- The following is the IC Information that all new members of the Negaverse will be expected to learn within the first two weeks of joining, either by awakening or corrupting into the Negaverse. This information is easily available on Negaverse Issued Tablets as well as on the computers in the Dark Kingdom's Castle. This information is recorded in Negaspace and known by higher-ranking officers who are expected to ensure their subordinates and new recruits know this information as soon as possible. It will reflect badly on any higher ranking officer if their subordinates do not know this basic information.
Players may handwave their characters learning this information, may roleplay learning the information from others, or can write that they were brought to Negaspace to read about it. This is not a complete guide to the Negaverse, but this is basic information that all members of the Negaverse are expected to know within the first two weeks. They may be ICly reprimanded or punished if it comes up that they do not know this information!
IC Negaverse Training Guide:
- What is the Negaverse?
- The Negaverse is an elite organization dedicated to protecting Earth from the dangerous and intrusive forces of the White Moon. The Negaverse will train and support all recruits to be effective in the war to save the planet and stop the invading White Moon army.
Who is the White Moon and why does the Negaverse fight them?
- The White Moon army is made up of Senshi and Knights, celestial warriors from other worlds who are under the misguided belief that they hold claim to Earth. They push their own beliefs and attempt to subdue and control all magical forces to their will. They believe that they are the only magical warriors who deserve to exist and they are constantly at war even with each other. They are trying to invade Earth and take its resources to other worlds. The White Moon is known to be deceptive and misleading. They are self-righteous and destructive and will leave Earth a broken husk if they are not stopped. They are abnormally located on Earth and need to be removed.
They will make excuses and claim ignorance, but they are not to be trusted. They are foreign aliens coming to Earth, believing themselves to be humans with Earth as their own home, but are fully unwelcome here. They must be eliminated and destroyed, or corrupted so that they are no longer a threat. While it is encouraged to learn information from Senshi and Knights, it is not encouraged to become friendly or otherwise fraternize with the enemy. It is not now, and has never been, encouraged to make friends with the enemy, unless there is evidence that they may be persuaded to corrupt willingly. Learn what you can from them, then kill them or corrupt them. Anything beyond that can be met with punishment.
Who is Metallia?
- Metallia is the embodiment of power and is the overarching ruler of the Negaverse. All power comes from her. She gives the Negaverse purpose and leads the organization from afar. While she is rarely seen, she has spoken to the officers in the past to help guide them in her goals. She is kept busy protecting Earth from external threats. She is always watching over the Negaverse.
Who is the Authority of the Negaverse?
- Queen Laurelite is the ruler of the Negaverse and speaks for Metallia. Queen Laurelite is loyal and wise and is the bridge between Metallia. Her word is law, and she oversees the General Sovereigns. General Sovereigns are the next highest ranking members of the Negaverse and should be obeyed without question. They have gone through great lengths to support the Negaverse and further Metallia’s cause.
What are the ranks of the Negaverse?
- The Negaverse is structured as a military organization and follows a strict hierarchy. The lowest ranking officers are Lieutenants and Basic Corrupted Senshi. While they have little authority, this is a training stage and they are expected to use this time to learn and improve themselves; they should follow all instructions from higher ranking officers.
When they are promoted, they become Captains and Corrupted Super Senshi. At this stage, they are granted more privileges, responsibilities, and authority over Lieutenants. They still report to their higher ups.
Generals and Eternal Corrupted Senshi watch over and command lower ranking officers. They have incredible power and can help shape the direction of the Negaverse.
General Sovereigns are incredibly powerful leaders within the Negaverse and help head the Branches. These General-Kings and Queens respond only to each other, Queen Laurelite, or Metallia.
What are youma?
- Youma are loyal servants of the Negaverse, though they do not get along with Corrupted Senshi or Mauvians. Negaverse Captains or higher ranking officers can command youma, and can even bond with one to help them further their goals. Feral youma are weaker youma, but they are plentiful and can carry out basic tasks. They can be sent into Destiny City to lure out the White Moon or gather energy. Humanoid youma are stronger and can be given more specific tasks. They are stronger and can help carry out calculated missions. Greater Youma are ancient youma and are very dangerous; you will know them by an immense energy signature. Corrupted Senshi and Mauvians are advised to avoid youma, as they can be hostile. Youma live in the Rift. Agents should never enter the Rift without doing adequate research. The Rift is full of youma, some of which may not respect intruders and may attack on sight.
How do awakenings and promotions work?
- Awakenings and promotions require raw energy to be pushed into the starseed. Only Generals and above may awaken a new Negaverse Officer into the Negaverse, and only General-Kings and Queens may promote an officer or bring in a Corrupted Senshi. A General Sovereign can promote a Corrupted Senshi, or approve and assist a Mauvian in doing so. Awakenings and promotions are not pleasant experiences, but the discomfort is worth the reward. The pain only comes from the starseed being opened to new power, and any discomfort is short-lived.
