Super Sailor Aster had a bone to pick. The fiasco at the carnival had been pulled off too smoothly, and fueled by her personal loss from the events - the tragic deaths of two of her closest friends, Michael and Desiree - the typically optimistic and peaceful Senshi of Sunflowers had shifted into vengeance mode as she looked for answers. She snuck around the now-closed carnival under renovations, scouting around past the various crime scenes and identified the young man in charge from afar, following him and stalking him like a predator to her prey. She wanted answers and had the sneaking suspicion that he was more than just an ordinary carnival manager. He must be a part of the Negaverse, and the whole carnival must be a trap set up by them. She felt is must be true. As the police started to clear the area, she followed the manager all the way to his office in the carnival grounds, waiting a few minutes for him to settle inside before storming into the room defiantly like a hero barging to the rescue - or really, more like an invasive intruder. "Don't move," she ordered to him. "I want answers."

Chester had not yet come to terms with what had happened during his grand opening. He saw the destruction, and witnessed the chaos, and of course he had those that died or were injured on his conscience, but he had not allowed himself to react to it emotionally. He had paper work, lawyers, people to answer his phones and process everything that needed to be processed. He was working as hard as he could, but even still, he was avoiding the real issues.
He was crossing through the ruined amusement park, looking over the damage for the thousandth time, his expression blank, even his mind silent. He simply absorbed it all, memorized it. He would never forget any of this.
It looked like a war scene, creepy and depressing. He didn't look away from it though, until he got to his office behind the boardwalk. It was a large building, with a few different offices in it as well as a security desk and the lost and found. He went past those, though, to his own personal area.
A second home, of sorts. It was furnished like an apartment, with just the essentials. He stayed here when he was working hard during the building stages, though now he just could not bring himself to leave the ruins of all his effort. When the senshi barged in he made to stand from his sofa, though he stopped at her order.
"Answers to what? I don't have anything for you," he said, not needing to really question her to know what she wanted to talk about. She was probably one of the dozens of people who had been caught up in that hellish fight.

"Bullshit," she spat back, taking a threatening and angry step forward. She wasn't one to typically get this angry, this close to threatening violence, but she was determined and furious, and felt kindness wasn't going to get her far in this case. Especially when she was so suspicious of his motives to begin with. "I want answers. There's no way all of this could have been pulled off without knowing how the carnival was set up, without some help from the inside. You must know something, now start talking." "What do you know about the Negaverse?" she questioned.

It took him a moment to process what he was hearing.
"You think I helped the negaverse attack and damage my carnival? Something I have built over the years, traveled with, improved. Something I watched grow and gave my life to, until this grand opening that I had prepared for every day for the last few months. You think I fill my park with monsters and wanted everyone who came to enjoy themselves to instead suffer at the hands of those demons?"
His temper was rising and he moved toward her. He was furious by her accusations and barely able to contain himself. He grabbed her by the collar, though without being powered up there wasn't much he could really do to her, unless she was being careless.
"I had nothing to do with that attack, and did everything I could to fight against them." He didn't power up yet, not even thinking about it, though with his anger taking control he would not be able to control himself if he was pushed much farther. In his own defense, or more likely because the damage done to his park and to those people hurt so badly.

"Hey, watch it," Aster said, shoving at the man to push him back as he tried to grab hold of her. If she was trying to be threatening before, she was the one feeling threatened now - and that didn't ease any of her suspicions, even if his words and passions were ringing true. He seemed to be at least a little familiar with the term Negaverse - which also didn't ease her suspicions. There was something this guy knew that he wasn't letting on. "What do you mean you did everything you could to fight against them?" she questioned proudly, as if she took any part in defending the carnival during the attacks. No, instead she was too stoned to fight, hiding out in a bathroom stall for much of the action. "What do you know?"

He stared at her, surprised and angry. He growled, shoving his way past her and turning to look at her.
"I am one of you, you idiot," he said, his temper lost at this point. He powered up immediately after that, calling his glove to his hand and turning into the Page of Pluto, Luxor. He was not concerned about how little outfit he actually had, not right now. That was a concern for another time.
"I fought just as hard as anyone else there, but I could do nothing about it! Those bastards came in and... and... destroyed my carnival, killed all those people. Those poor people... I would have protected them if I could, I did my best! And what about you? Why didn't you protect them? Why didn't the White Moon stop them?"
He couldn't blame them, they had all been caught by surprise, and had all done their best in turn, but it just had not been enough.

