Bear Cubed
Open:
March 1, 2015 @ 2 AM PST
Closed: March 5, 2015 @ 11:59 PM PST

Welcome to the Bear Cubed Purewalker contest! This contest is for pawed newbies. It's a character concept and plot contest, with a dash of roleplay thrown in for good measure.

Read below for rules, information about the bloodline, and the forms.

Rules

  1. Read these rules.
  2. Follow them, the rules of Soquili, and Gaia's rules/ToS.
  3. You MUST follow the skinwalker rules; if you accidentally break them, do not give the staff a hard time when they ask you to change something to fit the shop rules.
  4. Pawed newbies only. This includes purewalkers. Newbie = own zero pawed Soquili. Do not enter if you know you will be receiving a pawed soquili soon.
  5. Fill out the form completely, or your entry will go unread.
  6. No late entries.

Clarification: To be eligible to enter, you must not own or co-own a soquili with a set of four paws/claws: canine, feline, ursine, etc.

Guidelines

  • "Bear" (with a modifier) is a good go-to name. If you like it, make it your own.
  • We prefer active Soquili regulars who will stick around to roleplay or at least plot with their new basket.
  • Keep in mind that skinwalkers do not form constructive relationships or family bonds, and that will be the case with this "family."

Bloodline

As
you know, skinwalkers do not form family bonds. This is merely here so you know who these baskets are related to and what some of their personalities and killing styles are like.

Extended Family Tree

User Image
Mother: Bear "Death's Warden
About: While this mare simply goes by "Bear," much like her father, the locals who have heard of her from those who have escaped her pens call her by another name: Death's Warden.

She keeps a prison of captured ponies, feeding and fattening them and, for entertainment, pitting them together to force them to fight or do other unspeakable acts in exchange for the chance of freedom.

The soquili who commits the most horrifying acts the most often by the end of the year, her tally carefully kept, is given one final test before the slaughter. If they enjoyed what they did, or claims to have to please her, they are killed and she moves to the next highest up.. If they hated every moment of it, and is shown to be clearly broken, the soquili is is set free to know that the rest have died instead of them because of what horrors they had done to their prison mates, but only after making them watch before their release as the Warden of their prison slaughters the rest, one by one in front of them, and dresses them in their trophy: the pelt of their closest friend in the cells, strapped on tight so they had no option but to go to others for help to remove it.

Note: Bear will be leaving all three baskets in one spot and as far from her territory as possible.

Father: Glacier
About: Glacier is as cold as his name implies, caring for nothing beyond his own personal desires at any given time. He views the inhabitants of the land as little more then walking meat and perhaps, if he's bored, things to toy with. Their overly emotional reactions to him are somewhat amusing and although he honestly doesn't understand why they insist on getting so pointlessly attached to one another the way they flail and moan and scream when he interferes with their lives can make an other wise boring day a little bit less so.

He's not entirely stupid however, like most predators he has a highly developed sense of self preservation and while he might toy with the weak and certainly will fight if he's cornered - he generally prefers to disappear when actual stiff resistance shows its face. Not that it matters to him - he's a wanderer and there are always more to torment on the road ahead, why bother expending energy against strong prey when he could find something which requires a bit less effort down the road.

Glacier is a migratory creature, birthed in the far North he found the area up there too desolate - not enough prey to sustain him and the decent areas to live in already taken and defended by older stronger creatures. As such he's followed the seasons... coming farther south in the winter and moving back to the north when the hot weather becomes to much of a burden. He follows his whim's and the demands his thick heavy coat places on him.

His meandering path throughout the land has left devastation and sorrow in its wake, grieving mothers, heartbroken sons and daughters etc but Glacier see's only the whining of the emotionally burdened inferiors that are only around for him to eat or toy with and pays it no real mind. He enjoys watching their reactions simply because he caused it and it appeals to his inner vanity to know he has made such an impact..but in the end all the wailing is really inconsequential.

Basket

Now that you've read thus far, here is the basket that is up for grabs:

We are looking for someone who will actively roleplay - or, at the very least, heavily plot with some light roleplay - their new basket. Purewalkers can be very difficult to play well, and we are looking for someone with a clear understanding of the skinwalker rules who also has an intriguing character concept. The gender is male.

Bear Cubed Equals...
Username: Vistada
Name: Bear, Frostbite
Personality: An intense cold shoulder like his father Bear is summed up with a few words: Doesn't Care About A Thing. Especially other Walker territories, he will walk through them and give little about what the reactions are. Because of this, he probably has a few scars under his pelt. But. He doesn't care.
He also cares so little that while he kills he finds very little interest in the actions of the families. Though he kills in a system like his mother's. Though not with reason, it just makes it easier for him to eat. He also gained his nickname Frostbite because as much as he is a cold bear, the way he kills is the hardest way for a Soquili of sound mind to be killed. By their loved ones. Frostbite is an intense, seething, slow pain that makes you numb as it goes on.

He absolutely cares intensely little about the heat and during the Spring, Summer and Fall in the north without many near by. Coming down from the mountains into the winter to pick his poison for the three seasons.

I hope I mentioned he cares little. c:.
He also says very few words. Full sentences are rare.

Plot Ideas:
I have to think about these plots~ But I decided to explain how he kills. I would insist that I will not have him breed with the same walkers. Unless these walkers are bears that are around his system and want to watch the families in his den system kill each other off while he goes off to fish or lays in his main den and counts rocks.
(Note: If the other walkers try to eat his catches he'll kill them. If they try to go after him; he'll kill them. Or injure them and throw them out into the cold to die. He cares little for territories but he considers the fact that the families his kill and his food. And hey, killing another walker gives him more space to not care. And somewhere else to roam when he's restless.)

Subconsciously, a possible faint spark of interest shows for a short period of time in Frostbite that makes him enjoy the idea of pitching the happy go lucky families around the Kawani lands against each other. Family members against family members ignites an amusement for a very short period of time though he has many seasons to deal with alone and with little food. He tends to walk down during the winter and round up a family of happiness usually about of 5 Soquili. He mauls them enough to hurt them to the point they can not fight him, and usually during their sleep. Tying them all together and making them follow him. He generally hunts other Soquili right before the Spring so he can just take them up without lugging families up. He takes maybe 1-3 groups of families up with him.

He is a busybody and needs to move around, so I gather this gives him something to do in the mean time when he's not walking through other territories and pissing off other walkers (Without a care). Or fishing.. Maybe for Merponies?

Once back up into the caves he owns he will break wings, declaw pawed Soquili, and hurt them until they are near enough to death that during their 'healing time' they can taste the fear of death. He is not shy to breaking a limb either so that the Soquili can't climb out of the cave system. Though most don't see the door he slithers through. And most don't know how to get out of the maze-like system. All Soquili that try to get through it tend to die along the way as it is quite the climb and when injured, not a climb one should be taking. He leaves them to deal with each other. Most families kill one another. Some do eat the others but nonetheless get sick and die from it. Most times he leaves them alone for a few days and they're all gone and he can happily eat them.

