Alaqua keeps asking me when she can go see her dragon egg over and over again. I finally called D-corp and had her scheduled in for a time. Which thrilled Ala beyond everything.
That morning, Ala's younger sister Reign woke up, covered in fur. Which was... new. To cheer the girl up, I suggested to her that we go shopping. Which got a grunt from Ala and a demand for reassurance that she would still get to go see her dragon egg. So I dropped Ala off at D-corp and Reign and I went to the mall to go shopping.
After shopping, we swung by and picked up Ala and then, once we got home, Reign had to show her sister the dresses we'd bought. And model each one for the koala girl. Alaqua scowled as Reign had run off to put on the first one, but she calmed a bit after spotting me and even commented about how pretty Reign looked in one of the dresses. They're slowly getting used to each other.
I was afraid that Reign might hold a grudge for Ala trying to take her back to Nara, but the chimp girl seems to be over that (probably even forgot it) and adores her sister.
Ala even took Reign with her to the park the other day so that I could do a bit of housework. I was a bit nervous about sending my 6-year-old and my 4-year-old off by themselves to the park (even though it's only a block away). But they came back after about an hour and Ala talked on and on about a new girl that she'd met at the park, some bird girl who was afraid of heights. That's a new one.

I know I haven't written in a while, so this will have to be a longer entry. Between my two girls, I just haven't had much time to sit down and write.
I finally got the backyard fenced in. It's a wooden privacy fence and hopefully solid enough that a hatchling can't just knock it down. The gate was made extra large and I've been debating putting in a set of french doors in Alaqua's room to lead out into the backyard.
Ala is still pestering me to see her dragon egg all of the time. One time, along the way to D-corp, we passed by Mr. Rikery on the side of the road. I stopped and we soon discovered that Talia had been missing all that day. I gave the boss a ride down the road and we found some information about where the girl had gone, so I ended up giving Alan a ride on back into town.
We did find his daughter and it turned out that Alan's ex-wife (the man had been married! Kind of a surprise there...) had thought the girl orphaned and was taking her to an orphanage. The woman also had another little D-corp boy with her. Not sure how she had ended up with the both of them, but we managed to get the two children away from her before she left, ignoring Alan's requests about Talia. From the way he was talking, I don't think he was referring to the cuttlefish girl.
Things have been much quieter since then, at least. Ala and Reign still don't get along well, but at least they don't bicker and fight all of the time. They mostly just ignore each other. I'll be glad when Ala's dragon does hatch. For one, I won't be the only meat-eater in the house anymore and another would be that Ala will have a friend in the house. Reign still doesn't seem to be looking forward to having a draconic housemate. I'll have to get her a pet or something, it seems.

Thankyou for all your hard work with us here at D-corp. Your child's dragon egg is near hatching, and we'd like to have you file another report on the progress of your child. Enclosed is a sheet for them to fill out, you may help them. Also please include any and all changes in your child. Even the smallest detail may become of importance later on. Sincerely The Boss

More Mail for Ala
Nikiana recognized the envelope when she pulled it out of the mailbox, along with a stack of bills and credit card offers. She sorted the last two categories as she walked back to the house, tossing the seperate stacks on the coffee table before standing at the end of the hallway.
"Ala! You got a letter!"
The grey and green blur raced from Ala's bedroom to Niki, grabbing the letter out of her mother's hands and ripping it open.
"Careful, Ala!"
The girl skimmed the letter, excited about one of the phrases. "My egg's close to hatching!" She handed the letter to her mother to read while she took the form and found her green gel pen to fill it out with.
Niki read the letter, noticing how it was similar to the first letter to come with a form for Ala to fill out. They wanted her to write another progress report. Didn't schools used to send these reports to the parents and not the other way around? D-corp was a bit more than a school, granted, but Ala did still attend classes there... Oh well.
The woman joined her daughter at the kitchen table, both working on filling out what was asked of them. Once Alaqua had finished filling in the blanks, she got up and went to get her crayons out of her room, working on coloring in the picture at the top.
"Done, Mommy!" Ala declared, putting her crayons away.
"Good job. I'll mail it off right away." Niki said, looking up from her letter. Almost finished, she turned back to it, picking up the pen again.

