Name: Nyasa Malawi Freeman (Nyasa is named after Lake Nyasa/Malawi [x], near which her family came from).

Nicknames: Silent Night (Wrestling name)

Age: 22 23

Birthday: February 17

Sign: Aquarius

Gemstone: Amethyst

Bloodtype:

Occupation: Intermediate EMT Member of the Dark Disciples gang.

Fav. Food: Fried food, Pickles, French Fries

Hated Food: Candy (Chocolate not included), Jello, Hohshead Cheese. She also doesn't like food with a head and/or eye(s), like this.

School: n/a

Hobbies:

Studying/Practicing Medicine = As a former EMT, Nyasa already has a better then average understanding of first aid. Although she has quit her job, her dedication to the Negaverse and desire to be useful has resulted in Nyasa embarking on a self-education of medicine. When possible, she spends at least a couple of hours per night pouring over textbooks and viewing instructional videos.

The Word on the Street = There are a lot of opportunities out there for those that know how to find them or make them, and Nyasa does both. She seeks out the people who can be paid to not ask questions. She finds the less reputable pawn shops where stolen goods can be sold. She can find landlords and employers willing to turn a blind eye to her comrades' youth.

Clubbing = When Nyasa isn't patrolling, studying, or gathering information, this is the one leisure activity that she still engages in. Dancing is a form of exercise, an excuse she uses to justify enjoying it. Of course, there's really no way to justify her alcohol consumption and other party-related indulgences, a fact she tries not to dwell on.

Virtues:

Dedicated = Nyasa takes her role as a Negaverse officer very seriously; very seriously. She wants to be known as a loyal, useful, and efficient soldier. Nyasa’s civilian life and leisure time play second fiddle to her Negaverse duties. She studies continuously, improving her medical knowledge to provide better aid to her comrades. She is rarely idle on patrol, exercising or working on human contacts while waiting for an opportune time to collect energy or attack Senshi. She has quit her day job so she can dedicate more of her time to the Negaverse.

Practical = All of the carpet in Nyasa’s apartment is covered in plastic carpet protector wrap and her living room is home to a vinyl reclining beach chair. Why? Practicality. Due to her service in the Negaverse and her role as a Negaverse medic, blood is a common sight in her apartment. Cleaning and/or explaining blood stains is a hassle, so Nyasa sought to avoid the problem all together by covering her carpet and obtaining a cheap piece of washable furniture. It’s not pretty, but it works, and that’s all she cares about.

This practicality extends to other parts of her life as well. She doesn't believe in doing things that don't serve a purpose, like whining; whining is never useful. She can keep secrets with her to the grave, but only if she sees a point in doing so. She has no qualms with blurring moral lines - stealing, killing - if it'll give her an advantage or if it serves the greater good.

Calm = Nyasa seems like a cool cat. It's hard to get her ruffled. When everyone else is angry or panicking, Nyasa is able to keep a level head. She doesn't fall apart under pressure and can think on her feet. This was a great asset when she was an EMT. It is also useful in her more recent gang dealings, hiding potential weaknesses from those that would exploit them while letting her seem confident and in control of the situation. She still hasn't gotten over the heebie-jeebies that dead, preserved things - trophy animal heads, organs in jars - give her though. As of late, Nyasa has also begun to find regular civilians to be trying.

Flaws:

Disconnected = Nyasa doesn't really form close connections to people. She has trouble truly seeing people as people, so instead of caring about their personalities, feelings, or virtues, her is instead interested in people's usefulness and competence. For example, she might feel a twinge over the fact that her comrade's parents died, but after what she considers a reasonable period of time - reasonable to her most likely being very short to others - she expects them to be back in action and on top of their game.

During her civilian interactions Nyasa feigns interest in others, but as she spends more and more time surrounding herself in her Negaverse duties, her mask is slipping. As a soldier of the Negaverse, she considers herself apart from mere civilians, seeing them as something akin to sheep. When forced to interact with them, her polite nods and half-smiles are often coupled with blank or cold eyes, which can understandably turn people off. Also, Nyasa's calmness and patience with civilians is begining to shorten. After all, why should she waste so much time and energy on sheep? If a civilian manages to irritates her - and they can do so far more easily then a powered character - she's more prone to snapping at them or draining their energy.

Deceptive = No, Nyasa doesn't care about your love drama or school trouble. She'll say she does, listen, and nod in all the right places, but she doesn't really care. Maybe you'll be grateful she listened; Nyasa finds grateful people useful. If you're her superior, maybe it'll earn her brownie points, which she understands the value of. Nyasa has no qualms faking emotion and sincerity if she feels it'd be useful, and she also has no qualms with outright lying. She has long since developed an excellent poker face and uses it frequently. That's not to say that her bluff is never called though, and for some strange reason people tend to be less then thrilled when they realize they've been played.