When he has no more left overs he fishes for penguins in the North.. Or just fish and seals.

I swear to follow all Skinwalker rules, and keep anything that doesn't fit shop canon out of the shop threads and guilds: Yes!

--------------------- ROLEPLAY SECTION ---------------------

RP Examples:
Lost
Protectors in Spirit
A Light in the Dark
Make Me See
Lost Boy
Bonus RP: [Reason for filling out: bonus points.]
Prompt: The foal inside the purewalker basket has just emerged. What is its first reaction to the outside world? What does it notice or begin to look for first?

Response:
He really.. doesn't care. I am joking. Here we go...

Waking up was a slow and ugh-worthy thing. He heard some rustling not far from him and the smell of his kind stirred in his nostrils. He didn't feel much, just an intense want to eat that was it. Getting up he stretched out and shook out his pelt for some unknown reason. Looking down at his paws he studied them for a moment before feeling his fangs in his mouth with his tongue.

He moved to the smell of water, standing there his eyes watched little and big things swim around. They seemed like they would be good, that pain in his stomach was annoying something about him. Though not directly annoying him. He hunted, and caught a large fish on his own. Eating it he heard something call him a Bear. A young filly who apparently was trying to show something off to him. He didn't smirk at all. Bear is what she kept calling him and then she disappeared. Coming back with a giant version of herself. His eyes looked up at the larger version who then tried to hurry the youngin away. It was a female as well. Which seemed to be the biological opposite to Bear. Words were had, not that he made any sense of them. Then a hoof came down causing Bear to roll out of its way.
A growl ripped through him as the hoof connected with the half eaten fish. That fish had been helping his stomach stop making him show interest in something. Eating was a need, he needed to do that. This Soquili was just wasting away food because it had to hurry away the little thing.

"Family" was another word that came to him and he eyerolled. Leaving the fish and horse there. When the Mare tracked him he moved so far away that she left. Good riddance. He continued his way, growing up as he went. Learning things, learning ways. Maybe this was why he learned to hate families who had everything? To him they just wasted good space and food. Food turned into something that was on these horses' sides for Bear. So Bear began to hunt them when he got bigger than them. It started with getting bigger than other colts. Then moved on to adults, then moved on to groups of adults and their young and so on and so forth.

Bear Cubed Equals...
Username: Anabis
Name: Bearcub
Personality: Stormy
Plot Ideas: He'd need to figure out his style of hunting and killing, that's a sure thing. Maybe he'd like just hitting things with his paws until they stop moving?
Learning about the other Soquili, which ones are easiest to hunt, which ones are best not to bother with.
Finding a territory of his own to terrorize.
He'd eventually run into possible flings when he's older, more bear babbins! (though he won't hang around to raise them)

I swear to follow all Skinwalker rules, and keep anything that doesn't fit shop canon out of the shop threads and guilds: Yes!

--------------------- ROLEPLAY SECTION ---------------------

RP Examples: (I don’t have a wide range of temperments to play with yet but here’s what I do got so far.)
Gold Scales and Holly Leaves
Beads, Berries and Fangs
Thread-log RP
Thread-Log RP 2
I know something you don't know!

Bonus RP: Bonus Points
Prompt: The foal inside the purewalker basket has just emerged. What is its first reaction to the outside world? What does it notice or begin to look for first?

Response: The bearwalker foal glared at a fallen tree branch. It was storming pretty bad, and just as he’d emerged from his now shredded-to-bits Basket this thing had knocked him on the head. It wasn’t a big branch at all, but it had still hurt. He didn’t like being hurt. He gave a snort and raised his little paw, and brought it down hard as he could on the offending branch, snapping the thing in two. He didn’t stop there though, he raised his paw again and brought it down on the branch over and over, getting into a rage the more he did it, until there was nothing left but a few splintered bits and a lot of displaced earth. Panting he glared around at the destruction, the remains of the branch and the torn-up earth and plants. He found the results to his satisfaction, and calmed down some, looking around for others. There were remains of other baskets near by, but no foals, like him or otherwise. The rain-softened earth left impressions of paws on the ground, about as small as his. He could only guess there were others out there like him somewhere, maybe related to him. This thought started to enrage him, at least until another loose bit of tree came down nearby, felled by the tempest winds. He took his rage out on that, ripping up the ground in the process again and then stomped off growling. He was hungry, and in pain from the branches, and getting angrier the longer the storm went on because of it’s driving rains and falling branches and gusting winds making his young eyes tear up so he couldn’t see well. He’d find somewhere out of the rain for now, and later after he found something to eat, he’d rip the world apart just like he had those tree branches.

--------------------- QUESTIONNAIRE ---------------------

Questionnaire:
It is required to answer these questions to have a chance.

Question: If someone you wish to breed your skinwalker with insists on all three breedings being together, how would you explain this in story canon? And How should this be handled in breeding forms?
Answer:
Since skinwalkers don’t form relationships that last, I guess for RPing it could be played out that they just encounter each other at the right time, long enough to breed and then move on, or make a one-time agreement to breed each time they meet up with time in between (Like they meet, they make the agreement, they part ways. They meet, they make an agreement, they part ways. wash rinse repeat). More likely though is that after the first time they won’t breed together again. For the breeding forums it could be treated as a fling each time, since skinwalkers are not a ‘family’ forming kind of soquili.

Question: Do Skinwalkers form family units or care what their family thinks?
Answer:
No and no. They are mostly solitary, only grouping up to breed or hunt, though the hunting doesn’t always work due to the solitary natures.

Question: If you have a hard time RPing a skinwalker in character, what can you do?.
Answer:
Talk to other people who play purewalkers for help and tips. Lighten up on the RPing but plot a lot more if the tips didn’t help for some reason.

Question: Skinwalkers can, on rare occasions, form packs/herds to organize an attack, but they always break apart shortly afterwards or sometimes even before they manage to stage the raid. What do you think happens to cause these breakups?
Answer:
In-fighting. Tempers clash over little things, or to ensure the largest part of the kill goes to themselves.

Question: In your own words, please explain the nature of Skinwalkers.
Answer:
Evil Incarnate. There is no Love here for anything in particular except the kill, the pain, and the spilt blood. Meat is the food of choice; fish, fowl or flesh of others. They don’t play-nice with others very often if at all, but can, with some difficulty, group up for large hunts. Though sometimes those large hunting groups never get to the actual hunting and end up just going after each other. There is nothing to ‘save’ or ‘redeem’, they are who they are.

