At long last the Quest system is finally here!

This means that knights may now earn and start using their summons, along with some other cool things.

The list of quests is small now but keep an eye on them, we'll be adding more from time to time and if you want you can even propose personal quests for your own knight!
Check out all the information here: Knight Quests

A little bit of information regarding Olympus and the Knight Academy have also been added to the Knight information thread and the Past Lives forum.

With that, the Knight ORP is coming to a close, so if you want to get some final posts in make sure you do so within the next week!

The DMC Information thread has been updated!

Please check it out! The old thread is now considered out of date and inaccurate and has been archived! While there have been some IC reveals that are related to the DMC, not all of this information is ICly known yet, so please do not handwave your character learning this information right off the bat! You can find commonly known or assumed information for the DMC Court in the archived thread. If you have questions about what your Dark Mirror Senshi could be permitted to know, please feel free to PM the mule and we will get back to you as soon as possible!

October 12th

Well, guys, this is it! The meta has come to a close! We want to thank everyone so much for their participation and we are really excited to see how all those future memories affect our characters in present day. This wouldn't have been possible without everyone who took all the time and effort to make it work.

This meta has been a long time coming; Akina and Orestae planted the seed, and every staff team since them has had some impact. We'd like to thank everyone who invested their time into making sure that the meta moved forward—be it a staff member or a player. This shop wouldn't be anything without so many people putting their time, effort and love.

It means a lot to be surrounded by so many amazing, creative people, and we will always strive for the absolute best—because the shop, and each and every one of you, deserves it.

That being said, this was the first meta anyone on this staff has run and we hope you guys have some feedback on how we can improve in the future! This has been a great learning experience, but we want the next meta to be even better! If you have any feedback or suggestions at all, please PM the shop mule, The Space Cauldron so we can work on improving! All feedback is confidential and appreciated, so please don't be shy! We are hoping for honest opinions and ideas so we can improve for future events. There is no deadline to when you can PM this in, and there is no form—please just label the PM 'Meta Feedback'!

Though the meta may be over, it doesn't mean it should be forgotten! With the closing of the meta, there are a few additional announcements to be made!

  • Firstly, the subforum will stay open for a while! We will make another announcement when we have an idea of when the subforum will be locked, however if you have unfinished roleplays, you are free to continue them. If you have unfinished plots (roleplays that you wanted to do but never got started) you may continue to post new RPs, however they must ICly occur before the Final ORP/sentencing ORP! No new RPs should be posted as occurring after then!

  • Secondly, we had a lot of activity—and many of you have been wondering how meta roleplays will affect requirements. While more information can be found in this thread, the short version is that every three RPs from the meta can be used to claim a growth item for use on any character present day! You may use these whenever you like, or save them! You cannot transfer them, though! They are for use for you and you alone!

  • Thirdly, growth items aren't the only thing we're giving out to people who participated in the meta…

We'd like to introduce a new feature to the shop—Crown Tokens! Crown Tokens are a Moonshop specific currency rewarded to valued players that can be saved and exchanged. From now on, these can be earned through various ways, including participation in certain events, through nominations from staff from creativity or helpfulness, and through meeting monthly criteria. This month's criteria can be found in the new information thread set up for Crown Tokens. If you participated in the meta and link to one meta roleplay you were involved in that was started prior to October 11th, finished or not, you may claim your first Crown Token! All you need to do in order to claim this Crown Token is post in the thread that you are claiming for your Meta Token and link to the RP (or solo!) started in the Dystopian Future subforum!

  • Finally, as a reminder--if you haven't already checked out the DMC Information Write up, please do! There have been some major canon changes and an update since it was posted!

July 20th

Is your character unhappy with the Dark Mirror Court? Are you desperately looking for the way out but don't know where to start?

…Did you check Mirrorspace?

Mirrorspace is a realm full of strange, unknown corridors, but it is tailored to meet the specific needs of a Dark Mirror Senshi. So when your need just so happens to be out, don't be surprised if Mirrorspace is there to accommodate you.

And don't be surprised if its ready to fight back.

No one has ever really understood what happened when you stepped through the Mirror. Even now, no one truly does. But one thing is certain: when it gives you power, it takes something from you. Not something you'd miss—not something you'd even realize was gone.

Unless, you know. Your starseed is important to you.

Mirrorspace doesn't take your starseed, but it wraps it in a shroud of itself, and makes a copy it keeps close, hidden. Your White Moon starseed remains in your chest, tarnished by the layer of Mirrorspace—of Mirrorcoating—that covers it. This glistening, reflective coating is literally a piece of Mirrorspace, connecting your starseed to it—and to the copy. For as long as your starseed is wrapped in this coating, it is tied to the replica created for Mirrorspace, and for as long as Mirrorspace pumps chaos energy and influence into this replica of a starseed, it is reflected in your starseed.

The only option you have is to stop the flow of Chaos…but you need your starseed to live. But what about that replica starseed?

The replica starseed, a MirrorSeal, is the source of all chaotic influence upon your starseed. If you cannot sever the Mirrorcoating from your starseed to block to flow, then you need to remove the replica.

To do this, you must venture into Mirrorspace and find it—and it won't be easy.

Mirrorspace will take you through winding paths and corridors, the likes of which are mostly untraveled. Your journey will not be an easy one; Mirrorspace is full of traps and monsters seeking to destroy those which would destroy it. But all you have to do is focus on your goal, and Mirrorspace will guide you there.

Your journey will take you to a room no different than any other. Except, in this room, floating gently in the center, you will find the MirrorSeal. Any attempt to touch it will result in a flash of light, and you will be greeted with an exact replica of yourself—only, better.

Mirrorspace provides the illusion of you—a better you. The you that you always wanted to be. The you that you can be. With its help. Or, at least, that's what it will tell you. This replica knows everything about you—because, it is you. Everything you have experienced as a Dark Mirror Senshi, it has been a part of. Your starseed is tied to its starseed. Mirrorspace will use this illusion to try and convince you to stay leave the room, and the starseed. It will use your hopes and dreams to try and convince you that you will only reach them with the Dark Mirror Court. If words will not sway you, your doppelganger will use all means necessary to stop you from removing the starseed—including attack you.

Your Replica knows your strengths and weaknesses, but it has all the same. In order to beat the replica, you need to be firm in your convictions, and be true to your true self. Your Replica may be defeated through physical altercation or by firm resolve; either way, the end is the same: cracks appear across it, splintering in every direction until they shatter. Only the shards of a mirror remain, and you are free to remove your MirrorSeal.

You must exit Mirrorspace quickly, before it can try to seal you in a room with no mirrors. Once you exit Mirrorspace, you must find any Royal Order character to purify the MirrorSeal. The MirrorSeal emits a very faint, pulsing chaos; if you attempt to shatter it, you will shatter your own starseed—be careful. For as long as that Chaos exists, your starseed is tied to it.

It does not cost an order character as much energy to purify a Dark Mirror Senshi as it would another Chaos afflicted character; they are using their Order Crystal to push out the chaos inhabiting the MirrorSeal. They may wind up winded or fatigued, but this is among the easiest of purifications. Once the Chaos is pushed out, the protective barrier around your starseed will fade; it will have no connection to Chaos or Mirrorspace and will wither. This is very painful and feels like a hand in your chest, squeezing uncomfortably. It may take a few minutes for the coating to die, or it may take a few hours; it depends on the senshi, how long they were in the court, and their rank. During this time, other Dark Mirror Senshi may feel a pang upon their own starseed if powered; Mirrorspace is suffering, and they will know it. They may not know what is going on, but they will know that something is wrong, even if only for a brief second.

