Info:
Personality Type: INFJ-A (Advocate) rarest for males
Voice: Bass
Voice Actors: Geoff Castelluci &/ Travis Willingham (your welcome)

The eldest son of the big scary looking beast tamer Kiyelt and the beast charmer specialist in healing animals; Ninaleth.

Thallassa has two twin sisters; Honi and Nykinae. Ushi and Einsol were the result of his parent's second pregnancy and Tethys and Kynin were each the single babies from two further pregnancies. He is allowed to bug and pester his siblings, but no one else better make them sad or mad or they will deal with a very honed older brother who does not mind putting in a proper fight for their honor.

Thallassa is confidence itself. He likes adventure and swimming and catching fish. He also likes to assist his Dad with the smaller beasts. He wants nothing to do with the animal doctor aspect of his Mother's work, too much stress nope!

Overall he gives off happy and relaxed vibes.

He likes going to Oba but he feels it needs a good river or too, a bit dry and hot.

Thallassa crawled from the waves to a deserted beach, moaning with joy at touching the land. He hadn't been sure if he would ever touch it again an hour ago. Now he was marooned with just the wreckage of his boat and thankfully a survival kit on his back. His dad taught him to pack well for just such a situation. After scouting most of his new patch of dirt, he set up camp, including a large signal fire. His dad would find him soon enough, his mother knew the local waters very well. Rescue would come, but what gifts might this new island hold.

Lastly, he checked out the dense thicket at the center of the island. There was a rustling emanating from the thicket and he knew that there was something in there. He got a sudden urge captured during whatever creature was there would show his family who was ready to accept the mantle of Beast charmer. He wasn't sure what the creature was yet, could be anything from the size of the thicket, a growl drifted out of the bush, giving both the location and species away; snaptrotter.

This would be the perfect animal. He scampered off, and managed to catch a medium sized bird to use as bait. He strung his rope up in a tree and tied it off before setting his trap, adjusting the height fixed the thing up perfectly. Just like his father told him; snares were a great way to capture snap trotters. He thought that his father would be super proud. He hid himself up in the tree and resigned himself to being very still for a long time, which was extra hard because by now he was quite hungry.

Finally he heard the telltale snap, he pulled the hard on the rope and caught the snapptrotter neatly around the upper jaw. This was not quite as good as both jaws, but at least it was a sure grip with the rope threading the rather large teeth. The beast was a beautiful murky green perfect for camouflage with a thick black top line forming a rhombus on the creature's forehead. Yes, he might even keep the magnificent one for himself. Thallassa circled around the beast and managed to pounce on him from behind and properly secured his mouth. Next came hours of desensitization and direct feeding of them both. Thallassa was completely wrung out but he had managed to get the beast to at least follow him around. After that, he collected clams and ate a lot. Help would be here soon. In the meantime, he would work on his new snap trotters ground manners, he decided to name the beast Myr. Well, he guessed that was it, he was destined to be a Beast Master.

Class Quest

He had worked for his father for months on the snaptrotter he now confidently rode. He had earned the beast's trust and now reaped the rewards. His father had finally entrusted him with a mission. He was to capture some animals back from smugglers, his dad had gotten the info from a reliable source. He was the only one still is small enough to pull off sneaking in and out. Kiyelt really hated poachers and Thallassa respected him for fighting for what he believed in.

He also knew his father would be incredibly worried about him all alone on this mission, but more than one person would be harder to hide. He picked up the trail of the smugglers and settled in for a long boring ride while he caught up with his quarry, his butt was going to get sore. This was a monumental step his father wouldn't just send anyone on a mission like this. This shipment could be anything. He caught up to the poachers a couple hours after dark, relying on Myr's sensitive nose to lead him for the final bit. All of his senses were on high alert as he waited for the lot to fall asleep. He was quite patient. The mission was greatly dependent on perfect stealth.
He was the ideal member to perform stakeouts. Once no noise had emanated from the camp for a while he slipped between the deep shadows and crept quietly down to the big box that was left a little separate from the main load.

