According to the 'reports', this kid was a pretty quiet one. Probably shy, too, the battle teacher reasoned, because kids who were quiet were normally so because of that.
It was lucky for her then she'd gotten a class at night. Morning Lilly was much more grumpy and irratable than Night Lilly, and Night Lilly was a force to be reckoned with as it was.
Although, she was in a fairly good mood, having found her friend Mr.Clipboard again. Flipping a paper over, she wrinkled her nose back. "Co-a-la? When in the hell be a co-a-la?"
The white dragon on her shoulder clucked his tounge and squeaked.
"Koala?" Lilly corrected, then shrugged. "Aye, whatever the case..."

Alaqua strolled along to class. She was happy to have a night class. When her mom had seen that their options were super early and late, Niki had signed her daughter up for the late. Ala was not a morning person. Then again, koalas were nocturnal...
The brass dragon trailed along behind the girl, still not happy about all these classes they went to. Bob spotted the teacher and eyed her warily. She looked kinda scary.
Ala quietly shuffled over to where Lilly was standing. "Hello..."

So, this was a koala?
Lilly decided she didn't like koala's.
She didn't like this student or this dragon, either. Too nervous. Didn't anyone raise mean little bratty children anymore? Bah. Maybe she should be thankful, since the end result of one of those types of kids would probably be her getting fired.
Temper, temper.
"Aye," she greeted gruffly, openly eyeing the girl, and then circling her, as if trying to conclude something. Something she didn't conclude even after looking her over.
She had a large basis of knowledge on animals. Koala? Not one of them.
"Mmkay. What can you do, lass?"

Ala blinked in surprise. Wasn't this teacher supposed to be telling her things? "Uh... I can climb really well." Yup, her mother had drilled in good vs. well and who vs. whom into this girl.
Bob watched the woman, then gave a grunt. He flopped down to watch whatever it was that was going to happen. Ala hadn't seemed to sure of what was to occur and so he wasn't sure either. Well, maybe the silly girl would learn something important. Like... how she should change his name.

"Mm..." Lilly scratched her chin thoughtfully, and after a moment nodded. "Aye, that's good enough, we'll work on that, then. But not here. Gonna take you somewhere else." Her eyes narrowed into a fierce glare and moved toward 'Bob'. "Aye, dragon! Get yer lazy a** up! Ya know what happened to one's like cha in the war? Got their heads cut clear off, they did! No room for lazys here at D-Corp, you got it?"

Ala nodded as the teacher spoke, then turned to look at her dragon. Bob snorted and got up, grumpy. So he couldn't talk and he couldn't lay down? This was turning out to be worse than the other classes thus far. He grumbled and made his way over to Alaqua.

Okay, so climbing...
She looked over the information one more time. Koala. Her name. Dragon type (which Lilly knew already, her knowledge on dragons far surpassed that of other animal kingdom). Dragon's name---
Oi.
"Aye, girly, what's with yer little lazy's name? Bob? Where'd ya git somethin' like that?"

The dragon perked his name up at his name. Well, more at the way Lilly said his name. Apparently she thought it was silly, too! He was starting to like the woman just a little bit now.
Alaqua blinked a bit, confused. "Mommy said he's a boy... and that's a boy's name..." What was wrong with the name Bob? It was a cool name. And... what did this have to do with her class?

"...Right."
Lilly decided to leave it at that. She thought Muffin was a ridiculous name, but Bob? Eesh. Kids these days. "Well, ya follow me, co-a-la," she instructed, and then started walking.
They reached a forest and ventured into it. Within only a few minutes they were in a clearing that looked almost to be like some sort of (fairly old) training program, likely for an army.
Among the mass amounts of equipment, in the center, was a very, very tall brick wall, and a rope dangling from both ends.
"Aye, go on an' climb that wall there, I'll see what cha can do first. If ya fall, my a** won't catch cha, so I hope yer dragon there can move pretty quick. Go on now."

