(( ooc: there is a disposable powered character at use in this rp. They will perish by the end of this rp. I know the info thread only states that approved shop disposables need an ooc note, but I'm being safe, rather than sorry. I will also be bringing in an official shop character later in the rp )) She ran. Even though her legs burned, she still ran. Still she couldn't seem to shake the one that was stalking her. Page Dancruan was still fairly new to this city. She was new to being a magical warrior. New in the sense that she had only found out about being chosen to fight chaos less than an hour ago. There had been no warning that tonight of all nights she would have stumbled across what seemed to be a massively worn down small stone sundial only to experience a sudden shift in appearance and the name "Dancruan" resounding throughout her mind.
"Look, just whomever you are, leave me alone," was yelled over her shoulder even as a feeling of wrongness surged up inside of her, "I haven't done anything to deserve this." Brunette locks streamed out in a braided ponytail while her bangs were hastily swept out of her eyes as she darted around a corner of a building. There was no way she could keep up this pace. Her lungs were burning now and her legs were beginning to feel like jelly. Breathing deeply she greedily gulped down as much air as she could before trying to regain focus. Think. Then act.
It was logical to try and get somewhere amongst a crowd and lose herself in the throngs of people but she wasn't near any. Going further into the shadows cast by the building could be both a good and bad idea. One solution that she thought had no chance was to stand her ground and fight. Peeking out from her little hiding place Dancruan caught no sight of her pursuer but yet she couldn't shake the feeling that she was still in mortal danger.

She saw it, felt it, and thought about how she could snuff it out before that spark turned into a flame. Stopping a knight before they got to cause any trouble for the Negaverse and maybe, just maybe, she'd get to check the first mark off her list. It was dark and if she was right, it looked like her luck had pointed her after one of those purple floral knights. Maybe it was from all the star seeds she'd taken in after that senshi broke her wrist in the sleep center, or maybe she was just seeing a faction and not the person wearing the clothing anymore. Sure they weren't some college frat boy existing only to cause trauma, but they were a knight and they needed to be snuffed out. Teleporting up and above the crowd, she looked down into the alley at that cornered little knight from the rooftop. Watching, waiting, and thinking of what way to handle this. She had a good feeling about tonight, something told her this might be the night and she would keep this first knight starseed as a trophy. It wasn't that ida knight who had gotten away twice now but at least she'd finally have one from order which would mean one less obstacle in the way for the Negaverse. Maybe it would even make Chrysocolla proud after how she'd not really gotten anything positive out of the burning of the sleep study building. Decided on the course of action, she teleported down, making sure to land quietly as she sent her ever-obedient monster out toward her goal. "Oh yes you have, you chose the wrong side. Boo." Laughing as the fog rolled out from her, she leaned in and waited for the next inevitability. The scream that would come as her dullahan caught them in its grasp. It was her M.O. at this point, tried and true. tefla Beatrix's Embrace A dark fog radiates out from Beatrix, a shadowy figure appears behind the enemy and whispers something before wrapping them in its cold body. They can clearly see the armor and fact that the figure is headless. It disappears with a laugh as the magic fades. Radius is 8 feet. Effect and illusion lasts for 25 seconds and can be used twice per battle