When the coating is finally gone, the light will return to your Starseed. Free of chaos, you will return to the White Moon Senshi you were originally intended to be.

The MirrorSeal will retain its shape, but it no longer emits any magical energy. It is simply a mirrored husk—a reminder of when Mirrorspace had claim to your starseed. You may now destroy it, or keep it.

The purified Dark Mirror Senshi will remember their civilian and powered life, though like other side swaps, they will not remember a civilian's powered identity, nor will they be recognizable. Though they have all their memories, they must obtain a new civilian identity and begin life anew.

Quote:
A new method of Dark Mirror Purification is now Open!

More information can be found here in the Purification Information thread! We have also updated the thread with some more information for other side swaps, so if this is the sort of thing you are interested in, please check it out!

Youmaglia

Quote:
What are Youmaglia? What do they do?

Youmaglia are a very small, feral-type youma. These youma somewhat resemble crystalline carapace-laden house centipedes. They were first discovered by corrupting a starseed outside of the body, exceeding the chaos energy threshold, and then shattering the starseed into a youma. While not yet confirmed, it appears these youmaglia remain small due to lack of mass provided by the host for transformation. It has not yet been discovered if there are further iterations of these youma or uses for their unique abilities.

The name 'youmaglia' references neuroglia. Glial cells are named for their properties as the 'glue' of the nervous system. They offer protection and maintenance for the nervous system, and have some cursory effects on neurotransmission. Essentially, one cannot have a functioning nervous system without glial cells to surround, insulate, nourish, and protect neurons. And how does this relate to youmaglia? While youmaglia do not interfere with the abilities of neuroglia, they enforce a somewhat similar effect. Due to their house centipede resemblance, youmaglia house a surfeit of extremely long legs that are spread through the gyri (folds) of the brain. From there, they emit their own pervasive brand of chaos energy that will jar and reroute thoughts of the host. They become the ‘glue’ that binds the host to the Negaverse.

Ultimately, youmaglia are insectoid tools perfect for subduing subversive officers.

Effects of youmaglia are as follows:

• Initially, characters may find it more difficult to think ill of Metallia or the Negaverse. Considering means of assisting the enemy feels difficult as well. Players can write this out as a sudden hitch in the thought, a muddling that interferes with their thought process, or any number of ways.
• Characters may experience bolstered motivation to carry out Metallia’s whims, such as their energy draining quota. They may also feel an increased desire to attack any noted Order-aligned auric energies that cross their path.
• Conversely, this youma living in their brain requires energy to maintain its output, and will drain the energy of the officer to remain functioning. The creature continues to drain the host even after powering down, which in turn may motivate the character to spend more time powered.
• It is possible to starve out the youma, though it runs the risk of placing the character into a coma for a period of time.
• These youma can be administered as punishment for disobeying Negaverse creed or jeopardizing operations. It’s a more effective alternative to physically abusing, confining, or outright killing an officer (although these threats still hold precedent).
• Officers possessing this youmaglia are markedly more sensitive to Senshi and Knight magics. This is not an effect that can be circumvented - they are as weak to magic as an Ascended is to physical harm.

The youma maintains one peculiar advantage over other youma that peruse Destiny City - it lives within the body of the host. As a result, this youma enjoys an environment permeated with chaos energy much like the Rift. The youma can survive for extended periods outside of the Rift, provided that it receives an adequate energy supply from its host. The amount of energy required to maintain the youma depends on the rank of the officer as well as the stubbornness of the host - a particularly aloof and resistant individual will require a great deal of energy to subdue, especially if the character is a lieutenant, as the youma has little natural chaos influx to assist with the brainwashing process. This becomes a less energy-demanding task at captain, given that more chaos energy is readily available within the host. And at general, the drain of the creature is basically unnoticeable, as most of the job is taken over by chaos energy.

Additionally, if one receives this youmaglia at lieutenant stage and ranks up, there’s a marked decrease in the amount of energy required to brainwash the individual, as the youmagia has already spent a great deal of time augmenting the person’s brain waves. As each rank is achieved, the host can be reassessed for eligibility to remove the youmaglia and reinstate natural thinking and belief systems. Doing so will refute the weakness to Knight and Senshi magic, but may run the risk of readmitting the same devious thinking that warranted the use of a youma in the first place.

The purpose of youmaglia are to enable players to play their Negaverse characters in a different fashion without having to augment the character's core principles. They are intended to manipulate character thoughts or personality in a way that the owner wishes - the youmaglia's consistency or methods are left up to the player.

Who can use or know about youmaglia?

Currently, use of youmaglia is restricted to General-Sovereigns and SpecOps branch members of Captain's rank or higher. This information is carefully restricted due to the potential backlash from more straightforward officers who might frown on the practice. Knowledge concerning youmaglia is often hidden from the host - the implanting event enacts great trauma on the mind that often leaves the host entirely unaware of what transpired. There is a possibility for the host to remember fragmented feelings or flashes of recollection, but any attempts at further remembrance is promptly quashed by the youmaglia.

How are youmaglia administered? How are characters picked for receiving them?

Youmaglia can be introduced to the brain any number of ways, be it subcutaneously, through the ear canal, squeezed through a tear duct, up the nose... Any number of ways are viable so long as the youmaglia can reach the brain. The most common method used is through a vein, given the youmaglia is able to pass through the blood-brain barrier. They are pliable enough to reduce to fairly insignificant, lengthy sizes, which allows them to be administered through hypodermic needles.

They are most often administered in Negaspace where the procedure cannot be interrupted, but they can be administered anywhere. This does not preclude administering one within Destiny City.

Youmaglia are issued primarily to characters who rebel against orders outright or exhibit troubles in adjusting to Negaverse life. If the character struggles with empathy toward his enemies, a youmaglia may be issued to eliminate that empathy. If a character finds her orders abhorrent, adding a youmaglia will offer more compliance for those same orders. And if the character exhibits interest in purification, then there comes an urgent need to right their mindset with youmaglia. Any proposals concerning the use of youmaglia must be sent to the mule, alongside reasoning for executing this action. The use of these creatures can be undone in a variety of ways, but it's important to establish a good basis for why your character needs one of these brain centipedes in their life.

If I give my character a youmaglia, will that make them half-youma?

Not at all! Youmaglia function on a parasite/host basis, more than the symbiosis aspect of half-youma. No merge occurs when the youma is administered to the host, and both youma and officer remain individual from each other.

Are there outward signs that someone is infested with youmaglia?

Since the youma does not interfere with any bodily function, no. They might look exhausted, but that’s the extent of their outward effects.

Can corrupted senshi receive youmaglia? What about characters outside the Negaverse?

Corrupted senshi can receive these youma! As for anyone else, PM to find out!

What if my character purifies?

Youmaglia are designed to combat earnest attempts at purification, but if one still manages to purify, then the youmaglia will be dusted in the process.

Okay, I’m done with my youmaglia. How do I get rid of it?

The options come down to dusting them via magical attacks against the host, or having them removed by a Negaverse officer. Youmaglia do hamper the effectiveness of an officer, so there is precedent to remove them - all that remains is proving that the officer can be effective among their ranks without it.

