Kelina had known since the tournament that it was only a matter of time until the people from Oba would come. She had done her best to prepare herself since then. Kel had changed since the tournament, she had even gained a rank! Something she was very proud of. When she and her sister had heard that war was coming, they had both set out to do what they could. Lasarra was around the camp somewhere, but it was Sauron she was looking for. The two had become fairly close in the weeks before the start of the war. After she found Sauron, she would look for Lasarra. She wanted all of her loved ones with her for as long as she could. Kelina didn't know what would come of this war, but fighting was never good.
Ethelfleade: post 1
It was one of her first times this far away from home, but Ethelfleade wasn't event the slightest bit homesick. War was a terrible thing, yes, but it was also exciting! All the new people, the adrenaline. What all could she do to help her people? It was a wonder to her that all of the different races and halfbreeds that had come to gather to protect their homeland. Some to fight, and some to fight on the side lines, where it could be even scarier than on the battlefield. She had loads of respect for those people, knowing she could never do what they do. Fleade's eyes were wide and full of light as she strode confidently through the camp. Still only a prentice, Fleade knew there were plenty of people above her to shout orders at her, but she only wanted to prove herself, and protect her homeland.
Finnley: post 1
The young shifter's eyes were wide, but not with excitement. All the hustle and bustle of the camp had somewhat scared naive little Finnley. But she was determined to do everything she could. Perhaps she would learn a lot! That was the driving factor for why the young timid girl was among the tents, looking rather lost.

Natsu post 1 - Close to Finnley
Natsu was fairly nervous about the approaching attack, and clutched Viveka close to his side as the walked through the tents. He hoped everyone made it out alive, especially Rastian, Ogbonna, and Yaholo. He loved them dearly, and didn't want any harm to befall them.
"Viv, sweet, let's sit over here and I'll play us a song, okay?" He produced a wooden flute from his pocket and patted the ground. "Try to remain calm for me, please?"
Viveka post 1 - With Natsu
Viveka was already rolling through paranoia after paranoia, and could barely hold himself upright. Natsu was guiding him as best he could through the tents, caressing his hair and giving him little pecks on the cheek, but it wasn't doing very much to quell his nerves. What if his brother died out there? Or worse, what if they all died out here? He sat down next to Natsu and flopped upon him, shaking.
"I don't know if I can!" He exclaimed. "I'm trying! I really am!"
Pahana post 1 - In a storage tent with Tahigwa
"I don't know how I'm going to keep up with them, sis!" Pahana exclaimed as she packed another satchel of supplies for a warrior who needed it. "I may be fast and flexible, but I've already lost them, like, five times! I don't think like a child anymore!"
She placed a few vials of liquid and a bag of nuts into the main pocket of a woman's bag and heaved a sigh. "Do you think I should just go home, Tahi?" She asked. "You know, quit while I'm ahead?"
Tahigwa post 1 - In a storage tent with Pahana
Tahigwa listened to Pahana's words as she polished her swords and shook her head. No, no, she couldn't leave now, they needed her here! Who would watch the boys and handle the supplies while they were fighting the invaders? Pahana was just as valuable as everyone else.
"Girl, cool it, okay?" She quipped, giving Pahana a quick squeeze. "We need you here, all of us. Just take a deep breath and try to relax. The boys will calm down once we're gone, they'll be too concerned with that to wander around. Just keep calm and they'll be calm, too."

Finnley: post 2
Finnley had just been trying to figure out where she might go to be of the most help when the most lovely music drifted towards her. It was soft, but easy to hear. She knew it wasn't far away. Music was a great way to calm people at a time like this, it was already doing wonders for her nerves. Following the sound of the sweet music where she found two men sitting on the ground, an ice man and a wind man. She had never met a member of either of the races and she had to admit that they intrigued her.
"Your music is lovely. I-I heard it while walking through the tents. It's...very calming." Her hands fiddled in front of her, showing her awkwardness and shyness. She was doing better than she normally did with strangers, but that might just be because of her situation. "Would....would you mind if I sat and listened?" She asked the man who was playing. It would probably do her some good to calm down a little bit. "Oh, forgive me, it was rude of me not to introduce myself. I'm F-Finnley."

