Daniel really hated coming out of the library this late. He really hated it. Pretty much hated being outside after night had fallen, even thought not even the day was safe... case and point, the monster that had jumped him the other day.
The bruise from where the strange man had tackled him down to keep the thing from eating him were still hurting... But he did his best to ignore it. He looked carefully. At least there didn't seem to be anything out for him.
That was when he started walked. He only needed to get to the bus stop... Only that far, then he'd take the bus home...
Maybe he should just have asked Mr Darrow to give him a ride home ? He probably would have gladly done so, but.. Daniel hated to impose.
That was true. There was no youma following Daniel that night.
What was trailing him could in fact, be considered as even worse. The aura didn't reach any farther than a lt's aura would have - but it was twisted, broken, and highly noticeable. A never ending swirl of light and darkness.
Not all monsters were made of scales and tentacles.
Not all senshi were paragons of light and justice.
Two things that the skittish-looking boy padding down below simply wouldn't be aware of. Alunite watched from his perch on the library roof as Daniel exited, looked both ways, then finally decided to adventure forth.
...This one looked familiar. Hell, he was pretty certain he'd seen this hair before. School ? Maybe. Hell, who cared ? Alunite rarely went for men - it was much less... questionable if someone caught a glimpse of him luring a woman back into an alley, after all.
But hell... This was practically free energy. He'd be a fool to let it slide through his fingers.
And so Alunite started to trail Daniel, from his vantage point on the rooftops. Just a little further... There was an alley just a little further. He'll just have to jump down, make some noise, and the boy just might be stupid enough to look.
Most of them were.

She felt...energized. She had a reason to go out again, a reason to patrol with her eyes... OPEN, rather than just making the motions. It was invigorating She passed the Library, the first place she had ever engaged a Nega in battle... she'd been -creamed- by a squeaky hammer... fortunately the lawn showed no sign of the old impacts to remind her, or anyone else.
But the night held something else... a feeling... It wasn't quite 'nega' but it was... it was more like Lyra had felt to a much lesser degree.
She moved closer, cautious lest the heels of her boots on the pavement give her away, the long back hem of her skirt brushing her legs as her hand drifted almost automatically towards her brooch.

Sure enough. This was all going too perfectly. He mentally cursed when he felt a senshi aura enter the zone, as it were. Better get this done fast and get the hell out.
He'd been just about to jump down when he had felt the senshi, but now he did - just as Daniel was passing the alleyway.
The sound made Daniel stop - looking back in the alley. Oh, god, not another monster. s**t. s**t s**t s**t...
He didn't get time to react, through - something graped him, and an hand was clamped down on his mouth before he could scream in surprise. His mind screamed at him to flee, and he tried - but his black clad kidnapper had an iron grip on him, in spite of being much smaller.
An easy grap, in spite of appearances - now he was dragging him back as far as he could in hopes to buying himself more time - then once he got into position, he started focusing on draining.

Had she just seen? She thought she had, someone being dragged into the alley, her heart accelerated and her boot heels clacked as she hurried forward. She didn't dare use her attack too soon, Didn't dare use it if she might hurt the civilian too... in fact, perhaps he was too heavy on her mind but it almost looked like...
Daniel.

Click click click...
Damnit, already ?! Well, at least this one was kind enough to announce her arrival... He shifted slightly, trying to hide in the shadows as long as psosible. Looked like he wouldn't be able to get a whole lot of energy out of this one, but it was better than nothing.
If he actually had a quota to fill, then he might have been a little more nervous about it.
No matter how much he tried to kick and struggle, he just couldn't seem to be able to get away. Had he not been so scared, he might have thought it odd - since the other guy was much smaller than he was. Not that Daniel was strong, but he should have been able to at least get away, right ?
But then... Then it just started not to matter. Fatigue and exhaution started to take over with every second that passed. He didn't see anything, didn't see the small pearl of energy growing in Alunite's free hand. His struggled slowed, then ceased completely. What was gonna happen now... ?
The last thing he saw before passing out was a dark-haired woman entering the alleyway.

She had to bite back hard on calling his name, for a panicked moment she thought he might be dead like the early days of fighting the negaverse, where one must recover a starseed within minutes to save the lives of civilians... but she didn't see the familiar glow, it rekindled her hope but did not extinguish her anger.
"You... picked the wrong area of town to go hunting I'm afraid." She said coldly.

