Ah, so she was covering a magic class once again. Sarah had the notes spread out before her and she now just had to wait for her five students to show up. She'd read up on them and noticed that two had not had any classes in the subject before. Two had had one previous class and the last had had several classes already. She just hoped she wouldn't be boring the last student too much. But going over the basics again, never seemed to hurt anyone.

Lucía is charmed she will have another magic class, shr alone has one before and the teacher was a little strict but for sure now she will make it better. She looks the number of the class and she checks that it is the same one that they have given her in reception "Ok Tia go to enter to class, behave well I don't want them to nag us" she think a little "well, at last not for you " she giggle.

"Hello this is the Magic class, I'm Lucia but call me Lu" She said while she enter the class with Tiamat folowing her.

A magic class Kliken thought to himself in awe as he walked down the hall with his dragon shuffling along at his side. He was so excited when he got news he got to go to such an interesting and grown up sort of class. He couldn't wait to learn! Due to it being a group class and as such during normal class out, he was dropped off by Than this time instead of by his mother. She was looking forward to hearing all about his class though, wanted him to do well and take lots of notes.

Not that he hadn't been planning on doing that already, he wanted to be able to do really well in every class he took so he made sure to have a notebook and a pen in his bag along with other school supplies, "Here we are, come on Tural." He said, calling over to the dragon who was pawing at some of the tiles on the ground, snuffling at them as though he found a scent that was quite interesting.

It was only after Kliken opened the door to the classroom that he realized the dragon was following a scent that went inside the room. There was more sniffing and then a squeaking chirp from Tural who was starring with wide eyes at the large dragon inside the class... then bolted forward toward her in excitment.

"N-No! T-Tural!" He cried, chasing after the Cruzoor who was in all ways fascinated with Lucia's white dragoness.

Oliver hurried down the halls, his cloven feet tapping softly as he watched the numbers on the doors. Life had been busy for the little camel recently, but he loved his classes, and was especially excited about learning some magic. Useful magic too, Kami had informed him, and not just tricks that magicians used. She had given him a nice new bag and a supply of new writing tools. This was the kind of class he might need them for, unlike melee and skills, where he would likely practice the ideas he learned without having to read or write much about them.

And of course, trotting loyally by his side, his dragon and good companion Trace, who was just starting to pick up the scent the Cruzoor dragon had left behind. "Hi!" he pipped as he looked up at Olly, who laughed a little and drew a hand down his neck. Trace was already starting to pick up short, simple English words, often saying them randomly, and with great pride and amusement.

"Here's the room. Yeah, looks like this is the right one." he said as he opened the door, smiling shyly at his teacher, and at the other students. "Hello. Magic class, right?" he said, sidling in. His face lit up as he spied the other dragons, and was unable to keep Trace from hopping over to meet them. "Wow..." he muttered, obviously awed by the beauty and size of Lucia's white dragon. He barely noticed the Cruzoor, and was equally intrigued, unable to figure out what species it was, as he was only aware of metallics, and chromatics.

Down the hallway, Ala wandered, glancing back over her shoulder at Bob occasionally. The brass had not been exactly fond of going to another class where he just had to sit and listen, but now he seemed more reluctant than usual. "What's wrong?" Ala asked as they found the classroom.

"Another brass... here." Bob answered, short for once. Ala chuckled and gave his shoulder a pat before opening the door. The pair made their way inside and the dragon glanced over for a moment to where the other dragons were all clustered before settling down around a desk.

Ala grinned and waved at Lucia, glancing up to the teacher. "Hey! You teach magic, too?" She'd had the teacher for a couple of biology classes previously. How odd...

The journey to the girls class was easier then the last classes she had to drag Red along to. The dragon liked the dark dreary dungeons of the magic class wing from his girls last class. Red wasn't putting up any fight this time about going to her class, her last magic class was nice and cozy, plus it was the mans day off of work today. And the thought of staying home alone with him wasn't his cup of tea.

Damaris was pretty enthusiastic about her class, a lot had happened in the past few months. However the traumatic episodes of her life were finally over so she was able to go back to her normal life and enjoyed doing so very much.

The girl walked into the class room with a smile and bright eyes glancing around at her classmates. She recognized a couple of them from previous classes and gave them small waves before recognizing Kliken.

"Kliken!" The girl said happily walking over to the boy and his rambunctious new dragon, "I haven't seen you in a while, how are you?" She asked, "That must be Tural!" She said noting the dragon the boy was trying to keep under control.

Ah, all of her students had managed to arrive on time. "Settle down, please!" She called out, waiting for her students to get their dragons under control and themselves seated. "I'm Dr. Sarah Walker and, yes, I teach magic as well." She smiled at Alaqua, then glanced at the entire class. "I'm a subsitute and do not proclaim myself a master of the magical arts. However, we'll be covering basics today, so notebooks out as I'm sure you'll want to be taking notes."