Natsu post 2
Natsu's lips gently blew into the flute, his eyes closed. The melody produced was certainly calming and might remind one of wind chimes on a summer day due to the warm feeling it gave. He left his flute only when Finnley spoke, and a bright smile came to his features.
"Hello, Finnley." He said, patting the ground beside him. "I'm Natsu, and I would love it if you were to sit a listen with us. This is my Viveka, he's a little scared right now, which is why I'm playing."
Viveka post 2
Viveka's head rose when Natsu stopped playing, his gaze pausing at the sight of the pig-tailed shifter before them. She looked so young, what was she doing out here all on her own? He sat up straight, though still leaning on Natsu, and reached out for her.
"Goodness, are you here by yourself?" He asked, his mouth gaping. "Please, stay here with us where it's safe, at least for now, I think..." He blushed and buried his face in Natsu's chest. "Forgive me... I'm just worried for my brother... He's among the fighters..."

Rayolun post 2 He finally spotted his 'brother' Gerrarden walking next to another Shifter Alkidike half breed... a male one too. There certainly are a lot of mixes between my people and the Alkidikes he thought with a smile as he snuck up on Gerrarden. Or maybe I just seem to see the few who are there and it just seems like that since I keep to myself.....
Slinking up to one side of Gerrarden, he slipped a foot to trip the taller man as he grabbed Gerraden's head into a lock with his arm. "Hey there, Gerrarden. Hope you aren't planning on doing anything too rash out here." He said mildly as he gave the stranger next to Gerraden a smile. "Name's Rayolun. I'm this eager one's adopted brother." It felt nice to say brother, made the world seem a little less lonely.
Senja post 1 She rode in on her Mammu, looking down and looking for familiar faces as she brought in a delivery for the healers. Since she had Shilea and was headed this direction to join Rastian, she might as well be useful and carry supplies right? After she unloaded them she sighed and stretched. Rastian was here right? He was a healer and would be on the front lines since he was so very eager to help others. Not that that's a bad thing, she thought, just a bit dangerous. Or maybe she'd run into Niadra... Hope I haven't worried her or the Troupe too much by disappearing! Not that the performance happened anyways since this news must have hit just before it was to be held. Maybe I can run into one of them and tell them what happened.... She twirled her many chambered pipes as Ete fluttered above her head. Pity there won't be a need for dancing.. but I can at least play some music to help the wounded feel sightly better right?

[Hijil - With Yaholo and Rastian ]
Hijil sat down, oddly graceful for one so... large. "Yes. I have." she said, shaking Rastian's hand after some hesitation. She had forgotten that that was a thing that was done...
"I am Hijil. It is good to meet you, Rastian." she said, looking inquiringly at the beans. She knew what they were - she had eaten them by accident once and had been bouncing off of the trees. She had sworn not to eat them again.
However...
"Spare one?" she asked, holding out a gauntleted hand for the beans, glancing up at Rastian. "My hands." she said simply, "I use my hands." she noted his staff. "Mage?"
[Nuawahn - Ogbonna - some rocks!]
Nuawahn, who had started to skip, stopped and did a little twirl, turning to face Ogbonna. "Hi!" he said, trotting over. "Things? You can get things?" Nuawahn grinned, "What sorts of things?" asked Nuawahn, curious, looking the young guard over. He was vaguely familiar, but obviously if he met the young boy, then the memory was in that foggy place that a lot of Nuawahn's older memories were. Which was fine, it just meant that he had to get to know them all over again, and that sounded far more fun than just remembering. "Beads? Yes. I need them. I'm a Healer, see!" he said, pointing to himself, "Or will be!" he'd always thought it just plain nice to heal people, and here he was, doing that. Or he would be. "Oh, isnt this exciting?" he asked, hopping from foot to foot joyfully.
Nope.
Still didn't understand the gravity of the situation.
[Ruelash - Tending to Direk - Animal Pen]
Ruelash was tending to Direk, getting her warmed up and ready to fight and kill and maim and... and... He was so excited, he could barely contain himself.
"Aye, this'll be fun, girl. Yes, you're my mean girl, yes you are..." he patted her side gently, "We're gonna cut a bloody swatch through those Obans, yes we are..."
The men he trained with were here too - he'd come here with them - but he hadn't bothered to seek them - or anybody else - out in the crowd. Not that he was looking for anybody specific.
"Winta ain't gonna be here." he said out loud to Direk, who huffed at him. "She'd better not be." he mumbled, "Don' want her gettin' herself hurt."
He'd gotten used to odd thoughts like that. But, of course, she wouldn't be here, and wouldn't be getting hurt, because she was all the way in Yera and would be fine.
He didn't have to... worry. "Agggh..." he muttered, checking Direk's barding. Worry was strange. He just wanted to be out killing people.
Post 2 Uquin had been content to sit and watch the healers in the tent - but when one, a Shifter man, stepped to the entrance of the tent and called out, the young prentice found himself scrambling to his feet, wide-eyed. He should have expected that such a call would go out, yet he still felt incredibly lucky. Back in Yera he'd had quite a bit of trouble finding a healer to shadow - many had already left for the war, or to aid in other places. At least here... maybe he could learn something, anything. Assuming they'd get out of this alive - there was always the risk that the enemy would break through and murder them all for standing up to them. He nearly shuddered at the thought.
"I am!! That is - I hope to become a healer. Sir." Uquin called, lowering his voice and his head in a respectful bow as he came closer. With a quick look he noted the man seemed nervous - although that wasn't any thing special, everyone here was tense and wound up.