Quote: Alaqua is growing up so fast. Her hair has grown quite a bit since the last time you asked for a report. Which was lucky, considering how short it had been. Just recently, I finally convinced Ala to go to a hair salon to get an actual haircut. The ragged ends were becoming quite obvious. Luckily, she didn't put up too much of a fight, but was determined to get a certain hairstyle. I gave in, considering how it was actually kind of cute. Once again, Ala outgrew all of her clothes. I took her shopping again and she picked out a couple of pairs of jeans. But with all the climbing that she loves to do, these have quickly started wearing out a bit. I patched the knees (which were the worst) with some green fabric, but the ends are a bit frayed. As for tops, Alaqua likes to wear a loose green t-shirt with a darker green vest worn over it. She still hates shoes. I'm a bit worried about Ala, though, for she has been gaining a bit too much weight lately. Maybe it's just her koala DNA, for koalas aren't the skinnies of animals. But Ala is definately getting pudgier.

The Dragon Arrives
Shortly after Nikiana had cleaned up after breakfast, the phone rang. The woman answered, wondering who'd be calling this early, especially on a Saturday. It had to be about one of the girls. Maybe Ala's dragon egg visit was cancelled for today or perhaps one of the girls had a lesson today suddenly. Or, well, who knew.
"Hello?"
"Miss Ledell? This is one of the D-techs from the egg facility." Okay so her first guess seemed to be right. "We're calling to inform you that Alaqua's egg is hatching. If she could get here as soon as possible, she might get to see the actual hatching."
Niki nearly dropped the phone. "We'll head over right now!" Hanging up the phone, the mother moved to the hallway, heading towards her room to get dressed. "Ala, your egg is hatching. Hurry up and get dressed!"
Ala poked her head outside her door. "It is?!? Yay!!" The door shut and sounds could be heard from behind it as the koala girl dashed about to get ready fast.
Reign poked her head out as well. "Can I come, Mom?"
Niki had just reached her own room and she turned to smile at her second daughter. "Sure, sweetie. But hurry, we don't want to miss it!"
Reign nodded and carefully shut her own door. Now to find that new dress she'd gotten the other day...
Nikiana entered her own room, pulling the first shirt she grabbed off its hanger and finding a pair of clean jeans. She ran a brush through her hair as Ala called from out in the hallway that she was ready. Niki exited and smiled at the anxious girl.
"C'mon, Reign!!" Ala called, practically dancing with her excitement. The chimp girl came out into the hallway and the trio headed for the door, Niki grabbing her keys and wallet on the way out.
She hit the remote unlock as she locked the front door, then double-checked that the girls were wearing their seatbelts before hopping in the driver's seat and racing towards D-corp.
Ala was opening the door before her mom had even come to a complete stop in the parking lot and raced towards the building. Niki sighed and grabbed Reign's hand to follow along behind.
A D-tech had come out by the time Niki and the chimp girl had reached the lobby, for Ala had told the lady at the front desk why she was there. They all filed onto the elevator and headed up to the incubation floor.
Alaqua started down the familar hallway to the room her egg was in, but the tech directed them elsewhere. "Your egg's in a room with more space so it can hatch out," he explained as he lead them to the room.
The girl recognized her egg and raced towards it. The yellow-orange hued egg was shaking and cracks had appeared upon its surface. Niki and Reign found seats by the wall and sat to watch.
It seemed that they didn't have to hurry quite so much, for it was another half hour before the wyrmling managed to break completely free. The hatchling was still damp with egg goo, but that didn't deter Ala from hugging it.
"Is it a boy or girl?" was the child's first question, looking around for the tech, who'd left quite some time back.
"Let's find out," her mother answered, stepping forward. A quick check was all she needed before announcing, "A boy."
Reign sighed. Darn, that meant she wouldn't get to put all kinds of pretty ribbons on the dragon. Hmph.
"A boy..." Ala mumbled for a moment, then looked at the dragon. "Your name is Bob!" She declared.
The brass hatchling grunted, apparently disgusted with his bonded's choice of name, but Alaqua took the noise as affirmation and hugged the dragon. "We'll have so much fun together, Bob."
Nikiana nearly burst out laughing at the solemn way her daughter proclaimed the dragon's name. She almost said something in the poor hatchling's defense, but kept silent and just shook with mirth. The name was too amusing for a dragon.
"Well, come on Ala. We'd best get Bob," and here the woman almost let out her laughter, "home."
Reign grabbed her mother's hand and they all headed back towards the elevator, the disgruntled dragon following along behind the girl who'd tagged him with such a horrible name. He'd have to come up with his own name, it seemed. And he'd take his time about it, you couldn't just come up with a name instantly, it had to be carefully considered and thought upon.
Alaqua was a bit disappointed that Bob couldn't ride in the seat with her, but Niki was afraid he'd tear the leather seats with his claws. "He can ride in the back. He'd be more comfortable there, anyways."
"Can I ride with him?"
Niki eyed her daughter for a moment, then sighed. "I suppose so."
"Yay!" Alaqua jumped up and down with excitement before climbing in to ride alongside the brass dragon.
The ride home was uneventful and Ala took Bob on an immediate tour of the house, pointing out her room and her mother's room as well as her sister's room (which she told him to avoid because her sister was no fun). Then she took Bob outside to play for a bit.
"Mom?" Reign looked at her mother, both sitting on the couch in the living room.
"Yes, sweetie?"
"Why did Ala name her dragon Bob? It's a silly name."
Niki smiled. "Well, apparently your sister doesn't think so. Don't say anything to her about it, please, Reign. She'll just get mad over it."
Reign frowned for a moment. "Okay..." A pause and then, "I wish her dragon had been a girl. Then I could've put ribbons on her."
The woman chuckled, then hugged her daughter. "Maybe I'll get you a little poodle to doll up."
Reign grinned. "Really?"
"Maybe, sweetie. We'll see."