That would have to be the live animal shipment he reasoned as he crept close enough to crack the lid. Peeking in he spotted writhing bodes. A box of snakes, cool! They were very valuable jeweled keldari, highest quality too judging on the care care taken with them. Slowly using the fluid movements his Mother had taught him,he coaxed the keldari into fabric bags.

Thankfully the serpents didn't seem to mind being handled. Could have been a little different, more of a problem. One by one, he fitted snakes into bags, he was forced to leave behind one or two of the snakes because they heard a suspicious sound. He retreated quickly away from the scene on padded feet, sure enough the next noisy herd with someone's swearing. They must have tripped on something. he packed the snakes he had saved on his father's janarim. Sometimes less is more. He smiled himself. They were all snug in their saddlebags soon enough. He had really done it, he had saved as many snakes as possible and so far he was successful. He mounted up, heading away, once they were out of earshot he kicked Sky up to a trot. Keen on getting as much distance between themselves and the smugglers as possible.

He made many twist back and loops on the journey home just in case he was followed. As he rode he decided he would keep one of the things for himself as a congratulatory present. He was sure his father would agree since they would be looking to rehome as many keldaris as soon as possible. Myr for his part didn't overly care that he carried them.Thallassa wondered if it was because they were both reptiles.

Reaching home early in the morning, he settled all the snakes in a special place built for the purpose in the barn. There were drop walls and rodents would be devoured if they fell, the hay was stacked in the middle of the drop floor. It was a rather ingenious design that worked well for them. The Keldari were all friendly as they were being sold for the pet trade.
After he ate a large hearty meal. This was the first time that he had been given the chance to really make a difference and it had been a success. He was deligthed and excited for the new things to come.

Blurb:

Thallassa had to prove to himself that he was good enough for the family legacy as he had some doubts at first. Completing a high risk mission taught him to trust his instincts, the most valuable tool for a beast charmer just starting out. His father knew he could do it all along. Thallassa will grow in confidence as he ages.

Growth Blurb: Thallassa continues to be an essential cog in his families dynamics, made all the more interesting now by adding to it in a less than conventional way. He is adjusting to being a new dad and taking to it like a duck to water. He has come into his own as a considerate level headed person who defends the weak and puts up with the nuts in the family as well. He comes into friendly competition with his younger brother Ushi.
He likes to help the younger people in his family get their feet wet hunting and it remains a great hobby for him that suits the ranch life where many of the animals are predatory, meat is always welcome.
He is well balanced and well adjusted and gaining in confidence in leaps and bounds yet still remains a bit naiive around more shrewd people.
He is always up for taming missions too, to help out those who want pets in his family or when new beasts are needed for the business end of things. He does a lot of the work on the ranch to help out his aging father and his mother.

It pained him that this letter was necessary, but it had been too long since Elaxi's disappearance and he would do everything to ensure that his brother's child was found.

Viltre

I'm not sure where to begin as I write this to you, but my niece has been abducted. She has been gone too many moons and we have as yet been unable to locate her. Things are getting desperate. I want to cover all my bases. We will continue to search or we will need to expand our network if you would assist us with your help and skill we would be grateful.
Enclosed is a sketch and description.
Terrwyn has since recovered handily and is enjoying her time with the triplets. I fall more and more in love with her each day.

Sincerely Thallassa

He knew he was not the best ay letter writing. He was better at delivering them. Ushi was better at the letter writing. He lit a candle as the light was fading. He was cozy in the ranch office. It smelled comfortingly of leather, paper and hay. He hoped that his niece was at least comfortable. It was the worst feeling not to know what had happened to her. She was not firey strong like her sister. The kidnappers would have sent Kechiri back with a bow tied around her neck, no doubt. But they had captured gentle Elaxi instead.

He folded the piece of paper up and then held it to his chest and said a quick prayer to the gods before sending one of his father's will train messenger birds off.