Bear Cubed Equals...
Username: ~Latonia de la Courtel~
Name: Bear, Winter's Bane
Personality: Frigid. Bane doesn't 'like' or 'care' about anything, or anyone. He revels in a solitary existence, and is most likely to retreat to the cold embrace of the mountains. At his first remembered breath he fought with those that something inside him said were blood of his blood, and perhaps he hated them because of it. It cannot truly be known, for he says little about himself or his past. (And if he says anything at all it is to those he turns around and kills).
Bane doesn't keep prey like his mother, the idea has not yet occurred to him. He prefers to flow down out of the mountains like a freezing river, a slow prowl where he hunts and feeds on those unlucky enough to cross his path. He leaves nothing but blood-streaked snow behind, dragging the bodies or injured prey back to his den to feast slowly. He is coldly lethal, and will kill all in his path in whichever way he chooses to be relevant at the time.
Fall and Winter are the times when he is most active down here in the lands, wakened and his perceived 'territory' expanded by the bite of the cold. It is worth nothing he will have little regard for the territory of other Skinwalkers, and this may lead to many fights. In the Spring and Summer he will be up in the mountains, at the highest and coldest points he can find.
Plot Ideas: A three-stage 'hunting' and experiments with toture will help Bane determine the best way to kill while also keeping him entertained. Crossing paths with another walker would certainly inspire him to a fight, testing himself against the other types (Cat/Wolf/Owl). He will only respect strength. Everything else is food, a plaything or worthless.
Alone: Emerging from the basket in the company of his siblings but otherwise abandoned, Bane will very likely fight with the others and then throw himself into the wild.
(Little) Hunter: Hunting as a foal, or as a cub, is bound to be awkward and a little unsuccessful. Without cat-like reflexes, Bane will be somewhat limited in is prey. I think he will focus on fish when near water, and prey like rabbits in the forest. He will (somewhat reluctantly) forage for supplemental sustenence (roots and berries) while perfecting his stalking.
(Learning) Hunter: As he grows into himself, Bane will move to foals and Soquili as his prey. Experiments with drowning his prey, and dragging the injured to frozen wastes will feature.
(Lethal) Hunter: As he grows into an adult shape, Bane will perfect his hunting technique. He may begin to take a page out of his mother's book and keep prey alive in the cave network he has claimed as his own in the mountains. With a broken limb, it would be impossible for his prey to escape some of the caves.
Like But Not Like: Interaction with various Skinwalkers would be amazing. Fighting is certainly expected. As a cub if he crosses paths with them he might just do his best to remain "under the radar" and try to learn their hunting techniques.

I swear to follow all Skinwalker rules, and keep anything that doesn't fit shop canon out of the shop threads and guilds: Yes indeed, I do!

--------------------- ROLEPLAY SECTION ---------------------

RP Examples:
Happily Ever After
Fayths Stick Together
Kalona Blood, Whats That?
Origin Story: A Wandering Song
It Is Right That They Should Fear

Bonus RP: [Reason for filling out: bonus points.]
Prompt: The foal inside the purewalker basket has just emerged. What is its first reaction to the outside world? What does it notice or begin to look for first?

Response:
What is that?
There was noise on the outside, and the scent of rain and green growing things were dull and irritating. The rustle of feathers and scent of musk made his gums ache, his throat dry and belly rumbling in hunger. He wanted to tear and rend and hunt. He was hungry. He was predator. He was a bear.
Bane clawed his way out of the basket with full knowledge of what he was. Hungry.
He was a predator and longed to hunt. There were other baskets in the clearing, and he gave one an experimental swipe. The thing in there, he wanted to kill it. It didn't mean anything to him, it just scented like trouble... Like something that could be a fellow predator.
With a low growl, the colt spun away from it, ears pitching forward at the sound of an inexperienced squirrel tumbling out of the nest.
Teeth bared in a grin as he approached the squeaking rodent, the young predator raked an anticipatory trench into the grass with his claws. Time to feed. He stalked toward the injured prey, growling.
'Hello... Food.'

Answer:
In OOC terms, this would be between both parties to think of a storyline that worked for the characters while obeying the Skinwalker rules. Technically as Skinwalkers form no bonds they would be handled as flings, with one time agreements attached.
ICly, As Skinwalkers are unlikely to form any social or emotional bond, due to their solitary and evil nature they would not 'fall' or 'feel' for a breeding partner. However, if at some point they meet and fight, and determine each other to be worthy as an opponent it would not be too surprising that they would maintain that 'view' of the individual. As such they could part ways after abandoning the baskets, and then cross paths at a much later time. I think it would take a bit extra RP to "sell" a repeat interaction, but theoretically they could "fling" again after finding each other to be the strongest/most suitable.

Question: Do Skinwalkers form family units or care what their family thinks?
Answer:
Skinwalkers have a habit of fighting or killing whatever crosses their paths. While they may form a temporary alliance for the sake of accomplishing a goal, a "family" dynamic does not exist. Baskets will be left to fend for themselves, far outside of the parent's territory. If they survive, they better take care not to cross paths with their parents, there will be no familial 'affection' to save them.

Question: If you have a hard time RPing a skinwalker in character, what can you do?.
Answer:
You can abstain from RP, state they are uncanon and recuse yourself to the OOC realm. Do not RP them canon-wise.

Question: Skinwalkers can, on rare occasions, form packs/herds to organize an attack, but they always break apart shortly afterwards or sometimes even before they manage to stage the raid. What do you think happens to cause these breakups?
Answer:
Skinwalkers are evil, arrogant, uncooperative beings. They do not form friendships or true alliances. They may for a time hold each other as of use, but if their mood shifts they just as fast return to being enemies.

Question: In your own words, please explain the nature of Skinwalkers.
Answer:
Skinwalkers are evil. They hate everything, including each other and probably even themselves. They're a plague on the land. It is their main desire to cause pain, destruction, and death. They have no souls, feel no positive emotions.

Wasteland Wyvern

Dangerous Demigod

PostPosted: Sun Mar 01, 2015 3:02 pm

Bear Cubed Equals...
Username: Wasteland Wyvern
Name: Bear of the Ravenous Hunger
Personality: Bear is insatiable. He wanders from place to place never settling down, never staying for more than a week max. He hunts almost constantly, for no matter how full his belly is in reality, he always feels a gnawing hunger deep within. He feels that playing with his prey is beneath him and refuses to do so, but that doesn't mean he kills clean. He is a messy beast, loving to gnaw on bones to get to the marrow within. Organ meats are his favorite treat, liver being top on that list.
Plot Ideas
The First Time: Shortly after leaving his basket, the hunger he is named for, forces him to hunt if only to stop the pain. He finds a small family with a young foal of their own and tries to kill it for food. Does it go well or does the hunt turn on him?

