And then Leila was totally there too, all concerned and baffled by Autumn's disappearance and the present circumstances. There'd be some more prose about her entrance and internal monologue here but I feel like s**t right now. Please forgive me.

She regarded the small crowd of people gathered in front of the mansion and, digging some fingers into her hair, sighed, "This again. Really."

He woke up in his pajamas on the beach, hair dusted with sand. The fine mist settling around him reminded Theo of the night he had dreamed of a talking toy ferret and a gaggle of shadowy baby hands, and as he opened his eyes and realized it was the same place, he sighed the dramatic sigh of the truly inconvenienced.

He was surprised to find there were a number of people already here, none of whom he recognized. There was also a mansion, the only place nearby that he wouldn't have minded seeing more of. Too bad when he thought to do just that a wave of DO NOT WANT crashed into him, forcing him to grit his teeth and hold his breath. Okay, then. He'd stay right where he was, barefoot and slightly damp.


Unlike a number of his fellow visitors, Rabbit hadn't thought to prepare an Other Ashdown Survival Kit, even though he had been deliberately looking to visit this time. He had remembered to bring an umbrella however, and he popped the half-broken thing open as he power walked toward the beach. Autumn hadn't shown up at Maverick for a while, and even though he didn't want to pry and he hadn't heard any of the meat n' nails stories going around, it felt right somehow to make an effort to find her. He might have been taking initiative more often these days, but What Would Autumn Do was still a regular mantra. In this case, following it was easy. What would Autumn do? She would save her own life. Duh.

His only regret was that he hadn't dared to bring the eggs back into what was surely certain danger. He'd left them with p***k, trusting that he wouldn't be gone that long and that they wouldn't hatch while he was.

Rabbit sped up when he saw the gathering on the beach, narrowing his eyes at the house. It wasn't to be trusted.

"I... okay you make a fair point. I'll try to not give it ideas, I suppose," Chris amended to his description, thinking it over. It was a good idea to probably keep it from getting any more creepy although, this house was doing a damn good job despite being the most normal thing here.

There was something else bothering him though and he realized it quickly, tacking on "Will has power here? I.. didn't really realize it." He'd have to test that later, for sure.

He fell silent at the rest though, more than happy to let others talk for the moment.

Jeremiah nodded towards Zac briefly, though some part of him was not exactly happy to hear about smokey. "We can talk after this, Zac. I've been meaning to get a hold of you but with Autumn having gone missing ..."

He shook his head. It was another case at work that had taken his time up and considering it had become obvious other ashdown was involved ...

No comment on Zac's other commentary. Really. It just got an eyebrow arch and a look. Alexis was still stared at and then, of all things, Jeremiah smiled at them. Pleasantly. An I'm watching you kind of smile. No, Alexis was not getting a further explanation of powers.

Not for now.

Not when the doors opened.

Jeremiah's smile turned to a frown and he glanced towards Algie first, then to Chris. "Just be aware of it for now and we can talk about it later." His fingers brushed against Algie's sleeve and his head tilted towards the doors.

His danger sense was still throwing him off but ... This was where they were meant to go and the way was open. It was too much like a trap and he did not like it.