Why So Serious? = Nyasa doesn't have much in the way of a sense of humor. She occasionally indulges in sarcasm and banter, but she has no appreciation for things like slapstick or knock-knock jokes. As a result, she sometimes has trouble telling when someone is joking and humor is often lost on her. Start talking about two Jews and a bar and you'll just get a blank look from her.

Also, there are certain things that Nyasa deems frivilous and silly, and thus doesn't do. This includes things like joy-riding, window shopping, playing board games and video games, and more. Her being all serious and looming in a corner is kinda awkward at best, so it's best to skip sending her a party invitation.

Physical Description

Eyes: Like these - dark pupil, light iris, dark outer ring - but with the light color being a gray-green - like this cat's eye - and dark blue-green for the ring. These eyes may make her look a bit odd/creepy/crazy, but that'd be a good thing!

Hair: Black hair pulled back into a bun that has two braided loops hanging from it. [x]

Face: Dark skin ("African"), slightly large lips. Usually found wearing small gold hoop earrings and candy-flavored lipgloss.

Build: Nyasa lives an active life and it shows. She's 5'7" and leanly muscled with strong shoulders and a small chest. The only real curves she has are her hips, and she's grateful for those because she doesn't want to look completely like a guy.

Fashion: Her work uniform is an EMT outfit: example 1, example 2. Her civilian clothes are street style, urban, and sometimes urban chic. She likes sneakers, denim, hoodies, cargo pants, lowrise pants, tight shirts, metallics, and a splash of bright color. She does not like things that restrict her movement, like high heels or tight pants.

The Lieutenent

Negaverse Alias: Mica (Most flexible mineral according to this site)

Challenge: I will eliminate the enemy.

General/Superior: -

Underlings/Team: Sailor Euclase

Uniform: Her uniform is basically the black assassin-ess suit/cat suit: [x]

Her Lieutenant uniform is that of a romanticized, Marvel-esque female assassin: sleek, sexy, kick-a**. As she gains ranks, it'll become a grittier, more down-and-dirty uniform.

Weapon Evolution: Her weapon would able to "freeze" to a surface as long as she is gripping it.

Lieutenant = Cane, evolved to pimp cane with fusion of Amber Crystal. Black body with silver handle.

Captain = Spear with Amber Crystal spear-tip.

General = Black-bodied pike. Top should look like Saruman's staff, but with the points/fins being tall silver blades and the white orb being replaced with the Amber Crystal.

Trophies

Amber Crystal: Mica's Amber Crystal enables her cane to emit a shield that weakens Senshi magic attacks.

"Territories"

Knocktown = Mica calls it Knocktown, but it has many names. Literally on the wrong side of the railroad tracks, it is arguably Destiny City's worst neighborhood. Populated mainly by the poor and the minorities, it has a high crime rate and an abundance of unsavory characters.

Heritage Park = The smaller, poorer counterpart to Destiny City's ever-popular Central Park. Located in Knocktown, it is a rundown and dangerous park. People have been killing each other here long before the outbreak of costume-wearing hoodlums.

King Boulevard = A strip of Destiny City that's in a downward spiral. Those that can afford it are moving out while crime is moving in. However, it's still not too bad, and various religious groups and charities are frequently seen in the area, trying to assist "the less fortunate." Lt. Mica also happens to live in this area.

Character Songs:

Youth of the Nation
...

Bring Me To Life

How can you see into my eyes
like open doors
Leading you down into my core
where I've become so numb
Without a soul
My spirit's sleeping somewhere cold...

Destiny City Halloween Masque
876 words
Link

Nyasa did not want to go to the ball. She had no desire to watch people make tedious small talk and while trying to flaunt their money. She didn’t care to watch people slowly poison their livers. Sadly, Nyasa’s wishes hadn’t been noted. She was told that when she had agreed to work the Halloween events, that had included the ball.

Oh, and that apparently she had to blend in and wear a costume.

Nyasa was pretty sure the she hadn’t been told anything about costumes when she agreed to this gig. Thankfully she had some spare cash and a neighbor that had been eager to get a new doll to dress up. If the costume was a tad skimpier then her employers had had in mind, that was hardly her fault. In fact, Nyasa could actually say that she was somewhat fond of her costume. She had always thought that Queen Akasha was an interesting character.

Nyasa hadn’t had the money to make anything even remotely resembling Akasha’s elaborate headpieces, but her neighbor had helpfully pointed her to an acquaintance that made jewelry and masks. The gold mask with crimson jewels went well enough with her costume, so Nyasa had snagged it.