He should have written more but well, who knew if the letter would get to his brother in law without being intercepted, so he didn't want to write too much either. The whole situation was insufferable. He blew the candle out and went to go find Terrwyn and his sons. She was his comfort and they his joy. The triplets were growing up strong and strangely synchronized. Which could be off putting for those that were outside of their family. To him it meant that they were less vulnerable. Besides it reminded him of the feral twins.

Limited Bloodlines

He brought the soothing tea, still steaming to his lips, he inhaled the floral, slightly sweet flavor. It was a tea his mother sourced from Jauhar. It was rare and delicious. He sighed. He missed her. He had been on the road for days. Partly it was business. Dad had been keen in some limited breeding lines that after 15 years, had suddenly come on the market. Thus, Thal had volunteered to go and save his somewhat elderly father a very long trip.

Besides, with him and mom guarding the ranch, he needn't worry about Terrwyn or the boys. It had been many years since the day Terr was delivered to him along with his three newborn sons, they had been incredibly small, little fingers and little toes. He remembered the solid blanketed weight of each of them and the paleness of the woman he loved.

Their initial romance had been unconventional, but he had fallen quickly. How could he not? She was a fiery, amazing woman. She was brave and rebellious and a wicked shot with her bow. Terr and Raolvar cleaned the rest of them out during the regular archery tournaments. He smiled remembering the events, with pride. He took a bigger gulp of tea right there in the adventure camp. And remembered when he did this. He imagined them all there with him, ranged about the fire, laughing and teasing. He wanted to be home, but his path would always take him back. He opened his eyes to see Zyr watching him.

The young snaptrotter was an excellent companion, just like his dad, but with 5% less Sass and improvement, thou smiled, wiped a tear from his eye, I will be okay, just to make it her homesickness, he burbled and his tea amusing himself and his snaptrotter, the fire crackled and the stars swung and their ancient dance crossed the sky. Time passed. He finished his tea, doused the fire and then crawled into the tent. Tomorrow was another full day of travel. He was, however, getting close.

He went slower because Zyr was still young. Mir had been an option, but he was still standing out stud and had to remain at the ranch. It was a good experience for the young bull. Mir would retire with accolades one day, and zir would inherit that foul full time. Either way, he was in good hands. He figured mir would split his retirement between Tewrrwyn, whom he adored, and the beach his other love. The breeding program had been a screaming success, but eventually they would have to rotate him out, least they saturate the genetics. Hence his mission, there was a place in far Matori closer to the border, that had fine breeding stock, but his secondary goal was to find a gift for his mother. She kept the whole ranch running smoothly, and he wanted to spoil her very much. He loved being around her. She had a caring and beautiful spirit. Kind of reminded him of someone. He smirked. Moving on, he found this was what he did out here, think, contemplate, and remember, he had a lot to be grateful for. He missed them and wished he was home instead. But he always got the job done and then he could go home.

In the meantime, he purposely enjoyed it, the silence, the beauty, the stillness of the wild, no social obligations, no need to talk. He was supposed they could have done this by ship. But what was the fun in that if he was going to give the missus a break, he was going to give her a real one. Besides, it was much easier to bump into cool critters on land. They hadn't seen much this trip. Maybe the herring were spawning and everything was at the coast. Pity, hopefully they would see more. He would never oppose to solid wild caught critter. Besides, Zyr had caught up. It was time for a new project. There had to be something crawling around out here to take his mind off his family. As they traveled, he noticed the exceptional, exceptional fruit at the small village markets. He decided to treat himself.

He steered Zyr close here and began to pluck fruit high on the stands. He tossed coins to the cellar, who caught them handily. Thou was having fun. Zyr was patient, even though he had no love of fruit, preferring the things that ate the fruit. It brought to mind the story that his mother and the Snapdragon, the monkey and the snaptrotter, a family classic. Although he rather thought it had failed to teach them not to trust fanged things. It was nearly a family joke. He was in the best fruit growing region, though you could grow fruit anywhere in Matori. Conditions here were particularly good. He brought fat brown kiwis, he liked their tangy, sweet flavor, raspberry oranges, vitamin C, good flavor, good texture, more beneficial red pigments, mango, blueberries and apples. He would make a fruit platter, and he would grill whatever meat they caught. He would be a feast to remember.

