Chimelu

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.Name: Chimelu [What God Has Created/African]
Race: Pureblooded Wind
Gender: Male
Marital Status: Single
Sexual Preference: Unknown, likely Pansexual
Base Traits: Dutiful - Forecful - Magnanimous

Dutiful; When Chimelu sets out to do something he's going to work at until it's done, even if it's not something he would have wanted to do himself. This usually applies to the elders or his parents.

Forceful; It's pretty accurate to say that Chimelu is rough around the edges and he likes to voice his opinion, even if that means making a few enemies. He's a little difficult to sway and doesn't liked to be pushed into things. Usually when Chimelu makes up his mind about something he's not likely to change it.

Magnanimous; Chimelu is rather forgiving and while he can be a bit rough around the edges at times he is a rather nice guy. He plays by the rules and even if his opponent isn't he's not going to get all bent out of shape.

Met him in the Alkidike war with Tahira. Felt a bit protective of him in the war since he seemed to be having a hard time. He healed Chimelu's shoulder wound and thoroughly impressed him. Seemed like a nice person.

👌 Tahira
Met him in the Alkidike war with Nuawahn. She seems to be really nice and isn't at all what he expected. She helped keep Nuawahn calm and treated the guys wounds.

👌 Zuri
Met prior to the Alkidike war in Zena. . . .

👌 Eira
Met along with Gyuri the day the decision was made to go to war with the Alkidikes. Nice lady who let him into her inn. Tried to help him not fear Gyuri as much, too. Wasn't too successful because Gyuri is huge and terrifying.

👌 Gyuri
Met along with Eira the day the decision was made to go to war with the Alkidikes. Would not mess with him, would probably faint if he ever got caught alone with him and is mostly terrified of him. See's the possibility that he may be a nice guy though (Eira's influence) and would try to give him a fair shot while trying not to have a panic attack. He would have a panic attack but he wouldn't die. . . hopefully.

Mez: Blurb

Belay [Father]: RP color: #336666
Assertive and a little overbearing. He doesn't know how to be quiet and is very rigid. He softens around his wife though and she seems to be the only one that can speak some sense into him.

Salihah [Mother]: RP color: #666666
A very quiet woman who has a very submissive but kind personality. She tends to stay at the back and offer her quiet reassurance and assistance when needed. Despite how it seems she's actually the strong one of the family.

Birungi [Sibling]: RP color: #999999
Born five months before the war "rising storm" was set to begin, Birungi is just a toddler. The boy seems to enjoy sucking on fingers and smiling. Chimelu is absolutely enamored with him.

Welcoming Baby Brother Birungi

Chimelu and his family had waited short of what felt like forever for his baby sibling to finally made the decision to grace them all with its presence. There had been a time when he wondered if his mother was really pregnant. He hadn't thought to count the number of months and his mother had only told him that it took almost a year for a baby to develop in a belly. He wasn't ignorant about how babies came into being or anything like that, however, he didn't exactly know how long it took for them to develop nor what to do with them after that. Now that the day had finally come he was sent to gather water from a nearby spring that they had been sticking close to lately because apparently hot water was very important to have when a baby arrived. He had to keep one pot of water on the fire while one was being used.

Then there was the screaming. He had heard his mother yell for him before when he was a young child, had even heard her curse, but never scream. Every time he heard her scream-crying he would cringe and try to heat the pots of water faster as if it was a way to help her. His father finally called him into the tent when night had nearly fallen. How long had she been in labor? Chimelu counted and realized this was her second night in labor. He of course hadn't gotten much sleep since her water broke and when he did it didn't last too long. He had to get up and help her walk around while he allowed his father to get some sleep or to hunt, make sure she didn't try to go to the bathroom for too long because she usually tried to push before it was time, give her sips of water and something to chew on occasion.

"I think its almost time." His father, Belay, said with a tired but happy grin. As Chimelu was led back into their makeshift hut his mother let out another scream. It made his toes curl up against the hard dirt floor and his eyes to squint. Why did giving birth have to be so painful? Why couldn't he do anything about it? If Chimelu could somehow take some, if not all, of her pain he would gladly do it. He hated to see others in pain and his mother was the highest on the priority list.

