This thread is out of date and archived. Please use the new thread located here to sign your character up! Any character logged in this thread has not automatically been moved over; players will need to post again in the new thread to update what branch their character is in as of 8/15/2021!

Branches of the Negaverse

To ensure each officer is operating at maximum efficiency, the Negaverse has divided into four major subdivisions. All members of the Negaverse work together, however each subdivision has a special focus to allow characters to hone an acute sense of skills.

The four subdivisions are:

General Operatives

Quote:
The main and default division of the Negaverse is the General Operatives [GenOps]. General Operatives are the most common Negaverse officers and are the main army of the Negaverse. Their primary focuses concern going on patrol to drain energy and combat any Senshi, Knight or otherwise Order threats that they may encounter. By default, any newly recruited Negaverse agent or Corrupted Senshi is a member of this division where they receive their most basic training. Many officers choose to remain a General Operative for their time in the Negaverse, but some may wish to specialize their talents by focusing in the other divisions. There is no shame in remaining in GenOps; choosing a further specialization is purely optional,

Key Responsibilities:

Because GenOps is not a specialized faction, it does not have any key focuses or responsibilities; new agents are expected to explore the other subdivisions and, if interested, apply to join them. This faction, the most malleable and well rounded, is expected to work with the other subdivisions.

Intelligence

Quote:
Used to both gather information on the enemy and on the members of their own faction, Intelligence Officers [IntOs] have the important task of learning as much as they can about the other factions, while keeping their information current. They are expected to be cunning, observant, charismatic, and to always keep their true mission in mind. Don’t think that they are above scrutiny, themselves; working with the enemy is extremely risky business and your own comrades are probably keeping close tabs on you to make sure you aren't getting too involved. Some more ambitious agents may turn their own in for punishment! One squad of the Special Operations branch manages court martial and discipline referrals for wayward IntOs.

These agents are most frequently on the field gathering information and updating records in the Negaverse Archives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Gathering information on important people and happenings of the forces of Order.
  • Speaking to White Moon Senshi and Knights and identifying major threats, and their weaknesses.
  • Organizing data, paperwork and files in the Negaverse file cabinets and updating the Negaverse Register on a special network of computers in Negaspace.
  • Reporting pertinent information to superior officers.
  • Quietly monitoring allied Negaverse agents and Dark Mirror Senshi for any signs of treason or weakness. They may work closely with the Special Operatives subdivision to submit someone for punishment.
  • Gathering information on civilians for recruitment potential. They may work closely with Infiltration Officers for potential candidates.

Infiltration

Quote:
Infiltration Officers [InfOs] usually have already made (or are in the process of making) civilian names for themselves in PR, and the invasion hasn't stopped there. The goal of the InfOs is to be everywhere. Your teacher, your newscaster, your mailman, your neighbor… All agents of the Negaverse. They recruit both young and old, from the children of politicians to Union Stewards. Their job is to influence, and to wait. When the time comes, the world’s peoples will unite against the invading senshi and their misguided knights. The InfOs are the foot-soldiers in this movement and may spend a significant amount of time as civilians to perform their duties to the Negaverse. While they are frequently looking for new candidates to join the Negaverse, they must also be prepared to spread the good word and justify the agency should the time come. These individuals should be incredibly witty, sociable, and capable of manipulating the masses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Obtaining and maintaining a position in civilian society that can be beneficial to the Negaverse, including but not limited to media, politics, law enforcement, education, and beyond.
  • Making contact and befriending people who may have some sort of influence or public authority.
  • Identifying possible recruits to be corrupted into the Negaverse, either for social placement or other skills.
  • Assisting new recruits in finding positions in society or maintaining what status they have, including helping side-swapped characters procure new identities and settle into their new lives.
  • Maintaining a positive image for the Negaverse in the civilian life and planting the seeds of doubt in the general public against the Senshi, Knights, and other 'Forces of Order'.

