It was the same little corner cafe where they had held their first meeting, and several after. The dull worn beige of the mugs were as familiar as the sounds of chatter from the kitchen and the sizzle of the food on the kitchen skillet that crept its way through into the main dining area. She slid into that same booth seat where they had first met, delighted that it was free and accepted the offer of coffee but said she was waiting on someone when they offered a menu. Could they please come back, thanks so much. Her hands moved nervously over the fabric of her dress, creased and crinkly and black with just a hint of purple in the fabric. She'd added white...because Rea hadn't been there to see her turn towards the darker materials after she'd given up on...certain things in her life. No...she had high school responsibilities, a sister, and a team to think of...she didn't need to spend the rest of her life wishing.
She took a deep breath and folded her hands around the coffee mug and prayed that Rea, would not find her idea foolish.

It'd been a long time. Too long, in fact.
After what had happened, Rea had all but disappeared from the face of the earth. No amount of searching could have found her, no amount of begging could bring her back, save one voice, and even that was only temporary. It was not something she was proud of -- her eyes spoke volumes of this, even more distant than she had been before, her blue-green eyes more staring through you than at you at any given time -- but it was not something she could change either. Something inside her, inside Helios, had shattered along with Tartaros and the crystal of the shadow prince. She had felt the moment it had happened, a distinctly crushing jolt inside her chest, as if something had been ripped clean, leaving nothing but a phantom in it's place. The destruction of a crystal was always like that: devastating. And while it had not been her own prince's crystal, the dissolve of Tartaros, Elysium's other half, had left her unbalanced. It was more than unsteadying. Her whole world had been shaken at it's core.
She'd all but disappeared after that day. She had been there to watch her team mates wake from their comas, relieved but unshowing of it, and after the last one had proven safe, she had vanished. Chibiusa had been able to reach her in her dreams, but they were faded and distant, like a bad connection in a television. Her phone, senshi and otherwise, went straight to voicemail.
She needed something to bring her back.
She needed her team. But she also needed time.
And then, one day she was back. Not right away -- things went slow at first, that hesitation and distance still there. She started calling back those who had made the effort to leave her a voicemail, making arrangements to see them. Among them had been Ume, whom had seemed to have some sort of idea, although she hadn't divulged the information at the time. Still, that was just what she genuinely needed -- she needed to get her mind off of everything and start rebuilding.
Pushing open the door to the cafe, Rea's eyes drifted over the booths before locating the one Ume was in, recollection apparent in her expression as she went to sit down, sliding into the seat across from her teammate. The smallest of smiles curled the corners of her lips as she greeted her friend, slowly taking off the jacket she had been wearing to fight the bitter cold.
"Ume. It's nice to see you."

" Oh Rea, I'm so glad to see you again!" Ume said with a wide and genuine smile. She had to admire Rea's reserve, she always looked so calm and collected, though sometimes she wished the girl would smile just a little more. What troubled her behind those beautiful if sad looking eyes? "And thank you for coming, I was honestly beginning to worry you'd left town like...well..." She let her voice trail off and looked away. "Oh...do have a seat, I'm sorry, I don't mean to keep you standing, you have to tell me how you've been!" She said sounding quite interested. "And...then you have to give me a totally honest opinion of my idea...I'm sure it's... the soul of foolishness or arrogance, maybe both. But I just can't leave it circling in my head like this."

"Likewise Ume," Came Rea's soft yet heartfelt response, the words clearly warm towards her friend, her smile brightening just slightly. Ume had always been a sweetheart, and it was hard for her genuine kindness and contagious smile not to infect the room at any given moment, something not even Rea was immune to. Almost immediately the Senshi of Dreams began to relax, the muscles in her shoulders untensing as she seated herself politely across from the other girl. Her posture relaxed considerably, she laced her fingers together as she got comfortable on the slightly-squeaky plastic chairs, resting her forearms on the table in front of her, staring back at the
She wasn't sure what she had been expecting. Some sort of scolding? Resentment for leaving? Hatred or loathing? Maybe from Delphine, but when she really thought about it, she just could not imagine it from Ume.
Rea was taken a little off guard as Ume continued, catching herself before she said of course she would come and realizing that lately, she hadn't been, her expression falling for half a second before she masked it, smiling again as the other asked her how she was. "Well, actually. Certainly glad to see you again. I've... really missed you. You and the rest of our team," she started, finding that she genuinely DID miss them. It'd been a long, lonely few months, "But yes, tell me about your idea... I'll admit, ever since I heard you mention it over the phone I've been curious. And don't you dare say it's foolish or arrogant -- I can't believe that at all."
Offering her a slightly scolding look, she shifted a bit to lean in, intrigue and interest showing through behind her blue-green eyes.