Never Ending Hunger: 'The hunger! It burns! Why won't it end?!?' These are the words that he often growls to himself when his hunger is burning a hole in his stomach. How does he deal with it?

Someone Like Me: This will be during his teenage years where he thinks nothing can beat him. He encounters a much older and stronger purewalker and foolishly stalks it to see how it acts. The other walker knows he's there and can either tolerate him or run him off or attack him. It will be up to the other owner.

Mother Meanest: This would would have to be plotted out with the mothers owner but it would be an encounter with his mom.

Daddy Dangerous: Same as the one above, a plotted rp with his dad.

I swear to follow all Skinwalker rules, and keep anything that doesn't fit shop canon out of the shop threads and guilds: Yes!

--------------------- ROLEPLAY SECTION ---------------------

RP Examples:
1.) When the Storm Strikes (Thundara and Skaalbjorn)
2.) Spring Means Flowers Right?
3.) Flowers For You (Mahlar & Xiao Xing)
4.) Looting A Pirate's Cache (George & Lissianna)
5.) The Giant and the Beauty (Rhamiel and River Nocturna)

Bonus RP: Bonus Points
Prompt: The foal inside the purewalker basket has just emerged. What is its first reaction to the outside world? What does it notice or begin to look for first?

Response:
The basket moved periodically as the murderous colt within began to stir. It took some doing but he got his legs under him and shakily stood. The basket lid popped off with him and the feeling of it sliding off his pelted back startled him and he lost his footing tumbling into the already empty baskets of his siblings and into the mud.
So the first emotion he felt was annoyance at his own foolishness, then came the hunger. It was gnawing at his innards, the sheer pain of it making him want to curl up and die. Food... He had to find food. Rising from the mud as gracefully as his newborn legs would allow he stalked off into the bushes, following nothing more than instinct to fill his aching belly.

--------------------- QUESTIONNAIRE ---------------------

Questionnaire
It is required to answer these questions to have a chance.

Question: If someone you wish to breed your skinwalker with insists on all three breedings being together, how would you explain this in story canon? And How should this be handled in breeding forms?
Answer:
In story cannon the two purewalkers would seek each other out strictly to breed then they would either run each other off or leave. This would only be to create strong offspring.
On the breeding form it would be handled as a selective permission fling breeding.

Question: Do Skinwalkers form family units or care what their family thinks?
Answer:
No, they care nothing for family and often abandon their own children in tactical places to cause havoc.

Question: If you have a hard time RPing a skinwalker in character, what can you do?.
Answer:
You can read over the Skinwalker RP rules in the guild and re-familiarize yourself with the cannon, and if you still have trouble you can pm an RP mod and ask for help.

Question: Skinwalkers can, on rare occasions, form packs/herds to organize an attack, but they always break apart shortly afterwards or sometimes even before they manage to stage the raid. What do you think happens to cause these breakups?
Answer:
More often than not it's power struggles that break up the raid herd. One believes he's meant to be the leader or one thinks the current strategy would get them all killed. Power is everything to these beasts.

Question: In your own words, please explain the nature of Skinwalkers.
Answer:
They are evil incarnate. Most of these beasts relish in death and decay, others enjoy tormenting and keeping captives, but no matter their preferences all are monsters.

Bear Cubed Equals...
Minor edited, Because I looked at personality like persona... >.<
Username: S u r f for L o v e
Name: Bear, Cain (think Cain and Able, just after Able was killed.)
Personality: Calculating, Cold, and full of thoughts on how to be a stronger predator, Cain loves the hunt. He loves playing with his prey and he above all, does not like that there are more than himself out their of the skinwalker race. He wants to watch lives fall to pieces, and takes great pleasure in being the main cause of such a situation. His entire mindset, is on finding how to feed his need to destroy. It has been since he first escaped his confining basket, and only grows with each hunt.
He does fear though, he fears those stronger than himself, and this fear causes him to be even more thoughtful in each step he makes, always moves and countermoves. Life is like a game of chess, and he takes delight in being the evil that soq foals fear at night.

Plot Ideas: I like to discuss with others for plot ideas, but I know for a fact I will have a flipping blast with his journal. "Journals" are kind of my PRP's
I DO, want to do a sibling rp. in the form of one on one, fight, You will understand when you see my entry. =)
I want him to slaughter, I want him to Maim, and I want him to enjoy the fear, and tears he causes others.
I do have one plot line for sure, that I've been playing with. I want one of my own Soq to go through some serious trauma, at the paws of a skin walker. Cain, would for sure be that soq. if I'm able to prove worthiness of him. =)
I will also make it available for anyone else looking to plot rp sad and dangerous encounters.
I swear to follow all Skinwalker rules, and keep anything that doesn't fit shop canon out of the shop threads and guilds: Yes I swear, thats easy. I have always loved playing really messed up toons. =)

RP Examples: you want five? =) I can give way more than that.

Soq RP ongoing
ForestHymn RP
ForestHymn RP a battle
ForestHymn RP a pack rp
ForestHymn RPHellu Wolrd

This should do? I have lots more =)
Some of those are just showing I do RP and what not. but the personal ones. like the diary and then others are more to show expression and my story telling style... =)

Bonus RP: [bonus points.]
Prompt: The foal inside the purewalker basket has just emerged. What is its first reaction to the outside world? What does it notice or begin to look for first?

Response: Cain's eye's flickered open, Many times he had opened them so far, though not with the strength he felt usually present. blinking a few times he decided to test his body. Perhaps it was time?
With no effort it felt at all, his head pushed open the lid, It rustled quietly and he did his best to keep it quiet as his eyes took a moment to adjust to the light. a breeze played with his fur, it was refreshing to the stifling stillness he was used too. Eyes wide he took note that the two other baskets near him, remained quiet. His ears went back and a scowl formed across his small face. 'So. I'm the first to awake? good.' his grin turned malicious as he looked at both of them. To do away with competition, or not to... such an easy choice.

Still attempting to move as quietly as possible, he attempted to stand, his mind playing out the various ways he could disrupt his apparent siblings lives, before they started. In his thoughts, it was easy, and he wanted it. almost craved it, so much so that he didn't realize at first, that his body was not yet acting to his will. The thoughts left him cold suddenly, as his legs wobbled, his fur bristling on his neck as his heart pound fast, he wanted to taste the death of them both. He wanted to so badly, and yet, he was as weak as it came. He made to elegantly step from his basket, only to stumble embarrassingly to the ground. 'Curse you body. you lied to me. I feel so strong, and yet I can barely walk!' his anger helped him to rise, shakily to his feet.

He snorted with annoyance, cold eye's blazing as he looked at the very unassuming baskets next to his empty one. "Next time, you both won't be so lucky." he whispered before turning away following the breeze to somewhere much safer than his current position. His mind already placing those two scents to memory, they would pay. one day he would remove them from this land.