Youmaglia have variable endurance when it comes to magical attacks - sometimes one attack by an eternal senshi is enough to dust one, while others can take several hits over the course of months before they finally give out. The perseverance of the youmaglia is left up to the player!

What if I have other questions about youmaglia?

PM the mule or post in the MQ&A and we will get back to you as soon as possible!

Hey, Moonshop!

We've got a few announcements we'd like to leave you in, so please let us borrow a moment of your time!

  • First, a rule about Wonder names! We know everyone is excited about the discoveries from the New Horizons probe, and while these discoveries have some awesome unofficial names, because these names are unofficial, they cannot be used as Wonders! Planetary features must be officially named by the IAU before they can be quested as Knight Wonders. Until the IAU has approved these names (or given the wonders alternate, official names), they cannot be quested for, sorry!

  • Our second announcement is a little better news--we know how much everyone loves solos, so we've got a little rule change regarding word count for both solos and roleplays!

We've taken into consideration some feedback we've had about our word count requirements! We'd like to update our solo word count requirements to be more mindful and accommodating to longer solos.

At present, a solo must be at least 450 words for it to count as one solo requirement and after hitting the 1000 word mark, you may count each additional 1000 words as an additional solo. i.e 450 words = 1 solo, 2000 words = 2 solos, etc.

This math doesn’t seem fair! You shouldn't be punished for writing longer solos, so with some careful deliberating we would like to change this rule to the below:

A solo story must be at least 500 words to count as one solo. For every additional 500 words you may count this as another solo requirement; i.e. 500 words = 1 solo, 1000 words = 2 solos, etc.

To keep things easy, this means we will also be raising the minimum word count requirement from 450 words per roleplay to 500 words per roleplay, so please keep this in mind!

The change to this rule will be in effect from today 10/11/2015. Any solos or roleplays started prior to this date still require only 450 words to be valid for growth, however all solos and roleplays started after this announcement will need to be a minimum of 500 per character to be applied towards that character's growth. If you have submitted a longer solo (greater than one thousand words), you may use our new system when claiming. For example, if you wrote a two thousand word solo last month, instead of using it to fill two solo requirements (as based on the old system), you may use the new wordcount system (where every 500 words counts as one solo requirement) and fill out four requirements. If you wrote a 490 word roleplay last month, you do not need to make any changes or edit it to increase wordcount; any roleplay or solo started before today requires only 450 words to count as a requirement.

We hope this change to the solo count will open up new opportunities for you to play your characters and reach your character's growth requirements! If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to direct them to either the MQ&A Thread or PM the mule!

And lastly! We have two staff related announcements.

  • Unfortunately, NovaCracker has resigned from our Moderator Staff, so if you need any assistance with staff related projects, please let another member of staff know! If she was providing crit on a profile, please contact another moderator or our shop mule and someone else will take over.

  • On a more positive note: our hiring thread has been incredibly out of date and hasn't been updated in some time; while hiring for moderators only opens at select times, we are always looking for more members to add to our artist staff! If you are interested in joining our team, either as a civilian or powered artist, we strongly encourage you to head over to the new Hiring thread and find out more about it! Alternately, even if you aren't interested in joining our staff you can head over there and participate in a promotional activity which can land you an extra crown token!

    Thank you guys so much!

Senshi Courts and Knight Brigades have been released!

Quote:
Courts -- The Gathering of Senshi

What is a Court?

A Court is the term of a gathering of Senshi that have come together. They generally have a mission, a purpose, or a goal that binds them together. It could be something as simple as being from the same planetary or star system, or it could be something more specific, like a shared ideal.

A Court is:

  • Made up of at least four Senshi. Only Senshi can join a Court, sorry! Each Court may also have one Guardian Cat, though!
  • Based around a group of people that are dedicated to one another, comrades-in-arms, etc. Your character cannot be a member of more than one Court at a time. There may be individual teams inside a Court and even outside but they do not have the same power benefits as a Court would.
  • Though Courts generally have a leader, the group may instead elect to run as equals. If a leader is selected, that character is eligible to summon a Captaincy Wand. If there is no leader in a Court, any member may summon the Court Wand.

What can a Court do?

Courts have benefits that no other senshi alone can achieve. Through their dedication to their goal or their shared bond with the other members of a Court they will be able to unlock the doors to a small cache of new powers.

  • Sailor Teleport! - Requires at least four senshi to perform but will take you to the planet of any senshi in the teleport without using up any of their Deep Space allowance. This can, however, only be done once per month. To do this, you simply hold hands and focus! This is currently limited to only Order Senshi and you cannot teleport anywhere without permission from the player, first!
  • Sailor Court Strike! - This is a large combo comprised of smaller combinations of senshi court members' attacks and requires, like all things, at least four Senshi court members to be used. In strength it mirrors the members activating it. One made up of all Eternal senshi will be stronger than one made up of all first-rank Senshi. Be warned though! This attack is incredibly high-energy. Using it is like waving a flag for exactly where you are and when used, weakens everyone involved so that they are all but sitting ducks for anyone who might retaliate. Use with caution. This is named after the Court itself: the attack will be [Court's name] Court Strike! You must get approval before using this!
  • Court Headquarters - Located on the moon, Court Headquarters are a study/gathering area that have suddenly appeared to meet the needs of the Court. These Headquarters may either be a new location adapted to meet the needs of the Court or may have belonged to the Court in the past. Only members of that Court may then enter this room. Sailor Teleportation may be used to come to this room if needed (and may be done outside of the moon phase limitations, with permission). Details about Court Headquarters may be worked out through PMs if you have any specific requests or questions!
  • Guardian Cat - Courts may have Guardian Cats that are attuned to their particular senshi much as Zue is attuned to his Zodiacs. If a cat is obtained after the Court is made, it may have a symbol representing the court on its forehead rather than the star that most cats have.
  • Captaincy Wands - A Court that is working together may also earn a Captaincy wand. It will typically be held and used by the leader of the Court, however in extreme situations other members may summon it and use it. If the Court does not have a designated leader, any member can summon it.

Quote:
Captaincy and Court Wands --

Captaincy and Court wands are special item that exists within Senshi Courts. There is only ever one for each Court and these are special awards that are unlocked by the entire group. A Captaincy Wand is an item usable only by the Court leader; if the Court does not have a designated leader, they will receive a Court Wand. These wands are identical in power; the only difference is who can summon them!

Just like other personalized items, a special plot is required, though this one should have something to do with the whole team and can demonstrate their functioning dynamic. For example it should show that the captain is effective, or that the team works together to get a job done. It does not mean you have to all be best friends, but it does have to demonstrate that you are making progress towards a collective that shares a goal and gets stuff done!

Captaincy wands, being directly link to the Court, will disappear and be unusable if the Court ever drops below four Senshi members, but will reappear if/when the Court is running again.

Captaincy wands will have several unique abilities, but someone is going to need to unlock them first…

OOC Information:

Before you get started with your Court, there are a few other things to know!

