Blackfriars Library is a marvel of early 20th century architecture. Once it housed the administration of the fledgling Rider College; now it houses the graduate library and the largest collection of privately-owned fine art catalogues on the eastern seaboard. Tonight, it plays host to the annual job fair, and many people are in attendance.

The seniors of Rider-Waite are easy to spot: harried, tired, smiling their rictus grins as they attempt to secure a position to keep them from the basements of their childhood homes. The younger students are a little more chipper, a little more bright-eyed, and largely only there for the free food. Academic advisors man the circular information desk, typing away at their workstations as they mark students as present or absent.

Somewhere in this crowd is a secret monster, a person wearing their human skin near-perfectly despite the biological imperative which compels them otherwise. But you don't know that yet.

The time is 1630 hours.

The job fair. Shun was not particularly thrilled to be here right now. There were a lot of people here, looking to network and the like. And he really didn't like crowds of the social gathering sort. And right now, he was stuck helping out with the Ashdown Police Department booth. He tried to let other people do the talking for the most part, and stuck with making sure their brochures or whatever were in place.

If he was lucky, maybe he could skip out early at some point.

Somehow, he had a feeling he wouldn't be able to, though. But for now, he just needed to ride this out.

Jeremiah was with Algie, not currently at the Ashdown Police Department booth or the one for BIbiliophile. Instead he was standing with his lover near a place that was perfect distance from both of the booths they were tied too. They could keep an eye on them but he was going to have to make his way to the his at some point in the next bit.

"At least Krasnya," Lady Red because Jeremiah had always called her that instead of her given name, "helped out Lucas and Eve." His pocket watch was checked reflexively and then slid back away into his pocket.

There were no secrets between them obviously and he had told the other man of the information he had found out about the weres ...

... and the wargs. There was just so much going on. "Not that that really makes me feel any less uneasy." Too many warnings about something going down, too many things in general. With the mansion still fresh in his mind, not that long ago, he was not entirely enthused about what the full moon held in store for them.

---

Nasir only knew that Lily was okay. With that in mind, the senior was enjoying the Rider-Waite Jobland Fair. He was definitely tired and a little worn out from finals but the end was in sight and he could take a moment to enjoy everything. Maybe get a drink ...

He was tugging on Wil's sleeve and pointing towards what looked like a booth for something culinary.

It was much easier to be a senior in college at a job fair when you actually had a job lined up for you (bless small towns and their habit of hiring familiar faces) which is why Chris was acting as a general volunteer. He was tall enough for the job, easy to spot among the sea of people and come up to ask for directions to a booth, or the bathroom, or to step in for someone running a booth.

As it was, Chris was just wandering the crowd now, making sure that no one needed help while also keeping an eye out for any familiar faces. It was probable that he wouldn't do much tonight, but he was going to attempt at least, damn it.

Chel basically beelined it for the police booth the moment she saw it. She was not actually interested in the police, just in saying hi to support her friend because they were friends and that's what friends did.

"Heyyyoooo. Cop-guy Shun on patrooolll."

It was strange to be at a job fair when you didn't need a job.

But then again, Thorne had nothing better to do unless he wanted to be a puddle of anxiety on his kitchen floor or a mess at the gym. That's how he ended up at the Rider College annual job fair, hungry, slightly sleep deprived, arms occupied.

Occupied by what?

"So," he said to the girl on his back with a jovial grin, "Like the view up there? You'd better, seeing as I lost the ******** bet that led to this."

Autumn Smith wasn't a hard girl to carry, but the two of them together probably made a strange sight. Thorne didn't mind much. He'd lost a bet to her early in the day over something he couldn't remember - but he'd lost it so spectacularly that now he had to endure carrying her wherever she pleased on his back for the rest of the day.

At least it gave him a workout, and something to keep his mind off of everything else. Like the text on his phone from a ******** werewolf.

See you later. Who said that? Why did people have to be so dramatic?

"I hope there's food here," Thorne added, his stomach agreeing with a loud rumble. "I'm going to starve if there isn't."

Preacher hooked her thumbs in her pockets and surveyed the booths. She had a job (thank ******** goodness), but she wondered if she could pick up a part time things here. She didn't have a degree, though.... It was, however, a situation of 'nothing ventured, nothing gained', so here she was and... so was Mercer. The man looked a little grumpy, but that certainly wasn't new.

He was with someone else, but a little thing like that would never stop Preacher from sidling over. They were talking, but she waited until there was a pause. She couldn't be rude to her boss. Sort of boss. Hirerererer. Whatever.

"Hey, Mercer, didn't expect you to be here. I heard there's a PD booth - they stick you with runnin' it?" If not the booth, did they seriously enlist security here - there was campus police, right? Preacher highly doubt Mercer needed an internship anywhere.

Temperance was unfortunately trapped behind her own booth, slouched over a bit and currently squeezing one of the free stress balls. Harris (no one knew her first name, or maybe that was her first name) would take over soon - the benefit of a shared booth. The drawback would be that Temperance knew her own place of work was rather low on the list for aspiring med students and interns. But he boss had told her to put her optimistic face on, so she did. Temperance also threw a stress ball at a passing student, recognizing him as someone from one of her classes.

