Renaissance Faires - Introduced to the 'Rennie' way of life by a cousin at the tender age of 11, it is strongly suspected that this is where Angus' own code of chivalry was born. It was at his first Faire that he realized that IT WAS OKAY TO ACT LIKE A KNIGHT AND PLAY DRESSUP. And even the GROWNUPS were playing pretend! And no one looked down on anyone else. Granted, the bawdy songs and gypsy calls of "BEETCH BOY!" were a little over his head, but hey, he learned fast. And the swords. Did we mention the swords? Angus was quite impressed by the sheer number of people selling, buying and carting around sharp, pointy things that would have normally gotten them arrested outside of the camp ground.
Angus delights in dressing up as a bard or a knight, playing the part with an ease born of practice and real life convictions, and running through a large camp ground and bopping people over the head with a foam broadsword. And the fact that he gets to rescue the "Princess" from a "Dragon" or rescue a few wenches from the Wench Chain on a near clockwork basis doesn't hurt anything either.
His kilt is one of his most prized possessions. And he fully believes that while at Faire, it is imperative to go commando and allow the ladies the occasional "kilt check". After all, Rennie Ladies do love dem kilt checks!
Frankly, we're not certain that Angus was meant for 21st Century life. The way he throws himself whole-heartedly into the Faire lifestyle makes us suspect that he was born a few centuries and a couple of continents off.
Home Brewery - No, we're not talking about the bathtub stills of the Prohibition era. Nor the moonshine antics of inbred hillbillies. Angus decided recently to start brewing his own beer, ale and mead. And he's pretty good at it. He makes regular, weekly visits to the nearest home brew supply store and hunts down recipes on the internet. Granted, waiting for his brews to settle and become drinkable can be a pain sometimes. But that's what starting a new batch once a week is for! A steady and delicious supply of alcoholic beverages. They also make fantastic birthday and Christmas presents.
Swords. Swords Swords Swords. - Angus loves swords. He has since he was a wee sproggling. He collects blades like they were candy and even finagled his parents into signing him up for classes in how to fight using swords. And as for his collection, be grateful he doesn't keep it in a brightly lit room or you would go blind from the sparkling. Angus' swords are his babies. And he takes exacting care of them.
Motorcycles - Motorcycles follow swords and happy sexy times as one of Angus' favorite pastimes. He adores restoring old bikes and getting in there and working on them. He's actually apprenticing in being a motorcycle mechanic and keeps two bikes. One for riding and being awesome on. And the other is his pet project that he's rebuilding from the ground up.
Virtues:
R-E-S-P-E-C-T! - Angus generally likes everyone. Well, okay, not EVERYONE, but he'll still be civil and try to do the right thing and help them if they need it. Men are brothers in arms who should be helped because two heads are always better than one! Children must be helped, nurtured and protected as the innocents they are! Besides, children are the future, right? Protect the damn future, yo! And girls are delicate, lovely flowers that must be treated with respect and care at all times.
Just don't ever let Lady Janet hear him say that! She's one of the few females he knows who can wear a full suit of armor, swing a sword and still benchpress Angus' a** is she takes it into her mind to do so. Any woman who can hide a ******** claymore in her bountiful cleavage and still curtsy, walk and do a jig is not a delicate flower! Well, okay, maybe she is. But she is an armor clad, delicate flower who will kick your a**!
Look, it all boils down to taking the time to not be an a**. Okay? Simple as that.
Wary - Graced with a pretty fair sized helping of good old horse sense, Angus tends to avoid some of the pitfalls that others tend to get mired in. Simply put, he just knows better. This is why you will never see him get into an argument with a crazy person, go swimming alone or tell the group he's with that he will be right back just before walking alone into the spooky forest armed with nothing more than a small flashlight and rape whistle. Angus may tend to believe in the best of people's intentions, but he still knows that bad things can and will happen. And to combat that, he is going to be careful, look both ways and try his best to not be the dumbass whose last line is inevitably, "I'll be right back!"
Roguish Charm - Much like Han Solo, Angus is a bad boy who is extremely likable. Sure, he might look a little scary with his long hair, piercings and tattoos, but then he gives you that crooked smile and hint o'flirting and next thing you know, you're in some dive bar getting drinks and swapping stories about who has the most scars. It's all in good fun.
Flaws:
Invasive - Privacy? Personal Space? What're those? Angus may be an all around decent guy, but he has absolutely no concept of when to not stick his nose into other people's affairs. It's not just that he will go up to someone asking what's wrong. It's that he won't leave them alone when they show an unwillingness to talk. Someone heard a loud argument in an empty classroom? Angus will run right over, barge in and proceed to grill the participants and then try to con them into a group hug. Threats of extreme violence against his person won't even dissuade him for getting all up in someone's face.
Nothin' But A Houndog - While being charming and flirting is not a bad thing in and of itself, Angus tends to go overboard. He is borderline obsessed with sex and his own perceived romantic prowess. Essentially, if there is a person he finds even remotely attractive nearby he will go into flirting over-drive in his attempts to hook up. The only things that tend to keep in even slightly in check are when he has a delicate mechanical task to accomplish or if he's in the middle of a sword bout. And even then, that won't completely stop him trying to horndog.
Stone-Cold Temper - Angus doesn't often get angry or lose his temper. But when he does, it's best to just take cover and ride that cold wave out. When angry, Angus tends to not only go silent, but become so remote and cold that it's honestly a little scary because it is almost impossible to tell what's going through his mind. It's like being in a room with an ice statue that's radiating anger. Brrrrr!
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION
Eyes: Deep-set, slightly rounded eyes that are a soft heather green in color.
Hair: Thick and wavy dark honey blond hair with lighter blond and faint red highlights. Style is THIS witht he braid being waist length. Ref2
Face: Celtic pale skin with a hint of sun tan/burn. Circular face with a slightly squared jaw, thin lips, crooked grin. Average nose, though slightly crooked from being broken, average ears with two piercings in each. Sports a neatly trimmed mustache and goatee that is sliiiightly darker than his hair. Also has a lip ring.
Body: 6'3", stocky build with muscle definition through the chest and arms. Sports a couple of tattoos, one of which is on his shoulder and is a large, stylized iron cross with a celtic knot design surrounding it.
Clothes: The aforementioned piercings, tends to prefer wearing biker boots and well-fitting jeans along with shirts that show off his physique. When not in jeans, it's kilts all the way, baby!

Spell - While channeling, Xibalba is able to summon tiny, pebble sized fireballs and sling them at the enemy. When they touch the skin of the guilty (Chaos infused), they leave easily ignored burns (think 1st degree or light sunburn-ish). They are more of a nuisance-y sting. Total allotted channeling time is 25 seconds.
Knight - Gold/Bronze - wrapped with rusty red leather, metallic sling staff, Sling Staff 2
Spell - While channeling, Xibalba is able to summon and sling fist sized fireballs of burning justice. When the fireballs touch the skin of the guilty (Chaos infused), they can leave painful burns (2nd degree). Total allotted channeling time is 55 seconds.
ASPECT OF MARS: The raging fires of an active battlefield seem to always be illuminating Knights of Mars. They are so filled with the spirit of war that taking damage invigorates them with a short surge of energy instead of slowing them down. While losing blood and breaking bones are still a danger to them, these Knights have been able to turn such things into motivation to keep fighting instead of reasons to stop.