Ala and Bob followed after Lilly once she started walking. The girl was excited to see that they were heading towards trees. Bob was a bit disappointed that Lilly hadn't made Ala change his name. Oh well, he still hadn't thought up the best name yet. It would have to be something really fantastic to make up for suffering as Bob for so long.
Alaqua looked at the wall that Lilly pointed it. Man was it tall. The girl headed over to it, Bob trotting along behind since he didn't want Lilly to think him too lazy. And, well, maybe it would be to also catch Ala if she fell. Not that he thought she would... the girl practically lived in trees.
Ala glanced up at the wall as she stood at its base, then took the rope into her hands and started climbing up. It was a different way of climbing, seeing how walls didn't have branches or bark. She couldn't get as good footholds since her claws didn't exactly go into brick. It took her awhile to get adjusted to the different way of climbing.

Lilly seemed a bit annoyed it took the girl so long to adjust. But once she had begun climbing, the teacher watched with what seemed like approval. "Aye, not too shabby," she commented to the dragon on her shoulder, who clucked in agreement.
Her red eyes turned to Bob thoughtfully. She had to question if these two really had any sort of bond, especially given he didn't seem to like his name from what she'd observed. Besides, who would like that name?
"Aye, Muffin," she mumbled, watching Ala again. Almost to the top... "Go 'en bite that rope."
Muffin soared from her shoulder with impressive speed. He thudded against the top of the wall, digging his claws into it and taking the rope in his mouth. His jaw snapped and it broke in two, sending the student tumbling down.
"Better catch yer girly, dragon!"

Ala shrieked as the rope in her hands suddenly went slack. She scrambled, trying to grasp the wall, but claws were not meant to dig into brick. All she managed to do was slow her fall a touch... and make some scratches on the wall.
Bob looked up as Ala shrieked. She might be a silly girl, but the brass dragon did like her... really, really deep down. He saw the flash of white near the area where the rope had snapped. But, he flapped his wings, trying to fly up to catch the falling koala girl. One small problem... he was too small to actually keep them both in the air.
So, girl falls onto dragon. Dragon and girl both fall to ground. Girl lands on top of dragon.
Ala frowned as she slowly got up, looking up at the end of the rope. Bob grunted and got up as soon as the girl was off of him, hissing over at Muffin.

Muffin narrowed his eyes, but didn't provide a reaction otherwise. Lilly did this sort of thing all the time, and to be honest, he'd had a lot worse responses to listening to her.
The whip cracked on the ground. Though she was probably the last person who should've been, she looked angry. "What in the HELL was that?! Ya call that flyin'! My ex-husbands TV I threw out the window flew better than that!"
With her free hand, Lilly pointed at Ala. "And you! I almost killed ya and ya got NOTHIN' to say about that?! Yer unfit to be my student! I suggest ya go find one of those more pansy battle teachers!"
Ha! Co-a-la! She knew they weren't fierce enough animals.

Bob's hissing just grew louder and was now directed at Lilly as well as Muffin. This woman was not nice! Not nice at all! "Aesthyr malsvir..."* He growled at her.
Alaqua looked at Lilly, almost bursting into tears. Why would the woman try to hurt her like that? Her lower lip quivered for a moment, but she managed to hold the tears in. Why did they even let her teach?? Ala still didn't say anything, afraid that if she did, she would actually burst into tears and she didn't feel like crying in front of the teacher.

Lilly was a stubborn woman. When her mind was made, it was made. Her decisions wouldn't be swayed. By growling, or even by the tears of a little girl. Didn't they put some sort of disclaimer by her name now that they had more battle teachers?! Damn!
She growled herself. Oh, great, now she was going to start bawling.
"Sorry, lass," she said, but wasn't really. "Got no room for cowards in me class. Go on and go home, got nothin' more to teach ya." Following her own words, Lilly rolled the whip up quite swiftly and ushered for Muffin to return to her shoulder.
Once he had, she turned and stormed off.
Hate. Children.
