Thallassa 1 Thallassa had escaped alone for once, sometimes he liked to wander the lonely road without the distraction of siblings or parents. Well he wasn't completely alone. His Father's sailscale Iniu had followed him. She thought she was so stealthy but he knew she was there. He smiled. He would get her to come out, he just had to find a stall selling good meat. Iniu had high standards and wouldn't eat just anything. Idly he wondered if she was spying on him for his Father. She could also just want to be within his company. He would like that. He really liked sail scales. He hunted around for the proper vendor, seeing one his face lit up. She would be on his shoulder in no time.

Taliessin 1
Thaliessin was sitting atop of a stone fence, looking idly at the crowd. She had nothing to do today, and instead of practicing her instruments she decided to look for inspiration in the crowd. Maybe she'd see someone new, or one of the Kahikinans who occasionally visited the settlement on their way through Tendaji.
Leaning back a bit and swinging her feet, she let out a yawn before stretching her toes wide, ignoring any passerbys who gave her a dirty look for blocking some of the area.

Thallassa 2 He bought some meet and putting a thick leather training glove on, he went out to an area that was a little more open bordered by a stone fence, a few people still milled about but there would be enough room for the would be spy to land. He spotted a lovely looking girl sitting on the stone fence and thought it best to warn her about the potential lizard complications. "I'm going to have a sailscale potentially fly in suddenly so just watch out okay, she is usually good if you stay still." Iniu was very well trained but could get a little protective sometimes.

Taliessin 2
The dancer's daughter let out a large yawn as she finished streching, the heat was something that really wore her down if she spent too much time outside, and thankfully her dark skin helped address that (thanks dad!).
As she finished her stretch and yawn, she looked down at the voice to see a dark skinned water boy. On a second look, it was clear he was some sort of hybrid, and Taliessin grinned cheekly. Hybrids were her specialty, considering how she was raised, and she didn't really bat an eye after the first impression.
"Oh no, I actually snuck out today." She replied with a grin.

He smiled cheerfully back at her, he couldn't help it. "Snuck out from what?" He was almost clobbered by his Father's sneaky sailscale because he was not paying attention and she was going for the food in his glove.
"Oh excuse me," he said to the girl quickly, "Iniu must you wait for the worst moment to pounce? You evil little creature." He smiled belying his words and patted the lovely sailscale on the head. He adored her and she knew it.
"This is Iniu, she was the first creature my father ever tamed and remains the sassiest. My greatest fear is that I will lose her because she is very beloved. She insists on sneaking up on me though on adventures. I am wondering if my father sicks her on me as some form of guardian angel."

Leaning forward to look down at Thallassa, she grinned, "Lessons." She replied before leaning back, "It's too nice of a day to be pent up inside singing and dancing..."
She turned her head to look over her shoulder, making sure no one really noticed her absence just yet. Still in the clear!
"Oh cool! My uncle Nuri is a Beast Master for the oban army. He's tamed so many beasts...even the big warbeasts!"
Swinging her legs, she jumped down to face Thallassa head on, "I'm Taliessin, but most call me Tali. Nice to meet you!"

"Really? The Oban war beasts too? Dad got to sit on a Yaotl once. He said it was the most intimidating creature he had ever been on, I can't imagine how scary the oban equivalent would be, that is soooo cool."
Huh he had come over her to get her attention but undoubtedly now she had his own. He loved talking about new creatures.
"Lessons huh?" He winced, technically he was on a bit of a study break, but he could just see the look on his mother's face. "I always feel guilty when I'm not doing lessons but more so a reflex of fear because I know my ma would be disappointed."
"But its also a really pretty day and it would be a shame to be inside."

She smiled, nodding slightly as she brushed her hair over her shoulder and away from her neck. Man it was getting hot, and she really needed some shade. Even if her skin was so dark, it didn't help if she was out too long.
That being said, Taliessin was hesitant to go out on her own too far from her house. Maybe it was her overprotective father, or her mother's history that she didn't know much about, but she wanted to make sure she was close just in case someone snagged her away.
Speak of which, she waited a beat before asking, "So...what's your name and where you from?"
Better to be safe than sorry, even if he was nice.

"My name is Thallassa, I am the son of Kiyelt and Ninaeleth, I'm from a small village on the coast."
"And you? Are you from around here too?" He didn't come this way all that often, so if her home was near it wasn't likely for them to bump into each other. More often he liked to travel to distant isolated places where there were no people or at least a lot fewer than here. It was a trait that he and his younger brother shared.
Iniu flew back off into the trees to pursue some prey. It was fun to watch her hunt.

Taliessin didn't really recognize those names, but to be fair she was sheltered in terms of who she met and where she went. Overprotective parents and all that.
"Oh yes, this is my hometown..." she replied with a nod, her eyes watching the creature fly away with a bit of interest.
"Actually, this is where I live..." She replied, pointing back at the large building with the fence. It stood out well enough, but they were in the back of the place so it wasn't as obvious that it was part home, part dancer's hall.

Thal peered at the building with interest. "Well that is very cool," he basically lived in a zoo so this place was pretty fancy looking. "Nice digs."
He didn't want to bother the poor girl for too much longer but he was enjoying talking to someone new as opposed to his siblings.
"I don't want to take up too much of your time, I'm sure you have stuff to do, but thank you for the chat. "If ever there is a critter in need, my Mom heals them." He liked to offer the help of his parents where he could, their jobs were just so darn useful.

"Thank you..." She replied, "I don't tend to go too far away...even if it's a small settlement, it's better to be safe..." Than sorry. Taliessin didn't want to end up stressing her parents or causing any sort of problems, but when it got dark the streets weren't as friendly as they were now.
"Thank you for that. I don't have critters but I'll keep that in mind if I ever get one..." It was always helpful to have resources in case of an emergency.

"You are absolutely right Tali, it is better to be safe. Never let anyone make you feel uncomfortable or pressured to go too far from home. Thats what my Mom says anyways. She's a smart lady me Mum." He winked at her. Proof that he did listen to his Mother. I better go get Iniu back to Dad, I can see her staring at me from that tree over there like an angry old aunt."
"One day she will realize I'm an adult and leave me alone." he chuckled. "Have a good day, maybe see you around again?" He smiled and waved before marching himself off home. Before he got in trouble for lallygagging too long.

The girl smiled, nodding, "At least safe until I can learn how to defend myself..." She wasn't sure she wanted to be a warrior like her father, but maybe she'd find a way to defend herself with a hidden weapon of sorts.
Looking over at the beast, Tali giggled, "I completely understand. I'm sure if I don't get back I'll be in more trouble that necessary...it was nice meeting you, Thallassa."
Turning, she paused before waving over her shoulder, "If you ever are visiting, make sure to ask for me at the Violet...at least it'll give me an excuse to avoid studying!"
And with that, she rushed off.