As she slowly circled the dance floor, she would occasionally glance at her frowning supervisor. Whenever she knew she had his eye, she made sure to walk with a definite slinky sway to her hips. That would always make his frown increase, and since that was the only entertainment Nyasa had, she kept at it as she meandered over to the fancy cake to check it out in greater detail.

~*~

The ball had descended into pandemonium. People began fleeing the ballroom, trampling one another in their panic. As Nyasa tried to slip away her boss had grabbed her, demanding he help her grab the people that had fallen in the middle of the stampede. She did her work as quickly as possible, and as soon as he turned his back on her she got away, dark Egyptian garb melting into a sleek black bodysuit.

Slipping back into the ballroom, Mica didn’t bother to suppress a soft sigh as she looked around the room. It was going to be a long night.

She had luckily arrived in time to see the sought-after crystal fly into a coffin. She approached the coffin at a rapid click, swerving in time to barely miss a ridiculously frilly Senshi spout vomit. Her speed increased, and when she felt she was in reasonable range of the coffin, she planted her cane and pivoted, one powerful leg lashing out at the wooden box.

Sadly, the combination of ice, sweat, and vomit on the floor made it difficult for her cane to get a grip, so while her leg might hit the coffin - or anyone unfortunate enough to come between her leg and the coffin - she was also destined to nearly faceplant on the floor.

~*~

From her position on the floor, Mica could hear someone ignorantly trying to break up the fighting. Her eyebrow arched slightly when, from her continued vantage point on the floor, she noticed that the ignorant person was a civilian. It would be tough with all the bothersome Senshi about, but he represented one of the easiest pickings to be had. Mica had no qualms about taking the easy route as long as it produced results.

As she scrambled to her feet, she took note of another interesting sight. It looked like a fellow Nega was squaring off against two important-looking goody two shoes. Decisions, decisions…

Mica decided to leave the foolish civilian be. Being responsible or whatever was vaguely annoying at times, but there were bigger fish to fry then a wannabe-cop. Besides, she figured that if it was worth the hassle then surely some other Nega would think of it.

Instead Mica slowly made her way towards the bunny-brandishing Nega. She didn’t go to her side, no, she stayed out of her way, just in her peripheral vision. Mica was close enough to jump in if needed, but wasn’t about to stick out her neck yet, not if there was a chance of her help not being needed or wanted. Besides, it was easier for her to keep an eye on the chaos from her vantage point.

~*~

Between the cake coming to life and the attacks aimed and Queen Beryl, the ballroom descended into a new level of chaos. Mica had joined those Negaverse agents defending the Queen, and effort that had earned her a laceration on her cheek and a bruised chest.

Then, just as quickly as it began, the chaos started to die down. The crystal was gone, claimed at last by the Negaverse. Injured Senshi and Negaverse agents alike were fleeing the building to lick their various wounds. And that, that was why it was going to be a long night.

Mica slipped out of the building as soon as the Queen vanished. Her bodysuit melted away, soon replaced with the exotic garb of the vampire queen Akasha. She strode to the perimeter of the property where a small fleet of emergency responders were flurrying about, insinuating herself into their harried midst seamlessly.

“ Nyasa, bring me a c-collar, stat!”

Back to work.

Silent Contemplation
516 words
Link

The apartment was unremarkable. The plain walls and mis-matched furniture didn’t offer much insight into its occupant’s personality, except perhaps thriftiness. As if to demonstrate this, the only light illuminating the apartment was that of the muted TV which displayed its pictures for an absent audience. The apartment’s sole occupant had moved to large window that overlooked King Boulevard, watching the passing cars without enthusiasm; her mind was elsewhere.

Today she had done something needlessly reckless, something that had put her life at risk. It was done in duty to a leader, to a Queen, and yet she had not done it without hesitation. Not too long ago, her life was priceless. She cared only for herself, loved only herself, and served only herself. To willingly risk her life in such a way for another was incomprehensible. At least, it had been.

She still didn’t care about anyone else. They had their uses, and they had starseeds, but otherwise she wouldn’t even blink at the death of another. No one got that close to her, could make her care enough. No one. Yet, here was someone she had put her life on the line for, someone that had power over her and could bend her to her will. Had such a possibility been mentioned to her before, she might have laughed. Things were changing though; she was changing.

This woman, this Queen- she had given her things she longed for. She gave her strength, power, and the ability to make a difference. Most importantly, she had given her feelings. The feel of a starseed in her hand was… invigorating. Nothing could compare. The rush caused by the thump of a bass, the adrenaline of being a first responder; nothing. It made her feel alive in a way she hadn’t felt in a long time.