Dancruan had almost gotten her second wind. All that she would need to do know is get out of this outfit and go home. That would have been the plan if the sense of being watched had gone away, but it hadn't. It spurred her thoughts that maybe, just maybe there was still a chance she could get out of this mess. Even as her vision spotted what looked like a possible new hiding spot did Dancruan feel the sudden surge in energy from behind her and she stumbled in surprise. The dark fog rolled over her then and she squinted to try and pinpoint anything that could have been of use in this new and unexpected scenario. Her item she carried was thrown in the direction that she thought her opponent was in before she felt IT.
Cold hands ... reaching for her ... pulling her into a body that seemed to be suddenly there, in the fog. Her body froze. "No. No. This can't be real. Gotta be dreaming," but even that hope was snuffed out as she craned her neck to peer at whomever it was had a solid grip on her body before she let out a short scream. What in the unholy hell was this thing?
Even as she struggled more futilely to try and break the hold that was on her arms did she shout to the one that had to be around, "no no no. I didn't choose this. I just wanted to be left alone."Somewhere nearby there was, what felt like to Meissa, a battle between the forces of good and evil. Surely it warranted investigating especially since she could tell that it was decidedly an uneven battle if her sensing abilities were working correctly. C'mon a basic order signature against a higher one wasn't fair at all.
Hoping that she could be of some assistance the Super Senshi of Bobcats began to run in the direction that the auras were coming from. Her words were swallowed by the night as she ran but it was mainly to the effect of, "hold on, help's coming."
In a one on one scenario between two individuals of the same level she would be able to hold her own she hoped. Admittedly all her magic did was make her opponents feel afraid but sometimes that was enough.

Reaching forward, through her dullahan and into their back, she felt the familiar solidity of a starseed. She traced her fingers over it just for a moment before pulling back out and walking around the front. "If this is a dream then I'm Freddy Kruger yanno?" Putting a hand over their mouth so they couldn't scream, she looked over them hunting for that floral symbol. Anger spread through her face as she noticed another symbol instead, one of the other ones, the older groups. Looking at them, thinking just for a moment if this was really going to happen, she pushed that doubt away and thought of Metallia and of her family of corrupt senshi. This would help them keep things going and show how she was doing a good job even if she still really didn't care to look through any of the training guides. Reaching in again, feeling their starseed with a light grip, she looked down at the taunting symbols of a planet and of Order. The thrum in her mind called for more of them, just a taste, just a bite. More power so she could get more praise from the only group of people who had seemed to care about her after she'd been abandoned so many times. She'd even started being okay with some of the ones that were guys because the side they were on took precedence over who they were. Maybe that's why things had shifted, but the thoughts held no purchase as she taunted that starseed with her fingers, squeezing it just enough to cause pressure but not enough to crack it. "Look at it this way, I'm solving a problem for us both. You get to take a nice long nap and be left alone, and I get a nice snack a la takeout." Leaning in she pulled slowly, and carefully on the thing until it came free from their chest. Watching for the light to go out, for them to slump into her creature, she placed a hand on it's shoulder. It was solid when she needed it to be and could reach through when she needed to but they were always there too and she did this for them as well. Holding the starseed up to the moonlight, she inspected it with its light purple color. Not the same light blue of that Ida one but a nice shade of purple like her own eyes. Hiding it away in her subspace, she turned as she felt that other order aura final arrive.