Questionnaire:
It is required to answer these questions to have a chance.

Question: If someone you wish to breed your skinwalker with insists on all three breedings being together, how would you explain this in story canon? And How should this be handled in breeding forms?
Answer:
Forced pairing. and would only be done through rp. Perhaps they had a malicious relationship, I imagine Cain in this instance, liking the way this particular pony squirmed, and cried, and begged. perhaps he takes his time destroying her, making her feel worthless, pathetic, and once the three breedings are done. he scars her so badly she can no longer have offspring, leaving her mentally broken. his plaything. his little toy. he would enjoy the memory, and leave to find the next unfortunate soul to torture and kill.
if its too skinwalkers, then its because they are both strong. and it would only be to make strong offspring to torture the world with longer.
In the forms it would be a fling. nothing more

Question: Do Skinwalkers form family units or care what their family thinks?
Answer:
hell no. Cain wants to kill his siblings. thats the only thoughts he has towards them. he doesn't even consider his parents. though if he ran across them, he would attack them. any other skinwalker out there is a threat to his territory. HIS victims..

Question: If you have a hard time RPing a skinwalker in character, what can you do?.
Answer:
not get a skinwalker? I don't have a hard time with this. a malicious character with an unstable personality, thats fun to me. I suppose though, asking for assistance from staff would be the option.

Question: Skinwalkers can, on rare occasions, form packs/herds to organize an attack, but they always break apart shortly afterwards or sometimes even before they manage to stage the raid. What do you think happens to cause these breakups?
Answer:
They are skinwalkers... they only care about themselves lol. and their next victim. they are power players, and if they aren't, they want to avoid the ones who are. it's a harsh situation. I don't see Cain ever participating in one of these... he's a bear, by social standards they are loaners to begin with.

Question: In your own words, please explain the nature of Skinwalkers.
Answer:
They are all things twisted, their nature is selfserving. there personalities are usually dark, or calculative. They don't make friends, they don't make bonds. alot of them, Cain included are the boogyman that other soq warn their foals of at night. they are natural predators.

Bear Cubed Equals...
Username: [Eskimo]
Name: Bear "The Solar Eclipse"
Personality: Bear never speaks. Ever. It's unclear to others whether he can't or merely never wishes to, but a peek into his mind shows that not even his thoughts are pieced together with verbal dialogue. He's by no means lacking in intelligence or verbal understanding--quite the opposite. He can completely comprehend the words and body language of another, but put simply, Bear isn't interested, regardless of whether he can speak or not. The art of rhetoric is fine--for others, that is. Their own words are capable of distracting them. While they're busy conversing with one another, or busy questioning Bear's intentions as he peeks through the trees, that's less time they spend running--more time for him to close the space between...

Observant and curious to the point of obsession (which is made bizarrely evident by how wide his eyes remain at nearly all times), it can sometimes be too easy for Bear to become fixated on his prey. Once he's decided to kill, he will not stop pursuing his prey until he has claimed its life. There's not much rationale behind his choices in prey. It could be he saw something move in his peripheral vision, something fidgeted in just the right way, or the meeting of eyes...whatever the case, a fixation switch will flip and Bear will become instantly overcome with the hunt. In that split second, it becomes decided--that is his prey. His curiosity many times takes hold of him after the kill, as well, whether it manifests itself by dissection (where he's been known to take a trophy or two) or by observing how the area has been damaged or changed as a result of his attack. His technique of pursuit--stalk, chase, and kill--may seem archaic at first, but his alternate title was given to him due to an unusual but horrible reality whispered on the wind--he only hunts in broad daylight. But the reason behind this is unknown to all except Bear.

Bear was born with night blindness*, whether inherited or through rare mutation, but his prowess is severely limited once the sun begins to set. Unfortunately for Bear, his need to seek prey never sleeps, and that is when his Feral form becomes most useful. With a sharper nose and more body mass to absorb damage taken from his surroundings, Bear is relatively capable of hunting even at night. Despite that, the night remains a sort of curse for Bear, and the only time where he spends more energy considering self-preservation than hunting.

*Night blindness is most documented in appaloosas, but since this is Soquili, I decided to go with fantasy over realism. There are some rare cases of it affecting other horse breeds, too, however! And I chose to have this carry over to his Feral form for cohesion's sake.

Plot Ideas: Since Bear has night blindness, it's much more of a possibility for him to become the hunted rather than the hunter once the sun goes down. I'm definitely interested in some serious injury/fight plots related to this, Feral and Pelted.

I'm also interested in having him meet any one of his family members at some point in his life. Obviously they wouldn't care about their family ties, but I think it'd be amusing if his family member became so enraged by Bear's lack of replies that an intense fight broke out. I'd be okay with Bear being the one to flee in this case.

What I'm basically thinking of doing is to have RPs that sort of shave his obsessive nature down to something more manageable where he becomes more aware of preserving his life instead of solely fixating on hunting. If he gets into some incredibly dangerous situations (vision compromised at night, battling others who prove stronger than him, outnumbered fight scenarios), it could help him come to an understanding that he needs to survive in order to continue to hunt. And since he needs to survive, he has to be even more observant about situations that may endanger his life.

THEN AGAIN, it could also backfire and cause him to become even more obsessive than before...which would also be interesting!

Another idea is for him to have one target, one prey, who he can never quite catch. Another Soquili, but not Skinwalker or Kalona--a more fearful type who'd flee or attempt reason every time. So this would be a multiple RP type of plot for multiple encounters over time. Others could even be dragged in, either passers-by or friends of the Soquili in question who would attempt to intervene, either helping or making things worse (accidentally or even purposefully). It'd be seriously fun (well, not for the target, LOL).

I swear to follow all Skinwalker rules, and keep anything that doesn't fit shop canon out of the shop threads and guilds: I swear.

Bonus RP: [Reason for filling out: bonus points.]
Prompt: The foal inside the purewalker basket has just emerged. What is its first reaction to the outside world? What does it notice or begin to look for first?

Response:

The initial overwhelming state of newness over with, and having gotten used to his legs enough to walk without falling over, the recently emerged foal began to direct his observations away from himself and toward the outside world.

...Ah...

Something moved.

Newly blinking eyes ceased their wincing and the foal tilted his head down. The creature before him was small, round, and dirt-colored. Its throat thrummed and it made a loud sound. The foal's ears twitched.

Nostrils flaring with new scents, the foal moved a little closer. His movements were clumsy and he startled the small creature.

As he watched it hop away, his eyes seemed to grow in size, remaining wide and fixated on the fleeing creature.

His fleeing prey.

He chased it.

Questionnaire:
It is required to answer these questions to have a chance.