Of course, everything had its price. Feeling that jolt of power from a starseed usually required a payment in pain. Punching, kicking, biting, scratching; all things she’d felt before. Her body had adjusted quickly, registering the pain as a signal for future starseeds, as a prelude to pleasure. The pain hurt, stung, but was bittersweet, a reminder of what was to come. Fights were dances, dances were foreplay, and the starseed was the final goal.

Now came the puzzle, the unexpected twist. In risking her life, she had gained a new one. She was now Silent Night, the wrestler famous for defeating Don Diablos. The TV had prattled on about it all night, resulting in its muting. She had no need to hear the stories and speculations about an event she had witnessed first hand. Besides, their reports were incomplete. They did not know the importance of the jewel she now kept in her possession. They didn’t understand her actions and what they signified: change. She was still numb, cold even, but the Negaverse had found ways to light the occasional fire within her: fighting, pain, and starseeds. It was an addiction, forcing her to change to support her new habit, but it was oh so worth it.

You’re sick of feeling numb
You’re not the only one
I’ll take you by the hand
and I’ll show you a world that you can understand

Christmas Eve at the Town Square
724 words
Link

Lieutenant Mica was also late to arrive at the scene. Having never obtained a snow globe, she wasn’t aware of the snow princess’s impending arrival. She had, however, noticed the change in weather, as well as the concentration of Senshi and Negaverse power signatures in the direction of the Town Square. Upon arrival, she spied the problem immediately: a freaky looking icicle woman and an ice cube throne. Mica disapproved; the only person that had the right to sit on a throne was Queen Beryl. She wasn’t about to try getting close enough to the alien to hit her, so throwing things at her would have to suffice. Picking up a glass bottle, she lobbed it at the fake princess.

~*~

Mica observed more Negaversers arriving late, though she only recognized them in a vague way. She had seen many of them at the last meeting, but she didn’t actually know most of them, much less their names. Only Zinkenite, the other crystal holder, was somewhat familiar to her.

Even though the Senshi were working with them – and wasn’t that a strange sight – and even civilians were chipping in – did that man have a dog with him? – their combined attacks didn’t seem to be doing much good. The only progress she could see was a literal chip on the frozen woman’s face. She wasn’t about to stop though; no snowwoman was going to claim her Queen’s throne.

~*~

Mica saw and heard a loud-mouthed Negaverser in a short skirt trying to draw the invader’s attention. She couldn’t tell why, but since it was the same Lieutenant that had been shouting about plans and teams before, she figured that some sort of coordinated attack was finally taking place. Making her way over, Mica grabbed icicles along her way and threw them at the throne.

~*~

When the false Queen began her final desperate counter attack, Mica was forced to close her eyes and stand her ground. She was tempted to use her crystal’s power, but she had a suspicion that it would be no good against this particular alien. Instead she began slowly trudging against the wind and ice, try to get closer to the crumbling throne. Her cane was fairly useful in this instance, for she was able to dig it into the deep snow to keep from being blown back.

~*~

Through the snow, Mica had noticed a number of strange things. For one, some guy had managed to find a horse. For another, General Linarite was standing around doing nothing. And finally, there was another crystal to be had! Sure, she had one already, but she wanted another, wanted the power, and wanted to please the Queen. She’d put her cane through the b***h’s face to get it, given half a chance.

~*~

As the temporary truce began to melt down in the presence of the crystal, Mica debated the merit of using the Amber crystal’s power. It was an admittedly brief debate. She was doubtful that the shield would protect anyone but herself, plus using it would reveal her as a crystal holder to the hordes of Senshi presence; not a good idea. Granted, her new pimp cane was not exactly inconspicuous, but she wasn’t going to push it.

Keeping her hand strategically placed to hide the large crystal on top, Mica whacked at every hapless civilian and bothersome Senshi that got in her way as she edged closer to Kaguya. If she couldn’t have the crystal, then any Negaverser would suffice, so long as a damn Senshi didn’t get their hands on it.

Lips curling in disgust, Mica decided it would be wise to make her exit while the Senshi squabbled over the crystal. It didn’t look like she’d be able to get her hands on it, and once the crystal was firmly in someone’s possession… well, the Senshi would probably notice that they outnumbered the present Negaverse agents.

As Mica jogged away from the dogpile on the crystal, Mica noticed a vaguely familiar face, and one that had seen better days. The loud-mouthed Lieutenant was beaten all to hell. One of the main reason Mica had been recruited was for her skills as a medic, something the Queen had made quite clear. She wouldn’t leave such an injured teammate behind.

“ Can you walk?” She asked, eyeing Chromite as she came to stand beside her.