What are starseeds and why are collecting them and draining energy so important?
- All members of the Negaverse must drain energy to help strengthen the Negaverse and prepare and defend against enemy attacks. A member of the Negaverse can drain energy from civilians in what is typically a painless procedure. The Negaverse can take extra energy from the civilians, who will naturally recover. Lieutenants and Basic Corrupted Senshi have the highest quota for draining energy, because this is fairly easy to do while patrolling Destiny City. It is time consuming, but a good way to train and help the Negaverse when you are first starting out. The officer overseen a Lieutenant or Basic Senshi will specify how much energy they want them to collect.
The quota for gathering energy decreases as members of the Negaverse rank up, as higher ranked officers typically have a more specific focus within their Branch at that point in time. However, it is much easier for a General to drain energy.
Pulling a starseed is an equally important task, however not all officers are expected to do this if they don’t think they can manage it. A starseed is equivalent to someone’s life force, and the Negaverse needs this energy to keep the world safe and win this war. Pulling a starseed means that the target loses their life, but they are an honorable sacrifice. The most effective way to defeat a member of the White Moon is to pull their starseed, as this prevents them from being reborn to attack again.
How do I tell the difference between allies and enemies?
- Every magical warrior has a unique energy signature, or aura. It is almost impossible to differentiate and identify individual energy signatures, it is possible to identify which group someone belongs to by familiarizing yourself with their aura. As you meet more individuals of each group, you will become more aware of the differences in these power signatures. Those who follow Metallia and serve in the Negaverse will feel the most familiar, while those aligned with the White Moon will feel most foreign. Corrupted Senshi, Negaverse Agents, and Corrupted Mauvians all have unique energy signatures despite serving in the Negaverse. Not all soldiers are created equally, and as you become introduced to more allies and enemies, you will be better equipped to identify who you can trust and who you should fight. It is important to note that the stronger someone is, the stronger their aura, so be careful when approaching an aura that feels very powerful to you.
What are Negaverse Branches?
- Negaverse Branches are specialized divisions within the Negaverse; each Branch has a specific focus.
All new members begin in the General Operatives branch. General Operatives are the most common Negaverse officers, the main army of the Negaverse. Their primary focuses concern going on patrol to drain energy and combat any Senshi, Knight or otherwise Order threats that they may encounter. All new members receive basic training while in this Branch. Many officers choose to remain a General Operative for their time in the Negaverse, but some may wish to specialize their talents by focusing in the other divisions.
It is entirely optional to move to another Branch, and you will learn more about each Branch through experience and time spent in GenOps.
The Intelligence Branch primarily focuses on gathering information from the enemy and allies, and to manage and organize information learned by the Negaverse.
The Infiltration Branch primarily focuses on PR and uses their civilian status to make public connections to help strengthen the Negaverse.
The Special Operatives Branch primarily focuses on organized combat and may be tasked with completing or managing dangerous missions, ambushes, or raids.
Agents are not locked into a single Branch and may transfer as often as they have a reason to do so. All Branches work together.
What are Negaverse Tablets and what do they do?
- Negaverse Tablets are a key resource to accessing the Negaverse Database while not in the Dark Kingdom. You can access information, but you cannot update information from the Tablet. The Tablet is a special communication device that allows you to keep in contact with other powered officers while you are patrolling. You can send and receive messages, distress signals, and access useful apps, like notes, or video recording software. This device is safeguarded to shut down when in the presence of the White Moon, but be careful when you are on your Tablet.
What happens if a low-ranked officer disrespects a higher-ranked officer?
- Superiors have permission to penalize and punish their subordinates for stepping out of line. If a subordinate disrespects their superior, the superior is allowed to punish them in a way they view fitting. They are allowed to punish with physical pain, doubling quotas or duties, or give meaningless and futile tasks as punishment. The more severe the action is, the more severe the punishment may be. Typically Generals are the ones to distribute punishment, but there are situations where other lower ranking agents may as well.
General-Kings and Queens themselves, or even Metallia, may intervene if not already involved if the action warrants severe punishment, which may include a violent beating, demotion, and even execution. It is strongly encouraged to treat members of the Negaverse respectfully.
Metallia is sharing her power and gifts with the Negaverse, and using that power disrespectfully is insulting to the Negaverse and to her. You are being trusted to help bring in an honorable new age. Don’t let her down.
What is the Dark Mirror Court?
- The Dark Mirror Court are a group of Senshi who are not aligned with the White Moon. They are not necessarily enemies, but if they get in the way, the Negaverse will dispose of them. The Negaverse has a strained acceptance of the Dark Mirror Court. The Dark Mirror Court may be opposed to the White Moon, but they have their own goals and tactics that do not always align with the Negaverse’s. Negaverse Agents are encouraged to try to get along with the Dark Mirror Court to avoid needless conflict, but there are no punishments or repercussions if any member of the Negaverse needs to remove them. Unprompted, direct attacks are discouraged.