He would let Zyr have some good evening fishing. He looked forward to it. Evenings were often still warm, good for chatter and quiet contemplation, like he moved on as all things must. The road long and lonely stretched out before them. He was happy to have anchors that brought him home. The road could be a somewhat fickle mistress. Might try to lead him to new places. Alaska could no longer make a bid on his heart. He patted zirs neck. Don't worry, boy. He wiped a tear. We are almost home. Just got to finish this, huh? He patted the thick neck. Zero was a rich horse green, and like his sire, is murky, muddy green. He was a fiery young beast, and honestly, a lot easier to get along with. Must be the mother's side. He thought zero was quickly bonding, being hatched, not tames probably helped quite a bit. In this particular case, mere would always be his first love, but Zyr might be deeper, somehow, in a way that thou hadn't contemplated before, a once in lifetime bond, maybe.

What would it be possible to do in the training ring in practice? What kind of absolute unit could they become? He was more than willing to find out, but also felt zero need to rush into any form rushing. Would only rush the magic and run it no allowed. Step by step, they would learn how to work together as a team. It had already gone rather well. The critter was holding up real well under a solid salad saddle and barely fussing for being so young and green broke. There was the odd Sass here and there, usually due to grouse or pheasant startling them. But that was to be understood. He was sure Tony would have loved to see the last scene so she could paint it snap Trotter and pheasant one way his flying arse the other way. He had sailed so gracefully into the unforgiving ground.

He had gross that night for dinner, though it was only fair and a kindness to other riders that need not see the horrors that he had, they were bloody tasty Bush chickens too. He must be in the Seral berries that gave them the sweet, almost floral flavor. It happened to go rather well with the fruit which he was in camp. Fire blazing away as he watched here, fish in the bay. Life didn't get much more picturesque than this. He should know he had traveled quite a bit except Bell Ria, a few of the places in Kahikinia, he didn't see the need to set foot on an airship. No, thank you.

He made more tea, this time, a stout black that was the flavor he craved at the moment, a true classic black tea was the backbone of tea, rich, delicious with a lot of caffeine, excellent in loose leaf form. His mother had a vast tea collection, and he enjoyed adding to it. From his travels, tea brought the family together. Tea soothed and he, most of all the others, got rather excitable when they drink coffee. They drink coffee in the morning and had tea time in the afternoon. He adored tea time, and it's togetherness. There wasn't much like it, besides campfire cooking, the rest of the journey went really well. He had made it fun, and so they arrived in what seemed like no time at all. He found it in and set them up the scale scalded crabs. Claim to fame was their rich seafood chowder. Signs were posted everywhere. He ordered himself a bowl and asked that Zyr be served sore as well.

It would be good for his bones and give the young beast an energy boost, even he was tired of his own stew. Anything could happen. He supposed Tara would be laughing at him, were she here after the excellent chowder, he went to the cellar and was shown the stalk. A storm was moving in. Happily it cooled the air Sun, which cleared his head, making the selection progress the best time, a breeze blew through, and the snap trotters in the barn be stirred themselves. One fellow was exceptionally active and curious to all made note of the healthy hide and bright eye is always rolling the beach the bird. Oh yeah, that one for sure. It was a barn. He was taken to a different pen and shown a group from a different stud. None stood out to him, so he asked for the next pen. It wasn't art, and he intended to do it justice. The next pen held a stunning demure, apparently an intelligent creature. He chose that as the other animal. He paid the fellow and sealed it with a handshake. All settled, he led the critters to the Inn. Tomorrow, they would rise before sun and be heading for home at dawn.

