UPDATE #3:

As a result of a majority of CWA's content being in late 2012 and little being part of 2013, it has been removed from the list. LWL has been finished.

I took the time to look through other content. LESBO, IWA, and CWL do have content in 2013, but not enough to warrant proper spots on this list. I may make a "Miscellaneous" section, but it is doubtful.

WWE:E will probably be done tonight. Once completed, all that is left is my personal formatting, then the Best of 2013 will be complete, as far as my opinion goes. Always willing to take other input. smile

UPDATE #4:

I keep doing these when I'm sure no one's reading. WWE:E is finished. As of now, everything that I think should be on here has been linked. If you think I missed something, feel free to tell me WITH a link to said match/promo/segment. I will be reformatting it shortly to a "DVD-esque" format. Stay tuned for Update #5.

Thanks for taking the time to do all of this, Matt. I almost forgot about my matches with Jed, but then again, that guy has had a good match with a broom has he not?

But I love reading these. Here's to 2014 gentlemen

That's why I made this. Too much gets forgotten over the year that really should be remembered. Promos especially; I saw so many pieces of work that I had forgotten about, or never seen. With 2014 already underway (and me probably starting that list early to keep track of things), I can assure you that a lot more will be kept in memory.

A lot of great work's in here, and I hope to see it double in size with 2014.

I'm considering going back to 2012, and possibly 2011 but I doubt I'll go too much further than that. The issue with back tracking that far is searching the guilds that are defunct now.

What I may do (and this is totally just an idea in the air) is back track through the currently living guilds. That would mean essentially EWA, WWF:G, and WWE:E, as they're really the only ones that go back past 2013 and are still active, to my knowledge.

If I do that, then I will occasionally showcase a defunct guild's history in a similar format, but go from the very beginning of it to the very end (IE, GWWF, EEW, etc). If that's done, it'll be something you see happen over the course of this year and probably take more time than to release than this one has. I really would like to touch on older pieces though.

UPDATE #5:
Here's that DVD format I promised you. It's more of a commercial for said DVD, but I think it's entertaining enough. I hope you enjoy. smile

Total time on this project as a whole: 11 hours on the dot. Do you have any idea how much actual work I could've gotten done? I wouldn't be behind in school if I was this productive!

[Begin Feed]
- A BAD BLOOD WRESTLING PRESENTATION-

The feed begins in a large, dark room with various lamps secured to poles, providing the proper lighting. Massive banners hung on the background with the initials BBW, EWA, LWL, WWE:E, and WWF:G all displayed to depict the different federations. In the forefront was a large counter, with other counters surrounding it in a big circle; in the center of them was none other than Matt Shanahan.

"All that glitters is not gold," he whispered in an ominous tone with a brooding look on his face. In an instant, it faded and his face twisted into the classic smirk he became known for through the years, "What's up guys? You know who I am, but in case you don't, I'm Matt Shanahan. I'd love to be that guy that just lists his achievements to let you know how revered he is, but with this face, you should already love me. Anyways, I'm not here to break character without a proper reason; you fanboys at home can go ahead and claim this to be non-canon," Matt shot a wink at the camera with a light chuckle, "But this video wouldn't be nearly as fun if I were. As I'm sure you can see behind me, we've got banners displayed of some of the most known federations of the recent era. Bad Blood Wrestling, Evolution Wrestling Association, Lethal Wrestling... League, I think, WWE: Evolution, and WWF The Guild. That's because during the year of 2013, these companies have made some of the biggest splashes in our industry."

"Normally, we see this at the heralded Best in The Business awards. We all view some of the best material from each federation, put it into some category, and vote on it. This process is fine, but tons of content gets left out. So many matches and segments get overlooked or forgotten in all the rush! I won't stand for it any longer! I'm here to present to you the first ever compilation of the some of the best material from all these federations! Introducing, The Best of..." Matt paused to reach down behind the counter. A loud grunt echoed through the room as he came back up, holding a massive, steel container with "THE BEST OF 2013" engraved into it. "2013! Yeah, The Best of 2013! Within this oversized paperweight is a collection of some of the finest moments in 2013, in all of your favorite companies; plus, there's some nice bonus items! In this video, I'll run down what you can expect to receive with your purchase of this collector's paradise in alphabetical order!"

"But, before we begin, I need to mention some things. Some of you will probably complain that we are not highlighting Pro Wrestling Shark, Chaotic Wrestling League, International Wrestling Association, Coliseum Wrestling Alliance, Ladies Entertainment Sporting Battle Organization, United Wrestling Entertainment, or Dragon's Honor Wrestling... I think that's what the last one's called. I'll tell you why; there simply wasn't enough content from either organization that took place during the 2013 year to warrant getting their own section in this box. Sure, we could've combined them, but who wants that? We'll release some bonus content if people b***h enough, but I have a feeling we've packed you enough content in this already. On that note, keep in mind that this is -just- content within 2013. If you're looking at this package to include all the details to every storyline mentioned, you're gonna have a bad time. Once again, if there's enough outcry for it, we'll make bonus content. With that out of the way, let's get started!"

