Simon Ferris
I'm not good at talking about myself, but...

Name: Simon Ferris

Nicknames: "Ferriswheel," "Hula-Hoop," "Twinkletoes" -- none of which he honestly appreciates being called

Age: 17 18

Birthday: May 16th

Sign: Taurus

Gemstone: Emerald

Blood Type: B-

Fav. Food: Apples, Thai food

Hated Food: Oatmeal, meatloaf... basically anything with a loamy vomit texture.

School: Sovereign Heights

Hobbies:
Folding Paper - Idle hands plus scrap paper equals a menagerie of origami critters littering Simon's desk. This is another thing he does because the mechanics of it are something he finds to be relaxing, but he's also not too shabby at it. He ends up making a lot of boats most of the time -- he's actually really interested in making model ships, but has yet to really pursue said interest.

Jigsaw Puzzles - Normal Hillworth boys hide dirty magazines underneath their mattress. Simon keeps a few jigsaw puzzles under there. It is the one place his peers won't find and wreck them, because it stopped being worth rummaging through once it was discovered he did not use it for a secret porn stash.

Routines - Simon enjoys having little daily schedules with little bulleted lists of what needs to be done and when; having some visible structure in his life helps keep him grounded, and organizing his day himself allows him to have some sense of self-assurance. He's occasionally a silent background planner for a number of small events and activities that take place at his school, has a daily planner he keeps in good shape, and has made a fair amount of contributions organizing the chore list for his dorm hall.

Backstage Theatrics - The stage is probably one of the last places one would expect to find an individual like Simon Ferris; on the other hand, it's much easier to imagine that he'd feel perfectly at home behind it. Simon is a backstage techie for Hillworth's drama department, and by extension part of its mostly unheard-of but still extant A/V group. He's not an actor of singer by any means or stretch of the imagination: his interests lie in creating the environment surrounding actors or singers; lighting, props, opening and closing curtains, stammery linefeeding. The closest he'll ever get to a spotlight is because he's operating it, but that's perfectly fine with him.

Virtues:
Gentle - It is easy to forget that Simon is remarkably tall for his age due to the way he carries himself not quite filling out his size. Being afraid of him can be sort of difficult: he's softspoken, doesn't make sudden moves, is considerate of others' personal space and feelings with his actions and words. When his nervousness isn't putting a wall of vigilance around him he's approachable if not comforting, and has a good sense of providing either space or reassurance where appropriate.

Careful - Slow and steady wins the race, and that's how Simon typically likes to handle his life: slowly and steadily. He has a tendency to not want to go through with a major decision or a big plan unless he is 500% sure that it's okay and nothing is going to explode in the process, and this gives him a good sense of priority and time management when he's allowed to be left to his own devices and figure out how he wants to handle his day. This also means that if it's him operating independently, he's not going to go do something ridiculously recklessly dangerous, and if he's allowed to take the platform discussing such things -- well, he'll stutter terribly, but he might also have some ideas.

Deliberate - As said above, Simon is not a spontaneous person by any means: he takes much care in his planning and acting, and has a high capacity to break a big picture down into smaller, simple steps in order to better understand it. This is not only good for figuring out problems and puzzles and teaching himself a few skills here and there, but also useful for explaining things to others as well. He can methodically give information in palatable bite-sized pieces, and makes impressive outlines for things like group presentations even if he's not always so keen on the "presentation" portion of a project.

Accommodating - Simon is fairly forgiving, pretty generous, isn't bothered by little things that would get to other people. He doesn't mind going out of his way to do little favors or help out with a project, and isn't the type to think less highly of someone based on personal preferences or lifestyle choices. He won't hold it against you if you bring back a borrowed pencil sharpened down to the metal bit and all chewed up. Generally speaking, he's pretty immaterialistic and doesn't make quick judgments based on looks or personal quirks, which adds up to him being a considerate and kind person.

Flaws:
Servile - Most everyone has some sort of goal in life, some motivation that gets them through their day, whether it be excitement, a sense of accomplishment or something else. For Simon, this is personal validation. He spends a large proportion of energy worrying about the Simon Ferris Approval Rating among his friends and acquaintances, and tends towards being submissive to others in an attempt to keep it up. He can land himself in bad situations because of this, he can be made to do things he knows are morally wrong if it means you'll keep liking him; being rejected by people he knows and associates with is much more scary than being rejected by a stranger. Conversely, he will attach himself to people who so much as feed him a crumb of kindness in the hopes that they'll feed him more.

Skittish - The world is a big scary place, and some days -- well, most days -- Simon just wants to hide from it. He scares very easily, one of those types who can just never get desensitized to you popping a paper bag behind his head. When out of the safe-zones created by friends and familiar comfortable places, he gets fidgety and generally pensive, and borderline impossible to reassure that the restaurant isn't going to explode if he pulls out his chair too loud. This can make him a bit difficult to handle sometimes because it can create a sense that you have to walk on eggshells around him lest you fragile his poor sensitive composure; dragging him outside without him wearing a sad look of I Don't Really Want to Be Here is occasionally a trial worthy of the gods.