"well I..." she started and then plucked up a long strand of dark hair to twist it between her fingers. She was trying after all to be more serious with her life. Too much had happened for her to not at least try... and perhaps she would always seem 'too nice' because it was simply the core of her, the one thing that would never -really- change. "I don't think that Delphine will like it, I mean... she's really not a... 'people person' is she." This was said with at least some tint of regret...Ume very much wanted everyone on the team to get on, but there had been that 'incident' where Rea and Del had fought yoma to see if Nem would stay.
"But... I was thinking. I've been out on my own a few nights, not to... ditch the team!" She said hurried. "But... just to look around, it's been...odd I admit. But, anyhow, wh...what I was thinking. What I had been doing that I think we could ALL do...even Delphine if she WANTS to... is..." She took a deep breath and exhaled. "I'd like for us to split up some nights, and look for new senshi and help THEM...I thought, since most of us are Super, and you're eternal that... we could form temporary...even transient smaller teams of new senshi to get them used to working together, and at the same time we can use our own experience to -help- them. They need to know how dangerous it is but they need encouragement too... getting them used to working in teams I think...would...maybe lower our injury rate too. " she said and twisted that long strand of dark hair in her fingers before resting her hands on the counter again giving her best serious look. Even with her kind eyes, they were intense and serious.

"Delphine can deal with it," Rea replied casually, looking unperturbed by Ume's worry about their teammate disapproving. As it was, Delphine disapproved of quite a lot, and the redheaded Marshall girl had many a time argued with her over her blunt opinion, not just that one time when she had threatened to leave the team, often which resulted in many scowls on both sides.
Lifting her eyes to thank the waitress who returned with Ume's coffee, she smiled politely and nodded when she asked if she would like some coffee as well, waiting until the girl was a good distance away before looking back towards her friend, clearly interested in what she had to say. In fact, the more she said, the more thoughtful she looked. It was only until she was sure Ume was completely finished that Rea finally smiled, looking away for a moment and shaking her head, looking like she was making a serious effort not to chuckle.
"Ume, don't ever stop being so sweet," she finally replied with a smile, lifting her gaze back to the senshi of blood, "We need more people like you on our side." Shifted a bit on the slightly squeaky rubber seat of the booth, she reached into the pocket of her coat to grab her senshi-phone, setting it down on the table in front of them. To anyone else, it looked like a regular, albeit possibly boring-looking, teal and light blue phone, not garishly outdated yet certainly not as fancy as the new ones they were cranking out -- perfect for not attracting too much attention. Not that she thought anyone else but a senshi could use it. Tapping a finger onto it, she gave Ume an equally-serious look now, giving the idea the attention it deserved.
"That's a great idea -- with the negaverse as structured as they are, now more than ever we need to work together and help newer senshi. I can't remember a lot of the senshi I've met, but if you use the phones, you could track down and contact a lot of the others we've met, who can in turn give you some names. I'm sure the rest of the team will be up for it also, you should bring it up next meeting."

Ume sagged back in the booth looking relieved that her idea hadn't been called foolish. "I'm sure I'm not the only one thinking it, but we're such an old team I just..." She dipped her head and laughed blushing. "You need people who can fight too like Delphine, she may be... a little hard to deal with at times, but she does fight for all she's worth."
"But your right, your right..." She nodded looking more pleased and confidant. "I'll try... I was talking it over with Lyra too just to...get my head on and she liked it too. Be sure ONE of us will say it I swear it."