"It'll be worth it in the end." His father said with a laugh as he took in his son's reaction. Belay of course hated her pain just as much but he had gone through it before with her and knew that soon he would be holding a new baby in his arms, she would be grinning and both of them would fail at trying not to cry. Belay wondered more than once how his son would react to all of this--let alone a new sibling. It was silly to wonder though, Chimelu was responsible and far too kind hearted. His son would be both a brother and second father to his sibling, which didn't bother Belay one bit. His wife, Salihah, and him had talked about it a few times before they decided they were ready to have another child and a several more since she conceived about Chimelu. They knew that if anything happened to him or if they needed to go somewhere they couldn't take the baby, or even if Chimelu just wanted to take it somewhere--they could trust him to put the child first. Its safety would be incredibly important and the priority to him. Belay and Salihah were beyond proud of the son they had created together and hoped that this new child would be of similar disposition. Either way it would certainly be spoiled rotten.

It took about three more hours before the final pushing began. Chimelu was sitting by his mothers side as his father sat between her legs and helped the baby that was now on its way. His hand was in his mothers death grip and when he gently murmured calming words to her she would make grunting noises--probably of displeasure. He knew she wasn't angry at him, as she told him many times as she apologized, but it was also a little funny to see her get so angry over pleasant words. Chimelu was wiping the sweat from his mothers brow when he heard the cry of the baby as his father lifted it up for them to see. "Its. . " Belay choked on a cry of his own. "Its a boy." He managed to get out before handing the newborn over to Salihah. Chimelu's eyes tracked the tiny red being as it moved from one set of arms to the other. His mother was crying as she smiled down at her son and Chimelu seemed to be in shock.

Were babies so small? How could something so tiny make so much fuss? His brother certainly had a pair of lungs in him. Chimelu's focus was completely focused on the baby as his father cut the cord and finished up with the rest of the birthing procession before he joined his wife's other side. The baby was placed in his arms once more where he gently wiped it off. Once the baby was clean Belay smiled at the newborn. "What name did you decide on?" His father asked his mother, briefly glancing at her before smiling down again. "Birungi." She said happily. His father nodded his agreement. Then both of them looked at Chimelu. His mother patted his hand that had been resting on his knee and his gaze finally went from the baby to his mother. "Why don't you hold your new baby brother?" She asked rhetorically as his father began to hand him over.

They wanted him to hold that tiny thing? Was all he could think in response. He had so many concerns he wanted to voice, like what if he hurt it or what if his brother didn't like him, as the baby was placed in his folded arms and then all his concerns flew out the window as his brothers eyes made contact with his. Whether or not his brother realized what was going on or not didn't matter. Chimelu's heart melted instantly and a few tears streamed down his cheeks. "He's so tiny and so handsome." He sniffled as he looked up at his parents. Belay and Salihah were grinning like fools and only nodded. Chimelu's blue eyes strayed down to the tiny eyes of his brother. "Hi Birungi. I guess you're my baby brother. I don't know what to do with you just yet, but we have time to figure that out." He smiled down at the chubby little face that seemed to like sticking its tongue out. "I love you." He whispered as he kissed Birungi's forehead. Chimelu really didn't know what he was going to do or how to be a good big brother but he would do anything he could for this tiny little thing that he held in his arms. Chimelu still had all his same worries like whether or not this baby would like him, what if he hurt it, how does one even take care of a baby, but at the forefront was that he loved Birungi. As his father said, all that trouble and pain had been entirely worth it. At least for him. His parents grins seemed to exude the same happiness and instant loved that filled his heart.

"Welcome to the family Birungi."