"I was... elsewhere in the carnival, at the time," she half-lied defensively. "I was doing my part." She crossed her arms, realizing this wasn't an enemy, but an ally. "Look, man, I'm sorry being all obnoxious and whatever," she started. It was a pretty weak apology, but she wasn't the best at apologizing for her own behavior. "I didn't know you were playing on our team. The enemy isn't us, its them. I lost friends in the attack here, so if you know anything at all, then please...I want to help."

Luxor scowled at her, his temper worked up. He did not want to play nice right now, but he supposed he would have to because she was on his team and they would do better by working with each other than with him railing against her.
Though she did not sound like she had done much in the defense of the Carnival, her lie falling flat on his ears. He grunted, moving to get himself a drink from a small bar he had against one of the walls.
"I don't know what they were doing. I don't know why they came or how they got in or how they got everything together. I know now that the reports I was getting from the Fun House, why it was closed and the progress on its repairs, were false. Someone was lying, using it as a place to... to... keep those monsters."
He did not know who, he had never seen Painite. He heard about her, through the events of the Carnival, and by the time the youma had been released he knew who she was. But it had been too late to stop anything at that point.
He was as in the dark as everyone else. It had been a sudden and terrible attack that he could do nothing about.

Super Sailor Aster was frustrated. She had hoped the man would have more answers, but it appeared he knew just as little as anyone else. She felt sorry for him. Defeated, she leaned against his desk and hopped onto it to take a seat, resting her palms behind her as to lean back slightly and get comfortable. "Is there anyway I can help?" she asked. "All I'm saying, man, is that we're not the police. We know things that they don't and can do things that they can't. If their investigation isn't coming to anything helpful, we should do our own investigation. Get justice." "Get revenge," she added.

Luxor looked at her, nodding his head.
"I want revenge. I want to make sure that those involved can never do anything like this again. I want them to suffer for what they've done, and I don't care how long it takes me to be able to do it. I won't let them get away with taking those lives, with hurting all those people. If it takes me my whole life, I will hunt them all down, and I will destroy them."
He looked deadly serious, even more so than his generally serious expression.
Before this event he had not had a goal. He had not understood what his calling was, what the purpose of even powering up into this strange new form had been. Why did he need this power? He was content to focus on his work, live his life privately.
Now, though, he saw what Chaos could do. And it needed to be stopped, permanently. Everyone that worked for them, everyone that had given themselves to its power. He didn't care. They were all evil, and they all needed to be stopped.
"If you can help me do that, I would be grateful."

"I'm in," she said with a nod. "The name's Super Sailor Aster, by the way. And uh..." She looked around for a moment to make sure that they were alone, then sensed the area to make sure there weren't any looming Chaos signatures about before powering down to just a normal girl - Haley Jones. "You showed me who you really are, it's only fair I give you the same treatment, man," she smiled. "Especially if we're going to be working together. It's Haley." She looked at his desk and grabbed a pen, scribbling her phone number on a loose piece of paper. "Number's on the table, you'll have to give me a call sometime," she said with a nod as she slipped out the door with a small over the shoulder wave. "Until next time."

Luxor nodded his head at her introductions, both of them, taking note of her names and looking at the paper as she wrote her name and number down. He took it and would file it carefully, as he did everything else, so it was easy to find when he needed it.
He'd list her as some sort of associate. Not that anyone ever looked at his books or records but him, but with this new 'business' he was in, he would have to be careful.
He did not want to risk anyone else, if they chose to help him. He would be their knight, since that was his job, at the end of the job. He would defend their honor and their safety, in exchange for any aid they gave him. Even if he was not exactly the strongest man out there. Not yet, anyway.
"Thank you, Haley," he said, powering down and seeing her on her way out. He watched her until she vanished from his sight, then returned to his living area to ponder things, and perhaps come up with some sort of a plan.