Guess what, Journal! My dragon egg hatched. Mom took me to go see my dragon hatch at D-corp. We got to sit in a special room and then my dragon decided to take a while. Then he finally hatched! Mom said he's a boy dragon, so I named him Bob. I like that name and Bob does too!
We brought him home and I showed him our house. I even remembered to tell him all the rules me and Mom had made. He didn't seem to mind much. Then Mom brought in lots of her extra blankets and pillows and Bob and I made a nest of sorts. Right under my hammock.
I showed Eddy to Bob, but he didn't seem to interested. Maybe he was just sleepy? He didn't seem hungry. Maybe he'll eat breakfast, once he's gotten used to our house and being hatched and all.
After I showed Bob around inside, I took him outside to see the yard that me and Mom fixed up for him. He seemed a bit happier, then spotted this stick on the ground, which made him go bananas. He picked up the stick and was running around the yard with it in his mouth. I guess he wanted to play fetch.
I got the stick from him and threw it. Bob made the same noise that he did when I named him. Guess he did like fetch, though he didn't bring the stick back to me. I guess I'll have to explain how fetch works. Maybe tomorrow.

Okay, so I nearly strangled Ala's dragon the first morning we had him. I woke up to the sound of him making a sort of whining noise in the kitchen. I stumbled down the hallway, soon followed by my two girls, to find Bob peering out the french doors in the kitchen that open into the backyard.
Figuring he might just have to go out for the bathroom or something (hey, it'd be nice if he came house-trained...), I opened the door to let him out. He immediately rushed out, to suddenly stop and start licking the grass.
I'd had it for wierd things that early in the morning. The sun was barely up for crying out loud. I told Ala to let him back in and went back to bed. We'll just have to ask someone at D-corp about it later. And I think that just made up my mind for me about getting those doors put into Ala's room. I don't want to have to wake up to that every morning!

