Howler stalked near the edge of the forest - Winter had fallen over the lands and that mean hunting would be a little more difficult - he had to account for snowbanks and frozen rivers covered with snowbanks that owuld not be safe to cross... still, a wolf had to eat. He'd spotted a rabbit come out of it's hole a bit into the clearing, not far off was a raspberry mare - great, possible trampling if the rabbit ran for the bigger horse for cover. Why did the spirits always seem to curse his luck with the threat of getting trampled by these big horses? At least this one seemed busy, so he focused back on hunting the rabbit. Quiet now... quiet...
Berry was nosing through the snow, lookingfor grasses to munch on - her holly crown had fallen off already, it rested on the snow not far from her - she'd long gotten used to the fact that the crown of leaves and berries would always fall off, and so usually didn't mind when it did, just made sure to keep an eye on it so it wouldn't be stolen away from her.
Howler's ears and eyes were locked on the possible rabbit-meal. Just a few more steps and-
The Rabbit bolted, and Howler gave chase after it, tearing through the snow and snapping at the rabbit whenever he got close enough to try to take it down. Unfortunatly, the rabbit darted the Raspberry Mare's crown, getting the horses attention and startling her when he ran past as well, catching her crown on his leg.
Berry reared up, startled by the rabbit-wolf chase, but even more alarmed about her crown being stolen. "HEY! Get back here with my crown!!" she yelled, and decided to charge after the wolf - if she could just get in front of him and stop him, she could get her crown back! Though she probably wasn't as fast, she was sure the Wolf would slip or trip or... something, and let her get close enough to demand the return of her holly crown.