  • Your character may only be on one Court at a time but if a Court is not working for you (ICly or OOCly), or goes inactive, you may join a different one. If a Court at any point has less than four Senshi members, it is unable to use any of its perks until it once again has four or more members. While a player can have multiple characters in the same Court, there must be at least four different players involved for a Court to be valid.
  • Your character may only be the leader of one Court. If your Court members go inactive and you are the captain/leader of that Court, we encourage you to simply try and recruit more members. If you are absolutely unable to pick the Court back up again, please PM us and we can work with you.
  • Your character can continue to be involved on a team other than the Court. The Court is simply a way for like-minded Senshi to ally themselves for a greater goal. Their combined powers allow them more abilities than they would receive on their own,.
  • Knights cannot join a Court; because their powers come from a different source, they do not have access to the same abilities as combined Senshi would. However, members of a Brigade can still be in normal teams with Knights, Mauvians and other characters!
  • Even though some characters, such as Mauvians or Phenomenal Cosmic Powers, may have Senshi stages they can reach, because their powers are so different they cannot count as official Senshi Court members. They may be honorary members, though!
  • Teleport and headquarters are unlocked upon approval of a Court's founding, but other features (such as a Captaincy/Court Wand) must be unlocked through RP!
  • Senshi Court Strike is unlocked when you have done at least four roleplays, demonstrating your Court working towards their goal together. These must be RPs with at least four Court members in attendance, and cannot be one-on-one RPs. To unlock this, simply send a PM to the mule with links to the finished group RPs and the writeup for the attack you wish your court to execute. Because these attacks are very new, we may request changes based on attack as we have more time to see how they affect gameplay! Please note that the attack will always be the same; it does not lose or gain special properties based on which characters are performing it.
  • To use a Senshi Court Strike you must not only have the attack itself approved by the mule, but must apply to the mule every time you wish to use one. Think of a this attack as a plot device more than a battle perk; it is something used to help facilitate that goal of your Court!
  • Captaincy/Court wands may not appear on artwork, sorry! These items can only be summoned when at least four members of the Court are together!
  • Once you have four Senshi and have decided to form a Court, the group should send a formal declaration to the mule. The PM should use the following form:

    Quote:
Court Name: What does your Court call itself?
Leader*: (If there is no leader, please indicate this!)
Captaincy/Court Item:* Please specify if this is a Captaincy Wand for a Leader or the Court. While this item is referred to as a wand, as long as it keeps the basic in mind there is a lot of room for individualization! What does this item look like? What is your group going to do to earn it? (You will likely need a plot for this; please send one in along with this form if you want your Court to start earning its Captaincy item! If you do not yet have a plot or idea for Captaincy Item, just leave this part blank and PM the mule when you are ready!)
    Founding Members:
What brought this Court together/what are their goals?
Do you have any requests for their Headquarters? On the moon, all Courts have a special area only they can access; this is typically just a room with the necessities--tables to work on, places to sit, a good view of the moon. If you have anything special or important to your group that you want to try and include, please post that here!!

Until this is approved by staff, your team does not have the benefits of a Court—they are just a team!

Quote:
Brigades: The Gathering of Knights

What is a Brigade?

A Brigade is the term of a gathering of Knights that have come together. They generally have a mission, a purpose, or a goal that binds them together. It could be something as simple as having Wonders from the same planet, or it could be something more specific, like a shared ideal.

A Brigade is:

  • Made up of at least four Knights. Only Knights can join a Brigade, sorry!
  • Based around a group of people that are dedicated to one another, comrades-in-arms, etc. Your character cannot be a member of more than one Brigade at a time. There may be individual teams inside a Brigade and even outside but they do not have the same power benefits as a Brigade would.
  • Though Brigades generally have a leader, the group may instead elect to run as equals. If a leader is selected, that character is eligible to summon a Brigade Banner. If there is no leader in a Brigade, any member may summon the Brigade Banner.

What can a Brigade do?

Brigades have benefits that no other Knights alone can achieve. Through their dedication to their goal or their shared bond with the other members of a Brigade they will be able to unlock the doors to a small cache of new powers.

  • Brigade Teleport! - Requires at least four Knights to perform but will take you to the Wonder of any Knight in the teleport without using up any of their Deep Space allowance. This can, however, only be done once per month. To do this, you simply hold hands and focus! You must use your Brigade Teleport to access Headquarters in the Brigade Hall, and you cannot teleport anywhere without permission from the player, first!
  • Knight Brigade Strike! - This is a large combo comprised of smaller combinations of the Brigade members' attacks and requires, like all things, at least four Knights members to be used. In strength it mirrors the members activating it. One made up of all third stage Knights will be stronger than one made up of only first rank Pages. Be warned though! This attack is incredibly high-energy. Using it is like waving a flag for exactly where you are and when used, weakens everyone involved so that they are all but sitting ducks for anyone who might retaliate. Use with caution. This is named after the Brigade itself; the attack will be [Brigade's name] Brigade Strike! You must get approval before using this!
  • Brigade Headquarters - Brigade Headquarters are located in a mysterious hall that they cannot presently access. Headquarters are presently only a locked room that allows no entrance and no exit beyond teleportation. Brigade Headquarters are a study/gathering area that have suddenly appeared to meet the needs of the Brigade. These Headquarters may either be a new location adapted to meet the needs of the Brigade or may have belonged to the Brigade in the past. Only members of that Brigade may then enter this room. Brigade Teleportation may be used to come to this room if needed. Details about Brigade Headquarters may be worked out through PMs if you have any specific requests or questions!
  • Brigade Banners - A Brigade that is working together may also earn a Brigade Banner. It will typically be held and used by the leader of the Brigade, however in extreme situations other members may summon it and use it. If the Brigade does not have a designated leader, any member can summon it.

Quote:
Brigade Banners --

Brigade Banners are special item that exists within Knight Brigades. There is only ever one for each Brigade and these are special awards that are unlocked by the entire group. A Banner is an item usable only by the Brigade leader; if the Brigade does not have a designated leader, they will all be able to wield it.

Brigade Banners, being directly link to the Brigade, will disappear and be unusable if the Brigade ever drops below four Knight members, but will reappear if/when the Brigade is running again.

Brigade Banners will have several unique abilities, but someone is going to need to unlock them first…

OOC Information:

Before you get started with your Brigade, there are a few other things to know!

  • Your character may only be on one Brigade at a time but if a Brigade is not working for you (ICly or OOCly), or goes inactive, you may join a different one. If a Brigade at any point has less than four Knight members, it is unable to use any of its perks until it once again has four or more Knight members. While a player can have multiple characters in the same Brigade, there must be at least four different players involved for a Brigade to be valid.
  • Your character may only be the leader of one Brigade. If your Brigade members go inactive and you are the captain/leader of that Brigade, we encourage you to simply try and recruit more members. If you are absolutely unable to pick the Brigade back up again, please PM us and we can work with you.
  • Your character can continue to be involved on a team other than the Brigade. The Brigade is simply a way for like-minded Knights to ally themselves for a greater goal. Their combined powers allow them more abilities than they would receive on their own,.
  • Mauvians and Senshi cannot join a Brigade; because their powers come from a different source, they do not have access to the same abilities as combined Knights would. However, they can still be in normal teams with Knights!
  • Teleport and headquarters are unlocked upon approval of a Brigade's founding, but other features (such as a Captaincy/Brigade Wand) must be unlocked through RP!
  • Knight Brigade Strike is unlocked when you have done at least four roleplays, demonstrating your Brigade working towards their goal together. These must be RPs with at least four Brigade members in attendance, and cannot be one-on-one RPs.
  • To use a Knight Brigade Strike you must not only have the attack itself approved by the mule, but must apply to the mule every time you wish to use one. Think of a this attack as a plot device more than a battle perk; it is something used to help facilitate that goal of your Brigade!
  • Captaincy/Brigade wands may not appear on artwork, sorry! These items can only be summoned when at least four members of the Brigade are together!
  • Once you have four Knights and have decided to form a Brigade, the group should send a formal declaration to the mule. The PM should use the following form:

    Quote:
Court Name: What does your Brigade call itself?
Leader*: (If there is no leader, please indicate this!)
Captaincy/Brigade Item:* Please specify if this is a Captaincy Wand for a Leader or the Brigade. While this item is referred to as a wand, as long as it keeps the basic in mind there is a lot of room for individualization! What does this item look like? What is your group going to do to earn it? (You will likely need a plot for this; please send one in along with this form if you want your Brigade to start earning its Captaincy item! If you do not yet have a plot or idea for Captaincy Item, just leave this part blank and PM the mule when you are ready!)
    Founding Members:
What brought this Brigade together/what are their goals?
Do you have any requests for their Headquarters? Brigade headquarters are located in a mysterious hall. Presently, a Brigade's headquarters are a closed, locked room. They cannot see outside, nor can they leave the room, however the room has everything the Brigade may need. This generally includes tables to work on and places to sit, but may also include more specific things upon request!

Until this is approved by staff, your team does not have the benefits of a Brigade—they are just a team!

Hey, Everyone!

The Negaverse has been getting a lot of updates…between Queen Laurelite and three new General Sovereigns, but that's not all! It looks like there are going to be a lot more Agents joining the Negaverse…

If you participated in the Invasion of the Negaverse or any of the Negaverse specific ORPs, you can enter our free raffle!

But the Negaverse isn't the only one getting some updates…

With the end of the meta in sight, we thought now was a good time to roll out a lot of changes we've been working on! We've updated and added a lot more information to a lot of threads, making a few new ones, and are retiring a few older ones.

Because a lot of threads got a facelift, we've made a list of everything to try and make this as easy and comprehensible as possible:

    1) The old READ FIRST thread has been archived and replaced with a new, updated Read First thread; it should have information updated to match our current rules, information on schools and setting, growth requirements, full links out to the other important threads, and an FAQ drawn from some of our MQ&A questions.

    2) The Solos Disposable Thread has been archived due to a duplicate thread; we will be using the duplicate thread (Renamed [INFO] Disposable Characters) for all future disposable permissions. This thread will remain in the Information subforum! We have also changed the rules of using a disposable character; rather than just needing permissions in solos, we now ask that you request permission for use of a disposable in any roleplay. The method for approval will be simple, but we just need to keep tabs on how many disposables are being played!

    3) The Powered/Civilian Diaries subforums have been renamed to Powered/Civilian Journals. The Civilian Diaries Intro thread has been renamed '[INFO] Civilian Journals' and has been repurposed into a guide for setting up civilian diaries and what to when your civilian becomes powered. The DIARY TEMPLATE thread that used to be in the subforum was outdated and has been archived. To compliment the information on civilian journals, we have also set up '[INFO] Powered Journals' in the Powered Journals subforum.

    4) The '[INFO] ItNotM Quester Handbook and More! READ FIRST~' has been renamed [INFO] Questing Handbook and has been updated to include information from the three other information/suggestion threads previously in the Application Quest Subforum ([INFO] Knights: Things to Keep in Mind, [INFO] A Stamper's Guide to Profile Writing, and SUGGESTIONS/TIPS to creating a SENSHI/NEGAVERSE character), all of which have now been archived or moved to the OOC thread!. Additionally, it has been updated to include more information on each individual faction and a slightly updated quest form. We've added an FAQ to try and cover some of our more frequent questions. There's a lot to take in, but we hope that it'll help with all new quests!

    5) The stamping threads have been renamed: [QUEST] Stamping Thread (for ACQUIRED characters only!) and [QUEST] Stamping Thread (for NON-SLOT quests only!), and they have been updated to have more concise information!

    6) The [REVISE] Character Revision Central has been archived, so we will no longer be using that one! Instead, we have set up a new one, renamed [REVISIONS] Character Revision Thread. It has updated information and a modified form! If you have posted in the previous revisions thread, don't worry! We'll get to you soon! Please just use the new thread from now on!

    7) The PLEASE READ! PLOTTING FAQ has been archived and we've set up a new plotting thread title [INFO] Plotting. The new information thread has some tips on creating a plot thread, sending your plots into the mule for approval, and some information on plotting with the NPCs!

8 ) The Customs Procedure thread has received some updates; we've added some guidelines to working with your artists to help improve the customs procedure, and we're also working on updating with some more information on artist methods and preferences to help people pick the artist that best suits them! This thread will be getting future updates to better organize the templates, but we'll make an announcement when it gets this facelift!

    9) The Certing Info Thread! has been renamed Certing Information and Requests and has received a facelift and has been cleaned up a bit, but remains mostly unchanged!

    10) The Need an icon put/moved on the front page? POST HERE! has been archived and replaced with a newer thread: Front Page Icons Information and Requets. The new thread should be straightened up a bit and have cleaner information on how to post for a new icon!

    11) The Upgrade Requirements and Requests -- Templates and Upgrade Requirements and Requests -- Unique Art have been updated to give more accurate information and reflect the changes the shop has undergone over the years. They have been renamed [UPGRADE] Templated Art and [UPGRADE] Unique Art respectively!

    12) The [INFO] Faction Swapping: Corruption, Purification, and More! thread has been updated to provide some more information on what to expect when side swapping; we've included shop updates and added an FAQ!

    13) The [INFO] Destiny City: Guidebook has been updated to provide more information on how to create a player owned location to add to the guidebook, as well as give information on some of the shop owned background your characters can play in. This will be updated again at some time in the future to include some other locations!

    14) The OOC Thread has received an Information post: [INFO] OOC Chatter.

    15) The Rift subforum has been named Negaspace & The Rift. The previous Youma Approval Thread has been archived so we could create a new one with different organization. The new thread has been set up with more information to help create your youma, and we've also reserved some posts to catalogue existing, approved youma! Some other threads have been archived due to being obsolete: The Rift Q&A Thread!, Negaverse Power Info, and The Rift and Youma Information. The information has been pulled from those threads and plugged into the Negaverse Information Thread!

    16) The [FACTION] Negaverse has been massively updated to include all current information on the Faction; we have added links to every Negaverse thread that was not already there and have consolidated all relevant information into this one thread!

    17) The [INFO] Negaverse Training Guide (IC Information Guide) has received an update to reflect the current changes of the Negaverse!

18 ) The Negaverse Branch Roster -- Sign up here! has been updated to include some additional information on the branches. It has also been renamed [SIGN UP] Negaverse Branch Roster.

    19) We set up journals for some of the NPCs to make them a little more accessible; you can find these Stickied in the Powered Journals! Presently we have Cosmos, Laurelite, Lepidolite, Axinite, Hessonite, and Caedus!

    20) The Mini Event Subforum now has an Information Post—the [INFO] Mini Event Information and Archive. We will be updating this post to include summaries and links to all roleplays hosted during an event! We are still compiling roleplays from previous events, but you should see those posts slowly filling up in the near future!

We will have more thread updates in the future and are working on plugging all the MQ&A questions into the relevant information threads. There are some other things we still have to get to (like updating the Meta Summary and updating the front page), but we'll make an announcement when we get those released! We know this is probably going to look like a lot of information (and it is!) but we would like to ask that you please at least glance over these threads. The majority of things won't affect your general gameplay, but the 'Read First' thread is going to be important as it sets the precedent for the rest of the shop.