As he had been the one to bring them home, he was technically the owner of the two new studs that would take over Myr's position in breeding. So far, the travel was going rather well. All three beasts putting length in their stride. They made excellent time with no more than the expected drama between three unrelated bulls. At least there was no female that made things a lot easier. He was having a great time, and he was heading home for the better. Late in the day, around lunch, he stumbled upon a hidden gem of a sushi restaurant.

Oh yeah, he was hungry, and the critters could use a rest time to eat. He slid off his ear, then slid his pack off. He stopped strip the snap trotters of all but their ID collars off you go have a swim and catch some fish for me. Hey. He wondered, as he sat down with the menu, which town this place got its ingredients from. It was a likely day for a market. It would be nice to stock up on the travel supplies and such.

First, though, sushi and lots of it from the amount of customers. This was a good place, and he brought a man sized travel app with him. Poor place. Wouldn't know what hit it, but man, he was going to have a hecking blast, a boat full of sushi and a long rest under a palm tree later, and he was ready to go with a new core memory.

He found a market without too much trouble, and brought some dried mango and jerky nuts, too good travel food, and he came across something he was not expecting, and now he lay coiled and miserable, looking in in large jar with a cork for fresh air, a young creature did not an excuse make. He supposed some people would have tanked big enough or lived by the sea. He felt so bad for it that he bought it and loaded it on a snap Trotter, which he then sent to the water. It would refresh the water in the jar and keep the nahii cooler, with the added benefit of a happy snaptrotter, thou would find a place for it at the ranch. He always did. A lady stopped him when he went to leave the market and gave him honey and rhubarb. Then she muttered, "Thank you for that. I was going to do it myself at the end of the day, poor thing is too pretty to be all cooped up like that."

She tutted, patted his cheek like he with her son and tried it off. What a lovely lady. They were cool pets, but it was rather warm day for one to be out of the main sea waters. Right before he left, someone set up with eggs for sale. He could boil them, and it was used as a round snack.. Perfect. He bought a carton and add it to his bag. It would be good eating for a day or two. He was looking forward to that it was hard for someone his size to get enough protein to maintain his bulk. Oh, well. Eggs were a delicious solution. Besides, he liked them fried too. No better way to start the day. Upon reaching an area to camp, he waited for his snap Trotter to return. What he didn't expect was for the 3 boys to bring three boys to bring back a date. He heard them before he saw them galumphing through the sand in paroxysms of joy. The three boys hauled up before him, one still carrying the no doubt, refreshed but irritated Nahii.

He pushed the playful brutes out of the way to reveal a shy lass who was not at all sure about him. She was lying with a ah. Bright green dorsal stripe, no collar, no ID, and a wild looking nature that convinced him she was from a wild population and thus fair game as adults, they, uh, discussed it. He was about pinned her, but he had earned a scar over his eye for it.

Anyway, she had a bloody collar on now, so she had a home. He would win her over more slowly. Now, poor thing wasn't too old and had run into a snap Trotter specialist. What else would she do but follow him? He was doubly fortunate the next morning, as the four of them stumbled across a fresh snap Trotter nest, the mother was absent, so he thriftily stole two eggs and left the rest for her care. He promised he would take good care of them. He would say that it was succeeding in his mission rather well to bring new blood into the breeding program. The wild one, of course, would be thoroughly assessed for form and temperament before being committed to the program. But it stood to reason that natural selection would have claimed such a bright creature before she met maturity. So it was more like selecting the right male for her out of the two new studs. Wouldn't make sense to use Myr again at this point, as they were interested in the diversity. Zyr was out for similar reasons, though thou would, of course, find a female for his ear so he could keep some Amir's bloodline in the family always.

He had earned much more than that, but seven years standing at stead was a pretty good reward, or he thought me or enjoyed it at heart. Anyway, he finally made it home, and after putting the critters away and the eggs in the incubation room, he groaned as he faced the pile of intake paperwork that he had to fill out later. And Iorhel had laid out all for him, how kind. He frowned, not fair that viltre had got himself a mini assistant, a miniature of himself, in fact. His three more so created more problems than they solved. Things were more fireproof thanks to his kids. So he supposed they were sort of useful in their own way, not like your hell, though she did seem rather reserved for someone so young, her cousin Hrafn had a completely different personality with similar bloodlines. Families were so cool.