Post Extremists War

War. War where one group believed that they needed to come conquer Sauti because of some sign, or something. His homeland. His home. It had been a no brainer that once the decision had been made to go to war that Chimelu would be on the front lines helping protect his home. It wouldn't be his first war and it would be for a worthy cause. Er, well, mostly worthy. They had tried to talk it out with the extremists but it hadn't worked. The other nations had risen up with Sauti though and faught the extremists, which had been good or else they wouldn't have won. They barely won this one. Honestly Chimelu hated war and the death that went along with it, but he knew he needed to do it in order to keep his homeland--his. His father Belay had joined the fight as well and his mother stayed home with his five month old baby brother. That little boy made his heart melt with his little smile. Birungi had that effect on everyone he met though. Complete strangers would comment on how happy and handsome he was. Chimelu hoped he wouldn't let those compliments go to his head when he got older, but it was true. Birungi wasn't able to talk or walk and could barely hold himself up at this point.

Chimelu sighed as he squatted down by the docks of Oba. His father had returned home instead of seeing the extremists off. He couldn't really blame him for going home, a new baby and a waiting wife. Chimelu didn't need an escort either. Chimelu wasn't upset about his father not being there but the more he stared out at the ocean the more he thought about not returning home. Not yet anyways. His thoughts were still on home though. What would his mother be doing right now? His father was probably home by now so they were most likely gathered in front of their makeshift hut listening to his father talk about the war, what happened and then the final outcome. His baby brother would laugh at the way the clouds looked or the faces his parents made to make him laugh loudly. He missed his family. He missed home. His thoughts took a turn towards the negative. Shouldn't he return home? Why hadn't he left with his father? Why did he feel he needed to see the extremists off? Chimelu couldn't fully answer those questions yet but he knew his reasons for not returning home.

For a while he had been contemplating traveling to other places besides Sauti and Zena. Hadn't he told that woman Zuri as much? Jauhar. That was close to Oba and he could also visit Matori and Tale while he was at it. A grin began to spread across his lips as he thought about seeing some place new. He was nervous but really excited too. What would it be like? Chimelu had never seen trees like the ones described to be in Jauhar and Tale. Sand? A new experience for him too. Chimelu really wanted to know more about the world he lived in. He wanted to understand the views of others. Were the alkidike extremists the only ones? That thought wasn't as prevalent in his mind but he had wondered since this war began what other people thought about the other areas of Tendaji. What did they think of Winds? He expected a lot of people to have mixed feelings of both the alkidikes and the winds after this war. Oba once more entered his thoughts. People had formed their opinions of this place after the war. Some weren't too positive if you listed to the Matori's or their supporters. "Hmm.." Chimelu said as he thought through his options.

What harm would it be to visit Jauhar? Ever since he had met Zuri he had thoughts and dreams about what it would be like. Some were a little more scary, where he fell from trees and broke his leg or something and others he dreamed he could talk to trees! Was it possible to talk to trees? The alkidikes did and apparently the tree listened. Would the trees in Jauhar listen to him and respond? "That's a strange thought." He said with a laugh before rising to his feet.

He would visit Jauhar. Maybe he could try talking to trees and see if they listened. Chimelu didn't think they would but he figured, why not? Apart from looking crazy. Well. . . He would just try it when no one was there. He almost laughed at himself but managed to hold it in. People would think he was crazy. Okay. He had a semi-plan now. Chimelu decided he would make the trip to Jauhar and then from there. . . maybe Tale and then Matori before going through Oba and then Sauti, to return home. That seemed like a decent plan. He knew nothing about what he would need for the trip or how hard it would be but he, for once, didn't focus on that. He would go into town and gather supplies for the trip and then head out early in the morning after a good nights rest. Yeah, he could do this. "When I get home I'll be able to tell Birungi all about it too. Maybe in a couple years I can take him to see those places too." Chimelu said with a smile to himself. His heart warmed despite the ache he felt in his chest at the thought of his brother.

Chimelu figured this trip would take him a couple months to complete at maximum. It might have been an ambitious thought but he really hoped it wouldn't take longer because his brother was already five months old. If he was gone for a few months he might be able to make it back in time for Birungi to turn a year old and he really didn't want to miss it. If he did? He would have to get over it and just revel in the experiences he had while he was gone. Chimelu hoped that this trip would work out. Otherwise. . . Was it really worth it?

"No. I can do this and its going to be great." He said, his head raised high. Maybe he could fake confidence.
