong nose, and a tapered jaw. He is light-skinned, but does understand what a tan is, though his skin is given to freckling first. He is very expressive, with enough meat on his frame to somewhat square out his jaw, shoulders, etc.
Clothes: When not in his uniform for work, Teegan is a bit of a clotheshorse. Crisp button-ups in a French tuck, well-fitting jeans, nice sneakers, and very particular accessories (a watch, a single small post in each ear) complete the look. He prefers dark-wash jeans, but light colours for his shirts. That being said, Teegan can certainly be convinced to dress up a bit in a pair of well-fitting slacks
Purified Backstory
Teegan graduated from a Catholic high school in his hometown, earning his associates' degree at the same time from the local community college via dual enrollment. At seventeen, while still a high school senior, he applied and was accepted to an accelerated bachelor's/Master's program at a mid-Atlantic regional university. At 21, he graduated with a bachelor's in theology and a master's in philosophy. After graduation, he completed seminary at twenty-five and his time in the diaconate a year later. After he was ordained as a priest at twenty-six, however, he left the mainstream Catholic priesthood to join the unaffiliated Catholic church, which does not report to the Vatican. He was assigned to a small parish consisting of a couple of unaffiliated independent churches before moving to Destiny City.