Ogbonna post 2
Ogbonna watched Nua twirl about, his head tilting slightly to the side. This boy looked familiar, but not very, and seemed very happy to be here at the war. Maybe he was trying to prove himself to everyone else just like he was? That was something worth being excited about!
"You're going to heal? My uncle knows all about that!" He chirped, hopping over to Nua's side. "And, yes! I'm excited, too! But, we have to be careful, everyone else is counting on us to do out best!"
He hopped from foot to foot with Nua, thinking it was some sort of training exercise, and smiled.
Dyakida winced as the loud sister came over, flinching at the pressure on her shoulder. She really, genuinely, wished she hadn't been stuck with her, but ah well.
"Kaalnia," she said, checking her precious chisel, "I need you to go outside and see if you can find some people for me." Dyakida knew she couldn't shake the obnoxious girl entirely, but she could get her away for a few Aisha-blessed moments, at least. "There are friends of mine fighting out there, and sisters I would like to try to talk to before blood is shed." she said. And that was true enough. Some of the very interesting people she had met in her travels might not return, and she wanted to remember them, should that happen.
Kaalnia patted the shoulder. "Sure thing, Kida! Who do ya want?" she asked. Damn, that was a good set up. Clearly, Dyakida wanted her - or would want her - everybody sort of did - but she'd let it slide. "I'll get them for ya, faster than you can say 'Aisha's Petals!" she posed proudly, then deflated. Crud. She kept forgetting the blindness thing. Dumb, dumb, dumb. And not cool.
"Is that so." Dyakida had to resist gritting her teeth or 'accidentally' hitting Kaalnia with something small and possibly sharp. She sincerely hoped that it would take Kaalnia longer than that. Much longer. Not too long, Dyakida supposed, but long enough to give her a damn break. "If you could find my friend Aminah... She's a Leaf-shifter hybrid, I believe... she began, listing them off of her fingers, "Rastian - he's... leaf-ice?, Yaholo... A leaf sister of ours... and...." she frowned, "I think his name was Rishima? A shifter sister of ours. Oh, and Bhima, another sister." she smiled, satisfied, "I would like to talk to them before they go off to war, if possible..." That, at least, was true.
"Uh..." Kaalnia blinked, her brain struggling to hold all the information. "Thats a lot of people, Kida." she said, grimacing, "And you didn't, you know, exactly describe them..." She at least knew Yaholo, so that wouldn't be too hard, she supposed. And then she remembered. "Oh... uh... Right. Sorry 'bout that, Kida."
Dyakida would have really liked Kaalnia to stop calling her by her nickname. "No. I can't describe them. You'll just have to find them with what I told you." she smiled softly, "I'd like to speak to them. Soon, if possible."
"It might take a bit longer than what I said before... Is that okay?" asked Kaalnia, a little daunted.
"Oh no..." said Dyakida, trying to keep her smile from growing smug, "Thats just fine. Why don't you get to it before the fighting starts?"
"Allright..." Kaalnia said, a little put out, but only a little. She pushed the flap of the tent and waved. I'll be back in a bit! she stepped out of the tent and started to look for the people. Even though she had no idea who most of them were...
Dyakida smirked as she left. Finally, some peace and quiet.