On his way back he would find a gift for mom. They would have to stop some places to take breaks, especially with the wild one with them. She would care more about crowds and feel under threat unless they were alone on the road. But she looked like fine sturdy stock and this was what the whole trip had been about. So he made amendments to his plan and decided to travel just a bit slower and get her used to people before they made the ranch. This would likely save them some extra rodeo when they got there. Irregardless he would be nice and busy with work, he would get to see his family and spend some quality time and most important he would be with Terr and the boys again. Though the boys had the capability to wander quite far now they did tend for some reason to stick pretty close to the ranch with he found quite interesting. Maybe the thought of distance travel had not occured to them yet, maybe they wanted to be close to mom and maybe they just didn't feel like it yet. They were interdependant and independant and it looked like one of his kids was falling for that lovely lightning girl who was recovering from some serious injuries. He thought it was good that Tathy had brought her. Then he wondered if he would have to have the talk with him..then he remembered what had happned to get Tathy in the first place and he decided that in light of that he would just hold his peace and keep his mouth shut. Tathy was not foolish if she was the one she was the one.

It was hard not to say something but what could he even say? He wouldn't trade them or Terr for the world and he wouldn't have any of them if they hadn't done what they had. Ahh well, a thought for another day.

The Ant Lion Part 1
Tathy was missing. Thal had sent him to pick up a couple beasts from a broker, a routine mission. But something must have gone wrong as his kid had not returned. Okay okay young man but he was still Thal's kid and he always would be.
Once he hadn't come back in time and no sailscale was sent as messenger Thal set out on the road. It meant sailing to Oba on the fastest ship he could get which meant Ushiruin at the moment as Kechiri had just had two little ones and was very busy with her new son and daughter. They were far too young for her to leave them alone as of yet.

In any case the days of sail were torture. For most of his life Thal had been a very relaxed sort of man. Taking his time doing his jobs thoroughly and without rush. Except for the birth of his triplets that was. This was however an exception to the rule. Now he was faced with another scary and unknown situation that my or may not be within his control but darn straights he was going to try his best to make it right. He nearly vibrated aboard the ship as it sailed over the waves and the mindless fathoms below. His hand shook and the crew avoided the big man with the black look on his face. He couldnt blame them not many people had ever seen this expression on his face it was usually reserved for Ushiwa who almost always wore a frown. Thal was an eat drink tame and be merry sort like an over large dwarf of old. But all things change. The potential loss of his son was enough to shake his very foundations. He knew there was no use in worrying too much as of yet but that did not cure the worry in any way whatso ever.

The wind gently blowing felt sharp upon his face and his vision was both sharp and blurry because his mind raced behind his eyes furiously. He saw his sons face worried or in pain when he closed his eyes. He knew Terrwyn was worried and that made him even more so. She could be volatile but he couldnt stand the potential risk of loosing her too. He had brought Zyr with him. A most capable beast he was turning out to be. Myr stayed behind to look after Terr. The other triplets were no where to be found they had scattered like so much dandelion fluff on thr four winds and he had a sneaking suspicion they were either two far away or also converging on their brother.

The lightning girl that stayed at the ranch was worried too. Thal didn tknkw if there was anything between Talria and his son but he had his suspicions. She was a strong beautiful girl who had been wronged and Tathy had come from his own bloodstock. Anything for a lovely woman in need. And Talria needed a lot at the moment. Thal understood completely but hadnt yet brought it up to his son.

Nor would he until he could locate his son. The trade had been a standard. Tathy was old enough to take on these sort of beast taming missions and had proven himself capable time and time again. Thal couldn't figure out what had gone wrong but it could be something to do with the other half of Tathy's bloodline. Vulir had stamped his children with a certain arrangement of forehead crystals that seemed to be dominant genetically. Making the offspring of his clan distinct from others. His own family had a few enemies as well and Tathy sat right in the middle for looks between his mother and father leaving him vulnerable if he had been in the wrong place at the wrong time. Thal sent a bird off to his father asking for the file that was the case. They had sold a janarim and were picking up some Oban based snaptrotter in exchange.

