There was a threat of a storm in the air, it hung with humid growling promise in grey skies to which the city lent an eery yellow glow. It was as though the world itself were sick and malcontent, growling and turning in the depths of some night terror that gnawed at the edges of its sanity.
Sweat ran down the back of his neck and vanished under the line of his collar, a tickle, an small irritation compared to the small biting things that lingered in the air seeking a good and easy meal.
He swept his long bangs behind one ear, for as long as they would say and smoothed a hand over the pages of his notebook, the corners curled, and while it was still functional he could feel the way the humidity had saturated the paper.
"...Are you ready?" He asked his young companion as he pulled free a pen and tested it, scrawling a loop in the upper most corner where it could be torn easily free without marring the integrity of the notes to come.

The weather was, for lack of a better word, gross. Gross as hell. Storm was in the air, and Destiny City was going through the sort of humidity the east coast of north america was known for - it clung to your skin and practically tried to sink into your very pores.
When you were pretty much wearing all black, it only got worse. Through, in a way, his bodysuit helped keeping both the humidity and bugs out,
"I am." He took a moment to wipe the sweat off his forehead with an ample sleeve. "Through if nothing shows up, im gonna be pissed..." Really. The weather was gross.

"As though the buisy bodies could resist... the city is -swarming- with the moon princesses little minions, it should be like kicking an ant hill." He replied amused. The sky rumbled its discontent again, chasing a distant flash of lightning that danced from cloud to cloud.
"Just give it time..." He reminded, and in a lesson of patience...he waited.

How well things had gone of late, how ironic that was the last thought that flickered through her mind before she caught the traces of a powerful 'darkness' nearby. She summoned her senshi-cell phone and moved to investigate. She couldn't in good conscience just let it stand. She had always been just a little foolish that way. There were risks one should not take when you were 'only' a super senshi... chasing down the aura of a general and company was one such.
She was in greater luck than she knew to have approached 'this' one... the Small man had other ideas about the night than fighting her.

It wasn't long before a senshi aura came into their range, through it took a little longer for said senshi to be visible.
And what a senshi it was, indeed. Her. Good lord, it was her.
Alunite's face changed when saw her - surprise, and then a smirk. This one... He had a score to settle with this one, really. If there had been any doubt that MuCephei had been the senshi he'd met the night he'd emergency-teleported right in front of Zinkenite, it vanished the second that smirk crossed his face.
Gross weather aside, the night had just gotten better.
Still, he waited for the general's signal, then he moved, carefully, a few rooftops away. Sure, there was no hiding Zinkenite's aura, but he did not want to reveal his hiding place.
"Well, well, well." He called out from where he ended up standing, on top of a roof, clear into view. "If it isn't the scariest thing wandering the streets of Destiny City at night..."
His voice was bold, cocky - too cocky for him, really. Zinkenite would notice. MuCephei ? Doubtful.
Hanging out with a theatre girl taught you a thing or two in the long run.

Zinkenite glanced between them, a pause, a smile and he stepped backward and spread his hands almost invitational. "I see... this should...really be interesting." He chuckled. There was nothing quite like Vendettas.... personal grudges to bring out the most in people.
"You madam... are MuCephei... Senshi of blood, and I see you two know each other, but I think you remember me too...don't you. I seem to have...outstripped you... so it wouldn't quite be fair to take you on myself... but I'm curious how you've grown..."
"You..." She said her voice growing cold. It wasn't clear who she meant though, her gaze passed over both of them with a familiar distaste. "...Last time I saw you...short thing, you were about to be kissed by that...glittering cardian, kiss you...or bite you hard to say, Didn't know the negaverse was so into twilight." She said as her hand flicked to her pendant.
"And... you....well, You look a little different, Had enough yanking young boys down alley ways?... the negaverse frowning on 'that kind of behavior' so they gave you a baby sitter?"
Yes it was abnormally catty for her, but she was trying to make them mad. She had learned the hard way that being mad threw her off her own game.. . so why wouldn't it work for them?

...Alunite might have had a few choice words to give on the kind of behavior the senshi was referring to, but he said nothing. He did look clearly amused before he pushed the thought away.
Some nights, he did wonder if he was the only straight male in the negaverse.
"I don't know, you seemed to care a whole lot about that young boy... Didn't you ? In fact..."
And then he said nothing else. Maddeningly so. Let her draw her own conclusions... If she did the work of freaking herself out for him, then all the better.
He jumped, landing down a few meters in front of her. He couldn't focus on the heat now, or the fact that the storm looked more and more imminent.
He had a dance to dance.