WintaPost one
The preparation required before things got really crazy were vast and endless. It had taken her every moment allowed to stock all the weapons she could and of course testing out a new material for weapons. Needless to say--she had been up to her eyeballs in work. Since she had her own tent set up among the other weapon makers it was at least reassuring to know that she wouldn't be by herself and that anything that she might need help with would at least be quickly handled. "Whoo!" Winta cheered, her arms reaching up into the air. She was excited beyond imagine at the prospect of having a job. It helped that there were nothing but weapons being shown about the camp too. Was this heaven? If not it was certainly a close second. This wasn't the time to say it but, if she died now at least she would die happy.
ChimeluPost one
When it was time for War to be had Chimelu had to undergo some trials which eventually led him to deciding on his lifelong career. It hadn't been an easy time but now that his decision was made he didn't regret it in the least. Archery seemed to be the perfect fit for him and now that he had chosen this path to walk on he couldn't believe it had taken him this long to make it. As thrilling as it was though he couldn't help but feel a slight ache in his chest at the thought of leaving his mother and father behind. His father had been planning on participating in the war but now that he was staying home it at least didn't completely strain the family. With his mom now pregnant and them not knowing how long this war would last it seemed the best choice for his father to stay behind with his mother considering Chimelu wouldn't have the slightest idea as to what to should something go wrong nor would he know what to look for if his mom was too worried about his dad off fighting in the war. Not that him being here instead helped ease her worries. It was all really complicated. Chimelu scratched the back of his head, stopping mid-step and made a sound--that if he had voiced louder--would have been a curse. "Chimelu, don't screw this up before its already begun." He told himself.

Shukri(p1)
War was not something Shukri was particularly happy to be a part of. While he himself would not be engaging in the fighting he had become part of the support entourage. Though his self serving nature usually got the better of him Shukri could not deny that every able bodied person was needed in this time. The young man had traveled with others of his group and kin to the appointed meeting place.
With him he brought Ridwan the Capramel who carried supplies and could help carry litters of wounded if need be. Shukri had never bred the gift doe from Faiza and thus she would not however be able to provide milk. Others who came with Capra had milk producing females though and the camp would likely not be in short supply. Tribes who lived on different lands also seemed to be bringing creatures that offered food and would be of little extra burden to the group as a whole. As well as beasts that would take part in the fighting.
Thema, the young sailscale had also come along with Shukri. As the young man unpacked Ridwan he kept an ear out for the telltale hiss that meant Thema had found something objectionable or particularly interesting. He had not intended to bring her to war but the stubborn creature would not be left behind. The wind tribe man supposed that if nothing else the sail scale offered him companionship and a lower likelihood of bugs or small rodents getting into the food stores that would attract such creatures looking for easy meals.

Kadriye (p1)
Kadriye found herself hovering just outside of the tent that contained those who would be leading the united tribes into battle. Though she was a mystic and a future leader to her tribe Kadriye had nothing to offer those currently deliberating. As it was she had only taken up the mantle of a fighter not that long ago. Something had called her to wield magic and weapons alongside her fellow sisters. Her antenna twitched slightly as she thought of home, of Aisha and Eshe. Her mentor had stayed behind to tend to the great mother and the lotus that would bloom from her. War did not stop new life from entering into the Alkidike tribe after all.
Kadriye would follow Yansa into battle and hopefully return from war having learned much and proven herself to her sisters. It was her first time so far from home and such an important time as well. There was little room for error as far as she was concerned. Kadriye was determined to make Aisha proud and justify this lapse in her studies.
"Any sign Qi?" As she spoke Kadriye's dark eyes glanced upwards to look at the small blue sprite. She had her little companion on the lookout for those they knew and would find comfort being nearest to.

Aysun Post 2
Aysun turned away from his grandmother for a moment when he heard a voice calling out to them, turning to spot two rather strange looking boys standing there in front of him. He starred at the pair of them for a long moment before he stepped in closer to them, one of his ears giving a little twitch, before he said, "Heeeeey... Chandra, these boys look kinda like that giant bug woman we met at the tournament." He commented, finding this to be a rather interesting sort of discovery. He'd never seen anyone like this, a bug person who was all dark skinned, dark eyed, had antennae, and was a boy. At least he was guessing that they were at least since they were nothing like Sathe who was the only girl their age that they'd ever met.
He lifted his free hand, reaching out toward the one called Samoset, half tempted to catch hold of one of those antennae to see what it felt like. He stopped though when the other boy ran into Samoset's back and ended up on the ground. He starred at him oddly, gave a snort, "What do you mean what am I?" What a weird question, he could ask the same thing of these two odd looking boys he thought to himself.
Taking a half step back, making sure that he was in front of Chandra so he could protect his meeker twin, he said, "I'm Aysun and this is my twin, Chandra. As for what we are we are Earthlings. What about you? Something like those bug ladies, right?"