I was a bit surprised to have recieved this invitation from D-corp in the mail. I'd known about the Halloween Ball, considering Reign came from that museum, but didn't know that somehow D-corp had gotten involved with it.

Invite You and your child are invited to attend Dcorp's halloween activities at the address below. Please stop by D-corp on your way to receive a special goodie bag, candy, and food. The main event will be held at "Museum in Memoria" and they request for you to come in costume. Have fun, and happy halloween.
-Alan Rikery & D-corp
Of course, both girls were excited and wanted to go and I was stuck getting costumes made up for everyone. Ala wanted to be a pirate captain and turned Bob into one of her swabbies. Reign had nothing to do with her sister and wanted a frilly dress so that she could be a princess. I decided to just use some of the stuff I had and came up with a sort of purple Jedi outfit, complete with toy lightsaber.
We stopped by D-corp first to get the goodie bag for Ala. Reign decided to wait outside in the car. I think she's a bit wary of some of the dragons. So we then went on to the actual party. It was amusing, to say the least. Alaqua got a pirate crew of mostly other D-corp children together to go find some buried treasure (of the candy variety). Both girls got goodie bags there as well.

Ding, Dong, the Boss is dead...?
Nikiana was driving Alaqua to D-corp for another class. The Jeep's seats pretty much stayed permantently down for Bob to ride along, though the lone seat was left up for Ala to sit in. Reign got to ride in front, which made both girls happy.
Niki was a bit tired from the previous night. Halloween had been interesting this year. The party had definately been interesting, what with some of the kids brawling and knocking over the punch bowls and that man making a rather odd announcement. Reign had told her mother about Nara's disappearence and now it seemed that the man was somehow behind all of that.
None of the occupants noticed the gaping hole in the front of the building. Niki stopped the jeep near the front. "Have a good day, sweetie," she told Ala as the girl scrambled out of the vehicle, helping Bob out before closing the door. Nikiana watched the pair make their way towards the doors. She never left until they went inside and so when the two stopped and didn't go in, she wondered what was up.
Alaqua and Bob turned and headed back towards the car, the dragon looking rather happy. Niki rolled her window down. "What's wrong?"
"Classes are cancelled," Ala answered as she opened the door and helped Bob up into the car.
Niki wondered what was up and shifted the car into park. "You girls stay here. I'll be back in a second." She opened her door, ignoring the dinging sound made by the vehicle and headed towards the doors.
She quickly read the sign that had been handwritten and posted up. The doors, usually automatically opening when someone came near, were appearently turned off as they remained shut. The note only stated that all classes for the kids had been cancelled for the day.
Nikiana banged on the door, peering in to see if anyone was around. Finally, a D-tech emerged and Niki pounded harder. The tech sighed and walked over, hitting a switch to open the doors. "Building's closed for the day," he stated, a bit grumpy and looking as if he hadn't slept.
"Why?" Niki asked.
The tech blinked. "Didn't you see the huge hole in the building?" He seemed amazed that someone could miss it.
Niki was taken aback. "What? What happened?"
"Someone murdered the Boss. We've got a big mess to clean up and we've got to get it done today if we're gonna have classes again tomorrow..." The tech closed the doors and wandered back to where he'd come from, muttering something under his breath.
Meanwhile, Niki stood there in a state of shock. The boss... Alan... was dead? Moisture formed in her eyes and she quickly wiped it away, heading back to the jeep.
Nikiana managed to make it back home, keeping her emotions roughly under control. Once home, she shut herself in her bedroom and cried.
Alaqua and Reign glanced at once another. "What's wrong with Mommy?" The chimp girl asked her older sister. Their mother had never acted so oddly around them. She hadn't said hardly anything the entire trip home and now she had locked herself in her own room. "Is Mommy in trouble?" The young girl came to the most logical conclusion to her. She had to stay in her room when she was in trouble, so maybe that's why Mommy was in her room.
Ala rolled her eyes. "No, silly. Mommy's not in trouble."
"Then why's she in her room?"
"I... don't know." Ala frowned. "Let's just let Mommy be for now."
"Okay." Reign headed off to her room to play with her dolls, tiptoeing past her mother's room on the way.
Alaqua and Bob headed outside. Ala wanted to sit up in one of the trees and think. And Bob could run around and enjoy not having class. He was the only one in the household that was not bothered and rather content by the events. It meant that he didn't have to sit through a boring class.