"And what would you know of caring... like this... I wonder if even that has been twisted in you. Don't you -feel- how different you are? Don't you feel at -all- that you're hurting people?"
She shook her head, a long sweep of black that blended with the drape of her fabrics except the bold white. A hero's color once upon a time...but even movies had chosen a new color for their heros...
"Bleed for me...maybe then you'll start to understand." She said coldly and stabbed her finger on her brooch pin. "BAD BLOOD!" The needles were cast forward in a stinging barrage.

This time, he knew what to expect. He just had to push the squick factor down for the time being.
The barrage was more or less avoided, through a few pierced clear holes through his sleeve - it had been an incredibly close call.
"Is that what you tell yourself to make you feel better ?" He asked. "What do I know about caring, you ask ? Well... I don't torture and starve people to near death, for one..."
He rushed forward, aiming to kick her in the stomach.

"Oh you poor deluded thing...does your hair grow strait through your brain? Neither...do... I" She snarled. "I don't rip the lives out of people's chests and leave them in comas, I don't make people come up missing never to be seen by their families or loved ones ever AGAIN."
She tried to catch his foot but ended doubled over with the wind driven out of her and still trying to hold onto the leg to twist him off balance.
"Sit... DOWN." She said turning to try and lead him off balance with the extended leg.

"Oh, do you now ?"
It was hard to keep on his composure, hard not to give in to the baiting. "What about those who've died ? Those who where tortured for weeks by your comrades ? Those who will never be the same simply because they happened to have information ? Or is that different because we do not agree with your views ?"
She did hit, but his arm lashed out - if he was going down, then so was she. If he managed to get a grip, he would try to fling her at the wall as hard as he could.
"The senshi are not blameless, either... Atrocities does not happen only on one side." He said.

"You're right... but we aren't like you, if what you say IS true and not some delusion to make you stop question what's good and right... then there is no excuse for it, we should be trying to SAVE you not kill you... MY leader has not done these things, my Lady would never condone such, she might make mistake but only because we are HUMAN."
She squeaked and rolled over the gravel, it tore at her skirts and exposed skin but she came up bleeding, "...Thank you, I hate that pin..." She said almost calmly. "Bad Blood!!" The fingers dipped to brush against a runlet of blood that ran down her leg and pulled free the slender red 'whip' to lash out towards him.

"General... if you would be so kind as to tell our... lady what you have seen ?" He hadn't been there, then.
But he'd seen one thing.
He rose his arm to block the whip, it left a slice through his sleeve and bodysuit, small beads of reds peeking underneath, but still less damage than if she'd hit his chest.
"I have seen the graves, through I am certain that will not be... 'tangible' enough for you." He snorted.

Zinkenite waved a hand almost casual though his eyes were cold and brooding. 'She won't believe you Alunite... the senshi Divide themselves into Chaotic 'factions'... she's not of the Blood Moon court...though I see by that look in her eyes... she knows of them." He looked pleased with that result. "What's the matter dear girl... too much blood even for you? I might have thought you could be their mascot."
Her eyes widened, and then darkened at the words. "Yes... I know if them, and I turned down their invitation to 'join'... too much like you, only they perhaps talk less...If I didn't believe that under all that dark and chaos that there might be good people..." She shook her head. "If I didn't believe...I might start to wonder if you were 'worth' trying to help...so full of yourselves and your accusations of damage... you're reaping what you sewed into the world, you just can't SEE that."

There was a part of Alunite that still clung to this faint hope, the hope that somehow he could talk to them... make them see reason... Somehow... But the more senshi he met... The more senshi he fought... The more it seemed like the individuals who would listen and, most importantly, understand, were few and far in between.
Perhaps too few and far in between to truly brother.
"...I wish they would understand." There was some melancholy in his voice, through it was at either of the other's words, or to his own thoughts, it was unclear.
She wasn't focusing on him, through... So perhaps... "Umbra Eclipse..." He called on his own attack, as softly as he probably could.
If she wouldn't listen, then they had no other choice to fight.

"Funny... that you say that." She said sounding sad in turn... though perhaps for the first time she wondered if neither side saw clearly, what if they were both changed by the nature of their powers... what if.
Power corrupts... power changes people, universal truth.
"But what would you -do- if I listened...if I stood and spoke... I can't trust you, I'm sorry... " She shook her head taking a step back.
