His sweater bolero was off as he worked out to avoid getting too hot. It was bad enough that he chose to wear a sweater anything in the humidity of Matori. Still, Kynin was doing pull ups to keep his upper body strength up and working up quite the sweat. The low hanging branch he was using bobbed with his weight with each one he did. up then down, the poor leaves shook.
The look on Ky's face showed he was a bit irritated about something or another. Not all that far from his usual expression but those that knew him could tell he was stewing over something. As he went up for another pull up his lip curled back to show his teeth in a bit of a snarl. Had he been a beast it might have been terrifying.

He was out a wandering, sometimes it was good to go on nature walks around. It told someone who knew what to look for a surprising amount about their surroundings and it made him happy. That was reason enough to do it once in a while. Sometimes the lovely Terrwyn came with him. She had fit right in at the ranch welcomed with open arms and Mother to many pesky, beautiful boys.
Thal was surprised today to come across his little brother. "Ky?" Ky had mad rbf on, but Thal had grown up with Ushi as a little brother so he was impervious to most things...that and he greatly outweighed his smaller brother and was immune to human bites..mostly.
"Your branch might break." It looked like it was feeling the strain. Though physical exercise was a healthy outlet for whatever was plagueing his younger brother.

He heard his brother call his name but for the most part all he did was move his eyes over to look at him. Beyond that there was nothing given to show he heard the man. That was until Thal commented on the branch he was using for his workout. He snarled a bit as he lowered himself down just before going back up for another. "If it does then I'll burn it.. so it won't if it knows what's good for it." The threat was meant for the branch alone but the tone in his voice would clue his older brother in to the foul mood he was feeling. It was hard to tell what had put him in such a mood since the boy was easily angered. Especially if it had anything to do with a certain other boy.

Thal who lived in a perpetual state of curious joy and steady even temper, had never understood where the fire in this family had come from. But some of the members had it in abundance and some where just plain scary. Kynin however was still in that young mans stage of burning emotions. He cleared his throat and wondered if he would play devil's advocate today. It was no secret that Kynin's best friend, the younger brother to Variel, Gajeel also had a hot temper when pushed and the pair of them went off like happy little fireworks on the regular. "This wouldn't have anything to do with a certain Oban prentice would it?" He asked innocently. There were many reasons why Ushi had fought with his older brother over the years and this, sadly for Kynin was one of them. Thal couldn't resist poking.

When Thal mentioned Gajeel, though not by name, he paused in his workout. The boy was mid pull, half way up to the branch, and he turned to look at his older brother. "What makes you think that?" Kynin scrunched up his nose and then looked at the branch he was holding onto. His knuckles were white from how hard he was gripping the thing. "Maybe this tree just offended me." Ky huffed and started to finish the pull up he was halfway done with. Once he did he let go and dropped to the ground - a whole three feet.

"Because if it were Kina or Ushi, you wouldn't be here doing pull ups, you would be screaming in their faces..that leaves..Gajeel." Thal shrugged. "Just based on multiple interactions, brother mine." He could in fact be a bit of a troll...but his family just made it so easy~. "You would have come through on your fire threat, if it were the tree." Thal had oddly old eyes but perhaps that came from being the oldest boy in a huge family. "Kynin..what happened?" He knew his question was in fact unlikely to get a straight answer. Nin was better with her son than anyone else but that was her job. Usually they could get Gajeel to at least steer him sort of. In Nin's absence it was up to him to find out what was going on and see if he could maybe give unsolicited advice. He might get a good wrestle out of it at least.

Well he was right about that. Had it been one of his siblings then he'd simply go yell at them. Sometimes it was annoying to have an older brother than knew him so well. So Kynin gave Thal a look.
At first he remained silent as he didn't really want to talk but he couldn't really keep working out as he had been with Thal bugging him. So instead he snatched his sweater bolero off the ground and shook it out. "I saw a girl flirting with Gajeel." As he spoke his eyes narrowed so he could glare at thin air.