Like he said a standard deal but perhaps...perhaps it had been a set up from the start. Terr still had that good for nothing husband though her heart and soul belonged firmly to Thal as long as it had taken her to admit it he had known for a long long time that she in fact loved him.

There were too many variables and too much time had passed. The sailong days buzzed by in a hazey blur for him and he leapt off the boat when it hit the harbor waving away the crew members they were free to do whatever he would find his own way home with his son. He was a ranger that was what he accelled at but he had needed the speed of the pirate hunter ship to get him here. The heat of Oba away from the sea struck him between the eyes but he cared not. He hopped up on Zyr and off they went to get to the assigned pick up drop off point that Tathy was supposed to be at.

He arrived and looked around carefully, fully aware that as per usual when he wasnt surrounded by his mostly monochromatic family he stuck out like a sore thumb. Yellow eyes blazing he looked here and there and scouted for clues to the whearabouts of his son or barring that what might have happened. It was a beast market and he approached the dark hided Oban who was the manager. Thal did not recognize him which was suspicious. The usual fellow who brokered bere was called Gunther and he was no where to be seen. Thal didn't want to ask outright and blow what little cover he did have. What he did see in the pens were the promised snaptrotter. Had his son even made it?
"Hey there do you have any janarim? My snapper here is loyal but Im afraid the heat is drying his hide. I have coin enough for a good mount." Obligingly the man led him to the jnarim pens which had a few scrawny beasts.
"Ahem, my uh road is long and dusty do you have nay janarim with a little more uh oomph to them?" He jangled his coin purse suggestively at the hungry looking fellow.

The man Albreight was his name, took him to a shaded area after looking furtively around as if not wanting to be caught and there snorting in the tent erected to hide him was the janarim that his son had been meant to trade. Tathy was here or at least he was in Oba. These folks were responsible for something happening to his son likely kidnap but more than that was not confirmed.
"Mmm yes this is more like it." Thal hide the steel glint in his eye that would have given him away as a big predator to this mouse of a man. Thal made a show of checking the best over. He had trained this janarim and he pushed the searching nose away. "No treats my son you must help me. I will take you home and the snappers never fear but first we find Tathy."

The man hissed at hom to hurry that he had other clients waiting. Thal did a thorough once over and told him he would take the critter when he held out the coin purse he grabbed the mans arm and cracked his skull against his. The man slumped on the spot and Thal trussed him and hid him in a grain sack. The janarim snorted in excitement Avidrian was his name and he did not like the shifty scorra man either. Thal tossed feed sacks around the unconscious do no gooder and tossed him on the janarims armored back feeling no pitty for the mans worthless hide as the janarim armor would be highly uncomfortable without any padding. He wasnt gentle with his handling either and it was fortunate that this bloke had dark skin or people may question the bruises later. He called Myr in and casually rode out of the tent calling back his thanks to the empty tents interior. His suspect was well hidden and for all intents and purposes the others manning the beast sale would think he had bought the janarim fair and square.

He could be a devilishly clever and brutal man when the fancy struck him. He lead his small caravan to a nearby oasis, one he and his fsther had used many times in Oba for beast runs. It may be where Tathy would show up if he escaped the captors.

Thal set up camp and had his stew going before the feed sack sausage woke up from the crack on the head. Weak. Thal was a bit bruised bu the hadn't been at risk from passing out he had gotten much worse in his line of duty and he had struck the idiot onthe temple. One did not mess with the Ninyelt clan.

The Ant Lion Part 2

"Good morning there little cupcake. Tell me, where is my son you sorry sack of dung or I might just add you to the stew." He glared hotly at the groggy broken trussed up man (if you could call him that) before him. "I see no reason why you don't deserve the same treatment he got or worse. And believe me, if I don't come back the rest of my clan will converge on you and we are many and strong in number."