We'd like to take a moment to thank every member of this community for sharing their characters and creativity with us; this shop wouldn't be anything without everyone that works so hard to contribute to the game. The last part of the meta will close with the current Negaverse meeting, but we look forward to seeing where things go from there! Our artists did an amazing job with the NPCs and with creating so many Premades to boost a little more life into the Negaverse, so please give them a little extra thanks!

Additionally, if you are waiting on a response from the mule, thank you for your patience! We are working to push out replies and will try to get to you as soon as possible!

We do have one request: with all these new threads and overhauls, it is hugely possible that we missed updating links; if you happen to notice any links that take you to an archived thread, please let us know so we can correct it! Also, if you guys have any requests for other threads you'd like to see updated, it is highly possible it might already be on our list—but you are free to send in suggestions! We have a lot of ideas but we always like to hear more! We are also going to be picking out a few of our older threads (like event threads, or meta roleplays) and archiving them—or, in the case of event/meta roleplays, logging them in an easy to find location in case you ever want to read them again!

(If you've actually managed to read all the way down here, you're amazing!)

If you guys have any questions, please feel free to drop them off in the MQ&A or shoot the Mule a PM! To those of you waiting on it, the Negaverse ORP will be tagged later today!

Thanks so much for everything!

Hey, everyone!

We know that designing a character and sticking within uniform guidelines is easiest when you have all of the information in one place, so we’ve been working hard to review and update the information in the Customs Procedure thread! While most of the information we’ve added has been around for a while, we do have some new clarifications and changes, so before you plan your next character or upgrade, please check them out!

Any new characters or upgrades must follow these guidelines but existing art won't be affected; if you are in a position where you have an existing character and feel that there is no way to grow your character within these guidelines, please contact us so we can work with you. Extreme cases may be grandfathered in for upgrades, and all alternate powered art will be grandfathered in with the original design.

In the near future we will also be updating the Knight Swatches; we will make a separate announcement to direct everyone to these when they are ready! This update should offer more colors to choose from and we will have more information prepared in the near future!

The Moonshop Halloween Event has begun! We're doing some new things this year, so please head on over to the information thread to read all about it!

In addition to the Halloween event, we've also set up a new thread--the Growth Item Log! From now on to claim and use a Growth Item you will need to include the information in this thread, so please head on over there to read more about it!

Hey, Moonshop!

It's been a while so we'd like to give you guys an update on some of the things we've been working on and a few new announcements!

We've had some players wondering if bribes are going to happen any time soon, and the answer is--yes! Bribes will be held the first weekend of March. A future announcement will detail the exact opening and closing times, as well as all pertinent information about pr so please keep your eyes out for that!

A few of our information threads will be getting more updates in the future. These updates will not be large overhauls of new information but will mostly focus on collecting information from other threads and compiling them into one easy to access information base. To do this we will mostly be incorporating answers to questions asked through PMs or the MQ&A Thread. We will make another announcement when these updates are in place, but for the time being there are a few things that need to be addressed presently:

On a more serious, and somewhat less present matter, we'd like to also touch on changes to our greylisting/blacklisting system. We have been incredibly fortunate not to have to review or update this system in a long time. While we hope we don't need to use these methods, we want to make everyone aware of some changes to the system.

Greylisting will now no longer simply lock someone out of getting new art for a set time; players that are greylisted will not be able to participate in any roleplays started during the time they are greylisted. While they will be permitted to continue posting to existing roleplays, they will be temporarily banned from participating in any events or new roleplays. They will also not be permitted to post in the main thread until their greylisting ends.

Our hope is that no one will ever find themselves on the greylist--or worse, blacklist, but we'd like to remind players of some behavior that might be a fast pass for trouble:

  • Attacking another player or their characters or plots with the intent to hurt them or their feelings.
  • Making threats of harm to yourself or other members of the playerbase.
  • Harassing players or repeatedly targeting someone.
  • Breaking rules or ignoring warnings sent by staff.
  • Insensitive, inflammatory comments designed to rile or alarm others.

For minor infractions, staff is willing to issue warnings and discuss issues and concerns with players. Our goal is not to punish people, but to ensure that everyone participating in the community is doing so with the intent to have fun and not cause harm to others. If punishable behaviors persist after a warning, a greylisting will occur. If the behavior persists, greylisting will increase in time.

In the event of major offenses (such as deliberately hateful bullying, abuse, or physical threats or action taken against any person), the player may be greylisted for a minimum of one month, up to being blacklisted. Please note that we will always do as much research and secure as much evidence as possible before punishing someone, and we will speak to all players involved before making a decision to punish anyone. If a member of this community is participating in hateful behavior, such as the previously listed behaviors, staff will investigate regardless of platform. You may not use gaia, email, skype, AIM, etc. to harass or bully others.

This can all be avoided if players simply try to get along! We understand that sometimes there will be fights and players or friends will not agree on a subject. We respect that sometimes people need to fight to work out problems and hopefully reach a positive conclusion, however, there are boundaries that shouldn't be crossed. If there is a player you do not get along with, we strongly urge you to avoid them and any communication with them unless you are able to remain civil. Do not deliberately antagonize anyone, and do not try to ostracize or target people within the community.

Please remember that this shop is a game, and we are all here to have fun. We have so many absolutely amazing players and so many genuinely good people involved in our community, so let's all try to respect each other.

We have a few other reminders we'd like everyone to keep in mind:

  • Don't direct link to your artist's images; save to your own hosting site or use a website like imgur. Artists are not obligated to continue to host your images and you may risk losing your art if you don't save to your own account!
  • Use manners with your artists and each other. Please remember that artists spend hours of their time trying to do art for you, so the least you can do is say please and thank you to make sure they know that their work is appreciated!
  • When receiving new art, please make sure no major changes are being requested after the sketch stage; once you have approved a stage, the artist moves forward. If you need edits, please make sure to ask for them at the appropriate stage or your artist is not obligated to make the changes.
  • Please make sure that when providing references to art, you are not stealing or cosplaying someone else's original creation! It is okay to reference small parts of an existing concept, or to ask for things inspired by a specific piece / created with the same aesthetic feel, but you should not be using official art or fanart as the entirety of your character's uniform or outfit. Please also make sure that if you are using an adoptable you have purchased, you have permission to use that design on other platforms. Some adoptable artists have specific rules against using their design in any other manner and we want to make sure that no one is accidentally using a concept they don't have permission to use!
  • Please do not edit, trace, or draw the official shop templates in any way if you don't have permission to use them. The only people who should be doing any art on the templates are the shop's official artists or anyone applying to be an official shop artist. If you need to design an outfit or give reference, please use a different template or base. Many can be found online if you search for templates to draw on!

We know a lot of this is heavy and we hope future announcements will be more exciting; we are working on a few more things (including the next meta!) and are optimistic for what this year will bring!

On a final note, we've also had players who have inquired about our Emblem thread. Previously, this thread was player run and we had a staff member simply editing the post to update it, however we feel like it would be more beneficial if we were able to set it up in a more comprehensive way since the shop has grown since the original thread was created.

We will be archiving the current Emblem thread and have set up a new one here, so please use this one from now on! While staff will not be making emblems, you can still post your own and request other players' assistance if you are unable to make them yourself! We will be keeping the list of created emblems up to date and updating the list regularly!