Question: If someone you wish to breed your skinwalker with insists on all three breedings being together, how would you explain this in story canon? And How should this be handled in breeding forms?
Answer:
I would say it'd have to be some kind of alliance completely unrelated to emotions. Maybe the two had a deal or an alliance going that would benefit the both of them as a result of the breedings. It wouldn't make sense for it to happen coincidentally, but they're also not supposed to know if they'll stay together, but I guess it could be explainable with a combination of both. It's definitely not lifemating, so they'd be entering breedings the typical way like they're flinging. It sounds a little messy for me, LOL.

Question: Do Skinwalkers form family units or care what their family thinks?
Answer:
No.

Question: If you have a hard time RPing a skinwalker in character, what can you do?.
Answer:
If research and/or advice doesn't help, then just don't RP it (at least not on Gaia). I actually think the best option would be to give it back to the parents/shop to re-home, but there's always co-owning, too.

Question: Skinwalkers can, on rare occasions, form packs/herds to organize an attack, but they always break apart shortly afterwards or sometimes even before they manage to stage the raid. What do you think happens to cause these breakups?
Answer:
First of all, Skinwalkers are very solitary by nature, so even having two Skinwalkers together is going to be awkward (and by that I mean tense as frick). They just prefer being alone. That combined with their violent and evil nature, it's easy to see how chaos would break out. Or maybe they weren't ever capable of "working together" in the first place, and each one was just out for itself from the beginning? Or maybe one or more changed their minds and just wanted to kill whoever else it was working with? There are really several possibilities.

Question: In your own words, please explain the nature of Skinwalkers.
Answer:
I think for me they're the epitome of a predator, but there is literal evil within them which sets them apart. Part of you wants to rationalize and say, "Oh, they did this HORRIBLE thing because it's their instinct," or "they just NEED to kill," but it's not always just a drive, it's something else, and that's where the dark side comes in. Their personalities can differ like any predator's, but I feel like the core of each Skinwalker is the same--to destroy life, whatever that means, and however they go about it.

Bear Cubed Equals...
Username: sheppardkid
Name: Bear, The Ripper
Personality: Bear the Ripper is as cold as they come. He cares for nothing and no one, with the slight exception of his territory. His world consists of all things dark and gruesome as he lives only to kill, destroy, torture, and maim. This lust for death was discovered early on in his life, though he struggled to retain control of it at first. Such a struggle often left him frustrated to the point of lashing out at the nearest object- a trait that has stuck with him into adulthood.

Ripper is a Purewalker who exists for the unique pleasure of dismemberment. He loves nothing more than to feel the warm blood of his prey oozing from his coat, the tormented screams like an orchestra of agony in his ears, as he methodically rips the unfortunate Soquili apart. His flair for the macabre is even more pronounced in how he disposes of the remains- often times leaving the bones and pelts of the victims outside of his territory for loved ones to discover. Only the finest of “trophies” are kept and scattered throughout the territory as emblems of his demented pleasure.

Plot Ideas:
Learning Curve- Ripper has to start off somewhere. This part of his life will be dedicated to learning the ins and outs of what it means to be a Purewalker. He will face various challenges on the path to becoming strong while also discovering who he is. His bloodlust will be far harder to control which will lead him into some intense situations with other Soquili. Additionally, Ripper will learn how to survive other walkers when entering into their territories.

Killer’s Keepers- This part will focus more on Ripper as a young adult. He will wander throughout the Kawani lands, searching for a territory of his own…or one that he can take for his. It is during this time that his signature style of killing will be developed to its fullest.

I swear to follow all Skinwalker rules, and keep anything that doesn't fit shop canon out of the shop threads and guilds: Yes!

--------------------- ROLEPLAY SECTION ---------------------

RP Examples: I don’t have any RP experience on Gaia yet, but I have RP’d on a different site.

Bonus RP: [Reason for filling out: bonus points]
Prompt: The foal inside the purewalker basket has just emerged. What is its first reaction to the outside world? What does it notice or begin to look for first?

Response: The darkness- that’s all that there was to this place. There was no sound, no feeling. Nothing but emptiness and darkness. It had been the first thing that he was aware of as he developed within that void. He had grown comfortable in it, had let himself become one with it, his very soul intertwining with the blackness of the abyss. That was his beginning- a dark soul ripe for emergence.

And so, he emerged from his basket with all the expectations of sublime darkness. What he was greeted with, however, was the bright and blissful world. Light and warmth wove around him while a slight breeze whispered through the trees. Nearby creatures romped and played as if not having a care in the world. The sound of it was sickening. This was not the world he had known nor thought it to be. His mind raced to process everything that it encountered. Why had the exquisite and wonderful darkness been replaced by this? What was he to do in this world so…wrong?

Prey. A solitary word born from the darkest of instincts. It was so foreign to him and yet sounded…no, tasted…so right. He mulled the term over in his head once more, twirling it around and around, savoring its thought as if it were itself some type of prey. A strange pang emanated from his stomach- a burning sensation unlike any other. Hunger. He needed to find something to quell this pain before it grew too great.

He did not have to look far for sustenance it seemed. Not far from the remnants of his birth, tucked away at the base of a tree, was an intricately designed basket. It did not move or make a sound. It merely sat there for the taking. There was something off about the thing, but he couldn’t figure out what, nor did he care. It was a meal in the making and that’s all that mattered. A strong odor of meat wafted up as he leaned closer to exam it. He needed no more encouragement. Pounce. His newly discovered fangs sank deep within the entity, his mouth filling with green reeds. Bleh! He rushed away from the object as if lightning had struck him. That’s not food! The young colt complained indignantly, stamping his paw angrily. He had been so easily fooled. This would simply not do.

The darkness in his heart screamed for recompense. He could not allow for such trickery to go unpunished. Everything within him yearned to destroy the thing- to obliterate it in its entirety. But then an unfamiliar noise drew his attention. There were sounds of gaiety from somewhere across the river. Such miserable clamor only served to deepen his disdain. Perhaps those creatures will be a more fitting meal… Yes, he liked the idea of silencing the pitiful beings as he crushed their skulls and ripped them apart. He cast a vengeful gaze at the basket. I will be back to deal with that once I am done.

Answer: I would not agree to that given the nature of Skinwalkers. The only exception would be if the offered mate was also a Skinwalker and it was a matter of the stronger one seeking out the weaker one to dominate and humiliate. In this case, I believe one would use a "selective breeding" form.

Question: Do Skinwalkers form family units or care what their family thinks?
Answer: Nope. There are no such things as family ties to a Skinwalker.

Question: If you have a hard time RPing a skinwalker in character, what can you do?.
Answer: Read the Skinwalker information guide, talk to an RP manager or Uta or Mindsend, research other Skinwalker RPs, RP in private guilds or PM or other similar threads/ways, be sure to state that they may not or do not fit within shop canon.