Special Operations

Quote:
Special Operatives [Specs] require, first and foremost, the willpower to do all that is necessary to secure—no matter how brutal and bloody that might be. These agents are extremely combat oriented and are trained to turn off their emotions to complete all tasks. They are battle hardened and undergo extreme training beyond normal combat measures; these agents are expected to be able to kill without sympathy. Their skills are not for use only on the battlefield; they are taught intense interrogation techniques. Being in this Branch requires a thick skin and an iron stomach; you will be asked to do things that aren't pretty or kind. These agents are expected to meet up with professional therapists to ensure mental health. There are rumors that Metallia favors these agents best due to their strong drive to eradicate the enemy, though this hasn't been confirmed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Battling Order-aligned Senshi and Knights who refuse to see the truth of Chaos.
  • Maintaining a body in peak fighting physique through rigorous training.
  • Train new recruits to be more skilled and adept in various forms of combat.
  • Targeting and eliminating threats to the Negaverse mission without hesitation.
  • Delivering punishment to assigned agents in response to insubordination or treason.

These branches do not exist to separate the Negaverse—instead, they exist to properly hone an agent's strongest skills and put them in a position where they are guaranteed to succeed. All four branches work together; while each division may specialize in something, every agent is expected to continue growing and learning. There is a lot of room for working together; for example, a new lieutenant, newly placed in the General Operatives branch, may have regular meetings with an Intelligence Officer for guidance and resources or to submit information for them, may meet with an Infiltration Officer for aid in advancing their civilian career in a way to benefit both them and the Negaverse, and may meet with a Special Operatives Officer for more intensive combat training.

Regardless of which faction they are in, all agents are still expected to:

  • Drain energy from the civilian populace to raise the power and capabilities of the Negaverse. While there is a dire need for starseeds, not all agents are requested to pull these. Only Agents prepared and willing to pull them are being asked to do so. New recruits are spared of these duties.
  • Patrolling the streets of Destiny City to search for enemy targets including Senshi and Knights, and dealing with them appropriately.
  • Planning and carrying out missions pertaining to energy draining, recruitment, or training of new officers.
  • Co-operating with other divisions and other agents as needed and serving as loyal foot soldiers of the Negaverse.

There is a General King or Queen assigned to oversee each branch:

General King Lepidolite oversees Infiltration, General King Axinite oversees Information, and General Queen Hessonite oversees Special Operatives. General Operatives has no General King to oversee, however any issues or questions can be raised to any of the other three Branch leaders. Generals in the GenOps are expected to properly guide new recruits and help them settle into the Negaverse and choose a branch (or choose to remain in GenOps!). Queen Laurelite handles any issues that the General Sovereigns cannot.

Now, for the big question – how do you know which subdivision you are in? When your character first joins the Negaverse they will be defaulted into the GenOps subfaction. As a player, you may then choose the subdivision most fitting for your character for them to choose when the time is right, evaluating factors such as their virtues, flaws, hobbies, history, and plots to determine this. A character who is very manipulative or intellectual would likely fit best as an IntO, while a character who is very physically capable and enjoys battle may fit best as a Spec, and a character largely concerned with great charisma and promising civilian life may fit best as an InfO. If you feel your character would do best remaining within GenOps, that is fine! As a GenOp they would be expected to help integrate and guide new recruits, as well as work with all other branches.

We ask that you fill out the form below to choose a subdivision to be kept in our records. We are very accommodating to any desires to change subdivisions later, so in the event that your character changes their mind feel free to fill out the form again. Please remember that all characters work with all subdivisions (and oftentimes missions will require experts from all branches to succeed), so while mobility is allowed it may not always be necessary.

Unsure where you belong? Playing for a bit is always the best way to determine where you belong; your character may take on unexpected plot patterns, so go ahead and play around! Try interacting with other agents of the Negaverse and see if anything sparks for your character or their development. If you are totally stuck, feel free to ask a roleplay moderator for additional guidance!