We'd like to thank everyone for being a member of our community. Thank you for taking the time to read this, and thank you for making Moonshop what it is!

It seems like all that hard work into forming a Court has finally paid off...thanks to some dedicated senshi, the mysterious powers of the Court Wand have been revealed! This knowledge is curretly only known OOCly and to those who have earned their wand and experiment with it ICly, or to those who have been ICly informed!

OOCly, the following things have been revealed!

Captaincy wands have a concentrated power of light within them. Unlike the incredibly powerful Senshi Court Strike, this one is different and is not primarily used for battle. It is capable of producing a ray capable of stinging opponent, but it takes time to charge and is generally useless in terms of combat against a Negaverse Agent or other Member of Chaos. Against Youma, however...

The Captaincy Wands have the ability to either permanently destroy a youma, or purify special youma. This must be approved before anyone performs a successful purification, as not every youma can be healed. Special youma may include player controlled youma and half-youma. Attempting to purify a half-youma or full youma will end in failure if a fourth stage is not also participating! A Fourth Stage character cannot purify any youmified character on their own and require the magic of a Captaincy or Court Wand (or Knight Brigade Wand). If A Court attempts to purify a half-youma without a fourth stage, the purification will not work! If a powered character is youmified, this will also require a fourth stage's assistance to fully remove the Chaos.

Captaincy Wands also have the ability to help sustain someone whose starseed has been taken for a brief time. Other features may arise in the future!

Captaincy wands, being directly link to the Court, will disappear and be unuseable if the Court ever drops below four Senshi members, but will reappear if/when the Court is running again.

Quote:
What sort of plot should be done for a Court to unlock its Wand? Can a Court use their Wand's abilities as soon as they unlock it?
Any plot that shows the Court working together after their Court is founded can be used to unlock its wand. This might be as simple as doing plots to cement their bond or working together to complete a task (such as restoring Headquarters, learning about their Court's history, defeating an enemy, etc.) You simply have to show that the Court is still working together to earn their wand. They can use their Wand's abilities as soon as they unlock it! If you are attempting to purify a Half-Youma or youma, this will need Staff permission.

How will Courts know what their Wands can do?
Either through trial and error, instinct, or even memories!

What happens if a Court tries to purify a Half-Youma/Youma without a fourth stage?
Nothing; the Wand will react as it is trying to purify--and perhaps the skin on the youma might flicker to look more human--but without a fourth stage involved the Wand will eventually run out of power and need to recharge.

How long does it take for the Wand to recharge after a Half-Youma/Youmafication attempt (either successful or ending in failure?)
This can only be done once per month; it is incredibly draining for Court members, the Wand, and the Royal involved so it is not a solution to mainstream purification.

Does assisting in a Half-Youma/Youma purification prevent an Order Royal from doing any purifications for a month?
No; Royal characters can purify without any repercussions approximately once every two weeks (any more can result in physical fatigue and other possible side effects and will need mule approval), but the one-month cooldown is only between Half-Youma/Youma characters. They can purify any other character with no difficulties after two weeks of healing.

How many youma can the Wand permanently destroy?
The Wand can only destroy one youma of average strength per week. Because personal youmas are usually stronger, these would be more difficult to destroy ICly (and impossible to destroy OOCly without player permission). It could not destroy a Greater Youma.

How long can the Wand keep a starseed in stasis?
A starseed outside of the host can be preserved for 72 hours; a bubble will form from the Wand. Only one starseed can be bubbled at a time, and there must be at least 24 hours before the Wand is recharged enough to bubble another starseed.

Theoretically, could a Wand be used to purify a youma, destroy a youma, and bubble a starseed in the same week?
Yes; the cooldown times exist for each individual action, not all three. If there is a situation that would require a Court to do all three of these in a one week time period, it is possible, but would still need mule permission.

Do you need mule permission to permanently destroy a youma or put a starseed into stasis?
No; only purifying a youma or half-youma requires mule permission (as this is, in most cases, a side swap.) If you are permanently destroying an NPC youma you do not need permission, but you need player permission before destroying any over their personally designed youma (such as recurring youma they play, or Senshi their characters might be bonded to). Preserving a starseed for up to 72 hours does not need permission.

What do you need to submit to purify a PC Half-Youma/Youma?
There is a post detailing the information available in the side swap thread! This will be handled mostly like any other side-swap; the form will need to be filled out and a plot submitted to the mule.

Knight Brigades have the same abilities!

This must be approved before anyone performs a successful purification, as not every youma can be healed. Special youma may include player controlled youma and half-youma. Attempting to purify a half-youma or full youma will end in failure if a fourth stage is not also participating! A Fourth Stage character cannot purify any youmified character on their own and require the magic of a Brigade Banner (or Senshi Court Wand). If A Brigade attempts to purify a half-youma without a fourth stage, the purification will not work! If a powered character is youmafied, this will also require a fourth stage's assistance to fully remove the Chaos.

Brigade Banners also have the ability to help sustain someone whose starseed has been taken for a brief time. Other features may arise in the future!

This might be as simple as doing plots to cement their bond or working together to complete a task (such as restoring Headquarters, learning about their Brigade’s history, defeating an enemy, etc.) You simply have to show that the Brigade is still working together to earn their banner. They can use their banner’s abilities as soon as they unlock it! If you are attempting to purify a Half-Youma or youma, this will need Staff permission.

How will Brigades know what their Banners can do?
Either through trial and error, instinct, or even memories!

What happens if a Brigade tries to purify a Half-Youma/Youma without a fourth stage?
Nothing; the Banner will react as it is trying to purify--and perhaps the skin on the youma might flicker to look more human--but without a fourth stage involved the Banner will eventually run out of power and need to recharge.

How long does it take for the Banner to recharge after a Half-Youma/Youmafication attempt (either successful or ending in failure?)
This can only be done once per month; it is incredibly draining for Brigade members, the Banner, and the Royal involved so it is not a solution to mainstream purification.

How many youma can the Banner permanently destroy?
The Banner can only destroy one youma of average strength per week. Because personal youmas are usually stronger, these would be more difficult to destroy ICly (and impossible to destroy OOCly without player permission). It could not destroy a Greater Youma.

How long can the Banner keep a starseed in stasis?
A starseed outside of the host can be preserved for 72 hours; a bubble will form from the Banner. Only one starseed can be bubbled at a time, and there must be at least 24 hours before the Banner is recharged enough to bubble another starseed.

Theoretically, could a Banner be used to purify a youma, destroy a youma, and bubble a starseed in the same week?
Yes; the cooldown times exist for each individual action, not all three. If there is a situation that would require a Brigade to do all three of these in a one week time period, it is possible, but would still need mule permission.

This also means that youma and half youmafication purification is available!

Purifying Youmafication

With the introduction of Courts and Brigades, the power of the Court Wand and Brigade Banner has been revealed! Wands and Banners allow a Court or Brigade to combine their powers and channel it into a Youma or Half-Youma. A Court or Brigade must recruit a fourth stage Order character (either a Royal Knight or Royal Senshi) to assist in this as they cannot purify on their own. A Royal cannot purify a youma or half youma without a Court or Brigade, so this is a mutual performance. The purification itself must be willing; though youma cannot always communicate that they have interest in purifying, as long as they do not resist it the purification will be successful.

