The meeting had ended. Beryl had sent all the officers of the Negaverse off on their separate ways, leaving the vast throne room empty and silent once again. Or, that is, except for a select few people: among them the newly-introduced officers who were apparently now expected to be treated and respected as leaders, two of which had stalked off to attend to whatever work they had to do now that they had arrived and had finished up with their formalities.
General-Queen Laurelite remained, pacing placidly across the floor, until she was an arm's length away from the one Lieutenant and the one Captain who'd been left for her to attend to.
"Captain Zinkenite... Lieutenant Mica." Their names were spoken in a personable, careful tone, as if she was testing how they felt on her lips. "The Queen told me of the victories you claimed for our cause, and for that I congratulate you. And certainly, they will help us in more victories to come."

He bent at the waist in a slight bow, not trusting anyone whom was tough enough to reach the illustrious rank of General Queen quite enough to take his eyes from them, but respectful all the same. Depending whom you asked, it might have been a greater sign of respect that he had a healthy enough fear to keep his eyes on them.
"Madam..." he replied in thanks to her praise, though previous experience led him to suspect that it could be as quickly retracted. "Would it be too bold to ask, if you might know how we might put them to greater use? I fear I have not yet determined how to unlock the ... additional powers that our great Queen had mentioned." He rose slowly from his bow as he spoke, cautious of her, and to some lesser degree of the Bold Lieutenant who stood beside him.

Mica was, as usual, bland in her actions. She gave the expected bow, her eyes flicking down briefly before she returned to an attentive posture. There were not many things Mica could claim to genuinely respect, power and competence being two of the few; as a General-Queen, Laurelite was both.
“ I also admit a lack of success.”
Mica’s lips thinned in annoyance. She had wanted to join the Negaverse, wanted it like she had wanted little before, and was determined to be successful. Whatever pride she may have felt in securing the crystal had quickly been replaced with frustration at her inability to command it. That a crystal should be a source of failure was unacceptable, regardless of what that crystal was. The only vaguely comforting thought was that Zinkenite, a Captain, had had no more success then she.

Wordlessly, Laurelite gestured for the two of them to stand again not three seconds after they had descended to the ground, and she backed up a couple of quiet steps so they were both in her line of vision. "I can't speak to you properly if I can't make eye contact with you," she said, "now, can I?" Then she waited, quietly, for them to get back up before continuing. She appeared to listen carefully to what little words they had to offer before formulating a response of her own.
"I do not fault you for that," she gently replied, "it is understandable that you would have made little progress, as there is little resource available on the subject. Our very Queen has never beheld a Crystal, or even a small piece like the ones you possess, the way you do now. It's foreign territory." Laurelite offered a smile, gentle and disarming. "But I am here to help you explore. Is there anything you have found out about them, before we continue?"

Zinkenite pondered for a long moment considering his crystal. "I had a meeting with the queen in regards to it, she said that it had... 'attuned' itself to me, 'bonded' if you will. It, diminished in intensity when the Queen took it from me. In fact it seemed to stop glowing almost entirely, which is I believe why she said it had...bonded, with me."
He said the word very carefully as though the word itself were almost curious and as offensive as displaying ones underwear in public.

“ Nothing.”
Mica’s handful of attempts to make the Amber crystal do something had fallen flat. She had expected to be granted enormous strength, like Don Diablos, so it was a bit of a disappointment when she found that she had just as much trouble lifting fat people onto stretchers as she had before.
The idea of the crystal being bound to her was troubling. As nice as it was to know that the crystal wouldn’t work properly in the wrong hands – say, an extraordinarily lucky Senshi – Mica didn’t like the idea that it wouldn’t work for the Queen. If it was bound to her and would work only for her, that was all the more reason to learn how to use it, and use it well.

"How interesting," Laurelite mused, eyes alight with mild curiosity at Zinkenite's expression. Turning her gaze to look at Mica, she asked, "I'll assume we have a similar case in your Crystal shard as well?" The implications of it were obvious, but with a slow, pondering nod she went on to explain them anyway. "Bonded is definitely the right word for that... you are the only ones your respective shards will obey."
She turned on her feet with a small beckoning motion and began walking over the mirrored floor, presumably leading them somewhere. "However... instead of feeling shame or remorse over that fact, you should consider yourself fortunate that you can serve the Negaverse in such a way that your comrades cannot. I have high expectations for you both." After a few more moments they'd found an empty, cozy room that they shuffled themselves into.
With no pedestals or raised floors for her to stand on, it was apparent that Laurelite wasn't imposingly tall like Beryl or even Apatite was. Though she still had least an inch or two on Zinkenite, it was still sort of odd to be able to make eye contact with her without creating neck strain, or even by having to look down a bit. She wore a calm little smile and gently outstretched a hand, saying, "Have you learned to summon them, however? May I see them?"