The captive swung his head too swiftly too look at the man addressing him in such a vile manner but then decided the nausea wasn't worth that either. "I have no idea what you are talking about outlander, what business do you have here besides the janarim you were so interested in." When in doubt play dumb was his motto, of course he was more crafty than intelligent on the best of days, anything to keep his shifty hide out of the fire. His eyes darted this way and that not meeting Thal's.

"Ahem, there uh there was a boy that looked uh vaguely like you, we had instructions from higher up to capture him for uh unfinished business from some other sector of our uh company."

"The mob you mean." Thal said flatly, pulling his stick back and replacing it in the fire under the all important stew. He didn't think the fellow would tell him who. "You have to tell me where if you do I will spare your life." He could figure it out when he got there for now he sent a bird to his brother to arm the family as the capture had been confirmed. Ushiwa would see it done. He had lost Elaxi once and he knew what a kidnapped child felt like. It didn't matter that Elaxi had been around youngling/prentice age and Tathy was an adult the same fear still applied.

Well Thal was going to be having none of that. In a large blue hand he brought over a stick from the fire one side was hot burning ember the other cool to the touch. "You want to run me by that again?" He held the hot end close enough to the man's eye that he could feel the heat of the ember. The man's tune miraculously changed.
“There uh was a boy that looked vaguely like you, we had orders from higher up in our uh company to take him for reasons to do with unfinished business in another sector.”
“The mob you mean.” He figured that the man would not tell him exactly why if he even knew, but… “You must tell me where they took him, if you do I will spare your life.”
The man squirmed uncomfortably but a death threat was the most effective scare tactic beyond a flaming stick to the face. He could tell this man was dead serious and this was why he personally had not had any children. Children were loud and noisey and one became far too attached. An attachement to another living being was a liability in his line of work.
“Past the third oasis to the north head northwest until the great divide, it’s a large canyon, the boy is being held there in an encampment, it is an old perzi breeding ground and holds the operation.”

Thal knew of course that this could be a trap for himself and or the rest of his family but he still had to go. Just because it was a trap didn’t necessarily mean that he would be the one to spring it on himself and his son being one of the legendary triplets could very well get himself out if given any opportunity. He knew Tathy had a lot to get home to. His bees would miss him and who would whisper all the family gossip to them. Plus of course the girl. The ever important magnet that would bring Tathy home if it was within his power to do so at any point in his captivity.

However if Thal could rescue him in one piece, whole and sound, that would be okay too. If he couldn't the clan would do so. So long as his son was alive that was what mattered. They could unravel this awful menzuri web later and n** whatever had started it in the bud. His mother had always taught him to rip weeds out by the root and that was exactly what he would do. Noone responsible for this deserved mercy. He would honor his word to leave the snitch alive however the people who held his son would get the snot beat out of them to the point where they would shudder at his name and dare not look upon his son again.

Thal rose an angry flat look on his face. Time to go. He released the punk and packed up camp. The creep scurried away and Thal moved off. He wouldn't be able to sleep here so there was no point in trying so.

The deserts of Oba were harsh and unforgiving but years of travel and training with his father here had prepared the ice/water hybrid for desert survival. He was strong and he wouldn't let the desert through him off track. He used it instead to his advantage. The oasis were shelter and drew game, it also gave Zyr a place to cool off and rest in the water. He remembered as many as he could and used them to travel. When it was far into the night he finally set up camp at another smaller one, a distance and skewed from where he had been before in case the rat he had loosed got bold and decided to come after him or send others after him. Thal was unconcerned. Nothing would stop him. He was using all the cleverness he had gained over his long life. Thal was no spring chicken anymore he was a seasoned beast warrior and he was out for blood the next morning. He drew up on the old perzi canyon around noon and spent quite a bit of the day scouting and planning. He was not quite as tactical as his brother but desperate times called for more than desperate measures. Tathy was his son and he loved his family more than his next breath.