Okay, hands where hands were not meant to go. Dancruan's gaze widened perceptively as the one that had been chasing her seemed to materialize from beyond whatever it was that was holding her immobile. There was a sensation of a hand pressing on her back only to simply push through the resistance that skin and bone should have offered to grasp at something that was housed inside before letting go. Perhaps it was the briefest moments of contact before the hand was withdrawn but that brief touch caused the Pluto page to visibly shudder in place. It had physically hurt. Why had it felt so wrong? Even as the other finally strode into view did Dancruan fight against the hand that suddenly covered her mouth. What was going on now? Was she about to be robbed? Her eyes sparkled with unshed tears even as she tried to shake free of the grip that the nightmare creature had on her.
All of a sudden the pressure she'd briefly felt before returned, except it was located on her chest. Her gaze widened at the unbelievable sight of the other woman's hand going physically into her chest before her whole world exploded into searing agony. What was this strange woman doing? Her whole body shook from the sensation of wrongness pervading every nook and cranny that should have remained sacrosanct. Her screams were muffled by the hand over her mouth and those tears that had been threatening to fall ... indeed fell.
There was a brief moment of awareness in which Dancruan believed she felt some other sensation of someone else arriving nearby but that realization came even as another wave of agony swamped her frame as whomever it was that had been chasing her gripped down hard on something inside of her chest and began to pull on it ... not hard and not fast, but rather slowly and almost gently. In doing so though Dancruan felt the most amount of agony she'd ever experienced in her life. What seemed like a lifetime of intense and mind-numbing pain for the newly awakened page was cut short as she caught sight of a strange looking crystal being withdrawn from her chest before she slumped inward.Meissa had witnessed the final few seconds of whatever was going on in the alley and was incensed enough that she couldn't even find the words that were needed to announce her presence. A corrupt senshi ... no, a corrupt super senshi had Meissa flashing back to an alleyway confrontation in the past in which she hadn't fared so well. But back then she'd only been a basic senshi. She was stronger now. That corrupt that was down there would get owned and she'd get the starseed back to what looked and felt like a page. Even as she cautioned herself to be wary of this newly met opponent did Meissa feel like time was running out for her to act and with that determination she leapt off the rooftop and felt the impact of her landing through her feet before she glared at the other senshi.
"Look, I really didn't want to fight but whatever. Ultimatum time. Give that starseed back to it's owner and I'll let you go. If not well you'll end up feeling me sink my claws into you."
Meissa waited for the other to make a choice before studying the appearance of both the opponent and their victim. The unconscious page was caught in the grip of something that suddenly seemed to fade from sight even as she watched. Without the support the page dropped to the ground like a stone and Meissa winced. That wouldn't feel pleasant when she finally woke up.

She stepped back and placed the front of her heel on their throat. "What owner?" Crushing their windpipe with her heel she looked at the senshi that stood before her. "I don't see anyone here besides us unless you mean this corpse. But I mean I'm not really one to have a thing for that kinda stuff but you can have em if you want? " Pulling another starseed out of her subspace she crunched it between her teeth for that extra bit of power, that extra bit of strength so she could play with this order senshi. Pulling up the knight, she tossed them at the senshi like a sack of brick as she closed the distance and sent another wave of her fog out. Maybe there would be a two-for-one deal on starseeds tonight, either way, she'd make this quick so she could go back to hunting her normal targets, those useless frat boys that were out partying tonight. She'd make her rent from their pockets now that she'd already gotten enough energy gathered for her quota. tefla Beatrix's Grasp A dark fog radiates out from Beatrix, a shadowy figure appears in the fog. It will reach out to grab an enemy with an icy cold hand. The being is still mostly enveloped by the fog or shadows. The radius is 6 feet. Effect and illusion lasts for 15 seconds and can be used 3 times per battle

Meissa's eyes widened in horror as she bore witness to something that was tantamount to murder. A pulled starseed could have been returned. The additional atrocity of having one's windpipe crushed though that usually was a death sentence in itself. There had, of course, been plenty of advances in the medical field but unless she were to get this unknown victim to a hospital there was just no chance. Factor in the loss of the starseed and the outlook was looking even more grim with every second that passed. Needless to say the bluenette was not ready for this continuing interaction.
"..." ... sounds were trying to get out but all speech had deserted her. Trying once more to speak had Meissa grit her teeth together at the sight of another starseed being used like a hard candy before she found the still warm body of the page being tossed in her direction. The sudden additional weight had her stumble for a second before she carefully lay the unknown person down on the ground in front of her, "How dare you? What did she do to deserve this?"
The fog that rolled out didn't bother Meissa one bit but the feeling of an ice-cold hand clamping down on her right wrist had her taking her attention off the corrupt for a moment to see what it was that had caught a hold of her. It didn't feel like a youma, she remembered that feeling all too well which meant it had to be part of this senshi's magic. The visible outline of the hand's owner was lost in the swirling mist but the coldness on her wrist felt all too real. Not to mention the fact it was gripping down a little too tight. Even as the corrupt moved in was she paying close attention to the distance that separated them.
"Spectral person, hmm. Take some of Meissa's Dual Stalker mode"
It was probably wise to get this unknown senshi on the run before she managed to do any further damage and even as her bobcats materialized did Meissa find the grip on her wrist loosening to the point where she could break free of the hold that had been established.Quote: Super Sailor Scout Attack: Meissa's Dual Stalker Mode Meissa will create the illusion of two bobcats that circles her chosen target(s) for thiry seconds. During the duration of the illusion the target(s) of the attack will feel like cornered prey being stalked by a predator. They could experience fear, anxiety and maybe even the need to flee. It takes attention away from Meissa and could maybe leave the target open to being attacked. It's a distraction technique at the most. The enemy has to be inside a nine foot radius for the feeling of prey to be most effective. If Meissa is struck during the duration of the attack the illusion will end abruptly. Meissa can use this attack three times per battle.

