Drugs: Haley enjoys smoking marijuana. She’s not uncontrollable about this, however. She keeps her recreational drug use kept in private and wouldn’t dare to show up to work in any intoxicated state. She stays out of trouble, and her parents are fully aware of her habit, and participate in the activity as well. On rare or special occasion, Haley uses other drugs, particularly naturally hallucinogenic but not biologically addictive drugs, including shrooms or acid (LSD).

Gardening: Haley and her family have a beautiful garden in their backyard of a variety of plants that they pride themselves highly on. This is something that is a bonding activity with her family, but also a hobby of hers individually and something she intends to pursue when she no longer lives with her family, if she ever decides to leave.

Protesting: If there’s a protest to join, Haley is likely to be in attendance. She’s a very political girl, and if an opportunity to change the world presents itself, she’ll be first in line to make sure things start changing. Her protests are for liberal or environmental care causes, whether its changes supporting the green movement, fighting for civil rights, or speaking out against corrupt politicians.

No Carbon Footprint: Coming from her background, she was raised to leave a minimal carbon footprint. Environmental care is a priority of hers. She will never be caught littering, wasting energy, or in any way harming the environment. Rather, she’ll clean up after those who do litter, be sure that no energy is wasted in her company, and lecture her friends on the importance of environmental care. She also does not have air conditioning in her home, or a television. She isn’t without any technologies - her family owns one personal computer that is used when required. She also owns a basic cellphone.

Virtues:

Sunshine and Rainbows: Its hard to imagine that a girl born with the name Butterfly would end up anything but cheery. She is always in an elated state of mind, whether naturally or with the help of other substances. You can insult her all she wants, but whatever, she won’t let the man bring her down, man. Haley loves having groups of friends to hang out with. She’s a sweet girl who understands others and wishes for everyone to find the same happiness she has. She wouldn’t intentionally hurt any of her friends.

Passionate: Haley is incredibly passionate about the people and things that she cares about. She is loyal to her friends, and would defend them when they are not around. She cares very deeply for them, and as such can be blunt and honest when she feels she needs to be. She keeps their secrets, has their back, and is willing to help them out. She is also very passionate about the things she does and her lifestyle – if she is doing something on her own free judgment or will, she has a strong conviction to motivate her.

Carefree: When it comes to having fun, goes with the flow. She’s very adventuresome, easy-going, and open to trying new things so as long as they don’t against her values. She loves to be surrounded by her friends, and generally lets them call the shots. If it sounds fun, she’s there and thrives – can often be the life of a party.

Flaws:

Careless: When it comes to working or anything less than fun, Haley is a lazy bum. Although she holds a job as a barista at a small coffee shop, and she puts in minimal effort into her job and often makes mistakes. This is both part of her reluctance to have to do any work and having never been encouraged to achieve anything. When a crisis situation presents itself, she is often too relaxed to do anything about it, thinking things will work themselves out in the end. She’d follow a command, but wouldn’t take initiative and never give 110%.

Drug Habits: Although Haley is relatively responsible for with her drug habit, this does not mean there are no consequences to her habits. If she were to be under the influence of drugs and needed to get involved in a battle, there could be consequences. Furthermore, she may face consequences in her personal or professional life due to the habits being generally looked down upon.

Cuckoo Bird: Haley is a little…out there. She lives highly in her imagination and in her own fantasies. She believes in crazy or magical theories about the universe, whether it be talking about past lives, having visions of the future, or bizarre superstitions. These crazed theories and fantasies occasionally prevent her from doing things, thinking there will be negative results if she does. She can easily also sound absolutely crazy when talking about these sorts of things, which may distance others from her.

Overly Political: Just as Haley’s imagination can be debilitating, so can her political beliefs. She frequently lectures her friends for their behaviors and laying guilt upon them for wasting resources. She also brings up politics into casual discourse, which can be very off-putting and lead to many arguments.
Furthermore, her refusal to be wasteful has debilitated her in other ways. She does not own a television or other technologies that she views as wasting too much energy, and as a consequence has found herself to be behind on the times. Many pop cultural references go over her head.

Beginnings. At the age of nineteen, Haley Jones was living in Destiny City with her parents. A vocal, fun-loving and occasionally reckless girl, she spent all of her time living life to its unrestricted fullness. When out at the bars of Destiny City with her friend with benefits, Alex, a new course to her life was set in motion. Alex had disappeared that night, only to later be found dead from mysterious causes, much like hundreds of others who have mysteriously died or vanished in Destiny City. Haley felt there must be change, there must be answers, and decided that night to dig deeper into the mysteries of Destiny City ("No Reply").
Untrusting of the government and police, and uncertain how to use computer technologies, Haley went to the library for answers where the librarian, Anthony Darrow, instructed her to check old newspaper microfiches ("Searchin"). She also started to protest in the parks of Destiny City, demanding the officials of the city to take greater action in protecting its citizens. In her protest efforts, she met with a tattooed-boy, Leslie Warwick, who she got along with well ("Nothing Shakin (But the Leaves on the Trees)").