Matt moved to a counter to the left, and the camera angle switched with him. "And we're starting off with by-far my favorite of them all, my personal slice of paradise, Bad Blood Wrestling! Now, there was some debate about whether or not the company deserved any recognition here, but I'm funding this project. I'll include whatever I want. Now, BBW has been listed as one of the top industries of the modern era. We didn't start out big, though; we only to where we are now out of sheer perseverance, and one of the best ********' rosters I could ever ask for. However, we've definitely had some humble beginnings. So much so that we only got one disc in this collection!"

Shanahan paused to reach down to the table, pulling up the single DVD box that had BBW's logo scrawled across it.

"There wasn't too much from our beginnings that would impress the world, but we've picked a few nice moments for you to enjoy, one of them even involving me! First off, you've got a display of the raw power our rookies have in Ben Lord versus Andrew Styles! Both men have gotten better and changed as time as moved on, but this is a great example of how beginners can do well! In contrast to that, we see a clash of true legends in our business. Cyrus Leone and AJ Warner clash, with the only goal being to make the other bleed! After that, it's The Omega Show! A promo featuring our favorite masked lunatic and his epic match against the Head of The House, Serenno King! On top of that, we see The House Our Father Built's debut moment with them... pulling my trailer over. Despite that let down, the final match is sure to pick up your spirits with Salem Croft debuting against Jarel Damone for the BBW World Championship!"

"What do you get with all this great content? Your very own BBW Banner to hang in your room, a signed picture of my lovely assistant Mindy, your own Omega mask, a replica of Salem Croft's snake microphone, and free access to all of BBW's upcoming events via stream!" The camera panned upward to reveal all the items Matt had described laying on the table. "What's a better way to start off this great compilation package! Queue transition!"

On queue, Matt hopped over to the next counter, which was clearly for something with more content, judging by the oversized DVD set sitting on the table. "Now, typically people like to save the best for last; unfortunately, this is not a Best of Shanahan set. Up next on our list is one that dwarfed -everyone- during the 2013 year, and probably every year since it began: Evolution Wrestling Association. Known for its controversies, unique 'entertainment' ethics, and bizarre matches, EWA has cemented itself as probably the most legendary federation in our history. Go ahead and argue, older companies, but EWA won't let you take that claim without a fight and strongly... STRONGLY worded letter from Chrono Clepsydra himself. This year in EWA was one of the most memorable, the most shocking, and the most heartfelt. We saw The Number Three terrorize the s**t out of -everyone-, from the great Phoenixfire to the pillar of justice Dion Necurat. Speaking of Phoenixfire, we saw our lovely Phoenixfire go one-on-one with Chrono's favorite mistress, Yukari Clepsydra, in what will be remembered as one of the greatest women's matches of all time. And speaking of retirement, Mike Landry took us all along on his final journey as the EWA World Champion. He defended the title for much of the year until he finally encountered his best friend and mentor, Kelly King 2.0. They don't get to hog all of the spotlight though, as we also get to see Freakshow be an a**, Landry -and- King's kids be full of themselves, and many more fantastic matches along the way!"

"What bonus does this part come with? You get these 5 inch figurines of all Clepsydra family in their most known attire, including figurines of Chrono and all of his costume changes! Plus, your very own replica of the EWA World Championship, the belt Mike Landry carried for all of his 2013 career! What more could you ask for?!"

Moving on to the next counter, Matt took a moment to rest his hands on the countertop and stare at the new camera in front of him. "Every once in awhile, we find a company that tries to catch the essence of a dead company in a bottle, and rebrand it. During the year of 2013, Lethal Wrestling League did just that, claiming to be the spiritual successor of the legendary Extreme Entertainment Wrestling. They tried, and much like EEW, they found themselves closing their doors at the end of the year. They boast a reopening nowadays, but I doubt it. We'll see if I get proved wrong in when I present The Best of 2014. Anyways! We couldn't overlook this company despite all this because there really was some great work done! Whether you watched it for King Kartwright's arrogance, the unorthodox Madd Hatter who has since disappeared, or even the groundbreaking feud between Salem Croft and Freakshow, you enjoyed what you saw surely! All these factors are what made LWL a must-see show everytime it was on. If only they could harness what made them that good before."

"What you can expect with this section of the crate is a replica of LWL's Totalitarianism Championship and Madd Hatter's top hat! And we're moving on!"