Something else was moving in the fog as she made her way towards them. Through the fog, she thought she saw some type of feline circling just far enough away that she couldn't shoo them off. She didn't like that feeling though, that feeling like something was watching her and waiting for her to mess up so they could take her down. Moving forward as she tried to shake the feeling off, she grabbed the senshi by the collar and shook her. "Stop that you dumb b***h. All you pastel and light-colored dumbasses are causing trouble so what if I even the playing field a little? Order isn't so high and mighty that they wouldn't do the same and you're stupid if ya think otherwise. Who's to say she wasn't going to go all postal on some of us once she got stronger?" Anger seethed through her teeth as she used her other hand to reach into their chest. "Just because your starseeds are all bright and sparkly doesn't mean you are better than us like that princess that interrupted me. I can just take this and you'll be like her yanno? Two for one and I can go on my happy way and keep getting rid of the real problem in this city. You order people with your holier-than-thou opinions can eat s**t because ignoring the problem of the real rotten everyday civilians in this city isn't getting better because of you. At least I go out and take those assholes out so they can't keep causing trouble for everyone else." Running her fingers over their starseed, she really laid on all the anger and anxiety that was building up. She could feel it bristling up her spine, feeding into her prickliness. It felt freeing getting it off her chest, even as that fight or flight feeling tried to break through the high of the starseed she'd eaten. "Maybe if you can give me a down-to-earth reason not covered in bullshit and morals I'll let you go? I just want to get rid of those knights mainly, really stick it to the bitches and bastards that rule over them yanno. But you had to hop along and curiosity can kill a cat."

Everything had been going so wrong up to this point so it was no surprise to Meissa that the magic she'd cast had only made her opponent more volatile. The fog that had radiated out from her opponent had effectively made it harder to see but she knew her bobcats had at least managed to materialize and start their circling. What Meissa had not counted on was to have the corrupt senshi literally burst out of the fog she had created to grab her by her collar and start shaking her like a rag doll before stopping.
Being shaken as she was Meissa noticed that her bobcats were still visible and she made the mental connection that because she hadn't actually been struck, that her magic still worked. Back when she was still just a basic senshi she'd been struck in the face and her magic had fizzled out. Since then she had been careful not to repeat the experience. Was that the caveat to her magic then, being hit equalled no more fear-inducing apparitions?
Her attention suddenly was brought back to the present when she felt pressure on her chest only to then experience an uncomfortable sensation that made her almost squirm to try and pull away from whatever was going on. But even as she made to move away or push the corrupt senshi away from her did she pause in her actions. Either action sent spikes of pain radiating from her chest and if the grip remained what would happen if separation did occur?
"Stop," she wheezed out as her magic seemed to expire and the apparitions disappeared, "the magic is over."
Was that a good enough reason or did she really need to dig deeper for something that would brew confusion in her opponent's mind while perhaps placating her enough that she'd release her, "I can't give you a good reason except that I might be thinking of joining your side,"
Oh, this was possibly both a good and a bad idea but Meissa pushed forward with the lie, "I'd need time though ... to put things in order for when I decide to change my allegiance."
Her slate-blue eyes were wide and unblinking as she mentally dared this senshi to not buy her explanation and finish her off then and there. There had been moments before, years back, when the thought had crossed her mind that it might be better to offer herself to chaos, but she never had uttered the words before. Having done so now, the overwhelming sense of wrongness permeated her entire being. But she had to get this senshi to let go of her starseed and perhaps by sowing confusion, and using the idea that she was willing to corrupt in the future, was the way to go?

