06/06/06 - Alaqua decided to try and take her sister back to the place where Reign came from. Niki found out and got a bit upset.
05/18/06 - Ala recieved a form in the mail from D-corp.
05/15/06 - Niki got another child, giving Ala a chimp sister. Ala doesn't seem to like the girl...
05/08/06 - Niki went over to Tara's house in hopes of the woman babysitting Ala for a while, where they discovered that Tara had been given a D-corp child as well.

 Nikiana: Niki is Alaqua's 'mother' and the owner of the house.
 Reign: Reign is Ala's sister. The two got off to a rough start, but seem to be getting along much better now that they are older. Reign even helps Ala practice fighting.
 Cassi: In a very confusing twist... Cassi is Ala's nephew. He's from D-corp too!
 Evelyn: Ala's other sister. She came from a leaf. Strange, isn't it?
 Allete: Another sister?! What's up with this household??

The house is only one story, with a basement. The basement is Niki's lab and is off limits to everyone but herself.
As you enter the house, you step into the living room, which is the area on the rightmost side of the house. The living room is fairly large and contains a TV, Xbox, PS2, and two large couches. Also, it contains three large bookcases, each crammed with books, mostly fiction, especially science fiction and fantasy.
The kitchen is to the left and at the back of the house. A small table is set up there with four chairs.
Continuing on, you end up in the long hallway of the house. Directly across from the kitchen is a bathroom. Next to the kitchen, a door opens into the laundry room. Across the hall from it is Niki's room.
Next to Niki's room is her cluttered 'office' area. A computer desk is covered with a monitor, keyboard, mouse, and stacks upon stacks of various papers and books. One bookcase is placed against a wall, crammed with an assortment of science journals and other books, some appearing to be old textbooks.
Across from Niki's office is the stairway to the basement. On the other side of the hallway is Reign's room.
And across from it is Ala's room.
Next would be Evelyn's room.
And then Allete's room.

Ala's pet echidna, named Eddy. Niki had told her what the critter was and all Ala could manage was 'Eddy'. So that was what the poor thing was named.

Scientific name: Phascolarctos cinereusp ("pouched bear" "ash gray")
Physical description: The koala is a small bear-like, tree-dwelling, herbivorous marsupial which averages about 9kg (20lb) in weight. Its fur is thick and usually ash gray with a tinge of brown in places. The Koala is well suited to life in the trees. The koala has an excellent sense of balance and its body is lean and muscular and its quite long, strong limbs support its weight when climbing. The arms and legs are nearly equal in length and the koala's climbing strength comes from the thigh muscle joining the shin much lower than in other animals. Its paws are especially adapted for gripping and climbing with rough pads on the palms and soles helping it to grip tree trunks and branches. Both front and hind paws have long sharp claws and each paw has five digits. On the front paw, two fingers are opposed to the other three, rather like a human thumb, so they are able to be moved in opposition to the fingers. This allows the koala to grip more securely. On the hind paw, there is no claw on the big toe, and the second and third toes are fused together to form a 'grooming claw'.
Koalas have a thick woolly fur which protects them from both high and low temperatures. It also acts like a 'raincoat' to repel moisture when it rains. The fur varies in color from light gray to brown, with patches of white on the chest and neck, inside arms and legs and inside the ears. Mature males are recognizable by the brown 'scent gland' in the center of their white chest. The fur on the koala's bottom is densely packed to provide a 'cushion' for the hard branches it sits on, and has a 'speckled' appearance which makes koalas hard to spot from the ground.
The Koala's nose is one of its most important features, and it has a very highly developed sense of smell. This is necessary to differentiate between types of gum leaves and to detect whether the leaves are poisonous or not.
Behavior: Koalas are mostly nocturnal animals and they are most active during the night and at dawn and dusk. This is because in the cooler hours they are less likely to lose precious moisture and energy than they would during the hotter daylight hours. An average of eighteen to twenty hours each day are spent resting and sleeping, and the remainder for feeding, moving around, grooming and social interaction.
Distribution: Parts of southeastern and eastern Australia
Habitat: 'Habitat' refers to the types of bushland that koalas like to live in. They are found in a range of habitats, from coastal islands and tall eucalyptus forests to low woodlands inland. Koalas today are found in Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, and South Australia .
Koalas live in societies, just like humans, so they need to be able to come into contact with other koalas. It is because of this they need to have areas of suitable eucalyptus forest which are large enough to support a healthy koala population and to allow for expansion by maturing young koalas. Koalas are highly territorial and in stable breeding groups, individual members of koala society maintain their own "home range" areas.
Food: The leaves of eucalyptus trees.
Predators: Dogs, foxes and dingoes. Also Goannas, Eagles, and Owls can capture young koalas.
Interesting facts:
- The koala gets its name from an ancient Aboriginal word meaning "no drink" because it receives over 90% of its hydration from the Eucalyptus leaves (also known as gum leaves) it eats, and only drinks when ill or times when there is not enough moisture in the leaves. ie during droughts etc.
- The Koala's digestive system is especially adapted to detoxify the poisonous chemicals in the leaves. The toxins are thought to be produced by the gum trees as a protection against leaf-eating animals like insects.
- They walk with an awkward-looking gait and can also run. Koalas have sometimes been observed swimming, but this is not a regular occurrence.
- The Koala cools itself by licking its arms and stretching out as it rests in the trees (koalas have no sweat glands).
- Koalas look soft but their fur actually feels like the wool on a sheep.
- Koalas have "backwards facing" pouches that open towards the back of the animal instead of the head like most other marsupials.

Ligeia: Ala doesn't know much about this owl boy, but she calls him 'Liggy'. She really likes his dragon, whom she refers to as 'Worrel'.
Terpsichore: Alaqua seems fascinated by the scaly skin of 'Ter'. The two seem to get along okay. Ala got to meet the boy again as he was shedding. She seemed to cheer him up a lot.
Lucia: Ala seems to like this girl. They played hide-and-seek at the park in one of the trees. Ala seemed to enjoy the game and was delighted to meet another kid that could climb. They met again in Ala's first magic class and Alaqua was happy to see that Lucia had a dragon as well.
Aysel: This is my cousin. She's a lot of fun and she just got her dragon, too! How fun!
Riley: Ala ran into the elk boy at an ice cream parlor and was intrigued by the boy's antlers. She thought that they hurt him until his father reassured her that they didn't.
Cody: Cody is a sturdy little boy. And he has horns! How cool!
Talia: This girl has tenticles. And her skin can change colors. Very cool.
Liang: Ala met this girl at the park. She's afraid of heights, even if she's a bird. So Ala helped her get the courage to try and fly.
Azoc: Ala is fascinated with the things coming out of the girl's head. And she has funny looking hands. Ala helped Azoc find her dad at the supermarket.
Reese: This boy was in a wheelchair because he has no legs. Ala was a bit confused, since Ter has no legs as well, but was distracted from asking Reese why he had to have a wheelchair by the fact that he didn't know that they were designed to control dragons. How silly. Everyone knew that. Didn't they?
