Bree pushed her glassed up onto her nose as she scanned the titles of some of the books. The section she was in was filled with both new books and old leather bound titles that where falling appart. The occult section, holding a little bit of everything from Kappas to Vampires and more.
The dust in the air made her sneeze a little bit she shook her head and reached for a title that she hadnt seen before and looked interesting. "100 Vampire stories. A collection of myths and legends." she murrmered quietly as she knelt down to get it.

 Ume twisted thoughtfully with a strand of hair as she wandered into the library, She'd finished "The Woman who Swallowed a toothbrush" again and it was nearly -nearly- due back and so she had used it as an excuse to get out of the house. Besides, with that book finished she'd need a new one, or three. Her first stop was to check and see if "Emergency!: True Stories From The Nation's ERs" was still available, to her delight it was too, honestly... she had the best luck with books. They were seldom checked out when she went looking. "What else?" She murmured and trailed her fingers along the spins of the books. Not another medical book, not yet, she had 'Dead men do tell tails' at home, it was a gift and she -should- finish reading it before she picked up too many more of those. Occult then, she craved something delightfully dark. She twisted her hair again distracted as she turned through the stacks towards the section she wanted, and blinked surprised to see someone she thought she knew from school, the quiet girl with -amazing- red hair and glasses. She moved cautiously closer to see what she was crouching to get, B... her name started with a B... something like, cheese wasn't it? ((sorry! I hope thats alright XD <3))

Hearing the foot steps down the isleway Bree grasped the book and held it to her chest almost protectively as she turned to see who it was. She flashed a sheepish smile as she backed away from the row of books to allow accsess now that she had selected the one she wanted. "Hi" she said. Not many others frequented this section so she was generally surprised.
She tilted her head a little bit, she recalled seeing the girl before but didnt know if they had formally ever met. She fidgeted with the book a little in her arms and cleared her throat dropping her arms in front of her in a less protective manner, trying to play it cool. "Can I help you find something?" she asked.

Ume rocked back on her heels for a moment thoughtful of what to do.
She moved forward again a few steps though, deciding. "I was just curious what you picked up, I didn't recognize the cover."
She tilted her head and leaned boldly forward to try and read the spine... and then beamed. No she didn't recognize that one at -all-
"I don't know that one!" She said in delight, straitening to share her enthusiasm that it was -NEW-
"May I borrow it when your done? I mean, when you return it, can you tell me?" She lifted her own book to her chest and squeezed it slightly excited.
She paused again and leaned back slightly before pointing vaguely at Bree with an almost 'royal' air "Bree!" She said sounding quite pleased
"Right?" She asked settling back into a more casual pose than she had struck a moment before when she had guessed at the name, even if it did have something more of the nature of a pronouncement than a guess.
"Ume..." She added without much waiting for a response

Her emotions snapped shut like a clam, what if she wanted the book. Bree had been so excited to find it and she didnt want to give it, now that would be rude wouldnt it if she refused? She bit down lightly on her lower lip in silence as the other girl exaimed the title of the book as her mind ran rampent with possable outcomes and how it would be best to address herself.
The girls face was alight with delight, oh now she would have to relenquish the book to her. Inwardly she whimpered a bit, what to do what to do. When Ume stated that she would like to know when She was done Bree didnt know how to react. That hadnt been one of the things she had played through in her mind. "Oh... Oh of course!" she said a small smile pulling at the corner of her lips. "It looks like it has alot of good stories in it." she said looking down at the book again and running her thumbs over the corners as she held it.
As Ume exclaimed her name she jumped a little and took a step back involintarily. "y-yes" she asked wide eyed before she got the idea of what was going on. She chuckled and relaxed again, she didnt need to be so high strung. "Nice to meet you Ume." she said and held out her hand. "I just finished one on the basics of demons." she said absently, curious if she was interested.

