Name: Sacha
Nickname: Sasha (Taalia named him, and she's never bothered correcting people who spell his name wrong)
Gender/Pronoun: cis male; he/him
Breed: Maine Coon
Alignment: order
Attached to: Sailor Ancha of Red Tide
Fav. Food: lox on bagels with cream cheese and capers
Hated Food: cat food, whether dry, wet, dollar-store kibble or premium cuts. Even before he awoke, he turned his nose up at it.
Hobbies:
Cat TV--before he awoke, Sacha was enamored by seeing the birds and small animals on the screen. After awakening, he still keeps it on for the background noise while reading or doing other things. Or, at least, so he claims. He curates an extensive Spotify playlist of nature sounds and is in love with David Attenborough's voice.
Swimming--Sacha has never shied away from water as a cat, so Taalia got him a kiddy pool to paddle around in. He loves to lounge around in the water on a hot day and actively seeks out puddles when wandering (the extensive baths after are a plus, not a chore). When in human guise, it's very common to find him at the public pools or reservoir.
Knitting--it's more difficult as a cat, but--thanks to arm-knitting techniques--not impossible! The cat fur in the finished pieces is just a bonus, a gift, a symbol of his labour of love, if you will. He does give others his pieces, even if by virtue of just happening to leave a furry scarf on their porch.
Virtues:
Kind--he holds genuine goodwill towards those he considers his fellows, he is gentle toward children and the vulnerable, and Sacha is rarely unwilling to bend to accommodate someone he cares about. In most occasions, he acts with deference towards these people, willingly putting his needs and wishes aside for their comfort and well-being. He will also go the extra distance to make sure these people are taken care of. It can make him seem like a pushover at first, and he is familiar with having to correct other people away from that notion.
Disciplined--Sacha is very composed in what he does, where he does it, and how he does it. He is hard to catch off-guard--at least outwardly--and not easy to move to large displays of emotion (even objectively positive ones). It's similarly difficult to distract him from his goals and tasks. Even where motivation is lacking, discipline will carry him through. He commits himself to his principles, and he does it whole-heartedly. He may not always take a break when he needs to, but he does recognize rest time as important.
Dutiful--when Sacha makes a promise or commitment, his word is his bond. As such, he takes promises and commitments very seriously and does not make them without deep thought and consideration for any ramifications or ripple effects. He takes his role as a guardian cat just as seriously, though not without a touch of humour around some of the more idiosyncratic aspects of the job. It seems to genuinely bother him that he wasn't the one to awaken Ancha.
Flaws:
Proud--Sacha is determined to be self-sufficient (within reason, of course; he can't hold a mortgage on his own!) and handle his own business. This can make him vulnerable to irritation when he feels like he can't do these things, and he doesn't appreciate people insisting on helping him where they have not been invited to do so. Not only can this make him more likely to overextend himself, but he does not apologize well in situations where he doesn't think an apology is actually warranted. He does not like admitting when he's wrong outside of petty disagreements and will vent his anger if someone needles him about it.
Callous--he doesn't think he's callous. He would call himself pragmatic. He's not petty, but there are very few second chances with Sacha unless he cares about you a very, very great deal--and even then, not without significant thought and no small amount of sulking on his part. In fact, there may not be any first chances! Moreover, he doesn't believe that "life" as a philosophical concept is any more morally preferable than "death". There is no point to turning to him for mercy. He simply will not offer it. His way of dealing with other people not liking this is to keep his company to people who are less likely to object. Being a cat makes this easier.
Willful--Sacha is very strong-willed, which feeds neatly into his sense of discipline and duty, but can make him a handful when it comes to convincing him around to a different way of operating and cause frustration in people who have to attempt it. With some exceptions for people he cares about, Sacha generally does what he feels he should, when, where, and how he feels he should do it. Like his self-professed 'pragmatism', he doesn't view this as a problem. He doesn't think he's stubborn. He can--and does--however butt heads with people who have similar personalities should their plans not match up.