Once the form has been filled out and posted, you are welcome to roleplay your character as a part of that division! If you would like to switch divisions, however, please contact the shop mule, The Space Cauldron! These rarely need a plot, but characters who switch divisions too regularly may be called in for a meeting!

The Space Cauldron is presently maintaining this list, so if you notice any inaccuracies, please let us know so we can update the list!

If you don't sign up for a Branch, you will be automatically sorted into the General Operatives. If you would like for your character to move to a different branch, simply post in here where you'd actually like to be, and we can move you!

Negaverse Subdivison Assessment

Negaverse Name:: Captain Linarite
Civilian Name:: Lena Adler

Subdivision Requested:: Spec-Ops
Reasoning:: Because she has no civilian life there is no way that Lena could possibly do any good as an Infiltration officer. However due to the fact that she is a source of emotional pain for several Order members as well as being a highly-trained fighter she could work as both Intelligence or Spec-Ops. She was given to Howlite by Queen Beryl, so I think that is the best place for her.

Negaverse Subdivison Assessment

Negaverse Name:: General Howlite
Civilian Name:: Kess Reever

Subdivision Requested:: Special Operations
Reasoning:: Howlite is a soldier. She doesn't care about the enemy's motivations and has no role to play in politics and propaganda. She finds weaknesses and strengths and uses them to her advantage and is nothing if not a team player. Combat and tactical operations are her forte. Get in, get out, and do some damage while you're at it.

Negaverse Subdivison Assessment

Negaverse Name:: Captain Osumilite
Civilian Name:: Tag Swagger

Subdivision Requested:: Infiltration
Reasoning:: As a news reporter for WKDC, Channel 6 News, Tag Swagger has some sway on how the facts get reported - specifically facts regarding the publicly mysterious happenings in Destiny City caused by the Negaverse and Senshi. With this social position and inherited wealth, he is well established and well connected in the civilian life. Much of his work for the Negaverse is done as a civilian.

Negaverse Subdivison Assessment

Negaverse Name:: General Bismuthite
Civilian Name:: Billy Roadinger

Subdivision Requested:: Intelligence
Reasoning:: Bis at least likes to think he is the intelligent and cunning sort. And he is cunning, and observant, and critical. His personality makes this the best place for him, since he doesn't have the civilian reputation for infiltration, and though he would also do well in Specs, however it wouldn't work out ICly in the long run because of civilian life issues.

Negaverse Subdivison Assessment

Negaverse Name:: General Benitoite
Civilian Name:: Alexandre Evans

Subdivision Requested:: Intelligence
Reasoning:: Benitoite is the sort who is organized and likes to take down information, he has a notebook filled with information on those he's faced. He's the sort to notice weaknesses in others and seek to sort those out, for those who are allies, or make note of them for future reference, when they are an enemy. He'll try, if he sees an opening, to persuade a senshi or knight to the "darker" side of things sort to speak. He doesn't see himself as cunning but he does see himself as intelligent and observant. He'll help others, be it by boosting morale or training, because it helps the Negaverse as a whole (so dark mirror, corrupted, or negaverse doesn't matter to him). Point is, is he's loyal to the cause but simply doesn't have it in him to kill a chibi senshi, though he would like to kill one of those damn cats they have. And he doesn't have a name for himself to work with.

Negaverse Subdivison Assessment

Negaverse Name:: Xenotime
Civilian Name:: Porsha Webber

Subdivision Requested:: Spec-Ops
Reasoning:: Po is a brawler. A lot of her free time is spent at the gym, hammering her fists sharing a heavy bag or any fool willing to climb in the ring with her. She's been fighting since she was a preteen, and the rush of violence and adrenaline are extremely addictive. Having been given the gift of exceptional power and purpose, Porsha is extremely loyal to the negaverse. Any order is carried out promptly and efficiently. What ever needs doing, it well be done.