Ume's eyes sparked with interest "Did you already read the one on ghosts? I love the section on poltergeists! And the sub section on that hidden room! with the..." She trailed off putting her hand to her lips for a second to stifle herself.
"Sorry! If you haven't read it I don't want to spoil it!"
She then turned her own book to face out and up for Bree to read it's title. "The medical section, has some amazing one's too if your interested, people always over look it. But theirs so many links to the occult, and some things that are just -amazing- on their own!"

Bree had read many ghost stories and she tried to recall if she had come across the one Ume was discribing. Her memory was far from photographic, and while parts seemed familure others didnt. The part with the hidden room sounded very good to say the lest, even if she had read it before, a second time would do no harm. "I..dont remember." she said at length after searching her memory. Her index finger lightly tapped away on her chin. "I really should check out that one next though, no reason to chance missing a great story!" she said with a grin.
Blue eyes feel on the book in Ume's hands. Stories about ghouls and ghosts where one thing but when they came to real people well that was both squeemish and fasinating. "Really...." she said tilting her head a little. "to be honest I have never thought to look there. Thanks for the tip!" she said grinning again. She was relaxing, this girl didnt think her tastes where strange and for once she didnt try and find herself hiding it under the ruse of a book report.

"here!" She said and reached up to hook a book with her index finger over the edge of the spine and slip it gently free of the shelf. A worn blue cloth binding, the paper slip cover lost even with its one time plastic covering.
"True Ghost Stories" was the title and she flipped quickly to a page with a crude illustration of a wall half torn down to show a smaller room littered with children's drawings.
"It's like those books, flowers in the Attic but not... like a soap opera! And so much more interesting ..." She beamed

"Oooh." she said as she watched Ume drop the book down expertly. She studied the image for a long time and grinned at last. "no, I havent read this one before." it was like unearthing some rare new marvel. Her fingertips began to drum lightly against the spine of the vampire book still clutched in her arms. Did she wish to read about vampires or ghosts? This was a rare dilema.
Even though Ume already had one of her medical books in hand she pondered a moment. "well...what do you say to a trade then. I'll take the ghost book and you have the vampire book. I'll just read the vampire one when you are done. That way we both get a book we havent read before." she said.

Ume's eyes widened for a moment and then she smiled widely. "I can't just... take your book! Your allowed to rent more than one you know!" Her red eyes sparked with the delight at finding a fellow aficionado.
"Besides! then you'll have two you haven't seen! And I'll finish the book I just got from my Mother!" She beamed, "And if your interested, I'll lend that when your done! It's all about the study of bones to find out how people died! they can solve crimes that happened centuries ago! Can you imagine?"
She paused still smiling to n** at the edge of one of her fingers, she -did- want to see the book, but she didn't want to take it away either, Bree had first claim, and now she knew it was -there-... and, she knew someone else who liked them! Better and better.
"Have you read these for a long time? I thought I was one of the only ones who read these! Well... besides some of the -boys- I mean" She beamed.

Bree ran her fingerstips over the spine of the vampire book as she looked at the ghost book in front of her. Choices choices! She bit done on her bottom lip lightly, after all she had offered and Ume declined. "well then I will be sure to let you know when I am done." she said with a grin. Now the biggest dilema was to choose which one to read first when she had a chance. Vampire novels could be wonderiously graphic but ghost stories had a certain quality to them as well.
She held the books infront of her and lightly swayed a little from side to side causing her skirt to flutter around her legs. "Oh no, I like these books alot and read them often. I just normally select a book and go." she said but left it at that not wanting to bather on about how she was embarrased about what people might think.

Ume smiled again and nodded, "I linger... It gets some odd looks sometimes, but I think the people who stare the hardest are curious about the books themselves" She gave a light laugh and flipped at a strand of her hair with the back of her hand to flip it back over her shoulder where it belonged.
"We should start a club!" She beamed, "Even if it's just the two of us I bet we both know books the other hasn't read! Oh! you have to come see my book shelves at home too!"
Her hand touched light as a feather for just a moment against Bree's sleeve before darting back birdlike but without any embarrassment at the intrusion into personal space.