Summon? Well... he'd kept it close to him, not trusting it to be away from him just yet. If he COULD summon it though, oh the world of possibilities that opened. That was at least as good as unwinding the secrets it still clutching in its glinting crimson depths. He Reached into his pocket and fingered through the contents to pull out the crimson stone and hold it out very carefully in his palm to be seen. "I'm afraid I hadn't realized that they could be, I had kept it with me for safety... I'm ashamed to say it never crossed my mind to summon it."
Already he dropped his head in some frustration, not even a handful of minutes into the meeting with the General Queen and he was sure he had fallen more than 'short' of her expectations. But he had little idea how to amend that without knowing how to control the stone.
He hesitated, not quite daring to deposit the stone into her outstretched hand without confirmation.

She shook her head silently; the thought had not even crossed her mind. Mica had thought it safer to keep the crystal in her sight at all times. In civilian form she'd been keeping it in her pocket in an empty film container. It wasn't the best idea though, especially when she transformed. Her uniform had no pockets, which meant she had to keep it in her boot; never again would she complain about rocks in her shoes.
She knelt briefly, slipping her fingers into her boot to fish out the crystal from where it had lodged beneath her ankle. When she stood, she turned her hand up, Amber Crystal resting in her palm. Learning how to summon the crystal would be most useful, and her feet would certainly be thankful.

"It's probably not a very good idea to keep them out at all times like that..." Laurelite mused, making little hmm-ing noises from the back of her throat. "They have a very strong energy signature... you've basically been walking targets this whole time. You're lucky that nobody's tracked you down and killed you for them yet." She gave a small, bemused tilt of the head, as if she were talking about them being unprepared for the weather instead of something more serious, before continuing.
"Think of the Crystal having the same connection to you your weapon does, in the sense you can summon and dismiss it at will -- in fact, it might be easier to tap into it if it were fused to your weapon, that way you have something to channel its energy through that's familiar to you. That should be easy to do, I think... just try nudging it on there with a little bit of your energy and well see if that works."

Zink made a small hmm of his own disapproving at the idea of having so exposed himself. How could he not have noticed such a thing, careless... really careless of him. Still... combining sling shot and crystal... if it worked should solve much of his trouble right? The idea of manipulating his energy was strange to him but he summoned the metal sling shot and pressed it carefully against the handle. He took a deep breath and tried to concentrate on what she had described.

An unfortunate oversight, and one Mica did not plan to repeat. As such, she was quick to follow the General-Queen's suggestion. Holding the crystal against the head of her cane, she focused on feeling the energy, pushing to combine the two. It took more energy then she normally had to exert, but finally she felt something different, and before her eyes the two began to merge...
... leaving Mica with a pimp cane. Really, that was the best way to describe it. The previously sleek, unadorned silver handle now sported an eye-catching amber crystal. Living as close to Knocktown as she did, Mica had seen a pimp cane or two and she could attest to the fact that her's now closely resembled one. Mica didn't comment on the matter, but her arched eyebrow indicated that she had certainly noted her cane's changed appearance.

Laurelite watched silently as the two officers tried their best to follow her orders, a hand idly reaching up to toy with her own hair for a moment before returning behind her back. She could feel it, seemingly, as well as see it when first Zinkenite's, and then Mica's endeavors both met with success, their Crystals seamlessly clicking into place.
"Very good... you should have no trouble channeling their power now. All that's left is to figure out how to invoke it."
Her eyes went half-lidded as she continued her explanation, as if recalling a mental image the other two couldn't see. "In the past, when Queen Serenity used the Silver Crystal, she called its name with conviction and determination in order to perform the feats she did with it. I think you'll have to do something similar, with the names of your fragments..." Laurelite's gaze dipped downward for a moment, looking first at one Crystal, then the other, than speaking again. "Zinkenite, try holding up yours and saying, 'Crimson Crystal Power!' Hopefully, the ability it possesses will come to you. Mica, you do the same, except your color would be Amber."

He wanted so badly to make a snarkey comment about the potential method of invoking the crystal, so VERY badly. But it didn't seem like it was in good form to be sarcastic to the General Queen no mater how even tempered she seemed to be. He bit his tongue and nodded in response though there was clear skepticism in his eyes, or at the very least some distaste at having to say -anything- to make it work. Count on exposure to senshi to over complicate what should honestly have been a simple affair. He did have a flicker of interest though that she seemed to be personally familiar with the old Queen. "Crimson Crystal Power..." He repeated, though perhaps with somewhat less enthusiasm than the General Queen had demonstrated. Perhaps worse than having to say the phrase, was realizing that it -worked-, he knew, like some strange instinct that he had to continue. "Transform me into..." a fraction's pause as he glanced between the General Queen and the Lieutenant. "General Queen Laurelite". He wasn't sure that the title was necessary, but given her immediate presence it seemed to be the side of discretion to give her the proper honorific.

The idea of using shouting silly phrases like a Senshi bothered Mica, but she supposed that if it got the desired results then she had no room to complain. She watched as Zinkenite attempted to invoke his crystal’s power, eyebrow staying firmly lodged up as a phony General-Queen appeared before her eyes. Interesting. Interesting and useful; Mica could think of many uses for such an ability.
“ Amber Crystal Power.” She said firmly, watching as a faint, amber-hued bubble appeared around her.
“ A shield.” She said, eyeing it.
Not what she had expected after seeing the Crimson Crystal’s power, but still useful.