Matt's feet carried him to the next counter, with a more sizable DVD set laying on top of it. "Evolution... the survival of the fittest. The strongest thrive, while the weakest crumble and live off the scraps they're tossed. That, ladies and gentlemen, is the reception you get at WWE: Evolution. Since Nuke Fusion had stepped down, the company has been on the decline, but it's still home to some of the greatest moments in 2013. We saw Kelly King betray Hiro Shin-Mozas, we saw The Covenant crash and burn faster than the speed of light, and we saw yet another retirement. Chrono Clepsydra and myself clashed in what would be known as the Twilight of The Gods. He put his final world championship on the line in one of the matches that made me famous in International Championship Wrestling. Following that, Major Devastation cashed in and stole the Evolution Championship from me! You wanna know what the true highlight on this DVD pack is though? The Asylum Championship. Every match that showcases that belt is one for the books. Whether is The Number Three clashing with Bison Mbadi and Salem Croft, or the Swaggerific Cartwright coming in to steal the belt from the M.W. Deuce, each one is sure to get your adrenaline pumping!"

"This set includes your own bottle of The Number Three's Devil's Spit, a 10 inch figurine of Chrono's mecha-whatever he rode in on in the Falco's Nest match, and a 7 inch figurine of Kelly King in a wheel chair! What's not to love about that?!"

Slowly, The God of Punks stepped over to the final counter as his hands shifted to slide into his pockets. "Last, but never least... we come to WWF The Guild. If there's one company that's withstood the test of time day in and day out, it's this one. Whether you loved it for the Rich Era, the Jed Era, or the Era of Change, you've loved this guild in some fashion even if you just loved to hate it. Never free of controversy, WWF:G deals with all the punches through-out the year; from champions, to the Money in the Bank, to even the Royal Rumble, each detail about the business has been criticized, ripped apart, and been used as fuel for pointless fires. And yet, it stands tall today. 2013 was nothing new for WWF:G, but it was definitely one of it's most memorable years. Hiro Shin-Mozas' victory in the Royal Rumble is one that is STILL talked about to this day. Chrono Clepsydra's employment as the General Manager was one that shocked the world, without a doubt. Salem Croft captured the Money in the Bank and held for the entire year, which was a controversial topic in itself. Cartwright's reign as WWF World Champion started here, and is still continuing to this day. And, not to brag, but one of the biggest feuds in the history of the company took place. Kelly King versus Matt Shanahan... A feud that became so personal, so physical that the two involved will never fully recover, and the... the friendship there will never be the same."

"Enough about me, you wanna know what comes with this part of the package! You'll get your own replicas of both Scepter The Sledgehammer and The Punk-ville Slugger, a King Kartwright replica crown because why not, and your very own signed Salem Croft poster! Man, we're loading this thing up with replicas, aren't we? We gotta change that for the next go-around."

The final camera angle change came with Matt returning to the main counter, displaying the massive steel THE BEST OF 2013 crate on it. "How much will this chest of memories and merchandise cost you? For only four-hundred-and-fifty American dollars, you can own it all! That's a deal, ladies and gentlemen, because all the merch alone is worth more than that! Sales will be limited, so be sure to order yours now!"

"And finally, from the bottom of all our hearts, thank you for watching and letting us be a part of your life! To all my fellow wrestlers, thank you for all the work you guys put on, especially to those that have had to deal with me. I'm putting my money on 2014 requiring an even bigger ********' crate than this; don't make me go broke. And remember, just because you don't win some over-sized award doesn't mean you're forgotten. We never forget. Seeya next time"

Matt, if whatever you're studying in school doesn't pan out you could make bomb a** money as the script writer for infomercials. Because let me tell ya dude that s**t made me want to shell out the money to actually watch these matches and have all that sweet as merchandise xD.
PostPosted: Wed Mar 05, 2014 9:33 am

Basically everything Kid_Omega said. Lol. That Infomercial was slick and I like how you divided up the chunks of matches and stuff per-promo or talk-spot. Very entertaining piece of work. A lot of great matches that despite them being in other Guilds, to which I would have loves to read them to further do research to do better in my Promo'ing and Debut, I'm still impressed by the list. Makes me wish I was in those Guilds or was around the G-Fed's during those years to watch the matches unfold. Regardless, the infomercial was hyped and very thought out. I too, would have shoveled buckets of money to buy the DVD collection. Now I'm just as inspired to put on highlight matches to one day hope of getting the honor of possibly a spot in the "Best of 2014" series. Lol.

@Dion: There's a new nickname for ya there. wink
@Cartwright: Overall, it took 11 hours, so yes it was a good deal of work. xd Worth it, though!
@Omega: I hope so! I procrastinated a lot of school work to do that, so I might need a back-up plan!
@Enigma: I'm glad you enjoyed it man, I'm certain we'll see some of your material in the 2014 edition. smile
