Since this character class is brand new and there isn't much in the way of existing examples to go off of, here's a quick run-down on how to approach some of the characteristics unique to the Knight faction.
Naming:
Knights draw their powers from the wonders of planets they were sworn to guard. These can be...
- ...real natural landmarks on Earth or other planets,
...manmade cities and structures that are at least a thousand years old,
...or mythological places. Chances are the place is a myth on Earth because it's a real location on another planet.
Any place can be associated with any planet, but we ask that it makes sense in some way. Locations on Earth should probably be mostly reserved for Knights of Earth, but if you have a concept that works you can also assume that a place with the same name exists on the planet you want. A site of a famous battle wouldn't make much sense for Venus or Neptune, but it would for Mars.
Concepts and Designs:
Each planet has a certain theme, and a senshi who reaches the Princess stage can also have Knights with their own unique theme. You should consider the theme for each planet when considering your Knight's name and uniform, as well as their weapon and magical abilities: they should ideally relate or reflect in some way.
For example, Neptune's theme is 'music, grace and generosity,' and its costume basis is 'mythical sea and music.' Based off of this, an appropriate Knight of Neptune could have a harp or other instrument, and their magic could involve playing it and granting a small agility boost to allies who hear it.
*** The planetary sign of the knight should be featured on the knight in some way.
OCs can choose their symbol.
Cosmos' is the star that is in her brooch.
Also, there will be no capes on Pages or Squires!
The themes are listed below for quick reference:
Themes
- Mercury -- Technology and intelligence.
Venus -- Beauty, passion, love.
Earth -- Honor, virtue, nature.
Mars -- Judgement, war, spirit.
Jupiter -- Storms, weather, conflict.
Saturn -- Watchers, binders, death.
Uranus -- Air, speed, bravery.
Neptune -- Music, grace, generosity.
Pluto -- Time, solitude, patience.
Cosmos -- Eternity, rebirth, stars.
Uniform Basis
- Mercury -- Sci-fi, fur, the far North. Think “Ice Tron.”
Venus -- Venice, Baroque, Rococo.
Earth -- Celtic, medieval; the Shittenou and Endymion can also serve as references.
Mars -- Rome and Sparta.
Jupiter -- Vikings and weather.
Saturn -- Gothic culture and Victorian.
Uranus -- Arabic, desert, nomads.
Neptune -- Mythical sea and music. Think Atlantis, with a hint of ballroom dancer.
Pluto -- Steampunk hodgepoge. Different times and places clash in a style unique to Pluto.
Cosmos -- Elegant, non-combative, utopian; ethereal sparkles and prisms slashed with 1920's Mucha.
Weapons and Magic:
- Knight magic is USUALLY PASSIVE. This means that you're not going to see offensive magical attacks: instead, the magic you channel through your weapon is meant to give allies some sort of advantage or enemies a disadvantage. Think buffs, debuffs, and status effects as a general rule of thumb.
Knight magic is CHANNELED and COSTS ENERGY. Instead of time and usage limits like senshi attacks had, you can think of Knights as having a limited pool of energy to draw their magic from. A more powerful effect is going to take more energy and more concentration, and a proficient Knight is one who knows when to conserve their energy and when to use it.
As such, Knight magic has USAGE LIMITS: You should note a total amount of time that magic can be channeled for. If the effect is a quick stun or something else lasts a very short amount of time (ten seconds or less) when applied to a target, then you should note the total number of uses in the attack description.
Like Negaverse weapons, Knight weapons get ONE EXTRA EFFECT PER STAGE. At the third stage you can choose to give a big boost in power to the magic the weapon possesses at Squire stage, OR you can add an entirely new one. You also have a bigger energy pool as you level up, so your magic will become slightly more powerful in general with each stage.
Weapons CAN be used in self-defense! While they're primarily meant to be channeling media, it's perfectly alright if the weapon can also be used to block or deliver hits, so long as you don't get too over-the-top with it. You shouldn't be able to do much more physical damage with your weapon than you can with your fists or your feet, unless you tone down a bit on the magic power in exchange.

Stages
- Page -- e.g. “[name] Page”
The first and weakest stage of all knights -- the beginner. You have a relatively simple and weak version of your weapon without magic, and your uniform is the plainest of all. You are comparative in strength to a Lieutenant or a Senshi, and should probably not be taking on too much without companions of some kind.
Squire -- e.g. “[name] Squire”
It looks like you’ve successfully completed your training! Now you can feel the pleasant tingle of magic coursing through you, which you can now channel through your weapon. You’ve gained the strength of a Captain or Super senshi, and your uniform has gained a few extra bells and whistles, for your trouble.
Knight -- e.g. “[name] Knight”
The pinnacle of most in this faction, you’ve finally become a Knight in earnest and have developed a mastery of your magic and your weapon. Your status is denoted by decorations on your uniform such as insignia, important designs, and the tried-and-true cape. You are equal in power to an Eternal senshi or General of the Negaverse.