I hate that woman! With her pink hair, one eye, and mean way of teaching. She didn't even teach me anything! All she did was make me climb a wall, then fall when she had that little midget of a dragon snap the rope.
Luckily Bob helped a bit. I can't exactly say that he caught me... but he did make my landing a little better. Then the woman got mad because Bob's too young to fly well and because I didn't say anything to her about almost killing me. She got mad because I didn't yell at her...? Something is wrong with that woman...
I am never taking another class with her again! There's another battle teacher, so I'll just have to go to her.

Homework
"Homework is to choose something you would want to cast a spell for, and describe how each necessary element of casting that spell might work. Also, write which element you believe would be best at, and why."
That was what was written in her magic notebook. Alaqua stared at the page for the longest time. What would she want to cast a spell for? This sounded like it was going to be hard.
Ala tapped her pencil eraser on the desk as she stared up at the wall. She wanted to go outside and play, but as soon as her mom had found out that she had homework, Ala had been shoved into her room and told to finish it before she could go out and play. And her mother would request to see her homework as soon as she appeared outside of the room.
The girl sighed. Oh how she wanted to climb up in a tree. She did better thinking there than in her room, but she knew her mom wouldn't let her do that. Suddenly a lightbulb went on over the girl's head. She put pencil to paper and started writing.
I would like to cast a spell to put a tree inside my room and have it really, really tall.
Okay, so now she had what she wanted to cast a spell for. So how would the different elements work on that?
Will: Focus on making a tree appear in my room.
That was one of the elements down, though she wasn't sure if that was right or not.
Imagination: Seeing a tree in my room that is taller than my room, but not going through the ceiling.
Procedure: Having some sticks and leaves from the type of tree that is wanted. Okay, so that finished up the first part. Now... which of those elements was she?
I think I would be best at imagination because I like to pretend and that is alot like imagination.
Alaqua frowned. She was done, but was that really correct? How was she to know? But, at least it was done and that meant she could go outside! She grabbed her notebook and waved at Bob to follow her. She raced outside, only pausing long enough to give her mom the notebook on her way out.

