Raolvar 1
Raol was out for a walk and of course it had started to drizzle and mist on him. It was starting to look rather mystical around here he was mildly intrigued, but he had been walking for a long time too, he was getting tired slowly. He paused for a moment he heard footsteps close by, clacking pebbles together, he heard a faint grunt followed by the most reluctant beast moan. He went closer to get a good look at whatever was going on.

He had been sent on an errand by his dad. He had shown affinity for animals and had become a solid help for both parents. Today it was his task to get a rehabilitated radaku, to the market for rehoming. The creatures original trainer found that the radaku was a bit too much for them, and had given them to Thallassa's father for retraining. His dad had said the fellow struck him as more of a cat person and he sent a perzi home with them.

A boy was attempting to guide a reluctant radaku along the trail. It was a quite comical to watch actually, but he felt like he should go and at least offer himself to help. This whole situation didn't look all that fun for the boy or the animal. He had extensive experience watching wild animals and he thought that he would be of value in this situation. He scrambled down the hill, he had immediately earned the attention of the radaku.

His obstinate ward suddenly stiffened, paused and started to growl, thus alerting him to the presence of another on a higher path. Well, at least the radaku was protective enough. The base coat on the beast was black with large oval spots that were a lovely smokey blue in color. He was a real Looker should go for a high price.
"Be careful." He warned the approaching iceling. "He's freshly trained and still a little uppity and unpredictable in new situations,"
He was sure the beast would have behaved better for either of his parents.

He tilted his head at the pretty beast, "From the looks of it, he had a bit of dominance and felt that it has to protect you." He stopped at a respectful distance, "You just have to show him who's boss." The poor fellow looked to be having a bit of a hard time with the beastie. He had watched wildlife from very young, he had picked up a thing or two. He hadn't had much choice while his family roamed, there was little else to do. "That way he knows that he can't lord himself over you."

He blinked. "Oh, is that all it is. No wonder he was like an angel fro my parents." He was to leave to at least understand why there was a problem so he could correct it, and maybe become a better trainer for it. "Thank you," he said sincerely.
He wondered how long that would have taken to figure this out on his own. The boy had probably saved him many more moons of training frustration. "This one is off to the market, he's ready to find a new home."

"Really? He sure is a fine looking beast, good lines, protective but malleable temperament. Should fetch you top price I expect." He eyed the beast enviously, having an animal companion would prevent some of the dreadful loneliness from sinking into his bones, when one was too many quiet evenings by the fires went by. A beast such as this one would also be a status symbol.

Thal looked at the other boy speculatively His father had told him to always keep an eye out for those that were perfect matches. In such a case, Kiyelt haf told him that money wasn't as important as fully pleasing the customer. "Would you perhaps be interested if I brought his price down by half?"
He felt deep down in his bones that he was doing the right thing. They radaku had not taken his eyes off of the pure blood iceling, since he had met him.

Raol stood frozen. That was a pretty great offer from a complete stranger. "You would do that for me?" He was quite touched. "I don't know what to say. Yes, I do want him. I have a little money stashed away."
He scrambled to take his purse out to pay for the pretty boy before the hybrid changed his mind.
Oh, lucky day! He had a new companion!

"No problem at all, there that should about cover it," so this was what his dad had meant all along, pretty darn cool. So Thallassa took the payment, "Honestly I'm happy I don't have to stand at the market and wait, and I know for sure he went to the right home. My name is Thallassa." He offered his hand to the iceling. It was interesting for Thallassa to see an iceling besides his Dad, they really looked alike, where he and his siblings were quite diverse with the mix of water lines in their blood. Thal was fascinated.

He shook hands with the boy heartily. "Well, I'm very glad that it was mutually beneficial. My kind regards, what is your dad's name? I will be sure to send future customers his way." This kind of generosity need be rewarded with something at least, he didn't have much, but word of mouth was pretty powerful advertising. "He sure is a pretty Radaku.Hey boy, you got a new home now.

"Thank you, we appreciate that. Personally I think he's already happier. There is the leash and the treats and well." He handed Raolvar supplies to pack away. "His blanket, he loves the thing and will play tug with you." It really was a good radaku, you just had to earn his respect. The whole thing, restored his faith a bit in the whole beast taming business. He was new enough to struggle sometimes and sometimes he doubted his aptitude.

He was still in shock, holding the leash and feeling every single fiber. Reverently he reached out slowly so that the radaku could sniff him before running his hand over the silkily furred forehead. This beautiful creature was now his, he wondered about a name. "Do you want a cookie?" He dug one out, and fed his first familiar for the first time, it was all but magical.

He couldn't wait to return home and tell his father about his success and their learning experience, he was incredibly excitedH he realized that the boy still had not told him his name. "What did you say your name was again?" He hoped to keep in touch and hear of their adventures. "I wouldn't mind keeping in touch, Im in the need for good friends."

"My bad. It's Raolvar." He was already thinking about the supplies, he would need to feed his new pet. If the radaku wasn't trained it would be quite hard to get enough food, he would have to train the beast himself and purchase some backup food for a large beast. "Is he fully trained?" This was vital information and this was his chance to learn it.