Guilt Complex - Simon is a notoriously chronic overapologetic, most people who have known him for more than five seconds are familiar with the barrage of sorries he will give you if he so much as blinks too fast. While it's good to know that he does genuinely feel bad about making a mess or causing a problem, dealing with most of his messes and problems stop short at the "feeling bad" phase. He has the problem of assuming that truly regretting his actions is enough to handwave any collateral damage he caused -- and anyway, it's not like he'll do much to help if he tried, just look at all the trouble he's caused already. It's better if he lets someone else handle it. Someone who won't screw up. Simon cannot get himself over his perception that he is a terrible, horrible person who leaves nothing but destruction in his wake, and so he ends up inadvertently pushing his problems on other people because he doesn't believe he can solve them himself.

Vigilant - Simon can be a hard shell to pry open because of his near-constant anxiety and feelings of inferiority, and this is compounded even further by his general wariness around other people. His mental processes come equipped with a background expectation that people are going to be mean to him -- he's somewhat aware that he can be easy to pick on, and has an irrational fear that everyone is going to take advantage of this. He's pretty sure he isn't very likable, really, and it can take a frustrating bit of effort to get him to genuinely trust you and believe that you really do like having him around.

Physical Description:

Hair: Very dark brown. It parts over his left eye to create a swoosh of the bangs that covers up his right eyebrow, and it ends in a scruffy mess a few inches down the back of his neck.

Eyes: Green, sad puppy.

Face: Has a bit of a long face (olol) with generally soft features, small pointy nose. His features are normally drawn into apologetic expressions or looks of general uncertainty.

Body: Around 6'2" in height, pretty gangly. His skin tone is fairly dark / very tan, whichever way you want to put it.

Fashion: As far as accessorizing goes, he wears a pair of banged-up looking glasses at all times. It's also not uncommon to see him sporting bruises, bandages, or the occasional ice pack, thanks to his clumsiness getting him into a fair share of messes every week. When not in his uniform he's wearing something from his collection of weathered and faded hand-me-downs, more often than not in neutral or earth tones.

Atlas Star Power, Make-Up?
In the name of Atlas... please don't hurt me!

Senshi: Super Sailor Atlas, Senshi of Gravity

Challenge: What goes up, must come down... I'm Sailor Atlas, and you're about to be grounded!

Attack #0 : Atlas Sad Puppy Eyes - [PASSIVE]
For the duration of any encounter or battle, Sailor Atlas can use this ability to look guileless and pathetic. This does absolutely nothing for him.

Attack #1 : Falling Force Snare!
Creates a sudden increase of gravitational pull in a space with a radius of roughly two meters, and keeps it there for 10~20 seconds. People caught in the field of effect may feel a sensation akin to falling several feet to the ground and have a bit of trouble reorienting themselves depending on their individual strength. This affects both friends and foes, as well as anything else caught in the field, e.g. objects and magical projectiles.

Attack #1a : Crushing Force, Gravitation!
At the Super level, Atlas's gravity well no longer pulls downward, but laterally as well. Those caught within the attack radius or reasonably close to the edge of the field (roughly a foot or so) find themselves being pulled towards its epicenter, with the force of gravity increasing from the edge inward: this feels like wearing a suit of armor with a souped-up junkyard electromagnet lying nearby.

Think of it as a miniature black hole set on the ground sans the messy business of getting crushed into a singularity, and it isn't picky about what it grabs -- it affects nearby objects, magical projectiles and so on as well as friends and foes alike. The attack now has a 2.5-meter radius and lasts for about 25 seconds.

Attack #2 : Cosmic Force Redirection!
Sailor Atlas is going to have to get a whole lot stronger before he can use this attack!

Partners in Crime
At least I know I'm not alone...

Samson MacFern - One of Simon's two dorm mates. A ginger kid with hair reminiscent of a horned owl, he's impulsive, overtalkative and has every nervous twitch in the book.

Seymour Ferguson - The other of Simon's two dorm mates. He's a short, pale fellow with a blonde bowlcut, a massive slacker streak and a know-it-all attitude that doesn't match up with his horrendous grades.

Friends and Foes
I can't tell with some of them sometimes, though.

HUMANS

Franz St. Germaine: Uhh.... gonk
Howl Wickham: He's in my gym class. Seems like more of a thinker than a fighter.
Elzo Xanis: It seems like I always have the worst luck around this guy.
Sidra Winters: I think she felt sorry for me, but she was still nice.
Marlo Xanis: He's Elzo's brother, but they couldn't be more different. For one, he's less-- well, I don't want to be mean or anything, but...
Alba Gale Delores: I don't know why she wanted to stand up for me.
I feel like she's my best friend, now. Hopefully it's okay to think that.

Bell McMahon: ...I'm sorry...
Tallulah Cowden: She seemed like a really good person. I mean, she works at an animal shelter!
Charlie Boyle: I... um, well...
Demy Stardust: Can we please talk about someone else?
Elke Arma: ...

SENSHI

Sailor Nemesis: ...
Sailor Thuban: I think he... saved my life?
He saved my life TWICE. Why does he still want to put up with me?

Sailor Alcyone: She's everything I don't think I can be.
Sailor Castor: It looks like I don't have a choice if he has anything to do with it.
Sailor Iris: Wow, she was pretty tough. I wonder how long she's been doing this.
Sailor Virgo: I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry...
Sailor Leo: ...

NEGAVERSE

Lieutenant Tanzanite: I hope I never run into her again!
Lieutenant Obsidian: ...
Sailor Nova: ...
Lieutenant Serandite: She... she was scary.

GUARDIANS

Astraea: Why did she pick me? I really think this pen would have been better off with someone else...