"Now most of you have very little or no magic experience so I expect some of this to be fairly new to you. Okay, who can tell me the two categories of magic users? Or at least is brave enough to give me a guess."

Oliver was happy to see a few relatively familiar faces. He knew Damaris, and Alaqua, and had to drag Trace to a desk, afraid that the two brass dragons would get into some long winded conversation, as brass dragons were so good at. Once Trace was calm, and sitting, he quickly took his notebook out, and a pencil as well.

It was true he didn't have any magical experience, but the least he could do was guess. He thought for a moment, and raised his hand quickly. "Offensive and defensive?" he asked, thinking perhaps that magic would maybe be somewhat like fighting. After all, there were stories, and games, in which people used magic for various things like battling.

There was a lot of activity all of a sudden, a lot of students and a lot of dragons and all of it had Kliken's head whirling. He hadn't been in such a big class before, the biggest group he'd been around was back when he in quarantine and he wasn't really feeling well enough to be nervous. Now though he felt quite out of place, unsure of himself, and nervous... until he heard a familiar voice. He turned quickly and found himself starring at someone he knew, "D-Damaris!" He said, feeling excitement rise in his chest, "Y-Yes, that is Tural!"

Before he could say to much more to her the teacher was calling for quiet and he did his best to get Tural under control. It took him a long moment before he was able to sit down in a seat next to the one person he knew in the class. He looked at the students who were here and felt very young... he reached down to lay a hand on the Cruzoor's head to help to steady his nerves.

Tural gave a disappointed chirp as he was stuck sitting next to his boy, he wanted to go and talk to the see the other dragons! There were so many of them and he'd never seen any other dragons before now! He could tell though that Kliken was nervous, more so now then in his other class so he would do his best to behave... so instead of wandering to the dragons he set to inspecting was nearest to him, snuffling at and licking what was in range.

The leech boy was digging into his bag to get out his notebook, he wanted to make sure to take excellent notes that he could study later. When he had his pen at the ready he looked at the teacher and for a moment struggle with the idea of being 'brave enough' to off an answer that could be wrong. He looked at Oliver when he gave a guess and lifted his hand to toss out a guess as well, he could do this... he could do this... he said it over and over in his mind like a mantra.

"Umm... H-Healing m-magic users and h-harmful magics u-users?" He guessed, quite proud of himself for getting out his thought when there were so many people around. It was always hard finding his voice when he was among strangers.

Ala pulled out a notebook and glanced back up at the teacher. Two categories of magic users?? She'd never really heard much on this before. Perhaps it was a good thing she was in this class after all. She'd debated skipping. After all, she'd had magic classes before. But, those had all been... rather boring, really.

She glanced at the two classmates that had ventured guesses. Those did sound like good answers.

Damaris wanted to do some catching up with Kliken but she knew class came first. His new little dragon looked so cute! Hopefully they could talk after class, "Uhm, white and black magic users?" Damaris said giving her guess as the others did.

Red had plopped himself down at the side of Damaris' desk. He figured that this class seemed to be just talking and writing, not like those stupid fighting classes where it was a bunch of screaming. Maybe he could get to sleep here.

Sarah was glad that they were all at least trying to figure it out. "All very good guesses, though not what I was looking for. I was looking for 'learned and innate'. It refers to how a magic user learns their spells." She turned and wrote both terms on the board, underlining each and listing a few things under each heading.

"In learned magic, a user draws upon an external source for power. Innate has two subcategories: internal and external. External is similar to learned magic in that the user has a leyline or node they use for power. Internal has three types: spiritual, intellectual, and physical."

Here she paused and turned back to the students. "Any questions so far?"

Kliken listened closely before he set to writing down a sort of flow chart of the information that the teacher was giving to them. It was a lot of information at once he thought to himself but at least after it was given to them they were allowed to ask questions if they had any. He looked over the flow chart he drew, tapping his pen against it and tried to decide if he had any questions.

He hesitated a moment before lifting his hand up and asked, "I-Is one magic p-preferable to another? O-Or is it a-a matter of t-taste?" He looked at the teacher and then back down at his paper to write down the answer she gave.

The boy was also curious about what sorts of magics fell under the three categories of Internal but would let others ask questions before he asked more. He didn't want to talk to much and make it harder for others to ask things of the teacher after all.

Oliver smiled a little. He had tried at least, but as the teacher explained he found it quite interesting. He quickly began to take notes, jotting down all the key points neatly. After a moment of thought, he decided to ask a question. He waited until Kliken was done before raising his hand.

"Can anyone learn either kind? Does innate magic mean that the magic comes more naturally to someone?" he asked. 'Innate' did, after all, mean inborn. He was sure he would be a magic learner instead of having innate magic.
