Astronomy: Ever since she was a little girl Delaney has loved to gaze through a telescopic lens to try and unlock the mysteries of the universe. Her love of space got so bad that she badgered her parents that when they were thinking of moving to Destiny City that it had to be away from significant light pollution. Her parents decided on a farmhouse on the outskirts of town. Delaney keeps a log of the objects that she has seen through her observations. A personal dream would be to discover as of yet, an unknown celestial body like a comet and get it named after her. Her room is plastered with various star position charts to reflect each month.

Gardening (Green Thumb): For one who loves space so much during the day Delaney is very much down to earth. As in she loves to spend time gently coaxing her tiny garden to life. She takes great pleasure and pride in being able to bring in fresh flowers and produce in to show to her parents. Every time she plants something new in the earth she always views it as a challenge to make sure the seeds take root and she gently cultivates the growing plant, trimming it when necessary, keeping pests out, and just showing extreme patience. There are of course setbacks. Being sixteen there are times when things don't go as planned. Each failure though toughens her resolve that next times things will turn out correctly. Delaney will strike up conversation with other gardeners in an effort to gain knowledge of how she can improve her techniques.


Virtues:

Patient: Whether it's tracking the path of a celestial object through space or waiting to see if her gardening skills has paid off Delaney knows that all good things come to those that wait patiently for results. She doesn't like to rush around. Rushing things will inevitably cause mistakes and mistakes can mean ruined plants or a loss of weeks of observations through her telescope. She approaches all she does with a calm certainty that if one waits long enough the desired results will be obtained.

Self-Reliant / Independent: Delaney knows what it means to be self-reliant and independent. In her earlier years her parents often worked late hours. They gave Delaney the option of being what was called back then a "latch-key kid", in other words they put enough faith in their daughter that she could be left alone without needing to be supervised. In this time Delaney proved that she could be trusted to be able to look after not only herself but the home as well. Even though her parents don't work as often as they did in the past Delaney's self-reliant ways have not changed. She feels extremely proud that where others might need to ask for help she can usually manage to get by.

Optimistic: Delaney believes in the power of positive thinking. Sure things might get her down but it is the fact that she never lets on to the fact that something is bothering her. It's hard sometimes to keep on looking on the bright side but Delaney's up to the challenge. You cannot stop unfortunate things from happening but it is the way you approach them that reflects ones true strength.

Flaws:

Inflexible: As self-reliant as Delaney is she prefers to have things set up just the way she likes them. She likes to keep to a schedule when at home. At school it is a little harder to keep a schedule as unexpected things can and do happen. When faced with a challenge Delaney will muster through but it sometimes bothers her more than she realizes. Delaney doesn't like change if it can be avoided. When unexpected changes happen Delaney often experiences anxiety over the unforeseen. She tries to compensate but often finds herself wallowing.

Insecure: As odd as it sounds Delaney can suffer bouts of extreme insecurity. Optimism can only go so far at times. During these times Delaney feels that nothing she does is good enough. Her parents have learned to just let their daughter be during these trying times. Her insecurity branches from being seen as a perfect daughter and when things threaten that image that is when she starts to feel like something is amiss. The feeling that she can't do anything right almost threatens to overwhelm her. When trapped in this insecure phase the teen finds herself becoming nervous, easily upset and irritable. Delaney does her best to find the root cause though in order to have things return to how they were before. During these bouts though Delaney can find herself easily drawn into partaking in others schemes.

Obsessive: Want. Take. Have. A simple philosophy that can never really be put into practice. Delaney often covets what others have that she doesn't. Even if the need is impractical. At times the teen finds herself at odds with trying to balance out what she truly needs as to what is strongly desired. A lot of the time it comes down to her two hobbies that she finds herself needing better tools, equipment etc in order to improve things in her life. It doesn't make sense and yet Laney cannot stop herself from the need sinking its "claws" into her mind.


PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION

Eyes: Bright blue, circular in shape. Expressive.

Hair: In color it is like a slate-blue. Kailynne's pretty simple in how she keeps her hair but most of the time likes to have her hair loose. It flows down to just below her shoulders. Braids and ponytails are about as extreme as she'll go styling wise.

Face: Oval shape. Small ears. Kailynne does have pierced ears. Fair complexion.

Why Bobcats?

Delaney stared down at the small device in her hands as the little cybernetic creature issued a two tone death knell before the screen blacked out. Scoffing silently the teen tossed the little handheld game onto her bed before crossing to her desktop computer. She had always wanted something like a dog or a cat to raise on her own and having a farm was an ideal place for either option but even after having Itsuki briefly as an pet although he did not belong to her and he was able to look after himself. There was no rhyme or reason to her belief that having a pet would change anything in her life but maybe she'd be less lonely with having something that would look up to her for love and attention. But the cyber-critter did not care about what she wanted or needed from the interaction. It only seemed to care about itself and what it needed. The whole point was to try and nurture the critter into its final form but when the thing didn't care to last even longer than a day it was hard not to act on the desire to simply take a hammer to the device and give it a few whacks that would silence any death knell tones from being issued ever again. Instead of getting frustrated to the point of destroying the strange alien technology Delaney instead booted up the internet to search for the best solution to her problem. Perhaps it was time to broach the subject with her parents about adopting an animal once more. It was best to go for a straight on approach instead of taking the more secretive measures but it didn't stop her from booting up local sites for Destiny City's animal shelters in an attempt to at least have a chance at making a positive impact on the amount of animals that were running out of options for their own lives.

If she had a choice for the animal that she wanted to bring home it would obviously be a cat. It had nothing to do with her senshi sphere (or maybe it did), or the fact that it was cats that tended to awaken senshi (maybe that was also a factor), but Delaney had always been more drawn to the feline species rather than the canine species. For sure cats were more likely to snub their owners than dogs would but she felt that a cat would cause less issues as it already knew how to clean itself and would not have to be taught how to do the most basic of things. A dog required more attention in its rearing. It would need to taught to accept baths, to follow commands - essentially it was more hassle than dealing with a cat would be.

However that being said, it would still be run by her parents and as they'd firmly expressed in the past: they did not want to have an animal underfoot. It would probably come down to being vetoed in fact and with a small sigh of resignation did Delaney continue to browse shelter websites looking for perhaps just that perfect animal that would melt the ice around her parents hearts in order for them to allow their daughter the pet she craved. "It's either a real live animal or nothing else," she said to her empty room with a scowl at the little digital device on her bed. "If I get a real pet - you are meeting the end of my father's hammer I promise you that."
