Haley had just finished setting up her tent for her weekend camping retreat. She figured she needed a break from the stress of protesting to clear up the streets of Destiny City, and a nice retreat from emotions in the aftermath of Alex's death. Sure, he wasn't that close to her and he wasn't the first person that Haley knew to go missing in this city, but they had slept together and he did recently die while they were out together. Feeling the need to alleviate some stress, she searched through her backpack and grabbed her bag of weed, her pipe, and her lighter.
She filled up the pipe and left the tent - not wanting to fill up her tent with smoke - and lit up in the great outdoors. Her tent was set up not too far from the Camp Larkspur campgrounds, deliberately placed there so that her friends who were now counselors at camp could go meet up with her if they pleased. She had some other friends she was expecting to stop by from the city, as well.
The long-haired girl took a seat on a tree stump, smoking her pipe as she looked out at the lake. It was a truly beautiful sight that afternoon, and it was the perfect way to leave her troubles behind her.

Azzo sighed dressed in the ugly Khaki outfit again he was walking through the woods mainly he was making sure nothing was in the woods that shouldn't be. Including cats that might be eaten for a snack after hearing a few mentions of a cat in passing at the camp ground.
However, instead of stumbling onto a cat, he found a tent. Step up really almost too close to the Camp Larkspur grounds, and the girl apparently staying there was smoking something. His head tilted and he looked a little curious as to what she was doing here though the fact she was smoking made him frown.
"Hello Miss." He said with a slight nervous chuckle, "Sorry to bother you, but mind if I ask what you're doing?" He smiled after a second and hoped it was pleasant enough she wouldn't give him gruff. The fact he was actually a park ranger and some sort of authority, no matter how little, was probably slightly daunting on him just now and the fact someone was out here smoking... other than Zia.

Haley laughed as the boy spoke, and coughed up a bit of smoke as she did so, having just taken another hit. Did he really not know what she was doing? Was he unable to recognize the smell? She smiled at him, and snuck the pipe behind her back. He seemed to be some sort of authoritative figure, and even if he wasn't good enough at his job to know what she was up to, she thought it best to not rub it in his face.
"Just smoking," she grinned. Trying to weasel herself out of any trouble she may be in, she played the part of naïve and innocent and willing to help. "Is there a problem?"

He knew the smell wasn't like cigarettes that Zia smoked, granted he hadn't been around enough people to know what sort of thing she was smoking. He frowned softly though Azzo knew that he had passed the smell a few times on the streets of Destiny.
"Hmm... I see." He said with a slight frown glancing around to get the proximity of the camp verses were the tent sat. "There's a slight problem, yes." He answered after a second thinking she was probably a little too close to the camp itself.
"You see, you're awful close to Camp Larkspur, and unfortunately there's kids there for the next two weeks. Most of them are pretty young." He explained watching her, hoping to stay down wind of the smoke as much as possible. It's not that he really minded her smoking, after all he couldn't stop Zia so he didn't expect to completely stop a stranger but he had to at least ask, since it was his job. "Do you think it'd be possible for you not to smoke so close to the kids? Or maybe move your camp a little further away so they don't just wander up on you?"

Haley groaned. Of course, she saw his point and everything, but she had just finished setting up the tent and she was far too lazy to take it back down and set it up elsewhere. She had hoped that this would be far enough to not be near any campers. Besides, isn't that the counselors' jobs to make sure that the campers don't wander off into the woods?
"Fine," she groaned again, not at all trying to hide her displeasure. "I'll move it later, just let me finish smoking and I'll move. If I see any campers I'll tell them to scram and head back to camp. But really, these woods are public and any relocating I do is just a common courtesy. And its kind of the responsibility of the camp staff to make sure campers don't come over here. But hey, lets just give me s**t."
She grumbled under her breath. If the boy wasn't standing right there, she'd have taken another hit but she still found it best to not try to cross the line even if she had already done so.

Azzo watched as Haley seemed to turn grumpy. There was another frown, "Yes... well... you're also smoking, otherwise I probably wouldn't suggest you having to move." He pointed out with a pause, "Not that you'd be so careless, but if an ember was to get on to the ground it could start a fire and being so far away from actual designated camp grounds, the fire could get out of hand if there was one that might start somehow... unless you have a fire extinguisher?" He looked a little hopeful, granted she'd still have to promise not to smoke so close to Camp Larkspur.
There was a pause, "Yes it is the counselors job, but with as many kids as they have there's still the possibility there's a stray one that wanders off or one that kicks or hits a ball over this way and insists on going and getting it." He looked at her, "You know how kids are right?"
There was a another pause, "I know enough campsites that you could set up tent that's still near camp larkspur but the kids shouldn't be able to wander to them if you'd like me to help you?"