Youma or Half-Youma purification will revert the character to what they would be if they were never infected with Chaos; civilians turned into youma will return to civilians, and Corrupted Agents or Senshi will revert to their White Moon Self. There is no way to remove youmafication without completely removing all Chaos, so there is no way to reverse the youmafication process without side swapping!

Half-youma characters will lose half of their memories--either their 'civilian' life from before they became half-youma, or their powered life. They operate very closely to any other side swap, except to purify or remove their half-youma features they need a Court or Briagde to work with the Royal.

Youma characters are a different story and come in many variations; for PC characters that were youmafied, depending on the circumstances of their youmafication and if they are powered or unpowered. Powered characters who were youmafied (Regardless of alignment) will likely lose a large portion of all their memories--civilian, powered, or youma memories will all become fragmented and spotty upon purification. For civilians that were youmafied, they may also suffer from memory loss from their time as a civilian or a youma. These memories may remain spotty and some may recover over time, but characters who have been youmafied and then purified may always feel a state of disconnect. Regardless of if they are powered or unpowered characters at the time of their youmafication, once purified they will not remember powered identities or faction secrets.

THE FORM:

Quote:
1. What development has your character been going through that adds up to the possibility of a switch?

2. What events are going to lead up to the switch, and how does the switch itself happen? (Which Court/Brigade and Royal would be involved?)

3. What is your character going to be doing AFTER the switch? What do you see as their role in their new faction? (If they are a civilian, how will they reintegrate into life? Please remember that characters that started as a powered order character and were then corrupted into a youma or half youma youmafied will be considered double side swaps!)

4. What is the effect on their memories? Half-Youma will lose either civ or powered memories, full youma may lose some of each. (If your character was not half-youmafied or youmafied as a PC and started as a straight to youma/straight to half-youma, please also include their proposed backstory!)

FAQ Questions
Quote:
I have a straight to youma character. What sort of backstory can I give them if I want them to purify? Can they have been a Senshi or Knight?
Straight to youma characters will be handled on a case by case basis; generally they can have been unpowered civilians who were youmafied within the past five years or they can be powered characters that were youmafied almost immediately upon awakening, but can only have been a youma for the past year. You cannot reserve a name or sphere/wonder if you win a Straight-to-youma character; you can only say that they were powered (with staff approval). Please consider that your character cannot have a backstory that would give them an advantage to other characters who are freshly awakened!

If my character started as a Knight, was youmafied, and was then purified, does this count as a double side swap? What if my civilian was youmafied and then purified?
Yes, it counts as a double side swap for powered characters. As civilian characters do not have any ranks to lose, this does not count as a double side swap for them.

Can a civilian who was youmafied be purified and later become powered?
Yes; it is very possible that a civilian could be youmafied before they were ready to awaken and would only be able to awaken at some point in time after they were purified. A youma cannot awaken as a powered character, so the powered abilities of the starseed would remain dormant. If the civilian powered up after being purified, their starseed would be capable of reaching all three stages. They might be awakened for Order or Chaos.

This information can be found in the Senshi Faction Information thread, the Knight Faction Information thread, and the Side Swap thread! All Courts and Brigades are eligible to unlock these abilities through roleplay. If you have any questions, please direct them to the MQ&A or the mule!

The Negaverse has a few changes to announce!

Firstly, Communication Crystals are being phased out in favor of the new Tablets!

Negaverse Tablets are being implemented to replace the outdated Communication Crystals! These tablets have two forms; when not in use it will appear to be a thin silver rod approximately eight inches long. A purple crystal is embedded in one end. The pen has a button on the side that will allow an agent to speak into the pen like a microphone to record a message that can then be sent out as a distress message; this button also sends out the message with a GPS location.

The pen can be pulled apart into two halves, connected by a metal strip that will allow the halves to be pulled up to a foot apart. Once the two halves have been pulled apart, a holographic touch screen will appear. The tablets are charged by the tiny purple crystal; visits to the Negaverse can recharge the tablet in as little as three hours. The crystals will hold a charge of sixty hours of active use; if an agent cannot access Negaspace or needs a quick charge, gathered energy can be siphoned into the crystal to extend its life.

The tablet screen allows access to several applications, however access to them is dependent on a facial recognition scan. If the tablet detects the face of anyone other than a member of the Negaverse, it will immediately shut down. Current Applications include:

  • The Negaverse Database: This application links to the database outside of the Dark Kingdom however does not allow information to be uploaded like the computers in Negaspace. Information can be accessed from here but cannot be edited.

  • Messaging: A messaging system on the tablet allows the agent to record a message and send to anyone else in the Negaverse or type a message to be delivered to their account.

  • Camera: A camera that allows pictures or video to be taken; flash is optional. While it can capture sound, the microphone will only pick up noises within ten feet.

Every member of the Negaverse will be assigned a tablet and an account to sign on with it. If the tablet is damaged they need to take it to a Mauvian for repair. No one cannot access any tablet but their own.

But that’s not all! Chaos Mauvians now have a few new things to look forward to!

Chaos Mauvian Headquarters have been set up!

Quote:
Chaos Mauvian Headquarters

Within the Castle in Negaspace there is an area accessible only by Mauvians (and General Soverigns). A large metallic door with a black star in the middle is sealed using powerful technology; two security consoles are attached to the wall next to the door—one approximately four feet up and one a little lower than a foot from the ground. These double as a scanner and card swiper; to enter, they need to either swipe their card or allow the scanner to scan their star. While Mauvians may bring a guest with them, the guest must be in the Negaverse and can be evicted at any time at the cat’s will. A security system is in place to prevent anyone from entering without a General Sovereign or a Corrupted Mauvian. Any guest that is evicted will be immediately teleported outside the door; an agent cannot teleport in or out of the room even if they are welcome. These Headquarters are air conditioned and everything inside is powered by crystals.

Inside the Headquarters, Chaos Mauvians will have access to:

  • Several large computers, not unlike those in the computer lab. These, however, also have access to the Internet in addition to the Negaverse database. Their security features make them impossible to hack
  • Wifi
  • Workbenches and tools to work on their projects
  • Pillows, chairs, and tables that can be moved or adjusted to fit any Mauvians needs
  • A teleporter; this teleporter is a silver circle with crystals embedded in it. An identical teleporter is located in the Teacher’s Lounge at Romano’s and Mauvians can travel back and forth from Negaspace and Destiny City without needing to catch a ride with an agent. Only Mauvians can use these teleporters and they cannot bring a guest.

Additionally, Chaos Mauvians can now upgrade Corrupted Senshi! To do this they simply upgrade the Henshin pen and focus on the Senshi’s starseed to help them unlock more strength. While Corrupted Mauvians have the ability to do this, they must speak with a General Sovereign to get permission to do so. They can report to any General Sovereign to submit a report on the Senshi they feel is ready to upgrade; if the General Sovereign approves, they will be given a small Chaos crystal and can use it to siphon more Chaos into the Senshi’s starseed and upgrade their Henshin Pen. The crystals lose their charge after one use and it is impossible to acquire one without a General Sovereign. The Mauvian player can handwave a meeting with a General Sovereign or roleplay it out, depending on player needs!

The Mauvian Information thread will be updated to include the information released in this thread and will have a complete update after the Order Mauvian ORP concludes! We’ll release an announcement when this happens, so please keep your eyes peeled!

If you have any questions about any this, please feel free to ask in the MQ&A or PM the shop mule!