Leaning in, she felt that building anxiety fade away as they wheezed. Narrowing her eyes at them, gears started turning in her head. Bringing someone from order over was worth more praise than just bringing their starseed right? Pulling her fingers back away from their starseed but not quite out of their chest, she thought of something from a long time ago. "So... you're ready to choose the path that rocks?" She was still angry, still prickly but the gears had started to turn and she'd still get to go and collect some more starseeds after since this wasn't a fight anymore. "Well, s**t.... sorry about all that then. You shoulda said something first." She could just hear it now, Chrys saying she did a good job and maybe that dreaded guy doin' the same. They understood her, got what she was doing were fine with it if not supportive. Willing her dullahan away, the fog cleared and it was just them and the corpse left in the alley. Pulling her hand out fully she grabbed theirs and shook it. "It's totally a nice place, they even pay us way more than the shitty minimum wage now. It's totally a vibe." Her grip on them was still a bit strong as she shook their hand with each word. "Oh uh... how much time did you need to think things over I can tell my boss about it, she's really nice and good at helping figure things out since it can be a bit jarring."

Meissa dared not to breathe as the grip loosened around her starseed. Her opponent still had not taken their hand from her chest and so it was with excruciating moments passing did Meissa pray that she'd found a weakness in this senshi's demeanor. Her quickly thought of excuse seemed to have changed the way her opponent was thinking though as the fog wafted away and the grip that had been on her wrist suddenly disappeared. The alley returned as did the sight of the dead page at their feet and Meissa gulped silently before giving a quick nod of her head.
"I've been giving it careful consideration," it was best to keep the answer short even as she felt the hand completely vacate her chest. Her gaze wavered back to the corrupt's own eyes before she sighed, "the reason I didn't say anything when I dropped in was that I may have overreacted when I saw you murder your victim there. It was kind of barbaric. You know, unexpected and all that."
Hopefully she was playing her cards right. Meissa's best acting skills were called upon (which probably weren't that great) before she accepted the handshake of the corrupt senshi. It was stronger than her own grip and the constant shaking of her hand was probably going to leave some muscular soreness directly afterwards but Meissa endured it. Her brain caught on one aspect of the recruitment spiel being given to her and she latched onto it with a breathy exclamation, "you're paid?"
What she stopped herself from saying outright was along the lines of "to murder everyone." No that wouldn't go over well with the situation. Best to keep her own opinions to herself. At the question of how much time would she need to consider things Meissa paled a little. Her brain though quickly supplied a reasonable response, "I'd need at least a month or two to set things in motion. I could even make it look like I leave to go somewhere, but never return. Disappeared. Gone. Vanished. Perhaps abducted never to be seen again. Maybe you could be the one that takes me?"
Meissa paused, "I could come to you with no one the wiser about where I've really gone."