There were little warning bells going off in the back of Alunite's mind.
Not so much by her attitude, per-se, but by the feel of her aura. Now that they were face to face, it was evident that her's was stronger than his own. How stronger ? Well, he didn't see any sight of the so-called buttwings. He'd honestly through people were shitting him until he met Ammolite. Buttwings, ugh.
So he could make an educated guess, and it probably would be better not to overstay his welcome, through if he could get away without blowing his attack, or even worse, a teleport...
"Look, chill. He's going to be fine." She seemed... well. The page he had met hadn't seemed so personal about it. He still wasn't letting Daniel go. Human shield ? Perhaps.

"Will he?" She said coldly. "Will he be able to walk the streets at night without worrying that someone will pull him down an alley, and do strange things to him? Things that he'll only be able to guess at while he tries to count his blessings that he survived not to be a lesson for the newest members of Destiny City CSI?"
Her chin lifted, something proud there and determined. "Maybe you shouldn't have touched him at all..." Her head tipped, a wave of black hair sliding around her shoulders as crimson eyes narrowed. "Don't worry... you'll be 'fine' too... I've yet to meet anyone who made me want to stoop to killing, but if you don't let him go... that might change."

Jesus christ, b***h is psycho. Hell, one would think he'd just tapped her boyfriend or something ! If he didn't want into trouble, he just had to not be out at night. He didn't mention that, through. 'Cause hell... she looked very, very serious.
There was one thing for sure - no civilian was worth this much trouble. So Daniel was let down. Hell, he even did so somewhat gently, in spite of his annoyance. Mentally he was still trying to will Fluorite's aura into existence, but it didn't look like it was gonna happen.
So he let the boy down.
Then bolted as fast as he could, back to the rooftop.

"BAD BLOOD!!" the words chased him up to the roof top, and so did she after a quick check on his pulse. She chased him up the nearest fire escape with the intent to make sure this never happened again. Her pulse thundered, she could imagine quite a lot... the sound of the wells on her planet, the sensation of her blood though her veins, it made her so aware of her power, she felt the tentative first steps of 'reconnection'.

Oh crap, she was following him.
Oh crap, <******** needles made of blood
b***h was definitively psycho !!!!
He didn't get to dodge. The needles sliced through the clothing of his tunic, and the bodysuit underneath - leaving little faint traces on his midsection. That particular blood wasn't her own.
And that was where anger took over, and Alunite lost sight of what he should be doing - running the ******** away. b***h wanted to play with blood ? Fine.
He kept on running, hoping to close enough distance... Then he stopped to try for his attack. "Umbra Eclipse !"

"Bad Blood RIBBONS" She called, launching a strange new assault, the blood did not leave her fingers as needles this time, no, this time it was a slender red lash like a whip, snapping forward towards him in an attempt to disrupt his would be attack. She didn't stop to think what it might do... or why... she didn't care she just wanted him to know who she was messing with.
"How does it feel to be HUNTED?" She called to him as the slender cord snapped.

There had to be something he could use on this damn roof, right ? Eventually he spotted a loose brick near him, so he went for it and threw it.
He couldn't help but hope she'd get hit square in the face.

"Because..." She said and ducked, rolling away from the launched brick in a tumble of black skirts and lace with the bare flashes of white of her corset peering through... "Because... darling, I can draw YOUR blood out for an attack."
She let her tongue flick out between her lips as though she were a great deal more blood thirsty than she was. "I am the senshi of blood...your blood... my blood... it doesn't matter, if you are an enemy or a friend you're ALL donors to me.Our most precious currency and I'm it's banker..."
She stood carefully. "Run... there are scarier things in the night than you this evening..."

Use his...
Oh god. Gross gross gross gross gross.. It didn't help that he was, in fact, bleeding. How ******** convinent. For her, that is.
There was the possibility she was trying to scare him, that it wasn't true at all. But the true question was - did he want to figure it out ?
No, he decided he didn't want to. He didn't run - almost as if to taunt her. He remained standing there, hand clutching the bleeding cuts on his left arm, and stared dead on at her.
It was easy to be cocky when one was stronger, but one day... one day, the odds might be even. And then, well... Things would be much different.
Then his form rippled, and he was gone.