With the grumps ‘standing a perfect distance between the booths’ – Zac felt it was therefore his duty to fill in the gap on at least one end. As such, he was manning the Bibliophile booth, at least in such that he was standing behind the booth, willing to answer any question he could and, at least able to point people towards the owner should they need.

Cranky, slightly rounded man in tweed, look for leather patches on the elbows, it’s almost a dead give away. The speech already prepared in his head.

Quite against his normal better judgment he had an energy drink, which he’d poured into a thermos to avoid judgmental-stares, just in case, and was nursing it as he scanned the crowds.

So tonight was the Full moon, he hoped all the print outs, and web pages he’d given to Lucas had been at least marginally helpful. It was an uncomfortable thought to know that tonight might well… turn a little hairy.

And then there were the Wargs, he’d only talked to one person about those, Falco who…had assumed they were a joke. He had no idea what if ANY rules those played by. People might look at him strangely for standing there with a bag slung over his shoulder that he declined to put down. But he was not letting go of his umbrella, or the small ‘medical’ kit he’d bought from the super-mart.

Paranoid? Him? Oh no… not after that House.
Ha.

Algie didn't know most of the people Jeremiah did. He'd been given the run-down but he had a hard time truly caring beyond the superficial for anyone that wasn't his own acquaintance. It concerned him greatly that something may happen to Eve.... that something was happening to her..

His hand had curled around Jeremiah's (because baby steps and holding hands in public was a thing for slow old fogies) just as someone approached, a young person he was absolutely a stranger to.

Alg remained quietly polite, glancing towards the Bibliophile booth. He was perhaps looking to pick up another employee or two since young adults could generally be considered less than reliable... Oh look.. Chris.

"Chris!" Algie called out to the young man, taking a step from Jeremiah and releasing hands with him so he didn't interrupt his spouse's conversation.

I hate students, Alois found himself mentally repeating ad nauseum.

His mantra helped him little, however, as passing college students strayed to his booth to gawk at the unholy abominations that Alois carefully arranged around the booth. For the purpose of demonstrative skill, Alois chose to bring in primarily rogue taxidermy projects, including one of the well-recognized wolpertingers to demonstrate exactly what rogue taxidermy meant. Around the booth sat small information cards about each of the bizarre projects, and to the left side he arranged a few sets of DIY taxidermy kits for those who showed a strong enough interest in the craft.

Alois himself sat in a black nazgul-inspired urban hoodie with the hood pushed back against bony shoulderblades. As he waited for more prospective apprentices to stop by and make stupid comments about his work, he drew out plans for another taxidermy undertaking on a sketch pad kept in front of him. In the margins lay a smattering of names and numbers, with notes nearby in german. Most of them, for onlookers who knew the language, offered less-than-desirable phrases.

When the next student dropped by and asked him if the wolpertinger was real, Alois simply sighed and dropped his forehead into his palm.

I really hate students.

Wil was leaning on Nasir, arm slightly curled around the darker skinned boy's as he browsed the culinary table. Both of them being seniors they were supposed to have a good idea where their degrees would take them. Wil could only think about a week in advance for himself... maybe more school. Maybe he could rack up degrees but that seemed like so much work...

Though a master's in art would be cool. To say he had. When people thought he was a lazy s**t- but he was a lazy s**t.

Wil had been spying the goth looking taxidermy booth, about to ask Nasir if he thought a taxidermy animal could be turned into a bong when he walked in front of a projectile clearly meant for someone else.

The blonde was pegged by a stress ball and like the rubber human he was, sort of crumpled into Nasir with a soft 'OOF'.

Kitty was not a college student, nor was she a booth volunteer. She was a 16 year old girl wearing a frilly dress and a crown atop her head, strolling slowly through the crowds as if the entire town were attending a ball just for her.

Perhaps these booths were only seeking college seniors and the like, but this teenager was looking toward the future. A future where she didn't have to work weekends at a 7-11 just to afford a new brand dress every month. Perhaps something with triple the wages, ad half the time spent working. Yes, lovely. Maybe she could be a model. A brand model. Angelic Pretty ought to seek her out, really. She would wear nothing else.

As she perused and took in her surroundings, she noticed a certain book shop had set up a promo booth as well.

Her eyes narrowed at the Bibliophile booth. She had a vendetta against them, even if they did end up pointing her in the direction of her newest obsession.

Well, you didn’t see full-fledged Lolita on a daily basis. Zac admired it from a distance, pink wasn’t –really- his color, but it was amusing to see a crown being worn with such pride.

Er… he blinked, confused at the apparent animosity being directed at the booth when she spotted it. Surely you had to expect looks when you were dressed literally to the nines.

“Uh… Sorry? Can, I help you?” He said drawing back slightly, and glancing towards Alg where he stood, safely separated from the booth and the girl who, in that moment looked like she might find a projectile weapon.