"I mean... I've had a bit of bad luck with princesses." She wasn't about to take too many chances if someone interrupted her. It did feel kind of bad being called out on what she did but it didn't feel barbaric to her, just quick and easy. Get the job done and move on, though she would've just thrown them in the dumpster to let nature run its course instead of playing that bigger part. She'd been angry though, thinking they were an Ida knight. A reminder that she'd failed not once but twice at this point and still hadn't made up for it. "Yeah paid pretty well enough that even my slum lord of a landlord can't try to get me evicted anymore." She hated that place and her landlord but she hated trying to find roommates even more, at least before she started meeting a few more corrupts she could vibe with. "I guess the gig is mostly like being a tax collector for energy, I like being a street cleaner though." Holding back the bit about how she'd clean up the drunks after a bar crawl. Had to make a good impression if she was going for the praise of getting someone to join up. Maybe she'd get another medal like the one she had from the fighting tournament. "Hrm.. that's awhile but uhhhh we'd have to figure out how to like meet up or get ahold of each other. Sounds like a spy movie though, pretty though out and s**t. I'd def be up for bringing you, my boss would be all about that." The fact they were on about how it would be her that would get to bring them, was the best thing. It would be really awesome to be able to bring people in, she knew it was a great place for people. She'd gotten used to even taking after a few other of the lower ranked senshi and agents with this past thing she'd done. She'd saved the bubble boy and impressed another eternal. The rest had been shitty but tonight would make up for it with the knight's starseed and the promise of being able to take another order member away from the wrong side of things. Nodding she had an idea. "Oh! There's this really chill 7/11 with no cameras I sometimes go and get nachos at. If you want to like leave a note or something there I can grab it off the slurpee machine or something. They're really chill people as long as you don't start s**t."
Looking down at the knight though, she nudged them aside. "I uh... have to clean this up but yea def let me know yanno?"

Meissa's real thoughts were to simply make it out of this encounter alive. But she was also learning some interesting facts too. Like how she could use this knowledge of leaving notes to possibly lay a trap down the road if she could pull it off. But there was a bit of marked hesitance in that idea. Instead Meissa simply let her own personality shine through as she gave the other a smile, "it would be very spy like, wouldn't it? Secret notes and all that sort of stuff that comes with it. I can't rush things though lest people start getting suspicious, but I'll definitely make every effort to contact you."
She avoided looking at the corpse that was still lying at their feet before she absently rubbed at her hand where the phantom creature in the fog had grabbed at her. "So, what are you called? I'm Meissa. If I leave a note when I'm ready signed with either a little bobcat doodle or an M ... or both ... would you know it's from me?"
It was better to truly act like she was sincere in wanting to join ... instead of just looking for an easy way to escape this current conflict ...
But yet, there was a little tug of curiosity thrumming through her veins. What could it be like ... to suddenly not care about what was truly the right thing to do anymore.

"Yeah would be like some sorta bond movie or whatever, I can dig it. I can get needing to avoid people figuring out you're swapping over to the better side of things." It made sense even if she hadn't dealt with it yet, she knew a bit about the whole thing and how it had to do with the bigwigs in the Negaverse. It would be nice to meet one of them maybe get on their good side, and try to really get more into the whole thing. "Oh yea, Beatrix is the name, I can leave a note back with a B or a little skull. I can remember that, M and a cat." Letting go of their hand, she went to pick up the body. "Just let me know and I can get stuff set up. Also uh, if anybody is coming, like cops and stuff, just give a shout?" Struggling as she decided on dragging instead, she moved the knight over towards the dumpsters and threw a few bags on top of them. Good enough. She'd just avoid this area for a week or so just in case.

Backing away from Beatrix was the safest route even as she watched in silence as the corrupt senshi picked up the body of the dead Page only to throw it into a trash bin like a simple piece of trash. A shudder went down her spine at the thought that had she not played her cards right ... it could have certainly been her fate as well. There was still an inherit risk in what idea she had proposed in order to get Beatrix's hands off of her starseed in that one moment that she had been in deep peril.
"Beatrix, skull ... got it."
Meissa backed up a step before looking towards the roof and nodding at the other senshi's words. She'd holler for sure if she saw any cops on the prowl, just to keep up the appearance of her little ruse. Her gaze was torn away from the dumpster and the body it now held before she swallowed with a nervousness that wasn't like her. If others linked Beatrix to this alley could they also link her to a potential crime scene too? Her body automatically readied itself for the leap that would clear her of the alleyway before she made the jump. It'd be wiser to avoid this area for the next little while, no matter how badly she wanted to try and at least do something for the unknown page that had lost their life this night.