Sparring practice
She was supposed to practice at home, the man had said. But how was she supposed to practice without a staff? He'd taken hers back at the end of the class. Ala was in her favorite tree in the backyard with Bob resting in the shade. He was making some happy sounding noises, which Ala figured was another story or something.
Sighing, the girl leaned over to glance at where he was. What she saw surprised her a bit. The wyrmling had found a branch that had fallen out of a tree, it seemed. It was almost the length of the staff she'd practiced with in class.
Alaqua smiled and quickly climbed out of the tree. "Bob, let me see that."
The dragon gave a hiss, hovering over the branch protectively. He'd found it. It was his!
Ala sighed. The silly dragon had a whole bunch of sticks in his little nest in her room. "I'll give it back to you when I'm done, I promise."
Bob hesitated for a minute, then got up and stalked off to another part of the yard. Ala grinned and picked up the branch, quickly snapping off the little twigs. She'd asked her mom for a staff but had gotten a flat no as an answer. Of course, Reign had just recently asked for a set of throwing daggers. But Reign had gotten her weapon.
Ala sulked for a moment. It only made sense if she asked her sister to help her practice. It was hard to practice defending yourself if no one was attacking you. The koala girl carried her improvised staff over to the kitchen door. She opened the sliding door enough to stick her head in.
"REIGN!" She shouted into the house.
Ala was answered by her mother yelling at her to not yell in the house and the pounding of feet running down the hallway. Reign rolled her eyes at their mother's yelling about them tearing the house down. "What?"
"Wanna practice with me?" Ala asked, holding up her stick.
Reign raised an eyebrow. Though the marmoset girl had arrived at the house after Ala, the girl was already hitting her teens. So Ala's little sister was now becoming her big sister. Which was just downright confusing to everyone. "A stick?"
"It's a staff... Mom won't buy me one. C'mon, you can use your daggers if you promise not to try and hurt me." Ala pleaded. "I'm supposed to practice defense, but I need someone to attack me."
Reign perked up at the chance to use her new weapons. "Okay! I'll be right out. Let me go get them!" She then ran back down the hallway to her room, giving Nikiana another excuse to yell at the two girls. The woman was still yelling through her closed office door when Reign ran back by and went outside, closing the sliding door behind her.
Reign set the case down at the patio table just outside the kitchen door and took out three of the knives. One for each hand and one for her tail. "I haven't sharpened them yet," she told her sister. "So they won't cut you easily."
Alaqua nodded and the two moved out to the grass. Reign started off easy on her sister, to let her get used to the stick and the different type of weapon. And the fact that there were three of them.
Slowly, the attacks sped up as Alaqua got a better grasp on defending herself. Reign was moving about, which helped force Ala to move as well. She wasn't as stiff as a board, like she'd been in class. The less she was actually thinking about it, the better she got.
The two girls sparred for quite some time until they were interrupted by Niki coming outside. "Okay girls. It's time fo- ARE YOU GUYS FIGHTING?!" The last part was screamed. She'd been glad that they'd stopped yelling and running around the house and now she had found them outside fighting with weapons. "ARE YOU TRYING TO KILL EACH OTHER?!"
"Relax, Mom." Alaqua walked over to where Nikiana was about to freak out on them both. "My teacher said I needed to practice. Reign was helping me." If she mentioned it was schoolwork, it would go over much easier with her mother. Ala had learned this.
"BUT WITH ACTUAL WEAPONS?! WHY COULDN'T YOU BOTH JUST USE STICKS?"
"Because Reign isn't used to a staff. She learned how to use her knives. Besides, I don't even have a real staff... maybe if you bought two we could use those to practice with instead..."
Niki glared at the koala girl. "We'll talk about that later. It's dinner time. Reign, go put your knives away. Ala, get Bob to come on in. And both of you go wash your hands." With that, she went back inside to finish setting the table for their evening meal.