Haley's brows furrowed. Was he really going to bring up forest fires to her? Sure, she had brought an open flame to the woods but she was one to be very careful and watchful to about the environment. She didn't mean to, but she exploded. "Look, don't lecture me about forest fires, okay? If you want to lecture anyone about being ecologically friendly, lecturing me is preaching to the ******** choir. My carbon footprint is minimal. I take short showers to avoid water waste, use solely recyclable goods, avoid energy waste and goddamn I am careful when it comes to using a lighter in the woods. Very. Careful."
She exhaled deeply. She had to get that off her chest. Then, as if she didn't just shout in his face, she continued on. "I'll figure something out for a place to relocate," she said. She didn't really want to camp on an official campground - that would make the activities she planned on doing much more difficult to do without getting caught. "Just keep an eye on your campers in the meantime, k?"

Azzo backed up brows furrowing as the girl got really irritated at her, "I'm sorry miss, but it's something we have to remind everyone of." He said eventually with a small frown.
He watched as she continued and pulled out a map for her, "Heh, alright... would you like a map just in case you need one?" He offered it to her rubbing the back of his neck with a frown, "I'll make sure they keep an eye on them." He promised with a smile and giving a nod. "If you do need any help we're just up that way." He pointed towards the ranger cabin, it's roof was barely visible over the trees.

"Sure," she said, grabbing a copy of the map. She folded it up and slid it into her back pocket as she glanced over to where the cabin was. It seemed close enough in case she found herself in any danger, but otherwise she figured she would be rather avoidant of going anywhere near there. "Thanks, I'll check it out if I need anything."
She got anxious, really wanting to get back to her pipe and back to her camping trip plans. "Is there anything else or am I free?"

Azzo smiled as she took the map and slid it into her pocket, and gave a nod when she said she'd check it out if she needed anything. "Alright. Good to know."
He paused thinking, "No that should be it." He turned to leave but gave a pause, "Oh, I'm sorry I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Azzo." He added with a nod, he was going to leave but he wanted to at least give her a name to call him if she did need help. "In case, you know you ever need my help since I answer better to my name than 'Hey you with the khakis.'" He grinned at the attempt of a joke.

Haley smiled at Azzo's attempt for a joke and brought out one hand for a shake, still keeping one hand behind her back with a pipe. Even though they were getting along and being civil, she still found it best to hide the substance and avoid yet another issue to discuss. "I'm Haley," she said politely. "I promise, if I find myself in danger I'll just run towards your cabin screaming your name."
Hopefully, of course, she wouldn't find herself in any danger, but she didn't know if there were the same dangers in these woods as there in the city - what with all the disappearances and deaths and all. After all, the woods would be a much quieter location, more suitable for danger. But as far as she knew, the woods were safe.

He was glad she seemed to at least find the joke slightly funny. "Nice to meet you Haley." He chuckled, "Yes, hopefully you won't though, it'd be nice if everyone had a good camping experience out here."
He gave a small nod, the woods had to be safer than Destiny the way things were going. So far they'd been out here a few days with little to no accidents and no sighting of Negas as far as he could tell so things were looking brighter. "Screaming my name will be good though, it'll insure a quick rescue."
He gave a small nod, "I'll let you get back to what you were doing then. And if you want, or need, help moving your stuff later let me know too, okay? I don't mind playing pack mule on occasion either." He smiled with a nod and a wave. "See you around Haley." He paused, thinking. "Oh and if you'd do me a big favor and try not to get caught smoking, we'd appreciate it. It's some silly thing in the ranger guide book about 'observing park rules' and 'family friendly camping'." He made air quotes as he was walking off making sure she could hear him, "We can't do anything about you smoking if we don't see you doing it."

Haley grinned as she watched Azzo walk off. She took the pipe out from behind her back, lit up again and continued to smoke as she started to pack up the rest of her belongings. She wouldn't take down the tent and move just yet - she still wanted to enjoy what she had just packed - but would follow Azzo's requests and move elsewhere so that kids don't wander by. However, moving deeper into the woods also meant moving further away from anyone who can help her if anything went wrong in the night...