Negaverse Subdivison Assessment

Negaverse Name:: Realgar
Civilian Name:: Falco Marks

Subdivision Requested:: Spec-Ops
Reasoning:: Realgar is a dangerous guy to be around, he has a magazine rack of issues and his best idea of how to solve them so far is to hit other people frequently and with great force, regardless of the cost to his personal health. While this needs work, he's also clearly demonstrated he's not afraid to kill someone, pulling starseeds from two civilians on his first night out. He's rather blunt and angry to be gathering information, and the same traits would make him lousy for PR, but if he's anything, currently, he's a damned good soldier who currently seeks his sense of purpose in bruises, contusions and other peoples pain. As someone who has worked with a tight knit team in his civilian life, he does understand the importance of communication and trust to a smooth operation, even though he hasn't been part of an actual team until this point in his Negaverse career.

Negaverse Subdivison Assessment

Negaverse Name:: Lieutenant Halite
Civilian Name:: Hannah Williams

Subdivision Requested:: Infiltration
Reasoning:: Halite doesn't get her hands dirty and she surely doesn't do petty filing and intell work, that would just be ridiculous. She is upper class in society, works as a well-known makeup artist in Destiny City (recently hired on at WKDC, Channel 6 News to do the makeup of various anchors, Tag included), and comes from a family of wealth.

Negaverse Subdivison Assessment

Negaverse Name:: Captain Bazzite
Civilian Name:: Johnathan Miller

Subdivision Requested:: Intelligence
Reasoning:: Bazzite follows where his General leads.

That and Bazzite is a talker - he's very charismatic and charming and doesn't mind talking to anyone with an ear willing to listen. He couldn't harm a chibi or a cat, but he'd be more than willing to listen to their problems or flit around Destiny City to gather information. He'd even skulk around in the dark like a spy just to pick out important tidbits to bring back to Benitoite. Such is the life of a good and loyal little ninja.

Negaverse Subdivison Assessment

Negaverse Name:: Lieutenant Natron
Civilian Name:: Gabriel Blake

Subdivision Requested:: Intelligence
Reasoning:: Natron lacks the social standing for Infiltration and the battle savvy for Spec-Ops, but (when he's not accidentally provoking people) he can be remarkably genial and friendly, and is fully willing to talk with Order members. The closest he comes to "civilian influence" is with the conspiracy crowd, so he'd be mostly useless for infiltration, and he's not quite cut out emotionally to being in SpecOps.

Negaverse Subdivison Assessment

Negaverse Name:: General Painite
Civilian Name:: Gently Ponsonby

Subdivision Requested:: Spec-Ops
Reasoning:: She would rather cause pain than be a shadow. She has a position on the paper, but does not want to focus on her civilian life. She wants to be a threat, and this is as close as she can get.

Negaverse Subdivison Assessment

Negaverse Name + Rank:: Captain Jarosite
Civilian Name:: Merric Hollingr

Subdivision Requested:: Spec-Ops
Reasoning:: Jarosite believes that the reason that the death of 'Odette Matthews' (the former civilian idenity of Corrupted Eternal Sailor Albireo) was do to something having to do with White Mooner magic. As such, he abhors the senshi, and wants to show his... appreciation for what they did. That, and he's much better at fighting than talking.

Negaverse Subdivison Assessment

Negaverse Name + Rank:: Sailor Azurite
Civilian Name:: Bernadette St. Williams

Subdivision Requested:: Intelligence
Reasoning:: Because she is a senshi she would probably be approached more readily by other senshi than a Negaverse officer, making her an excellent way to get information. However she is loyally sworn to the Negaverse, specifically Zinkenite, which means she would serve him most ably.

Negaverse Subdivison Assessment

Negaverse Name + Rank:: Lieutenant Pectolite
Civilian Name:: Blake Allison

Subdivision Requested:: Infiltration
Reasoning:: Pectolite is generally useless however he is incredibly friendly. Perhaps too friendly at times but with his girlfriend being his captain, getting feely with the new girl officers won't really be a problem. He's used to being on a team, great at making someone feel welcome, and is more than willing to find someone a place to crash if they need it in the interim.