Question: Skinwalkers can, on rare occasions, form packs/herds to organize an attack, but they always break apart shortly afterwards or sometimes even before they manage to stage the raid. What do you think happens to cause these breakups?
Answer: The very nature of a Skinwalker is to dominate, be violent, and to take care of number 1. Therefore, ego and blood lust take over so that the Skinwalkers fight one another.

Question: In your own words, please explain the nature of Skinwalkers.
Answer: Skinwalkers are pure and unequivocal evil. They care for no Soq but themselves and will do anything to fulfill their desire for chaos and destruction. There is no reasoning with them as their whims are their own.

Plot Ideas:

"The sign said bear right, so he went left." Too much family the other way. Too many other bears. He can't bear it. He'd rather go bare than be someone who is barely there to his kin. I would love to play him constantly going out of his way to avoid the rest of his family, just to stumble into one or more of them

"He thinks he's Mister Right." I'd love to see him try to get involved in this... romance... thing. As an abstract, it bears observation. He thinks he'll give it a chance, he can't bear to let an experience pass him by... however the other always thinks he is wrong... somehow... someway. wrong for her (or him, he's not picky), wrong for being a cannibalistic monster, or even just incorrect in something he says. Maybe they just can't bear his jokes. Bare bones? This is when he reduces his prospective date to... well... bare bones.

Response:

His eyes blinked, his stomach growled and he responded in kind. A thin tongue slipped past baby sharp teeth. He needed food. He couldn't bear this hunger a second longer than the second he had already endured it. He looked for someone else, anyone else. Spying a soq in the distance, he wobbled towards it. Time to meet the meat.

He'd be a basket case until he fed, an absolute bear to be around.

Questionnaire:

Question: If someone you wish to breed your skinwalker with insists on all three breedings being together, how would you explain this in story canon? And How should this be handled in breeding forms?
Answer:
Depends if I agree with them. If I say no to all the breedings being together, and they insist, I probably don't want any breedings with this person.

If I think that doing multiple breedings together would be an awesome thing, I'd probably have to so a "favorite prey" sort of thing, or a "useful sometimes ally" plot with the other person. The first being the one who just keeps getting away. Either a mare so much fun to chase down that he keeps letting her escape in the end, when she's half eaten and half dead (he's an optimist and a pessimist both, folks!), so that she can go off, recover, and he can find her again for another feast. The useful sometimes would be more like what Ashvay and Gauren (one of the linked threads is early in that relationship) have going for them. She is of some small amount of help, and he gets to eat more when she's around. He can't bear the mare for long, but for short spans, he can go the distance.

Question: Do Skinwalkers form family units or care what their family thinks?
Answer:
Even if I thought otherwise, you point out in this thread
Quote:

As you know, skinwalkers do not form family bonds. This is merely here so you know who these baskets are related to and what some of their personalities and killing styles are like.
So.... not really, and especially not this colony.

Question: If you have a hard time RPing a skinwalker in character, what can you do?.
Answer:
Ask for help from someone who has had a purewalker far longer.

Question: Skinwalkers can, on rare occasions, form packs/herds to organize an attack, but they always break apart shortly afterwards or sometimes even before they manage to stage the raid. What do you think happens to cause these breakups?
Answer:
Trying to eat each other, flare ups of natural aggression, paranoia. And in some cases, probably violent insanity.

Question: In your own words, please explain the nature of Skinwalkers.
Answer:
Hungry. Cruel. Natural villains for a plot. Hungry. Vicious. Did I mention hungry?

Bear Cubed Equals...
Username: Fatal Irony
Name: Bear The Impaler
Personality: Bear is a suave and charming fellow on the outside, convincing others that he is not actually a skinwalker but an unfortunate victim of one who managed to fuse the pelt to him as to make it irremovable. He doesn't let this get him down though and he builds relationships with those around him. He even helps the locals seek out those that begin to go missing from their lands. When too much suspicion arises (or he just gets bored) he will leave and wander to another area full of gullible fools to prey upon. Inside he is devious, relishing the feeling of allowing another soquili to build trust in him and then getting to watch the betrayal and fear in their eyes when he reveals to them his lair and the horrors within. He doesn't understand the foolishness or emotions inherent in other soquili. To him everyone is simply prey, and he enjoys to toy with them. He plays the long game, allowing them to believe he is trustworthy, manipulating those around him to act any way he pleases. Once suspicion starts to build he will pull the puppet strings and direct people to another, watching as they eagerly turn on each other. When he take his victims to his lair he tortures them slowly, peeling their skin layer by layer, keeping them alive for days as he plays his game. When he's had his fun - and his fill - he impales what might be left of them and decorates his lair with the spikes, hence his namesake.

He doesn't stay long in any area, even when he's decided to prey upon one for a while. He keeps his lair somewhere secret, whose location he reveals only to his victims - right before they die. He stays in a dark and thick part of the forest that is rumored (started by him) to be haunted. Those who venture in are never heard from again. Mostly because Bear kills them.

Plot Ideas:

1. Bear finds a small tight-knit group of soquili in a sheltered area and spends weeks slowly using his charm to gain their trust, then manipulating them into turning on each other. One goes missing and all hell breaks loose as everyone blames each other and Bear will help facilitate that until it turns to physical violence. He'll watch with pleasure as they all turn feral in their rage and fear.

2. Taking a victim to his lair: He convinces a soquili back to his lair but before they can be detained a wandering soquili stumbles in to the area (adventure seekers maybe who heard the haunted story and wanted to investigate?) and Bear is faced with being outnumbered - and having his lair's location found out. He can't allow either to escape intact, but he's never been much for fighting. Let's see what happens!

3. Blundering into bad territory : Perhaps as a result of the above someone gets away and his lair is compromised. In his wandering trying to find a new place that is suitable he wanders into one of his family members' territory and is (most likely) chased out.

I swear to follow all Skinwalker rules, and keep anything that doesn't fit shop canon out of the shop threads and guilds: I do solemnly swear

Prompt: The foal inside the purewalker basket has just emerged. What is its first reaction to the outside world? What does it notice or begin to look for first?

Response: He smelled blood. He couldn't explain why he understood what blood was, but something primal within him told him blood was good and that he needed it. Scrambling from his basket eagerly he tramples another basket, but no time to ponder the implications of that. There was blood about and he would find it. He blinked against the harsh light of day, his eyes aching for a moment in the unaccustomed brightness. He skirted the light and stayed in the darkest shadows he could find. He followed his nose, the most basic of instincts, until he found what he was looking for - it seemed a baby bird had fallen from its nest. It was fluttering and floundering around but was clearly going to die based on the gash it had suffered in the fall. Bear watched it a moment, its fear and vulnerability. He watched the blood splattering about at it flapped and bounced and tried desperately to get home. It would never get there, though and that made the young Bear smile cruelly. Just as the bird began to slow he pounced, driven by hunger. He relished the renewed horror and fear in its eyes and it breathed its last, savored the blood heavy with adrenaline.

