"My arm is fine, sir, but you on the other hand. You look like you're about to pass out. Do you need anything? Want me to grab one of the nurses or something?" Diana offered, stepping around until she was in front of him. She would have offered to fix him up herself, but she didn't have a lot of medical training or anything. It may have just been better if he went to the professional first. Then he could get the real attention he needed.

The CDC? Deal with this? Eve barked with a sardonic bit of laughter -- straight into the BULLHORN, no less -- at how ridiculous that sounded next to the outright supernatural experience that led them here. "Contagion?"

There was a small spark of an idea, and Eve thought fast, snatching her voice back and hoping the police outside would start thinking what she wanted them to think if she chose her words correctly. This meant lying, which quite frankly she was not above doing.

"Officers, hypertrichosis is unusual, but it's congenital, not contagious! I think some people inside here must have panicked and let their imaginations take over. I have a similar condition, there's a support group for us in the area, and I was contacted about some new people showing up recently. The attacker must have come looking for us and had some kind of trauma flashback that's turned him hostile. The witnesses in here I've spoken to have even said he's hairy in a way that fits the bill."

"No," Temperance said sternly, "-no alcohol. Nasir, do not get him any. If he drinks, we won't be able to tell if his symptoms are getting worse - it can mask that. Absolutely not." From what she could tell, it seemed as though he'd suffered head trauma. There wasn't much she could do about it until they let them out of this hellhole. Still, she pushed Aleksy gently down and cast a critical eye on Nasir's bandages. People needed treatment, and it was enough to make her tear her hair out. But tearing her hair out, being worried over those who were alive; it was all better than the alternative. There was dried blood crusted around her nails and in the lines of her hands.

She blinked and abruptly stood up. "Connor, can your attitude. I'll be back - Nasir, try not to move too much yourself, either." Temperance needed to do something. She dusted off her scrubs as she stood, uselessly, feeling the stiff material under her hands. She swallowed. "Going to check out the supply closet, just in case."

Her footsteps were purposeful and impartial to the people around her. She passed by Eve, stopping briefly to lean in. "Don't think a police officer would know what hypertrichosis is, but good call." Then she continued briskly walking forward, not looking around. Temperance headed to the closet and turned the knob to peek inside. Maybe there would be something useful, anything. A secret way out, a magical potion of heal-all, a time machine.

Eve grinned slyly back at Temperance. "Oh, I know. That's so one of them will Google it. Thanks for looking after my son, by the way. You're a treasure."

"A warg?" Rylan said, looking at Dawson. "It's, uh. I can see through the eyes of a little bird. There's a ton of cops, firefighters, CDC outside. They've set up a cordon, I believe. And they're talking about a quarantine."

He rubbed his fingers against his temple, watching as the group descended into the basement while others wandered off to search the area.

"Have we communicated with the upstairs group yet? Do we know if anyone else has been injured?"

"Sew?" Cataleen repeated in a faint voice, sweat beading out on her forehead as she stared at the needle in the mans hand. "Do you- Are you- oh god."

She latched onto Juniper's hand, and squeezed hard for moral support.

"You- you were over by the taxidermy booth, I think, right? So, you've sewn up dead animals. I- look, my back hurts like blazes, and I don't know if I could stand, um, that." she looked at Alois with wide, frightened eyes. "Do you at least have some painkillers?"

Chester stood at the mouth of the elevator shaft, peering down into the darkness with a sigh. He had hoped to find passage to the outside, but this looked more like it led into the basement, a place he most definitely didn't want to be.

Well, that settled that. Turning away from the ones who had helped him open the door, Chester headed into the bathroom instead once he saw Temperance searching the closet on the opposite side.

„Not a doctor, a taxidermist.“ Alois nodded to his booth, which wasn’t far from either of them. „I’m very familiar with skin.“ Thankfully no one had yet taken advantage of the mayhem to start looting any of the booths for themselves, though there wasn’t much around to tempt such behavior. Personally he would’ve preferred looting something of actual value, rather than baked goods and mini water bottles.

He cast his glance to Cataleen when she experienced a few revelations. „Nice work, Sherlock.“ He drew an exasperated sigh. „If your country didn’t have a bug up its a** about opiate painkillers, there might’ve been something around here worth using. Instead, there’s probably some… What is it, ibuprofen and acetaminophen?“ Alois shrugged. By now, he imagined they would’ve been picked over. He didn’t see any in the first aid kits, either, and the nurse’s station looked fairly picked over from there. They could look, if they wanted to, but it sounded like wasted effort to him.

„If you can’t take the pain, you might just pass out. You’d be easier to work with then. I don’t know much about shock, though.“ Alois leaned his hip against one of the abandoned booths. Gloved hands wound and unwound the suture thread. „You could pass it up. You’ll just bleed for a lot longer and wind up with massive scars.“
