Tattooed and twitchy, Rabbit looks like the kind of person you might take the long way around to avoid if you saw him in the cereal aisle. Even so, most of the time he's not all that bad once you've committed to the approach. While he does smoke and drink to occasional excess, he's also obsessively clean and goes through bouts of friendliness so intense that they'll make you wonder if you ever truly understood the definition of the word bestie. If you catch him during one of his darker moods, however, even the most harmless of conversations can turn into a verbal minefield. Thankfully, times like those are few and far between these days, Rabbit's anger having largely been replaced by an antsiness that has him breaking into impromptu, wheezy five-block sprints to blow off steam more often than punching walls.

QUEST MARKER UPDATED (AUGUST 18, 2016 - ???)
After spending three months removed from his average life, Rabbit returned to find that while nothing much had changed, his perspective had been turned on its ear.
Where he once saw Olivia as someone who needed his constant protection, he now realizes that his sister is a capable adult, her boyfriend a stand-up guy who is there for her when he is not. Her happiness remains one of his life's greatest purposes, but with the birth of his birds and his rise to nobility, his once frantic search for a cause has calmed to a dull mania. He has plenty of causes now.
Rabbit continues to chafe against the day to day, wondering what he is doing behind the desk at a salon when he has an undead servant waiting just behind the closest door. He longs to do something more grand and life-shaking with his knowledge and power, but remains unsure as to how to accomplish this, still more of a follower than a leader.
A QUEST! (??? - AUGUST 18, 2016)
Ever since the car accident that killed his father and crippled his sister twenty-five years ago, Rabbit has made it a mission to care for Olivia—his previously mentioned sister—even though he's always been kind of terrible at it. In truth, she takes care of him, or more accurately, they take care of each other, but it's only in the last few months that Rabbit has realized their care equation is not as one-sided as he thought. (That was probably thanks to Liv's surprise acquisition of her first boyfriend, but Rabbit doesn't want to talk about that.)
With what he has always considered his life's purpose pulled out from under him, Rabbit finds himself publicly in denial and privately at a loss as to what to do now. It hardly seems worth it to hold down his shitty receptionist job and make himself regularly presentable for only himself. While he continues his day to day life much as he always has for the moment, he unconsciously searches every situation and interaction for a cause he considers as worthwhile to champion, good or bad.
Rabbit can shift into an insect-inspired form. Features include: white hair and eyes, a moderately intense golden glow, and insect wings with a five foot span at their widest. When interrupted by something solid, these wings dissipate into particles and reform quickly but fluidly. He cannot fly.
While the immediate effects of alcohol, drugs, and cigarettes are as expected, the long term repercussions of these substances do not linger in Rabbit's body, leaving his lungs, liver, and other organs pristine no matter how often he indulges.
Rabbit can sense the strength and wholeness of a magical working simply by touching it. This works particularly strongly on sigils, where he can sense whether the Principals are whole and the intent behind them by touch. He can also determine when something has been used as a reagent for a magical working. How exactly these things feel is up to the player. However, should you wish to examine a meta sigil or working, please quote shibrogane.
Whenever Rabbit focuses on crossing over into other Ashdown, two pairs of faintly glowing, child-sized footprints appear within his line of sight. If he follows them to their destination without losing sight of them, he will eventually find himself in other Ashdown. It can take anywhere from five to twenty minutes for the prints to stop dawdling and lead him where he needs to be, but overall it's a reliable way to get to the other side.