Question: If someone you wish to breed your skinwalker with insists on all three breedings being together, how would you explain this in story canon? And How should this be handled in breeding forms?

They are not, can not be lifemated. It can be a matter of manipulation and control, or maybe they just happen to have bordering territory or something.

Not even remotely. In fact wandering into a family member's territory can definitely result in bodily harm

Question: If you have a hard time RPing a skinwalker in character, what can you do?.
Answer:
Ask staff if re-reading the available info doesn't help

Question: Skinwalkers can, on rare occasions, form packs/herds to organize an attack, but they always break apart shortly afterwards or sometimes even before they manage to stage the raid. What do you think happens to cause these breakups?
Answer:
They're all too filled with hate and selfishness to ever get along long

Question: In your own words, please explain the nature of Skinwalkers.
Answer:
Just complete unrepentant evil

Bear Cubed Equals...
Username: LOLTERNATIVE
Name: Bear "Chlorr" (Claw - it's how He prefers to kill. He likes the feeling of raking through flesh. )
Personality: Chlorr is horrible. Evil. He loves to toy with his victims; letting them escape before capturing them again and bringing them back to her den. He kills because He can - greedy and wasteful. He loves separating children from their families and watching as the search parties desperately search for the lost; all the while he has the child in her den - dead or alive. He has grown up on his own - as most skinwalkers do - and he prefers to stay that way. It means he doesn't have to share - food, glory or the thrill of the hunt.

He isn't the brightest of the bunch - not to say he's stupid - but he prefers to rely on brute strength and ferocity rather than calculative strategy - it's more.. natural to let his instincts take over. It's for this reason that he can sometimes be outsmarted - stomping through a forest gives warning and sometimes victims outrun her. Sometimes, if he's particularly fond of one victim he'll adapt, changing his approach to ensure the kill - though there's only so much he can adapt; i.e. he might choose to stalk his prey before claiming it but he may be taken by a trap.

He has a temper - unsurprising giving her violent nature. He tends to enter a berserker mode when enraged - whether it be the result of a hunt gone wrong or someone just getting in his way. It is rare for anyone to escape unscathed let alone alive during her rampages. He destroys everything in his sight until he's calmed down - usually after a nap which he awakes from hungry and proceeds to hunt. He loves to keep trophies of his victims - locks of hair, bones, personal items. They all line his den and he remembers each kill in vivid detail - despite the rapidly increasing number of trophies. His trophies remind him of who he is - how powerful he is.
Plot Ideas:

I'm trapped Given his reliance on brute strength and lack of any calculative intelligence and forsight I'd like for Chlorr to be terrorizing a herd - constantly attacking members, taking a few hostage for a couple days before releasing them - really building up the suspense and fear before he strikes and has his feast.

However, the herd isn't stupid. They're quite clever and have resources at their disposal. They set a trap - one Chlorr is lured into. He'll eventually escape - perhaps taking a victim or two with him - but it will likely make him re-think his strategies and he may start stalking other walkers that use such strategies in order to gain some insight - perhaps one would even be deemed a suitable gene donor - let's produce strong AND smart terrors.

Legacy: A plan I have for one of his future children - the child is vain and wishes to be the very best like no one ever was and appears to be constantly following their father and one-upping him. Where he tortures a village and makes off which one victim they slaughter the whole one. Queue daddy dearest teaching the brat a lesson - or perhaps the brat teaches him a lesson.

Pet: A particular soquili has gained his attention in some way or another - perhaps they are excellent at alluding him. Perhaps they seem just as twisted as he but they are weak. He takes this soquili and keeps them in his den - twisting them even more until they turn. (Possible skinwalker plot o u o)

Terror: Just general terrorising plots. Basket-napping, wounding, killing. A few group kills / attacks would be nice. I'd love to make him an antagonist of a specific heard to get plots rolling with that - likely the same herd as the first plot.

I swear to follow all Skinwalker rules, and keep anything that doesn't fit shop canon out of the shop threads and guilds: Of course.

RP Examples: 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 [Only just started RPing back at soq - I've had a lot more over the years but these are post-hiatus.]

Bonus RP: Bonus points.
Prompt: The foal inside the purewalker basket has just emerged. What is its first reaction to the outside world? What does it notice or begin to look for first?

Response: The restraints were coming free at last and he let out a growl as he struggled against them, nosing and raking claws against the wicker. Finally he popped free and he blinked, allowing his eyes to adjust to the light of day. It annoyed him - that he was already at a disadvantage having only just come out. He struck his basket, claws tearing through the wicker as if it were butter and his claws hot blades. Fury took him and he did not rest until there was no resemblance of his cage - nothing of his weakness.

He paused for a moment, sniffing the air. He smelt it - not far off. The smell of flesh; of blood waiting to be spilled. He heard rustling and could feel the life calling to him, begging to take it. He realised this was hunger - not just from luck of food. It was a burning hunger that pulled his shaky legs forward forcing him to gain his footing. He dug into the dirt and watched the bush rustling before he let out a roar - fear-inducing despite his small state - and launched at it; a flurry of claws and teeth.

The chase did not last and he ate the rabbit with all the slurps and groans of someone tasting the finest food after being starved for years. He ate all except the little tail which had appeared to have been severed during the kill. He nosed it, mouth open and ready to swallow it before he paused. It would do him well to remember his kills - remind him of himself. He took the tail up and moved onwards, constantly looking for signs of movement or the scent of life.

Answer:
If the two walkers had an agreement on their offspring being rather strong / vicious / pleasing - a begrudging agreement on two walkers who had copulated before and were like 'hey why not the last ones turned out pretty evil and not weaklings.'

It would be handled as multiple flings - not lifemate or lovemate.

Question: Do Skinwalkers form family units or care what their family thinks?
Answer:
Negative. They don't feel love and rarely make connections, even with offspring or relatives. Most walkers are abandoned as baskets to fend for themselves.

Question: If you have a hard time RPing a skinwalker in character, what can you do?.
Answer:
Read the guides - such as Mind's handy walker guide, contact Uta or another staff member, talk with other purewalker owners.

Question: Skinwalkers can, on rare occasions, form packs/herds to organize an attack, but they always break apart shortly afterwards or sometimes even before they manage to stage the raid. What do you think happens to cause these breakups?
Answer:
A lack of loyalty. Clashing personalities. Impatience. It's rare for a reason - it usually doesn't work. They're unlikely to listen to one walker give orders or directions.

Question: In your own words, please explain the nature of Skinwalkers.
Answer:
They're evil incarnate. Incapable of feeling anything other than their own desires; which are to kill, eat meat and cause whatever chaos they wish.