Thal pursed his lips thinking.. "Ain't y'all a bit young for flirting? Though some young ladies can be pretty persistant...what did Gajeel do?" This was admittedly getting a bit juicey.. he was kind of pumped to share the news with Terr later. Kynin and Gajeel had been joined at the hip since Kynin first claimed the fire boy as part of the family and no one had questioned it. They were good friends. Perhaps there were some deeper underlying currents of jealousy though.
He loved watching social dynamics play out so long as the only ones he was involved in were family ones. He liked good tea but only about local celebrities or people he cared about.
This was a special and quite interesting case..he was also delighted that Kynin was opening up.

As his brother told him they were young for flirting he had to give him a look like her was super old and out of the times. "You're joking right? We're teens. Flirting is all we do. That and fighting." Kynin turned away from Thal and shook his shirt out once more before he started to put it on. "I don't know what he did. I didn't stay around to see." And he didn't want to. Any more of watching the stupid girl hand all over Gajeel and he was likely to snap.

He raised his hands in capitulation. "I only flirted with two people including Terr and that was after I was a beast charmer, forgive me." He smiled broadly. "Fighting I did do but that was because Ushi was a pain in the butt." And deserved all the pummeling he eventually got. Though there was a time that they were evenly matched and that stood still. Ushi was faster, Thal landed heavier blows. They did it for fun now of course. But he did remember the good ol brawl days. "Maybe you should ask him. He doesn't seem like the type to like letting people he doens't know touch him." Variel was very similar. It might be a bloodline thing. "Have you thought about just talking with him? He might have thrown her in the creek after you left."

Kynin snorted at his brother and rolled his eyes. "Yes, we all know you were lame." How his older brother hadn't flirted more was beyond him. All he'd ever heard about from the older ladies was how good looking his siblings had been when they were his age. "Fighting with Ushi doesn't count." He got into it plenty of times with Tethys but to him that wasn't a fight. That was just brothers being brothers. "Well trust me.. she was touching him." The thought caused Ky to clench his jaw and grind his teeth a little. While it wasn't the healthiest behavior the boy was very jealous. Gajeel was his. Kynin had claimed him a long time ago. And he made sure to continue to bite the other so that people understood. Ky was also territorial. Mixed with his anger issues - well, it made things interesting for sure. "If I talk to him right now I'm more likely to want to fight him. Maybe I should bite him again so he knows he's mine." Though he didn't think Gajeel forgot that.

Thal shook his head at his little brother, Kynin needed desperately to learn how to lighten up. But perhaps today was not the day for that to happen. Gajeel had scars, faint but there from all the nips and bites Kynin had given him. The boy looked like he had taken on a whole pack of those bitey fish in the heart of Jauhar but it was just his little brother, who was not so little anymore. In fact they all had at least one bite mark from him. Thal was a lover not a biter but he could fight when the need called. "Well, if you don't want to talk, maybe just pick a fight with him? And then when you are exhausted and he is cowering beneath your feet explain why." If you can't beat em, bite em, or join em. "A bite can't be wrong the boy seems to enjoy it."

He paused for a second and eyed his brother. Usually his siblings, along with their parents, were trying to get him to stop fighting. Yet, here was Thal, encouraging him to go find Gajeel and throw some punches. That didn't quite add up. "Are you telling me to go fight?" He gave a smirk. "I'm telling mom you gave me permission." While his brother was a full grown adult everyone in the family was scared of their mother when she got it in her mind that she was going to lay down the law or deal out punishments. The woman was scary. "And he's gonna get bit either way." That was a given.

"Go right ahead! Tell Mom I gave you permission," in Thal's opinion his Mother would know why once he had the chance to explain to her why he told Kynin to go and fight Gajeel. Their Mother was smart and Thal figured this was the only way to get Kynin to know what actually happened. One way or the other it would resolve the friend spat. Which kept their world in balance. An unhappy Kynin meant bite marks all around. And since he was their brother and one of the younger ones at that they had to be a bit more patient with him, well, besides Ushi. But anyone who annoyed Ushi got what was coming to them. "Let me know how the fight went would you, you are my favorite sports team."

He had to roll his eyes at his older brother. "Why would I tell you how it went after that?" His favorite sports team huh? Kynin might start to lose after that. Well, no not really, his ego wouldn't allow for that but he might start making sure no one told the outcomes of his fights. "I don't even know where he is." Kynin finally shrugged his shoulders a bit. "Prolly off talking to the airhead."