THE PERFECT CLEAN-UP (QUEST - NOT YET)
With a snap of his fingers Rabbit is able to clean up most messes large or small. He can't actually put an entire building back to rights but he’s absolutely able to bring a single wrecked room back to the state that it was in originally before it was wrecked.
He can now write in the air with a fingertip. With intention, Rabbit can cause streaks of light to follow his fingertips through the air in one single and unchanging color. These lights will only disappear once he wants them to.
Whenever Rabbit needs to tie something together, he can do it with a quick flick of the wrist and wiggle of the fingers. This makes a luminescent length of rope appear around the object and thread itself into the knot desired, like magic! Because it is magic, you dingus.
Never will Rabbit have to worry about chapped lips ever again! His lips are always perfectly moist and at peak kissing condition.
GONE (BEYOND2)
Rabbit can bend the light in an eight-foot cube around him, rendering living creatures in that space invisible. In direct sunlight, anyone he is hiding cannot be seen, even when they move with him. In a well-lit room, they will remain invisible unless they are moving, in which case they will shimmer like a heat mirage while they do so. In shadowy areas or near darkness, this power doesn't work.
SIREN'S CALL (BEYOND)
Rabbit possesses the ability to send a mental alert to the last three visitors he spoke to or saw, even if he is not aware of their visitor status, broadcasting the severity of the situation he is calling them about and his specific location. The initial call is insistent enough to wake a moderately deep sleeper, but it is easily ignored after that, unless the person is willing to help. In that instance, the location beacon will remain accessible to them until 1) it has guided the visitor to Rabbit, 2) the danger has ceased, or 3) the helper has lost interest in helping. The beacon can cross between regular Ashdown and the otherworld, and vice versa.
SPOTLESS (RISER)
Rabbit has the ability to rub stains out of most fabrics and other organic materials by running his hands or fingers over them. Minor/recent stains (spilled food immediately after spilling, stray pen marks, very fresh lipstick) come out with one or two swipes, more set-in marks (watercolor artwork, wine spilled long ago, dinginess on unbleached white fabric) begin to fade at 100-150 swipes and are gone before 500, and seemingly permanent marks (dyes in clothing, tattoos) will slowly disappear after upwards of 7,500 strokes. The process can take multiple sittings and does not "reset" once it has begun. He has to be touching the surface for it to work, so if he's holding a sponge or something, the item will be cleaned conventionally, for good or ill. This is a conscious power.
IT WAS ALWAYS IN MY POCKET (DREAMER)
Rabbit has the fortunate tendency to always be in possession of the one little knickknack or thingamabob that he needs to finish the project. While it's limited only to pocket-sized things (he's not gonna be pulling out a tire jack) you never know when you'll need an extra quarter for the meter or a fuse for your car, which makes him a useful person to know. This is an unconscious power. If he tries to specifically pull something out of a pocket that he thinks he needs, it will never manifest.
Rabbit is currently thirty-four years old (september 5, 1982). He's 5'9". Chaotic good. His birth name is Bennett, and while he's more apt to answer to it these days, he still doesn't like it. Bennett became Rabbit at the age of seventeen when his eventual/former best friend Kevin "Vic" Doyle somehow misheard his name while they were being introduced. It stuck, even though Vic didn't. He and Olivia were raised on Staten Island, moved to Manhattan when he was twenty-one, and finally relocated to Ashdown three years ago for reasons involving Liv's health care. Rabbit still considers New York City home and visits when his funds allow. He doesn't get back there often. He works at Bibliophile. Prior to the remaking of the sigil, he worked as a receptionist at Maverick Stylists. He owns a never-ending box of chocolate! meta 4 consequences for reference
A pair of othercreatures called sirens (colloquially known as squeeps for the noises they made when they were babies) that Rabbit "rescued" from other Ashdown as eggs. Nev, the slightly older of the two, is quieter as well, content to observe and offer his opinions to those he trusts. Sy is also surprisingly observant, though she is boisterous and confrontational too, and is more likely to miss subtleties that her brother has caught while gaining information in ways Nev wouldn't consider. Though they might jockey for favor among adults, they never truly fight, sharing knowledge in secret peeps and chirps.
they currently appear about nine years old nev: 4'1" sy: 4'2"

Rabbit's fetch. She likes scalp massages, big hugs, and clothes from Target.
4 3/4" tall (likes Nev best don't tell anyone and not just because their names are mirrors of each other because ven can't even spell omgah) bby ven big ven
olivia
Rabbit's younger sister.
Olivia is thirty-two years old (may 22, 1985) and would be 5'5" standing, which she hasn't done in quite a long time. When she was five (march 11, 1991), Liv was in a car crash that left her legs paralyzed. Her middle name is Lee. She has a boyfriend named Jim Nielsen. They met at the hospital where Liv goes for physical therapy and they've been dating since October of 2015.
p***k
A troublesome four year old Maine Coon who loves cardboard boxes, shedding, and sleeping in Rabbit's bed.
He's ginormous. He's not a fan of human food, preferring dry kibble to all else.

mr. clean
The kids were well impressed with their dad's new skill for all of five minutes. A short time after Gloom had gone back to where Glooms go, they lost interest in all things repair-related, running off to start a new game in the living room like there hadn't ever been any drama at all. No little lost creature intermittently wreaking havoc in their space for months. It seemed the experience had inspired an adventure into make believe entitled SHADOW POLICE, which was fine in Rabbit's book. As long as they didn't actually go out and try to fight shadow crime or bring shadow assailants to shadow justice or anything. As long as they weren't thinking about their own mortality. Their preoccupation gave him time to play around a bit anyway. Gloom had said he'd be able to do more than fix a poster, and he wanted to see for himself exactly what 'more' entailed.