Gone Camping. As her protest campaign failed to start up in the way she hoped, she decided to distract herself with a camping trip and set up a tent not far from the summercamp, Camp Larkspur. After setting up camp, one of the park rangers, Azzo Crowley, caught her smoking a joint. While he didn't recognize the scene as marijuana, he lectured her for smoking and told her how to contact him if she runs into any trouble ("Not Guilty"). Her friend Kam later visited her in the woods where they took shrooms together, hung out and had sex ("Day Tripper"). However, her 'fun' vacation soon took a turn for the worse when a strange creature - a youma - attacked her in her tent that night. She ran for her life, screaming for help, when Azzo came to save her. He revealed himself to be Niflhel Page of Saturn and distracted the beast. She continued to run, tripping over a strange talking cat that awakened her into Sailor Aster, the Senshi of Sunflowers ("Run For Your Life"). Later, when Camp Larkspur was attacked by forces of Chaos, Sailor Aster did her best to assist in the battle that ensued ("Something Strange in the Neighborhood").

A New Scout. After her awakening, Haley tried to continue her life as per usual, meeting up with her friend and drug dealer Kess ("Whats the New Mary Jane?"). Otherwise, she was slowly learning the ropes of what it meant to be a Sailor Scout. She fought with an ally of her faction, Sailor Atë, the Senshi of Pollution due to their opposing viewpoints and Aster mistaking her for an enemy ("You Cant do That"). She had to defend herself against Captain Ilmenite by attacking his groin, despite claiming to be non-violent ("I Dont Want to Spoil the Party"). Aster also teamed with Sailor Pomona to fight Lieutenant Osumilte, further honing her battle skills ("September in the Rain"). She later fought along side Sailor Arcahne, arguing with the fellow Senshi about the justifcations for attacking a youma - unsure if they are an innocent creature or an enemy ("Shout").

The Surrounding. A major turning point in her life as a Senshi came when Haley's friend, Ricky Cunningham, suddenly vanished in thin air. Suspicious that the Negaverse had something to do with this, Haley set off as Sailor Aster to go looking for him ("Nowhere Man"). She had learned that many civilians had disappeared and through her Senshi connections, learned they were safe in a place called the Surrounding, operated by the Zodiac Senshi, a barrier that protects space itself. In a relief effort attempt, Sailor Aster baked pot brownies for the stranded civilians, hoping to supply aide to them - but the Surrounding was not as safe as she had thought as they were attacked by strange creatures ("High, High Up in Space"). Later, Sailor Aster found Ricky in the infirmary of the Surrounding, recovering from an attack he had faced as well. Determined to not let anything else bad happen to her friend, she set out looking for more answers ("Not a Second Time").

What Doesn't Kill You... On one of her trips to bring supplies to the refugees in the Surrounding, Sailor Aster was attacked by two agents of the Negaverse - Captain Fluorite and Sailor Alunite - who mercilessly attacked her and stabbed her as she begged to be let go ("In Spite of all the Danger"). She was tossed into a fountain, left to drown, and she slowly sunk to the bottom without energy to fight off certain death ("Yellow Submarine"). Luckily, Aster rescued at the last moment by Zodiac Sailor Virgo and brought to the Surrounding's infirmary where the magic there was able to restore her to good health. Sailor Virgo cautioned her to be more careful and lectured her about the importance of realizing that this a war, and she needed to be stronger and fight back ("Doctor Robert").

...Makes You Stronger. Following this near-death experience, Haley faced major anxiety where she often hallucinated Captain Fluorite or Sailor Alunite following her around, sending her into panic attacks that made her want to act violently towards them ("Devil in Her Heart"). Her friend Kess was even able to tell something was up and offered to teach her kickboxing for self defense ("With a Little Help From My Friends"). However, Sailor Aster was still afraid to fight any agents of the Negaverse, until a guardian cat ********* came to her comfort. With ********* guidance, Aster traveled to her home asteroid where she had flashbacks to her past life as Eli - desperately looking for some woman. Confused and stressed about all of her anxieties, ********* helped her overcome this hurdle by training her to power up to Super Sailor Aster, an even stronger Senshi ("Across the Universe").