Hide-and-go-... smell?
Alaqua stood just inside the kitchen, waiting for Bob to return from hiding the bar of scented soap that they'd been working with lately. Her skills teacher had suggested they work at home and, for a lack of nothing better to do, Ala had decided to try it.
They'd started just hiding it in her room, but it was easy to find in there, since there were very few other scents in the room. And Bob had started running out of ideas on where to hide it. So they'd decided to move the game outside to the backyard. There were more places where the brass wyrmling could hide the soap and more scents to help throw off Ala.
The girl sighed, wondering how much longer it was going to be, when the young dragon popped his head into the kitchen and gave a sort of whoof sound. Alaqua grinned and headed out the door.
She wandered about the backyard a bit, having figured out a sort of routine to move around the area until she caught a trace of the scent. Bob was sitting just outside the door, watching the girl run around the yard with her nose in the air.
The first time Reign and Niki had seen Ala doing this, they'd both wondered about her. That was, until Alaqua explained what she'd learned in class that day and Reign had gone off to do something else and Niki had shrugged and gone back to her office.
Mom's been in her office a lot lately, Ala thought as she remembered that moment. I wonder what's up... The girl sighed and brought her mind back to the task at hand. She'd almost made a complete circle of the yard and hadn't caught even a whiff of the scented soap yet. Frowning, she circled the yard again, concentrating better this time.
"Bob..." the girl glared over at her dragon, who looked very pleased with himself. She sighed. Apparently he'd decided to make it very hard this time. "Is it in the backyard?" She asked, warningly.
The brass wyrmling nodded his head in response, but couldn't help but give a draconic laugh as well. Oh ho! He'd outsmarted the girl this time! He watched Ala circle the yard once again, slower and more carefully than before. He mustn't laugh and give anything away... but that was oh-so-hard!
Finally, Alaqua went over to where Bob was sitting, glaring at the dragon. "Are you sure it's back here?"
Bob nodded in response again, grinning at the girl. Ala groaned and flopped down beside the dragon for a moment to think. Where had the dragon hidden it? She sighed, then caught scent of the soap. She sniffed again and, with a glare at her partner, shoved Bob aside.
There, sitting on the slab on concrete just where Bob had been sitting lay the bar of soap. Bob was lying on the ground beside it, laughing like a madman. Ala glared at the dragon for a moment, then couldn't help but smile and then laugh with him.
"Good one, Bob." She patted the dragon's side, still grinning. "C'mon. Let's go inside. We've done enough practice for now. Besides, it's almost dinnertime."
The wyrmling perked up at the last comment and grinned, running past the girl to slip through the kitchen door before her. He thudded down the hallway, followed by Alaqua.
Niki yelled something about them not running, but it seemed the woman was just doing it now because she didn't want to let the kids know they'd won. She'd just about given up on making them not run in the house. Crazy kids. Why did they both have to grow up so fast on her? She missed the clinging to her stage.

Christmas!!
Niki awoke early to the girls pounding on her door. "Wake up, Mom!" Ala shouted. The mother groaned, glancing over at her alarm clock. It was 7:23. She grunted, slowly dragging herself out of bed.
"Hurry, Mom! We wanna open our presents!" Reign chimed in.
"I'ma comin'..." Niki told her girls, stumbling to the door. She was greeted by two very awake girls, both eager to open their gifts. "Let me go to the bathroom first..." She told them as they raced off to the living room.
Bob was already in the living room, sniffing at several of the boxes under the tree.
"Ala, get him away from those!" Reign complained. "He might break something."
The brass wyrmling snorted at the chimp girl, wandering over to his partner to flop down at her feet. Ala grinned and patted the poor dragon, glancing over her shoulder as her mother appeared.
"Okay, you two. Sit down on the floor. I'll start bringing your gifts over to you."
Reign and Alaqua scampered over to find spots on the floor. Bob didn't even bother to move and watched as Niki started picking up gifts and handing them one at a time to each girl.
Reign ended up with several new dresses and ribbons and accesories. Ala had some new jeans and a few new shirts. The two sighed as all they opened was clothes at first. Then Niki grinned and handed each a box with some holes in them.
Both girls blinked and opened their boxes. Reign's held a little reindeer imp and Ala's held a little reindeer dragon. Both girls grinned. "I name you Rudy," they declared in unison, then glared at one another while Niki burst out laughing.

After a moment, the two girls recovered. "Open up yours, Mom!" Reign declared.
Niki picked up her own gifts and took them to the couch to open while both girls watched. The first, from Reign, held a little imp of purple and white. The thing looked so sleepy. Niki grinned, "I'm gonna name him Li."

"Li?" Ala asked.
Nikiana grinned. "Yup, short for Lilac..."
Ala groaned, then encouraged her mother to open the one from her. Niki grinned and opened it up, blinking at the second little candycane-themed pet. "Hmm... I'll name him Stripe."

"Thank you, girls." Niki grinned and hugged her two kids, wondering at this sudden increase in the household, what with two more dragons (though little ones) and two imps.
Bob snorted, bored. So what was the big deal with all of this, anyways? Ala grinned. "Come on, Bob. We'll get you that steak that Mom bought for your present." The brass dragonet perked up at that and scampered into the kitchen.