Rishima Post 2
Rishima looked at the hand that was resting on his shoulder, then back to Gerraden, giving him a long look, "Gerraden." He said in a serious tone of voice, "We aren't here because we are looking to have fun. This is a serious situation against an unknown enemy force!" If it were something fun then he wouldn't be so stressed out or finding it to be difficult to sleep when Gerraden wasn't about forcing him to take a rest from his compulsive patroling. The fact that he was acting as though it might be fun drove him buggy! This was all the more reason for why he needed to keep an eye on him, to keep him safe from himself he thought to himself.
"If you want to be here to look after our people, to get stronger, those sorts of things I suppose I can understand but I think it might be best if I keep a close eye on you." It would keep him from getting hurt, perhaps? Though maybe that was him being really arrogant, huh? Something he shouldn't allow himself to be since this battle wasn't going to be something one man alone could win. Still, maybe his power would be enough to protect Gerraden? He supposed he would see soon enough.
Turning his head to one side his mismatched eyes locked on the Shifter that was addressing Gerraden, a man named Rayolun who declared himself as Gerraden's adopted brother? Interesting. Giving a smile, his antennae giving a little twitch, he said, "It is good to meet you, my name is Rishima." A half brother, huh? He hadn't met him when meeting with Gerraden's parents making him for a moment curious about him but he felt that it might appear rude to ask Gerraden why he hadn't introduced him to his brother. Especially given that he hadn't introduce his stalker to Jerarda as of yet either.

((Standing with Keilana and Takoda, off to the side ))
Jacinthus Post 1
The small group was standing off to the side, watching the others as they gathered, taking it all in. The war that had been looming for so long, it was finally here. It was one of those things that actually pleased Jacinthus a bit. He didn't much care for those from Oba given the run in that he and Chalcedony had with them not all that long ago. The fact that they would now have to deal with them in force made his ears twitch in distaste, "I hope that we are able to deal with the invaders quickly." He muttered to those nearest to him, feeling as though there were far better things that they could be doing right now, but those things were all put on hold so that they could deal with these upstarts. Such a huge pain in the backside he thought to himself.
Turning to look over at his mate, his sister, and the father of his nephews he gave them a once over as well. They were the ones that he wanted to protect most, along with his nephews who were currently being looked after by Chalcedony's mother. It was strange, standing side by side with someone that drive him crazy like Chalcedony did, but he went from a huge bother to an ally due to their common enemy. So odd.
Looking back over the battlefield he then said, "We will have to do our best so that our family will remain safe." And fight hard to keep those Oban bastards from getting anywhere close to where they were standing right now. He didn't want them within miles of the little ones.
Chalcedony Post 1
Chalcedony gave a bit of a nod in agreement with what Jacinthus was saying, wanting to see the invaders dealt with as much as he did. At the same time he worried that it wouldn't be quite as simple as the archer seemed to think it was. They had no idea exactly how many warriors they would have with them, nor did they know how dangerous they were, what battle styles they used. There was so much that they didn't know and the best that they could do at the moment was to await word from the elders, to get all the information that they might have, and use that in the up coming battles.
He glanced over at Takoda, opening his mouth for a moment, then closed it again before he looked away. There was a part of him that wanted to speak with his fellow Shifter before they went into the battle but he doubted that it was really the time for it. Not to mention that he somehow doubted that the archer would allow him to lead Takoda off for a private chat. How he wished that he wasn't here or that he would just stay back with the other healers and with the twins, at least then they would know that the three of them would be safe. Takoda knew his mother, they'd met before in the past, and she would be only too happy to have his help. He didn't know how they would take it though if he suggest that Takoda stay behind. It might not be a welcome suggestion.
Giving a little sigh he said, "I am sure that the twins will be alright, so best that we try to cover one anothers backs." Even if the idea of fighting alongside Jacinthus yet again was an odd thing. The two of them could go back to butting heads later, after the war was over, for now they had to protect each other even if it wasn't what they would do on a normal day.
